I was randomly reviewing Archuleta Mesa (Dulce) and Area 51 on Google Maps. And I found it very interesting that these two locations are almost exactly 500 miles apart in a STRAIGHT LINE (see pic attached). These are both known as deep underground military bases, with large rail/train systems below the surface, that supposedly extend out for miles. I think it's kind of odd/amazing that all you have to do is draw a straight line on a map to see that these two are connected or aligned with each other. I guess this would give some credence to the idea of a vast underground rail system. However, supposedly it was built using ET tech, and a straight line seems super easy for that :) NOTE: The Area 51 dot on the map is a bit north but Area 51 is a large place. The line basically connects Archuleta Mesa (Dulce Base) with Papoose Mountain and the area near S4 at Area 51.

Would you like to attack with 3000 4000+% bonus? It is possible. You can regularly have 1000+%, and around 400-500% in worst case scenarios.
Let’s get into details!
There are kind 9 10 categories of multiplicative bonuses in land battle. For attack, these are maxed as the follows.

1. Terrain max 15% (modified by unit specific bonuses and the traits of the commander).
2. Terrain features ie. rivers max 48,16 52,1% (yes, as +52,1 modified by template and the traits of the commander).
3. Experience max 75%
4. Air support max 37,5% (modified by air doctrine and the number of CAS in the battle).
5. Intel advantage max 15%.
6. Commander skill max ~57% (modified by the template, the skill and the traits of the commander, ~20,77% from traits)
7. Country max ~64,9% (modified by the template, the military advisors and chief of staff).
8. Planning bonus max 100 ~125% (modified by doctrine, the skill and the traits of the commander, 30% from doctrine, +25% from France's national spirit, thanks @ Jejo1443).
9. Tactics max 45% (available tactics depending on doctrine).
10. Commander ability bonus max 25% (upgraded force attack for China; otherwise 20%)

The ideal maximum available for everyone is 1,15*1,521*1,75*1,375*1,15*1,57*1,649*2*1,45*1,2=43,6078 thus a +4260,78% bonus (for France 4774,64%, for China 4413,55%, FIN or SOV could be even higher).
This requires a mechanized marine division with full air support attacking across a river in a desert. They must be led by a field marshal and a general, who both have both have 10 attack and 10 planning skill, panzer leader, cavalry leader, enginieer, improvisation expert and desert fox traits. The field marshal also has to have offensive doctrine and one of the commanders has to use makeshift bridges ability. More than half of the bonus comes from the right army command (advisors, chief of army, land and air doctrine). The final touch is seize bridge/hold bridge tactics.
This is of course rare, but the the right choices carry over much of their merits in less ideal scenarios. Let’s look at

1. the template,
2. the trait choices,
3. at the doctrines!

1. The best lategame attacker template in 2024 is mechanised marines, period. The reason is a) +35% special forces bonus, b) 50-70% river crossing bonus and c) the usual benefis from hardness and armour, in that order.
1a) Both amtracs and amphibious medium tanks are considered special forces, so they get multiple bonuses, which can reach +50% attack, compared to a mere +15% from an armoucombined arms genius advisor. The difference comes form +15% with a commando genius advisor, +10% from the marine special forces doctrine „blowtorch and corkscrew and finally +10% form another special forces doctrine which could be either „shared instructors” mountaineer or „backbone of the armed forces” paratrooper doctrine.
These are all displayed in combat as a country bonus, additive between themselves and multiplicative with other bonuses. Country bonus is maximised by the +15% from army attack genius advisor.
1b) River crossing is usually comes with a hefty malus: -30% attack/breakthrough for small rivers and -60% for large ones. Surprisingly tough it can turn into a bonus, as Amphibious Armor gets +40% and Amphibious Mechanised gets 30%. In theory, a purely amtrac division negates the smaller penalty, as +30% negates -30%, and a division containing amphibious medium tanks overcomes it, as the weighted average goes above +30%. My template is 8 amtrac, 6 amphibious medium tanks and 1 amphibious heavy tank (playing the role of tank destroyer) a weighted average of [(8*30)+(7*40)]/15 = 34,66%. Add engineers for +10% a medium flame tanks for another +10% resulting in 54,66%. Whith a large river crossing malus they suffer -60% + 54,66% = 5,34% penalty and they cross small rivers at a flat -30 + 54,66 = 24,66% bonus. Add engineer trait on their general for +5% and on their field marshal for +2,5%.
This comes to 62,16%, meaning that you can cross even large rivers at a slight 2,16% advantage and crush the enemy who tries to hide behind a stream. From time to time you can use the “makeshift bridges” ability granted by the improvisation expert general trait for +20%, resulting in the maximum bonus which is -30% + 82,16% = 52,16%.
1c) Hardness is king, even more important then armour, because that can be potentially anywhere between OP or nullified by piercing. My 72% hardness on the other hand always negates 72% of enemy soft attacks, making typical leg infantry irrelevant.
2. The commander traits to maximise the benefits are panzer leader and cavalry leader. For attacking field marshal offensive doctrine is a must. Improvisation expert is solid as well, terrain traits and engineer follow in that order.
Panzer leader is the most important: +16% is the highest of all possible bonuses and nearly half of the template benefits from it. The weighted average is [(6 tank + 1 heavy tank)/15 units] x 16% = 7,466%. Note that this is almost equal to +3 in the general’s attack skill. If the field marshal also has the trait, his bonus applies to the subordinate armies with half weight ie. 3,733% for a total of ~11,2%. Panzer leader is also the easiest to grind – the panzer commander personality trait gives extra xp and is also desirable because it makes more likely to gain attack and planning skill on levelling up.
Cavalry leader is second as +12% is the second highest of all bonuses and more then half of the template benefits from it. The weighted average is [(8 amtrac)/15 units] x 12% = 6,4%. With the same field marshal trait applied at half weight we get another 9,6%.
These are all displayed in combat as a commander bonus, additive between themselves: the max ~57% comes from 11,2% (panzer leader) + 9,6% (cavalry leader) + 25% (attack level 10 on the general) + 11, 25% (attack level 10 on the field marshal). Edit: skill levels can reach values higher than 10, and while not always displayed properly, they are taken into account.
Finally offensive doctrine may be the king of all as it adds +1 “free” attack skill and a flat 10% planning bonus, that is equal to 5(!) skill level in planning, and applies to all subordinates, regardless of everything else. Thus is the max 100% planning bonus achievable: 30% base + 20% (planning level 10 on the general) + 10% (planning level 10 on the field marshal) + 10% (offensive doctrine) get us to 70%. Where does the rest come from?
3. Grand battleplan doctrine
It has the most potential with +30% planning bonus and brilliant strategists (also +10% coordination and +10% entrenchment).
If you paid attention in the first part you have probably realised that the multiplicative nature of bonuses means that for the best outcome we ideally have all 9 categories, and that 1% increase in one category can modify 10+% in the final result. An example: the attacking division has 100 soft attack, regular experience for 25%, air support for 30% and the 50% country bonus from the template above. This results in 100*1,25*1,3*1,5= 247,5 soft attack. If the commander gets 40% planning bonus, the result is 100*1,25*1,5x1,3*1,4=346,5 almost double.
That is why gand battleplan is potentially much stronger than superior firepower: left side gives you +30% planning while SF only +10%. The advantage in the multipliative section will overcome the (not-so) multiplicative template bonuses if there is more than 25-30 days to plan (before the war starts for example).
The brilliant strategist personality trait gives any new general +1 free attack skill, +1 free planning skill, and makes even more likely to gain attack and planning on levelling up – thus the ideal general becomes more feasible.

I have a good feeling about this format. Seems pretty slow, the morphs have a similar effect on the format as they do in khans. I think all of the morphing gold commons are strong, particularly the UR and WU ones. Went greedy with splashes but morphs smoothed it out a lot.
I do worry that it won’t be as good in draft, because synergy and efficiency will be way higher. I really hope the RW aggro deck is weak.

Only recently got back into collecting, but would love to know if I have anything good! There’s so much more I still have to sort through and I’ll definitely post more if people would like! I also have some new pulls I could post!

In the two hundredth and sixty fourth year of the Prophet of Profits, in the reign of our Speaker Rock the Third of the House Feller over the Gand Republic of Gotham:
Ritualistic shopping has increased threefold this winter season in response to the sighting of a Carie. The spirit has shown itself at the peak season for sighting, when spirits once frozen in heat are melted by snowfall. The young son of the Mayor of Queens, a lad of twelve, has come with his father to the Court of Manhattan. The Mayor intends to assist in the Speaker’s search through the city for the witch-spirit. The boy, though, will be seeing no such action. He is here purely for the fact that his father is his Ward, and he should not delay any aspect of his intense education. The child has his own plans, however, and, when his father heads off, he begins to wander around the Great City Hall of Speaker Rock, coming to overhear the conversation of a trio of guards stationed by the tall doors of the main entrance.
The boy hears the large one first, “… but that’s old. Haven’t you heard the news of late? Every other day it seems someone has something new to say about this Carie. Men like us have been stationed every winter to watch for the melting of a spirit and here it is, happening before our very eyes! This is legendary, boys, legendary! When was the last time something like this ever happened, Henry?"
“‘Bout forty years ago, my father said.”
“Yes, forty years! Forty years since the spirit of Betsearos possessed one of the last Theovelts to take back Manhattan for the Americanist heathens! I hope they put me on a horse soon. Oh, to charge through the streets! Looking for this… huh, now that I think of it, what is this Carie called, Elias?”
“The record here says a woman yesterday was shouting outside the Minimall of Manhattan about a ‘Moriah’, saying ‘Moriah has her’, ‘she’s taken my sister’, or something like that.”
“Well, it seems this Carie has revealed her name quite early. She must be quite confident in what she can do with a great city like Manhattan. Part of me scoffs at her, but the other… hmm… maybe I had too much merriment in me at the start of all this. Only in due time will we see if she inspires a woman to take up power like that Carie El-Sah the Lady Shriner or Carie Ursula of Wild Aurora. What else does the record say, Elias?”
“It does not seem as if this Carie is interested much in inspiring. One of the holy inventors—"
“Blessed be his work for the mighty Dollar’s products,” quickly mumbled the large man.
“Yes, blessed he… was able to drive the Carie out of that woman yesterday. She wasn’t saddened or embarrassed by it, strangely enough, as victims of older Caries were. She embraced this… what was his name… hmm… oh, here, ‘ventor Morgan—"
“Blessed be—“
“Yes yes yes, blessed blessed, let me finish, Karnigee. She jumped to embrace ‘ventor Morgan, thanking him ‘sincerely’, ‘tearfully’, and ‘from the bottom of her heart’. It appears as if the Carie’s song drove her insane.”
“A song? Was the Carie singing to her?” asked Henry. He seemed much younger than the other two.
The large one immediately spoke up, “The ‘song’ is the message that the Carie gives to whomever they possess, often women or young men. Their voice creates a strong reaction in the victim, and if it is the right victim, the Carie forms a bond with them. With a bond, the Carie can show the full extent of its damned, infernal power. And yes, she was singing. That’s how the Carie speaks.”
“Besides that, the method of this Carie Moriah is entirely foreign compared to those of the annuals," said Elias, "usual the songs are inspiring or uplifting. Her violence could make her more dangerous than those before. Entirely destructive and chaotic, a true form of deviancy. We must certainly put this spirit to rest if Manhattan does not want to be swimming in blood."

"WHO GOES THERE," said Karnigee, looking out through the narrow windows of the entrance doors. His searching eyes did not seem to land on anything of note. "ANSWER ME! WHO GOES THERE?" The sweet yet hollow song vibrated through the door, echoing around the whole entrance of the hall.
There is just one thing I neeed.
“This is the song,” said Elias, dropping the record he was holding, “this is most definitely the song. Oh, what a demon this is. What poor soul does she have under her thumb? May the Dollar pity them. Bless them, bless them!”

“SHOW YOURSELF,” boomed Karnigee again, “Show your wretched self this INSTANT, DEMON! I KNOW YOU ARE BEHIND THIS GATE.”

All three of the men turned sharply to face a child no more than twelve with the deceiving voice of an angel. His eyes were black, his face twisted, nails like claws, red like blood. He leaped at the men. Karnigee rushed forward.
Elias realized it in a second. “WAIT, THAT BOY IS—“
Karnigee jumped to meet the boy in the air, whacking at his head. The boy spun and hit the ground some eight feet behind Karnigee at the feet of Henry and Elias. He was in one piece, out cold.
“Thank the Dollar you kept your sword sheathed, Karnigee,” said Elias.
“It’s the Carie we want, right? No point in killing our fellow citizens if we can help it.”
“Do you not recognize the pattern of his robes? This is a child of a mayor.”
Karnigee’s eyes widened. “Oh, all that is the Prophet’s knowledge, thank the Dollar…” Karnigee put his face in his hands and paced the room, continuing to mumble holy names. “How do we ever tell his father—“
At that moment a great entourage of saddled knights arrived at the gate. They were led by Speaker Rock with Inventor Morgan and the Mayor of Queens at his sides. The Mayor dismounted and hurried over to his son, lifting him off from the ground and holding him close. He was still breathing, but from his mouth came whispers of muffled, operatic shrieking and wailing. The Mayor's already desperate face grew more fraught with the torment of uncertainty.
“All will be well, Mayor Scott,” said the Rock, honoring the sorrow of his vassal by removing his copper fedora, a recent product of Inventor Morgan’s revelation, “The boy’s life is now in the hands of the Dollar and his servants. Morgan will take the job from here.”

The Mayor placed his son in the hands of the approaching Inventor, following the greying yet resilient minister out of the room.
The Speaker turned to his men. “Elias, Karnigee, and… yes, Henry, thank you all for your work. You will each be honored properly in my court for capturing the Carie and saving the life of the heir to my dear friend. For now, the witching season has been brought under control. Let us thank the dollar with a hearty good shopping spree.”
