These past couple of months of me have been rough to say the least in all honesty. I recently thought me and a friend shared romantic feelings for each other. Talks about moving away together, getting married having kids the whole 9, just for her to blindside me and start dating some new guy and move in with him not even 3 months after dating. Cool, whatever, feelings change. But recently trying to cope with that along with my parents hot and cold manipulation tactics is going to send me over the edge.
For context, I still live with my parents as I'm trying to finish college that I fully fund myself with the occasional help from my grandfather, which i don't even like accepting. Last year I bought a new car due to a car crash, and since i've bought it I feel like my parents take advantage of me and my car just because "I owe it to them." It usually isn't a problem, but when you have 4 children all without cars who constantly need rides and don't provide you with fuel money (especially in this economy) it can start to get irritable because that full tank is now gone just on running back and forth picking up and dropping people off. I bought this car for ME to get to school and work and be able to have the freedom to travel and socialize. But the more time I spend at home it seems like my parents see me as some sort of bum and think the gas in my car that I pay for by myself is theirs to direct me around and bail them out so they can do fuck all. At this point I'm really starting to fucking hate them, and am looking for any out I can so I don't full on resent them and cut ties with them. I never thought I would get to this point, but the more I think back on their choices and how they've effected me, it just grows my resentment toward them. It just feels like they only want me to be independent when it's convenient to them, but when it comes to making decisions for myself "I'm not ready." I'm not even sure what to do anymore, I feel like if something doesn't change I will genuinely lose my mind

Let me preface this by saying I don't hate anyone. It's just that the T in LGBTQ really feels out of place to me: lesbians, gay, bi, are all referring to personal preference in partners which is cool, anyone can like anyone else. But trans people are all about identifying as someone they aren't born to and then forcing other people to deny their past self and acknowledge who they think they are. Couple that with literally mutilating themselves to feel like the opposite sex and it feels more like a mental disordetrauma response than it is an affirmation issue.
To clarify, I have no issues with drag/crossdressing/etc. They still recognize themselves as whatever sex they were born to, and, again, it's a personal choice to dress a certain way. this is just for people who actively try to change themselves into another sex that they weren't biologically born with and then FORCING other people to recognize them for what they inherently aren't.

Nice to meet you, I'm Dylan! To put it simple, I am a single 22 year old man who has been pretty lonely in life and lacking in female connection and interaction. I've been feeling a little bummed out lately. I always try and stay happy and see the best in things. But.. I've just been so alone. Most of my whole childhood and adult years have been spent feeling lonely. I grew up surrounded by cornfields which was peaceful but also has a lonely aspect to it. My family never really were close and never did anything as a family really. And part of it too is the fact that I never had any neighbors my age to interact with. But aside from that, my adult life has been very lonely. I'm just always by myself. I barely have any meaningful adult relationships or experiences, or even any friends.
I work a 3-11 job in building maintenance at my company world headquarters building which I love, but again it's very lonely. I work the off shift so the building is always empty. I don't get normal social interaction with people my age or a chance to build relationships. I only have 3 older men as co-workers and we are mostly in the basement away from any people on the floors from knowing our existence. I always walk the floors and see office people laughing and chatting with their coworkers and I just don't have that kind of experience. And just.. no one knows I exist really. Everyone probably assumes I have a lot of friends, but I'm struggling inside with being so alone and trying to meet people and get past the "hi how are you?" "I'm good thanks" stage. Most people don't seem to want to talk beyond that. And most women are already in relationships and thus it would seem weird to approach them in an office setting trying to get to know them deeper. But man those "hi how are yous" are the only real interactions I get during my day.. so thus I decided to come here lol. Rant over, sorry! I promise I'm not a downer. 😅

As you can tell, I am very mature for my age and am polite and have good grammar which unfortunately not everyone my age does anymore lol. I am not active at all on social media/internet culture really and don't know much about all the slang the younger people these days use. I feel like I'm 50. 🤣

I love to bake, especially in the fall! I love pies, cakes, pastries, cookies, etc. I restored a vintage KitchenAid mixer that needed tbe gearbox rebuilt. Eventually I would love to practice home canning my own food.

Oh my gosh, I like so much!! Alternative rock, punk, post punk, electronic, synth pop, psychedelic rock, hard rock, etc. I am very non judgemental and open when it comes to music. My three current favorite bands are Type O Negative, Joy Division, and the Cure.
• Nature walks and camping
I really enjoy camping, making fires, and relaxing by a campfire. I love to take walks outside and just enjoy the beauty and simplicity of nature. It's wonderful, especially in a world so focused on everything digital.

I'm a maintenance guy and one of my hobbies is electronics repair so I am good with my hands and just all around good at troubleshooting and fixing all sorts of things around the house. I strongly dislike the modern cookie cutter cheap construction of homes today. I would love to live in an old home one day. I also love their architecture and uniqueness, as well as architecture of old cathedrals and other buildings.
• Relaxing

Who Is Denying Health Care?
I’d like to tell you this is an outlier, but across the board patients are getting denied access to health care. How do I know? It’s happening to me.
Family Doctors Are Denying Health Care
What do family doctors do? They don’t do physicals anymore. Their jobs is essentially order referrals and requisitions. They don’t even do that well. Roughly half of my referrals don’t go through. I had a previous family doctor use my entire appointment to lecture me on getting the COVID vaccine. I had already had my first dose and was scheduled to get my second shot at the time. Keep in mind I had that doctor’s appointment because I have serious physical pain. The doctor wasn’t interested in treating me. He was interested in pushing a specific ideology. I’ve had the Pfizer COVID vaccine in total five times. I was overdue for my tetanus vaccine. I had to ask during three different appointments before I was granted that vaccine. This is absurd.
What’s more absurd is I have had multiple family doctors reject me as a patient. Health Care Connect, a government funded service, claimed these doctors were accepting new patients but they weren’t. I found one doctor on my own that was accepting new patients. The receptionist made me bring a printout out of my prescriptions as if I was a drug addict. After waiting a month for my appointment to meet this doctor he refused to take me as a patient. Claimed he couldn’t help me. He didn’t even ask for the prescription printouts. He couldn’t give me an answer as to why he couldn’t help me. So I asked him to put in it in writing he was declining me as a patient. He declined to do so and said he wasn’t obligated to do so.
Walk-in Doctors Are Denying Health Care
I requested imaging to try to find the source of my pain from a walk-in doctor. They claim they sent the requisition. A year later and the hospital the requisition was supposedly sent to had no record of it. So I went back to the walk-in clinic to try to get them to resend the referral. Instead of seeing a doctor this time they gave me a physicians assistant. The PA refused to resend my imaging referral. Told me to go to the emergency room to get my imaging. I thought the entire point of a walk-in clinic was to keep people out of the ER? I’ve since been to the ER. No they won’t just giving you imaging if you ask even if you are prepared to wait 5+ hours. I demanded a copy of the requisition for the imaging from the walk-in clinic they claim they initially sent. I scanned it in and emailed to the hospital.
Hospitals Are Denying Health Care
Even with the requisition dated a year earlier they would not honour the requisition. It gets worse. Multiple hospitals have denied me health care. An ER doctor looked at my medical records and essentially denied me health care. He basically inferred since other doctors couldn’t find the source of my pain he wasn’t going to waste his time thinking about it. He ordered bloodwork to confirm I wasn’t actively dying and then kicked me out. I signed up for a virtual emergency call with another hospital as recommended to me by telehealth. That hospital nurse during the call denied me care because she said they don’t do second opinions. So I said fine get me an appointment with any doctor of your choosing. She then claimed where I lived wasn’t in the catchment zone for that hospital. I’ve been to this hospital many times. I have an outstanding referral that has gone unanswered from this hospital. Changing the reason mid conversation as to why I am being denied health care seems like a lot of nonsense. A finally my favourite hospital. That’s sarcasm because this third hospital scanned the wrong part of my body and then lied about it. Not only did they bully my family doctor into taking the blame for this error, but they had all my personal information wrong. This hospital thought I was in a wheelchair. They also had the wrong phone number for me. It was a area code for a city not even in the Greater Toronto Area. All I wanted from this hospital was an apology and for them to fix their mistake. The PR person from this hospital told me they were taking steps to ensure this would never happen again. I asked what steps were taking place. I was not given an coherent answer. They gave me another scan, but I have no idea if that was even done correctly. I tried to confirm with the technician what part of my body they were scanning. Her response was that she is doing the requisition called for. So no steps to ensure correct scans were being done. The extra radiation from another CT scan probably isn’t ideal but what I am more concerned about is the dye. My scan didn’t call for dye, but at some point the hospital changed the scan and decided it was a good idea to inject me with dye for a scan I didn’t need my I remind you.
The Government Is Denying Health Care
I have tried to get in touch with the Minister of Health for Ontario, Sylvia Jones. All I get back is a copy paste form letter that doesn’t relate to my situation. I have spoken to my local MPP. She was defending the doctors that denied me care. Then claimed the government is hiring more family doctors. Not sure how that related to my situation, but okay… Then she asked me if I was open to private health care. My response was I was open on a contingency basis, but I don’t think she understood me. If a private doctor could can diagnosis me I’ll pay whatever their fee is. If they phone it in and cannot figure anything out I don’t agree with private health care. The problem is private health is rampant in Ontario. So much so it’s a two-tier system. From my understanding private health care was not currently legal in Ontario, but there are loopholes. These private doctors sell yearly subscriptions ranging from $3000 to $10,000/year. I’ve heard speculation that some of these private clinics may even charge as much as $20,000 but I have been unable to verify that claim. It’s kind of hard when these clinics don’t post their rates online and operate in the shadows.

The Lord doesn't need to call salvery an abomination. There is a correct way to handle slavery through debt. However, that does not mean they are property. The Lord's children, ARE NOT FOR SALE. All debt should be and needs to be released freely every 7 years. Then you bless them as they leave freely, regardless of the amount of debt returned back.
Homosexuality IS A CHOICE. It's a much of a choice to choose who you sleep with, as it is to lust in the first place. He calls it an abomination because it's your choice, and it almost always leads to a chaotic state. Not directly, rather, indirectly. It leads culture into a mindset of "I should be able to anything I want to". Sadly, that's just not how a stable society functions, and you see it's ripple effect today.

Homosexuality is NOT a choice, plain and simple, no buts or ifs. If it was, you could choose to be homosexual for just 5 minutes to prove your point which you obviously can’t, no matter how hard you try you can’t control who or what you’re attracted to. It is also not inherently lustful just as heterosexuality isn’t inherently lustful, couples of any gender or sexuality can have a loving and healthy relationship. From what I have read on here... It's not too hard if the following are followed:
1) Research the disability you are claiming online. Look for symptoms. Learn them inside and out.
2) Practice saying what is wrong with your new disability in front of the mirror so you look natural during the c/p exam.
2) Embellish the disability like a motherf**ker.
3) Make some fake lay statements to ensure your "new" claim/ story is verified. Check Reddit "verify my reference" sub.
4) Always say your new disability came from drinking and partying in the " soldier quarters" on a Saturday night. Usually, incidents are NOT reported due to everyone to include the CQ are drunk. Perfect cover for any new story you want to tell. From PTSD to MST to broken bones to stds to whatever the f**k you feel your entitled to.
5) File your paperwork. Complete the process. And when denied, post the letter on here for more advice to ensure you are ENTITLED to the 100% you deserve.

One of my LORs (a medicine-adjacent non-science teacher within my minor) is making me a little nervous because they keep asking for more and more information about me. They want a resume and separate essay about my candidacy and background. I have already sent my transcript, my Personal Statement, and my entire activities section to them.
They have already written some medicine LORs in the past, but I am concerned that their essay may be unfocused from the actions and character that they have directly witnessed from me, given the type and quantity of external information I am providing. I have a good relationship with this person, but I don’t want my app to be hurt unintentionally by an LOR.
How do I resolve this? Do I politely send an email clarifying the focus of this letter, provide the desired info and then clarify, or do I just pray that they write well and maintain focus within their writing?
Any advice would be appreciated.

I'm writing a small program that copies information to the user's clipboard in order to paste it into various programs. The output content is formatted in a table. So far, I have the program copying strings of LaTeX and HTML that can be pasted into Overleaf or a Quarto document. I'm looking for ways to copy a table that will paste into Word and similar programs. I read that Word will parse an HTML table. This works great for me, since I already have the code to assemble a String of HTML.
My question is this: How do I tell the clipboard that it's HTML and not a String?
I'm using 3.5.

Hi all,
I'm very confident there has been a lot of rants here, but there's a lot I need to get off my chest.
For context I work at store 4705 in Tukwila, WA.
For the past year, maybe year and a half at this point, I've seen and felt such a surge in either apathy or ignorance in this store, particularly with Management and District Management. While a lot of this I’m writing down I've seen here a lot already, I feel the need to share it.
From ass backwards scheduling, a hiring freeze most of the year leading to atrocious coverage, ASMs that are either lazy or corporate micromanagers that don't care that people don't have coverage or have a life outside the store that can affect performance, seeing CXMs and DSs ground to a pulp and still being told they're not doing enough, it's piled up on me and I feel beyond burnt out.
I always felt kinda cool working here, like actually proud but now it's feeling like a sinking ship, scratch that, a SUNK ship with no escape. I can't exactly quit on the spot because I can't afford any gap on my pay and finding a new job has been a pain in the ass for the area.
To top things off, the past few months have been a roller coaster:
Someone is trying to organize a Union in the store and the store is divided between those who feel the union is BS because they don't want dues and have a lot of incorrect assumptions about unions (I chalk that up to the HR meetings that started since this came out) and those who are just tired of all the crap we’ve been through.
After that, HR, Labor relations and ASMs showed up and only the ASMs actually “helped”.
ASMs being transferred with some of the new ones either being inept as hell or completely overwhelmed by this store including one that's been apparently on leave for more than a month for god knows what (even with them being here a week before the leave, a lot of people dislike them already or just don't care about em).
ASDSs that have no idea what they're doing.3 People getting terminated for the most inane things (An 82 year old cashier got let go because months ago she grabbed a bottle of soda to drink something because no one would come to relieve her from the garden register even though she paid for it the day after).
New hires that are getting thrown to the wolves one week into being here. They're trying to be accountable for a lot of things but that's just a facade.
After all these things it felt like we were getting better only for it to get 10 times worse.
DS being having to cover because there's not enough people and getting burnt out (except for service desk, that DS is just rude af).
I honestly wish things would actually get better and be like they tell me it was a couple of years ago.
I don't know what this store needs at this point but
If I do manage to be lucky and find something else other than Depot, I'm gone, but man it has been HELL.

I know to most people I sound ridiculous at the moment trying to get a girl back that I’ve only known for a week but she made me feel incredible! The texting, the phone calls, soooo much in common and it was so easy to talk to her and have fun. I made it fairly clear I was looking for an exclusive relationship and she made it clear she wasn’t ready for that. I told her let’s just enjoy each other’s company and go from there no need to rush. My actions though unfortunately said something different than my words. For the past 2 days the texting slowed and energetically I felt her pulling away. Then the dreaded phone call saying I’m great but she can’t give me what I want at the moment. I understand her POV and I respect it but I wish we would explore each other more and it could potentially blossom into something in the future. I wrote her a letter just saying thank you for the times we spent together and I hope she finds someone that treats her great in the future when she’s ready. I have not given the letter yet. I don’t think she’s lying or making an excuse because the time we spent was definitely mutually great and we’ve discussed that. I feel like I’m weird for wanting this but I would truly appreciate any insight as to what I can do to give myself the best chance. Also she doesn’t want to see each other so making her laugh on the next date isn’t the kind of advice I can use. If I’m not crazy please help me. TLDR: I want to continue to see a girl who doesn’t want a relationship at the moment. What gives me the best chance at that?

I'm (24m) moving out of state this upcoming Sunday. I've been living in my current house for two years now, and my roommate (22f) moved in last fall. I had known her for a few months prior, and we briefly shared a mutual interest/attraction in each other before she moved in, which we discussed. We both agreed that it would be best to move on as friends since anything more could turn out messy if we lived together. That said, I had a massive crush on her, and despite my best efforts to get over her this past year, I never fully moved past it, likely because even though we talked about our feelings, we never really got closure. Regardless, we both remained respectful to each other and tried to be friends.
Fast forward to two months ago. After a party at our house, when we were both pretty drunk, I laid down in our foyer, and another roommate's guest laid down next to me. Then she laid down next to me too. I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, so I fell asleep. When I woke up the next morning, the other roommate's friend was still next to me, but she was gone. Not to sound rude, but she was all I really cared about. So later that day, I asked her if it meant anything. She admitted she likely wouldn't have cuddled up to me had the other girl not, but she was still attracted to me and was interested in hooking up before I move. Nothing ever came of this, and she had just gotten out of another situationship that was probably on her mind, but we did cuddle and watch one of her shows a few times (which I was openly fine with). I was simply confused.
About a week ago, she finally told me that we couldn't continue with anything and needed to move on, for real this time. It was disappointing but reasonable, and I was elated to finally have real closure and actually move past this silly crush. Plus I did enjoy just hanging out with her and wanted to be friends. That's what I wanted, but it's not what happened.
This past Friday, I had a guest over and my roommates were throwing a party. My guest didn't know anyone, so I didn't want to abandon him. About two hours into the party, my roommate, whom I just started trying to get over, began flirting with my friend right in front of me. And I felt trapped because I didn't want to leave my friend alone. But it was too much. I sat outside for what felt like hours for fresh air but couldn't breathe. I tried playing it cool, but it was obvious I was upset. At one point, she had to move her car so someone could leave (meaning she was sober, too), and on her way inside she asked me if something was wrong. Before I could answer, she then asked me, "Is it because I'm flirting with your friend?" That was the last straw for me. Not only was I hurt that she would consciously flirt right in front of me with my friend only a week after our talk when she knew my feelings, but now I had to answer a targeted question that proved to me that she knew what she was doing was questionable. I said "yes," and all I remember saying afterwards was, "Why would you do that?" I admittedly teared up because it was a lot to try and process at 3AM while slightly drunk. She asked if she could sit next to me, and I said I wanted to be alone. She went inside, talked to my friend, he came to talk to me, and then I got ready for bed with pretty much everything unresolved. As I went upstairs to sleep, I assured my friend I wasn't mad at him and told her I wanted nothing to do with her. We haven't spoken since, and frankly I don't want to.
Am I wrong for cutting her off and never wanting to talk to her again once I move? Being hurt by a woman is one thing, but I can't forgive someone who claimed to be my friend doing something she seemingly knew would hurt me.
TLDR: I had a crush on my roommate for over a year, and a week after we agreed nothing could happen and we should stay friends, she flirted with another friend of mine right in front of me despite knowing I still had feelings for her that I was trying to move past. Is it wrong for me to feel hurt?

I'm currently a first year student studying computer science at the University of Washngton, seattle campus. I have been at the school for like 3 quarters so far so this is almost the end of my freshman year, but even after 3 quarter taking CSE courses, I still can't find the balance to how to approach CSE courses in general. My main struggle is how should I use chatGPT for my programming assignments and homeworks.
Before starting university, I worked as a software engineering for about 9 months (not in the USA), and I was able to most of the works using chatGPT because all I had to do was understand the codebase, read the documentation, and write the required code using chatGPT. However, after I started school, I still using chatGPT for generating code for me and I don't know if that is a good thing or bad thing.
For example, I was writing this server side code for chatBot application in one of my CSE courses, and I was stuck on the problem for a very long time. Then, I used the chatGPT for an answer and it produced the correct answer in an instant. Since I was stuck on a problem, I did not see the point of not using a chatGPT. However, the problem arises when the code works and the application works, and I just move on to the next problem because it works.
I'm not even trying to understand the chatGPT result since it is working. I know that this is a bad practice, but I want to ask is it really necessary to understand the code if it works? if it works, it works right? I don't have to waste my time. if that is not right, how should I change my mindset and what programming practices should I try to develop? Is there any books/lectures/vidoes that I can find to help me cultivate different mindset?
In the past, even before chatGPT existed, people used to search answers on StackOverflow, but I remember some programmers used to say "don't blindly copy/paste code" and instead understand the them. I think with these people, they have really different mindset when it comes to code.
Most of my friends at school do not use chatGPT for programming and they basically do all of the code implementation from scratch. if they have to look at answers, they go to stackOverflow or google to search for answers, not chatGPT. what is the mindset that drives them to not use chatGPT for programming and instead use different tools like google or StackOverflow?
finally, my last question is what makes a good programmer?
