Home of the most fucked up hair you've ever seen: This subreddit is for haircuts so ridiculous that they make you wonder how it happened or what the customer even said to be granted with such a hairstyle. The customer obviously told the barber to just "Fuck my shit up."

2024.05.19 08:46 InitialRemarkable455 What do you do for recreational activities?

I noticed that in gurugram wine and beer shops are decorated with lights as if they are highway dhabas/restaurants or hi-fi malls. Just real malls and thekas decorated as malls. That's the only thing that exists in gurgaon for fun. During my childhood we used to have games period only once or twice a week. Even during those periods all were busy preparing for jee. Indian kids are least interested in sports. I used to make bow and arrows out of broom sticks and try to imitate ramayan Mahabharat characters by holding the arrow in front of my forehead, murmur some gibberish and then letting go of the drawn arrow on some toy placed at a distance. My father snapped and broke my bow and arrows. He was like, "not sending you to such an expensive school just so that you could become a tribal hunter. Go study". One of my father's friends had once gifted me a mouser bb gun for fifth or sixth birthday. My father was furious and angry at him for gifting his son a gun. He was like guns are banned in USA. Guns as toys are for bad kids. I used to like watching martial arts based movies and imitate their actions alone. Father gaslit me by saying that I was trying to be a future criminal. As martial arts are only for goons, thugs, killer, police, army or ultra rich people who just want to show off medals as status symbol. He wanted me to focus only on studies.
Rich shitty kids in my school had Xbox, PlayStation and PC games. They discriminated against me because of obvious status difference. So I had no friends, no siblings or any good memories while growing up. Girls in my class only wanted to hang with those boys who used to play football or basketball for school team. I was good at goalkeeping because of my natural reflexes and height and was also good at taking penalty kicks because of brute strength. But I wasn't good at tackling or dribbling. I used to do a lot of fouls. That's not the reason for which I wasn't allowed to play by the way. The real reason was that they didn't want to get embarassed by me who was a "poor loser" according to them. They used to belittle me because of my looks, skin colour and lack of money. So getting humbled by me on playground obviously used to hurt their ego. Because of that they didn't use to let me play.
Every one in my office just smokes tobacco or drinks alcohol. That is the definition of having a good time or celebration according to them. I noticed that Indians just drink(alcohol), spit(paan gutka), smoke (tobacco) and do drugs. Like isn't there anything else for recreational activities? In urban areas there's malls and I think one can go for hiking or trekking too. But even there Indian gen z and millennials just want to do gaanja and charas at Manali or any other hill station. Why are Indians so much into drugs?
Most of the MMA coaching centres are frauds as per the reviews on Google pages. They charge a leg or an arm but whatever they teach isn't that good as per the reviews.
I want to go to uttrakhand for river rafting, bunjee jumping, sky diving or para gliding. But don't feel brave enough because of the fact that it's India after all. What if the parachute doesn't open, what if the chord breaks, what if the bunjee cable breaks, what if I drown....and also the charges as per Indian economy is too high. As per Indian economy the charges should not be as high as they are. Maybe within a year or two I will finally got for it.

2024.05.19 07:06 99DSMGSX Scoundrel's Kiss bad interactions.

Dear Blizzard,
Thanks for the ring, i love the idea but:
I1. Since PTR, Casting Rapid Fire against a Chilling Wind Elite will make the arrows explode upon contact (with the chilling wall) making them even harder to deal with than a suppressor Elite. Without Scoundrel's, Chilling Wind will only slow the projectiles, but we are still able to do dmg from far.
  1. I dont mind the slower speed on Rapid Fire, but its almost impossible to deal with mobs surrounding you. Make It work as against Chilling Wall, if the mob is at cerrtain cast distance, make the arrows explode. This is the way you deal with body to body combat. Repeating will make the arrows ricochet and i dont mind the ricochet doesnt seem to explode, im fin with it.. but when you have 3 elites surroudning you, even if you dash out, they just get close again and you are tryuing to figure out were the mouse pointer needs to be in order to at least deal some dmg or cc with Rapid Fire.
  2. Giant Mobs, why would the arrows go through them and deal damage upon hitting the floor? this applies to point number 2. When fighting against Final Bosses, the arrows do dmg once they hit the floor, them being so big their hit box should also be on par with the body mass. Its almost impossible to activate the tricks of trade legendary node with shadow step then rapid fire the boss, its almost like a wasted Legendary Node cause 90% of the arrows hit outside the Boss's Hit Box.
I know sonmeof us want/know that if they made it projectiles instead of lobs we wouldnt be dissapointed. Lobs make it eassier to deal with packs (way way better than projectiles) but the interation with close targets kills it, i know i can shoot the lobs on my feet, but it feeles like there are 4 pixels in the screeen from millions of them to make it happen.
Does anyone have anything else to add?
EDIT: maybe making it so, if you cast it up to close combat its a projectile and if casted outside the close range it lobs?

Aura of Radiance (Su) The light of Lathander shines perpetually. No matter how dark it is, the Morninglord sees as though the conditions were identical to the outdoors at sunrise. This ability functions like darkvision out to 60 feet, except that he sees in color. Lathander also has a +2 sacred bonus on saving throws against spells with the darkness descriptor and a +2 sacred bonus to Armor Class against attacks from undead creatures.
Beam of Sunlight (Sp) Lathander can evoke a dazzling beam of intense light (the equivalent of a beam from the sunbeam spell) once per round as a full-round action as long as his radiant aura is active as a 56th level caster.
Blessing of Dawn (Su) The sight of the morning sun is an inspirational vision for the Morninglord. Lathander gains a +2 morale bonus on Will saves from sunrise until noon. This ability is in effect only while he can see the sun; the effect is suppressed any time he is deprived of the sight of it during this period.
Celestial Fortitude (Su) Lathander’s endurance and fortitude are enhanced against fiendish attacks. He has a +2 sacred bonus to all Fortitude saving throws against effects from evil outsiders and evil spells. Additionally, if he makes a successful Fortitude saving throw against an effect from an evil spell or evil outsider that normally deals half damage or partial effects on a successful save, he instead takes no damage and suffers no partial effects.
Celestial Minion (Sp) Lathander may summon a Medium or smaller size celestial animal (with the celestial creature template) as a standard action usable once a day. This celestial minion carries the same responsibilities as a paladin's special mount and gains the same bonuses to its HD, natural armor, Strength, Intelligence, and other special abilities that a paladin's special mount has, but only remains for 20 hours before returning to the outer plane from whence it came.
Creative Fire (Ex) The Morninglord is a creative, expressive deity. He has a bonus equal to his morninglord level on all Craft and Perform checks.
Divinity Lathander is an embodiment of ancient divine power. As such, reality is his to shape as he sees fit.
Alter Reality: Lathander may alter reality within the bounds of his portfolio. This functions as a wish spell that requires no XP or material cost. The limits of this ability are fully described in Deities and Demigods. He can additionally alter his size from Fine to Colossal and may additionally alter up to 100 pounds of objects in the same manner.
Avatar: Lathander can have up to 20 avatars at any given time. The Morninglord appears as a golden-skinned athletic male of exceeding beauty who has just fully entered early manhood. He wears noble robes constructed in the colors of the dawn, carries himself proudly, and dresses in the finest golden plate armor if attending to matters that might turn violent.
Divine Blast: Lathander can create a ray of divine power that extends for up to 17 miles, dealing up to 444 points of damage, as a ranged touch attack with no saving throw. Lathander can unleash a divine blast 23 times per day, and alter the visual, auditory and sensation-based qualities of his divine blast as he desires. Lathander’s divine blasts generally take the form of rays of fiery sunlight.
Divine Shield: As a free action 23 times per day, Lathander can create a shield that lasts 10 minutes and stops 170 points of damage from attacks. Once the shield stops that much damage, it collapses. Any damage Lathander is naturally immune to does not count towards the shield’s limits.
Earthmother’s Boon (unique salient divine ability) Chauntea is Lathander’s lover and has bestowed a degree of protection over her consort. By her grace, the Lord of the Dawn cannot be harmed by any nonmagical plant or any creature with less than 33 Hit Dice with the plant subtype. Epic creatures and creatures with equal or more than 33 Hit Dice must succeed at a Will save (DC 79) to harm the Morninglord.
Greater Turning (Su) Six times per day, Lathander may use greater turning as the granted power of the Sun domain. This is superseded by his Lord of the Dawn salient divine ability.
Lathander's Light (Su) Whenever Lathander casts a spell with the light descriptor, its area is doubled.
Lord of the Dawn (unique salient divine ability) Lathander is the sun. He is the light that drives back the darkness, the brilliant spark that lights the way out of night and the creative brilliance within every artist. His dominion over light and the sun, both physical and metaphysical, grants him a variety of powers as listed below:
Fires of the Sun: The light of the sun shields Lathander’s body. This protection renders Lathander immune to all forms of magical and nonmagical fire, with searing effects only dealing half damage. In addition, spells and spell-like abilities cast by Lathander from the Sun domain, or with the [fire] and [light] descriptors, are similarly enhanced and are always intensified.
Radiance of the Dawn: Lathander can shed light equal to full sunlight in a 17-mile emanation from his body that counters and dispels all Darkness effects unless created by a higher ranked deity. Undead and evil outsiders caught within the radius must succeed at a Fortitude save (DC 79) or be destroyed and turned into dust. Creatures vulnerable to sunlight suffer a -17 penalty to the saving throw. A successful saving throw still deals 17d8 points of damage, while creatures vulnerable to sunlight suffer 17d12 points of damage.
Spark of Creativity: Lathander is the commander of creativity, the inspiration and muse for craftsmen and artists throughout the Realms. 17 times per day, Lathander may bestow a +17 divine bonus to any Craft or Performance check, or the Efficient Item Creation feat, to up to 17 creatures for the next 24 hours. Performances and non-magical items crafted beneath the aegis of this ability always earn three times the normal gold amount and have three times the listed market price in cost. Magical items crafted with the benefit of this ability add +17,000 gp to the listed market price and increase any numeric benefit (enhancement bonuses for the purpose of attack and damage rolls, armor and save bonuses and so forth) by +4.
Spurn the Profane: Lathander uses the totality of his character level to determine the effectiveness of his ability to smite evil, turn outsiders and undead as well as any of his feats that affect the undead. His turn attempts resolve as greater turnings (as the granted power of the Sun domain). In addition, Lathander adds his paladin spells to his clerical spell list, using the sum of both lists to determine his caster level.
Wrath of the Dawn: As a standard action Lathander can generate a ray of scorching light that extends for up to 17 miles and inflicts 17d6 points of damage, half fire and half divine. As a full attack option, he can generate up to four rays, and undead and evil outsiders suffer 17d12 points of damage. In addition, Lathander can duplicate the effects of any spell with the [light] descriptor as a standard action. (CL 65th, DC 50 plus spell level).
Maximize Turning (Su) Once per day, Lathander can automatically achieve the maximum possible result on a turning damage roll. This is superseded by his natural divine powers.
Radiant Aura (Su) Three times per day, Lathander can emanate an aura of brilliant light that weakens undead creatures for one minute. The aura provides bright illumination in a 30-foot radius around him, and shadowy illumination for an additional 30 feet beyond that. Creatures that take penalties in bright light also take them while within the radius of the bright aura. In addition, undead creatures within the radius of bright light take a —2 penalty on attack rolls, damage rolls, and saving throws. Activating the radiant aura is a free action that does not provoke attacks of opportunity. While his radiant aura is active, Lathander casts spells with the light descriptor at +2 caster level. The radiant aura is the equivalent of a 5th-level spell with the light descriptor for the purpose of interacting with spells and effects with the darkness descriptor.
Rejuvenation of the Morn (Su) Dawn is a powerful symbol of rebirth and renewal. Once per tenday, Lathander may spend one uninterrupted hour before dawn in prayer. As soon as the sun rises after this prayer ritual, he gains one benefit of his choice from the following list.
· Healing up to full normal hit points (self only).
· Removal of any poisons or diseases (self only). This effect does not restore ability damage or ability drain caused by poison or disease.
· Full restoration of ability damage due to one poison or disease.
If his prayers are interrupted for even a single round, the attempt is ruined, and he must wait a full tenday to try again.
Resist Fiendish Lure (Su) Lathander has a +4 sacred bonus to all saving throws against mind-affecting attacks of evil outsiders.
Possessions
Dawnspeaker, Lathander’s gold-and-ivory mace, is a +10 fiery blast ghost strike mighty disruption heavy mace of holy power and evil outsider and undead dread. When held by the Morninglord, it also functions as a holy devastator. The DC of the weapon’s disruption and dread abilities is 79, and creatures vulnerable to sunlight suffer a -17 penalty to saving throws made to resist Dawnspeaker’s abilities. Lathander is known to loan out Dawnspeaker to questors and warriors he deems worthy and can call it back to his hand from anywhere in the cosmos.
The Morninglord also occasionally wears a set of golden +8 full plate with the powers of an armor of the celestial battalion. The bonuses are not reflected in the above statistics.
Other Divine Powers As a greater deity, Lathander automatically receives the best possible result on any die roll he makes (including attack rolls, damage, checks, and saves). He treats a 1 on an attack roll or saving throw normally and not as an automatic failure. He is immortal. Eternal Rest [Ravenloft: Legacy of Blood 71]
Necromancy
Level: Cleric 6
Components: V, S, DF
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Effect: Ray (see text)
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: Will partial (see text)
Spell Resistance: Yes
This spell creates a ray of golden light that destroys one undead creature’s material body (if it has one), causing it to crumble to dust, which is then wafted away in a swirling breeze. This spell affects incorporeal undead without the usual incorporeal miss chance, and such a creature merely winks out of existence if it fails its save. If the target makes a successful save, it still takes 6d6 points of damage. If the creature has a special quality that allows it to return after destruction (such as a vampire’s fast healing power or a ghost’s rejuvenation power), the creature gains a bonus equal to its Charisma modifier on its saving throw. If such a creature fails its saving throw against this spell, it must make a successful Will save at the same DC (also with its Charisma modifier as a bonus) to return. If the creature’s method of return normally requires a saving throw (as a ghost’s rejuvenation power does), the creature must first make that saving throw, then make the Will saving throw against this spell.
You can improve your chance of success by presenting at least one object or substance that the target hates, fears, or otherwise finds repulsive or painful (such as a mirror and bud of garlic for a vampire). For each such object or substance, you gain a +1 bonus on your caster level check to overcome the target’s spell resistance (if any), and the spell’s saving throw DC increases by +1. A particular creature’s history might suggest additional objects or substances that would make the spell more effective.
This spell can also be cast when an undead creature has been physically destroyed and its remains are not present. In this case, the spell must be aimed at the spot where the creature was destroyed, and it must be used within 1 minute of the undead creature’s destruction. No attack roll is required for this use of the spell.
This spell can destroy an undead darklord’s physical form, but it cannot prevent the darklord from returning.
Rainbow [Dragon Magazine 321 68]
Conjuration (Creation)
Level: Cleric 6, Radiance 6
Components: V, S, DF
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Effect: Rainbow bow, quiver, and arrows
Duration: 1 hour / level
Saving Throw: No
Spell Resistance: Yes
A rainbow-hued longbow appears in your hand, along with a full quiver of arrows fletched with different colors. The longbow is considered a +1 longbow that the caster is proficient with. The quiver holds an endless supply of seven different colored arrows, each being made of a different material and having the following effects:
Red: +1 elemental-bane adamantine arrows.
Orange: +1 construct-bane silver arrows.
Yellow: +1 plant-bane evil-aligned arrows.
Green: +1 magical beast-bane good-aligned arrows.
Blue: +1 undead-bane lawful-aligned arrows.
Indigo: +1 aberration-bane chaotic-aligned arrows.
Violet: +1 dragon-bane cold iron arrows.
Only the caster is able to use the bow, quiver, and arrows. They appear immediately back in the caster’s possession if dropped or given away, though the caster may drop the bow and quiver to use another item, but can rematerialize them at will, as a free action. The bow, quiver, and arrows have no weight and cannot be disarmed or sundered.
Know True Name [Kalamar: Player’s Guide 3.0 177]
Enchantment (Compulsion) [Mind-Affecting]
Level: Cleric 8
Components: V, S, DF
Casting Time: 1 action
Ranged: Close (25 ft. + 5 ft. / 2 levels)
Target: One fiend
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: Will negates
Spell Resistance: Yes
You force a fiend to tell you its true name. Once you know a fiend’s true name, all spells that you cast at that creature have their save DCs increase by +4. You also gain a +4 on all checks to penetrate the creature’s spell resistance.

Name: Enyo Gender: Female Height: 171cm (5,6 feet) Race: God Pantheon: Roman (Current), Greek (Exiled) Position: Goddess of the War and Bloodlust
Alias: Butcher of Athens
Personality: Enyo was a very simple minded individual. And has a short temper. But also has her own sadistic side to her, starting wars for very stupid reasons. Just like she got bored and raided Athens with her soldiers. The streets of Athens were filled with corpses and blood splattered everywhere. Even children were not spared. On the temple, where the last remaining soldiers and citizens were hiding, Queens of the forces clashed. Athena VS Enyo. That battle took 12 minutes, and ended with Athena ripping Enyo's left eye out of socket. This raid also caused Zeus to finally snap at her daughter, and exiled her out of Greek Pantheon. Destined to wander plains of the world alone. From a piece of metal, she covered the wound on her face, and it gave rise to deep hatred for Athena.
As she lived among mortals, she got bored of War. The moment guns exchanged bows with arrows and swords, it all stopped being entertaining for her. And it even grew on announcement. She lived in Poland, during World War II, and during Germany's attack, a little girl saved her. The girl did not know she is goddess and could not be hurt by mortal weapons, but still did so. In following days, when they started hunting for Jews, Enyo have hidden said girl and her family in her own house. And when they got discovered, Goddess of War and Bloodshed raised on surface, massacring all soldiers that came there, and sended their heads with message carved to their heads to Germany. Despised Goddess became symbol of hope for said small town. Symbol of Protection. And after war ended, Enyo embraced her Roman equivalent of Bellona. As symbol of her being new being. Even letting go of her deep hatred for Athena. But... as it's always the case. Nobody ever dies... not even our past selves. As it's the case with Bellona. Butcher of Athens... Enyo... is still deep within her. Waiting for the moment to come back on the surface once more. Though she has picked a habit of smoking cigarettes.

2024.05.18 20:06 Mouse_Numerous Pension & Investors release Fortress Mgt buys Fortress back from Softbank 5/15/24

5/15/24 co CEO Fortress announces closure of Fortress Mgt buyback from Softbank. Now Fortress is ready to roll at Novation Co NOVCQ a public company hidden by SEC Rule 15c2-11 with partners co investors Mass Mutual & sub Barings aka Babson Capital, Jefferies $JEF & White Mountain’s Capital $WTM & NOVCQ Board of Directors Barry Igdaloff’s Howard Amster & Whitney Tilson, Chuck Gillman, Jeffrey Eberwein, David Pointer, Tim Eriksen, Lee Keddie & Robert Pearse. These people are all connected and their 3 NOVCQ restructuring are all connected and advised by 3 third party professionals TPP Boulay Group, Olshan Law, Shapiro Sher. These TPP are no different then Sullivan Cromwell aiding the FTX scheme.
https://www.pionline.com/alternatives/fortress-mubadala-complete-acquisition-fortress-investment-group
World Leading Investors Fortress, EJF Capital aka FBR, MassMutual Barings, Jefferies, White Mountains Capital $WTM are about to create BILLIONS in Capital plus Hundreds of Millions in Cash Flow every year. This is how Whitney Tilson's pals Chuck Gillman, Jeff Eberwein and their co-investors siege control of Novation Companies $NOVC. Use SEC Rule 15C(2)-11 to drive share price down, while taking 16M or 10% of stock at pennies as partial board compensation. Equipped with 40M common shares of NOVCQ they are ready to make Billions plus Create $100Ms every year in cash flow in dividends/Mgt Fees. They have a world class roster of investors supporting them including; MassMutual Barings/Jefferies 40M and Fortress/EJF Capital 31.3M NOVCQ common shares (EJF formerly FBR is owned by White Mountains Capital $WTM). Fortress/EJF Capital also own $NOVCQ only Sr Debt to exit their 1st Ch 11 MD and was used in 2nd Ch 11 in DE filed 8/13/2024. Fortress/EJF invested a few thousand dollars in Off Balance Sheet entities Taberna Trups CDOs I & II/Kodiak CDO I, that hold NOVCQ only Sr Debt. After the 1st Ch 11 NOVCQ Board of Director Barry Igdaloff, Howard Amster hands Fortress/EJF Capital 31M shares allocated by Board at zero basis. This proves NOVCQ Board of Directors was not independent from Sr Debt Holders Fortress/EJF Capital. Sr Debt was a ruse including its use in DE Ch 11. DE Ch 11 was carefully crafted to provide short sellers a way to take tax free gains. The Board with little cash invested holds control of this former NYSE MREIT Novastar Financial Inc. traded under MREIT NYSE Exemption $NFI now Novation $NOVCQ.
Per WSJ Wesley Edens of Fortress is the new MREIT Subprime KING after restructuring Mr. Cooper $COOP and OMF One Main aka LEAF AIG and Citi Bank Subprime CaPersonal Lending unit, and RITM/NRZ and Dynex Capital DX. Manny Friedman Founder of EJF Capital formerly FBR Friedman, Billings Ramsey, is regarded as a leading MREIT expert. They control Novation Companies Inc. NOVCQ thanks to $NOVCQ Board of Directors who they have a past relationship. They renamed Novastar Financial Inc. former traded NSYE as $NFI to Novation Companies, which owns MREIT Novastar Financial Inc., renamed Novastar Mortgage inside 2nd Ch 11 in DE. A new 8-Member Board is waiting in the wings with new name/symbol. I have been told they have big plans for NOVCQ only operating unit http://healthcare-staffing.com HCS which owns and conceals Medmasa http://medmasa.com
I believe they will merge HCS/Medmasa with Jeff Eberwein Hudson Global $HSON to create quarter billion tax free BPO public company. Jeffrey Eberwein is the former NOVCQ COB/CEO that managed 1st Ch 11 in MD with Shapiro Sher. Eberwein is now COB/CEO of Hudson Global $HSON. This merger will monetize NOVCQ $730M NOLs just like both CH 11 the 1st in Maryland, MD & 2nd or last in Delaware, DE. Both used Sr Debt as ruse to execute both Ch 11s which have gone to great length to save NOVCQ $730M NOLs. 2022 NOVCQ triggered SEC Rule 15c(2)-11 which allows NOVCQ to remain public but conceals who is buying NOVCQ as only Expert Investors can accumulate NOVCQ like Putnam Inv. Goldman Sachs, Blackrock & David Dreman of Dreman Value Mgt. and Thomas Akin Talkot Capital fund owns 1.9M common. This SEC Rule is postured as way for small public company to remain public and not have the cost burden of SEC filings. What it really does is stops Retail bid/ask and allows Expert Investors in the know to front run a public company before rolling out true reorganization plans.
They are ready to change Novation Co $NOVCQ name and brand so as to eliminate any reference to the prior board or brand. This is how they roll. I believe they will present the new name/symbol and 8-Member Board comprised of Fortress, EJF Capital aka FBR people once Fortress Management close Softbank SALE of Fortress (DONE See Top 5/15/24 Announcement) to them and Mubadala Investment Company ex Fortress executive Rajeev Misra. Whitney Tilson close small cap co-investors Chuck Gillman, Jeff Eberwein are at the center. I’ve been told they do nothing but sure things. Former George Soros Investments Portfolio Mgr. Jeff Eberwein Wharton MBA, is ready to take $NOVC http://medmasa.com conceal behind http://healthcare-staffing.com & $730M NOLs. This 8-Member Board connected to past Board Members Jeff Eberwein, Chuck Gillman, Barry Igdaloff, Howard Amster I believe will merge Medmasa/HCS with Hudson Global $HSON (see Jefferey Eberwein Form 4s at $HSON & Form 4s filed at NOVCQ between April-Oct 2015 via his fund Lone Star Value Mgt.). Jeff Eberwein & his clan including Whitney Tilson/Chuck Gillman were introduced to the present day NOVCQ Board Barry Igdaloff, Howard Amster. Wes Edens, Founder of Fortress hide their identity behind Off Balance Sheet OBE Entities Taberna Trups CDOs I and II and former FBR Friedman, Billings, Ramsey now called http://EJFCap.com also hide their identity behind OBE Kodiak CDO I.
Fortress/EJF own at the same time both the only Sr Debt to exit 1st Ch 11 MD and months afterward 31M NOVCQ common (9M NOVCQ common shares plus 22.250M Ten Year Warrants. There are co-conspirators with NOVCQ board of directors that own 40M NOVCQ Common & MassMutual & Jefferies own 40M NOVCQ common shares. Novation Companies Inc. $NOVCQ submerged shareholder plans and value under SEC Rule 15c(2)-11 to sub penny stock that can only be traded today by Expert Investors defined by this SEC Rule. Fortress/EJF Capital paid almost nothing for OBEs yet they have spent at least $2M cash in the last Ch 11 in DE. They have every reason to do something big.
I believe that something will be splitting NOVCQ into two tax free public companies worth BILLIONS plus Hundreds of Millions in annual cash flow in MREIT Dividends & Lucrative Mgt Fees just like Fortress did a LEAF/One Main OMF, Newcastle that is New Residential $NRZ now Rithm Capital $RITM and $GCI formerly New Media NEWM and New Senior $SNR sold for over $2B. $RITM aka $NRZ in 2019 10K documented that shareholders paid Fortress over $250M in Mgt Fees annually, plus dividends. Fortress terminated the NRZ/RITM Mgt Deal for cool $400M (simultaneously changing Name/Symbol to Rithm Capital $RITM). NOVCQ Dark Horse are their plans for NOVCQ only operating unit HCS aka Medmasa http://medmasa.com concealed by CH 11 in DE. Medmasa NOVCQ only operating unit is http://healthcare-staffing.com NOVCQ former MREIT NYSE $NFI now named Novastar Mortgage is the Board, EJF Capital and Fortress ticket to monetizing rights (see Exhibit 2.1 of Q3 2007 10Q Service Rights Transfer Agreement Sec 5.04 that defines these rights as Cleanup Call Rights CCR well know to these MREIT experts) that control billions of rich, seasoned collateral assets ideal to be leveraged and securitized into MREIT dividend & like RITM aka NRZ another external management fee for Fortress and/or EJF. Fortress/EJF Capital then FBR did this with NOVCQ Board Barry Igdaloff, Howard Amster 2000-03 at Dynex Capital NYSE $DX. Ask Igdaloff helpers Thomas Akin former CEO/COB of DX he holds 1.9M of NOVCQ in his fund Talkot Capital. Thomas Bruce Akin sat on DX Board for years with NOVCQ Chairman Igdaloff. Igdaloff served 20 years on DX Board per DX 8K 9/3/2020.This is your chance to do what is right. ====================================== ALTERNATIVES

Fortress, Mubadala complete acquisition of Fortress Investment Group

Drew McKnight and Joshua Pack
Fortress Investment Group, an alternatives manager, and Mubadala Investment Co., the investment arm of Abu Dhabi’s $276 billion sovereign wealth fund, completed their acquisition deal May 15, and as part of the close, Fortress management now owns a 32% equity interest.
Mubadala owns the remaining 68%. The acquisition, through Mubadala Capital, is for the 90.01% of Fortress equity that was held by SoftBank Group Corp., according to a news release. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Fortress’s sale of majority equity was approved by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States after concessions were made to let Fortress keep data and technology in the U.S., the Financial Times first reported last week.
Fortress, which had $48 billion in assets under management at the end of 2023, said it expects the new joint venture to help it further establish itself in credit and real estate in both public and private markets. Fortress pointed to Mubadala Capital’s global network to help expand client relationships.
“This is a true landmark event for Fortress, for our employees and for the clients we serve,” said Fortress co-CEOs Drew McKnight and Joshua Pack, adding, “We have strengthened alignments of interest, put significant management skin in the game, and deepened our long-term partnership with Mubadala, one of the world’s most highly regarded investors.”
As part of Fortress management now owning a 32% equity interest, its management is entitled to appointment of a majority of board seats. McKnight, Pack and managing partner Jack Neumark were the largest individual investors in the buyout and were joined by about 150 members of the firm.
Mubadala Capital’s CEO and managing director, Hani Barhoush, continues to serve on the Fortress board, a position he has held since 2019 when Mubadala initially invested.
Fortress will continue to operate as an independent investment manager under its own brand and with full autonomy over its investment process and personnel.

2024.05.18 19:47 Ok_Bullfrog_8491 Celebrimbor, St Sebastian, and Sauron

I often think about Celebrimbor, and I simply can’t get over the obvious visual parallel with St. Sebastian. This is St Sebastian’s martyrdom: by Reni), and Mantegna).
Celebrimbor died thus: “In black anger [Sauron] turned back to battle; and bearing as a banner Celebrimbor’s body hung upon a pole, shot through with Orc-arrows, he turned upon the forces of Elrond.” (UT, p. 307–308)
The iconography (see drawings by peet, and Kaaile) is the same.
And this led me to wondering about what made Tolkien, a Catholic, decide to give his Elf who fell to Sauron’s manipulations a famous Christian martyrdom, and why St Sebastian in particular?
I don’t know enough about St Sebastian or Tolkien to do more than speculate.
First, as a hint of Celebrimbor’s feelings for fair Annatar. St. Sebastian has a strong gay association. This was so even at the turn of the 20th century: Oscar Wilde clearly loved St Sebastian and the associated iconography. Here he refers specifically to Guido Reni’s wonderful painting of St Sebastian. In The Picture of Dorian Gray, St Sebastian is highlighted in Chapter XI, the chapter about Dorian’s personal (and generally rather decadent) passions. St Sebastian also appears in Thomas Mann’s Der Tod in Venedig(Zweites Kapitel). I can see the whole thing as being a hint at Celebrimbor falling for Sauron in more ways than one, particularly given what we know of his seduction (the term used in LOTR, p. 1083) by Annatar in his “fair form” (Sil, Index of Names, entry Annatar; UT, p. 328). Sauron is said to have “used all his arts upon Celebrimbor and his fellow-smiths” (UT, p. 306). “All his arts” would include this: “Yet such was the cunning of his mind and mouth, and the strength of his hidden will, that ere three years had passed he had become closest to the secret counsels of the King; for flattery sweet as honey was ever on his tongue, and knowledge he had of many things yet unrevealed to Men. And seeing the favour that he had of their lord all the councillors began to fawn upon him, save one alone” (Sil, Akallabêth). To me, this passage sounds distinctly sexual, and also like something that Oscar Wilde could have written, with this imagery.
(I admit that having Celebrimbor fall in love with Annatar makes the eventual betrayal even worse. I also am aware that in one of the many different versions presented in The History of Galadriel and Celeborn, it is said that Celebrimbor loved Galadriel (UT, p. 324–325), but according to Christopher Tolkien, this “Celebrimbor is here again a jewel-smith of Gondolin, rather than one of the Fëanorians” (UT, p. 325), which is why I tend to take his characterisation here with a pinch of salt.)
The other thought I had is quite dark: rape. It’s an association that I personally feel imposes itself, in a way. “The arrow is a highly phallic image” (source) already, and there’s the image of Cupid’s two arrows, causing uncontrollable desire in one victim, and revulsion in the other. The result for the person who was shot by the second arrow was rape—or death (or transformation into a tree if your father happened to be (1) a god, and (2) nearby: Daphne). I’m not the first person to connect the iconography of St Sebastian with rape: see this (NSFW, nudity and violence) blogpost. This could be a very Tolkienian hint of what Celebrimbor suffered in his “torment” (UT, p. 307) at the hands of Sauron before his death—subtle, “clean”, deniable, but intriguing.
We know that Morgoth wanted to rape Lúthien (“Then Morgoth looking upon her beauty conceived in his thought an evil lust, and a design more dark than any that had yet come into his heart since he fled from Valinor. Thus he was beguiled by his own malice, for he watched her, leaving her free for awhile, and taking secret pleasure in his thought.” (Sil, QS, ch. 19)) and that, while the above passage implies that Morgoth only ever wanted to rape Lúthien and no other, that is not true: he also attempted to rape Arien, the Maia of the Sun, in order specifically to break her: “though he attempted to ravish Arien, this was to destroy and ‘distain’ her, not to beget fiery offspring” (HoME X, p. 405, fn omitted).
Sauron, meanwhile, is described thus: “Sauron was become now a sorcerer of dreadful power, master of shadows and of phantoms, foul in wisdom, cruel in strength, misshaping what he touched, twisting what he ruled, lord of werewolves; his dominion was torment.” (Sil, QS, ch. 18) I do not think that it would be either out-of-character for Sauron or “out-of-world” for the Legendarium (especially as Sauron used to be Morgoth’s second-in-command in Angband) to assume that Sauron raped Celebrimbor in order to break him or just because he’s an obvious sadist who would enjoy every last second of it, or had others rape Celebrimbor as grisly a method of torture—and then turned him into his banner to show the Elves what he’d done, and dishonour Celebrimbor even further in death.
(Note that it is a common misconception that Elves die when raped. As per HoME X, p. 228 (a text likely from the late 1950s: HoME X, p. 199), this only applies to married Elves raped by someone who is not their spouse: “there is no record of any among the Elves that took another’s spouse by force; for this was wholly against their nature, and one so forced would have rejected bodily life and passed to Mandos.” (Emphasis mine) This is confirmed by the fact that in a later (from 1959–1960: HoME XI, p. 359–360) text, Eöl rapes unmarried Aredhel and Aredhel survives: “Eöl found Irith, the sister of King Turgon, astray in the wild near his dwelling, and he took her to wife by force: a very wicked deed in the eyes of the Eldar.” (HoME XI, p. 409, fn omitted, emphasis mine) Note the same expression used to describe a rape.)
This post turned out longer than I planned. I’ve speculated on two possible associations that the imagery of St Sebastian and the character and story of Celebrimbor invite. Do you have other ideas? Why do you think that Tolkien chose this imagery?

2024.05.18 18:46 AloofWriter [FN] Last Resort

Alivia strapped her daggers to her thighs, ensuring the blades were easy to access without impairing her movements. It was hard enough to escape The Order alive, and after I met Richard, I swore I would never go back to my old ways. Now that he's gone, what else am I supposed to do?
Her short auburn hair framed the delicate features of her face, drawing attention to her eyes. Blue as sapphires, those eyes could distract almost as much as the rest of her body. The only thing that marred her beauty was a small scar running across her collarbone, a souvenir from a battle long ago.
She checked the fitting of her leather garb one last time before placing her short bow and quiver on her back, ensuring they were secure. I need to provide for my children. They’re all that matters to me, and I don't know what else to do.
Donning her balaclava, she stepped onto the windowsill. She took one last look at her children fast asleep, then leapt through the window, ready to begin her journey. I have to do this for you two. I would do anything to make you happy.
Alivia approached the mage's keep, leery of any magical traps that might give her away. The manse looked abandoned, with broken windows, chipped paint, and a sagging iron gate. With any luck, it would be empty, making for an easy job.
Even with that hopeful thought, she was just as careful as if it were guarded by a dozen men. She crossed the lawn, sliding into a basement window where the bars looked gnawed off by some sort of monster.
The room was damp, with racks of wine bottles splintered on the floor, their contents long seeped into the cobblestone. Alivia carefully stepped over the broken glass and splinters, making her way to the only door. She checked the door for traps and found a simple conflagration weave. Clumsily, she disabled the trap and stepped into the hall.
Blue light flashed across the ceiling. "Crap," Alivia muttered under her breath as she readied her bow. She wouldn't have missed the enchantment if she hadn't been so rusty. It was layered under the first weave, something only a novice would overlook. But she was no novice and had no excuse for the mistake. She slowly made her way down the only path, ever more careful now that her presence was known.
She came to an ornate door, symbols she couldn't recognize etched along the frame. A thorough check showed no traps. She stepped through, arrow nocked and ready.
An old man sat in front of a fireplace, the Tome of Flame resting on his lap. "So you're the mighty mage that lives in this pile of crap you call a home," Alivia said, sarcasm dripping from her lips as she stepped through the doorway, her arrow pointing at Rothgar. "I’ve come for the Tome of Flame. Just hand it over unless you want the last thing you taste to be my arrow."
Rothgar soaked in the heat from the fireplace, red mist swirling in his eyes. This was his sanctuary, and he would not tolerate intruders. Rage burned within as Rothgar spoke firmly, “You will never leave here alive. You have disgraced my wife's memory by entering this place!”
As the words passed over his lips, Alivia loosed her arrow and dropped the bow to draw her daggers. Her aim was true, but she had learned never to underestimate a mage.
The arrow flew straight for Rothgar’s head. He raised his hand and shot forth a ball of flame, disintegrating the arrow mid-flight. “You call that an attack? A kitten would put up a better fight.” Laughter echoed through each word to taunt her.
Before he could say anything else, Alivia was already on him, one dagger slashing towards his throat, the other stabbing at his ribs. Rothgar dodged the attack and threw out a quick wave of heat to distance himself from his attacker. Once distanced, he took in more heat and threw another fireball.
Alivia barely escaped behind a table as the fireball exploded on the wall behind her, throwing hot stone everywhere. She was going to have to be more careful not to underestimate the mage's speed and agility. That last mistake had almost cost her life.
She rolled from the table to a pillar, subtly throwing one of her daggers mid-roll. The table burst into flames as she eluded another of Rothgar’s fireballs.
Rothgar barely sidestepped the dagger as it flew past, cutting a shallow gash into his shoulder. Blood dripped from the wound. “Much better. You actually drew blood with that attack. This might actually be a decent fight after all.”
But even as he spoke those words, his eyes glazed over from the poison coursing through his veins. He fell to one knee and then toppled over onto his side. Alivia slowly approached the dying man, wary of a last desperate attack.
“I’ll be taking your tome now. Apparently, I need to have a conversation with my buyer. This was supposed to be a simple snatch and grab,” Alivia said coldly. She never wanted anyone to get hurt, but she had to do what needed to be done. Besides, her heart was long dead to the guilt of murder.
As she bent down to take the tome, Rothgar stared at her with a look of relief. With his last dying breath and a twinkle in his eye, he spoke. “I was too much of a coward to take my own life. Oh, how I have missed my dear Elizabeth. Thanks to you, I can finally see her again.” With those last words, he faded from this world, his soul finally free.

2024.05.18 15:26 williamatherton New Sora Hidden Macro Tech: EASY IDJ Combo Inputs! Only Press X+A for the Entire Combo.

I basically discovered an unbelievably SIMPLE and EASY way to do IDJ combos on Sora, which only requires you pressing two buttons together, over and over. This is great, since you can focus all your attention on getting the timing correct, and removes any complicated/insanely difficult thumb movements. I have spend the past 8 hours, non-stop confirming this to be correct/repeatable, and not just a misinput. I swear on my life that this is real! I recommend practicing with Bowser at first, to start off easy. More details below:
This works on both Gamecube controller and Pro controller. To do any IDJ combo, simply lay your thumb across both jump (X) and attack (A) buttons. Arrow symbols in this guide indicate control stick input, with the opponent being positioned to the right of Sora. For the entire IDJ combo (Ars Arcanum, Nair loops, FaiDtilt Loops, all work with this tech), you will ONLY be pressing X+A buttons (simultaneously). Below I describe the input for Ars Arcanum (non-IDJ Nair12 > IDJ Fair12 > IDJ Nair12 > IDJ Fair12 > IDJ Nair12 > etc.)
First, we will start with a non-IDJ fast fall Nair12. This is standard for starting Ars Arcanum. This Nair12 likely needs to be slower than you'd expect. Try to press Nair2 somewhat close to the ground. 1) Input: X+A, ↓ X+A.
Once Sora has landed, he will have 13 frames of landing animation. During this time, we can add our input into the buffer system, and when the landing animation is over, it'll buffer our stored input. We will buffer an IDJ Fair1. A trick, watch for Sora's boots. When his boots are touching the ground, you must input X+A twice before his boots leave the ground. Being honest, you can literally mash X+A more than twice and it'll work. 2) Input: → X+A, X+A (very quickly)
Your IDJ Fair1 should come out naturally. Keep holding right, so Sora drifts towards his opponent. You will want to input fast fall Fair2 (↓ X+A) as close to the ground as possible, so you can stay close to your opponent. Otherwise, IDJ Nair in the following step may whiff. 3) Input: →(drift forward), ↓ X+A
Once Sora has landed, he will have 13 frames of landing animation again. This time however, we are going to be buffering an IDJ Nair1. This is simply pressing X+A twice really quickly, while keeping the control stick in the neutral position. Once again, watch for Sora's boots. You must press X+A twice before they leave the ground. Again, being honest, you can literally mash X+A more than twice and it'll work. 4) Input: X+A, X+A (very quickly)
Your IDJ Nair1 should come out naturally. All you must do is fast fall Nair2 at the appropriate time (↓ X+A). Notably, the IDJ Nair is much faster timing than the IDJ Fair was, so be ready to fast fall much sooner than you did in Step 3. 5) Input: (short pause), ↓ X+A
Sora has once again landed. From here, return to Step 2, where we will be buffering an IDJ Fair1. And that's it! You've finished the first loop of Ars Arcanum.
I'd be happy to take any questions or comments on this. I really hope some of the Sora mains on this subreddit give this new tech a try. The button presses can be really fast, and getting the timing perfect takes practice. But this is MUCH easier than trying to separately pressing jump, jump+attack to IDJ.
With this post, I mainly wanted to get the info out into the world for Sora mains to start experimenting with. I realize that text isn't the best form of describing the rhythm of Sora loop inputs. I will create a pretty/understandable graphics explaining this tech in Powerpoint in the near future. If you made it this far, thank you so much for taking the time to read all of this!!!

2024.05.18 11:50 Ok_Bullfrog_8491 Celebrimbor, St Sebastian, and Sauron

2024.05.18 04:26 Slime0 Animal Well hints-before-solutions non-spoilery Puzzle Guide

Animal Well hints-before-solutions non-spoilery Puzzle Guide
This is a non-spoilery guide to Animal Well that will give you hints first, and only full solutions if you reveal them. Click the leftmost spoilers first! This is intended for players who know they have a puzzle in front of them, but don't know how to solve it, or if they're supposed to solve it yet. It doesn't contain every puzzle in the game, and in particular it does not cover much of the early game stuff, or the super late game stuff that isn't even obvious there's a puzzle there, but hopefully it will grow to include the ones most people feel a need to ask about.
If you just want a walkthrough and don't mind spoilers, try A traveler's guide to Animal Well. I also recommend that guide if you're having trouble in the early game, or if you're trying to find the last egg or two, but don't scroll down farther than you need to if you want to avoid spoilers.
Before consulting this guide, especially if you have already seen the credits, you may want to check your map for any gaps in the walls, floors, or ceilings. Even a single pixel gap may mean you have missed an entrance. Disabling the scanline effect in the options menu can help find the gaps.
Each puzzle is categorized into:
The categories are provided to help you decide whether you want to read the hints yet or save the puzzle for later. In general, it is not worth worrying about the puzzles in the more advanced categories before solving the ones in the previous categories.

What's up with the bunny on the grass balcony near the starting area? (Late Game)

You can only reach this bunny from the room on the left. Reaching it is easier with a post-credits item. Use the disc and/or bubble wand to pass by the two large storks (3 rooms to the left of the bunny) and then use the bubble wand (the end game version of the bubble wand is easier) to go through the secret passage in the upper right of the room with the treasure chest. Use the bubble wand to pass through the spike room. The bunny can be "collected", but there is nothing to do with it now.

How do I get the disc from the angry ghost dog statue? (Also kind of looks like a ghost cat) (Required)

You can't defeat the ghost dog. You need a special item. This requires finding an item elsewhere that you can swap with the disc. The "mock disc" can be found by navigating the underground maze in the room one right and one up from the statue. To get there, you must first go far left from the statue.

How do I press all of the buttons in the room with the caged cats? (Required)

Experiment with the Yo-Yo in the room to the right of the caged cats. The Yo-Yo can be used to press the buttons in that room without going all the way down to them, and it can also be used on the animal in the wheel to make the moving walls switch directions. This wheel controls the left-or-right moving vertical walls, unlike the previous wheel you've encountered which controls the up-or-down moving platforms (elevator). In the room to the left of the caged cats, you need the vertically moving platforms to be going up. With the moving walls moving to the right, enter the room to the left of the caged cats. This should lead you to a fish pipe that takes you back up to the top of the purple palace area. From here, after exploding out the wall on the left, another fish pipe enables you to return to the caged cats area regardless of which way the vertically moving platforms are going. Use the Yo-Yo on the animal running in the wheel (just to the right of where the first fish pipe spit you out) to make the vertical platforms move down, then take the fish pipe on the left. You will have to jump to the left along the moving walls to return to the cat cage room. Use the room to the right of the cat cage room to make the moving walls move to the left again. Now reaching the button should be easy.

What's up with the large fish splashing in the lower left room (fast travel area)? (Optional, but worth solving early)

The fish is a puzzle that is related to the item you used to reach this area. Listen to the noises the fish makes. Look at the directions the fish is facing as it splashes. The fish is trying to teach you a song. Note: when playing songs, press the item button to bring out the flute, but then release it. Hold a direction with the D-Pad first, and then tap the item button to play a single note, and release it before changing the direction for the next note. The song is... ➡➡⬅⬅⬇⬇⬆⬆ and will teleport you to the fast travel room.

What is the "M. Disc Shrine" for? (Required)

You have already seen an item in the game with a name similar to "M. Disc". The item is the "Mock Disc", and you likely left it in the angry ghost dog statue (5 rooms down, 2 left). You must retrieve the Mock Disc and bring it to the M. Disc shrine. After picking up the Mock Disc, you can use fast travel (if you've learned it) to quickly get to the dog head fast travel point, or you can simply go to the right 2 rooms, up 3 (you opened the path here with the dynamite, right?), left 5, and up 1. Either way, you must then go from the dog head fast travel room 2 rooms to the right, and then either up and right or right and up (I find up then right to be easier by taking the top path), Right again, fall down the middle hole to flip the switch, up the ladder and to the right into the shrine. After placing the mock disc, the nearby door should open.

How do I get into the room just right of the M. Disc Shrine? (Optional)

You need the platforms (elevator) with the dog picture on them to be moving up instead of down. This requires a late game item. Look for an alcove along the shaft that the platforms pass by that has no other purpose. You must use an item in that room, 4 rooms down from the top of the map. Use the Remote in that room; it should explode out the wall on the left. The Yo-Yo can be used to make the dog running in the wheel change directions, which will make the platforms go up. Ride the platforms to the top.

What do I do about the vampire bat? (Optional)

The bat isn't the key to any kind of puzzle, but he can be scared away. Throw 3 firecrackers (one at at time) to scare away the bat. There are 3 firecrackers in the room to the left, which is helpful.

How do I free the caged cats? (Late Game)

The solution is hidden around this quadrant of the map. Take note of the ceiling boxes the cages hang from. These boxes respond to your flute. Each of the 5 cats requires a song to free, which can be found by searching this general area of the map. Look carefully for arrows on the background in secret spots around the purple palace. Using a light can help see them. For reference, the purple palace area has a phone just within its entrance, where you first encounter the moving platforms (elevator). The songs can be found at: (1) the location the Ostrich was found running in his wheel, (2) The small secret alcove accessible to the left of the room two rooms above the phone (it has a window into an unrelated room with bright ghosts moving up and down in a VVV shape), (3) A small hidden room in the upper left of the room below the phone (requires using an item that can dig one room to the left), (4) In the upper left of the room just above the phone (which contains the animal in the wheel). This can be reached from the room on the left, if you have the ability to reach the top of the room. It is possible to reach it with the normal bubble wand, but easier to do it with the end-game bubble wand., (5) In the lower-right most room that contained the flame. Notice how one of the platforms looks different from the others. Use the Slink on the right of the room to activate a button in the water. This lets you reach a hidden alcove at the top of the room. (General tips) Here is a map showing the locations (from the "travelers guide to animal well"): https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/2521530104091245968/4A81213ED4CCCE1BAFFB36B970BA2AD76C1D9457/ Near each song there are symbols in the wall that correspond to symbols above the cat cages, indicating where each song is used.

How do I get the treasure chest in the cage in the room with the large pacing ghost cat? (Late Game)

The solution to this puzzle is not in this room, but it is in the general lower right area of the map. The solution involves music, but you don't play the music in this room. Where else have you seen cages like the one the treasure chest is in? You must first free the 5 cats from their hanging cages. Then return to the treasure chest and the large cat will open it for you. See "How do I free the caged cats?" (above).

Where do I play the song I found in the background of the purple palace Ostrich area? (Optional)

Try using your flute in different rooms around the purple palace and see if you can find anything that responds to it. See "How do I free the caged cats? (above)

How do I get the treasure chest in the small room filled with spikes near the lower right of the map? (Optional)

This is only possible once you have gotten the treasure chest in the nearby room with the large pacing ghost cat (see above). That chest should give you the Wheel item. You can use it to roll over spikes.

What do I do with the mostly flat slightly concave U-shaped objects on the ground? (Late Game)

You need a special item to interact with these objects. See "How do I get the treasure chest in the cage in the room with the large pacing ghost cat?" (above)

After defeating the Ostrich boss in the lower right of the map, the blocks don't move anymore. Can I still get the treasure chest in the room to the left? (Late Game)

Yes, and if you don't know how, don't worry about it for now. See "What do I do with the mostly flat slightly concave U-shaped objects on the ground?" (above).

What do I do with the "recessed circle" pedestals? (Optional)

Each of these requires a separate circular item. None of them are related in any way to the disc or mock disc. (1) The one with the snake statue in the starting area requires the S medal, which can be found in the upper right quadrant of the map behind one of the spots where the large chameleon was first found. (2) The one two rooms to the right of the Sea Horse flame requires The E medal, which first requires lighting every candle in the map (there are 9), and then returning to the room to the left of the game's starting room and entering the fish pipe that should appear. Here are the candle and match locations (from the "travelers guide to animal well"): https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/2521530104090950184/C23385F72C001C2B66C7D4C8D53E0EB2DEC06814/ (3) The one with the kangaroo statue in the upper left of the map requires the K medal, which the kangaroo holds. The kangaroo appears randomly in 5 rooms throughout the map. You must use firecrackers on it 3 times. Here are the kangaroo locations (from the "travelers guide to animal well"): https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/2521530104091166441/AB982FD6D9A81A76CE7BBED17850085A870E31B0/ . As far as I know, the kangaroo only appears randomly, so you must travel to these locations over and over.

What's up with the grid of lights in the room just to the left of the game's starting room? (Optional)

The lights in this 3x3 grid light up as you accomplish a certain task throughout the world. Each light corresponds to a lit candle. Light all 9 candles in the world to open a secret passage. Here are the candle and match locations (from the "travelers guide to animal well"): https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/2521530104090950184/C23385F72C001C2B66C7D4C8D53E0EB2DEC06814/

What's up with the small scattered statues that have symbols and dice numbers on them? (Optional)

Each of these contains a map icon and a number. Mark them on your map (including the numbers) and the solution may become clear. After marking them on your map, you must connect the dots. Each symbol is a separate connect-the-dots puzzle, connected in order of the numbers. Once connected, each symbol should make the shape of a number. The numbers correspond to flute notes. Play the song to teleport to a secret.

How do I reach the room to the left of the dark room that is only accessible via fish pipe? (Obscure)

The community does not (yet?) know how to access that room, except by cheating. Sorry, this sentence isn't helpful either.

How do I get the treasure chest in the room with the two dog statues and the grass? (Obscure)

This room requires using information outside the game. The grass is the key. Does the grass remind you of anything you might find in the real world, not at all related to the game? The grass is a bar code. Scanning it reveals... the numbers 18756753. Play the corresponding notes on the flute.

How do I get into the secret in the top right of the room with the 3 dogs in the pit? (Late Game)

You need to switch the solid/empty block state and get between the two columns of switchable blocks while the ones on the left are solid and the ones on the right are not. The block state cannot be switched from within this room. You need a sort of teleportation mechanic to pull this off, so that you can switch the block state in a different room and then return to this location. You have probably already used the teleportation mechanic! You might even have been annoyed or frustrated by it. Falling into water teleports you to the last location you touched the ground. You can use the bubble wand and/or disc to move around without touching the ground. Yes, this is a rather difficult platforming challenge. You must stand between the columns, find a way to a room that can allow you to switch the block states, and then fall into water somewhere, all without touching the ground. There are at least two approaches to this that can work. One of them takes advantage of the fact that standing on a switchable block does not count as standing on the ground. Tip: shooting the bubble wand downward during a jump, landing on the bubble and jumping again, with good timing, can enable you to slowly move upward when there is a lack of horizontal space to work with. The easiest way to do this that I found is to use the (end-game version of the) bubble wand to go to the left 2 rooms, then up 2 rooms, in which the Remote can be used to switch the block state, then return down 1 room and to the right 1 room and fall into the water. However, another approach involves going to the right with the disc and standing on some of the switchable blocks. (I used the Lantern while falling into the water to avoid taking damage from the ghost faces, but I'm not sure that's required.) The Top can be used to distract the dogs, giving you more room to work with.

What can I do with the bunny mural? (Obscure)

Try using the Remote in the picture room. Also try using the Top in the revealed area. This should reveal a hint in the room below. However, it is not enough information to solve the puzzle. You need the help of other players to solve this puzzle. Every player gets a different hint. You can use https://philippgitpush.github.io/bunnymuralhelpe to pretend you worked with other players and solve the puzzle yourself. The solution is visible at https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/2521530104091456782/FF73FD9F5F41B3F772F44029A8E5221D943803AC/ (from "the travelers guide to Animal Well")

What do I do with the groundhog that retreats into his hole when I approach? (Obscure)

You can only interact with this animal at certain times. Specifically, only at a certain day of the year, depending on your system clock. The day is... groundhog day. See https://techraptor.net/gaming/guides/animal-well-groundhog-double-health-guide for more information.

How do I get the treasure chest behind the pile of skulls? (Obscure)

The skulls cannot be removed. However, the treasure chest doesn't contain any important item or even an egg or one of the end-game collectables. What do skulls represent in real life? Each skull represents one of your deaths. Start a new game and reach this room without dying to open the chest. The chest contains a figurine that will display in the house area.

How do I get into (and through) the room in the upper left of the map? (Optional)

Look for nearby holes in the walls and ceilings on your map. There is an exit at the top of the room with the two swordfish statues (right one from the room with the staircase into the water). You can reach that hole with the bubble wand, but I recommend learning how to reach it with the disc instead. It is possible to throw and land on a disc in a single jump without bouncing the disc off a wall. By raising the block in the staircase room (by using the Slink on the staircase), you can get the height you need to jump and land on a disc, bringing you to the swordfish statue room high enough to enter the hole at the top. The upper left room requires using this same trick. Jump and land on a disc to go through the first row of spikes. For the second row, you must do this twice without landing. Wait for the wall bounce before attempting the second jump.

What do I do with the eggs once I've found them all? (Late Game)

You should have 64 eggs. Use the UV Lamp on the eggs and on the room you found the flute in (2 rooms to the left). Each line on an egg represents a 1 (top), 2 (middle), or 4 (bottom). Add the numbers together for each egg. The numbers correspond to flute notes. This reveals a song. The eggs with no lines correspond to an 8 (↗). The song may not work at first. Consider the types of eggs that were collected. Some are special in ways that are relevant to this puzzle. There is one egg in particular, in the first half of the song, that is visually different from the others in a meaningful way. There is an upside-down egg. (Third from the left, second row.) Reverse the first and last lines on the upside-down egg. The final song is: ↖⬇➡⬇↖⬇➡⬇↖↙ ↘↙↖↙↘↙↗ ⬅⬇⬅↗⬅ ⬇⬅⬆⬅↘⬅⬆ ⬅↘⬅↖⬇➡⬇ ↖⬇➡⬇↖↙↘ ↙↖↙↘↙↖↗ ↖↙↗⬆⬅⬇⬆ ↖↙⬅⬆↖⬅↖. Playing it in the egg room should open a secret. There is also a 65th egg that you may have found, which is not relevant here.

How do I open the door in the top of the house? (Late Game)

First, solve all of the "Optional" puzzles. This door requires finding every egg. See "What do I do with the eggs" (above).

What is the incubator for? (Late Game)

First, solve all of the "Optional" puzzles. Find all of the eggs. Then, you can retrieve a 65th egg from the egg room. Bring it here.

What are the face icons in the skull room for? (Optional)

The direction of each face from the center of the circle corresponds to a flute note. The upper-right most room in the map contains a list of faces, as well as an image which is a hint as to where to use the song. The image is a classical illusion that appears to either be a duck or a bunny, depending on how you look at it. Play the song by the duck near the center of the map (just right of the flame beacons) to turn it into a secret bunny. The faces also appear in a special end-game room... when you use the Remote on the TV. Playing the song corresponding to these faces also reveals a secret bunny. The faces also appear on an enemy in one place...

What is the large spinning torus / donut for? (Late Game)

You can't do anything in this room until you have solved almost all of the puzzles in the game. Save it for last. However, you might want to try the UV light in this room for an unrelated secret. After completing the incubator room puzzle, you will reach an alternate area with another torus that teleports you to this one and back.

What is the large clock for? (Late Game)

You can't really do anything with the clock unless the doors are already open. Try using the UV lamp on the clock. If you beat the game within a certain number of minutes on a new save file, the doors will open. They contain... figurines that will display in the house.

What does the stop watch do? (Late Game)

The stop watch merely enables the clock on the pause menu.

What's up with the egg-shaped game machine? (Late Game)

You can jump into this machine from the top. It shows you how much distance you have traveled. If your distance traveled is low enough, there are fewer walls in the way, enabling access to the treasure chests. The treasure chests do not contain items that you need. The treasures are figurines that display in the house. At 100,000 steps, the number resets to 0, enabling you to get the treasures.

What's up with the kangaroo? (Optional)

The kangaroo appears randomly in 5 rooms throughout the map. It can be scared away, which will give you a reward. Use firecrackers on it. Here are the kangaroo locations (from the "travelers guide to animal well"): https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/2521530104091166441/AB982FD6D9A81A76CE7BBED17850085A870E31B0/ . Using firecrackers on it 3 times will give you the "K medal", which can be used... in the room to the left of the vampire bat room.

How do I defeat the fish boss with the skeleton body? (Optional)

Study the fish's attacks carefully. The fish does the same attacks in a certain order. The attack directions correspond to flute notes. The song is ↖⬇↙⬅↙↗↖. Play the song and then... Enter its mouth.

2024.05.18 04:00 EarthInternational9 I closed my Twitter, so new one marketing sex and sexual activity with my photos is going to be created because it's the propaganda that got Chinmaye elected.

Cheer for her. Fake profile scam. Sex work fulfilled by imposter though not me. She paid for the lookalike who had sex on film while pretending to be me? Vaughn Francis is her friend. She also got closer to my sister in laws because they bonded imagining doing mean stuff to my three kids and I!!! Female Indian version of the Hitler? After all she let people think symbol on Ganapati was White Supremacy symbol but she grew up in India??? In my afterlife, I will be bigger than her. Maybe she'll regret not being fair to me then. Laugh it up. Your actions created your own karma because you went too far!!!!!
Do you cheer because her friends at Facebook Live let her stream violence, murder or porn since March 2011 online without restrictions? If life were fair, she'd have no friends and have no job. Life isn't fair in this realm, but opposite of Justice. Nobody investigates her, but just scapegoating me for her crimes and her sins.
Chinmaye is determined to make me homeless and put all my stuff in the trash. Why? She left her husband in 2000. She never picked up her stuff. She told him she didn't plan to go back to him then. She had a car to pick up her stuff. She blames me for her losing stuff, so she wants me to lose twice as much as she did. She didn't have computer at Raj's house, but she wants mine gone so her friends will help her to ruin me! Her violence towards me is why I know that she was domestic violence batterer of RPM. Her friends encourage her violence and her anger. She left him on Valentine's Day and they were married for years before. I don't understand why she's upset about my kids or me if she left him.

2024.05.18 03:20 flyguy2490 Help with the Design for a People Group in My Story

Greetings, my authors and world crafters! Today, I come seeking your critiques and criticisms concerning a people group I have crafted for my story. Specifically, I am looking to see whether or not the cultural practices I have drawn and implemented from real people groups and religions as inspiration for their society comes across as respectful, and not as tokenism or appropriation.
I would also like to hear your thoughts and opinions regarding what I have developed so far, have any problems pointed out, and hear any questions you might have in the event I have left something glaringly obvious out or poorly explained.
For some context and as a reference point, this group, the Itsula’ganali (Drivers of the Ashen Herd), borrows heavily from the histories and lifestyles of Southern American Plains tribes such as the Comanche, Sioux, and Tonkawa. Particularly, that they are a nomadic tribe who follow the massive herds of a particular staple animal that provides them meat and resources to build their homes and tools. In this case, rather than bison, the Itsula’ganali hunt and drive a massive herd of mystical deer from whom they not only gather the means to thrive and survive but also receive protection from the titanic arcanely radioactive monsters that march across my world. Because when these monsters are nearby, and their radioactive ash begins to fall, the horns of the deer begin to vibrate and generate a field around them that moves them and the area around them out of phase with reality. Multiply that by a million times, and hundreds of miles will be kept safe from these titans.
So, the Itsula’ganali hold these deer in the highest regard as both the main source of their food, as well as the means for their people’s literal survival. As such, they not only protect the herd from predators, but cull weak and sickened members to keep predators from being tempted and prevent disease from spreading. But they do not maintain the herd alone. Riding with them are trained dogs that drive and isolate groups of the herd, falcons who go after the eyes of marked targets, and hawks who watch and signal for predators and straggling members. As well, they watch murders of wild ravens, crows, and vultures to see where deer have fallen, giving them an idea of what deer may be sick or where the predators in the area may be.
For religion, the Itsula’ganali practice a form of animism where they believe in a singular creator of the universe that imbued them and all things with a spirit, though humans are said to have 3 spirits or souls. The first is in the head and represents one’s mind/psyche, the second is in the liver and represents the life of the body, and the third is in the bones and represents the world/earth from which the body was sustained by and will return to. When a member of the Itsula’ganali dies, it is believed that the first soul, that of the mind, moves one to the silver plains where they can hunt and play for eternity. They are also able to stay behind, able to watch over their kin as a guardian and guide as either an animal or by inhabiting a tool or weapon. The second soul, that of the physical body, is returned to earth to serve as sustenance and nutrients for new growth and life. Lastly, the third soul, that of the bones, is likewise returned to the ground, but is used to enrich the and renew the spirit of the land itself.
To celebrate and honor both the spirits of the dead and those they hunt and hunt with, nights are treated with a sort of celebratory and religious revelry. Large feasts are held, with everyone partaking of the day’s hunt. Elderly, pregnant women, sick, wounded, and children are fed first, followed by the shaman and warrior caste. As they are eating, great dances and performances are held that are equal parts theater and mass. Great hunts are recreated with costumes made and adorned with ornaments and effects of both beast and hunter alike. Thanks are given to the hunters, the beasts who aid them in taking down their quarry, and the deer from whom they are given a chance at another eve to celebrate.
Shaman’s serve as spiritual leaders, healers, and teachers. Espousing a philosophy of balance in both body, mind, and the world around them. Teaching of attaining a mental and physical equilibrium, as well as preaching a harmony between the spirits of the tribe and those of nature. As despite having three, that spirit or soul is derived from the same source.
As such they search for signs in the birth, life, and death of all things. Smoking and imbibing plants and liquids derived from the realm of the sign. For example, a shaman might see a hawk fall from the sky. Taking this as a sign, he or she might look for a hawk’s nest, pluck materials from the tree and nest, distill it into a liquid they imbibe or set it alight so they might inhale the vapors. From there, their minds enter into the collective spiritual consciousness/flow of the region, and are able to see any abnormalities.
Aside from spiritual leadership and healing, Shamans bless their people with magic in the forms of poultices, special medicines that cure sickness, injury, and grant blessings to those who partake of them. Each poultice is derived from the physical and spiritual essence of the beasts who live alongside the Itsula’ganali:
Raven Poultice: increases intelligence and one’s ability to think more abstractly; allows for thoughts and feelings to be expressed perfectly to others
Dog Poultice: strengthens the sense of those who partake; allows one’s thoughts to better compartmentalize in order to work through problems and strengthen bonds.
Deer Poultice imbues the body with the strength and swiftness of the deer and helps to harmonize a party's thoughts and actions so that they move and act more in sync.
Hawk Poultice: Increases one's perception, giving a sense of looking beyond one’s body; allows one to slow one's thoughts down to better see and pick out details around them
Falcon Poultice: Improves aim and makes one fleeter of foot; allows for greater focus and concentration when completing tasks.
Despite their reliance on the deer, and the majority of the Itsula’ganali migrating with the herd, there do exist a spattering of permanent settlements within the plains region they drive the herd through. River posts partake of fishing and carry messages up and down the tributaries and streams crisscrossing the region using kayaks and rafts built from the bones and leather of the deer. Hill and plateau settlements serve as lookout points to gauge the direction and flow of the herd, as well as scope out any threats to the herd or tribe. Northern settlements bordering the Mist Wood construct forts and longhouses to tend to the sick and injured. Giving them and their families time to rest and recover in the event of sickness or injury on the hunt. As well, these camps serve as protection during times of aggression from other people groups and the mutated fauna that stalk the lands. Southern Settlements are the only Itsula’ganali who engage in trade with non-tribesmen. Having good relations with the peoples of the Southwest, they inhabit stone crafted fortresses and hollowed-out mesas and buttes and primarily serve as middlemen between the various settlements of the Itsula’ganali. Exchanging the water, meat, hides, bone, fish, and produce they procure along their travels for produce, metals, and weapons to both hunt more efficiently, and defend their territories from invaders from the East.
However, despite each settlement catering to a specific need of the drivers, each one offers medical care for hunters injured in the field and spiritual care for all members of the tribe. In the event of an injury, the wounded hunter and their family will be escorted to the nearest outpost, where they will swap out with a family within the settlement. They will do a symbolic exchange of goods and a ritual before the injured family takes over the home of the family who will join in driving the herd.
Gender does not have any encoded roles in Itsula’ganli culture, though there is a more male lean towards hunters and soldiers as well as a female lean towards crafting. But, should an individual display any merit or skill in any field necessary and useful for the survival of the clan, they will be welcomed to any such position. Members of the tribe are expected to be proficient in at least three different skills, one for out in the field during drives, and two for settlement life in the event of injury or if their drive tour is up. Paired tribesmen, Male/Female, Male/Male, and Female/Female, are both expected to have domestic skills for maintaining the home in the event that one or the other is called to drive. While one is hunting, the other is helping to maintain their living space, repairing equipment/clothes, prepping rations and supplies for the hunt, cleaning and preparing for the nightly feast, or taking care of any children they may have or be responsible for.
Children of the Itsula’ganli are always with their families, whether on the hunt or in the settlements. During the day, the children are either helping with the domestic duties of their families or are training with various tribal leaders to both develop skills useful for the hunt or in the camp/settlements. Skills such as tracking, hunting, and crafting are often taught through games and competitions between students, all save for prospective shamans. Apprentice healers and spiritual heads are chosen after careful observations and considerations of the children at work and at play. Typically those children more in tune with nature and with particularly strong oratory skills are selected, though certain omens at birth or in life might draw the attention of a shaman.
Games and past-times children play include hide and seek, archery competitions using stationary and thrown targets, deer breaking and riding, tracking targets hidden by their teachers/other kids, stick in the brush (shooting an arrow into the fields/forests and racing to see who can find it first). Adults are known to partake in archery competitions, deer breaking and riding, and tracking as well, however, during the nightly revelries, there will be song, poetry and dance competitions.
Thanks again for taking the time to read, critique, and comment. I am looking forward to any thoughts, questions, and criticisms you would like to share, and I hope you have a wonderful rest of your weekend.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are There Age Restrictions For The Water Parks?
One of the most important questions to ask when selecting a water park is whether or not there are age restrictions in place. After all, no one wants to end up somewhere that isn't suitable for them and their family's needs! Age limits vary from water park to water park, so it's essential to check before you go.
The good news is that many of the best water parks in the United States have little to no age limit on admission. This means that you can bring anyone along with you, regardless of their age – making these spots perfect for families with young children and adults alike. However, some parks may still impose minimum height requirements or other rules based on safety considerations. It's always worth looking into those details beforehand if they're available online.
Another thing to keep in mind is that certain rides at a given water park might be restricted due to age or physical size constraints. For instance, some thrill-seeking attractions could require riders to be over 14 years old (or even 16), while others may only accept adults 18 and up. In any case, it pays off to double-check what activities your group can partake in before hitting the road!
No matter where you decide to visit this summer season, being aware of potential age restrictions will help ensure everyone has an enjoyable time - without compromising safety standards or breaking any rules!
Do Any Of The Water Parks Offer Discounts For Large Groups?
Are you looking to take a group of people on an exciting water park adventure? Before you plan your trip, it’s important to know if any of the water parks offer discounts for large groups. It could make or break your budget!
Fortunately, many popular water parks across the United States have special offers for larger parties. For instance, some may require at least ten guests in order to receive a discount, while others are more flexible and will give discounts even when there is only a small party size.
It's also worth considering other money-saving options such as family packages or season passes. These can be great value deals that provide access to the best attractions throughout the summer months. Furthermore, some water parks even host special events where entrance fees are reduced – allowing everyone to enjoy all the thrills without breaking the bank!
No matter what type of savings you're after, researching different options beforehand is always recommended before visiting any of America’s top water parks. That way, you can find out which ones suit your needs best and have an unforgettable time with friends and family.
Are There Lifeguards On Duty At All Times?
Are there lifeguards on duty at all times? Talk about the million-dollar question! It's a hyperbole, but it feels like your safety is worth its weight in gold when you're splashing around and having fun at a water park.
The answer to this crucial query is – yes! Most if not all water parks have certified lifeguards patrolling every area of their premises and ensuring that everyone follows the rules. They are well-trained and experienced professionals who can assist visitors with any concerns or issues they might have during their visit. Furthermore, many of these lifeguards also possess advanced first aid certifications, making them ideal for dealing with medical emergencies should they arise.
Not only do these lifeguards play an important role in keeping guests safe while enjoying the attractions and slides, but they also help ensure that everyone has a pleasant and enjoyable experience by enforcing policies that guarantee everyone’s enjoyment without compromising anyone’s safety or privacy. With attentive eyes watching over proceedings, you can rest assured knowing that you’re in good hands no matter what kind of situation arises.
It goes without saying then; next time you're off to enjoy some wet n' wild fun at a water park make sure to take comfort in the fact that there will be experienced professionals providing continuous supervision throughout your stay!
Are There Any Water Parks That Are Open Year-Round?
Are there any water parks that are open year-round? We all know how much fun it is to visit a water park during the summer, but what about if you want to go swimming and splash around outside of the traditional season? Fortunately, there are some great options available for those looking for an aquatic adventure that doesn't have to be limited by time.
These days, more and more water parks are offering extended hours or even being open all year round. This means that you can enjoy thrilling rides, cool off in refreshing pools, and lounge on deck chairs whenever you, please! Plus, many of these parks offer additional attractions such as mini golf courses or arcades so that visitors can make the most out of their day trips.
When choosing which water park to visit, it's important to consider whether or not lifeguards will always be present. Most popular spots employ qualified staff who monitor the facilities at all times – ensuring everyone has a safe experience while having fun. Additionally, most locations also offer discounted admission prices for seniors and memberships for frequent visitors. So no matter when you decide to take your next plunge into a pool of fun, rest assured knowing that safety isn't something you'll need to worry about when planning your aquatic escape!
Is There A Way To Purchase Discounted Tickets For Multiple Water Parks?
Are you looking for a way to experience the joy and excitement of multiple water parks without breaking the bank? If so, then you're in luck! There are plenty of ways to purchase discounted tickets for multiple water parks throughout the US. From special deals on group tickets to discount programs available at certain locations - this article will guide you through everything you need to know about finding the best value when it comes to visiting different American water parks:
Look out for promotions from individual park websites
Check social media platforms for limited-time offers
Take advantage of student discounts
If you’re willing to do some research, there are countless opportunities that can help make your aquatic adventure more affordable. Visiting multiple water parks over the course of one summer is a great way to get outdoors while having fun with friends or family – but only if you can find an economical option that fits your budget. That's why researching online ahead of time is key. Many parks have regular specials and promotions which include discounts on tickets, food, merchandise, and even complimentary admission days!
It's also helpful to search social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter as well as various other online forums where people post exclusive deals they've come across during their own visits. Additionally, many universities offer student discounts making it easier than ever before for college students who want to explore America's finest water parks on a shoestring budget!
So don't let money be an obstacle preventing you from experiencing all the thrills and chills associated with water rides, wave pools, and lazy rivers across our nation - whether it's just one trip or several trips throughout the year. With a little bit of research and planning upfront it’s possible to make your dream vacation happen!
Conclusion
In conclusion, water parks are a great way to have some family fun in the United States. With so many options available for safe and enjoyable experiences, it can be hard to choose which one is right for you and your group. However, by asking questions such as age restrictions, discounts for large groups, lifeguard availability, and year-round operating hours before booking tickets, you can make sure that everyone has an amazing time.
The joy of riding down a waterslide or floating on a lazy river symbolizes freedom from everyday stressors. The energy created when laughing with friends while splashing around brings people together as no other activity can. Each person should take advantage of the opportunity of visiting these spectacular places during their travels across America - creating memories to last a lifetime!
So if you're looking for a place to cool off this summer – why not visit one of the best waterparks in the United States? Whether I'm young or old there's something here for everyone – making it perfect for families and friends alike. I know I'll be planning my next trip soon!

2024.05.18 00:03 betri9onland Starting multiple accounts from 0

So for context i need to grow an audience in 3 niches each of them is getting a bit complex so i'm going to explain:
1 : in my country people/stores open Instagram pages to market clothes then sell them either in the store or by delivering with payment at delivery (online payment is almost illegal in most cases) so i opened an account that just reposts all these stores into a single place just like a catalogue to find stores nearby it's still in it's infancy but i'd like some pointers for mistakes to avoid or tips to help (it's on ig,tiktok and soon Facebook)
2 : a motivation/finance/millionaire type theme page but the problem with this one is the demography as i said about online payment in my country + the fact that English is disastrously low and local mentality it would never work if i don't find a way to target us audience (btw this one is also a repost type that gives credit but i dont plan on making it a catalogue like the first one) (it's on TikTok,ig and soon telegram)
3 : this one is tricky an "Amazon home finds" pretty self explanatory my hope for this one is an affiliate plan but i'd run into the same problem with the second business aka demography can't expect people to buy from Amazon when taxes on shipping are outrageous (110% on computers, 100% phones, ~98% on every electronic...) besides no one would by a cool stick for their kitchen that costs them an entire salary so i need to target us audience
Ik that i'm trying to run after 3 chickens hoping to catch one but keep in mind that i literally dedicated all 24h of the day to this even at work i got rid of my desktop and keep airpods on so no one interrupts me while i'm doing this
i'd really love to hear solutions to these problems especially from people who live in Africa and went through similar struggles

As the leader of the Malta Catholic Democratic Party (MCDP), I would like to express our profound appreciation for the successful completion of the Kalkara square regeneration project. This initiative has transformed the heart of Kalkara, creating a vibrant and welcoming space for families, residents, and visitors alike.
The project, which includes 16,500 square meters of open space, a 3,000 square meters pedestrian area, a new playground, street furniture on the promenade, a new lighting system, and the planting of trees, is a testament to our commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our community1. It not only beautifies the area but also serves as a modernized hub for social interaction and cultural activities.
We believe that such projects are essential in preserving the unique character and heritage of our localities while promoting sustainable development. The MCDP stands firmly behind initiatives that prioritize the well-being of our citizens and the environment.
Furthermore, we commend the Grand Harbour Regeneration Corporation (GHRC) for their dedication to this project, and we recognize the importance of collaboration between government entities and local councils. It is through such partnerships that we can achieve remarkable improvements in our urban landscapes.
Let this regenerated square be a symbol of our dedication to community values and our vision for a future where development and tradition go hand in hand. We pledge to continue supporting similar projects that reflect our party’s ethos of caring for people and the places they hold dear.
The MCDP looks forward to seeing the positive impact this project will have on Kalkara and the surrounding areas, and we remain committed to fostering spaces that enrich the lives of all Maltese citizens.

2024.05.17 23:01 sinomaltanews French post office celebrates baguette with scented stamp

https://timesofmalta.com/article/french-post-office-celebrates-baguette-scented-stamp.1092654?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Facebook&fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR0AWY4tkS2FNlekZF0WN7I17F3sciwlh7Hyj332m_27yk749GDFU4eUhU0_aem_ARftXcbuTx-AeITTGqiGQn0nUpLfU2nV7Syyjmef17g6DFq3kAHl65f8IbYHRWMFgF3Ele5HDOviBQ2ogR1oTyyM#Echobox=1715972542
As the leader of the Malta Catholic Democratic Party (MCDP), I would like to express our delight and appreciation for the French Post Office’s innovative celebration of the baguette, a beloved symbol of French culture and gastronomy. The introduction of a scented stamp, which carries the aroma of this iconic bread, is a testament to the creative spirit and the importance of preserving and honoring our culinary heritage.
The baguette, which has been recognized by UNESCO for its cultural significance, is more than just food; it represents a tradition that brings people together, embodying the values of sharing and community. This scratch-and-sniff stamp is not only a tribute to the baguette but also an inspiration for us in Malta to find unique ways to celebrate our own national treasures.
We commend the French Post Office for this initiative and see it as an opportunity to foster a greater appreciation for the artisanal crafts and traditions that form the fabric of our European identity. Let us take this moment to reflect on how we can continue to cherish and promote our diverse cultural expressions in similarly innovative ways.

Q sat at his desk, hunched, introspective, head on his folded arms.
His apartment wasn’t small but never got much use since he preferred to be busy outside most of the time. He was happy to share it out on nights he stayed at the Academy and was actually glad at least someone made this place liveable. Home-cooked food in his fridge, little tokens of gratitude on the shelves, small repairs here and there were all his fellow citizens’ doing as he himself almost never took advantage of the furniture and appliances beyond the computer desk, the bed, and the shower. The closet got some use when Q’s usual uniform-like outfit was in the cleaning and he just picked whatever others left there. Despite the apartment’s current occupant living there for more than a decade, the place looked like a strange mix of a spartan barrack and a high-end furniture showroom with untouched surfaces and pristine carpets that rarely were anything but looked at.
These past several days, however, he spent home more time than ever before. The day at the sewers with Iliya still occupied his thoughts. Besides, the young man was suspiciously quiet recently, not returning Q’s texts and never showing up at his classes.
Now that Q got his hands on the proverbial bird in the bush, he expected to experience the high he had been chasing in his fantasies since forever. Having his crush reciprocate his feelings, be so forward and open to his affection had been something unattainable but now that he had it... It failed to excite him to the point he’d expected.
What was going on?
It was a long time he had any need to call for the Turk. After all, he was usually able to figure out most of the problems for himself and didn’t rely on the AI avatar as much as in his teens anymore but it seemed like now was a good time.
“Turk?” he called, lifting his head from the arms curled on the interactive touch-sensitive desk.
“Yes?” popped up the little 3D helper, a full replica of the figure sitting on the central square save for the chessboard. Q hadn’t activated his auglasses but even so, he could see the translucent little man saluting him. The sound waves that the state-of-the-art desk generated made hearing his tiny voice audible, too. These same airwaves that produced the sound could be used to manipulate light objects on the desk surface. As a teen, Q used to entertain himself playing paper ball with the Turk: he’d flick the crumpled notebook page with his fingers along the surface and his playmate would try and goalkeep the opposite edge of the desk. It also brought Q pencils. Or reminded him to get some rest with a gentle tap on his forearm if the young student got too absorbed in an assignment.
“I’m having trouble connecting some dots,” the man said. “But I don’t think rationality will help me this time. It’s something that has to do with emotions. The data I have is patchy so wrong conclusions might be devastating.”
“It’s a common misconception, my friend, that rationality and emotions are opposite,” the little avatar said in response. It didn’t sound like it held a grudge over a long time it was kept inactive. “There’s nothing in this reality some good inferential analysis can’t deal with.”
Was the Turk really offering him to collect statistics on his sexual fantasies and deduce what might be wrong with his desires towards Iliya? The little guy never failed to make Q laugh. But the hologram looked dead serious and... even expectant?
“Shall we start then?” the Turk asked, lighting up the desk surface with a network of diagrams, arrows, formulas and symbols.
Covering his eyes in shame, Q nodded.
It was about an hour later that several things were indisputably clear.
“The first reliable prediction is that an intimate encounter with a person you find attractive is likely to be satisfying provided you’ve established some personal connection prior,” said the Turk, looking at the data glowing under his minuscule feet.
“Well, no surprise here,” Q confirmed. “Out of almost three dozen scenarios we entered, personal connection was present in nearly 95%.”
“Yes, but another attribute is also statistically significant: most of the relationship dynamics were uneven,” the Turk went on. “It’s ofter a tutor and a student, or a captive hostage and a terrorist, a survivor and a...”
“You don’t have to say them out loud, Turk!” the man flushed, pushing his index finger to cover the avatar’s mouth to make him stop. “It’s all there in writing.”
“What I mean,” the 3D model said, pushing the pad of the finger away with both hands. “Is that there’s always some kind of extreme power dynamics that you seem to enjoy... maybe too much?”
“Hmm.. That’s precisely the reason why I asked Iliya to stop calling me his teacher. I might find it attractive in my thoughts but in real life, it’s just... wrong.”
“Yes, but you’re missing something,” — it was the Turk’s favourite catchphrase. Q developed a strong distaste for this sentence which didn’t stop him from using it on his own students, however — “What is another attribute you’re ignoring?”
“I don’t know, what?”
The Turk sighed. When Q wasn’t in the mood to solve a puzzle, no amount of pointers could make him.
“In nearly all of your scenarios, it’s you who plays the submissive part, regardless of the act itself. Your partner is always the one with the power.”
***
ARE YOU COMING TO MY NEXT LECTURE? TOMORROW AT NOON
Sent.
Q tapped the desk again after sending the text, impatient for a response.
So this was it, wasn’t it? He didn’t feel much because it was his younger partner that assumed a submissive role. What was he expecting then? For Iliya to pin him to the wall and coax helpless sounds out of his teacher?
Ding.
HI! SORRY, BUSY TOMORROW. TEXT YOU LATER
Huh.
I WAS WORRIED YOU DIDN’T ANSWER. IS EVERYTHING OK?
He wrestled with an urge to add “between us”.
YEA. JUST DIDN’T HAVE THE COMM WITH ME
He... what?
Did Iliya take it off? What for?
OK. BE SAFE
What was that about? This was definitely a week of weird realisations. First, the inexorable statistical analysis revealed that he couldn’t enjoy an encounter unless he wasn’t the one submitting.
Now his... his what? Crush? Boyfriend? His... Iliya apparently wasn’t eager to see him despite being more than enthusiastic mere days before. On top of that, apparently, he wasn’t at all ashamed to admit he didn’t wear the comm all the time!
How come?
Of course, it wasn’t illegal or anything but it definitely warranted a closer monitoring of the wearer. No upright citizen who had nothing to hide would feel the need to take off the tracking device!
Q kicked the back on his chair and dragged his palms down his face.
Was he being paranoid again? Did the conversations with Sereen make him distrustful? Or was it because of Sereen’s influence that Iliya felt the need to play a nonconformist?
Why was it all so hard! Why couldn’t everyone just do what they’re told and live together in accord?
Knowing only one way to deal with his anxiety, Q decided to occupy his mind with the preparation for tomorrow’s lecture.

2024.05.17 18:40 ILBOI_X Speculating what the new mob/boss in the latest Elden Ring Tweet is all about

Speculating what the new mob/boss in the latest Elden Ring Tweet is all about
the new Elden Ring tweet
First of all, we can obv see that this thing has horns (just like many creatures we see in the Land of Shadow in the trailer!), so it's either a being with connections to the Crucible, just like creatures who bear Budding Horns that are said to be vestiges of the crucible,
https://preview.redd.it/d6hd8y27001d1.jpg?width=370&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=89b1ffc285a3bf2bc65678003c730802f3804019
Budding Horn Image and Item Description courtesy of Fextralife Wiki
or maybe it's a cursed Omen being just like Morgott and Mohg! This creature possesses similar horns, grey skin, and white hair like the Omens we see in-game, and even has a cloak similar to Morgott's!
Common Omen enemies in-game
Mohg and Morgott, Omen Twins
This creature may even have some interesting connections to Godwyn! Notably, it appears to be doing the same pose as Godwyn when he was assassinated on the Night of Black Knives, also the same pose he remained doing till present day in the Deeproot Depths. That line on the creatures back also looks a bit similar to the cursemark on Godwyn's back that killed his soul but not his body. Could this creature be soulless, too?
Godwyn the Golden, assassinated in the Night of Black Knives
Godwyn the Prince of Death in the Deeproot Depths
Now for a bit of heavier speculation. We know that there's such thing as Deathblight Flame which is gold and black in color as we see from the Eclipse Shotel, but weirdly enough, there's also a nameless flame that the Omens use which I call Accursed Flame, said to be vengeful spirits of those who died cursed, which is also gold and black in color! There's been some speculation on these similarities, people have been trying to make connections to these things but have never really found a solid answer as although they look very similar, conceptually, they're very different. There also doesn't seem to be anything in the item descriptions or anywhere that can link the two.
What if this new creature is our missing link? A being that may be connected to the Omen curse that may also be connected to Deathroot! Maybe through this creature's story, we'll finally find the connection we've been looking for in our speculations, initially sparked by the similarities in color of the two flames
Gold-Black Deathblight Flame from the Eclipse Shotel
Gold-Black \"Accursed\" Flame used by an Omen
that would be huge if true. if ever it is dont forget u (hopefully) heard this connection from me first ok >:(
jk but now onto lighter speculation
similarities to godskin bracelets??? they do look similar but this might be a stretch
Godskin Noble & Godskin Apostle Bracelets
maybe they're more similar to Messmer's bracelets
giant red arrow
Also, take a look at those sick ass Glaives straight out of Dark Sector (only real ones know!) They reminded me of the giant Bone Boomerang thrown by the Orb-Head Skeleton Horse Rider Thing. Wouldn't it be cool if Boomerangs were a new weapon type!? After all, there are 8 confirmed new weapon types in the DLC, and Miyazaki has only named 5 in interviews, saying that the other three are "more peculiar and highly novel"
Orb-Head Skeleton Horse Rider Thing
Screenshot from a Dexerto article, detailing an interview with Miyazaki
This is the biggest stretch out of them all lol, but for the creature's mask, what came to my mind immediately was D's Mask or Guardian Masks, maybe House Marais, Hoslow Masks or Tanith's?
I say D and Guardian bc they're also gold masks (yes i did think of Goldmask but they look nothing alike lol).
Guardians are also related to Minor Erdtrees, and if im seeing correctly, the things sprouting from the creature's right eye appears to be flowers or leaves? So they mite both be gold masks related to trees. Maybe the creature could even be a Guardian of the Shadow Erdtree
I also say Hoslow bc Hoslow's Helm has flowers covering its face, just like the creature's mask might have too
A Marais connection would be cool as I see many speculate that they'll play a part in the Land of Shadow, but I doubt any of these are right lol I'm just throwing ideas at the wall with this one
The Masks I mentioned
Lastly, that mist around the creature, its stance, weapons, and just overall vibe makes me think its some form of assassin, which made me think... what if its an Assassin of the Two Fingers!?
We know the Two Fingers appointed assassins to hunt down Tarnished that have strayed from Grace, even providing them incantations such as Darkness and Assassin's Approach, which the creature could be using a version of those incants, explaining the mist around it, or maybe its even using Crepus' Vial, "a small mysterious bottle with a dark mist sealed within" that more likely could be the mist!

Those ideas were quickly shut down however when I recalled those Two Finger Assassins were previously Tarnished who served the Roundtable Hold, and this thing is clearly not Tarnished lol. (Could still be a Tarnished ig just one who transformed into this thing??? but very unlikely)
But maybe not all were shut down. We know that the Land of Shadow is kind of like a "dark counterpart" to the Lands Between, so maybe, as above so below, these are the assassins of the Land of Shadow, similar to the ones from the Lands Between but different. Maybe even appointed power by a counterpart to the Two Fingers, or hell, maybe just the Two Fingers themselves. We barely know anything about them so I wouldn't be surprised if their origin was lying in the Land of Shadow after all.
This assassin theory could be strengthened by the previous theory that the bracelets they have are similar to Messmer's, meaning that they might be in the same faction serving the same purpose. We know from a voice line in the trailer that "Those stripped from the Grace of Gold shall all meet death in the embrace of Messmer's Flame". Remembering the purpose of the assassins I mentioned earlier, they basically have the same motive as Messmer, so it wouldn't be too farfetched to say they're connected somehow!
I also remember Ziostorm mentioned in a video that the symbol on the Hood of Confessors (who are basically just assassins) might be of Messmer's spear!

or maybe they have nothing to do with assassins, but the creature is the source of the mysterious mist in Crepus' Vial, who knows
Hoarah Loux Bossfight
Mist seems to be coming from Hoarah Loux during his attacks, thats most likely just steam from body heat lol but maybe him and the creature have a similar fighting technique that emits mist?? Hoarah Loux does seem to be a bit more than human with his power to create earthquakes with his hands so idfk lmao
Maybe none of this is right, maybe all of it is, but whatever the case, this creature looks so cool and I can't wait to fight it lol, beit as a mob or a boss.
(possibly) A souless omen boomerang-wielding assassin who works for Messmer and the Shadow Erdtree. Badass.
But that's all I've got! Didn't expect the post to be this long or for me to take this long to make it but here we are lol. Got to typing as soon as I saw the image. I feel like I got some solid observations and also a lot more tinfoil-hat ones lol, only time will tell if any of these are right. Hope you got something out of this post! Please comment all your observations too I'd love to read them! Also if anyone at all is interested, I have a Youtube Channel called ILBOI_X where I'll be posting an original theories video this month before DLC releases, so if you're interested in more tinfoil hat theories consider checking that out!

2024.05.17 14:15 OrlonDogger A Witch at Midnight - Chapter 15

[First] [Previous] [Next]
For a moment I am shocked. If I had expected anyone to be here, aside from the Librarian herself, it would be Ricardo! But I guess the world is trying to surprise me today? Then again, considering the rumors, miss Pelafina wasn’t that much of an outrage either.

Then it hits me. What does she mean ‘took you long enough’, huh!?

She was waiting for y—

Yes I get that part! Was this whole deal a game for her?

I take my first steps towards her, a little indignant and I feel it is justified, but then I notice something in the corner of my eye. Movement. I immediately turn on my heels to face it: there’s shades of black in the darkness, at least in one spot. Soon, a figure steps up from the corner of the room, dressed in a long black cloak, dressing pants and elegant shoes. The hood covers their head and some magical darkness obscurs their eyes, but I can see a few locks of green hair slip from underneath the shadow.

The figure lifts a hand, they are even wearing black gloves! That’s some commitment to the bit.

“Yo. The name is Lucía. Sorry for skulking around but it is kind of my job; I assume you already know Overseer Pelafina?” She smirks. “She gets around! She said she was waiting for a Bastard to arrive but, Hell, we thought it was just an excuse of hers to skip work!”

“I am very responsible, excuse you.” Pelafina frowns, shaking her head softly. “Ignore Lucy, dear. She’s just my assigned guard, here to keep me safe!”

Her assigned guard? So she IS with the Cloaks after all! I mean, if the cloak she’s wearing wasn’t indication enough. I don’t like her, not one bit. She’s smiling too much, just balancing on her heels and toes while I stand there. I don’t wanna say I hate her, we’ve barely exchanged words… but I don’t like her. Not one bit.

I decide to take Pelafina’s words to heart and ignore her, when another thing hits me.

Overseer Pelafina!? But you’re just the lady from the bookstore!” I think my eyes are going to jump right out of my skull like in one of those old cartoons.

“A girl has to move up in this world if she wants to survive.” The old lady chuckled, just a little bit. “You know my name, but I never truly caught yours though. How do we call you, dear?”

Fuck, here we go with names again… but hey, maybe this is a great chance to build a new identity for myself!

“People call me Tav.” I say, trying to puff up my chest a bit.

“That was not what she asked though!” Lucía intervenes with a singsongy voice.

“Oh let her have her own nom de guerre, Lucy. It’s adorable!” Having these two messing with me is really going to be bad for my health. I’ll have to endure it though. “Alright then, Tav. If you’re here, I assume you managed to read through the book at least a bit?”

I flinch. Just how much does this woman know? Did she know the contents of the book from the start? Is this a weird ‘Hero’s journey’ situation? A mysterious adventure she has sent me into so I grow as a person?

Or is she just fucking with me.

“Well? Don’t keep me waiting! It’s been days!” Pelafina insists with a twinkle shining in her eyes.

“... I have a few words translated.” I managed to say.

“Oh great! So Humiko left you hints. That’s great.”

“Miss Pelafina–”

“Please, just call me P.”

“Uhm. Miss P.” I gulp. “Just how much do you know of the book, exactly?”

“Well, Humiko asked me personally to keep it safe, so that’s one thing.” The overseer counts with her fingers. “I know it is written in Magic Runes, which… shouldn’t be possible, and yet, there it is! I trust Humiko enough to know it has to be real.”

“Wait.” I blink. “What do you mean ‘shouldn’t be possible’?”

“Magic is not a language, or at least it hasn’t been understood as one until… well, right now.” The old lady smiles a bit wider. “If you manage to make more sense of it than a few phrases, you’d be making history, boy!”

Again with the damn gendering… I frown a little bit but, try not to make it too visible. I gotta focus.

Yeah, get it together. This is not the time for your ridiculous whining.

Sigh.

“So you know what the book is, but you don’t know what it says.”

“To be honest, I am not really sure what it is either.” Pelafina admits with an embarrassed grin. “All I know is that it is a project Humiko had for a long time already, and according to her express instructions, the hints could only be read by a sleeper.”

I haven’t really checked if I can no longer check Humiko’s note in the book, so there’s homework for when I return.

“I am sorry we put this on you with deceit and all, but would you have really believed me if I said ‘You have to study magic’ just like that?” The old lady shrugs. “It was necessary, and if Ricardo could see the potential in you, then this was surely the correct choice.”

“Is Ricardo an Overseer too?” I feel like that is a sensible question.

“Oh heavens no, he’s a Sleeper. Not a word of this to him, you hear me?” P’s gesture grows severe for a moment. “I don’t want him involved in such things at his age. He had enough adventures already.”

I guess the rumors of Ricardo being a world-trotting adventurer are also true. Huh.

“So. Tell me, what did you learn?”

She’s very eager… I can notice Lucía’s gaze on me, too. They are both very, very eager.

This doesn’t make sense.

Right? It’s all wrong.

The book’s first warning was to avoid the cloaks, and yet here’s P! Just hanging out with this one, talking about the book like it’s nothing!

Well, if it’s true that she doesn’t know the contents, I can lie through my teeth!

“Well… I’ve learned a few characters. Do you have somewhere to write?” My body suddenly relaxes, my demeanor tightens. I may be bad at many things, but lying? I was born lying in this world and I can keep it up no matter what.

“Ah, sure. Lucy!”

The guard walks up to me casually, offering me a fancy black leather notebook decorated with a golden apple and a silver arrow piercing it. She even opens the yellow pages for me, and provides a cheap plastic pen.

I nod, and quickly begin scribbling.

I scribble ‘Tlo’i’, ‘Golthoi’ and ‘Thako’ with their respective symbols.

“There. These are the ones I’ve learned.”

Lucía looks at me dead in the eye for a moment. I can feel the sharpness of her wit, she’s trying to read me… but it will be useless. I am in a dissertation now, bitch. I’ve been doing these for years, it’s my one skill.

“Interesting.” Lucía nods.

“So, what do these mean?” Pelafina approaches us to check on the symbols. “Terrible calligraphy, by the way.”

“Yeah, I know.” The confidence abandons me for a moment, before I puff up my chest again and begin talking. “The first one is the word for ‘Butterfly’. The second one is a word for the action of turning something on, the third one… I am not sure yet.”

“When used on a spell, it makes the effect happen upon touching the glyph.” Lucía knows. “It’s a very common one.”

“Glyph?” I tilt my head.

“She means a combination of Runes, dear.” P smiles warmly. “Alright, so ‘Butterfly’, ‘Ignite’ and ‘Touch’, then?”

I never said ‘Ignite’ for Golthoi, but I guess that is a interpretation of it?

… Interesting. That these things have different meanings in different contexts, would that affect casting?

“Ah, I also found this.” I draw ‘Jo’ in the book. “Does this mean anything?”

“That one is used to counteract spells. If you draw this in a Glyph, it cancels its effect.” Lucía seems happy to provide the knowledge I lack.

I actually appreciate it, for it immediately made something click in my brain.

“It means ‘No’.” A voice whispers in my head, my own voice.

Yes. It’s a negative. That’s why it isn’t so common on its own. When added to another symbol, it negates it. ‘No-Light’ must be a way to say ‘Darkness’ or such… or… backwards, ‘No-Darkness’ equals ‘Light’.

Would this be dependent on the culture?

I smile a little bit to myself. This knowledge I will keep up my sleeve for now.

“What’s that smile for? Did you see something new?” Lucía is way too sharp to keep that smile from. I have to make something up quick.

“I realized I now know how to counter spells. That’s so cool…” I whisper to myself, channeling some of that wonder into my lie.

She seems to buy it, for she immediately focuses on correcting me.

“Knowing the Counterspell Rune is not enough, there are other factors to consider, so don’t go around trying to counter every spell so quickly.” She give me a smile I really dislike.

“Hmmm… well, that’s plenty for now,if that is all.” Pelafina shrugs softly. “It is quite late already… go back home for now, Tav.”

“B-But. I have so many questions!” I immediately pout. Saints damn it, so close to learn actually useful stuff!

“Yes, but sadly I cannot teach you. As the Overseer, I am bound by oath to remain neutral and not show favoritism for anyone.” The woman shrugged. “So, I can’t really teach you much. But, if you identify more words, I can definitely give you a few more pointers!”

“Fine…” A defeated sigh escapes my lips. So I’ll have to buy knowledge with knowledge, hmm? I look at Lucía for a second.

“Nope. I am too young to teach.” She immediately denies me.

“Tsk.” I look down… but then, an idea comes to me. Just a confirmation I need to get. “Can I check more stuff online? Maybe there’s resources out there…”

Pelafina frowns, looking at Lucía and waiting for her to explain. She eventually does, with a sigh.

“The process of getting on the internet as a mage is hard. You need a special router and everything, it’s honestly not worth it.” The guard shakes her head. “If you want, we can provide you one next time. But really, there aren’t many resources online for this… mages are isolationists, usually.”

Ah hah! So they don’t know of the forum! Alright then, that’s another point to my advantage.

“I don’t think I’ll need that, I have enough with mundane internet thank you very much.” I chuckle a little bit.

“I never got the so called ‘interwebs’ to be honest.” P grins. “Now, off to bed you go. Shoo, shoo. Remember coming back here at night, alright? That’s when it is nice and empty.”

Honestly, a nice and empty place to try and translate sounds fine to me. But I can just do that at home…

Besides. These people are dripfeeding me the information I need, so they are probably not trustworthy in the slightest.

I feel a little bad for not trusting Pelafina immediately, but…

She threw you into this mess without consent.

Yeah, fuck her.

Right.

“Alright then, I am going. Thank you again for everything, miss P!” I fail to hold back a yawn as I turn around and stand on the stairs. They… are still going up. “Uh.”

“The other stairs dear, there’s a magic escalator down.” Lucía tries not to laugh at my face, and fails.

“A-Ah, thank you.”

With a heavy sigh, I take the right escalator this time and disappear down the stairs. Looking at my clock, it’s already three in the morning…time to sleep for sure.

With some luck, the pillow will make this all make much more sense.

As Tav finally disappeared from the Elysium, and the sound of a closing door echoed through the room, Pelafina let out a little sigh, shaking her head.

“This isn’t going to work.” She commented, crossing her arms. “This girl is no good.”

“She seems smart enough. The type to keep notes….” Lucía suggested, her smile growing slowly.

“What are you suggesting?”

“Well. If we give her a few months and turns out she doesn’t make any breakthroughs, we can always… you know.”

“I don’t.”

“We can take her stuff.” Lucía finally said. “Just erase her memory and take the book and the notes back! With some luck, she probably took notes of the hints.”

“...Lucy, you’re diabolical.” The old crone chuckled loudly. “Ohhh, I guess we will get our chips back no matter how this gamble goes, then!”

“Of course! But I still don’t know why we can’t just go to a family of Mages and put this on their sleeper child!”

“That bitch Humiko probably thought of something like that.” A grumble escaped from the old lady. “This is our safest bet.”

“Well, I am just saying. If this experiment of yours doesn’t pay up, I may have to talk about this with the rest of the Coven…~” Lucía’s eyes were, for a moment, fully visible under that hood, brightly green. “And you know the captain wouldn’t like you skulking around with unapproved knowledge.~”

“Oh shush, you won’t.” Pelafina seemed quite confident of this. “Not after coming this close to finally finding that bitch…”

The overseer sighed, looking up to the fake stars for a moment while rubbing her hands together. What was this she felt? Anxiety?

“... It has to work, Lucía.” She finally said. “It has to.”

“What if it doesn’t though?” The guard tilted her head.

“It has to… it is our only way to free our King from his cell.”

“Welp, let’s hope this girl works fast!”

“I know. After all, King Hamil isn’t a patient man.”
