2024.05.19 14:42 TallSheepherder5396 plot bunny for a naruto/fantastic four/marvel fanfic reequest

ok so this idea came into my head because i am a huge tobirama fan and there is not enough quality crossover fanfics with him, he is basically batman with water bending powers and teleportation powers, a genius at weaponizing science and pace with his sealing art and speed.
so what if in the days of intense attacks during the civil war days of marvel when reed richards and sue storm's marriage was going through rough patch, some of the recent attacks on them makes them worried about the safety of their children so they request s.h.i.e.l.d to send them a personal bodyguard for when they are not around their kids, shield send tobirama ,the oldest rookie in shield's history and yet their most promising rookie agent, not knowing all his secrets(that he is not from this reality, or his abilities, all they know is he is a mutant(he has wood style/moukoton which is a mutation due to his dimention displacement) and he can walk on watewalls), initially sue does not like him because bodyguard was reed's idea, and the rest of the family does not trust him because of his insistence of maintaining a professional distance from everyone but as he saves their kids multiple times even besting dr doom in the process sue and ben start trusting him more, as he gets closer to them especially the children as he becomes more of a father figure then reed and through multiple trials of combat with the rouge gallery of fantastic four, it becomes evident that while he is not as brilliant at science as reed or even sue, he proves himself to be better at weaponizing science with his sealing arts in combat, his intelligence, his strength, his insistence on fairness and his kindness(even though tobirama does not view himself as a kind person) and his protectiveness for her children makes susan storm attracted to him and this puts even more strain in her marriage and complicates the relationship that she has with the rest of fantastic four
i would like his place in marvel comic verse to be realistic, i don't want him one shoting the hulk or duking it out with phoenix, i would want him to operate like a glass cannon/ assassin who knows that he is a glass cannon so he operates like a support switch blade in team settings where he will use his flying raijin shenanigans and his expanding paper bombs to be his bread and butter, i don't want him to be weak either, even if you low ball him he easily beats all members of F4 except for sue storm
i would want the family drama and the love triangle between tobi/sue/reed to be one of the prominent points of the fic but the the primary focus, that should be action, specifically his new rivalry with dr doom(another thing that reed can read as tobi took from him)
if anyone is interested in writing something like this, please contact me for i have more ideas to make this good that i can share
cheers!

2024.05.19 14:28 confusedvexedperson The worst interview of my life was at this company called Nagarro

This did not happen recently but a few months back.
I was looking for a job (double digit years in experience) and a HR from Nagarro reached out on LinkedIn. I sent her my details, did a proctored online test and was selected for a 2nd round face to face. Since the interviewer was in US, the slot I had was Sunday at 9:45 PM IST [I was given a choice of slots but they were either 7 in the morning or 9-10 in the night, only weekends].
I joined the Teams meeting at 9:40 PM on a Sunday, turned on my camera, and waited 5 minutes for the interviewer. As soon as it became 9:45, I heard the Teams chime that I was let in, but before the sound ended, a voice started speaking. "Alright, so what things you take care?"
I looked up to see this Indian guy wearing a red hat (not THAT red hat) indoors, looking at me. I said, "Sorry, what?" And he said exasperatedly, "Your work. What. Is. It. that. You. Do." in clipped tones, as if I was not a mentally sound person.
My hand automatically moved my mouse over to the disconnect button and I almost clicked but stopped myself at the last moment. I decided to see how the interview went. I had not given an interview in a long time and wanted to get an experience.
I composed myself and started to explain my resume. In the middle of it, he stopped me and said, "Are you using dual screens?" I said yes. He scolded me for using dual screens for an interview and made me turn one off. I was on camera the whole time and it was a face to face interview so not really sure what the concern was but I still did it. The funny part was, during the interview I could hear pings from his side and see him turn to his own second screen to reply to some chat/IM messages. Anyways, I asked, "should I continue explaining my resume" and he said, "no that's alright."
"Tell me about any recent deliverable you have worked on", he asked next. I had recently worked on implementing a customized DR system so I started to explain how it was implemented and the architectural changes done. He was distracted the whole time, replying to some ping, constantly muting and unmuting his audio and saying, "That's fine. Keep going." I completed my explanation and waited. He realized I had stopped talking and said, "All that is good but I do not see the architecture change you have done." I summarized the server re-organization, the load balancers, the customized back-up and archival, even some code level changes we had to do, but he said, "I still do not see the architecture design change." I said, "I can draw an architecture diagram to show it clearly", and he said, "no that's alright. Let's move on."
I come from a .NET background, so he asked me, "do you have experience with .NET core?" I said, I did. And this is where the most weird part of the interview starts. He spent 20 minutes on a single question and you will see why, in a minute.
He asked me, "Do you know the three types of dependency injection?" I answered the three - singleton, scoped and transient.
He said, "good, now tell me how do you decide which one to use." This is a standard interview question, I gave the standard answer. It was not good enough.
He did a "tch" sound of exasperation. "All that is good, but how do you decide?" I explained again, adding more details.
He did that "tch" sound again. "All that is good, but how do YOU decide?", stressing on the word "YOU". I explained again, this time with examples of when I would make which choice and why.
He did that "tch" sound again. "All that is good, but those are textbook examples. Tell me about an example that you have implemented in your system"
I explained how we had used a singleton for application level settings. He did that "tch" sound again. "All that is good, but what made you decide that the application settings need to be in singleton?"
I was confused at this point. What was he looking for! "The settings need to be the same throughout the application and so a singleton is a logical choice", I said.
He shook his head, this time not making the "tch" sound. "No, you are not getting it. I want to understand what made you decide to make the application settings class a singleton? Was it because of the name of the class or because somebody told you or because you got a feeling?"
I was angry at this point, so I repeated the same answer as before. He said, "Maybe I am making it complex. Why don't I give you an example and you can explain your choice." I said OK.
"Alright, so suppose that I created a class called "" and asked you how should I use it. What will you say?"
I stared at him for a moment, wondering if this was real. I asked him what was the functionality of the class, and he launched into the most unnecessarily complex (and to me, wildly unrelated) functionality regarding uploading documents from an API to an azure storage account involving Virtual Networks, Key Vault, different Blob types and an Azure SQL database to store blob metadata. I asked him, how the class is supposed to be used. He said, "I don't know. I am the author of the class. I have given it to other people to use. Ask me questions you would ask the author of the class."
My mind was hurting at this point so I repeated, in the most bored voice, the very first standard answer I had given. He must have realized my disinterest, for he said, "Alright, I get it. Let's move on. Do you have experience writing SQL?"
I said Yes. So he asked me to share my screen and gave me a written scenario for which to write a query.
While I was working on the query, he said, "I have your resume so let's take a look at that." He opened the resume, I could see that he actually did open it then, by the screen brightness reflected on his face change. And as I worked on the query, he kept going through my resume and making what I can only describe as "Passive-Aggressive comments" in a low voice in the background. E.g. "worked at So-and-so (one of the Big 4 companies)... In ", "worked with XYZ technology... for ", "SME for ABC technologies... for DEF use case"
I was done at this point so I drafted out a query with as low effort as I could and then explained it quickly. It was wrong for sure, and not fulfilling the use case completely but I had stopped caring. He also realized it because he said, "Alright, I think that is it. Do you have any questions for me?", in a very smug voice.
I said, "No, thanks for the experience", and disconnected the call.
So, that was it. The most WTF interview of my life. So far. I am not really sure what was wrong with that dude or maybe I have been out of touch for a long time and this is how it is now, but damn, man. I sat in shock for a few minutes after the call. I did check out the interviewer's profile on LinkedIn, wondering if we had crossed paths before. But he was been with his company for a long, long time, first company since college and never switched. So I don't really know.
Anyways, so, yeah. Hope you are having a better experience than me.

2024.05.19 14:05 Kuro13 How many topics to study per day (assuming 2 hours is the max amount for each topic)?

For context, I don't have a proper job right now, besides working on art commissions for others. I basically have all day to study. I wanna spend 8-10 hours working on art. However, IDK what the exact amount should be for studying it.
For each week, I've allocated at most two hours studying a main topic. Last week was arms, now this week is legs. From what I understand, there's a limit for how long you can study before there's not much benefit the more hours you spend (due to how the brain works). I feel like 1 to 2 hours is enough for me, since I didn't notice much benefits after spending 6 hours learning to draw arms for one day.
I wasn't sure if what I've been reading is based on studying with no breaks at all (especially a long 30-60 min break if studying for more than 1 hour) or if it's specifically towards a certain subject matter. For example, could I do two hours studying one topic and then do the same for a different topic? While not two hours, I've been giving myself 30 minutes to "warm up" by practicing lines (C-S-I), shapes, and form. I don't feel like I need to go too overkill with it so that's why it's 30 minutes.
Of course, I make the sessions fun by drawing silly things or involving my favorite characters to make it more engaging. That and the breaks, as well.
I'm just at a point where I need to seriously brush up on my anatomy (as well as color, composition, gestures, etc)
tl;dr If there's a daily cap to studying/practicing art, is that only for a specific topic or does that apply to learning anything at all? If I only got, at most, two hours to study before I see diminishing returns, should I just divide how much to study a subject matter?

🔗Tru-Sharp Stainless Pocket Trimmer with Blue Bone Handle

https://preview.redd.it/rjw3u3ljbd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8776196bf63001f64c3f3f4cfb34dced8a3efbe8
Recently, I came across a Case Knife Blue Bone Trapper, and I must say it's a gem. The vibrant orange synthetic handle made it easy to locate when I was outdoors, especially on my hunting trips. The clip and spey blades were incredibly versatile, making it an all-around useful tool for my projects around the house, outdoors, and hunting.
One of the standout features was the Tru-Sharp Stainless Steel blades, which held their edge much longer than conventional steel. Plus, the extraordinary blade strength and corrosion resistance added to the durability of this folding knife. It served as a great everyday pocket knife for me, and I found myself reaching for it often.
However, I did notice that the knife's closed length was slightly larger than I would have preferred for pocket carry. Also, the non-locking slip joint lock felt less secure compared to locking mechanisms. Despite these minor drawbacks, the Case Knife Blue Bone Trapper proved to be a reliable and beautiful addition to my collection.

🔗Handcrafted Carbon Steel Knife with Dark Red Bone Handle

https://preview.redd.it/29po69wjbd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=51dc46cf756e55d62991b81c56c4cf0c9c9f95fd
I recently had the chance to use the Case XX USA - Small Congress Dark Red Bone CA31949 Carbon Steel knife in my daily life. The first thing that stood out to me was the carbon steel blade, which offered a sharp and sturdy cutting surface. The Dark Red Bone handle provided a comfortable and solid grip, perfect for various tasks.
One of the most impressive features of this knife was its handcrafted design, showcasing the artistry and attention to detail of the U. S. A. -based craftsmen who created it. The carbon steel sheepsfoot blade and pen blades were mirror finish, giving the knife an elegant and unique look. However, it's worth mentioning that the knife is not lightweight, as it weighs 1.2 oz.
While using it, I also noticed the nickel silver bolster(s) and the inlay shield, adding a touch of sophistication to this functional tool. The boxed packaging was an added bonus, making it a great gift for someone special.
Overall, I found this Case XX USA - Small Congress Dark Red Bone CA31949 Carbon Steel knife to be a high-quality and reliable tool. Its distinctive design and solid construction make it a worthwhile investment for those who value craftsmanship and durability in their cutting instruments.

🔗Beautiful Navy Blue Bone Stockman Pocket Knife

I recently tried out the Navy Blue Bone Stockman Pocket Knife, and I must say, I was impressed. From the moment I took it out of the package, the quality was apparent. The handle, made of jigged bone with a Tru-Sharp SS blade, felt comfortable in my hand, and the blue color added a nice touch to its appearance.
One of the best features of this knife is its versatility. The 6.5 cm blade is just the right length for everyday tasks and can easily be carried in my pocket. The weight, at 65 grams, is also perfectly manageable. It's perfect for everyday use and outdoor adventures.
While I loved the knife's construction, sharpness, and size, there was one thing that bothered me. The knife was delivered by a less-than-ideal shipping method, which caused it to be placed in my neighbor's mailbox instead of mine. I would have preferred it if the shipping was more streamlined and the knife was delivered directly to my doorstep.
Overall, I'm really happy with my Navy Blue Bone Stockman Pocket Knife. It's well-crafted, functional, and a great addition to my collection of everyday carry items.

Recently, I found myself using the CASE Mini Trapper pocket knife in my daily life. This versatile tool has made all the difference in my outdoorsy adventures, as it fits perfectly in the pocket and is easy to access when needed. The bright yellow handle really stands out, not only making it easy to spot in a backpack or bag but also adding a touch of personality to it.
I've noticed the knife has two full-length blades, the 'clip' blade and the 'spey' blade. The clip blade is perfect for detail work or cutting small items efficiently, while the spey blade is an all-purpose utility blade that can handle most tasks. The knife is constructed with the robust chrome vanadium steel, known for its excellent edge-holding ability and easy resharpening. Although the steel isn't as resistant to rusting as stainless steel, it adds to the knife's unique charm, making it a lifelong companion.
However, an aspect that I found less appealing was the susceptibility to potential rusting. While it may not be a deal-breaker for some, it's worth considering for those who plan to use the knife heavily or in humid environments. Nonetheless, its solid build, smooth operating mechanism, and durable construction make this pocket knife an undeniable staple in my kit. If you're looking for a reliable tool that adds a touch of style while still maintaining practicality, the CASE Mini Trapper pocket knife is worth a try.

🔗Old Red Bone Case Hawkbill Knife for Everyday Use

I've been using the Case Trapper Pocket Worn Old Red Bone Knife for a while now, and I must say, it's a beauty. Every time I take it out of my pocket, I can feel the quality in my hands. The red bone handle is not only eye-catching but also provides a comfortable grip.
The Tru-Sharp stainless steel blades are another highlight - they're sharp and hold their edge really well. The knife is perfect for those who enjoy trapping and skinning small game, as it's lightweight and has both a Clip and a Spey blade.
However, there is one downside. The knife is quite large, which can be a bit inconvenient when carrying it around in your pocket. But overall, I'm really happy with my purchase. It's like having a piece of art with me at all times that also happens to be a useful tool.

🔗Amber Jigged Bone Stockman Amber Bone Knife with CV-Carbon Steel Blades

A couple of months ago, I decided to try out this Case Large Stockman Amber Bone pocket knife, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. Firstly, the amber jigged bone handle not only adds an elegant touch but also provides a perfect grip. This knife was designed to serve many purposes, and it shines in each one.
The sheepsfoot blade was a game-changer for me, making it smooth and convenient to use, perfect for carving and getting those clean cuts. But the icing on the cake is the clip blade, which is incredibly versatile, coming in handy for all the everyday tasks around my place.
One thing that did catch me off guard was the resilience of the chrome vanadium steel used in making the blades. While some might worry about its susceptibility to rust and discoloration, I found it easy to sharpen and maintain.
The thing that I absolutely love about this pocket knife is its construction and build quality. It is solid, and it oozes class. However, if you're a fan of stainless steel, you might not appreciate this aspect as much.
In conclusion, I'd say this product is the epitome of quality and craftsmanship. It's an all-in-one knife that's both a collectible and a utility knife. Sure, it has its pros and cons, but the experience of using it outweighs any minor drawbacks. Would I recommend it? Absolutely!

🔗Stained Glass Trapper Folding Knife with Natural Bone Handle

I recently had the pleasure of using this Case Trapper Angel Wings Folding Knife, and let me tell you, it's a beauty to behold! The stained glass angel wings on the handle make this knife truly unique. The natural bone handles, featuring a color wash and black definition, catch the light perfectly.
With a Tru-Sharp Surgical Stainless Steel blade, I found that this knife held its edge quite well and was surprisingly sturdy despite its lightweight build. The knife comes with both a Clip and a Spey blade, each serving a different purpose. The Clip is excellent for intricate tasks, while the Spey is versatile enough for any everyday use.
One particularly impressive aspect of this product is its construction with Case Tru-Sharp stainless steel. This material ensures the blade stays sharp for longer and offers impeccable corrosion resistance. The quality of this knife is evident from its handcrafted design in the United States.
In terms of packaging, the product arrives in a sleek black velvet box, perfect for storing and displaying the knife. Overall, my experience with this Trapper Angel Wings Folding Knife has been nothing short of delightful – a must-have addition to any enthusiast's collection.

I recently had the chance to try out the Case Small Congress Jigged Bone 58422, and let me tell you, it's quite a find. This little pocket knife is not only a perfect addition to my everyday carry, but it also has a unique charm to it.
The curved handle, made from gray bone, fits my hand nicely and gives a sturdy grip. The craftsmanship is evident in the way it was handcrafted in the United States – you can tell a lot of care and attention went into making this pocket knife.
The blade itself is made of carbon steel, which might seem a bit heavy for some, but I found it to be quite sharp and durable. It comes with two blades – a sheepsfoot, perfect for trimming hooves, and a pen blade for lighter work.
However, as much as I love this pocket knife, it's definitely not for everyone. Not only does it weigh a little more than other pocket knives, but the carbon steel blade might also be a bit of a risk when it comes to rust.
All in all, the Case Small Congress Jigged Bone 58422 is a fantastic choice for those who enjoy a traditional, compact pocket knife with a little extra heft and sharpness. But be sure to take proper care of it, and you'll be rewarded with a reliable and functional tool.

Recently, I had the chance to try out the Aquarius Trapper from W. R. Case & Sons, a premium American brand of handmade knives. This versatile pocket knife, crafted from the highest quality materials, instantly caught my attention with its durability and performance. Made by skilled artisans in the United States, it offers a wide range of features that make it a must-have for anyone in need of a reliable and durable tool.
One of the standout features of this Trapper knife is the Tru-Sharp surgical steel blades that provide excellent cutting capabilities. The clip and spey blades are a nice touch, offering versatility for different tasks. Additionally, the handles are made of durable Corelon Aquarius, which adds to the knife's overall durability and quality.
While I loved the attractive design and vibrant color options, I did notice that the knife seemed a bit prone to scratches when carried in my pocket. This prompted me to suggest that the manufacturer consider providing a cloth pouch to protect the knife during transportation. Overall, the Aquarius Trapper from Case Cutlery is an impressive tool, crafted with precision and care that makes it stand out among other pocket knives in the market.

🔗Case 50954 Iraqi Freedom Knife: Tru-Sharp Surgical Stainless Steel and Natural Bone Handle

Imagine walking into a dimly lit room, the scent of old leather and polished steel lingering in the air. In one corner, nestled among antique weapons, you find a knife that instantly catches your eye. It's a Hawkbill Knife from the War Series, designed in the image of a classic Iraqi Freedom pattern.
The blade is made from Tru-Sharp Surgical Stainless Steel, a choice that ensures durability and precision. The handle, carved from natural bone, fits comfortably in the hand, a testament to the craftsmanship of its creators. Handcrafted in the United States, each knife bears the mark of its origin - a symbol of quality and pride.
With a closed length of 4.13 inches, this Hawkbill Knife is compact yet potent. The spey blades, mirror finish stainless clip, and nickel silver bolster showcase the attention to detail that has gone into its creation. As you hold it, the Iraqi Freedom handle embellishment stands out, a unique touch that adds a layer of depth to your experience.
Unfortunately, there are a few aspects that could be improved. The weight of the knife at 4.0 ounces might not be suitable for everyone. Moreover, the overall design may not appeal to all, but for those who appreciate the history and craftsmanship that goes into each piece, the Hawkbill Knife from the War Series is truly special.

I've been using the Antique Bone Trapper for a few weeks now, and it's been quite a pleasure. The handle in jigged bone, with a rich, caramel brown tone, exudes an elegant, classic feel that makes you want to hold it and use it every day.
Plus, the Tru-Sharp SS blade adds durability and smoothness to cutting through tasks. However, I do wish the knife had been sharpened out of the box - just a bit of extra effort on my part before it could perform at its best.
Don't let this minor inconvenience deter you from trying it out. The Antique Bone Trapper is a fantastic addition to any collection or daily toolkit.

🔗Tru-Sharp Surgical Stainless Steel Hawkbill Knife with Blue Bone Handle

I was intrigued by the Case XX 02845 SM Congress Blue Bone knives. The mirrored stainless steel blades and blue jigged bone handle were visually appealing. But the slipjoint lock was a bit unwieldy.
It took some practice to get the hang of it. The Tru-Sharp Surgical Steel blades held their shine for a reasonable amount of time, which was convenient. However, for a small knife with a 3-inch closed length, it lacked maneuverability in some situations.
Nevertheless, I appreciated the American craftsmanship that went into making this compact, pocket-friendly knife.

🔗Case XX Trapper Knife: High-Quality, Custom-Made in the USA

I recently had the chance to try out the Case XX Mulberry Synthetic 4254 Trapper. It's a handsome little knife, featuring a beautiful Mulberry synthetic handle that gives it a lovely, slightly textured grip. The Tru-Sharp stainless steel blades are quite sharp, and the spey blades are perfect for those who like a little added functionality.
One of the things I appreciated most about this knife is that it's handcrafted right here in the United States. The attention to detail is evident, from the mirror finish stainless clip to the nickel silver bolster. However, something I noticed that might be a drawback for some is its weight - at only 3.7oz, it's a pretty light knife in comparison to others.
Using this knife daily, I found it quite versatile and practical. But overall, the Case XX Mulberry Synthetic 4254 Trapper is a product that combines both beauty and functionality, making it stand out among its competitors in the market.

🔗American-Made Mini Trapper Pocket Knife for USAF Enthusiasts

I had the opportunity to test the Case 32402 Mini Trapper, a tiny pocket knife packed with impressive features. One of the highlights that stood out to me was the Tru-Sharp Surgical Stainless Steel, which provided durable sharpness that lasted through various tasks.
The Navy Blue Synthetic Handle offered a comfortable, ergonomic grip, allowing me to navigate my way around the miniature knife with ease. In addition, it added a touch of style to the design, making it stand out.
However, I did experience a small disadvantage - the Mini Trapper's manual-open design made it a bit challenging to access and open with just one hand. Despite this minor inconvenience, I still found great value in the United States Air Force W. R. Case & Sons Cutlery Co. 32402. Overall, it was a reliable and aesthetically pleasing addition to my daily life.

Buyer's Guide

A Case Hawkbill Knife, also known as a pen knife or a pocket knife, is a versatile and practical tool. It offers a variety of functions, including cutting, opening, and even breaking objects like nails. This buyer's guide will provide an overview of essential factors to consider when purchasing a Case Hawkbill Knife, as well as some general recommendations.

Materials

https://preview.redd.it/jj9ke12sbd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f437e0147541de2c0e36542b8d78f424aab20e2a
One of the first things to consider is the materials used to make the knife. Good-quality knives are typically made from carbon steel, stainless steel, or high-carbon stainless steel. These materials provide durability, corrosion resistance, and sharpness. Consider the climate where you'll use the knife, as well as the type of objects you'll be cutting. Stainless steel may be a better choice if you live in a humid or salty environment. Meanwhile, high-carbon steel could be preferable for a more precise or versatile edge. Remember to check if the blade locks or unlocks securely when using it.

Design Features

There are several design features to consider when buying a Case Hawkbill Knife. A locking mechanism is essential for safety and ensuring that the blade remains closed when not in use. Popular locking mechanisms include friction locks and spring-loaded locks. Pay attention to the size and weight of the knife, as well as the design of the handle. Some handles are ergonomic for comfortable use, while others have built-in features for opening cans or bottles caps.

Brand Reputation

Another important aspect to consider is the brand reputation. Case has a long history of producing high-quality knives with excellent value for money. However, new brands or lesser-known manufacturers may offer excellent products as well. Research online reviews, customer testimonials, and manufacturer's warranty policies to ensure that you're getting a reliable and durable product.

Maintenance Tips

To extend the life of your Case Hawkbill Knife, proper maintenance is essential. Always clean the knife by wiping the blade with a cloth and removing any debris on the handle. To prevent rust, you should avoid submerging the knife in water or storing it in a humid area. Regularly re-lubricating the hinges and locking mechanism is also recommended. For the blade, sharpen or hone it as needed to maintain its cutting edge.

Price

The price of a Case Hawkbill Knife can vary based on factors such as materials, design features, and brand reputation. Shop around for the best deals and consider your budget when purchasing one. Remember that spending a bit more on a well-built knife may save you money in the long run by offering better durability and requiring fewer repairs or replacements.

🔗Damascus Folding Knife with Leather Sheath

Oh, the Damascus Knives 1320BL Prideful Fang Caper, such a mouthful, isn't it? But let's just cut right to it and talk about the knife itself. Now, I'm not exactly what you'd call a knife aficionado, but this one sure did feel different in the hand. The blade, about 6-1/2 inches long and 1-1/2 inches wide, was made of Damascus steel - a beautiful fusion of metals that gives it a unique, patterned look. That's what I noticed first, actually. It's like having a piece of art you can actually use!
But it wasn't all looks, that's for sure. The handle, a simple wooden design, was sturdy and well-balanced, even with the leather sheath included. This felt like a tool built to last, just from the feel of it. But let's not forget about those laws, either. The ownership, carry, and use of knives certainly vary from one community to another, so it's essential to know and follow the specific guidelines in place. And if you're planning on letting kids play with it? Well, that's a big no-no. It's not a toy, folks. It's a serious tool designed for serious work.
All in all, the Damascus Knives 1320BL Prideful Fang Caper caught my attention right away, not just for its eye-catching design, but also for its build quality. It's not a knife for everyone, and it's certainly not a toy. But if you're looking for a real, sturdy knife that carries its own beauty, then this might be the one for you.

is a rare gem, as only 1,400 of these beauties were created. Weighing in at 1.7 oz, the knife is light enough to carry around effortlessly yet strong enough for day-to-day tasks.
While it's a work of art in itself, the user experience could be improved with a smoother opening mechanism. Overall, this knife is a testament to the craftsmanship and elegance of Damascus Steel, making it a worthwhile investment for any pocket knife enthusiast.

The Case XX Buffalo Horn Hunter Fixed Blade really is a gem in my collection. I was initially drawn to its Tru-Sharp Surgical Stainless Steel, which truly holds up well over time. The natural buffalo horn handle adds a touch of elegance and makes it easy to grasp when in use. The handcrafted nature of the knife, combined with the fact that it's made in the U. S. A. , only adds to its credibility.
Although the black leather case it comes with is functional, it would be nice if it were a bit more durable. Also, the weight of the knife is quite noticeable, especially for everyday carry. However, these minor drawbacks do not detract from the overall quality and craftsmanship of this knife. It's definitely a tool you'd want to have in your belt if you're into hunting or survival situations.

The eye-catching Purple Curly Maple Wood Handle adds a touch of elegance that catches everyone's attention. The famous Case Ichthus shield and mirror-polished Tru-Sharp surgical steel blades truly stand out, making this a unique and reliable choice.
Of course, there are some minor drawbacks to this stunning knife. The handle could be a bit larger, and the overall weight might feel a bit heavy in the hand. However, the quality and craftsmanship of the blade itself make up for these minor issues.
Overall, this Case 80541 Stockman Purple Curly Maple is a stunning and reliable knife that I've come to enjoy using in my everyday life. The handcrafted design and exceptional materials make it the perfect addition to any collection.

The antique bone handle makes the knife feel sturdy and grippy in my hand. The Tru-Sharp Surgical Stainless Steel blades give it its sharp and shiny edge, while the sheepsfoot and pen blades lend versatility to its functionality.
One of the things that stood out to me is its handcrafted nature, knowing that it's made in the USA with pride. It's also relatively light, weighing about 1.2 ounces. However, the only negative aspect for me is the rather small size, which sometimes makes it a bit less ideal for larger tasks. But overall, I'm a fan of this knife and its classic design.

🔗Case Patriot Trapper Knife with Kirinite Handle

The knife boasts mirror-polished Tru-Sharp surgical stainless steel blades that provide a reliable and long-lasting edge, perfect for a variety of tasks. The smooth Kirinite handles, with their striking red, white, and blue design, lend both style and substance to this compact yet versatile piece.
During my time with the knife, I was particularly impressed by its metal oval-shaped shield inlay which bears the prestigious Case logo, adding a touch of prestige to its already impressive design. As it is a product "made in the USA", I feel confident in its durability and craftsmanship.
However, just like any other product, it's not without its drawbacks. My only concern is the price point, which may seem a touch steep for some users. Despite this, I would still highly recommend the Patriot Kirinite Trapper Pocket Knife for those who seek quality, style, and versatility in a reliable blade.

The Case 17916 Hunter Knife, sporting a unique Buffalo Horn Handle, was my go-to companion during recent hunting trips. Its handcrafted design in the U. S. A. adds a touch of pride and authenticity. The Tru-Sharp Surgical Stainless Steel blade held an edge like a dream and offered exceptional strength and resistance to corrosion.
However, what stood out the most was the knife's compatibility with the leather belt sheath. It provided an easy carrying solution for my daily life. The only downside was the limited color options for the belt sheath, which might not suit everyone's personal style.
Overall, this fixed blade knife is a reliable and durable companion for hunting and outdoor adventures, and the buffalo horn handle adds a unique touch to its design.

2024.05.19 13:16 Adventurous_End_7650 A video shooter's perspective on R5 (+ settings)

In the past four weeks, I've deep-dived into the ideal Video settings for my R5. I was never happy with what the camera gave me, so I want to share the following insights just in case they may benefit some of you. It's going to be a bit long winded, read on if you're a nerd and perfectionist like me... Shout out to Jason of Points in Focus on YouTube, as well as Rodrigo Pollo, Josh Sattin and Todd Dominey, who were some of my many sources. There's also a Redditor that has highlighted the wonkiness of Cinema Gammut colors (hi!) and I agree with them.
  1. Shoot in LOG – IMO, yes, you should. Only this unlocks 10 Bit 4:2:2 which grades really well and runs smoothly provided you're on Silicone machines. Arguably, 10 Bit 4:2:2 h265 in LOG was the true game changing feature the R5 brought into the market, so take advantage.
  2. For LOG post production, the Canon LUTs work well if you expose as Canon thinks you should. This gets technical quickly and if you just follow the ETTR dogma, Canon's LUTs will clip your highlights into oblivion. A proper CST workflow in Resolve works better but is complicated for novices. In any case, you will have to test your exposure / CST / LUT workflow so I highly recommend you get yourself familiarised with Zebras and False Color tools (if you use an external monitor). The histogram on the R5 is absolutely useless for video exposure. Clipped highlights, not noisy shadows, are the biggest weakness of the R5's image, in my opinion.
  3. But which LOG flavour and color space? This comes down to your taste, but I have found the following produces the most natural looking footage. I shoot CLOG 1 / BT 2020 at a base ISO of 400. Like everyone else, I jumped on the CLOG 3 / Cinema Gammut Train when the firmware update hit, but I just didn't like the footage 90% of the time. It is proven that the sensor's dynamic range in photography mode is better at ISO 400 than it is at 800 (not surprising) in the Electronic shutter mode (which is what the R5 also uses for video). It's not a huge difference from 800 to 400, but it's there - half to one stop. This was also revealed in the CineD tests – both of them, the initial one as well as the one when they re-tested with CLOG 3. In the manual, Canon claims that CLOG 3 has more dynamic range then CLOG – in theory, maybe. The curve may be designed to give more DR. But on the R5? None of the tests you can find online have properly proven this. The DR is distributed differently, but not necessarily increased. There ARE tests, however, that show the sensor performs better at ISO 400 - so that's what I go with. Bonus: Why not use BT 709? Well, that would defeat the purpose of capturing LOG at 10 Bit 4:2:2 in the first place. You would be throwing out a bunch of color information already at capture.
  4. There can be severe horizontal Banding in underexposed areas. When I first saw this, I couldn't believe my eyes (check out Josh Sattin's comparison of Z8 with R5 on YouTube to see what I mean). A 5K€ camera was producing big horizontal chunky lines of banding running across the image. I contacted Canon and they claimed not to be able to see anything. WTF. I thought my camera was broken. Then I found this in the manual: With Canon Log, movies may be affected by horizontal banding, depending on the subject or shooting conditions. So I didn't imagine things. It's right there. In. The. Manual. To avoid this, expose correctly. In practical use, a non issue, but still leaves a bitter taste.
  5. Cinema Gammut, avoid. In my experience, it gives crazy saturation to red, magenta, orange. It may be a wider color space than 2020, but it can look extremely unnatural. I had rare occasions where it did work well, for example with greens and blues, but skin tones were always a pain point. (If you do want to use CLOG 3 and Cinema Gammut, I suggested you go to -1 saturation in the Canon Log Settings.) I realise this point is the most subjective, so if you have a great CineGammut workflow running, I applaud you!
  6. External Recording – it may work for some of you, but I never bothered. What turns me off the Ninjas is their cost, the noisy fan and hunger for batteries as well as bulk and weight. I shoot mostly Gimbal work nowadays and every gram counts. I bit the bullet and got the fastest Card on the market for internal shooting. If you do use Ninjas, note this: The HDMI interface on the R5 is version 2.0 and it does NOT transmit Cinema Gammut correctly, so set to BT 2020. You will still have to mess around with the legalize settings and post-production hassle (ProRes RAW doesn't work on the dominant Color grading software, Resolve). For me it's a no. Bonus: Make sure your HDMI cable is at least a 2.0 version!
  7. Sound: Manual recording set to a quarter strength gives you the best audio dynamic range (nod to Jason of Points in Focus, who tested this). Run your mic hot-ish and you'll be fine at this level, it works well with the Rode or Sennheiser video mics. If audio is important for you, AVOID IPB Light as it uses compressed AAC audio. The non-compressed LPCM at 48 Khz / 16 Bit that you get with ALL-I, RAW, IPB is pretty decent and noise-free.
  8. I can't stress this enough: avoid Auto White Balance! The R5 dials in aggressive amounts of Tint "correction" to combat any perceived color shifts. It just doesn't work well at all unless you're in perfectly clean 6500K daylight. If you shoot LOG h265, getting White Balance right is critical to getting good skintones. Log doesn't mean RAW, you ARE baking color into the image. Unfortunately the Custom WB function is a mess in R5 for video, but you can actually eyeball this quite well off a monitor, if said monitor is set up correctly with a LUT. I use a color meter (LUMU Power 2) to verify, and it helps.
  9. Rolling Shutter. 8K RAW as well as 4K HQ give you the most rolling shutter at about 15 ms and this is certainly visible in faster paced Gimbal work. Rolling shutter drops to around 9 ms in regular 4K, which is what I now use for Gimbal work. Though it's not a full halving, it's a significant, visible improvement for any panning. I still shoot talking heads in 4K HQ as the Rolling shutter is not an issue with static work. As for my Canon Log settings, I go +1 sharpening for 4K HQ and +3 for regular 4K. That matches them reasonably well.
  10. 12-Bit RAW has about another half to one stop more DR in the highlights, but is also tougher and more fiddly to grade than the 10 Bit H265. It also defaults to CineGammut so it has the same tendency towards saturated reds. (CRAW gets decoded by default as CineGammut in Resolve.) I tend to prefer the look of the 10 Bit 4:2:2 shot in BT 2020 in terms of color. If you do shoot RAW, I again recommend setting to CLOG 1 in camera – not because that Log curve gets baked into the image (it doesn't), but because it unlocks you ISO 400 shooting. RAW capture at ISO 400 in Clog 1 will then allow you to decode in Resolve using the CLOG 2 curve at ISO 400 and reach the theoretical maximum of DR in terms of any video material from the R5.
Point 11 was going to be a wishlist for better features etc. but then I realised, I could buy a R5C... But honestly, the crappy battery performance of that camera really is a deal breaker for me.
Sorry for the long post but I really hope this may help some of you. Good luck and happy shooting!

Understanding Hair Transplantation
Hair transplantation involves moving hair follicles from a part of the body, known as the donor site, to a balding or thinning area, called the recipient site. The two primary techniques used are Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) and Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE). FUT involves removing a strip of scalp from the donor site and dissecting it into individual follicular units, while FUE involves extracting individual follicles directly from the donor site. Both methods have their advantages, and the choice depends on individual needs and the surgeon's expertise.
Top Clinics in Ghaziabad

Choosing the Right Clinic
When selecting a hair transplant clinic in Ghaziabad, consider the following factors:
Surgeon's Expertise: Research the qualifications and experience of the surgeon. A skilled surgeon with a proven track record can significantly impact the success of the transplant.
Clinic Reputation: Read patient reviews and testimonials to gauge the clinic's reputation. Positive feedback often indicates high-quality service.
Technology and Techniques: Ensure the clinic uses the latest techniques and equipment. Advanced technology can enhance the precision and outcome of the transplant.
Cost: While cost should not be the sole determining factor, it is important to understand the pricing structure and what it includes. Compare prices among clinics to find a balance between affordability and quality.
Consultation Process: A thorough consultation should be part of the process. This allows the surgeon to assess your condition and discuss the best treatment options.
Conclusion
Ghaziabad offers a variety of excellent options for those considering a hair transplant. Clinics like AKS Clinic, Dermalife Skin & Hair Clinic, Hair Science Clinic, and labellezaaesthetica Advanced Hair Clinic provide top-tier services, combining expertise, technology, and patient care. 2024.05.19 11:39 Zaenithon Am I equipped for smaller weddings? Also what to bring?

Evening all,
I've got an idea that's kind of been kicking around my head for a while, but I'm not sure how much more gear I might need to make it work. I really like the idea of getting some business work under my belt by offering to photograph local queer weddings for a low cost. (Ideally to provide a service that might be out of reach for a lot of queetrans people money-wise, and on my end, to get some more experience and try a new branch of photography).
Here's the gear I've got right now:
Bodies:
-Canon R6
-Canon 90D
Storage:
3 UHS-II SD cards / 1x 128 GB / 2x 256 GB
4 Batteries
Aspc Lenses:
10-18mm F/4.5
50mm F/1.8 pancake
18-55mm F/3.5
Full Frame Lenses:
Sigma 50 & Sigma 85mm f/1.4 Art primes
Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 IS USM (Version 1)
Tamron 150-600mm F/5.6-6.3 G2 (probably not relevant here, lol)
Other kit:
I've got 2 tripods as well. I don't have many filters, or other kit, don't have portable battery chargers at the moment.
I imagine that something like an RF 24-70 F/2 is the 'god tier' wedding lens, but that'll be out of reach for some time, so - is the kit I've got above enough to do okay at a wedding, assuming a mixture of outdooindoor scenarios? I was thinking that I could probably mainly use the R6 + 24-105 F/4, although I honestly don't find that lens to be as sharp as I'd like, and the low light AF+eye tracking is... really bad.
Tl;dr - Anything experienced wedding photographers would add to this kit before attempting a wedding? Any must-haves?
Thanks!

2024.05.19 11:22 thebaj1 If I was Kendrick, and people grouped me with Drake and J. Cole in a “big 3” of the genre which I dominate, I would be mad too.

TL;DR: Kendrick hates that the game groups him with J. Cole because he’s mid and with Drake because he’s a phony culture vulture, and because he likes em young. In Kendrick’s eyes, he clears them, and hates everyone for subscribing to a “big 3” when it’s just ‘big him’
Drake and J. Cole are LEAGUES below Kendrick in many aspects of their artistry, and Kendrick despises the fact that everyone in the game, from the average listener, to the hip hop nerd, to the new head, to the old head, to other rappers, and to respected podcasters and DJ’s of the genre, has grouped him with, at least who he sees as, to two incredibly inferior artists to him.
J. Cole has painfully average, and often below average songwriting and conceptuality, and a massive amount of corny/cringe bars, both of which lead to, for the most part, a lacklustre discography. His rapping ability is nothing to scoff at all, often times Cole can flow his ass off and rap with entrancing cadences for sure, but his songwriting is very surface level and often doesn’t have much depth. And when the topic itself is “deep”, and Cole is trying to be introspective and trying to paint a picture for the listener, he does it in an almost too easy, too simple way to understand. The main point is not that his artistry is “bad”, it isn’t, but to Kendrick, comparing Cole to him is like comparing a pre schooler’s drawing to Da Vinci.
As for Drake, he has writers. I could just stop there, but there’s other things. Specifically something that Kendrick has shown us recently that he strongly disapproves of from Drake, that he’s a vulture, a coloniser, of cultures. And it’s not even just that he copies other sounds and styles in his own work, it’s that using those sounds and styles from other cultures, he masks his own true self and props up a completely fake image of himself to the rest of the world, IN ORDER to profit. And also he likes em young, that’s definitely part of it.
Now let’s go back to Kendrick. Kendrick is a good kid who was able to make it out of the mad city he’s from, and now he can speak up for his people after being blessed with a voice and a platform to tell stories of his and of others from his community in his music. As well as talk about the pain, the regret, the survivors guilt he has, being the one that made it out, but still knowing that his people are suffering, close people of his, and that he’s unable to do anything about it. He makes timeless art, with real substance, and he is pissed off that the game is grouping him with a culture vulture who grooms teenage girls and a dude who raps about being a virgin in school and folding clothes. That’s a very, very simple way to put it, but honestly if I was Kendrick, I would be mad and be out for rapper blood too.

Picsart is a widely used image and video editing application with features that make your products completely artistic. You can completely adjust your photos easily with essential features and add many beautiful elements. At the same time, the application can also make you more attractive when taking selfies and convenient in editing if you do not want to go through many editing steps.

DRAW LARGE GAPS SIMPLY

In the new version of Picsart, users can find a new feature called Bucket Fill, and its use is to help you add color or other elements to a space inside the photo. This space often has a point that they are usually quite large and occupy the area inside the image. So you’ll be able to add the elements you want to empty spaces with the new feature more quickly without having to sit and draw for a long time.

ADJUST VIDEO AND IMAGES IN A SIMPLE WAY

The feature that users can find in Picsart is straightforwardly editing images and videos with many unique tools and effects that you cannot ignore. You can make your products more beautiful and easily attract the attention of users. At the same time, the number of tools that you can experience stretches across many different photo aspects that you will take the time to reach and master.

CUSTOMIZE IMAGES WITH BASIC TOOLS

When you get started with Picsart, you won’t ignore photo-related factors such as the aspect ratio of images and videos. Specifically, to match the platforms you can share, the application will bring you many crop features for you to use and add other essential functions. For videos, it will be to cut unnecessary segments so that users can see the necessary information. You can also use dispersion to create a disintegration effect for a character in an image.

A VARIETY OF FILTERS THAT YOU CAN USE

When it comes to an editing app like Picsart, you shouldn’t overlook the number of filters you can use. You can give your image or video a new color that you feel is right, and when you pass this step, photos with dull colors also become beautiful. Of course, you can find many criteria for filter types, and you can choose to facilitate your search.

CHANGE THE BACKGROUND AND BLUR IT

Besides the above features, many people often use them to change the background and simply blur the scene. Changing the environment requires that you recognize the object correctly for the change to go smoothly. Also, blurring the background is often used when adding a landscape image to your image. After adding and blurring, you can use the eraser to erase the areas of the blurred image that overlap the original one.

ADD STICKERS AND LIGHT EFFECTS

When it comes to filters, you certainly won’t ignore the stickers and effects that you can take advantage of. Specifically, you can find many stickers with different categories to make your image colorful and suitable for it. You can also add some artistic lens effects and use brushes to add these images by dotting a specific spot.

DIFFERENT TYPES OF FONTS BEAUTIFY THE IMAGE CONTENT

When you edit a photo, you will want to tell some story, and the way you show this is through different text. You can add text with additional content and change them into 200 different fonts to use. That turns your texts into absolutely stunning decorative elements. You can load the meaningful text in the internet to insert it into your images if you don’t have any content.

CREATE UNIQUENESS WITH IMAGES AND MUSIC

When you edit images or videos with this application, you can easily add other files to your product. For images, you can use another photo that further supports the main image you are using and can use the case of blur background. Videos can create attraction for viewers when you add songs that are trending or relevant to the content of the video.

EDIT OR TAKE PICTURES QUICKLY

If you want to have a beautiful image where the character in the photo does not have any defects, you should take a selfie and turn on the beauties feature. It is similar to a makeup feature that helps you effectively hide imperfections and correct some other parts of your face. Also, if you don’t want to edit the step process, you can reuse some of the images suggested by the replay feature and replace some of your sign elements.

FEATURES SUM UP

  • You may crop video clips to the right size and ratio, apply Glitch video effects and other fashionable filters in video editors, trim videos, or use smart video merge to join videos together Produce montage slideshows with music using a slideshow creator

I recently got my hands on Juvale's 5x7 inch Cardboard Picture Frames, and I must say, they've been a game-changer in my world of DIY home decor. With their bright colors and simple yet sturdy design, these frames are perfect for personalizing with jewels, glitter, and more.
One standout feature for me was their ability to fit 5x7-inch photos perfectly. It's been great for displaying cherished moments around the house, just like snapping photos of our recent birthday party. The attached stand is convenient, making it easy to set up and show off your creations without needing an extra easel!
However, there's a minor downside to these frames: their thickness. While they look sturdy enough, they might not hold heavier items such as thick cards or large paper cut-outs. Despite this, their durability has been impressive so far, even after a few creative paint jobs!
Overall, I can't recommend Juvale's Cardboard Picture Frames enough. Their vibrant colors and simple design make them a perfect addition to any DIY home decor project or special occasion. So go ahead, unleash your creativity and make something amazing!

🔗DIY Picture Frame Kit with 50 Frames

As a creative individual who loves DIY projects, I recently got my hands on the Juvale Cardboard Paper Picture Frame DIY Hanging Kit (50 Pack) 4x6 inch, Black, White. From the moment I unboxed it, I could tell it was going to be a game-changer for my decorating needs. Each of the 50 paper cardboard photo frames comes with a mini clothespin and a piece of hanging twine, making it easy to display various memories and artwork around my home or office.
One of the features that truly stood out during my use of this DIY kit was its versatility. Not only can you create unique framed pieces for any space, but you can also get creative and embellish these frames with different materials, like paints, jewels, rhinestones, glitter, labels, stickers, and more. I especially appreciated the fact that the frames can be displayed both vertically and horizontally, allowing me to experiment with different layouts and compositions.
Another aspect of this DIY kit that I genuinely appreciated was its affordability. Given that I received 50 frames along with clothespins and twine, it gave me ample opportunities to decorate multiple areas in my house without breaking the bank. Additionally, the black and white color options make it easy to blend these frames into any decor style.
However, it's essential to note a few cons that I encountered while using this product. Some of the cardboard frames were slightly thinner and more delicate than others, so extra care must be taken during handling. Additionally, the hanging twine provided could have been slightly longer for easier installation in various locations.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Juvale Cardboard Paper Picture Frame DIY Hanging Kit (50 Pack) 4x6 inch, Black, White for anyone who enjoys DIY projects and wants to create personalized photo displays in their homes or workspaces. Its versatility, color options, and affordability make it a worthwhile investment in your decorating endeavors.

I recently purchased these paper frames for my classroom decorations, and I must say, they have been a game-changer! The vibrant colors and fun designs instantly caught my eye. I particularly appreciated the two versatile sizes that could easily accommodate various photo sizes.
The small frames were incredibly easy to use as they were designed with a photo space that perfectly fit a letter-sized paper, making it a breeze to display student artwork or use them as props for our fun photo booth activities. However, I did find that the larger frames needed some trimming and resizing to fit smaller images, but overall, they were still worth the effort.
One minor drawback was the lack of a smaller size option, as I believe it would be even more versatile and useful in various applications. Nonetheless, these paper frames have significantly enhanced the appearance of my classroom decorations, and I look forward to using them in other creative ways.
To summarize, the paper frames are an excellent investment for anyone looking to add a pop of color and creativity to their space. They are easy to use, have a sturdy cardstock thickness, and are available in a variety of fun designs. Although they may require some trimming for certain applications, the end result is definitely worth the effort.

As a cardboard enthusiast, I recently had the pleasure of using these elegant 8.5x11 black picture frames with gold foil borders in my DIY home decor project. The moment I took them out of their 25-piece packaging, I was instantly drawn to their timeless quality and that exquisite golden finish.
One thing that truly stood out for me was how easy these frames were to set up. Their side-load design made it incredibly simple to display and switch between my favorite photos, without any hassle. Plus, the linen weave finish added a touch of sophistication to my space.
Moreover, the frames come with a pop-up easel, which allows them to be displayed horizontally or vertically. This versatility made it easy to showcase both horizontal and vertical certificates or prints, in a professional manner.
However, one minor con I experienced was that the window opening wasn't quite precise, and required a little adjustment to fit my 8x10 prints perfectly. Nonetheless, considering their excellent construction and affordability, these cardboard frames are definitely worth the investment.
So, if you're in search of a cost-effective yet elegant solution to frame your memories or certificates, look no further! These cardboard picture frames deliver on both style and functionality, making them an ideal choice for anyone in need of a little DIY touch.

I've been using the Jahosin wall paper picture frames for a month now and I must say, they've significantly upgraded my home décor. The first thing that drew me to them is their unique DIY design with linkage mounted cardboard frames and flax string clips. The 30-frame set is versatile and stylish, perfect for displaying photos, Christmas cards, and artworks at events like weddings or birthdays.
They're incredibly easy to assemble, each frame comes with its own clips and a piece of flax string, making it a fun project that the entire family can participate in. They fit standard 5x7 inch pictures, coming in three attractive colors - black, brown, and white. Their pure handcraft and non-toxic material make them a safe addition to any home, and the brilliant artwork on the fronts is a bonus.
The only downside I've noticed is that the cardboard isn't the sturdiest, so they might need extra care when being hung or moved around. But overall, these picture frames have been a great addition to my home, adding a touch of art and creativity to my living space. So if you're in the market for unique, affordable photo frames, I highly recommend giving the Jahosin 5x7 inch wall paper picture frames a try.

The quality is evident in the craftsmanship and the vibrant printing patterns that bring life to my space.
One thing I noticed is that these frames are designed specifically to hold 5x7in pictures, which made it difficult to fit some of my larger prints. However, this constraint did force me to be more creative with my photo selections, ultimately resulting in a more cohesive and eclectic display.
Overall, I'm thrilled with my purchase of these DIY Photo Frames from Jahosin. When I first tried out the Jahosin 5x7in Paper Picture Frames, I was pleasantly surprised by how stylish and creative they were. The handcrafted, non-toxic kraft paper material felt like a breath of fresh air compared to the usual plastic frames. The set came with 10 frames, 10 mini clips, and a string, making it easy to display photos, Christmas cards, and art works in a casual and artistic way.
One of the key highlights for me was how easy it was to customize these frames. The DIY linkage design allowed me to arrange the frames in various ways, making them perfect for displaying memories during special occasions like weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, and graduations. Plus, they also added a touch of love, happiness, and wild living spirit to my space.
However, I did notice that the frames are quite delicate, so they may not be ideal for families with young children who might accidentally damage them. Additionally, the kraft paper material can absorb moisture, making the frames more susceptible to warping or damage in humid environments.
Overall, I found the Jahosin 5x7in Paper Picture Frames to be a comfortable and creative addition to my home decor, adding a touch of warmth to any space they were placed in. I would recommend these frames to anyone looking to display their special memories in a unique and stylish way.

I recently used the Juvale Kraft Paper Picture Frames to decorate my living room and create personalized gifts for friends. The 50-pack is perfect for batch-making, especially when working on DIY projects. Crafted from cardboard, these frames are lightweight and easy to customize with paints, stickers, and other embellishments.
One feature that truly stood out was the compatibility with 4x6 inch photos, which means I could feature a variety of images from different occasions. Additionally, the kraft paper texture provides a warm, rustic touch to any space. However, I must admit that the cardboard material isn't as sturdy as traditional frames, so they might not hold up well in humid or high-traffic areas.
In conclusion, the Juvale Kraft Paper Picture Frames are perfect for DIY crafts, personalized gifts, and decorations. Their brown color and versatile size make them an ideal choice for various occasions and interior design styles. Despite the flimsy nature of the material, the ease of customization and affordability make these frames a worthwhile addition to your DIY toolkit.

As a frequent user of these 50-pack cardboard photo picture frames, I can attest to their ease of use. They are perfect for displaying your favorite 4x6-inch family photos, artwork, and memories. The attached stands allow for easy setup on surfaces like desks and tables, and you can unleash your creativity by personalizing these frames with markers, crayons, rubber stamps, colored pencils, and various paints.
However, the one thing that left me unimpressed was the size of the easel. Though it held the 4x6-inch photos nicely, I wish it had a thicker and more professional appearance. The attached stand could be more sturdy, especially if you plan on using it for more presentable purposes like selling art cards.
In contrast, I found that the frames were easy to customize, enabling me to express my artistic side while displaying my favorite memories. If you're looking for a quick and easy way to showcase your photos, these cardboard frames are a great choice. Just remember to handle them with care to prevent tearing if you decide to use them for more professional purposes.
Overall, I've had a relatively smooth experience using these frames, but there's definitely room for improvement when it comes to their sturdiness and presentation.

I recently purchased the Novelty Bank Paper Photo Frame set and it has been a game-changer for displaying my favorite memories. The simple yet elegant design of these 30 kraft paper frames sets off my photos perfectly. The art paper used is thick and flat, and the full back protects my pictures from dust and oxidation. Measuring 6 1/8 INCH tall by 4 1/2 INCH wide, with a window sized 4 INCH by 3 INCH, these frames are the perfect accessory for adding a touch of charm to my rooms and walls.
One feature I particularly love is the adjustable design, which allows me to customize the size of the window to fit different sized photos. The included wooden clips and jute string make it easy to hang these frames wherever I want, creating a visually appealing display that is sure to impress.
However, I did experience a minor issue with the quality of the jute string. It was slightly frayed and snapped after a few uses. 2024.05.19 09:14 Streetli Deleuze without Ontology

I'm gonna try and make the case for Deleuze as a non-ontological thinker. It's a minority position, but it IS a position, one held by, among others, François Zourabichvili, Anne Sauvagnargues, Gregory Flaxman, and Gregg Lambert. I'm pretty persuaded by it, but I don't think it's all that well publicized, so this is an attempt to give it at least some airtime, if only to provoke some discussion, or cast things in (hopefully) a little bit of a new light.
--
The first point is simply textual: “establish a logic of the AND, overthrow ontology, destitute the ground...” - these are the lines that close out the first chapter of A Thousand Plateaus, where a logic of the “AND” is elevated over and against any logic of the “IS”. This is the first sense in which Deleuze is not an ontological thinker: he not only makes no effort to think ‘what is’, but works to displace the question of ‘what is?’ entirely. It would not be an exaggeration to say that the profusion of Deleuzian concepts - event, becoming, multiplicity, rhizome, etc - are all so many ways to think otherwise than ‘what is’. Of the event, for example, Deleuze wrote: “I’ve tried to discover the nature of events; it’s a philosophical concept, the only one capable of ousting the verb ‘to be’ and attributes.” (If anyone's interested, I wrote more about the logic of the 'AND' and its relation to 'becoming' in a previous post).
Already in Difference and Repetition is this project announced: “'What is X?' gives way to other questions, otherwise powerful and efficacious, otherwise imperative: 'How much, how and in what cases?’”. (DR,188) And note how he opposes the kind of questions these are: “These questions are those of the accident, the event, the multiplicity - of difference - as opposed to that of the essence, or that of the One, or those of the contrary and the contradictory.” (DR,188) Granting all this, is Deleuze still just substituting one kind of ontology for another kind of ontology? An ‘ontology of Being’ for an ‘ontology of Becoming,’ say? Why is Deleuze not offering just another ontology in a line of ’new’ ontologies? What’s at stake in the claim - most forcefully made by the late, great François Zourabichvili, that, “if there is an orientation of the philosophy of Deleuze, this is it: the extinction of the term ‘being’ and therefore of ontology”? (*swoon*).
In a word: the place of ethics. In his 1980/1 Spinoza lectures, Deleuze makes the curious claim that “there has never been but a single ontology. There is only Spinoza who has managed to pull off an ontology”(!). Why? Because only in Spinoza is Being not subordinated to something ‘above’ it by which Being can be judged. Spinoza’s “pure ontology… repudiates hierarchies” and thus lends itself to a way of engaging Being solely on its own terms: “immanent” terms. But a pure ontology does something very strange. It abolishes itself as ontology. Here is how Deleuze ends his lecture series: “At that point [with Spinoza], an ontology becomes possible; at that point, the ontology begins, and, at that point, the ontology ends. Yes, starts and ends, there we are, good, [Pause] it’s over”. In other words - an ontology unalloyed to hierarchy ceases be remain an ontology. It becomes something other. This is the basis of Zourabichvili’s claim that “the most glorious act of ontology [for Deleuze] … leads to its auto-abolition as a doctrine of being” (D:PE,38).
In place of hierarchy - and in place of what Deleuze calls ‘judgement’ & morality - is instead ‘ethology’. Ethology is nothing other than an ethics (distinguished from “morality”), but one that proceeds not on the basis of what things are, but instead, what things can do. Without going into the details, the significance of this move for ontology is that what a thing is is never given. Instead it varies with its circumstances: “For they always are, but in different ways, depending on whether the present affects threaten the thing or strengthen, accelerate, and increase it: poison or food? - with all the complications, since a poison can be a food for part of the thing considered” (S:PP,126).
This, in turn is the basis for Deleuze’s celebrated empiricism: to know what a body is, is to have to test it, to bring it to its limits, compose it with other bodies, likewise defined. Philosophy itself becomes a matter of cartography, of mapping: “A body is defined only by a longitude and a latitude… its relations of movement and rest, speed and slowness (longitude); the affects it is capable of at a given power or degree of potential (latitude)… Latitude and longitude are the two elements of a cartography” (ATP,262). Such a cartography is in the first instance ethical, insofar as it attempts to not "separate a body from what it can do" - such a separation being the mark of all ontology prior to Spinoza. In fact, if Deleuze is right, of all ontology that does not abolish itself.
Such then, are the stakes of a non-ontology! I'll offer just two other things that follow from this. First, Deleuze's increasing obsession with the concept of "Life", at the end of his career, can be traced to this non-ontological stance. Not ontology, but Life is the ground which Deleuze worked to tread upon in his late work, precisely because Life is just that which - as Nietzsche so insisted - cannot be judged. That Deleuze's last work was nothing other than "Immanence: a Life", attests to this. The definite article "a", is significant too, because it speaks to Deleuze's equally increased attention to Duns Scotus' concept of haecceity, which equally follows from the turning away from ontology. Anne Sauvagnargues has written more eloquently than I ever could on this issue, so I'll simply quote her on this (from her Deleuze and Art):
"As soon as this modal cartography of the haecceity is applied to individuation, everything changes. Art and philosophy become capable of treating individuality as an event, not as a thing. It is thus also possible to be interested in these perfect individualities that are well formed no matter the singularities, which the theory of substantial subjects could not accomplish. A season, a winter, “5 o’clock in the evening,” are such haecceities, or modal individualities that consist of relations of speeds and slownesses, capable of affecting or of being affected.
A quality of whiteness, the vibration of an hour, the squatting of a stone, and an afternoon in the steppe form these modes of individuation that are more fragile, less anthropomorphic, and not necessarily more unstable or evanescent, but much more interesting than human individuals, or rather, the divisions we are used to, which borrow some aspect of substance (a thing, an animal, a man). Instead of holding itself to clichés of form, art captures and renders such imperceptible forces perceptible." (p.45)
This should be enough, but I’ll only add one kinda scholarly thing . The eagle-eyed might have noticed that in Difference and Repetition, it isn’t Spinoza, but Scotus who is given credit for having ‘pulled off’ an ontology. Here’s the line: “There has only ever been one ontological proposition: Being is univocal. There has only ever been one ontology, that of Duns Scotus, which gave being a single voice” (D&R,35). My mini-thesis is that as Deleuze got more and more sus about ontology, he realized that the best way out of it, was through it. And it was only Spinoza - the Christ of philosophers - as Deleuze and Guattari put it - who offered the resources to explode ontology from the inside.
Oh, and because someone mentioned it elsewhere - yes, it's true, in the Logic of Sense Deleuze does say that "philosophy merges with ontology", but also - and here is Zourabichvili:
"Nevertheless, one might object, didn’t Deleuze himself explicitly write that “philosophy merges with ontology” (LS 179)? Let us assume this—the apologist for the term “being” must then explain how, in the same work, a concept of the transcendental fi eld can be produced (LS 14th–16th Series). We may begin by restoring the second half of the statement, intentionally ignored or poorly weighed: “...but ontology merges with the univocity of being.” A formidable example of the style or of the method of Deleuze—there is enough in it to pervert the entire ontological discourse" (Deleuze: A Philosophy of the Event, p.37).

2024.05.19 08:43 JelloAstronaut Unpopular opinion: I really liked Season 4 + 5

Ever since beginning this show, I have been told that the show 'starts getting worse after Season 2' or that the final two seasons are basically trash.
This has not been my experience, however. Even though I began Season 4 with reluctance, I found that it was a great collection of story lines that serve as the start of the end.
I thought Dr Narcisse was different that the villains we had gotten so far, but he was a great addition to the cast and approached things differently than Gyp Rosetti in Season 3. I also really liked the actor ever since WestWorld, so I might have been a bit bias having seen what he was capable of.
Season 5 was even better. I get it. They had to wrap things up prematurely and didn't quite have enough episodes. Ofcourse it felt a bit 'rushed'. But given what the team had to work with, I think they did the best that could have been done. I don't think you could have wrapped it up better in 8 episodes like they did. Not only did they have to do a time jump of over 5 years, but they had to wrap up like 10 story lines in 8 hours, and I think they did a fantastic job.
The finale is one of the best series finales I have ever watched, if we are going to be honest. The only gripe was that Tommy didn't have a lot of room to develop as a character, but it's understandable given the time constraints. It can be forgiven, and the sudden revelation of his identity helped in some regards, because a lot of us were as shocked as the protagonist (Nucky) when his scene played out at the end in between flashbacks of Gillian years ago.
So I don't get the hate. I really don't. I understand a lot of people didn't want James to die in Season 2, and some of those people had it in for the show ever since that point, but I for one felt that his death was necessary and bold, and that it gave the show a canvas for extensive creativity once his story was wrapped up. I was glad they didn't keep him alive to Season 5 until his character became a shell and a meme of what he once was, simply keeping him alive to please the fans.
When you think about it, this show had a lot of balls. They killed off a LOT of people, but it never felt out of place. It felt right. Chalkies death may be one of the best on screen deaths I've ever seen. And Narcisse getting clipped was amazing considering the content of the speech he had just given.
Also I have to say that Season 4 was classy as fuck. I don't know why, but the black leads in this show look so FUCKING GOOD in the suits. I am not trying to virtue signal, there are a few shots with Dunn or Chalky where they looked absolutely baller in their threads. Just amazing.
Amazing set design, some of the best ever made. This show would have been better if HBO hadn't neutered it so soon, but I think the team made the best of what they had, and I loved every second of it.

I know this isn’t exactly a meme but I didn’t know where else to post this:
Imagine, dear friend, in the tiniest space, Where particles zip and they zoom and they race. With colors like red, green, and blue in the mix, They dance and they twirl, doing quantum tricks.
Quarks are the stars of this quirky parade, With gluons as glue in the games that they’ve played. They stick and they pull with a powerful force, Binding together with no set course.
Up quarks and down quarks and strange ones, oh my! They spin and they shimmer, they don’t just comply. Quantum Chromodynamics, that’s the name of this game, Where the rules are all wacky and nothing’s the same.
So next time you wonder how matter’s arranged, Just think of this tale where physics gets strange. In a world so minute, where the weird things collide, Quantum quirks and their colors make quite the ride!

Completed my collection of Classic Scooby Doo VHS Tapes!
I finally found a copy of the Mine Your Own Business Tape! It was a tough one to find, but I finally have all 8 tapes for this VHS series. Fun fact, this is the only tape without a bonus cartoon. I cannot wait to watch it. It’s the only one they didn’t have at my BlockBuster when I was a kid <3
