2024.05.14 04:16 sunken_angel 750mL of vodka and 100 benadryl 25mg each. I still can barely walk. How long will I take to recover?

For the bot: 120lbs, 5 foot 7, 23yo, female
I went to the ER about 36 hours after ingestion due to an inability to walk, resulting in me falling down 20 steps. I did not tell them that I overdosed so my emergency room evaluation was done based on the mechanism of trauma. I was kept for two nights due to difficulties with ambulation for pain management and n/v unrelieved with zofran, tigan, compazine, and patches. I was discharged today, still with severe BLE and RUE cramping and severe n/v.
After ingestion, I was unconscious for about 12 hours. Possible seizure activity because of severe jaw pain with no clear cause. Vomiting while unconscious; woke up covered in vomit. Soaked through multiple blankets and clothes with urine. Urine was coca-cola colored at one point. For about 12 hours after ingestion, I was extremely out of it. I fell a dozen times; I was practically walking sideways when I could stand even slightly; several times I had to crawl in order to move at all. I was hallucinating and having full conversations with people who were not there. I had blurry vision and severely dry mouth. I was dissociating, staring into space. I fell down my 20 steps multiple times, once allegedly (according to my neighbor) trying to catch myself on the railing and subsequently flinging myself over, landing on my stomach. I vaguely remember that but not really.
I finally went to the ER after I fell down while not feeling the OD effects too strongly and realizing that even after it wore off, I was not able to walk very well. I didn’t tell the ER I OD’d.
PT and OT wanted me to do physical therapy continued at home due to an inability to walk without tremors and muscle tightness. I was discharged with a walker and a cane.
They thought it could be rhabdo but said that that is not normal from a fall. I looked it up and it can be caused by a benadryl OD.

2024.05.14 02:30 ITMathNerd420 Urate crystals

Has anyone else experienced their EBF baby having urate crystals in their baby’s diapers? This first started 2 weeks ago. I thought my baby (6 month old male) had blood in his urine because it was a dark orangish color on his diaper. I took him to urgent care and the doctor told me they were urate crystals and commonly mistaken for blood and said they are a result of concentrated urine and he wasn’t worried about it. My baby saw his PCP a few days later for an unrelated matter but I brought it up to her and told her that my son eats every 2 hours during the day and gets up every 3-5 hours throughout the night to eat as well. I only drink water and drink enough that my urine is light to clear daily. So I asked how his urine could be concentrated and she just said yeah that doesn’t make sense but she wasn’t worried about it. Here we are 2 weeks later and he still has them in his diapers. It’s not every day and it’s not every diaper. It’s also a very small amount, sometimes smaller than a nickel. I took him to the doctor again today for again an unrelated matter but brought this up as well and the doctor again said she wasn’t too worried but to let them know if it persists. The only thing I can think of is my diet has changed in the last month because I am eliminating foods to figure out what is bothering my baby’s gut (at the recommendation of his PCP). But I’ve been eating healthier because of this and as I said, only drink plenty of water.
Anyways that’s the background. I really am just curious if anyone else had this experience and if it just went away on its own or if you did anything to help remediate.

2024.05.14 01:00 geometricvampire Outlying symptom?

After having several extremely intense episodes of nausea and vomiting that landed me in the hospital, my doctors diagnosed me with cvs. I have the textbook symptoms for it. Something will trigger an attack, and I’ll vomit nonstop throughout the day, unable to keep down even water. The longest attack was about three days straight and is one of the times I went to the hospital. They ran their tests, found nothing strange, decided I had cvs and sent me home after stabilizing me with a cocktail IV. After a long time I think I’ve narrowed my main trigger down to dark sodas, for whatever reason.
The thing is, I have a symptom that seems to get overlooked and I wondered if anyone else experiences this. I’ve researched it and searched this sub but I couldn’t find anything. Whenever I have an attack, my urine gets extremely dark. Like, close to black dark. It’s become the main indicator that lets me know I’m about to have an attack that day. If I wake up and my urine is turning dark, I know I’m going to start vomiting within the next few hours, and it always comes true. This happens no matter how much I was hydrating with water in the days prior. And when the cvs attack ends, my urine goes back to regular color, despite me having been incapable of hydrating during the entire attack.
When in the hospital the doctors tested my very obviously dark urine, but found nothing. One doctor even wanted to test for porphyria but that came back negative twice. So it seems to have been brushed aside, even though it happens with every attack and is basically the biggest indicator that I’m about to start vomiting. I wondered if anyone else with cvs has this symptom? Or maybe I’ve got some other condition that’s being misdiagnosed as cvs?

2024.05.14 00:22 GreatJothulhu Microsoft 3D Movie Maker & Project Caligula

Do you remember Microsoft 3D Movie Maker? A free demo of it came with Windows 95. If you really liked it, you could buy the full version on CD-ROM. Basically, you could make your own 3D movies using preset actors, props, and scenes. You could even add your own dialogue & sound effects using the computer's mic. It was such a hit that it developed its own cult fanbase.
A little-known fact is that if you go to the intro page of the talent book and type in “socrates,” you'll find a live-action featurette on the making of 3D Movie Maker, originally known as “Project Socrates" to the developers. It's a pretty fun watch, and I highly recommend it!
What I do not recommend, however, is “Project Caligula.”
I am (very begrudgingly) going to explain the process by which you can access Project Caligula. To start, you must make a movie, choosing Misty City as the scene, and the small café as the camera angle. As a prop, select the sphere, color it red, flatten it all the way, and put it under the left most table. As actors, select S'kelly and Augustin. Change Augustin's outfit to the tuxedo and put him in front of the café door, between the tables. Place S'kelly horizontally at his feet. You can do this using the adjustment tools in the part of the toolbar that is initially covered up.
Next, change the music to “Geist Evil Theme.” Select the Sound effect “Laugh Maniac" and place it on Augustin. Finally, make his action “At Rest" and have him stay like that for EXACTLY 17 frames.
Conclude by clicking “New Movie.” A prompt will ask you if you want to save your movie. Do so and save it as “caligula” (all lower case, no quotes). When the screen comes up, go to “Open Movie" and select caligula. Unlike other movies, whose preview pics are the first frame of the film, the screenshot will be a 3D graphic of the phrase “Welcome To Hell" in the font Bloody (which is not available in the original edition of the game) in front of a black background.
When you open the movie, instead of the preview pic, you will see a blood red background. Again, this is the first of many things you'll see that are not presets of the game. Clicking play will play 21 frames of the screen with an off-key version of Lacrimosa by Mozart playing on piano in the background. The screen will then spiral wipe to the actor Bongo in front of the black background for 13 frames. Then, his skin appears to melt off quite graphically, followed by subsequent layers of muscle, tissue and even organs, until it reaches the skeleton. This skeleton, unlike the default S'kelly, looks eerily... well…
…like it belongs to Bongo.
The shape, lines, and even proportions, are fitted to Bongo's unique build. The music gradually fades, replaced with a crescendo of tortured screams. The skeleton then opens its mouth and says one of the preset lines:
“Those bullies won't bother me now!”
While this IS a line attributed to Bongo, the line is distorted to sound deep and very demonic.
The final thing you see is a text in front of one of the basic backgrounds from the Nickelodeon edition of 3D Movie Maker. The front is hard to read, not only because the color almost completely blends in with the background, but also because it's in a strange font. When translated, it reads:
“Let all those who see this film beware! For whosoever seeks to make it their own shall suffer a fate worse than death.”
I had heard about a member of the 3DMM community who did try to modify the movie, so I found out where he lived to ask him about it. When I got there, the lawn looked like it hadn't been mowed for days, and there was several days worth of mail & papers present. I knocked on the door, but no one answered.
I looked in a nearby window and saw that most of the house was covered in blood, urine, feces, and various entrails. I opened the door only to have the severed torso of the person I was seeking fall towards me. His skin was gone, as were his legs & hips, he was covered in blood, and I thought he was dead.
Until he grabbed my ankle and gasped:
“Why… why won't he let me die?”
“Who,” I asked.
“E… Edgar…”
I called 911 immediately. The doctors made a startling discovery when they examined him: A piece of his brain was missing. According to some psychologists, this part of the brain…
…alerts the body when it dies.
As to the identity of Edgar, according to my research, he was apparently a programmer for Microsoft working on Project Socrates. He was fired for making horrifically graphic movies and later committed suicide. His suicide note read:
“You'll regret this."
I know I did...

2024.05.13 20:47 Dear-Ad-8289 Discover the Power of L-Glutathione: Your Ultimate Antioxidant Supplement

In the bustling world of health and wellness, antioxidants play a pivotal role, and among them, L-Glutathione stands out as a "master antioxidant." Often overlooked in everyday dietary discussions, L-Glutathione is a compound that offers numerous health benefits, ranging from detoxification to skin health and immune support. If you're looking to boost your health regime, understanding and incorporating L-Glutathione could be a game-changer. Here’s why you should consider adding our L-Glutathione supplement to your daily routine.

What is L-Glutathione?

L-Glutathione is a tripeptide composed of three amino acids: glutamine, cysteine, and glycine. It is naturally produced by the liver and is involved in many body processes, including tissue building and repair, making chemicals and proteins needed in the body, and immune system function. It is also present in many fruits, vegetables, and meats. However, dietary consumption often falls short of the therapeutic levels needed for significant health impacts, which is where supplementation comes in.

Benefits of L-Glutathione

Powerful Detoxification: L-Glutathione plays a critical role in detoxifying harmful substances in the liver. It works by binding to toxins and facilitating their excretion via bile and urine. This detoxifying effect is crucial for preventing liver and kidney damage, managing side effects of chemotherapy, and overall health maintenance.
Enhances Immune Function: By protecting cell mitochondria and reducing oxidative stress, L-Glutathione strengthens the immune system. It aids in the proliferation of lymphocytes, which are cells crucial for your body’s immune response, ensuring that your body can fight off infections and diseases more effectively.
Skin Health and Aesthetics: One of the most popular reasons people turn to L-Glutathione is for its skin benefits. It is known for its skin whitening effect by converting melanin to a lighter color and deactivating the enzyme tyrosinase, which helps produce the pigment. Regular supplementation can lead to brighter, more radiant skin.
Anti-Aging Properties: L-Glutathione levels in the body decrease with age, which contributes to the aging process and the onset of age-related diseases. Supplementing with L-Glutathione can help to restore healthy levels of this essential antioxidant, reducing oxidative stress that leads to aging and promoting a more youthful appearance.
Supports Overall Well-being: As a master antioxidant, L-Glutathione supports overall health and well-being. It can improve energy levels, enhance mental clarity, reduce inflammation, and help manage symptoms of conditions like Parkinson's disease and ulcerative colitis.

Why Choose Our L-Glutathione Supplement?

Our L-Glutathione supplement is formulated with the highest quality ingredients to ensure optimal absorption and effectiveness. It's manufactured under strict quality control standards to provide you with a reliable source of glutathione that can help you achieve your health and beauty goals.

2024.05.13 19:51 Lonely_Magazine_1338 Update: negative blood test, positive pregnancy test. Dpo 8-11, brands: CB, FRER, easy@home. Full story.

Update: negative blood test, positive pregnancy test. Dpo 8-11, brands: CB, FRER, easy@home. Full story.
Posted here on friday. I now have some answers, maybe this will help someone at some point. 7/8 dpo late evening: had a small squinter on a FRER, but I didnt see much color and FRERs have a lot of idents, so I thought nothing. 8/9 dpo FMU: I had a pink faint line on a FRER! Was over the moon! Went for a blood test while planning how to tell my husband. Blood test showed my HCG was less than 2.3, so negative. Crashed hard, was sad and felt delusional for thinking it was positive. All of the tests that day had veery faint lines sort of. This sub made me aware that this was probably failed implantation and HCG is leaving my urine as we speak. Tried to make peace with it, was devastated. 9/10 dpo: had a long, busy day, many pee breaks. I had one drugstore test left when i got home in the evening, so I took it to get rid of it. I swear, it had a faint line! My husband and friend said I was insane and theres no second line. I thought maybe its still leftover HCG? Maybe I'm imagining these lines?!? Emotional rollercoaster. Ran to pharmacy, bought more random tests. 10/11 dpo (period due today): A line! No! That is a line! How can that be? Is HCG still on urine but gone from blood? No, that can't be. Took a CB digital, was negative. Okay, maybe it is line eyes. Booked an SOS time with my fertility specialist. Later that evening took a few more tests and got a positive digital. HAPPINESS AND JOY, I am somehow pregnant not delusional! Hour later, I got bad cramps. Like real bad. I started spotting brown. Was sure I was losing this pregnancy. 11/12 dpo: took two tests this morning, still cramping and spotting. Went for my docs appointment who looked at me as if I've lost it. She checked with UH to make sure she's not seeing an ectopic. She said everything looks as it should in luteal phase and she was 100% sure the blood test on friday was not wrong, as shes had no mix-ups happen with their lab so far and they double-check it. I asked for a progesterone + HCG blood test, but she only agreed to do the HCG one for now, saying to take it one test at a time and there is probably something else going on besides pregnancy. Promised to call tmrw. I checked my HCG results a few hours later online and my HCG today is 25.6! So I'm not delusional at least. I'm too scared to be happy, because I still have a little spotting and cramping aand I'm not sure if this HCG level is high enough. But for now, this concludes the story. Thank you everyone in this sub for your help and compassion! More info: PCOS, endo, 1 previous chemical, 1 missed miscarriage, two living children, TTC for 9 months.

2024.05.13 16:13 The_Soviet_Stoner Questions

My dog got into a bottle of ibuprofen on Thursday. This was not discovered until Friday. She spent 48 hours in the animal hospital receiving treatment which included fluids, and other medications. 3 Lab tests have come back in appropriate ways and the hospital was happy with the results. She was discharged home with one medication.
Since she has been home she’s been pretty tired. And she has been leaking urine when she sleeps. She was given 150mg Trazadone Friday, 300mg Saturday, and 150 mg yesterday. Is there cause for concern about the incontinence or is she still somewhat stoned and full of iv fluids?
She has urinated 3-4 times in the last 12 hours. Each an appropriate amount and urine has appeared to be clear or faint in color.
Should I make an appointment with her normal vet earlier than animal hospital asked for follow up? Animal hospital suggested follow up with reg vet in 1 week with labs.
Species: Dog • Age: 2 • Sex/Neuter status: Female Spayed • Breed: Husky • Body weight: 68lbs • History: 48 hours of ER vet stay due to ibuprofen ingestion. • Clinical signs: sleepy, and leaking • Duration: past 12 hours • Your general location: southwest USA
Links to test results, vet reports, X-rays etc. - I have printouts of the cbc panels from each of the three days. If needed I can tell you the values. But all are within the normal range.

2024.05.13 12:18 El_Shroomero Does FL change your stool color?

So, I've recently been diagnosed with Fatty Liver. I don't drink and recently stopped smoking pot, I do tend to overeat, and I used to not care about my sugar intake. I've been going to my pcp/gastro in and out a lot, but something that they haven't answered me is if Fatty Liver changes your Stool color. Does anyone else experience this? Sometimes it's a bit cloudy too... as well as my urine on and off (hasn't been like that for a few days now). Thanks in advance for your help/experience.

What is wrong with this Ficus Ginseng?
This ficus ginseng has a lot of leaves with these rust colored spots. My Mum says it’s sunburn, but I think it looks like it might be spider mites. Can anyone tell? The plant is sitting in front of a south facing window and has been there for years. Mum waters him once a week and does not use fertilizers. He does get a shower regularly to get rid of dust. Air humidity I can‘t tell.

2024.05.12 20:18 Life_Neighborhood605 Strange blackouts/maybe seizures?

I was watching a Dr. House episode where it was randomly mentioned that uncontrolled urinating is a symptom of a seizure, which made me suddenly question some strange blackouts I've had in the past.
The first time I was around 18-19 and I smoked a weed joint in the with my friend. She was completely fine, I, however, started feeling lightheaded, like I was about to black out. I she sat me down and I couldn't move, started losing vision and experiencing hallucinations. Then I suddenly felt like I had to pee and I couldn't control my bladder. I managed to regain consciousness, but I was still heavily hallucinating for about 5 minutes and peed myself. The hallucinations were that everything was changing colors and I was seeing changing shapes in my vision. Suddenly it stopped, and I was completely fine again. My friend didn't experience any of this, and she told me that I became extremely pale, my lips went blue and pupils large, and she was very scared for me. I will note that I had smoked weed multiple times before and this hadn't happened before, and I would have thought there was something wrong with the weed if my friend wasn't completely fine.
The second time wasn't related to weed, however I had just started taking an antidepressant called Escitalopram. I was taking just a half every morning as my psychiatrist recommended, and this was the third day of taking it. I was also around 19 during this time. In the morning not long after taking it I started getting a headache. I went for a walk with a friend and suddenly my stomach started hurting very badly, and my vision going black. My stomach hurt so bad I doubled over and I couldn't see anything except I think some light hallucinations again. My friend suggested starting walking again, and I had to hold on to him because I literally couldn't see where we were going. As we started walking, I started getting my vision back slowly, but everything was sepia colored at first, which lasted maybe a minute before everything went back to normal again - no stomach or head pain. It felt like it lasted maybe 5 min, but my friend said it was actually like 20 minutes and apparently there were people that walked past us with a dog, none of which I remember hearing or seeing, however I hadn't passed out completely during that time.
The third time was again randomly after smoking a joint with friends. I was around 21 years old. We were all walking when suddenly I started getting that familiar feeling of feeling lightheaded and dizzy. We we're waiting at a bus stop chatting and I could feel myself start involuntarily rocking back and forth and losing vision again. I lost vision and the next thing I know my head hits the pavement as I passed out. My friends described me getting seemingly unwell, and since our bus was coming they held me up to help me get on it and I suddenly passed out. As I got on the bus and sat down, again everything was back to normal except the pain from my head hitting the ground. Everyone else who also smoked the same joint was completely fine.
Can anyone tell me whether these events are related and whether these sound like seizures, and/or recommend some reading materials on this? I've always wondered whether they could be indicative of a neurological problem, or maybe my brain is wired weirdly so that some certain triggers could set it off? I will not see a doctor about this, as I've mentioned the antidepressant incident to two different doctors (a neurologist and a psychiatrist) and neither of them had anything to say about it. I haven't mentioned the weed incidents to any doctors and I don't intend to. I don't smoke weed anymore, I'm a woman, 5'5 tall and weigh around 53 kg. Another note - IIRC in all incidents drinking water helped me regain full consciousness.
I've done both a head MRI and EEG test and neither came back with any diagnosis or anything unusual. No family history of mental problems that I know of. Could these be just completely random? There have been other times I've felt like I start getting that dizzy, lightheaded feeling again, without something that may be causing it, so I immediately drink water, but I also don't think it could be related to dehydration.
