Argument backstory:
My boyfriend had a very busy week with work. There’s a lot on his plate, and he had a night of feeling pretty worked up.
I asked him if he needed help, he said yes. So I helped him write a list of all the things he had to do, then rated them from High to Medium to Low priority. He started working away, though I kept seeing him get caught on his phone. We both have the tendency to doom scroll (ADHD), and because I knew he had to finish deliverables that night (it was 10:30pm already) and had to be up at 4am for a ten hour work day, I figured I’d nudge his focus back onto work. So I asked him (in a sweet voice) what he was doing. It really bugged him and he got super defensive & annoyed. I told him I didn’t actually care if he was on his phone but that I was trying to help. He didn’t listen and kept repeating how he couldn’t believe I’d act like that with him. I was very confused, considering he constantly does that to me when I’m trying to study and get off track. He takes my phone away sometimes (after asking me) bc your girl can get derailed easily & so can he.
I then got frustrated because he wasn’t listening to my clarification, and kept getting elevated. So I just got up and walked away. He followed me and I stopped doing my part to contribute to a healthy conflict resolution at this point bc I was angry & upset. He wouldn’t accept the fact that I wasn’t trying to judge him, that I did not care what he did and that I was only trying to help. So I walked away. He followed me and kept saying that I needed to fix it because he can’t handle the additional stress I had caused. I didn’t know how though bc he wasn’t listening to me. Maybe I could have empathized more?

I eventually said I couldn’t talk about it anymore bc he was elevated and went into the bedroom. He whipped something at the door after I closed it. I opened and asked what happened & he said he threw a pop can at the door but then deflected onto how he couldn’t believe I’d created this. I was really upset at this point bc throwing/breaking things crosses a line for me. I told him that this was not okay with me and unacceptable. I locked myself in the bathroom until I calmed down. When I came back out, he was waiting and said we needed to talk about it. I said no, that he’d crossed a line and I no longer felt safe. He then slammed the door and called me a fucking lunatic.
Am I the asshole here? Should I have been more empathetic at the start? I feel I got defensive because I was only trying to help and he didn’t accept that explanation so I shut down a bit.

When I try and login to my linkedin account in a new browser I am getting a Security Verification where it is asking for a 6 digit number sent to my email. When I enter the code it sends tells me to check the linkedin app. I check the app on my phone and it asks me if I am trying to reset my password. I can respond with yes or no and either way my browser goes back to the Security Verification asking for another code. When I enter the code it sends me back to the phone app. This happens over and over. I have also tried to reset my password on my phone app but I can't remember my password, so I get the Security Verification and after answering it I get a message saying "Oh no! For everyone else who is an adult here in the US, all you're gonna do is make many if not MOST things you deal with more more difficult by going a completely no-surf route. Are you gonna drive to the utility company during business hours once a month to pay that elec. bill in-person? Because they may not offer pay by phone and may require payment in-person by check. Or are you gonna go back to 1990 and start paying by checks, and mailing all your bill payments weeks in advance (or paying costly priority/overnight delivery) to avoid being late? Are you gonna cal your bank to check your balance on a near-daily basis and balance your checkbook/bank account by hand vs. using the bank website? etc etc etc
At a certain point you all need to be realistic. You aren't making your lives easier by going 99%-100% no-surf....all you're doing is adding lots of annoyances, complexity and time-consuming things to your daily routines as an adult.

I was talking with a technician on the phone about my malfunctioning gate opener. We talked about the batteries and if I had any other batteries I could try. The opener normally takes 12V 7Ah SLA batteries. I have a few 12V 50Ah SLA batteries left over from a Ryobi mower that I converted to LiFePO4. I offered to try one of those, but he said they were too much and could damage the circuit board.
Is this accurate? I have been operating under the assumption that electronics will pull the amps they need, assuming the power source can supply them. I thought I could put a dozen 12V batteries in parallel if I wanted to and it would just increase capacity. Is there something I’m missing?

I'm not sure if this post belongs here but when i was checking other rules of other convos it didn't belong but I really need answers.
A little back story I(17F) made a friend also (17F) at practice. We had already known each other but it was only in passing at school we weren't friends. We ended up joining a club together and thats when we started to get close. We would ride to practice together, have sleepovers together, the whole nine yards.
We ended up going on a trip together with a few other people and we were having a good time. Before the trip she had told me about a boy she met and how they got along really well. I was extremely excited for her because she looked happy.
Things were great on the trip we were having a good time and, I went to her room with another friend. We were laughing and we were having a good time is all I can really say if you get my drift. Next thing I know she blurts out that she was pregnant. Yes, pregnant. This wouldn't have been a problem had it not been for the amount of fun we were having.
I suddenly felt like I couldn't breathe and trying to make the situation better I asked what her plans were. She said she was going to keep it. I asked if she told anyone other than me and the other friend that was with us but she said no. The other friend (18F) said I should drop it and we could talk about it later.
I figured this was also a good idea and stopped talking about it but it was still on my mind.
To rewind from this I usually have premonitions in dreams but they're not immediate. Meaning they wont happen the next day. This is important to say because I had previously had a dream about me being in a hallway and the (17F) friend was trying to take pictures but my face was angry and confused. I saw it in the reflection before she snapped the picture and realized i needed to fix it and smile.
I then realized that this was the moment I had seen in my dream a month ago and that it was because she had told me this.
Before the trip she told me that she had gotten her cycle and asked me to check if she bled through because it was on her but not her jeans. These memories were flashing through my head after she told me she was pregnant. I asked her about it and she told me she lied. "I lied, I lied, I lied." Those words rang in my head so loud. She had lied to me. How far back did she begin to lie. This was one of the problems. I could care less about her being pregnant because that was something we could deal with we were friends after all. I would give her anything she needed.
The fact that she had been lying, it felt like she broke my trust. Like I was looking at a stranger. I didn't know what to think. Had the friendship been built off of lies was a big question for me. The second problem for me was that she is a smoker. Vapes and weed. The entire trip. She wanted to keep the baby but she was still using. That was all I could think about. When I was back to my senses I would tell her that she shouldn't do that because it wasn't ok. Implying that she had something to protect and take care of. All she would say was why. It was like she didn't care or didn't remember what she had told me. The rest of the trip I would give her snacks and food and try to keep her away from smoking. Some people said that was weird but I was just trying to help.
I started distancing myself from her because i needed time to process but I was still trying to be there for her. After the trip we all went home and i distanced from everyone. I felt I had no one to talk to about it. She ended up texting me saying it was a joke. My trust was already broken and I didn't know if I could believe anything she would say. Some homeless orphan, or maybe even one of Varys' little birds, goes exploring, stumbles onto one of Aerys' forgotten caches, it catches fire and triggers a chain reaction. Too bad so sad. Northmen, Dornishmen, and Iron Islanders did not have anyone of importance attending, but the rest of the Kindgoms lose many an important player in the game.
• Loras was at the hunt, but Olenna, Mace the Ace and Margaery, invited to the capital by Renly, who, being the groomer that he is decided to start the Lyanna lookalike thing young, were all toast. Willas and Garlan have weathered the storm, having stayed at home, and they were in general smart cookies, but not Queen of Thorns level smart, and nearly not as power-hungry. They just wanted to chill and grieve now.
• The Iron Islands have barely begun to recover from their last attempt at independence, but the Great Fire presented them with an opportunity like none other, and so they have made a half-arsed attempt at ploundering the Western coast of the Seven Kingdoms. In Winterfell, young Theon loses his head.
• Jon Arryn, Lysa, Sweetrobin, and Baelish were unsurprisingly in King's Landing at the time. They did not attend the hunt, and now they also were all toast. Harry was still a green boy at the time, the lords were not pleased with the prospect of a regency, many of them wanting absolute power for their own now that the main Arryn line was extinct, the Mountain Clans saw that as a good omen and went on a rampage. The Vale was in turmoil.
• Tywin and Kevan attended the feast but not the hunt, as they were visiting Cersei and her children at the time. They, too, were all toast. Jaime and Lancel could not get out of their respective Kingsguard and page duties due to Bobby B being petty for once, so they survived, but now a succession crisis in the Westerlands was also in place with the potential heirs being a grief-stricken and deeply unlikable Kingslayer with a vow of celibacy, a deeply unlikable whoremonger Imp, and a green boy.
• Edmure was also in King's Landing, visiting Lysa, and opted to visit a tavern with several other prominent Riverlands heir lads, so can you guess what they all became? You are goddamn right! Toast! So now Hoster, who was already at the first stages of his terminal illness and could not perform, only had the Blackfish, who wasstill refusing to marry, and the Stark kids for heirs. Several other houses were experiencing similar issues, but apparently while everybody else was grieving, Old Walder held a massive celebration at the Twins. Oh, and make no mistake, he will also be pushing for Genna and Emmon's kids to inherit Casterly Rock, and let us not forget about trying to put all of his daughters into newly widowed Robert's bed. How 'nice'.
• As previously mentioned, Cersei and all three of Robert's golden 'heirs' were home at the time. Tragically, so was the Mannis. Which means now Bobby's heirs were a gay pedo, a greyscale-ridden girl, and a score of bastards. Not that that was of any concern to Robert, he normally would not give a rat's arse about any of them dying. The matter in which they had died, though? Now, that is another thing entirely! Wildfire is a clear mark of the work of DRAGONSPAWN! Without Jon Arryn or dear old Ned to steady him, he declared war on the entire continent of Essos to deal with DRAGONSPAWN! for good. Screw securing his line, he can do it later. Everybody in Westeros thought this idea was bonkers and a clear sign of his own Targ ancestry coming out, and they surely had their own problems to deal with, but oh well, he was King. For now. And oh, where are the Targs by the way?
• While Dorne has rejoiced and begun discreetly gathering troops in Viserys' name, Vizzy the Mad himself and his sister were nowhere to be found. For all of his abundant mental issues, Viserys was slippery as an eel and has gotten very good at hiding in the slums of whatever Free City he was in at the time. Dozens of Robert and Illyrio's agents were out to get him, and he could not really distinguish him from Doran's agents, could he? In the end, though, Doran proved fleetingly victorious, until Vizzy got felled by a shadow demon at the docks, just as he was about to set sail for Westeros. Oh yeah. Melisandre had decided to shift her attentions to Bobby dearest, proclaiming him Azor Ahai reborn, and had managed to calm him down a little with her magical nether regions, promising and delivering on a bit more boring yet far more quicker way to get rid of the Targs. In the process, Daenerys had escaped, but had also gotten the short end of the stick by encountering the same type of wizard young Varys had, who promptly caught her and made her permanently barren, Aretuza-style. This is no maegi curse. Not even a dragon can grow a secong uterus. She may or may not get her dragons several years down the line, but her own line definitely ended with her.
• Speaking of Illyrio. With Varys having perished in the fire, he became the head of the whole fAegon operation, and started aggressively marketing the young 'King' to the Seven Kingdoms. The thing is, word of a dead Spider, one-sided letters in cypher, and word of JonCon who is easily led and could be convinced Aegon Jinglebell Frey was the son of his Silver Prince if you told him enough sentimental plattitudes, is not enough. That kid could be any random Lyseni or dragonseed. And the Golden Company's involvement only made the whole shebang more sus. It still gave them a modicum of support... until their glorious homecoming ship got caught in a storm in the Narrow Sea and drowned. fAegon, the sole survivor, was now best bros with Patchface and his namesake Jinglebell. The fiasco, however, gave many an enterprizing man on both sides of the Narrow Sea an idea, and Westeros became inundaded with dozens of various fAegons, fViseryses, fRhaenyses, fDaeneryses, and even an occasional fRhaegar and f'Dragonwolf', all claiming the same thing. The latter, however, made Catelyn a bit sus, and she wrangled the truth out of her husband.
• It did not make things better, however. You see, dearest not-so-gentlereader, instability South of the Wall made the Night King seize the opportunity a couple of years earlier, bringing terror to the Free Folk, who, in turn, came in troves and brought terror to the North. Ned Stark, unlike his son/nephew, was not one to negotiate with wildings, and young, too young Robb and Jon, both eager for glory despite being barely into their teens, snuck onto the battlefield and both died by enemy arrows.
• In the end, an unlikely Suicide S̶q̶u̶a̶d̶ Duo of Bobby B and Dany on dragons tried having their last stand against the Others but failed. Oh well. At least no future Westerosi will worry about not having an air conditioner in a heatwave now. You know we all do. Ain't that, in a way, a happy ending?

“Using fake names” Julia, Kayla, my boyfriend John and I went to the bar one night. Julia decided to go try and get free drinks from 3 guys and we were all like ok just be safe. Well Kayla comes over to John and I saying she’s worried about Julia that these three guys are on something other than alcohol. So I went over and heard one talking about getting married the next day while Julia is obviously drunk and screaming about how they keep looking at her chest and shoving her chest in their faces. I then tried to get her attention so she’s come play pool with us again. She shoved me in the chest so I said “how would your boyfriend feel about this” and Julia said “well he’s secure unlike John” and then shoved me again. At this point I was pretty upset cause I was just trying to keep her safe and she decided to shove me and insult my boyfriend for no reason. I went back to Kayla and asked if I should call her boyfriend Mason. Kayla was like yea you should cause we were both worried about her and couldn’t get her away from these three guys surrounding her and she was obviously drunk. So I went to the bathroom and called Julia’s boyfriend telling him I was worried about her and couldn’t get her away from these guys he didn’t believe me and had Kayla come in and she told him the exact same thing. Then while still in the bathroom Julia walks in and I was like I’m talking to someone else and she goes “ I’m gonna go F with these guys at the bar again” I asked mason if he heard that and he said yes and hung up on me. I went back out and soon after Julia answered a call from mason and walked out of the bar and texted Julia to come out secretly so I wouldn’t notice. Then all three of them ignored me asking about how Julia was doing for 2 days. And long story short they turned the story around where I was the drunk one and intentionally tried to break Julia and mason up. And they whole heartedly believe Julia did nothing wrong and I’m the bad guy. They aren’t even mad at Kayla when she said the exact same thing I did. And I’m honestly just so hurt this is someone that I’ve had in my life for a while and we were supposedly best friends and it hurts so bad that instead of just saying hey I was drunk thanks for trying to look out for me I’ve been completely shut out and blamed for the whole thing
Update* Yesterday another one of her friends “Laura” (known her since she was 8) found out what happened and got Julia and me to go to a restaurant and then wanted us to talk things out after eating. Julia just threw back handed comments the whole time and then when we went outside I tried to tell my side of the story and she just looked at me with a smirk on her face then started saying I was screaming at her and Laura was like no she’s not what do you mean then Julia was like well me and mason broke up because of you (no they did not break up according to her story with them on it kissing) she just insulted me the whole saying I don’t want that thing in my life, she’s a lying dog, I’m gonna h!t you and that’s a promise etc etc and I ended up just walking away cause I said my peace about what happened and If she was gonna lie straight to our faces about her breaking up with mason etc etc and then threaten me I felt it wasn’t worth it and I didn’t need someone in my life like that anyway Julia and Laura ended up talking for another 30 minutes and Julia called mason and said the exact same thing about what happened at the bar that I said just super sugar coated and then Laura told Julia if she was gonna act like that then she didn’t wanna be around her anymore and left… I also have videos of all this.
