Tutorial hibrido os 6 bold 9000

Need help with fresh install of windows. This is racking my brain.

2024.05.19 19:45 AffectionateEye420 Need help with fresh install of windows. This is racking my brain.

Basically, my OS is currently on a 256gb Sata SSD. I purchased a new 1tb sata SSD that I'd like to use as my boot drive now.
No matter what I do, what tutorials I follow, I cannot get it to work.
This is what I've done:
I've installed the Windows 10 ISO file from Media Creation Tool. Transfered it to a USB drive using Rufus. The first time I did this and tried booting up, I got the message ERROR: BIOS/LEGACY BOOT OF UEFI-ONLY MEDIA. Fine, I went back to Rufus, changed it to MBR and Bios (Uefi_com). Tried it again and was hit with : No Operating System Found.
The closest I've gotten it to work was when I just used MCT to make the boot drive. I managed to get to the windows install screen, clicked onto my new SSD to download the OS to there but halfway through the download it tells me that there are files missing and it can't be completed.
Im not looking to clone my old SSD either. Just want a fresh install on my new one.
Also, everytime I'd try to boot up, I would disconnect any of my old drives and only connect the USB and my new SSD.
I've been trying this for the last 6 hours and I'm on the verge of giving up. If someone can give some tips, that would be much appreciated.

Error appearing in Classic 5 properties box
Hi, I cannot tell if you are still collecting error reports for Geogebra Classic 5, but I just got an interesting error. Hopefully the image will appear correctly below and save many words. Basically I was making an alteration to an existing Line object when I accidentally typed something wrong. I immediately corrected myself, so quickly that I didn't even notice what I was that I'd typed wrong… however, the error message has remained ever since.

This Guide Will Likely Not Be Updated. See Latest Version Here

While /3DSPiracy isn’t typically about Citra or other software used for emulation of 3DS games and apps, there’s few good places on Reddit to discuss 3DS Emulation. And because there are some ways for games running on official hardware to interact with 3DS Emulation software, we’ve created this guide to provide some useful information about 3DS Emulation If you note any incorrect or missing information in this guide, please post a comment below or here.

3DS Emulation Software (Citra and the rest)

Citra - No longer being updated, but still available for Windows, Android, and Linux
Note: In early 2024, Nintendo filed a lawsuit against the creators of Yuzu, a Nintendo Switch emulation software. In the settlement, Nintendo shut down the development of Yuzu, and (because the same developers were working on other stuff), Citra and the 3DS FBI app also ceased development. However, the latest update of Citra is still available.

Useful 3DS Applications to interact with Citra

Interaction Between 3DS Hardware and 3DS Emulators

Automatically Sync Saves Between 3DS and Dropbox
  1. Install 3DSync
  2. Set it up with Dropbox
  3. Back up your saves with Checkpoint. See Checkpoint Guide Here
  4. Launch 3DSync
Note: It currently only uploads all your /3ds/Checkpoint/saves to Dropbox.
Manually Migrate Saves from 3DS to Citra
  1. Back up saves with Checkpoint. See Checkpoint Guide Here
  2. Copy the save files from your 3DS SD Card, located in sdmc:/3DS/Checkpoint/Saves
  3. Copy these files into the relevant Citra folder - to access this easily just open Citra and right click on a game in the directory and select "Open save data location".
Note: For some games (e.g.: Fire Emblem Fates), some of the extra save slots will be saved in the extra data instead. You need to back these up separately in the checkpoint application. To access extra data in Checkpoint, press X. These files will be in: 3ds/checkpoint/extdata. Next, right click on the relevant game in the Citra game directory and select "open extra data location". Copy the files into the “User” folder.
Migrate Saves from Citra to 3DS
  1. Make sure you’ve installed and launched Checkpoint on your 3DS.
  2. Shut off your 3DS and Insert your 3DS SD card into your computer.
  3. Open Citra and right click your target game, then click "Open Save Data Location".
  4. On your 3DS SD Card, open sdmc:/3DS/Checkpoint/Saves. Create a new folder in there with any name (e.g.: Pokémon_Citra_Save)
  5. Select all files in the folder in Step 3. Copy them to the folder you created in Step 4.
  6. Reinsert your SD Card back into your 3DS and launch Checkpoint.
  7. Select the target game and select your save, then press R (restore) button to transfer your save from SD card.

Decoding Swift for Unity Devs - Live Course incl. Q&A and Mentorship
Tuesday, May 28, 2024 [ 10:00 AM PT / 7:00 PM CET ] 👉 Click to Register! 👈
Are you a Unity developer who knows C# but would like to transition to Swift (Native) to start building apps and games for the Apple ecosystem? (MacOS, iOS, VisionOS)
With the release of Apple's Vision Pro, widespread adoption might be around the corner, and there is no better time for developers to start learning Swift than today. Of course, plenty of Swift tutorials are already available, but our exclusive live course is designed specifically for Unity developers. We'll cover Swift coding concepts and workflows tailored to your C#/Unity background, helping you master Swift lightning fast and in-depth!
—--------------------—-----

Is this course for you?

  • If you are an XR developer (you know Unity and C#) interested in bringing your apps or games to the Vision Pro.
  • You would like to learn Apple’s development tools hands-on to develop native applications for the Apple Vision Pro.
  • You have 2-3 hours of time to spend with us on a live course showing you the similarities and differences between developing with C# and Swift
—-----------—-------------

Course Outline:

  1. The Tools (Xcode, Reality Composer Pro) -- We begin by quickly walking through the prerequisites to get you up and running with XCode. We show some of the similarities between Unity’s component-based MonoBehaviouGameObject System and Components/Entities in Reality Composer Pro.
  2. Structs, Views, and Closures (the building blocks of AVP development) -- Unity engineering is built around classes, while Swift-based engineering is built around structs. We will address the implications this has for how state is passed around. We will also look at anonymous methods, which are occasionally used in Unity development and are a central concept in Vision Pro development, which they are called "closures"
  3. Nullable variables exist in C#. In Swift, the equivalent is "optional variables,” which are used frequently. We will discuss “nil”, and the “?” and “!” operators. Familiarity with these concepts is critical to understanding Swift code.
  4. Enums are heavily utilized in Vision Pro code to implement state machine functionality. We cover Swift’s powerful enum feature and compare it to how enums work in C#.
  5. Property wrappers are a powerful feature of Swift that enables you to trigger logic when a value is modified. Although the syntax can look strange initially, we explain property wrappers so that you can use them and recognize them in Swift code.
  6. Assignment & Q&A
—--------------------—-----

Speaker:

James Ashley, Apple Vision Pro Lead Developer at Imaginative Universal
James, with over a decade in spatial computing, computer vision, and machine learning, excels as a Principal XR Engineer at Project Archer, a pioneering AR startup under Walmart's innovation wing, Store No. 8. His expertise spans developing for advanced platforms like Apple Vision Pro, HoloLens 2, and Magic Leap 2. At Project Archer, he spearheaded the engineering for Walmart's Apple Vision Pro app, actively contributing from ideation to coding. James is also noted for his educational contributions to mixed reality development and his passion for enhancing user interfaces with AI.

2024.05.16 16:52 ImNotHereForThisShit Sharing my experience to fix random FPS drop / micro stutter

For those who had FPS drop / micro stutter in osu! while playing can try this and hopefully fix the problem.
Here's my specs OS : Windows 11 Processor : AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Motherboard : ASRock B450 Pro4 BIOS ver P3.50 Graphics Card : NVIDIA GTX 1660 Ti Memory RAM : 4x8 GB (32 GB) 2666 MHz
[1] Place osu! on SSD if you have.
This is for better overall performance on song selection and gameplay.
[2] On NVIDIA Control Panel -> Manage 3D Settings -> Set Power management mode to Prefer maximum performance.
This keep the GPU Clock to high performance, because osu! use very little power in my PC, when I checked with MSI Afterburner the core clock actually so low while playing and causing FPS to drop then stay in low FPS which will go up again after switching program (alt-tab).
*** I don't know about AMD / Intel Graphic Card settings, maybe someone can put tutorial in the comments for similar settings.
[3] Uncheck busy CPU Core on Affinity and set High on Priority for osu!.exe process.
By checking System Information in System Informer software (Show one graph per CPU), you can see that only single CPU busy processing (That's the case in my PC), so uncheck that CPU Core on affinity settings. This is the only reliable fix to prevent micro stutter in my PC.
*** I can do this because my CPU has 6 cores and 12 threads, I don't know if it works for CPUs with fewer cores.
This is not recommended just like peppy's comment on old post mentioned by u/worst_genshin_player, found new way to fix below [4].
[4] Disable C-State in BIOS settings
I noticed that if C-State enabled, only single CPU busy processing instead of using all available cores which causing micro stutter, by disabling the C-State all CPU will be used and fix the problem in my case.
Now I can play osu! with Chrome, Discord, other games still running in the background and don't have any problem anymore.

2024.05.16 05:14 WeatherProof466 QGIS - Plugin Builder 3 on macOS

Hello everybody!
I am currently making a pluging but it does not showing up in Qgis -> manage and install plugins.
This is the tutorial im following https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GccxvQ1ypbc
Here are the steps I followed to develop a new plugin for QGIS using macOS:
  1. Used Plugin Builder 3 within QGIS to make the plugin structure.
  2. Then in MacOS terminal, navigated to the Plugin Directory: cd /Users/myusername/Documents/myproject
  3. Set Up Python Environments: - Created a Python 3 environment for general use:
    • python3 -m venv py3_env
    • source py3_env/bin/activate
  4. Created a virtual environment specifically for Qt5 dependencies:
    • virtualenv qt5_env
    • source qt5_env/bin/activate
  5. Installed pyrcc5: - to compiles Qt Resource Collection files (`.qrc`) into Python modules:
    • pip install PyQt5
  6. Compiled Resource File: - Convert the `.qrc` resource file to a Python file using `pyrcc5`:
  7. Create a Symlink: - Made a symbolic link in the QGIS plugin directory pointing to my plugin development directory:
    • cd /Applications/QGIS-LTR.app/Contents/MacOS/../PlugIns/qgis
    • ln -s /Users/myusername/Documents/myproject /Applications/QGIS-LTR.app/Contents/MacOS/../PlugIns/qgis/myproject
  8. Verify the Symlink: - Checked that the symlink was created correctly:
    • ls -l /Applications/QGIS-LTR.app/Contents/MacOS/../PlugIns/qgis (it worked)
  9. Restart QGIS: - Ensured that QGIS was restarted to load the new plugin. Also checked that experimental plugins are enabled in QGIS plugin settings to see the newly developed plugin.
Then it should be available as a plugin however, that is not the case for me. Unfortunately... Do you have any suggestions?

Stuck on domain not reachable in New AIO instance
Hi,
I'm completely stuck on the message "Domain is not reachable on Port 443 from within this container. I've watched videos, searched everywhere in forums and video's but to no avail. As you can see in the picture I'm clearly able to connect to the domain I want to use otherwise I would not get the Nextcloud New AIO instance screen.
I'm running Ubuntu 22.04 LTS. I used the yml-file as shown below.
The weird thing is that I tried it on Windows 11 and that works, so something is just off.
Is there someone who has had this issue in the past and knows a solution? I'm stuck on this issue for almost a week now and am almost to the point of just giving up on Ubuntu and install it on Windows...

2024.05.16 00:30 AutoModerator General Questions Thread, May 15, 2024

A thread for new collectors to ask basic questions of the community.
Frequently Asked Questions below!
A longer version of the subreddit rules is here.
For questions specifically concerning bootlegs or vendor legitimacy, please ask in the Bootleg Megathread.
NSFW & Spoiler Guidelines
  • For Self Posts: include a bolded NSFW note next to links in that post.
  • For Links to sites/images: If the figure is NSFW, or the website has any NSFW content (including ads) be sure to tag your post NSFW and use the appropriate link flair.
Bootlegs
Any collection posts containing bootlegs, comments advocating buying bootlegs, or links to sites selling bootlegs, recasts, or unlicensed merchandise will be removed.
People often ask about the legitimacy and/or safety of a number of websites which sell large resin statues. The more commonly-asked of those deal primarily in resins from studios which do not have a license from the Japanese IP holders to produce merchandise. Therefore links to those sites are not permitted here. Another sign is if MyFigureCollection doesn't list the either the statue, its manufacturer, or the shop it's being sold on.
MyFigureCollection
My Figure Collection is like MyAnimeList... but for figures! Their database includes thousands of items which been produced during the last couple of decades, along with reviews of shops and other helpful articles. One can also list their own collection and post gallery photos.

Buying & Shipping

1. What’s the best place to buy my anime figures from?
That’s going to depend a lot on what works for you, but most people around here buy them from Amiami, Big in Japan, Hobby Search, HobbyLink Japan, or Tokyo Otaku Mode. If none of those work for you for whatever reason, there’s a list of reputable retailers in the sidebar that you can check out at any time. Be extra careful when ordering figures from websites like Amazon or ebay, as there are a lot of bootlegs on those sites. Don’t be afraid to ask in our Bootleg Megathread if you’re unsure.
2. What differences are there between the shipping options I get from most Japanese shops?
Below is a rundown of the main shipping choices you’ll get at most retailers. Keep in mind that if an order is large enough you will be forced to use one of the more expensive options, as SAL shipments have lower size and weight restrictions.
  • Unregistered SAL: Sometimes referred to as uSAL, is usually the cheapest method. It does not come with any tracking or insurance. Usually takes up 2-4 weeks for delivery.
  • Registered SAL: Sometimes referred to as rSAL, is insured for the declared value up to 6,000 yen. It comes with a tracking number and usually takes 2-4 weeks for delivery.
  • EMS: This method of shipping is much faster than either SAL options, usually arriving within a week of shipment. EMS shipments are insured for the declared value up to 2,000,000 yen.
  • Airmail
  • E-packet
  • Surface: Shops don't offer this very often. It's an actual cargo ship and slow as a result.
  • DHL: Becoming more available as an alternative to EMS on AmiAmi and other sites. Can be less expensive than EMS and of comparable speed, but may be more reliant on the specific geographical area being shipped to. The price is also determined by the size of the box. Offers their own tracking.
3. I placed two+ orders for figures at different times. Will my items be shipped together, or will I have to pay shipping twice?
Most shops will ask you to pay shipping on a per-order basis, but here are some that will allow combined shipping:
  • Amiami: You can combine orders here, as long as the orders ship in the same month. It doesn’t matter if the item is new or preowned. Any preorders that are set for that month can also be combined with other orders for that month. However, be aware that if the preorder gets delayed, Amiami will remove that item from that month’s shipment and place it on a new order. To combine orders on Amiami, use the “Combine Orders” feature under “My Account”.
  • Hobby Search: Hobby Search will let you combine orders that release in the same month, but you cannot combine in stock items with preorders. If you want to combine multiple preorders, or multiple in stock items, you can do so using the “Order Recombination” feature on your account page.
  • HobbyLink Japan: At HLJ, you have the option to send paid orders to their “Private Warehouse”, where you can store them for up to 2 months. When you’re ready to ship the items, you simply select which items to ship and HLJ will combine them into one shipment for you. To use this, just select the “Private Warehouse” option as shipping when you order.
If you’re unsure about whether or not a shop we haven’t listed will combine your orders, please refer to their individual FAQs.
4. When will I get charged for my preorder?
Most Japanese shops charge you once the item is in stock and ready for shipment. When that happens, they will send you an email asking for payment. Some shops (mostly overseas ones), will allow you to pay for the item up front though, if you’d like. A few with that option are:
  • Big in Japan (Japanese store)
  • Tokyo Otaku Mode
  • Anime Island
  • Crunchyroll
Keep in mind that overseas stores will likely get the figure a few months after Japanese ones, so pay attention to the release date stated on the website you are buying from so as to avoid that confusion.
5. Should I expect to pay customs fees when importing figures?
That depends on where you live. Here’s a quick rundown:
  • Australia: 10% GST is now assessed up front.
  • Canada: Minimum declared value for charges is around CAD$20 for regular shipments, and CAD$60 for gifts (gifting something only seems to lower the declared value by about CAD$40, not deplete it completely). When using Amiami, try their Small Air Packet option. It comes with tracking, gets there in about the same time as EMS, and is better at avoiding customs.
  • European Union: As of 1st July 2021, VAT has to be paid on all goods imported from outside of the EU. Retailers are supposed charge VAT for purchases under €150, however many Japanese retailers currently do not, so VAT will be charged when your order arrives in the EU. Orders that are >€150, VAT and duty will be charged by your local customs.
  • UK: As of 1st January 2021, VAT is to be charged by retailers for orders <£135. However, customs isn't currently charging VAT on parcels valued at <£135, even if the VAT hasn't been paid. Goods >£135 will have their VAT and duty calculated and charged by customs.
  • Mexico: Minimum declared value for customs fees is USD$300 for shipments by post, and USD$50 for shipments by courier.
  • United States: A shipment has to have a declared value of USD$2,000 before customs starts hitting you with fees, so you most likely won’t have to worry about them at all.
6. The figure I want is an exclusive, how do I go about ordering one outside of Japan?
You have three options for this:
A. Big in Japan is known to stock exclusive figures and ship to other countries. Usually the price is higher because they build in their proxy fees, but it’s easier than worrying about using a forwarder or proxy service. If you live in the US, Crunchyroll, Right Stuf, and Tokyo Otaku Mode also get exclusives sometimes, but out of the states the shipping can get expensive.
B. Forwarding Services: A forwarder is someone who you ship an exclusive item to so that they can forward the package on to you, usually for a flat fee + shipping. When using a forwarder you still make the purchase yourself, and enter their address into the shipping field. When the box arrives at the forwarder they will then stick your address onto the package and send it on its way.
Some popular forwarders are:
Be sure to read each sites instructions on forwarding carefully!
C. Proxy Services: With a proxy, you tell them what the item you’re looking for is and they will purchase it in your stead. This is handy for when a company doesn’t accept foreign credit cards, or you’re having trouble navigating a Japanese website.
Some popular proxies are:
Again, be sure you thoroughly read through each sites proxy instructions.
7. I see a bunch of really cheap figures that ship from China on ebay. Are those okay to buy?
Generally, no. They’re most likely bootlegs. If you want a second opinion on that, feel free to ask in the Bootleg Megathread that’s always stickied at the top of the sub.
8. What’s a bootleg, and how can I avoid buying them?
A bootleg is a counterfeit figure often made using rejected molds of the official product. They are usually priced significantly lower than the genuine article, and in order to make their profit, bootleggers use lower quality materials and have less attention to detail- resulting in a substandard figure.
The Bootleg Megathread that I mentioned in question 7 is a great tool to avoid buying any bootlegs. It has a few tips and tricks to avoiding them to begin with, and a few more on how to spot them if you’re worried you might already own one.
9. Does anyone know when figure X is going to be released? How do I know if it was delayed?
My Figure Collection (sometimes referred to as MFC) does an excellent job of staying on top of information like release dates and delays. If you’re curious about an upcoming figures release date, check there first. This information can be found directly under the “Releases” section on a figure’s entry. If you only see a month and a year in that section, it means the release date has not yet been announced by the manufacturer, and there is still a chance the figure could be delayed.
If you make an account on MFC you can also subscribe to comments, changes, and pictures via a checkbox on the right hand side of a figure’s listing. Subscribing to any of these things will allow MFC to send you an email anytime the subscription in question updates. Subscribing to “changes” is a great way to keep up with release dates and delays, among other things.
10. The figure I want is long sold out at normal retailers! What’s the best place to pick it up in the aftermarket?
A list of reputable retailers can be found under the “Shops” section of the /AnimeFigures sidebar. They all sell legitimate products, and many of them also sell figures second hand. However, the most frequently suggested second hand sites are Mandarake and Amiami- who has a preowned section that they update every night save Sundays and Japanese holidays around 1PM JST and again around 6PM JST.
AmiAmi grades their pre-owned items on a letter scale. The general consensus from buyers is that their ratings are conservative, so unless the item and/or packaging is specifically indicated as having significant flaws, pre-owned items from them are usually in at least as good a condition as their rating suggests.
Note: When you search Mandarake, you’ll get the best results by using the Japanese characters for whatever you are searching. If you don’t know them, you can find them on MFC by clicking on any of the “details” in that figure’s listing.
11. Amiami has a figure I’m interested in labeled as “For sale in Japan only”. Does this mean I can’t order it without a proxy or forwarder?
No, you can still order it. Amiami’s English site has that warning on many items, and it’s mostly meant to inform you that this product was made for a Japanese market, and as such, will have Japanese speaking/writing in it- so don’t expect any instructions to be in English. If Amiami doesn’t want foreigners buying a certain product, they won’t even list it on their English site.

Displaying Your Figures

12. What display cases do you recommend?
If you live near an Ikea try out one of these:
  • Klingsbo
  • Billy (Often used with Morliden doors (now the HÖGBO and glass shelves.)
  • Detolf: Formerly the go-to choice for inexpensive display cabinetry, the Detolf was first made flimsier around 2020 and then essentially phased out of the name, to become the BLÅLIDEN. Knockoff versions of widely-varying quality are commonly found on other shopping sites these days, though.
*If you decided on a Detolf, you might find that there is a lot of wasted space. Here are a few tutorials on raising the shelves or and adding extra ones in.
If you don’t live near an Ikea, Amazon has a few display options, though they are more expensive. Also keep an eye on your local Craigslist (or your country’s equivalent) and stores near you that are closing up.
13. What lighting do you guys recommend?
Ikea’s Dioder LED strips were discontinued after a long run. A current version is the Vattensten, if you're inclined to buy your case and lights at the same time.
LED strips have become very commonly available in recent years; most hardware and home furnishing stores carry a selection now. Just make sure that the lights don’t get too hot!
14. What are those clear plastic boxes that I see under everyone’s figures in their collection posts, and where can I get them?
Those are called risers. Most of us use standard acrylic risers like these. Some other, easy to find things that have been suggested are:
Check your local hobby store for the first 2 options, or your local hardware store if you want to make your own.
Another common suggestion is to visit The Container Store if you have one near you. They have a lot of things to choose from that can suit a variety of needs. Be sure to check out their standard acrylic risers, their Amac boxes, and the various display cases they sell (baseball cases, mini car cases. hockey puck cases, etc).
15. Should I keep my figures sealed?
That is, of course, up to you really, but here are a few things to keep in mind when debating this question:
  • Keeping it sealed can actually damage your figure. PVC figures usually have something called plasticizer in them, and that plasticizer needs to be able to breath. If a PVC figure isn’t exposed to oxygen, after a period of time the plasticizer starts to break down and form a sticky substance on the surface of the figure. Simply opening your figures and taking them out of the box prevents this from happening. If you happen to find plasticizer goo on one of your figures, Kahotan has a handy guide for dealing with it.
  • Unlike some other figure markets, keeping an anime figure sealed won’t raise its value by a whole lot. In fact, because of the plasticizer problem mentioned above, your figure could actually be in better condition if you open it versus keeping it sealed.

Finding the Right Figure(s) for You

16. What are "scales" and "prizes"? What is the difference between them?
Those are classifications for figures based on a few factors.
  • "Prizes" are generally more simply produced figures which are intended to be given as prizes for playing arcade games. They are inexpensive and lack the detail of scale figures, though some prize figure lines have standouts which may approach lower-end scales in quality. That is uncommon and often depends on the individual figure.
  • "Scales" are called such because they are nominally designed to be proportional to the dimensions of the character which they are based on. They are generally of much better manufacture and materials than prize figures, allowing for more detail in painting, accessories, or complex poses.
  • "Trading" figures appear in gashapon machines or as blind boxes on shop counters, often as sets which include multiple characters. As suggested by the class name, the randomness encourages trading. They are usually very inexpensively-produced, though as with prizes, some series are better than others.
  • "Non-scale" encompasses a variety of other categories. It is often used to describe poseable figure lines such as figma and Nendoroids.
In recent years producers such as Good Smile Company attempted to further bridge the gap between prize quality and scales by introducing figure lines which are intended to be moderately-priced while retaining a higher level of detail than the typical prize figure, to varying levels of success.
17. There are so many figure companies! Who makes good figures?!
Obviously this is a very subjective question, but as a general starting point, here are a few well renowned figure companies:
  • Alter
  • Max Factory
  • Good Smile Company
  • Kotobukiya (usually hit or miss for people. Use your best judgement based off of the prototype)
  • Flare
  • Stronger
18. I really love “series X / character X”- how can I check if any figures were ever made for it?
My Figure Collection can be your best friend here. Simply do a search on the name of the series or character using the search bar located at the top right of the screen, and all associated figures pop up!
Alternatively, if you’re looking at a figure’s MFC entry, most of the text under the “Details” section can be clicked on and used to run a search.
19. How can I commission a custom figure?
None of the major figure companies (Alter, Kotobukiya, Good Smile Company, etc.) will take a commission for a single figure. This thread has a few websites in it that you can check out, or you can look into garage kits. Some kit painters would be willing to resculpt, frankenstein together, or otherwise modify kits for the right price.
If you're looking for help completing a garage kit, /brushforhire may be useful.

Keeping Up with New Announcements

20. How can I keep up with figure news (announcements, updates, etc.)?
Most people use a MFC combined with any or all of the following news sites:
Many figure companies are active on Twitter, so following them there is recommended for quicker news.
To use MFC for this I’ll quote question #9.
Most companies have one or more Twitter accounts. Some examples: Good Smile Company sales, Good Smile's USA branch, Max Factory, AmiAmi Hobby News.
21. Everyone’s excited about something called Wonfes….. what the heck is that?!
WonFes (short for Wonder Festival) is a biannual figure expo where many figure producers (both large and small) show off new sculpts and updates to figures already under way. Most companies save their most exciting announcements for WonFes, so we all look forward to the expo whenever it rolls around! Winter Wonder Festival is usually held in February, while Summer Wonder Festival is usually in July. The event has also spread to Shanghai, in the late spring.
22. One or two (or 15) figures were announced at WonFes that I’m really excited about! How can I keep track of their progress once the event is over?
MFC is always really quick about getting new WonFes announcements (or any others throughout the year, for that matter) listed in their database, so we suggest using that. To find a figure from the event you can search any number of things, including the name of the character or the name of the show. You can also use the tag search to search “WonderFestival 20xx_[season]” to see all items announced at that event.

2024.05.15 19:06 PerroRosa 'docker build .' hangs indefinitely.

I'm new at Docker, trying to learn. I'm following a step by step tutorial. I created the initial files, including obviously the Docker file. When I run "docker build ." in the terminal nothing happens, no error, no feedback, nothing, it just hangs there, I have to FORCE QUIT every time.
Now, at first I thought that maybe my Dockfile, or other file were wrong, so I created the sample project that comes with the Docker Desktop App. It tells you to clone a git repository and then run the same command in the directory, but the same happens. Which makes me believe the issue is somewhere else and not my original project files.
One detail that may be relevant is that I'm using MacOS Big Sur (can't upgrade OS anymore), so I had to install the latest compatible version of Docker (Docker version 24.0.6, build ed223bc) and no the newest. Any idea?

2024.05.15 13:02 fmacchia Problem with HTML/Show in Quick Look action

iOS 17.5
Recently updated to 17.5 and now the “Show Rich Text From HTML In Quick Look” action is not displaying the output correctly. Tried various shortcuts with different HTML and got the same result.
Not sure if the ?s in the output (see below) are the problem but I hadn’t made any changes to the HTML.
Below is an example of what is displayed in Quick Look.
Anyone having the same issue or a possible solution to something that worked correctly in previous versions of iOS?
Instead of a formatted report this is shown in Quick Look.

2024.05.15 00:41 KSJaay A developers experience: From Arc on MacOS to Windows

I've been using Arc for over a year now on MacOS and have been waiting for it to come to Windows. Now that it's finally on Windows and I've had the last 4-5 months, here are some of my thoughts.
For people like myself who hate reading long reviews I've made all titles bold so it's easy to read :D

Pros of MacOS:

Cons of MacOS:

There aren't many if I'm being honest, the only issues I've noticed is high CPU/RAM usage at random times. I've tried looking at the extensions tab/task manager to see if any extensions are slowing down Arc, but didn't find anything out of the ordinary. I've also tried disabling the extensions for a bit, but that didn't seem to help. Performance wise it definitely seems like Chrome is still better, but I that isn't a deal breaker for me.

Quality of life:

Windows:

Arc has been on Windows for nearly 6 months now, and I've been using it as my daily driver. With the recent full release, I thought I'd give my opinion of the browser along with reporting some bugs. For some of the pros I won't be giving extra information as the same opinions apply from MacOS to Windows.

Pros of Windows:

Cons of Windows:

There's a LOT of missing features between MacOS and Windows but I'm not going to cover those. I'm mainly going to cover issues I've found overtime, and things that have been added as "features" but don't really work.
Conclusion:
Arc on MacOS is great and has better experience/features than most other browser (there may be some better paid browser options). While there are some CPU and RAM usage issues, it overall works really well. I hope Arc keeps up the great work they're doing on MacOS and introducing new features. It's also been nice that a browser has focused a little bit more on developer experience, rather than needing the developers to spend hours creating their owner features.
Arc on Windows is a bit of a different story. I agree with most of the community, Arc decided to release any unfinished/bug application. But, on the other hand if you've ever worked in tech we all know why they released it as a buggy application. Arc on Windows is not the same application as Arc on MacOS, there are still a lot of core features that made Arc amazing to use on MacOS missing from Windows. I honestly hope some of these feature get introduced soon on Windows and hopefully the bugs are also fixed. Especially the bugs to do with DevTools, once they're fixed I'll move to always using Arc on Windows.

Arc Developers

If you're a developer for Arc and reading this, you guys are doing an amazing job with Arc and keep up the great work. I'm excited to see what you all have been working on, and can't wait to see the new features for Arc on Windows and MacOS.

TL;DR

You're on MacOS? Try Arc, if you don't like it then it's not for you and that's fine.
You're on Windows? Try Arc, if you don't like it give it 6 months and then try it again. If you still don't like it then it's not for you and that's fine.

Hope you're having an amazing day <3

2024.05.14 15:38 MarioMakerLegend I've been doing an 100 Days but the version upgrades everyday in Betacraft, any thoughts?

This is probably the most ambitious project I've done, but I'm on day 62 as of writing this, and it's been a blast! Here are my notes for every day in this: Day 1 (inf-20100607) Did nothing more than make myself a house and get food. Wood seemed scarce, so I mined coal during the night.
Day 2 (inf-20100608) Lit up the area, and made myself a cloth cap and shirt. The first sapling grew today, so I chopped it down and replanted.
Day 1 (again) (inf-20100611) Minecraft decided that my world didn't exist so I had to restart. Not too hard, though. I had to quickly build myself a wooden house (good thing there were so many trees!) and hide in there for the night. I didn't have coal, so no torches, and no torches means no light, and no light means PITCH BLACK nights. I was genuinely scared by this. Also, the skeletons and zombies made player noises. Weird.
Day 2 (again) (inf-20100615) Finished the wood shack and installed windows (not the OS, mind you). Then I added a tube to the back of the mineshaft to get to my house easier, and I also went mining. Found coal, but didn't have enough time to mine it due to it being update time.
Day 3 (inf-20100616-1) Decided to make a giant cobblestone nerd-pole so that I wouldn't get lost when exploring. Speaking of exploring, I did just that... for a little bit. That was very short-lived. I ended up mining for a while, and found the void-lava.
Day 4 (inf-20100617-1) Today was so far the most successful mining trip. I nerded out about the old trees having logs on the inside and the new trees not having that and those two kinds of trees being right next to each other. That's a run on sentence isn't it? Then I went into the mines and found more iron than I can count. Like I said, successful.
Day 5 (inf-20100617-2) Mining trip was good. Got more iron and found some void gold (a gold vein that exposed the void). It was cool.
Day 6 (inf-20100618, Seecret Friday 1) I screwed around with minecarts.
Day 7 (inf-20100624) Decided to light up the area around spawn, but not in spawn. Decided to fight baddies for the heck of it that night. Also made the house look more appealing.
Day 8 (inf-20100625-1) Everything that I placed and did in the last day got reversed to how they were on Day 6, except for my inventory. I spent the day fixing everything. In the night, I went mining and found more iron. No diamonds D:
Day 9 (inf-20100625-2, Seecret Friday 2) Today they added dungeons and some other stuff but it's not very important to me right now. Went mining for the day.
Day 10 (inf-20100627) Nothing interesting was added today so I went exploring to find water. I also made a glass room in my mine to tell the time.
Day 11 (inf-20100630-1) Infdev 20100629 didn't wanna work. So here we are, at 20100630-1. Stairs were added in the last version, so I added stairs to my mine. The stairs sure are finnicky, though! I also filled a creeper blast with water (that is surprisingly calming...)
Day 12 (inf-20100630-2) The last Infdev day. Tomorrow it will be Alpha! To prepare for the long journey of Alpha releases I built a new addition to the house. Finally, I made a sign and a shrine for Infdev. Farewell!
Day 13 (a1.0.1_01) Last version was Seecret Friday, but the file is lost and I have to play this version. But there are so many changes!! Excited! Didn't find redstone in the mines, though. I also finished the new room and organized the chests.
Day 14 (a1.0.2_01) Went exploring for some coal and cooked all my pork chops.
Day 15 (a1.0.2_02) Can't remember much other than that I went mining. That's it I guess?
Day 16 (a1.0.3) Went exploring for some coal but found a cool cave and also found lots of coal and iron
Day 17 (a1.0.4, Seecret Friday 4) Same as Day 16.
Day 18 (a1.0.5) Went back home and decided to go strip-mining because caving didn't go very well. Not much happened.
Day 19 (a1.0.5_01) There is a new project now; I am carving my face on a mountain. Gonna need a lot of stone though. And gravel. Lots and lots of gravel.
Day 20 (a1.0.6, Seecret Friday 5) Cactuses were added. Neat I guess. Also Boats. But that doesn't apply to what I did today because what I did today was work on my face. I went to get gravel. There was a lot of gravel.
Day 21 (a1.0.6_01) Marked the gravel spot, got distracted, and now I'm lost. at least I found a cactus!
Day 22 (a1.0.6_03) Using the power of looking back at the footage, I was able to return home! With the cactus! Yippee!
Day 23 (a1.0.7) Continued work on the face: I did it! Now I am making the body. Might need more gravel...
Day 24 (a1.0.8_01) i died.
Day 25 (a1.0.9) I continued working on my statue of me and got some more gravel. Had 1 block left after finishing!
Day 26 (a1.0.10) Went strip mining, found no diamonds.
Day 27 (a1.0.11, Seecret Friday 6) This update, lots of cool stuff was added but nothing that I can use. Went strip mining and found zero diamonds.
Day 28 (a1.0.12) The splash was "missingno" for some reason. Anyways, continued working on a giant tower. Ladders suck
Day 29 (a1.0.13) Finished the tower. Ladders STILL suck...
Day 30 (a1.0.13_01) Got bored of building so I went in one direction to find some sugarcane. Found some and am going back
Day 31 (a1.0.13_01 1Kin24h edition) The title screen was changed to say 1K in 24h because Minecraft sold 1,000 units in 24 hours! That might not seem like a lot but at the time that was big news. ANYWAYS, got back home and planted sugarcane, and also made a bookshelf. Also, bricks!
Day 32 (a1.0.14-1, Seecret Friday 7) Chickens and chest minecarts and furnace minecarts are added and I WANT A RAIL SYSTEM so I decided that my face could be a cart station. also iron doors suck
Day 33 (a1.0.14-2) What did I do... Oh yeah i put a tower compass thing.
Day 34 (a1.0.15) Played Minecraft, Watched Hermitcraft, Got Gravel.
Day 35 (a1.0.16) Mined some dirt
Day 36 (a1.0.16_01) placed the dirt replacing the sand, also paths.
Day 37 (a1.0.16_02) paths. PATHS!!!!!!1!
Day 38 (a1.0.17_02) Fences were added in alpha 1.0.17 but that version and a1.0.7_01 are lost so this is the one I have to play. Anyways, I got some wood for a farm project. How is that related? You'll see...
Day 39 (a1.0.17_03) See, fences placed underneath farmland makes the farmland UNTRAMPLEABLE. That's nice.
Day 40 (a1.0.17_04) Last a1.0.1x version! Grinding for wood sux.
Day 41 (a1.1.0-1, Seecret Friday 9) Compasses! I WANT A COMPASS. So I don't get lost ;) but i don't have redstone so i went mining for some. NO LUCK as always...
Day 42 (a1.1.0-2) Mining. No. Redstone. Or. Diamonds.
Day 43 (a1.1.1, Seecret Saturday) SNEAKIN' ROUND THE BLOCK, WOOHOO! Spent this legendary version just mining and found BEDROCK. I'll tell you that that wasn't there before. Still no redstone OR diamonds. FOUND A CAVE, THOUGH.
Day 44 (a1.1.2) idk what I did, I cooked pork I guess
Day 45 (a1.1.2_01) I mined out a bit of my face and gave a tour of the world to Pap. Last version with neon foliage.
Day 46 (a1.2.0, Halloween Update) Because this version added the Nether, I desperately tried to get diamonds so I could make a nether portal. Alas, no luck on that front.
Day 47 (a1.2.0_01) Continued mining until my pickaxes broke. After that, I hollowed out some more of my face. That's it?
Day 48 (a1.2.0_02) I tried making a rail way to the resource gathering area, but turns out that furnace minecarts are extremely finnicky. That project will have to wait until Beta 1.5...
Day 49 (a1.2.1_01) Turns out that Alpha 1.2.1 is the only lost Alpha 1.2 version. Go figure. Anyways, I started working on Mama's Mother's Day gift thing, and got ambushed by like a million mobs during the night. This is what I signed up for when switching to Hard mode, what did I expect?
Day 50 (a1.2.2-1) The ability to easily switch between texture packs was added in this version, replacing the ever-defunct "Play tutorial level" button. Also, nether portals with F4. I'm definitely going to use that once I figure out how it works. Update: figured out how the portals work, they seem to be random. I tried it in a test world then in my actual world and it worked! It was really cool in the Nether, but I just so happen to be underground. Ugh.
Day 51 (a1.2.2-2) Spent the day continuing working on the Mother's Day gift. I didn't die this time!
Day 52 (a1.2.3) Coordinates were added to the F3 menu, which is pretty nice. Now I CAN'T get lost! Anyways, I finished the Mother's Day gift and then died due to skelley boi. Man I need to mine... That will be a project for tomorrow.
Day 53 (a1.2.3_01-1) I didn't mine. Instead, I focused on ranged attacks and getting food and leather for armor.
Day 54 (a1.2.3_01-2) I continued to get resources from animals and ended up with a lot of pork chops and a leather shirt.
Day 55 (a1.2.3_02) Started a new mine so that I can get iron and diamonds faster. I found iron actually now!
Day 56 (a1.2.3_04) Turns out a1.2.3_03 doesn't exist. Weird, huh? Anyway, I finished digging down to y11 and am installing stairs.
Day 57 (a1.2.4, a1.2.3_05 in-game) Continued mining out my brand-new definitely not abandoned mineshaft. Got some of the unused rails and put them to good use!
Day 58 (a1.2.4_01) Went a little overtime huh? Well today was kinda uneventful, i mined, mined some more, and mined EVEN MORE. STILL no diamonds. I'm kinda losing hope...
Day 59 (a1.2.5) Only 1 alpha version left! Wow, time really did fly fast, huh? Anyway, I went and made a new room below the furnace room for storage, so that when I am in the beta versions I won't run out of storage. I also need wood.
Day 60 (a1.2.6) It's the LAST version of Alpha, and you know what I'm gonna do? Make an alpha shrine of course! I did the same for Infdev on day 12 if you remember. So yeah, that's what I'll do today. Update: I got killed by a zombie at the last second it COULD have. That sux
Day 61 (b1.0) Immediately, the Alpha shrine got blown up by a creeper instantly. And I died twice. It gets better, though. I continued working on the storage area and got things sorted out. However, there appears to be an inventory bug and that made my life waay harder. Still though, pretty productive day!
Day 62 (b1.0_01) The stupid chest bug was fixed! Yaay!

2024.05.14 13:15 PomegranateOk8835 BENEFITS OF USING FLUTTER IN YOUR MOBILE APP DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

With the rapid development of the digital landscape, mobile app development has emerged as a critical component of business strategy. With so many options available, it could be challenging to select the best framework for your project. Among the most widely used frameworks, the Flutter framework has established itself as a reliable and adaptable choice. webOdoctor, a Flutter app development company, is here to explain why Flutter ought to be your first choice when developing mobile apps.
WHAT IS FLUTTER ?
Google developed the open-source Flutter UI software development toolkit. It is used to create natively compiled desktop, web, and mobile applications from a single codebase. Flutter, which was released in 2017, has quickly become well-liked by developers and businesses due to its unique features and capabilities.
Benefits of Choosing Flutter
  1. One Codebase Across Several Platforms
Using a single codebase to develop applications for both iOS and Android is one of Flutter's biggest benefits. This shortens the time and expense of development, enabling companies to reach a larger audience without requiring specialized teams for every platform.
  1. Rapid Development with Continuous Reloading
Developers can see changes in real-time without having to restart the entire application thanks to Flutter's "hot reload" feature. This quickens the development process and facilitates the testing, bug fixes, and addition of new features.
  1. Rich and Customizable UI
With the help of Flutter's extensive collection of pre-designed widgets, developers can easily create aesthetically pleasing and highly customizable user interfaces. Widgets from Flutter can be customized to fit your specific requirements, whether you're looking for a more traditional design or a sleek, modern appearance.
  1. Excellent Output
Because Flutter apps are compiled straight to native ARM code, they run quickly on iOS and Android smartphones. Fast load times and fluid animations are the outcome, improving the user experience overall.
  1. Robust Community Assistance
Ever since its launch, Flutter has attracted a strong and vibrant community. This implies that a plethora of tools, such as comprehensive documentation, tutorials, and third-party packages, are at the developers' disposal to help them overcome obstacles and improve their apps.

6. Backed by Google

As a Google product, Flutter benefits from regular updates and improvements, ensuring it stays at the forefront of mobile app development technology. Google's commitment to Flutter underscores its reliability and future-proofing.

7. Future-Ready

Flutter is not just limited to mobile app development; it also supports web and desktop applications. This flexibility makes Flutter a future-ready framework, allowing businesses to expand their reach across different platforms without needing to rewrite the codebase.

2024.05.13 23:56 FozzTexx 2024 May 13 Stickied -FAQ- & -HELPDESK- thread - Boot problems? Power supply problems? Display problems? Networking problems? Need ideas? Get help with these and other questions!

Welcome to the raspberry_pi Helpdesk and Frequently Asked Questions!

Link to last week's thread
Having a hard time searching for answers to your Raspberry Pi questions? Let the raspberry_pi community members search for answers for you! Looking for help getting started with a project? Have a question that you need answered? Was it not answered last week? Did not get a satisfying answer? A question that you've only done basic research for? Maybe something you think everyone but you knows? Ask your question in the comments on this page, operators are standing by!
This helpdesk and idea thread is here so that the front page won't be filled with these same questions day in and day out:
  1. Q: What's a Raspberry Pi? What can I do with it? How powerful is it? A: Check out this great overview
  2. Q: Does anyone have any ideas for what I can do with my Pi? A: Sure, look right here!
  3. Q: My Pi is behaving strangely/crashing/freezing, giving low voltage warnings, ethernet/wifi stops working, USB devices don't behave correctly, what do I do? A: 99.999% of the time it's either a bad SD card or power problems. Use a USB power meter or measure the 5V on the GPIO pins with a multimeter while the Pi is busy (such as playing h265/x265 video) and/or get a new SD card 1 2 3. If the voltage is less than 5V your power supply and/or cabling is not adequate. When your Pi is doing lots of work it will draw more power. Even if your power supply claims to provide sufficient amperage, it may be mislabeled or the cable you're using to connect the power supply to the Pi may have too much resistance. You can use a USB load tester to test your power supply and cable. Some power supplies require negotiation to provide more than 500mA, which the Pi does not do. If you're plugging in USB devices try using a powered USB hub with its own power supply and plug your devices into the hub and plug the hub into the Pi.
  4. Q: I'm having a hard time finding a place to purchase a Raspberry Pi for an affordable price. Where's the secret place to buy one without paying more than MSRP? A: https://rpilocator.com/
  5. Q: I just did a fresh install with the latest Raspberry Pi OS and I keep getting errors when trying to ssh in, what could be wrong? A: There are only 4 things that could be the problem:
    1. The ssh daemon isn't running
    2. You're trying to ssh to the wrong host
    3. You're specifying the wrong username
    4. You're typing in the wrong password
  6. Q: I'm trying to install packages with pip but I keep getting error: externally-managed-environment A: This is not a problem unique to the Raspberry Pi. The best practice is to use a Python venv, however if you're sure you know what you're doing there are two alternatives documented in this stack overflow answer:
    • --break-system-packages
    • sudo rm a specific file as detailed in the stack overflow answer
  7. Q: The only way to troubleshoot my problem is using a multimeter but I don't have one. What can I do? A: Get a basic multimeter, they are not expensive.
  8. Q: My Pi won't boot, how do I fix it? A: Step by step guide for boot problems
  9. Q: I want to watch Netflix/Hulu/Amazon/Vudu/Disney+ on a Pi but the tutorial I followed didn't work, does someone have a working tutorial? A: Use a Fire Stick/AppleTV/Roku. Pi tutorials used tricks that no longer work or are fake click bait.
  10. Q: What model of Raspberry Pi do I need so I can watch YouTube in a browser? A: No model of Raspberry Pi is capable of watching YouTube smoothly through a web browser, you need to use VLC.
  11. Q: I want to know how to do a thing, not have a blog/tutorial/video/teachebook explain how to do a thing. Can someone explain to me how to do that thing? A: Uh... What?
  12. Q: Is it possible to use a single Raspberry Pi to do multiple things? Can a Raspberry Pi run Pi-hole and something else at the same time? A: YES. Pi-hole uses almost no resources. You can run Pi-hole at the same time on a Pi running Minecraft which is one of the biggest resource hogs. The Pi is capable of multitasking and can run more than one program and service at the same time. (Also known as "workload consolidation" by Intel people.) You're not going to damage your Pi by running too many things at once, so try running all your programs before worrying about needing more processing power or multiple Pis.
  13. Q: Why is transferring things to from disks/SSDs/LAN/internet so slow? A: If you have a Pi 4 or 5 with SSD, please check this post on the Pi forums. Otherwise it's a networking problem and/or disk & filesystem problem, please go to HomeNetworking or LinuxQuestions.
  14. Q: I only have one outlet and I need to plug in several devices, what do I do? A: They make things called power strips aka multi-tap extensions.
  15. Q: The red and green LEDs are on/off/blinking or the screen is just black or blank or saying no signal, what do I do? A: Start here
  16. Q: I'm trying to run x86 software on my Raspberry Pi but it doesn't work, how do I fix it? A: Get an x86 computer. A Raspberry Pi is ARM based, not x86.
  17. Q: How can I run a script at boot/cron or why isn't the script I'm trying to run at boot/cron working? A: Try one of these numerous solutions
  18. Q: Can I use this screen that came from ____ ? A: No
  19. Q: I run my Pi headless and there's a problem with my Pi and the best way to diagnose it or fix it is to plug in a monitor & keyboard, what do I do? A: Plug in a monitor & keyboard.
  20. Q: My Pi seems to be causing interference preventing the WiFi/Bluetooth from working A. Using USB 3 cables that are not properly shielded can cause interference and the Pi 4 can also cause interference when HDMI is used at high resolutions.
  21. Q: I'm trying to use the built-in composite video output that is available on the Pi 2/3/4 headphone jack, do I need a special cable? A. Make sure your cable is wired correctly and you are using the correct RCA plug. Composite video cables for mp3 players will not work, the common ground goes to the wrong pin. Camcorder cables will often work, but red and yellow will be swapped on the Raspberry Pi.
  22. Q: I'm running my Pi with no monitor connected, how can I use VNC? A: First, do you really need a remote GUI? Try using ssh instead. If you're sure you want to access the GUI remotely then ssh in, type vncserver -depth 24 -geometry 1920x1080 and see what port it prints such as :1, :2, etc. Now connect your client to that.
  23. Q: I want to do something that has been well documented and there are numerous tutorials showing how to do it on Linux. How can I do it on a Raspberry Pi? A: A Raspberry Pi is a full computer running Linux and doesn't use special stripped down embedded microcontroller versions of standard Linux software. Follow one of the tutorials for doing it on Linux. Also see question #1.
  24. Q: I want to do something that has been well documented and there are numerous tutorials showing how to do it with an Arduino. How can I do it on a Raspberry Pi Pico? A: Follow one of the tutorials for doing it on Arduino, a Pico can be used with the Arduino IDE.
  25. Q: I'm trying to do something with Bluetooth and it's not working, how do I fix it? A: It's well established that Bluetooth and Linux don't get along, this problem is not unique to the Raspberry Pi.
Before posting your question think about if it's really about the Raspberry Pi or not. If you were using a Raspberry Pi to display recipes, do you really think raspberry_pi is the place to ask for cooking help? There may be better places to ask your question, such as:
Asking in a forum more specific to your question will likely get better answers!
See the /raspberry_pi rules. While /raspberry_pi should not be considered your personal search engine, some exceptions will be made in this help thread. ‡ If the link doesn't work it's because you're using a broken buggy mobile client. Please contact the developer of your mobile client and let them know they should fix their bug. In the meantime use a web browser in desktop mode instead.
