My TV does not turn on either with the power button on the screen or with the remote control, I tried to update the firmware of my Android TV and everything was fine until it finished, some Arabic letters were added and now it no longer turns on in any way, does anyone know? What can I do to solve it? The motherboard model is cv960xh-a50 I would really appreciate it if anyone can help me, thank you very much for reading me.

i grew up in the gulf, and my family just never thought to teach me malayalam. it’s always been a slight bother to me because i can’t even speak my native tongue, but everyone around me could. whether it was arabic, hindi, spanish, whatever. but everyone also spoke english so whatever ig? well now i’m studying here in kochi and i’m having the worst time of my life. my malayalam is incredibly limited, barely conversational, and that’s not counting the very western accent i have. im a social person, but now i can’t even speak to anybody in my class because i can’t even SPEAK. im lowkey so bitter my parents know malayalam, hindi, urdu, tamil, AND EVEN ARABIC. while i’m sitting here with only english and those french classes i had in school

edit: hi! thank you for the encouragement and some recs. i just wanted to add on about the movies and shows. my parents did raise me to watch every mallu things back then. culture wise i was surrounded. saw all the tv shows, movies, music, and some functions. it was somehow specifically only the language we missed. i didn’t go to an indian school, which would teach the language itself. but my parents did, and that’s why they know the malayalam that they do. ig they just never knew how, nor thought it was necessary to go out of their way to teach. we were all really busy back then. anyways, i’ll look into some books and channels as you guys have mentioned. One of the biggest debates in the I/P conflict, especially when it comes to the English-speaking world, is the argument Israel is illegitimate since it's an "ethnostate", and Zionism is illegitimate since it's "ethno-nationalism". I feel that a lot of it comes from misunderstanding of the basic terms, that are being utilized, dishonestly, to confuse people from countries such as the US or Canada. The result is that both Zionists and Palestinians aren't really talking on the same wavelength as the Americans, Canadians and Australians they're trying to engage with. I'd like to add my modest contribution to understanding these terms, or at least starting a more accurate conversation about them.

The basic terms

Nationalism, in the sense I'm using here, isn't an extreme or exclusionary form of patriotism. It's merely the idea that a certain nation-state should exist. People who want Ukraine to exist are Ukrainian nationalists. People who want a Palestinian state to exist are Palestinian nationalists. People who want a Jewish state to exist, are Zionists.
Hebrew, incidentally, has two separate words for "nationalism": the "bad", chauvinistic kind, Leumanut, and the "good", or at least neutral nation-building kind, Leumiyut. It's not some right-wing double-speak either. Even anti-Zionist Israeli communists say things like "I oppose Leumanut, not Leumiyut". English, and as far as I know, other languages, don't have that distinction, which I feel leads to a lot of confusion. But to be clear, I'm talking about Leumiyut, the idea that a nation-state should exist, not Leumanut, the idea a specific nation-state is superior, worth dying for, or even generally nice.
Ethnic nationalism is the idea to create and maintain a state that's defined by a specific ethnic group, that existed before the state, and will continue to exist if the state is dissolved. Germans, Armenians and Greeks existed for thousands of years. The states of Germany, Armenia and Greece did not.
Most of the states in Europe, and most notably in Central and Eastern Europe, are ethnic nationalist states, defined by a specific, ancient ethnic group. Which occasionally immigration policies that favor members of that ethnicity, even if they never had anything to do with the modern state.
Civic nationalism is the opposite of that idea, a state whose nation is defined by the state, and not the other way around. The actual discourse on civic nationalism vs. ethnic nationalism is more complex and nuanced, but as a rule of thumb, I'd say that ethnic nationalism is when the people exists before the state, and civic nationalism is when the state exists before the people. An American or French person is purely a citizen of America or France. A German could be German without having a single ancestor who ever set foot in the modern state of Germany, let alone had a citizenship from that state. Civic nationalism is the form of nationalism that's ubiquitous in the New World colonies, like the US, Canada, Australia, and so on.
Ethnostate is, as far as I can tell, a Neo-Nazi term, generally associated with the term "white ethnostate". That doesn't really exist until the 1980's, and only explodes in popularity around the mid 2010's, with the rise of the alt-right, and the straight-up White Nationalist book "The Ethnostate". The basic gist of the "ethnostate", is a state where only a specific ethnicity has any rights at all. And better yet, only a single ethnicity, full stop. Israel, with its large, 20% non-Jewish minority, doesn't qualify.
Ethnocracy is a separate term, invented by the Israeli leftist Oren Yiftachel to describe how Israel isn't really a normal democracy. Further research into the term, lead to the conclusion that other states, including NATO members Estonia, Latvia and Turkey (officially a civic nation-state), are "ethnocracies as well".

The debate

There's a legitimate discussion to be had, between ethnic nationalism and civic nationalism. And people from civic nationalist states tend to think their form of nationalism is superior. But it's important to note that both kinds of states exist today, in the democratic, Western world. The breakdown of the civic nationalist USSR, and the creation of ethnic nationalist states of Estonia, Latvia, Armenia, Georgia and so on, is generally considered a good thing, even within ideologically civic nationalist states like the US. And even states that the US don't particularily like, like Syria, aren't considered ethno-nationalist abominations for being an official "Arab Republic". Germany, even after the Holocaust, was allowed to remain an ethnic nationalist state, and have an immigration policy that would make easier for ethnic Germans, that never had a German citizenship, to flee to it. While there's a debate between ethnic nationalism and civic nationalism, both types of nationalism are generally considered legitimate, even desirable.
Most importantly, within the context of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, is that Palestinian nationalism is a clear ethnic nationalism. And a far more exclusionary, xenophobic form of ethnic nationalism than Zionism. The Palestinian National Charter uses Palestinian Arab and Palestinian interchangeably, while the proposed Palestinian constitution defines Palestinians as being part of the Arab nation. While Zionism, from the very beginning, assumed it would have a meaningful non-Jewish minority, Palestinian nationalism doesn't even seem to consider the idea of non-Arabs being Palestinians. In fact, the only reason why a small portion of Jews would be allowed to be Palestinians, is because according to the Palestinian National Charter, Jews are not a legitimate nation at all, and therefore could be Arabs as well.
Even after the Nakba, Israel has a 20% non-Jewish minority, and openly calling to expel all of them is considered beyond the pale (and possibly illegal) for even the far-right MKs. While even moderate two-stater Palestinians demand every Jew to be expelled from the State of Palestine, for it to be "free". Needless to say, the Palestinians have no intention of making Hebrew an official minority language, forcing their government to issue official communications in Hebrew, having special Hebrew-language schools and state TV channel, to cater to their hopefully non-existent Jewish minority. There's a reason why the most common Arabic version of "from the river to the sea" is "from the water to the water, Palestine will be Arab". There's a reason why Palestinians support the idea of a civic nationalist Palestine even less than the Israeli Jews do, with around 5%-8% thinking it's the best solution for the conflict.
If you're opposing Zionism because it's ethnic nationalist, and support Palestinian nationalism, you're either being ignorant, hypocritical, or actively trying to deceive. If you proudly fly the Palestinian Arab flag, support or make excuses for hardcore ethno-nationalist Palestinian Arab organizations and individuals, and argue that the Jews don't deserve a state in the Levant, because unlike the Arabs they're "European colonialists", you can't claim you're against ethnic nationalism. If you exclusively talk about the one Jewish state, and never against the existence of any other ethnic nation-states, you can't claim you're against all ethnic nationalism. The entire argument against Zionism as ethnic nationalism, in my opinion, is mostly an argument meant to deceive people in civic nationalist states in the US, to support one ethnic nationalist movement over another, not a serious pro-Palestinian argument.
As for "ethnostate", even if we ignore the fact Israel isn't an actual "ethnostate" by definition, it's interesting to note how not a single ethnic nationalist state except for Israel is ever denounced as an "ethnostate". Even those that are actively discriminatory against their ethnic minorities, committed a genocide against them (like Iraq did with the Kurds), or simply expelled them (as the Arabs state did with their Jews). "Ethnostate" either refers to the Neo-Nazi dream scenario, or Israel. I'd also like to caution pro-Israelis from arguing that Israel is an "ethnostate" and that "ethnostates" are good. "Ethnostate" is a Neo-Nazi term, and the point of calling Israel an "ethnostate" is to equate Zionism with White Nationalism, not as a legitimate discussion of ethnic vs. civic nationalism.
"Ethnocracy" is a little more complicated. As I pointed out, it's a term invented specifically to describe Israel, so obviously it fits Israel - at least in the eyes of the leftists who invented it. But if you're opposed to Israel's existence because of its "ethnocratic" nature, you certainly need to debate the Estonian, Latvian, Turkish or Malaysia ethnocracy as well. Like with the opposition to all ethnic nationalism, you can't keep obsessing exclusively about the Jewish state, and claim this is some principled opposition to all ethnocracies.
Ultimately, I feel it's best if we stop pretending that the I/P conflict is anything but the conflict between two ethnic nationalist movements. With civic nationalism as a third solution, that's goes against both nationalist movements (or at least their overwhelming non-Communist mainstream), and is deeply unpopular among both nations. And if we insist on having the ethnic nationalist vs. civic nationalist debate, we can't pretend Israel is the only ethnic nationalist state, and that ethnic nationalism has been otherwise repudiated and eradicated. And there's no reason to use inflammatory terms like "ethnocracy" or "ethnostate", over "ethnic nationalism" vs. "civic nationalism".

Acquiring a language happens in the subconscious from immersion, while learning is just knowing the rules and individual words. Communicating without wasting time in thinking about grammar requires instant responses. I learnt French in college for 4 years getting vocabulary and grammar etc. Yet when I went to Paris, I was unable to have any proper conversation. In 1990 Ukraine, I had to speak Russian it was a matter of survival, I managed with the help of a guide book. then progressed to a level higher than my French language - I picked up words from the Ukraine streets, trains, TV and hearing others' conversations. I still remember each word and have used them. Mastering Arabic requires subconscious acquisition not deliberate learning. Arabic people, people of Arabic television or Arabic DVDs, people who observe or follow the news of the world of official dubbing in the Arabic language. Please, tell me, whoever is a witness: I suppose, that the Arabic dubs that appeared on Netflix in 2020 are the very first ones for Totoro, Kiki, Spirited Away, Howl's Castle, Ponyo, and fricking Princess Mononoke (despite its violence and probably using the word "ilahun" for the forest spirit character). Didn't you, Arabs, get an official Arabic dub for these Ghibli movies before Netflix? If not, why? I know that you had at least Heidi 1974 and Conan the future boy with Isao Takahata's and Hayao Miyazaki's participation. But why no Castle in the Sky, Whisper of the Heart? Is it because of censorship?
Like, maybe, censors disliked

1. The way Muska mentioned Sodom and Gomorra; the way Sheeta's states something like "there is no life without earth"; the way the movie romanticizes the pirate lifestyle (but Arabic TV had official Arabic dub of first hundred episodes of One Piece).
2. Probably, because Miyazaki himself was not satisfied enough with the film adaptation of Nausicaa. Or this movie is too old-fashioned to dub. Or Nausicaa looked too much like a "prophet" or something like it. Or because the movie is too "depressive" and "dark" considering the "post-apocalypsis", so, maybe, "many people died off-screen".
3. The Whisper of Heart has egoistical unrequited love, where Shizuku rejects Sugimura so we don't care about Shizuku/Seiji ship as it's not cute so much after the reject, also Yuko's reject of the love letter guy who is Sugimura's friend.
4. The Wind Rises simply contains so much smoking which is harmful for health. But the witch from Howl's Castle also smoked, if I'm not mistaken.

In Turkey television, the TRT Çocuk channel broadcasted Turkish official dub of the Ghibli films in ~2010, if I'm not mistaken.

So Taran the person who does a really good job of analyzing and breaking the clues from FROM with a lot of documentation to back up his theory.
So he believes that John Cabot and some witches and demons are the cause and the reason why everyone is stuck there while some kind of Tarot Card game is being played.
My issue with that is John Cabot did explore in what is now known as NORTH AMERICA but really more along Canada and New Foundland. John Cabot didn't explore what is now called America/USA that we know now.
So for a series that supposedly takes place in the Midwest and there is a tattered American Flag waving in town, all the people who are trapped there are Americans and have come from all parts of America denoted the the map in Boyd's office and all the vehicles have American license plates. So it's safe to say that the series has established that possibility to be true.
I'm not seeing how John Cabot fits in with a very heavily centralized series in the Midwest of the USA. Cabot really isn't too much of a household name in the U.S. But I could be wrong and Taran does make a very appealing case to his theory being correct in some way if not all the way spot on.
But here's the kicker. The series is called Origins in markets outside of the United States. He Equated that the Cabot storyline is the "Origins" they mean in what is going with the Witches, Demons, Tarot Carda etc. I believe he said Cabot and companion Richard Amerike (who some believe America is actually named after him and not Amerigo Vespucci who was more commonly credited with being the "Origin" of America's naming). So take the nane America and use it how every you want to.
But this is now where my "Theory" comes into play. FROM is very heavily full of Biblical and Religious undertones. And I have talked about all the ones I could identify in depth before.
So I believe the overseas series name isn't about exploration but the "Origins" alluded to is the Book of Genesis. You know the one we all learned in Sunday School that says, "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." The word "Origins" is another synonym for "Genesis'.
So now I'm convinced that the "Fallen Tree" that once you come across it and you're now stuck in FROMVILLE is actually the Apple Tree from the story about the "Origins" of "Adam and Eve" in the book of Genesis.
One big clue for me is the painting in Ellis and Fatima's room. It kind of mirrors the "Adam and Eve" story with the tire tracks wrapping around the painting looking like a "Snake's tail and even some kind of "Serpent " looking monster. We all know how Eve's defying the 1 rule God had about not eating from the Tree of Life was FORBIDDEN and was the start of the "Fall of man".
Father Khatri told Boyd there were "No Bibles in town" and that seemed odd. He also alluded to Book 74 as us still writing our next chapter in the Bible.
So I thought at first there's no Bibles in town because either someone/something has them trapped in town and that Demonic Force wouldn't have the Holiest Book of all time just lying around all Willy Nilly. But now I believe that there aren't any Bibles because the TOWN and People and Monsters aren't done writing their story so you wouldn't publish a book that was still being written? No, you would wait till it's complete. FROMVILLE is still actively writing it.
Also, just the names of some of the town folks are so heavy on a "Religious" Origin is too funny. A couple of examples:
Boyd was called Mr. FISH AND LOAVES by his wife Abby. I mean some people seem to think it's because Boyd usually finds away to "make things work out". He can turn an impossible situation into one that is possible. Maybe but I still think it's more directly about one of the miracles Jesus performed in his lifetime.
Abby/Abbey is Boyd's wife. The word Abby/Abbey literally means/refers to a Church or Monastery or a House of Worship.
Ellis: Ellis is Boyd's son. The name Ellis literally means:
In English Baby Names the meaning of the name Ellis is: My God is Jehovah. From a surname derived from a medievalfrom Elijah.
In Greek Baby Names the meaning of the name Ellis is: The Greek form of the Hebrew Elijah, meaning Jehovah is God.
In Hebrew Baby Names the meaning of the name Ellis is: The Lord is my God.
In American Baby Names the meaning of the name Ellis is: The Lord is my God.
Fatima means: "Fatima is a feminine name of Arabic origin, meaning "daughter of the Prophet" and "to abstain" or “to wean.” Fatima was one of the four perfect women and was the only child of Muhammed to bear children. Fatima is often considered the Muslim equivalent of Christianity's Virgin Mary."
Fatima didn't believe she could get pregnant but now she is. Is it because it's a miracle like when Mary, mother of Jesus had a Virgin Birth (the series has shown us that Fatima doesn't seem to be a "Virgin" but never less her pregnancy was an unexpected surprise. Also, Fatima means to "Wean" which is introducing a baby to food and nourishment. I think that's a lot of coincidences of having something to do a baby or child for a character that couldn't get pregnant before but is now.
These are just a few and I have a lot more in depth and detailed theories in other posts about Kristi, Mari, Jade, Donna, Father Khatri and others with some kind of Biblical/Religious connection.
But in short: The non American tv and streaming services that air the show is under the title "Origins" and not FROM.
I believe the series has a Biblical and Religious setting and vibe with the tree in the middle of the road that traps you in FROMVILLE being the actually "Tree of Life" "FROM" the Garden of Eden in the Bibles "ORIGIN" story found in the Book of GENESIS that Eve (or maybe Fatima represents Lilith who is also considered "The Mother of all Monsters" when she rejected Adam and was banished from the Garden of Eden? But that's another story and post of mine somewhere in this sub).
Anyway I could spend the rest of this rainy Saturday afternoon in Michigan posting potential theories/speculation but unfortunately I don't have the time and my other Theories Threads are easy to find.
So just my .02 cents on what I think is going on.

Pardon me if the wording is bad. I wrote and rewrote this like 100 times and never quite made it able to make sense. This is essentially just word vomiting shit.
I am starting to piece together how my shit childhood turned me into a shit person as most of my bad behaviors are reactions to this shit, and my god did my childhood suck.
My dad was an Iran-Iraq war veteran on the side of Iraq. Due to the things he saw and experienced, he became super disillusioned with life there. He found himself in some hot water when he talked about god not existing, but later found a woman who was also losing her faith and they came to America in the 80s.
He got into real estate and made a pretty penny. He and his wife agreed they didn't want kids, but then in 1995 I was born. So what is being raised by Arab atheists like? I'll give you an idea, BAD!
I've seen a lot of people talk about this like fake, controlling love people got from their parents and I never got that. I got raw dogged with hatred at every possible second. My parents NEVER missed a chance to tell me how much I ruined their childless life, how embarrassed I made them, how stupid I was, how I was never going to amount to anything, how they were obligated to care for me due to the law, and how I shouldn't exist. My very BEING is a burden to them. My dad was, and I think still is, like a millionaire due to real estate. They went on vacation like once a year, but never took me. They'd usually have a babysitter look after me, but stopped doing that after I turned 13 and said I could babysit myself.
Also, being as they were atheists, I never once had a period of magical thinking of childhood innocence. I never believed in santa, the easter bunny, the tooth fairy, god, or shit like that. I even remember being in school and making kids cry and getting into trouble for telling like 6 year olds there is no santa. I also remember getting into trouble AGAIN in middle school for making a kid cry by saying there is no god and no afterlife.
For the longest fucking time I thought shit like parents hugging or cuddling you, reading bed time stories, or eating meals together was just a thing that happened on TV. When I found out that was a thing that happened it made my chest sink. To realize just how fucked over you got. How different things could have been had my parents liked me. I guess at least I never got grounded or shit taken from me because their main method of punishing me was yelling at me, hitting me, or usually both. I fucking HATE the sound of opening doors because I think my mom or dad are coming to beat my ass.
Oh yeah, how about we deal with the elephant in the room? I'm an Arab. I grew up in Texas, do you know what being an ARAB after 2001 was like? Part of the reason I never made friends was just fucking 9/11. I remember almost making a friend when I was like 7 and his mom dragged him away from me when I told her my arabic name. The amount of times I got called "suicide bomber" or "school shooter" or "terrorist" growing up just made me hate everything. Really reminds you of how much you stick out.
But now how about the Atheist thing? I did meet other Arabs from time to time, but they all assumed I was a muslim. When I told them I didn't believe in god they got weirded out by me and then avoided me. So you know what this did? It made me feel like all the details about me as a person just lead me to get fucked over. White people hated me because I'm an Arab but all the Arabs I met hated me because I'm not a muslim.
I also just got straight up hated by my teachers. Yeah, we don't give them enough credit, but they can be good bullies too. One of my worst memories regarding teacher is when I had to write a book report about some book called Cracker which was about a dog in vietnam or something. When the teacher read my shit, she held it up in front of the class and called me stupid. Saying this is how NOT to do media analysis and straight up told the other kids to laugh at me. No really, I am not kidding. She told them to laugh at me for how stupid I am. Being 13 was rough, man.
Something similar happened to me in high school when we had to write a book report about The Illustrated Man, good book btw, and I was given an assignment. We had to write about The Long Rain and I wrote about it. When we came up to get our shit, the teacher straight up said loudly to the entire class I got an F. He then said to the entire class, "Don't be like her." So whenever I think of that whole media analysis shit and how much it bothers me, I think of them. How I got publicly shamed twice for daring to think of media in a particular way.
I should also note at this point that I have PCOS, so I have more testosterone than the average woman. Never had a period. Guess what, now I feel like I can't really relate to women. I even remember after my diagnosis, my dad mocked me and said that I was not really a woman or a man now. Thanks dad. I also wound up a lot taller and beefier than other women. Boys in high school were often scared of me because I'm like 6'0.
There was this one time a boy asked me on a date. He was cute and said he liked how tall and powerful I looked. It was one of the nicest things I ever heard. He said he wanted to spend time with me by the creek. I went with him and when I got there, he pantsed me and a group of his friends came out and I was pushed into the creek. They all stood around and laughed at me. The guy then said, "You think anyone would like a weird girl like you?" And yeah. That shit also made me paranoid to even try to love. I never downloaded any dating apps, because I worried I'd go on a date with a guy and it would be a trap like that.
All of this just led to me feeling like a fucking burden. That the best I can hope for is to NOT be seen. If my parents saw me, I'm getting mocked or yelled at. I once told my mother I was depressed and feel worthless, to which she told me to maybe consider killing myself. I remember another moment akin to this happened. I came home from school one day and there was this scene on the TV of a man pressing a gun to his chin. My mom then looked at me and told me if I was ever going to kill myself to put the gun in my mouth because sometimes people who press the gun to their chin can survive it, but eating your gun guarantees you'll die.
Fuck. Yeah, dunno. It just makes me feel like I am not supposed to be here. These were the moments people saw me. In truth, like 90% of my time was spent alone. I think back to it and so much of my time was just me wandering town aimlessly. I walked a lot and far! One time, I literally spent 6 hours just walking. Again, by myself. My parents didn't care if I never came home. How do I know? They told me. I did consider running away a few times, but never mustered up the gall to do it. Being alone and lonely is just the status quo for me. You're either invisible or you're a BOTHER! Be invisible. It hurts, but it's better than being seen.
I guess the last thing I wanna say is TV fucked my head too. TV tells you that jerks and assholes have a hidden heart of gold. You see terrible characters secretly turned out to care all along. I guess I assumed that about my parents. They're traumatized Iraqis, so they're just hurt! One day, they'll show you their hidden heart of gold. It's sucks but that's not true. A lot of time awful people are just awful all the way. And fuck man, to this day I still think it. How often I assume I can "know someone's suffering," but what does that mean? Your feelings are valid, but your behavior isn't. My mother and father's trauma of the Iran-Iraq war is valid. Them spending 18 fucking years tormenting me? Not valid.

TL;DR: my parents hit me and now I'm a 28 year old femcel who can't get a boyfriend.

I saw a movie on TV during the 90s or early 2000s that had a distinctive style. It was mostly blues and purples. The drawing style was unique too, but I don't know enough to be able to describe it. The setting is either ancient or medieval Asia, specifically a place with Arabic, Persian, Indian, or Mughal influences based on the Aladdin-esque fashions.
From what I remember of the plot, a boy/man returns home after being away for a long time. I don't recall what the reason for his absence was. While he was gone, the woman he was in love with was forced to marry someone else. This someone else was wealthy. Either a wealthy merchant, or a prince or sultan. Not wanting to deal with the pain of beinv martied to someone she didnt love or perhaps actively hated, the female main character removed her heart which glowed golden and put it into a jar or vase set to be transported via trademerchant caravan or ship. After the male lead character returned, she told him this but it was too late to retrieve her heart and so she began to fade away into nothing.
Now I don't know if that was the ending of the movie or part way through.

I am starting learning arabic. I have learned a few languages before and can already read arabic lettering, just need a vocab deck.
My methodology for languages is to grind anki decks and then immerse via tv shows/movies to pick up on grammaconversation. What works best for this is frequency decks.
