For context, I am a felon, I served time in prison for a property crime I committed when I was 19 years old, in prison I decided to turn my life around and learned how to tattoo, I truly dedicated myself to my art and and am starting to have a MUCH better life because of it,
When I was released from prison I had a very hard time finding a tattoo shop that would hire me, most said that since I learned in prison (even though I had just as many years of technical tattoo experience as they do) that they weren’t comfortable hiring me. Even though I became a licensed artist as soon as I was released.
When I finally was hired buy a shop, I was still living in a halfway house, (for any of you who have lived in a halfway house you know how this could be a problem) the manager at the halfway house was unhappy with the fact I was working In a tattoo shop, and told me to “find a real job, one that could be monitored”
The next day when I went back to the shop, I explained this problem to my boss (the shop manager, not the owner) he asked how much I was paying, when he found out I was paying over 700$ a month for a bedroom I had to share with 2 other grown men, he offered me a room in his house for 600$ a month, it seemed to good to be true so naturally I moved in.
At first living in the house was awesome, I finally had some privacy after so many years, that all changed when I started getting calls and texts at 3am to meet him (my boss who also lived in the house) in the hallway or kitchen, at first I would groggily get up and go see what he wanted only to get a 3 hour lecture on getting my life together, and how good of a person he is for taking me in, and how I needed to show more appreciation by cleaning up after his dogs, and cleaning the house for him, and problems at the shop. It started getting old, so I eventually started to ignore him, and avoid him, he seemed to get the message because he would only bother me at work and started leaving me alone at home,
After a while he started training me to be the manager for when he retired. (His biggest mistake) and he taught me everything about the books and the numbers, and the logs and the paperwork.
After a few months, we where all at the house one day, and him and his girlfriend come home from the bar and she gets into a huge argument with him, and drops a few bombs that no one else in the house knew, (there are 3 of us renting rooms in his house)
One; she is the breadwinner, she makes all the money and pays the bills
Two; he is helplessly addicted to booger sugar, and all his money is used on that. Not the bills.
Three; she is leaving and is no longer going to help with the house. Or the bills.
For the next month he looses it, he becomes an awful person he says that everyone has to pay double rent, double fucking rent. Because the wanted more coke. And he stopped going to work for a month and had no money, meanwhile I ran the shop.
One day I got a text, (the day after I had deposited my portion of the rent into the joined account he made so we could all pay rent online) that the house was in foreclosure, and we all had to find somewhere else to live.
I immediately logged into the joined account and pulled my money out, I turns out it was a lie and the house was not at risk, he wanted us to pay him more to support his coke habit.
When he finds out I removed my money from the account he tries to take legal action against me, however I had done nothing wrong, so it goes no where and I move out of the house, however I still work at the same shop as him, and he tries to ruin my tattoo career.
This man, tried to sue me for removing money from the account when he was “skimming rent” when that didn’t work he said it was theft or fraud and tried to violate my parole, and when that didn’t work he went after my career, (that didn’t work either because I just opened my own shop)
I am still on parole so I can’t handle him the old fashion way (snitches get stitches type of thing) so my only course of action is to get him back the way he got me.
Th evidence I have on him is substantial! I have video of him admitting he cooks the books by quoting a tattoo for 1000$ and only logging that tattoo for 400$ and saying that the other 600$ paid was a “tip” because tips don’t get logged for taxes in the tattoo industry
Not only that but i have the paperwork he falsified with this method as well,
I also have proof that he has started selling booger sugar out of the shop and using a similar method to launder the money.
I also know that he has unregistered illegal firearms in his house (all over his house)
My question is how do i go about fucking his life over with this information? Is there a way to report all of this anomalously? And what agency should i go through to report Tax evasion and money laundering?
Please help, this man needs to pay for trying to ruin my life (all over agin) i had been doing everything the way i was supposed to, and he tried to destroy that to be a crack head.

I honestly feel like the AoT fandom has died lately, where are all the fans at? Seriously lol I haven’t heard anyone mention it in forever. But I’m still here! I’d love to do an AoT roleplay with somebody. The story is beautiful, even if it is quite gruesome and sad. There are still aspects that still shine out, one of the main reasons as to why it’ll always hold the place of favorite anime in my heart.
To start things off, a small introduction on my part. You can call me Hina or Hinata and I’m from Japan. I’m currently in the GMT+1 timezone temporarily for vacation but I usually am in the PST timezone. I’m mentioning this because sometimes time zones can matter or change the roleplay/roleplay friendships. I don’t mind what timezone you’re in, honestly, as long as we can talk things out without a longggg pause. I have been writing since I was 9 when I joined a writing campaign and a story competition held by my school which sparked the writeroleplayer in me and I am currently 22 years old. To finish my introduction off, I am someone who listens to goth music/vkei (i LOVE plastic tree. i’m so happy to see they got some of their popularity back on tiktok), I like to play and watch basketball, I watch anime and I am currently rewatching bluelock as a refresher, and.. I also play many video games.
Now onto things I’m looking for roleplay-wise. I mentioned something about Attack on Titan but I didn’t talk about anything really specific. That’s the thing. I don’t mind what story we do. It could be something modern AU with the original characters, another story of Mikasa and Eren, maybe even an OC with one of the characters in a more modern setting. It could also be something done in the original timeline. Going through the events of becoming a scout and the rumbling as two other oc’s or one OC and one original character. I’m honestly down for anything! Just hit me with it.
CHARACTERS
I tend to use character sheets to describe my character, these usually consist of names, background, and personality. More so on appearances, I prefer using animated or drawn references than real life people. I enjoy good enough references where I get the idea of how the character would look like.
The types of characters I write are either the lone wolf type that has some sad past which leads them to want to join someone for a redemption arc or the bubbly character who is the one that brings the mood up and is usually seen as trustworthy and of that kind.
I like all types of tropes, especially enemies to lovers or rivalry. I also really enjoy opposites attract as a whole from either opposite personality or something else they would be opposites in. Enemies to lovers takes my heart, though. I love seeing the characters go past the urge to ultimately hate each other and/or go past their usual way of disliking the others lineage or upcoming.
REQUIREMENT
I think this is my last paragraph on the roleplay. It’s the most important, at least. Requirements. All roleplay searches come with them. Or at least that’s what I heard! But don’t fret, there isn’t much.
I’ve seen this as one of the most used requirements, and I agree with it. As someone who’s first language wasn’t English, I understand that you may not be great at it. But please, I do require a partner that at least has proper use of grammar and punctuation. You don’t even have to use big words or anything, just at least know where to put your periods and the placement of your words.
My second requirement is for you to be LITERATE! Please. I’m a big writer, I tend to ramble on and tend to write more than what I thought I would. (like i’m doing right now) I write multiple paragraphs from the starter until the scene relaxes. I also understand that sometimes writing big blocks of words every response is tiring or boring so I don’t expect it all the time, at least after the starter has been made and in more important scenes. Dialogue also cuts my replies shorter.
Please please please be polite in OOC! We may just be role playing together but kindness goes all ways. If we do include OOC, I enjoy talking about many things. My day, movies, games, funny moments and stories, all of that!

Two years ago, I began experiencing epileptic seizures where I would stare off into space for a minute or two, followed by about 15 minutes of various states of confusion with no memory of the event. In October 2023, we found a medication that seemed to work, as I hadn't had a seizure since then. Georgia requires you to be seizure-free for six months before you can drive.
At the six-month mark, my neurologist confidently told me to start driving again, even offering to get in the car with me. All my other doctors also gave me the green light, so I began test driving and felt great with no issues. I decided to buy a vehicle this month and purchased a 2024 Maverick Lariat 2.5L Hybrid in Terrain color with a brown interior and a moonroof. It's a fantastic truck.
However, after driving it for two days, I had a brief 61-second seizure overnight in my sleep. My neurologist mentioned that since I technically didn't lose consciousness, it was up to me whether to drive, but she no longer felt comfortable riding with me.
Now, I have this truck sitting in my driveway that I can't drive for at least six months, and possibly never again.
Georgia doesn't have a cooling-off period, so the truck is mine. I contacted the dealer, hoping for some leniency by showing my medical report, but had no luck. My next steps are to get estimates from CarMax and Carvana, then list it on Autotrader, Cars.com, Cargurus, Facebook Marketplace, and Maverick forums.
I'm asking if there are any other legal options I haven't considered of what to do with the truck.

My boyfriend (24M) and I (26F) have been dating for almost three months now. Recently, there’s been some tension and I’m not sure how to handle this situation. I think it’s a mixture of misunderstandings, honestly a mistake on my part, that led to one thought to another that I led to him thinking I was being secretive and untruthful.
Since the beginning of our relationship, everything felt good and perfect. We had amazing conversations, our values aligned, and it felt like we had the same goals. We are both aware on how much we are against adultery, and how much it will hurt us. I’ve been cheating on before, so I know how heartbreaking that experience is.
I’m not entirely sure what his dating history is like, but it feels like I have more than him. There’s a warmth in him that I feel like I’ve lost over the past years due to painful memories. To be honest, I was worried that I was “too dead inside” to be with someone as loving and warm as him. But regardless, I tried my best. There’s a certain quiet confidence and love in him that I admire. I wanted to learn to be like that too. And I’d like us to continue our relationship in a loving trustful way again.
There are four main incidences that led to this moment:

1. KOREA TRIP: Recently, I travelled to Korea for a month, and there’s been a lot of growing tension. To start, he believes that men and women can’t be friends (it’s a common view in Korean culture). His friend group feels the same. However, I grew up (in western culture) that women and men can be friends, and have a healthy platonic friendship. And my friend group feels the same as me. It’s a disagreement, most likely due to different environments and culture, but we still respected each other on that matter.

In Korea, I was planning to meet two of my guy friends and one girl friend (all separate hangouts) while my visit there. I noticed that he didn’t seem too pleased that I was meeting one-on-one with guys. I told him who I’m meeting (a guy from volunteering, a guy from my undergrad program, and a girl who used to be a visa student and live with me). He told me it was okay for me to meet guy friends, but to let him know if I’m drinking.
He sighed over the phone, so I assumed it was due to jealousy. I told him everything was fine, and that they’re just friends. But I was slightly bothered by the sigh, because it felt like he didn’t trust me. Either way, I thought I did as he asked. I told him where, when, and who I was meeting, and what my friendship is like with them. Before he went to bed (we were in opposite timezones), he asked me to let him know what I was up to that day. But after my hangouts he reached out to me telling me that he’s upset, because he thought I would update during my hangouts. It turns out that he hoped that I would send him updates like “I’m leaving now”, “I’m with my friend now”, “this is a photo of what we’re eating”, “I’m heading home now”, and “I’m home” when he woke up. But I didn’t send him anything.
For me, in my past relationships my partners were never really curious about my interactions with people. If I told them “I’m meeting a friend today”, their response was typically “okay have fun”, and that was it. So it didn’t register in my head that I should update him during the actual hangout. Nor was it a top priority in my head because of that. In addition, I tend to not look at my phone when I’m with someone, especially one-on-one. And because he said to let him know on how my day went, I was planning to tell him over the phone anyway and send everything at once while he’s awake, rather than send while he’s asleep in case I wake him up. After some conversation he said that he wasn’t worried that I was going to cheat, but that he didn’t trust guys because biologically they are prone to fall into their desires. And that typically when guys are friends with girls, there’s a purpose. As well as that he was worried something might happen to me because I was in a different country. I apologized, but I think it made him also worry that I was trying to hide from him.
I acknowledge that this was a misunderstanding on my part, because I didn’t think ahead that although my previous partners weren’t curious or invested in my social life, my current boyfriend is. So I could’ve thought to update him like he wanted to, but I didn’t. So I acknowledge it was my mistake.

1. INSTAGRAM: The second incident involves Instagram. I have two accounts on Instagram, a regular account and fitness account. I created the fitness account when I started getting interested in the gym. I loved seeing my progress, connecting with other gym rats, and learning from them. Although I got inappropriate dm’s here and there, almost 97% of the messages I get are “Hey! I loved your page and I’m a gym-goer myself. Let’s connect and cheer each other on!”. It was almost a copy paste for these messages, I think it was a way for people to get followers (follow for follow).

I never mentioned anything about people messaging me on my fitness to him before. I didn’t feel like necessary information, because it was just a “hey let’s follow each other!” tactic for new fitness Instagram users. However, he started to question how often I receive messages, how often I keep in touch with them. And honestly, it’s just once in a while, and maybe there might be a few messages back and forth if someone posts something cool on their story like a post workout photo (not sexual or anything, just fully clothed, sometimes with a group of friends), and someone might reply “good work!” That’s it. Nothing special. But he wasn’t sure how much is “sometimes” or “a few”. Even with my guy friends on my regular Instagram. I have friends from church, volunteering, networking events, school, etc that we send reels to each other time to time. He wasn’t sure what time to time meant so I said “maybe once a week? Or once a month? Depends on the person”. I think my vague answers made him believe I was being vague on purpose, to hide. But I was being 100% truthful. I got frustrated, because it felt like my Instagram was creating trouble for my relationship. So I temporarily deactivated both general and fitness accounts. Not out of spite to him, but rather a break from Instagram and the misunderstandings that came with it.

1. THIRD INCIDENT: GEORGE / Instagram.

My boyfriend and I got to know each other through my fitness account before we started dating. He messaged me saying “hey I also live in the same city as you and I go to the gym! Let’s be friends!” And that’s kind of how our relationship started. He was the kindest most sweetest down to earth person I’ve seen in a while. At the same time, I felt insecure. Because there was so much purity in his heart that I feel like I lost over the past years. Either way, I think there was some pressure inside of me that I wanted to be on my best behaviour. He inspired me to be more kind to myself, in my heart to others, and more.
But recently, there was a guy who sent him a follow request (let’s call him George 22M). I actually got a message from George first before my boyfriend on my Instagram, and they said that they were moving to my city soon as a visa student, and wanted some recommendations on the best gyms and protein powder.
So I messaged back, we hung out once (I was showing him the city), and ordered protein powder for him.
To be honest, I have a soft spot for people who are younger than me. I feel like I wasn’t really cared for as the youngest child. And I was always part of volunteering and leadership programs for visa students and new students. So I helped him out in that mindset, to be his first friend. I was eager to help him out. And because I have a soft spot for younger people, I tend to be overly friendly. Enthusiastic, lots of laughter, friendly, and cute emojis. It’s almost a habit, because it was a way for me to lower the pressure of “talking to a senior” (in Korean culture, people are sometimes intimidated by older people due to “superiority”), and I always wanted to eliminate that. Even in volunteering and mentorship / leadership programs. So being goofy, bubbly, and friendly always seemed to help. Either way, I did not think of him anything more than a younger friend to help out and chat with time to time.
However, George sent my boyfriend a follow request. I think George sends follow requests to anyone who has mutuals (his account was also new). My boyfriend saw that they had mutual, including me. I never mentioned about George to my boyfriend before. Because I thought it wasn’t necessary information. George and I met twice, which was before my boyfriend and I started dating. And I’ve never met him once more.
And my boyfriend asked “have you met George before” and I said yes. And then he asked “how often do you message each other” and I said “about a few every two weeks(?)”.
My boyfriend felt heartbroken. He said that on our first meeting, I said that I’ve never met anyone through Instagram before. To be honest, I don’t recall saying that. But even if I did say that, it’s odd because I have no reason to hide that information. Perhaps I did say no, but I also don’t remember. But my boyfriend felt heartbroken because he thinks I lied.
He also felt heartbroken because the more he asked me questions about what kind of messages I get, who I talk to, what happens etc, the more information he learned about me. And he was upset because I didn’t tell him. I didn’t tell him because I thought it was unnecessary information. Why would I tell him about a random person who asked follow for follow? It just doesn’t feel important because it’s so normal in the Korean fitness Instagram community. And I was confident that it was no issue.

1. MY MESSAGES WITH GEORGE Then fourthly, today, we had a conversation about this again and he said that he doesn’t know what to believe because it feels like everything I say doesn’t make sense. And that the information doesn’t align. He said that I was the person he trusted the most, but it feels like I broke that trust. He said that he wanted to see my messages with George, to see that I’m not lying to him. Initially I told him I don’t feel comfortable, because it felt like do I really need to show my messages for him to trust me? But I showed him anyways. He read the messages, and he started crying because I promised George that we could visit Niagara one day, and that I told him the same information about my day as I did to my boyfriend (ex. “I killed a cockroach for the first time today 🥹🥹🥹🥹”).

He also said that the way I talked to George was too friendly and sweet, like a couple. We have said good morning and goodnight sometimes, and our messages are expressive like hehehhehehe hahahaha oooooo wow!!!! Great!!! Amazing~~~! Good luck with your test youll do great!! ☺️😊 That sort of way.
But I talk like that with a lot of people. And again, I have a soft spot for younger folks, especially those who are on their own in a new city. I’ve always been surrounded by very generous people willing to share their time, and accompany them on certain things. But for my boyfriend, he said “why are you so sweet to him? Why are you planning a trip to Niagara with him? You said you message once every two weeks, but you guys message almost everyday. Why would you lie and hide about that?”
I’ll be honest, I miscalculated. As dumb as it might sound, my brain just didn’t think that deeply into it. During my Korea trip (which ended a few days ago) I didn’t reply to George that much. And there are times I don’t message for like a whole week or two. So in my head, I thought it was every few weeks. I genuinely thought that. I wasn’t hiding it at all, but that’s just how I remembered it, because that was how it was most recently. Why would I tell my boyfriend how often I used to message and how it changed and how it is now? It felt like unnecessary information. And it changes every time, so I just gave the most recent most remembered thing. Everything else felt like extra information.
He was very very very heartbroken and it breaks my heart that he’s so hurt because of my actions. People think I’m smart, but I can be totally dumb sometimes. Like truly. My brain just doesn’t process certain things well enough.
I think these series of unfortunate misunderstandings led to him thinking I was being unfaithful. He said that if we broke up, guaranteed I would date George.
No way. At all. Ever. No offence to George, but I truly truly wouldn’t.
Perhaps I could’ve been more communicative and open about people I talk to. But what is the balance of sharing because I can, versus sharing because I feel like I have to? And how much information is too much information? I’m the type to share what I personally think is important. Everything else feels extra. No one was ever curious about these things in my life before, so I always thought other things were unimportant to share.
I also didn’t mean to hide anything at all. My brain is just dumb and doesn’t remember things well. And doesn’t calculate well either.
As well, as much as I enjoy helping people and volunteering / mentoring visa students, this was not such a setting and I shouldn’t have been so friendly with George like that, especially while dating. I acknowledge that and it truly is my mistake. I was shortsighted, and although my intentions were good I didn’t think ahead on how this could affect my relationship. Or how it could cause misunderstandings.
I want to talk to my boyfriend about this, but I also feel like he won’t believe me, or that they’re excuses. Or that, nothing still makes sense. Like “how can you do this / say this without actually knowing?” Or “You say George isn’t important to you and yet you messaged almost daily”. And he was so so heartbroken and cried like someone punctured his heart. I feel really bad, but I also feel like I want to clarify.
I honestly have no excuse. I was just purely dumb. Mind blank, just say what was first in mind. That’s it. I wasn’t trying to hide. And I only see my boyfriend.
I really don’t know what to do to fix this situation.
TLDR: I didn’t share more detailed information to my boyfriend (because I thought they were unimportant) and he believes I hid it on purpose, and that I was being unfaithful.

I'm a pharmaceutical enthusiast. It's a very interesting and inviting proposal to give in to urges of viewing the body through a totally reductionist lens, just another bit of machinery that we can tweak and manage, that we can manipulate at our whim, make it serve us in the way we feel is gratifying right now. Not the way biological and environmental pressures determiner how it should react.
Unlike the biologically constrained view, this viewpoint is fun, because it feels empowering! It enables the delusion that we actually have even the slightest fucking idea what is going on in the brain and what we are doing. Now, we are creatures of habit, and that is because our body is so dead set on returning to homeostasis and is really good at it. But we are not a kitchen appliance. We don't have 5 dials and 3 buttons. The amount of cross-interactions and ways shit could possibly go wrong randomly is unimaginable. I mean, people actually just take some med and randomly die of sudden heart failure. Why? Fuck if anyone knows.
I'm not a friend of SSRIs. Antidepressants in general. They hailed in the wave of Depression diagnoses - in that causal relationship. We've been handing them out for so many decades now, yet that the production site of Serotonin was located in the gut, that was something we only found Out in the last decade. Look at our antipsychotic medication, our line of defense against psychosis - just fucking block dopamine I guess. Yeah you feel miserable as fuck without it - have some antidepressants with them. Why not go for Venlafaxine. Cause that ones fucking easy to get off of and certainly isn't a massive disruption.
Blocking Dopamines effects, that's our best swing at schizophrenia after a century still - but everyone is under the impression we already have this shit figured out apparently. Really? Did I miss the Party?
It I recall correctly, psychotic states can have a plethora of causes, and it's often difficult to find any substantial reasoning as to why they wouldn't be considered to be 'hallucinating stimuli that aren't present in material reality'.
Let's look at BPD: Borderliners are permanently parapsychotic, meaning their reality testing is impaired constantly, and they like to lose that grip entirely in a state of what is essentially a right hemisphere mini-stroke. They will start confabulating nonsensical, illogical, contradictory and straight up just untrue garbage ad infinitum, no matter how much evidence they are presented to the contrary - they will make it fit in, and they really believe in it, it doesn't vanish afterwards. Do we give those people anti-psychotics? Why not?
Neither do I know with SSRIs.
When are you clinically depressed because of an imbalance, versus should get your fucking life in order?
When is it a disorder that impairs your social life, versus you refusing to leave your god damn basement?
Maybe we should feel bad about ourselves sometimes. Our standing in society. Because here's a little secret: There might possibly be an incentive for certain industries in getting people hooked. Your bodily functions don't gain from your suffering. And it seems weird for human physiology to just have completely and utterly shat the bad so brutally, affecting so many people simultaneously with such growing number.
To go on a tangent, have you ever played a PC game and used cheat engine? There's values you can search for and change within the rapid access memory that your PC has allocated somewhere for whatever memory the game is actively constantly using. There's a lot of games where you could find the value of the level you have in some skill and change that - yet nothing happens. Actually, the number you changed is only a display number for the player, so besides being informative for you it serves no function. So it has to be some other value, maybe an XP counter which just starts at 0 and goes up to 99999999, or maybe that one is dependent on others as well. Maybe it's randomized at every playthrough which combination of values determines it? We certainly know changing the displayed number doesn't really do that much. Actually it might be counterproductive if you think you're higher in that skill than you really are, put less effort into leveling it.. That's basically SSRIs for me.
Now, higher Serotonin concentrations are clearly correlated with higher levels of.. Well that depends what you're searching for, doesn't it.
You can just take the easy route and say "Happyness". Huh. What the fuck does that mean? Because you could also say the lobster thing, say that it's very strongly correlating with the hierarchical status, which would also not be wrong. So the translation for humans seems to be the "socioeconomic dominance hierarchy" I guess? Well that's another very simple, easy, onedimensiomal concept to unpack, isn't it. So I does that disqualify me if I'm low on it? It doesn't seem to. Oh okay - correlation. It's a thing we happened to observe. So what does that mean?
Such statements and observations only maybe might make sense and be of limited use if they are used to make inferences about each other, maybe arrive at a sudden absence of correlation between relationships, but only so long as they are using using identical definitions and rulesets as their playground boundaries.
So what are these boundaries, who sets them? First, lets look at real science.
With formal sciences, we adhere to laws of the fabric of space and time, and we test for ideas, hypotheses if you might, in a way that tries to actually show we're wrong, in order to find the least wrong, least unnecessarily complex theory, that can nonetheless give us reliable capability to predict future events, allowing us to plan and strategize. You try to prove you're wrong because you can't prove anything als definitely right by "Always" being correct. What does Always mean? The next trillion tests? Until the end of the universe? Alright, see you then. It can be correct any number of times - if it fails a SINGLE time to be applicable, or completely misses the mark with a prediction it makes about the future, it needs to be revised or replaced.

In social 'sciences', we have merely an imaginary and conceptualized space, it's constraints and contents, as well as what that space deems to be in the range of normalcy. Range of normalcy... I guess we do that by what we agree is normal? Or what we're like on Average? Oh right, we are stupid and gullible.
Psychological & Psychiatric associations and doctors determine what's normal, right. Based on what THEY determine scientifically as normal or abnormal. Today you're a junkie tweaker on meth, tomorrow you might be a Performance-enhanced enjoyer of hedonistic short-term pleasure. Doctors know best. If they say you need Adderall, you're not a speed junkie - you're receiving medication for your ailment. Today you have Gaming Disorder, tomorrow it might go up to HAZARDOUS GAMING DISORDER. (I'm not making this up)
So it's a space of 'knowledge' that has as 0 external validity: Whatever is posited or discovered within this conjecture, its gotta be a result of working inside that conjecture and it's rules. That means we have to accept the premises required as existing at least, and the rules wholesale.. Because otherwise we never would've been able to discover anything about that space, it would've been a different space, one that you don't have anyone to discuss anything with. So we have a hypothetical space, and it's boundaries must be accepted as existent, if not true. But we can prove them true afterwards for the ones coming later?
No. You can try to work from within that system to say "the boundaries should maybe be here", not "the boundaries actually don't exist". For that, your have to create a new system that would contain the ones you want to disspell. Why?
Well unfortunately we need a framework to guide us because otherwise, there is nothing to find out because you can do nothing. If there are no bounds or limits to a space, then you have failed to define a space. If you define a space, then you can differentiate between what content is inside, and which is outside of its frame. You change the frame, you automatically change the space, thus you reframed, and new things might be included, others disappear, others have to be revisited (like malignant self love, narcissism revisited) and refined with whatever new bullshit was made up because a lot of people have it. Because that really is the only reason.
They have NO, and absolutely cannot ever have ANY truth-value, absolutely nothing that would allow them to ever enter the methodological realm of hard truths. They have no intrinsic value that would ever qualify them to be be user for confident inferences, deductions, statistics or anything constituting true scientific theory. This is important to know.
People that are psychotic just, in waves reporting they see Santa Claus, that wouldn't be put in as a comorbidity, right? Science doesn't work like that.. Right? Right guys? We don't try to just immediately integrate any behaviors that pop up outside of a more and more narrow definition of normal, with a more and more broad definition of mental illness, and begin to call these people sick and suffering from "pathology", right? We're a.. science?
Since deductive hypotheses are being formulated in a manner, that is trying to positivistically confirm what it has already observed upon as a phenomenon that is a distinct space of mental illness, it's already been established as a prototype. Now they just need enough same-ish results in that group, and voila: Gender Dysphoria.
This is no stance of value. But there was no reason that 'body dysphoria' could not encompass this phenomenon - but when enough people appear, then yeah. It becomes somewhat necessary, they all have the same disturbance of identity and perception. Well, not the perception part anymore, not like it used to be, with the person misperceiving. We reframed that, cause that insinuates delusion. And nobody wants to be delusional.
Also, from a profit oriented perspective, the prospect of these people.. The treatment is gonna be lifelong with a lifelong hormone therapy.. and whatnot because they are fixing an issue of identity with purely sexuality, so antidepressants and a BPD diagnosis are also for the taking.. and oh man the surgeries are treasure trovee no matter how they go.. in fact the less effective they are, the more dependent on the sector the person becomes.. Meaning more. Fucking. MONEY.
FUCK IT, get the gears turning boys we gotta get the news out: Its a distinct clinical entity, all of society is actually misperceiving them and they are born in the wrong body (every single one, otherwise we wouldn't diagnose them, obviously), evidence is one case study here.. Should be good to go!
Diagnostic criteria Tl;Dr: Unhappy in general, anxious to socialize, and have this deep feeling of being uncomfortable in your body, and especially an incongruence in gender.
I can go to a doctor now and claim all of these. It's getting quicker and quicker. Because it'd affirmative care, what fucking monster would stand in the way of the helping hand of the surgeons and endocrinologists and psychiatrists - they are your friends. Your best friends. They do science. Just let yourself be cared for. And as early as possible. Yeah.. I don't know we've been going for a while, and we are severely lacking in even these shitty studies that would have barely any value because of outside pressures and reactivity. People just get lost post surgery and especially the ones that went through with it before puberty keep not being checked up on.
Unlucky, guess it's just luck of the draw that nobody cares about whether THIS very tempered measure for a mental state that seems to sometimes subside or be tied to trauma is actually an effective treatment, you know in improving lives. I mean they gave all this affirming care these friends of us, so everyone should affirm, so better shut the fuck up. And no you're not getting funding for long term follow-up studies, actually if you try, we'll make it as hard as possible to follow up on these people by not changing their records appropriately for them to be found. I think 12 without parental approval would be a good starting age?
This is the most extreme example, but you can apply this to so many conditions and treatments. This shit is totally circular. It's begging the question. Everyone loves it because it is so awesome. It's terrible how people might not love it, so therefore we should act against such people, right?
In a perversion of science so disgusting it needs a name of its own, Psychiatry is a disgrace, and we throw Neuroscientific and Biomedical observations into the same pot with a questionnaire about 'what you feel like?' and 'how intense from 1 to 10 would you rate it?'
Depends on the context. Maybe my 5 is a hellish nightmare for others. Maybe everyone actually feels way shittier by default than it seems. Maybe seeing people happy online nonstop makes me feel like I should be happier, so simultaneously I become less happy and I would rate my happiness as lower. Sounds like a reasonable measure to me. Very Accurate too.
So now, we find out how we can get SSRIs approved and distributed uhhhmmm I mean, find out what might be wrong and how we could treat it. This melancholy of yours uhhh I mean Major Depressive Disorder you pathologically suffer from.
Olay so fuck it, it keeps in Serotonin, let's get a "measurement of the number of instances of neurotransmitter x in synaptic cleft y" in there . A physically existing amount of a defined thing in an area at a time; which therefore, given our tool of measurement has 100% precision, would have to yield as it's value a single, natural number, with a truth value of 1 (maximum) at that exact instance of designated spacetime. That is very important, because it very clearly prevents the possibility of any other value that isn't identical to have been ALSO true at the same time, so it is falsifiable. Or rather, it was - that instance is gone, the measurement cannot be replicated. Convenient for us if we maybe aren't entirely honest about the accuracy, or the method itself.
Now we did the SCIENCE THING. We got a fucking NUMBER man. That sexy, empirical, numerical value, gained by observing material reality and measuring for a quantitative value. Let's get a few more of those measurements.

We do the research on this, so we are the experts, so we declare us the authority to distinguish between expert and lunatic. on this. Also since our research is science, it has to follow good lab practice. That only costs you a few dozen million to accommodate. Nothing a cooperative partner can't pay.. provided you're doing the right kind of studies.
Also, for the last time guys, follow the science, okay? You might claim that we just see and name behaviors that are abmormal, same-ish and cause discomfort, then might claim that studying whether the people we put in the study because they exhibit that abnormal behavior we grouped are suffering from the label we gave that abnormal pattern (they are, it's bad) is a bit pointless - but trust us, we're always like "Wooooow, the result was exactly what we expected! The descriptions fit like a glove!". We may be unable to make reliable, statistically relevant predictions about the behavior of even 1 person, not even for a few minutes - but rest assured, our statistics are all corrected for, any environmental or external variables or reactivity, and I mean it's 10 people, how much more do you need, 50? Remember, we don't pathologize, we treat and care with methods, like sending you to these people that, you know uhm, talk, and all that kind of shit.. Anyway, lifelong pharmacological and/or surgical interventions are often necessary.

Our son should start at a new school after the summer holidays and is therefor testing schools. At the moment we do a two week test at one school, which is about 100km far from home. We rented an AirBnb, he is at school, I work at the dinner table. My husband is at home as we have a small farm. Stuck. I took 3 years to myself to not date anyone and focus on myself. Then I started dating. I ended up with some guy that was infatuated with me for a very long time. Long story short, I am not perfect but def one of a kind! Let's start with the looks because everybody is so obsessed with that. I have very beautiful features. I would definitely consider myself a beautiful women based off the interactions that I have with people my entire lifetime. Everybody 's definition of beautiful is different but I've never had anyone outwardly disrespect me or call me unattractive. I definitely get pretty girl privilege and I'm not saying that it's okay but it's definitely a thing.
As far as mentally, I believe I'm mentally sound enough. I deal with anxiety and depression sometimes but I believe that that's rooted from my relationship. I was a ray of sunshine and my outlook on life was just completely different before this guy. I was very optimistic, which I still am but I can feel the life leaving my body.
Anywho, I feel like we have a trauma Bond and he gets pissed and say that we don't. Sometimes everything feels so perfect and I have confidence that we are going to get through everything and then sometimes I feel like I've given so much of myself to this and I want to move on and find someone who really loves me and can speak life into me like I speak life.
I don't know where I'm going with this writing piece. I understand it's all over the place just like my heart.
I have a feeling that there is somebody out there for me that is going to make me feel safe and someone who is going to speak the life into me. For some reason I feel like I found my person, but then I feel like I didn't find my person.
So many things are making me feel like this. First thing being, he doesn't cheat but he has a very high interest in other women and he denies the s*** out of it. I understand that men are going to look but using your free time to look at women online, whether it's YouTube or Instagram or Facebook or whatever is out of control for a married man.
If most of all you look at when you are online is things that bash women, gossip about celebrities and rap then how are you going to be in A healthy mind state? It's like he's programmed and hypnotized but doesn't know it.
I do things like make sure that everything about me is top notch. I smell good, I look good, I taste good, I feel good. I'm smart. I have my education but I'm furthering my education currently.
I want to live in the country somewhere on a few acres of land. I want to run a few businesses and get my hands dirty with my husband from time to time. I want to travel again. I want to grow old with somebody who loves me. Not somebody who is so caught up in everything that's going on in the world right now that they can't focus and grow with a person who loves the hell out of them.
I feel so alone.
And everybody lies, it's so scary.
I don't want to be yelled at and I don't want to yell. I don't want to fight.
I want somebody like me. I don't desire men, I don't obsess over men and I don't fantasize about men.
I only want one man and I only want to desire that one man. I only want to see that one man. This is how it has been with him until a couple days ago when I started daydreaming about finding a man who makes me feel safe and loved. I don't know who this man is but I'm daydreaming about because it's not a specific person. I guess it's just me fantasizing about the way being loved to me should really feel.
I do things like surprise Order him lunch at work and tell the driver to tell him that his wife loves him (and they get an extra tip). You could tell that he loves it because he boasts to his coworker sometimes. I always get the stuff that I know that he likes from time to time. I love to gift and I love to be gifted. But I gift more than I am gifted.
I don't know anymore. I'm okay with being alone and I can do it, but it's so much better when you have a partner that loves you and wants the best for you and does right by you- grow with you and learn with you and be patient with you as you are patient with them.
Maybe I'm just a hopeless romantic and I'm always going to be feeling empty. I just know that I wish this or no one because it's a very sucky feeling.

I have read a lot of posts discussing this topic and watched a bunch of videos. However, I wanted to chime in with my own rationale. I have 2 reasons and the first is, it is simply that magic is not all that useful for the average citizen to pursue it. Seriously consider it, how much of magic (or at least what we think of when we think of magic) is actually useful to your random farmer or lumber jack. if you look at the DnD spell list 90% of it is not practical, it may be cool or interesting but not practical. even going out of DnD what will a farmer need to use alchemy from full metal alchemist for?
of course there are some magic that would drastically change society if they were real such as anything to do with medicine, plant growth, communication, transportation, resource gathering, ect. But unless greater restoration or rain call was an easy spell to learn and master to a competent degree so you don't fail while trying to cast it, why would you spend years not on the farm feeding your family?
one thing people bring up is being able to create things out of thin air. yes that would be a revolutionary spell, that is if that level of creation magic was A) attainable/easy to learn B) 1 man produced more in a day than 1 man in a mine, otherwise it will be economically unsustainable to have a dedicated group of wizards casting this spell from dawn to dusk C) had no upfront cost even including mana. even if it was all these things only your mom will have to know how to do it to provide for the family. I never see anyone talking about the prospects of having a family wizard. 1 child learns as much magic as possible never helping on the farm or to chop wood aside from casting spells to make life easier.
going back the usefulness lets look at some magic.
skyrim: most useful spells is restoration magic. normal farmers aren't fighting dragons
DnD: grater array of useful spells but again normal people aren't fighting dragons, plus too many spells are unattainable. also, why would you ever need to breath under water on regular basis? how often would you actually use fly for a practical reason? there are more accessible ways to get things done without having to dedicate 5 years to learning low level spells you can only cast 3 times a day in the lowest spell slots.
eragon: many people in moder day are considered illiterate do you really think they are going to get off their ass and learn the elven tongue. plus many peasantry were not illiterate because they were stupid but because there wasn't much opportunity and their field did not require it. if it was necessary to write a 5 page letter of apology to mother nature each harvest every farmer would've been literate
full metal alchemist: how alchemy affects living things is not fully understood in the show. especially when it comes to animals, and people. also things were built to last back then. the family scythe could last for 5 generations before needing to be replaced. it wasn't like modern times where your chair will start falling apart after 5 years of light use. also, in the show alchemists were more of a special task force rather than the engine that made society run. (it's been years since i watched so i may have forgotten things)
the second reason is shorter I promise.
lack of industrialization, or at least being unable to mass produce knowledge. until they make a printing press equivalent learning magic will be a long and tedious journey that will require you to leave your village every once in a while. only simple and easy to learn spells will ever get passed down to non-wizards. no need for wizard gate keeping, or nobility to control information. nobility will be the only ones with enough free time to learn higher level magic anyway. the peasantry will be casting fire bolt and dancing lights, and the nobility will be casting meteor and dawn.

To preface this post, I want to give the disclaimer that like many things, there is not a black and white answer the question. I'm writing this as an experienced tech professional, and the information provided is based on opinion.
To start with. A little bit of history..
The golden age of software engineering(and similar jobs) is over. At least for the next 5 - 10 years. I don't think this is an unpopular opinion. The reason why between the years of 2010 - 2022, these jobs exploded, was because of the boom of the internet for commercial and personal use.
This is different from the dotcom boom of 2000s, where the internet was just starting and most of the products being created were for basic things like: putting banking on the internet, putting videos on the internet, etc.
The boom in the 2010s was related to the widespread popularity of commercial and personal products. Things like Uber, Spotify, and Salesforce. With the sudden increased usage of the digital world, there were MILLIONS of companies rushing to create digital products.
However, we're starting to see the rise and fall of some of these products, millions of startups failings, and less VC funding. In case you don't know, VC stands for Venture Capital, which are basically investment companies that give money to other companies to help them grow and develop, in return for partial ownership of the company.
As the industry began to mature, successful companies started to emerge, and many more started to fail.
The present day..
Software engineering and like jobs will continue to be important, and there will be a high demands for these engineers. Nearly every company will still need a website, a place to manage their data, and people to manage their hardware. BUT.. the basic technologies they need to run their company will become more efficient. AND there will be less research and innovation because the a lot of the trial and error already occurred.
We're in a weird spot where the demand for workers is now decreasing from it's recent peaks, and the supply of workers is now increasing because of how all the benefits of being a software engineer in the past decade.
This has really unfortunate consequences for any recent graduates or others trying to break into the tech field. There are WAY more beginning career people than jobs available. Which is made even worse with the amount of layoffs there are, where mid-level employees are now having to settle for entry level jobs.
What can we do?
I have two pieces of advice for people interested in the topic, or wanting to break into the field but can't. Try breaking in from a adjacent field, where you can get some exposure to tech. Things that data entry, analytics(this can be finance, supply chain etc). Then try to learn as much as you can from the tech people at your company.
The second piece of advice. Go into a different field. Software engineering is not for everyone. You have to learn and understand some relatively complex topics, and it's becoming harder and harder to be competitive in the industry. Healthcare, supply chain, and many other industries are booming right now.
Understanding history, you can see that certain industries will rise and fall. For the near future, technology might be one of the harder careers to break into. Something like healthcare would be that's expected to grow exponentially. The average population of the world is getting older, as less and less people are wanting to have kids. There will be higher demand for healthcare professionals and healthcare technology.
Do your best to review and understand these trends, and hopefully you can create a good life and career. Best of luck!
