2024.05.15 03:35 KorahRahtahmahh DRAUGR is weak.

Im an avid jet player since bf2 and have always loved to fly instead of walk, i was very excited for the new bomber we are getting only to find myself quite unsure on what their idea was. As of now everything that moves in the air will get a lock on sooner or later, It is IMPOSSIBLE to approach a battlefied with the bomber safely because of the lack of a valid countermeasure. The first one you get is locked behind getting almost 500 kills (the cloaking device) which makes the very style of the stealth bomber they wanted to get quite unreachable to most and only obtainable after a fair share of hours. Whats even worse is that the initial loadout that you need to farm with is atrocious. It consists of a 20mm dual cannons (the only true blessing of this vehicle as theres no other way youll get kills) and an emp bomb that doest around 7 dmg on a direct hit but completely disables the vehicle (kinda lika when you are hacked). Youll get really few chances to get close enough to infantry to safely shred them with the cannons and even if you manage to hit your bombs you still need someone else to finish the job quickly enough for you to get the assist. Ive also tried forgetting all i know about jets playstyle and behave as a bomber would high in the sky providing support from afar and dipping immediately after... i guess it could work if the enemy pilots dont take a grudge on you (all it takes is a jet with heatseekers) but again, the unlockable that would make this gameplan truly shine is the JDAM which is locked behind 420 kills. The second secondary weapon you get is an ATG missile which is allegedely "equipped with warheads to deliver devastating damage"... well that is a lie as it still takes 3 hits to fully destroy any ground vehicle that doesnt know how to use any defensive system. Lock on range is also standard so good luck with that pesky Anti air sitting at the edge of the map looking at you menacingly waiting for the second you step into their fuckyou range. I'm about to unlock napalm bombs and i'll update with some thoughts on that if anyone wants.
I really see no way for any casual player to ever experience the stealth bomber experience they hyped us so much about and a truly hellish grind even for experienced players to get all the unlockables.

2024.05.15 03:33 AutomaticTeam4042 [Online][Other][Fallout 2d20] Guide your faction and carve out a place in post nuclear New York (Beginner Friendly)

New York, nicknamed the center of the universe, was once a beacon for the ambitious and talented of America. It was a bustling city filled with dense urban life. That changed in 2077 when the bombs dropped, it wasn’t only reduced to rubble but was hit with salted atomics leaving it highly radioactive. From the ashes some still clung to life and small subsistence ghoul communities formed. It's only been within the last decade that radiation has receded to liveable standards, and the city is once again seeing a return to life as wastelanders flock to its shores. These new settlers pass under the shadows of once great skyscrapers that litter the city, crumbling like ancient gravestones from the world that once was.
Up until 2290, every decade Vault 99 has been given a random list of dwellers that must be exiled and can’t be contacted until unification day. This game begins on that unification day, where characters might be vault dwellers seeing the wastes for the first time or those that were exiled returning to their ancestral home. The campaign has a faction focus and the players will shape their vault and its emergence into the ruins of New York. What groups will they ally with? How will they rebuild? What will be their moral stance?
Hey there! I'm Sandpiper, he/him, twenty, and a student. I’m looking for 4-5 players for a weekly game with about fifteen sessions planned. I mainly run D&D but was inspired by the TV show to pick up Fallout 2d20. I'll have access to any books or materials needed for the campaign. . I emphasize roleplay over combat but expect at least one combat encounter every other session. I’ll be stealing some rules for factions from Dune Imperium which is built on the same 2d20 system. The game won’t be highly lethal as the goal is to explore these character’s stories but there is always a chance for death with bad rolls.
The game is going to be start at 7pm EST and ideally be around 3-4 hours, every Thursday. I had just finalized a group today but one of the players let me know they were no longer interested, session 0 this Thursday.
We’ll be using Roll 20 as a VTT and Discord will be used for communication, so a good microphone is needed.
One of my main goals is creating a safe environment for the campaign where everyone feels welcomed, respect for your fellow players is required.
If you have any questions feel free to message me, otherwise, fill out the survey and I hope to talk to you soon! Link

2024.05.15 03:33 espresso651 Choosing Rutgers v. UNC Chapel Hill PharmD

Choosing between UNC Chapel Hill and Rutgers North Brunswick for pharmD as a high school senior. Please help me decide. Commitment deadline is VERY soon.
UNC: #1 for pharmacy, 60k estimate/yr (more accurate pricing would be $45-50k with budgeting, parents would only pay up to 35k), 6 year pharmD Early Assurance Program, Carolina Global Launch (semester study abroad with $1,000 scholarship). UNC has much more flexible AP credit waivers (if I remember correctly, there may be a 75 credit hour cap?). Non-North Carolina resident & out of state. Heard that there is little mental health advising for students. Not as big of an east asian enrollment. Heard that premed is cut throat; if academics are harder, may not have as much time for extracurriculars/clubs/research/work. Would need to do work-study.
RU: #20 for pharmacy, 25k estimate/yr (parents would pay for all room/board/full cost of attendance), 6 year pharmD program, Rutgers Honors College, No study abroad allowed for pharmacy (after discussing with dean, only possibility is Douglass Global Village for a week during spring break). Rutgers only allows 8 AP credits waived (essentially an AP bio lecture/lab). NJ resident & in state (close family, although not extremely important). Felt very overwhelmed at Rutgers. Larger east asian enrollment. Also heard that pharmD is difficult, but would not need to do work study and could have more time for extracurriculars/clubs/research/work. Am also currently in the process of interviewing for local pharm tech positions.
I am interested in going into industry or potentially clinical but definitely not retail pharmacy. Would love to get a fellowship, do research, or get an externship at a pharmaceutical company. May be interested in med afterwards but not very likely and set on chemistry/drug development/pharm for undergrad/first degree. Rutgers is also in a great place for pharmaceutical companies and I know Rutgers promotes it's Johnson & Johnson's affiliated opportunities a lot. However, UNC has the research triangle too. Finances and student debt is my main inhibiting factor; I would need to take out approx 20-25k/yr in private student loans if I attend UNC. It has more prestige, better placement into industry (according to my brief research, I could be wrong), is a research heavy school, I love the school culture, people are also generally much nicer in UNC. Personally hate how spread out the RU campus is but not a huge factor in my decision. If money was not an issue, I would choose UNC.
Can I get some input from current/former students that have experience at either school or experience with student debt? Is it worth it?

2024.05.15 03:28 rizzy8837 What should I do?

I was in the high end stone installation business for 15yrs. Moved my way up from a helper to an installer with my own van and laborer(s). Life happened and I couldn’t do the literally 5hrs of commute a day. So I left and took a job as a jobsite super for an awesome company, working much much more local than I’ve ever had the privilege of doing. Last time I worked this close to home was in high school delivering pizza. The thing is I’m getting bored and I feel like I’m taking on some of the project management parts of things. Money is no issue I’m paid well. But I’m seeing our subs do half assed work and making bank. Granted they don’t get away with the half assed stuff that much on my site. At least the stuff I catch. I’m thinking of getting back into the construction hands on again, but don’t know how to go about it. Definitely not going to work for someone else. Ideally I’d like to start my own thing. And ask my current employer if they would sub work out to me. And I’ll do their tile and stone installs. Wife isn’t to fond of the idea cause we are living comfortably and she dosnt want to risk anything. Just not sure what to do.
Some advice please

2024.05.15 03:28 AnonymousFire1337 Should I stick to a Bachelor of IT?

Hey i’m doing a Bachelor of IT ar RMIT. Currently 1.5 years in and graduate at my 3rd year. So exactly halfway.
I read through the subreddit and it seems as IT is frowned upon by the technology community, considered like a business degree and that Computer Science and Software Engineering are much better degrees and the failed ones done IT.
I chose IT because I wasn’t so sure as to what kind of tech I wanted to do. I wasn’t really familiar with CS, DS, SWE were either and I haven’t had much time to think which kind of tech degree I wanted to do since I had to pick a degree without finding out which tech I loved doing, and I feared that I chose a tech degree I loathed.
So I chose the general degree and to see which one I liked. Technology has been my passion ever since I was like 4. And I don’t intend that to change to a completely different field.
I know it’s better to get a Computer Science degree as it’s more versatile. I know there’s lots of math involved but I never had too much trouble with math, I do know it’s very advanced though.
I have done programming in Java and I hated it at first when I done it at uni because of how overwhelming it was for me and the time constraint was basically insane. But, I have retried it at my own pace with an open mind to see what I can do, I feel kind of comfortable with it and it seems a lot more enjoyable. I wouldn’t consider myself a pro I still have a lot to learn. But I can definitely understand what the code is trying to do. I know the concepts. I am very good with HTML and CSS so I guess that’s something, still need to work on JavaScript.
I have become extremely curious about Software Engineering and I found the Software Engineering Fundamentals for IT actually pretty enjoyable. I didn’t have much trouble understanding the concepts. Plus the moneys great too, I know money isn’t everything im aware of that, but I also want a job that pays very good too. I consider it important for my future.
However one other field I like is Cyber Security, hacking has been fascinating for me ever since I was a kid, I was always watching how technology worked on YouTube. I am thinking of doing a Bachelor of IT with a Major in Cyber Security. I know Cyber Security pays well, I have a relative that works at a bank so maybe I could get an internship too.
But at the same time, it seems like I fucked up because I could of done SWE or CS if I knew better.
My university has a Cyber Security, Computer Science, and Software Engineering degree but i’m not sure if i’ll end up having to do another 3-4 years on top of the extra debt. Like I wasted my time in IT. I’m starting to think that I made a big mistake.
Was picking IT the right call? Because I can’t find an answer. Sorry for the long message.

2024.05.15 03:27 Murder_Giraffe Another review if you feel like reading! From a HW art fanatic

Hey there, here is my review for who cares to read it. I am gonna keep it simple as most people have launched a lot of good and bad points! Just another nobody dropping my opinion!
Fair notice HW is more about the art sound and story to me then it is the game mechanics so I wont touch most of that.
Soundtrack: Seriously how amazing is this. If anything the soundtrack takes this home. It is just incredible to hear and mix with the older entries. Really try mixing it on a playlist it just fits so well, it screams and sounds homeworld! I use all of the HW soundtracks for my creative endeavors and this one is anther godsend. Im not sure it wa 100% made solely by Paul Ruskay, but I can not stress enough just how divine the sound track is to let me immerse fully into that mysterious far away feel so peculiar of HW.
Ambience: Ive paused this game to death so I could look at every single little detail that might be hidden. Might be a bit biased here but I love homeworld for the feeling of wonder. The backgrounds and colors now mixed with new hazy environments make me feel like I am in some mythical dream space. I wish I could express my words better but it will definitely make me wanna draw lots of new things. The megaliths might feel a bit to claustrophobic at times but holy jesus they are and look amazing. Some levels look like a piece of art, really its that beautiful and it left me mouth open.
Combat: Combat was never what I looked for in this game franchise so my opinion is a bit mute here. I do feel sometimes it goes to fast for my liking and some units might not respond so well but I think time will fix this. I do miss watching my slow lumbering ships get ready for action tough and I wish I could have some places with more distance.
Ship designs: Fellas I am a HW1 diehard fan. No ships will ever look better then the Taiidan Ships from HW1 to me :D. Now putting that aside all of the new ships look great! I loved pausing and zooming in on them.
We definitely can see that Higaaran designs have jumped technologically even if the weapon systems don't always make sense, I do think a more streamlined fleet makes a lot of sense. The fighters looks suspiciously a bit Taiidan to me and I like that we might be going full circle there..
The incarnate ships could have had a bit more divergence to them but they are growing on me already. The destroyers look like angry space fish that don't take no for an answer and I'm digging that a lot. Loved all the other little ships you see in the tutorial and campaign start. Kalaan ships were great also! Probably my favorite! I low key love the mega freighter and im happy we rammed it.
Wargames: Played just a couple. Seemed ok to me but I hope we get new fleets (id kill for a Taiidan fleet haha) Please devs?
Lore/Story: Here is where I might be a bit more negative. It starts great. It was amazing to launch from Higaara itself. SERIOUSLY people, how cool was that small part. I almost felt in DOK again and I lost some time here also. It was nice to see Higaara. I loved the Kalaan raiders and a fact that these Taiidan vassals still hate us, for me curiously this was the the cherry on the cake and I loved this little lore detail. The Kalaan captain for the little screen time he had was a great small villian and I wished I had seen him more.
What can I say. I love this franchise to death but I would lie if I wouldn't say that after this point I feel it went down hill there is no denying it. It was not what I was expecting and our main villain was really off putting, I have memed her to death (pigeon on discord, zoom call meme) but I have made my peace with it. I have seen people criticizing about Imogen and Isaac (which is your right if you feel so) but I really feel they worked well in general! It was nice to see a more inexperienced person in command and In general I think Isaac grew on me over time.
Again the Incarnate Queen leaves much to be desired and I firmly believe if we had a more ''serious'' villain in terms of being able to keep his cool and composure this would have been a nice addition to the greater hw story. I guess we got so used to the 1 liner stoic villians from before that this just clashed to much. IQ could have been vocal as she was but I wished there was more maturity. The rest of the campain was ok. Also missed the mini enemies factions that were a HW staple of the series, but i absolutely loved the Kalaan raiders and the little lore we got with them. I could go on a deep dive about the fgreater HW lore that I felt was missing but that's it there is no point for me to debate this more :D
Also I miss the animatics from the old ones. Even In DOK I missed the old style animatics but I guess that makes the older ones so much more special to me now. Didn't care much for the whole dance of personalities going on. That new CGI could have been used to showcase more wonderfull HW places :P!
My conclusion: Take a seat here because this might be a tad emotional. I love Homeworld. No seriously I know you love it also but I love it. No other game has manged to pull me so deep and I still don't know why. It was there when my life went to sh*t and it was there when it got back on track. Homeworld for me will forever be the trip I did from Kharak to Higaara. Nothing will beat 1999 child me listening to the soundtrack for the first time. My main character will always be Banana ship 1 with Karan onboard and all the colonist trays I manged to save. My vilian will always be the Taiidan Emperor and the many little battles I made to get ''home'' (and junkyard dog lol). I will forever try to save as many ships possible and every time Elson hyperspaces above to save me it still makes me fuzzy inside.
And you see I think that is my problem. Somebody else had said here that the OG HW was lightning in a bottle and It will never happen again and I believe it. For some cataclysm was the high point and while I agree its amazing I still prefer og HW. The Vaygr and Makaan felt like imposters to me, I defeated the Taiidan and retook Higaara, surely bathtub jesus wont stop me. Over time he grew on me and I made my peace with HW2 and it changes and now I do really like it. The scene with the Keeper is just engraved in me and I hum the tune from time to time without noticing. As flawed as I think hW3 story was I am happy to be back in the homeworld universe. I'm happy I finally got to see the megaliths and I wish we could have seen even more! I wasen't initially sure of it but now I am.
To finish while a lot of the criticism is fair I feel a lot of it is reaching points of nitpicking at this point. While story wise it wasent what maybe most of us wanted It looks beautiful and I would still recommend people to get it. I wish and hope that we get all the fleets (like remastered did) together for the the wargames and skirmish! And hopefully ill see another homeworld in the future.
Thank you for reading trough my poorly constructed mess of a review. Expect new homeworld drawings to come soon!

2024.05.15 03:25 Repulsive_Area9716 408 COVID to 500 is going to crash the system in the coming months.

In the coming months, there is expected to be a massive influx of applicants transitioning from visa 408 to 500, inevitably placing further strain on the system. Additionally, many of these applicants are prepared for an initial rejection, as they intend to appeal if denied. This suggests that the appeals system is also highly likely to become overwhelmed. Challenging months lie ahead for student visa seekers.
Do you think the government will implement measures against this situation?

2024.05.15 03:24 Ornery-Ad-2928 2018 Ford F150 intermittent no start no crank

I have a 2018 F150 with the 5.0 V8 Last week I noticed some no start no crank issues
The first time I was at a red light and the Auto stop/start shut off the engine. When I took my foot off the brake it failed to start back up. I put the truck in park and turned the key and it started back up with no issue
The next night (after driving several times during the day no issues) I could not get the truck to crank or start. After several failed attempts it finally just started right up
I replaced the starter and it seemed fine for a day or two… then I could not get it to crank for two days
During that time I removed the battery and had it tested (all good)
Replaced the ignition switch
Checked several fuses (no issues)
On the third day it started right up several times in a row.
Now I’m back to square one. It may crank the first time. It may take 10-20 times
When it fails to crank, sometimes there is a click from the starter, sometimes there is almost a humming sound, sometimes there is nothing. Sometimes the dash displays “Service Charging System” When it did run I tested the alternator if anything the charging voltage was too high (14.87 volts)
I am going crazy trying to diagnose this, any suggestions or recommendations would be much appreciated😪

2024.05.15 03:24 serutcurts Looking for input on a complex situation

Hello, I have had a few free consultations. However my situation is complex enough that I feel I need a sit down meeting with an attorney. That is fine but they all want to charge me for the time, so I'm looking to be as informed as possible before paying them.
Situation: I owned a business (using two llcs). My business never fully recovered after COVID and the trauma of it all caused me to get into trading which quickly became gambling. Over the last 2-3 years I lost everything and used debt to keep myself and my business afloat. I closed the business in October.
Unsecured debt: I owe 105k in personally guaranteed debt, and 60k on personal debt. I also owe my parents 80k and the businesses had another 165k of debt that as far as I know is not personally guaranteed (including a 100k eidl loan)
Secured - own a home with 205k mortgage and 235k heloc, and it's worth 800k so 360k equity. State of Pennsylvania and joint tenants by entirety with my wife Own a paid off car worth 10k and no other assets Income: my wife makes 125k. I have been freelancing and got a contract the past year making 12k. That contract got cut off unexpectedly in April so I am unemployed
Questions/issues: My wife and I based on a 6 month look back are high income, but going forward the median income in our state with two kids is just over 125k. My wife had also been on 3 months unpaid maternity leave.
So I don't qualify for 13 because I am unemployed, but don't qualify for 7 because I earned some good money the past few months.
One attorney told me to just sit unemployed for 6 months and I'll qualify for 7. Could I qualify sooner given maternity leave? I understand that takes me into the second step of ch7 means test and that's where I got completely lost. How do I figure out what expenses get deducted and which month to file? If I drove Uber and made 30k in a year and our household now makes 165k, I would only qualify for 7?
Say I sit unemployed for 6 months- and therefore have zero income. Then we are automatically under the 7 means test. Is that the best move?
In my work/field, I'm very much on commission. It can be a big payoff so if I seek out work I could make zero for some months but 25k another month. So how would ch13 work? Will I even be able to do that given irregular income? If I went and got a stable job, then would 13 work. But what if I got a bonus at work (very common in my field)? Ch13 seems like a really bad option for me unless I am missing something?
My understanding is the equity in my house is protected by my state and entirety tenants with my wife. No unsecured debt is under her name. The mortgage is under both and HELOC is hers.
And then finally, if I'm stuck in this place where bankruptcy is just not an option, what the heck else do I do with all this debt? Secured payments are $2700 a month, and childcare for two kids where I live is 4k a month. So unless I start earning 150k+ how can I deal with all this debt?
Thanks so much for the input. I feel so lost.

2024.05.15 03:21 No_Ingenuity_4990 The Revolution of Crypto Gaming: Fabwelt Studios Leading the Way

The essence of online crypto gaming lies in integrating cryptocurrency within gaming mechanics. This means that a traditional game can simply incorporate crypto as a reward method and transform into a crypto game. Some of the best gaming crypto titles exemplify this approach, seamlessly blending traditional gameplay with crypto rewards.
Crypto games can also leverage blockchain for crypto-based assets, embedding real-world financial value into gameplay. This distinction is crucial for understanding the dynamic and promising landscape of crypto gaming. Players can earn real money through various mechanisms, such as earning in-game tokens tradeable for other cryptos or winning tournaments with cash prizes.
In the crypto gaming world, players genuinely own their in-game assets. These assets are stored on a blockchain, a secure and decentralized ledger, allowing players to trade or sell their assets to others or even transfer them to other games. Unlike traditional games controlled by central entities, crypto games offer players more freedom and control over their gaming experience.
This is where Fabwelt Studios excels. Focusing on innovation, Fabwelt integrates NFTs, Play and Earn, and DeFi into the gaming metaverse industry. Fabwelt creates a gaming metaverse platform that incorporates blockchain technology into the core of high-quality games of all genres. By utilizing the finest tech of both worlds—beautiful, high-quality games and the latest blockchain technology—Fabwelt merges the gaming and blockchain industries to create unique, unprecedented gaming experiences.
Fabwelt achieves this by developing high-quality games akin to popular titles like Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto, and Halo. These games enhance gameplay strategies and fun while also offering professional gamers new ways to earn income. By combining the gaming industry's growth with blockchain technology, Fabwelt provides a unique experience benefiting both gamers and non-gamers alike.
In conclusion, Fabwelt Studios is at the forefront of revolutionizing crypto gaming, creating a metaverse where the boundaries between gaming and real-world financial opportunities blur, offering a truly unparalleled gaming experience.

2024.05.15 03:20 Ur_Anemone Why Can’t We Stop Testing Our Relationships On TikTok?

Why Can’t We Stop Testing Our Relationships On TikTok?
The latest viral theory to take off on TikTok uses ketchup to 'test' your partner.
Another day, another viral TikTok relationship test. Traditionally, relationship ‘tests’ involved things like your first major fight, moving house and planning a wedding, but in the TikTok era there’s a whole new set of jargon, from birds to forests and ketchup, which will (supposedly) help you to determine whether your partner is The One.
The latest viral theory to take off on TikTok uses ketchup (yes, you heard that right) to 'test' your relationship. Dubbed the ‘Ketchup Challenge’, TikTokers simply pour ketchup onto their kitchen counters and ask their partners to clean it up – and most of them are terrible at it. The text in a now viral TikTok by user @brooklynandbailey, which currently has 1.4 million views, reads ‘asking my husband to clean up ketchup off the counter.’ When she tells her confused husband to clean it up the ketchup she squeezed on the kitchen counter, he proceeds to do so with his hand…
This is just one of an influx of trends that encourage TikTok users to test their partner for values such as fidelity and commitment to the relationship…
All of this has got us thinking: why are addicted to testing our boyfriends on TikTok? Of course like most things on the app, these trends are pretty entertaining - and it's pretty unlikely that everyone doing them is actually going to dump their boyfriend because they didn't peel them an orange. But there is something to be said about the popularity of these tests - the hashtag #orangepeeltheory has over 30 million views on the app, while #birdtest has 8.7 million - and also why we love watching them. Because if you're anything like us, it feels near impossible to scroll past a video of a confused boyfriend struggling to clean up ketchup.
These tests could be symptomatic of our wider dating culture. Whereas before we just had to contend with good old fashioned infidelity, we now have to navigate a world fuelled by ghosting, breadcrumbing, cookie-jarring, orbiting and cuffing - to name a few. More of us, for better or worse, are meeting partners on dating apps than ever before, but it's no secret that these are designed to be addictive. In a dating culture where choice is endless and new matches are just a click away, how can we ever be truly sure we're with the right person? Perhaps these relationship tests are a way of filling that existential void, while going a bit viral at the same time.
Relationship Psychologist Dr Limor Gottlieb explains that, although these trends seem innocent, we need to be aware of the 'underlying psychological motives' for relationship tests, which can have a positive or negative outcome depending on your expectations and your partner's reaction. 'Insecure people (those with an anxious or avoidant attachment style) are characterised by a profound fear of rejection, and are therefore on the constant lookout for early signs of rejection and they resort to manipulative strategies to test their partner’s love and care,' she says. 'This could not only set their partner up for failure if they can’t meet the expectations, but moreover it can result in disappointment and ultimately feeling rejected. We need to be aware that tests are usually manipulations and can therefore foster more insecurity rather than creating connection.'
In a sign we have reached peak relationship tests, there has even been a rise in 'stop testing your partner videos' on TikTok. User @alyssiacruztherapy says in a video 'Stop testing your partner with this orange peel method. It is giving high school drama, it is giving gossip advice column, it’s very gamey. We don’t want to be playing games in our relationships, and if you set up a scenario to ‘test’ your partner, you’re doing it wrong.’
If you feel the urge to test your partner, Dr Gottlieb recommends taking a moment to understand why. 'Instead, try open and honest communication by admitting to your partner that you may have to be reassured at times,' she said. 'Vulnerability creates deeper bonding. You’re trying to find more security in your relationship and there’s nothing wrong with that if you go about it in a healthy way.'…

2024.05.15 03:20 Historical_Bar583 Is it irrational to let being "normal" sized prevent me from dating anyone who'd otherwise be interested?

Im around 5'9 so dead on average in most places, not really a drawback but not really a plus either. I hate that I'd technically be more attractive and have more interest if i was taller and i can't shake the feeling that if anyone would actually be willing to involve themselves with me it would just be them settling. I don't really care what else i bring to the table as most people bring something, if i have to compensate for not being tall I'd rather just not get involved at all. And usually people say "oh your taller than most women" maybe in an area thats highly diverse, most women i encounter are usually 5'5 or 5'7 which means they usually looking for men who are around 6 feet are taller. I literally am below their radar most of the time, and i don't want to potentially have kids with someone whos 5'3 and below so that my children can be short. I've never dated or spoken to anyone before because of this, I'd definitely tell them off so they can stop wasting my time and go for someone they'd be less likely to leave

2024.05.15 03:18 TipToeMagee Nvidia Shield TV Pro Still the Best? Any Alternatives

TLDR: Is the Nvidia Shield TV Pro still the best Plex client? Does anyone know if the Apple TV 4K and Fire TV are suitable replacements. Years ago I recall issues with the Apple TV being unable to process DTS and certain HDR maps, is this still a thing? Anyone know of an Nvidia Shield TV killer??
Rant/Problem:
After long battle with specs, compatibility, and efficiency I have finally nailed the server-side aspect of having a Plex ecosystem.
However, somewhere along the way I managed to trick myself into thinking that having a kickass server was all I needed to enjoy high-quality movies on Plex. I totally overlooked that despite being able to transcode any video, certain clients (despite being on high-end devices) cannot play the most widely adopted audio codecs in their native Plex applications (ie. Dolby Digital+, Atmos, and DTS HD/X). Unless I have a passthrough-compatible client and audio gear that can decode these codecs, I am stuck listening to transcoded AAC files.
PROBLEM:
I recently bought a beautiful Samsung S90C OLED TV. The panel is awesome and paired with a decent sound bar, this TV is the perfect living room display. However, I guess the native Plex app on this TV doesn't have support for high-res Dolby or DTS. This leaves the majority of movies transcoding to the AAC equivalent of whatever 5.1 or 7.1 media being played. I might be crazy, but I can tell the difference! Dialogue is quiet and the depth in certain classical joys of surround sound simply suck. I DO NOT have this issue when streaming the file directly via DLNA or just through the network.
To me, it seems like I definitely need a new Plex client. I know the Nvidia Shield TV Pro is the king and I am very happy with the one I have deployed in my home theatre, but would like to avoid the $200 USD expense if I can lol. So I am polling this awesome community to hear about what you guys are using in your secondary/living room setups and if there is a device out there that can come close/dethrone Nvidia's beast of a media player.
Thank you in advance!

2024.05.15 03:16 Complete-Rooster1590 Can my landlord hold me responsible for a shared septic backing up another house

Throwaway account because this is rather specific. Location-Colorado USA
Okay so my family of 5 (2 adults and 3 small kids) were renting a house on a property that also has a small guest house downhill from my home. Our landlord was renting the little house to her friend, a nice single lady who lives alone. All utilities are split 75/25 and the septic is shared.
So back in January, sewage backed up into the other house and landlord sent an emergency crew to pump and clean out the system. They discovered the blockage was caused by a large amount of rocks in the tank, believed to have been dropped in through the cleanout, which had a basic cover not childproof.
So right off the bat, everyone is thinking my almost 5 year old is responsible for the rocks. Even I thought that. It was an accident but he’s definitely capable of something like that. She sent us a message stating this kind of damage is outside of the terms of our lease and requested 500 dollars for the pump which we paid her right away. We didn’t admit fault, in fact we were adamant that we’ve never seen him playing there before, but also we felt so bad for the whole situation that we just paid her. She also had a childproof cap placed on the cleanout pipe.
Understand that up until this point we had a good relationship with her and we honestly believed we were doing the right thing. She had to have the other home cleaned out and flooring replaced, but in February she gets a new tenant in there. A single guy, kind of weird and from the very beginning he was complaining that he can still smell sewage and was getting sick from it. I think she did more work on the home, but did not have the septic rechecked. So he moves out and the house is vacant.
Fast forward to the last week of April. We are in the process of moving out and there are some small furniture items of hers that she requested we take down to the guest house. Upon getting down there, we find that the sewage has backed up again. And this time it’s worse because no one was living in the home.
So basically she’s starting all over. She pumps again and it’s more rocks. Now I know for a fact that this time it wasn’t my kids. She has the pipes scoped which showed no break in the line, so it’s believed that the rocks were still there from last time. But they also recommended she excavate to check the areas of pipe that the pump couldnt reach, and when they did that they found 2 rocks partially blocking the pipe, compounded by baby wipes or disinfectant wipes.
Now she’s telling us she will be charging for the scope, excavation and her insurance deductibles for the other home.
I’m not paying again. In my mind, it’s not my fault that that shit wasn’t fully removed the first time. It sounds like another backup was inevitable and it’s just crazy bad luck that it happened again right as we were moving out. I actually regret paying for the septic the first time.
She has two units sharing one septic system and is holding my family 100% for damage to another premises just because we have kids, and the other party is literally a personal friend of hers… I understand that the most likely explanation was my kid doing something but there’s no proof and never was.
So my question is did I screw myself over by paying for it the first time? I was trying to do the right thing and felt like I was acting in good faith, but now I’m afraid that paying for it indicates admission of liability. Please advise.

2024.05.15 03:15 Wolfdijon an open letter to collegeboard

dear collegeboard,
please free your probably underpaid workers forced to continuously advertise ap exam leaks on this subreddit and elsewhere. for every post that promises “AP WORLD leak form O” for the small price of two hundred dollars (open to negotiation!), an angel loses its wings, and the minimum wage worker currently forced to trawl through this subreddit inches closer to hurling themselves out of the skyscraper that comprises your new york headquarters.
(the new york minimum wage is $15.00 per hour. small mercies.)
the $50 in inflated crypto you receive per sad depressed student who is gullible enough to pay a user named apexamleaks__ (with two underscores) on a discord account created yesterday surely makes no dent in the vast amount of debt you have accumulated as a generous nonprofit that provides high schoolers with the unique opportunity to earn college credit as a high schooler and take an exam originally envisioned by an anti-immigrant eugenicist.
if you need donations, just ask! I have already donated over one thousand dollars to your organization and am glad to contribute more. in the future, I am absolutely looking forward to paying – sorry, donating – the small price of a mcdonald’s meal (in this economy?) every time I want to send a two page pdf to a college that may or may not even accept my “ap credit”. I am certain that this is a common sentiment among the global high school population.
also, should you disregard these suggestions and continue your ill-advised plan to ensnare the unfortunate few with a social awareness so low they beg for secure test leaks in a public forum, at least make it somewhat funny next time. collude with someone’s fbi agent. I don’t know.
and can we have subscriber rewards or something? donald trump does it. I want a collegeboard hoodie. to burn.
lukewarm regards.
(ps wish me luck on the ap rizz exam!)

2024.05.15 03:15 Rich-Engineer-5436 cheating on tests in university

Hello everyone, by the title it’s definitely not my proudest thing to ever put on here. I’m a STEM student who in highschool, has never studied chemistry and physics nor, didn’t cheat during any tests or exams in highschool. But as soon as I went university, everything plummeted I guess. I’m still 6 months ish fresh into university and am highly disappointed in myself that I have to cheat on weekly tests just to make myself feel better by passing the test. And tbh, i’m genuinely concerned for myself, because normally I wouldn’t do such a thing and i’m scared of this pressing on my grades forever.
I got asked today if i was cheating and bluntly said “huh, no?” and just went on with practicing our test. This was probably the first time in 3 weeks I hadn’t cheat on a test, and the prqctice test was nothing like the questions which made it even worse for me. I always prepared beforehand practicing the questions, but suddenly mid-test Id always blank out and freak out, thus ending up resulting in cheating.
The thought of cheating disappoints me so much, so I want to change it as quick as I can before it becomes a habit. I’m so stressed out of my mind, and the subject i’m cheating in is physics. Don’t know if that makes it worse or better, but i’m completely terrible. I try my best but I just always get overwhelmed and panic and don’t know what’s wrong with me.
If anyone has any advice which can help me, please do! I considered getting a tutor but my tutor flaked on me so… 😅 don’t know where to turn too… :/

2024.05.15 03:11 Ornery-Ad-2928 2018 Ford F150 intermittent no start no crank
