I'm a Bisakol. My dad is Bicolano while my mom is Bisaya and born from a country wherein that's their mother tongue. We currently reside in Bicol.
Nakakalungkot lang isipin na perhaps because of how much discrimination my mom faces at her work or social media, napaka-negative na rin ng mindset niya towards Bikolano.
Not long ago, we had an event in school for the homelesss children around our area. I wanted to donate most of clothes kasi maliban sa 'di na kasya sa closet ko, hindi ko rin naman nasusuot kasi karamihan since bata pa ako. I asked my mom for permission pero she just got angry at me. Sabi niya papayagan niya lang daw ako if yung mga hikahos talaga bibigyan, hindi mga Bikolano na "tamad and pala-asa". Taena, inis na inis ako that time pero hindi ako nakipag-argue sa kanya. I did tell her though na "Ang sama pakinggan ng salita mo ma". I could have formulated a more well-thought sentence to raise awareness against her words and belief pero yun unang pumasok sa utak ko. It's not like she's not aware what's wrong with her mindset since matanda na siya.
Personally, a lot of my classmates tends to poke fun at mga Bisaya. Not only in social media but also in person. I just laugh along with them since no one knows I belong in a household where we speak Bisaya. Ang uncomfy sa part ko everytime they joke about Bisaya people. I can't tell them what's wrong with it kasi last time I did, everyone looked at me like I was the one who's in the wrong for ruining the joyous atmosphere. There was this time kasi where my classmates were making fun of a problematic classmate of ours and they said something in the line na hindi na raw nakakagulat kasi Bisaya raw siya. Besides, mga college students na kami, alam na rin nila ang boundary between humor and disrespect.
During the first semester, nagk-kwento pa ako when an opportunity arises to tell some of my cm na may Bisaya blood ako. Fashionably-challenged kasi akong tao so I can't help but overthink if they ever think of me in a way na "Jejemon, Bai na Bai pormahan."
As a child, pinagmamalaki ko before na Bisaya ako at Bicolano. It's such a shame that as I grew up, sumabay na rin ang paglaki ng shame ko since I realized that a lot of Tagalog finds us dumb, baduy, and so on. Vice versa din naman. Depende nalang ata kung saan ka nakatira.

Based on my experience, doing multisyllabic rhymes can be challenging but it gives something new in writing Tagalog poetry.
When it comes to rhyming, especially multisyllabic rhyming, perfect rhymes (ex. tapákan and sapákan) is not necessary. What matters is that vowels, stressed syllables, and rhythm match. Plus points if the final consonant sounds similar (b-k-d-g-p-t, l-m-n-ng)
Examples:
Tag-inít and tagilíd. Both have the same vowels, stressed last syllable, and similar sounding final consonant but the rhythm is different. Rhythm will be the same only if tag-init is pronounced fast like “taginít” (slant rhyming?). Tag-inít and pandikít rolls off the tongue better in normal pronunciation.
Binatà and minána. Both have the same vowels, stressed second syllable and rhythm. But the very last part, after the final a, does not sound similar. Binatà and hinátak rolls off the tongue better.
What is happening here? It is because aside from the usual consonants sounds we learned in Filipino, there is another consonant sound that is used in Tagalog and other Philippine languages. The sound is so common yet there is no letter used to explicitly represent it in the Philippines. It is called the glottal stop or paimpit na tunog (IPA: ʔ)
