My journey towards my first injection of Zepbound the Friday before last started at an age earlier than I can remember. I was told that I would finish bottles twice as fast as my brother and sisters did and that was just the beginning. I can remember my first official diet at the age of 10 and can recall the allowances given by Weight Watchers to this day, 6 protein, 5 starch, 5 dairy, 3 fats, and 3 fruits, with unlimited servings of vegetables. At the time this was the accepted way of doing things and the family followed this plan together. We would calculate these portions and buy frozen meals that had these values written on the side. I never would have known that this would be the start of a lifelong battle, where I was accepted and validated while losing weight, dismissed and ridiculed when I wasn’t. In my house weight loss was looked at as a matter of willpower and my father would take me to the grocery store where we would open the bakery cabinet and breathe in the scents of the muffins, brownies, and other pastries without giving in the the temptation of eating any of them. The yo-yoing of my weight started then and continued through 5 years ago, when I was larger than ever and found my way to a weight loss clinic that restricted calories down to 800 a day before building back up over time, mostly through the use of bars and shakes, alongside a meal of protein and veggies. Just like in the past I was able to shed weight on command with a restrictive system, eventually losing 140 pounds, which brought me from 388 down to 248. This was by far the largest loss of my life, having had losses of 90, 75, and multiple losses in the 30-50 range. This time it felt different, but the binge eating at night came back every time I would get to the 250 range. Like clockwork I would creep up and the nurse practitioner would ask if I wanted to try a medication to help and instantly I would take offense and lose the 15 pounds that crept back on, realizing along the way that I needed someone to doubt me, that I needed someone to not believe in me to get back on track. Through this entire journey I had told every person involved that I would be impressed if they could help me keep myself within a 15 pound range for over a year. This method came close but it was always 15 up and 15 down, cycling nearly every other month. This epiphany was met with curiosity and I eventually was referred to a mindful nutritionist that focused on talking through my binge eating issues and removing the good vs. bad labels that I placed on each food my entire life as it relates to food. It took some time to get on their calendar and by then I had risen to 270 pounds. I started this new part of the journey barely eating any real foods and over time I incorporated foods into my life, while removing the labels associated with them. My weight crept up, but I knew this was part of the plan as I judged less and shamed myself even less. I knew this as I had taken up zen meditation over the past few years and along the way I noticed a voice in my head, that voice used my mother’s nickname for me and whenever clothes started to tighten I would hear this admonition, and then one day I realized that I was saying these shame ridden insult out loud to myself. Over the course of a year I reduced my binge eating considerably and accepted more foods into my life. I also noticed that I would often tell my children that “I couldn’t be trusted” with his food and that food and over time I stopped doing these things, both to my benefit and their’s, as the parentification wasn’t good for either of us. Despite all of this I still continued to see the numbers climb, but didn’t weigh myself and felt better than I ever had at such a high weight. As I went past the 300 mark the guilt wasn’t there and the shame was lessened to a a degree I couldn’t imagine. Along this path I believed that the more self acceptance I could show, the less shame I would feel, and in turn I would eat only one hungry, at least eventually. My weight stabilized and I thought I was in my way,but my clothes kept getting tighter, bit by bit over time. At my next physical my doctor looked at my weight and immediately went to suggesting medication. As I tried to explain my work with my nutritionist he was dismissive and kept referring to the work I was doing as being on a diet, which I had refused to do. I was incorporating all foods in my life while not binging and although I physically didn’t feel great, I was proud of the mental place I was in. It was at this time that I began a 4-5 month dialogue between my doctor and my nutritionist. Talking about my goals, fears, and everything in between. I had become comfortable in a bigger body and accepting of it, however I was starting to notice the effect on my psyche, especially at work when I had to present and speak publicly or on camera. I came to the conclusion that I just wanted to be able to exercise regularly and buy clothes at a regular store, staying at XXL sizes or below. My nutritionist was along for the ride and while she never had a patient on Zepbound her approval meant the world to me as I had my doctor place the prescription in at the pharmacy. It was another 2 months before I asked them to fill it and I eventually had it delivered and in my fridge. I had been dismissive of everyone who had bariatric surgery and other interventions, for they didn’t have the “willpower” that I had to lose weight on command. Swallowing my pride I injected myself 11 days ago not knowing what to expect. The injection instead served as admission that I was no better than anyone else and that I could accept medical intervention for something that I just couldn’t solve in any way. After the injection I experienced a profound moment where I went to the pantry prior to a Zoom panel discussion that would have 400 people on it. In this moment I realized that I always came here prior to speaking publicly, it his time was different. I realized I wasn’t hungry and I also realized that my anxiety was lessened in a way far beyond my appetite and impulses. In the 11 days since I have come to terms with the fact that I suffered from anxiety deeper than I ever knew and this new medication made that completely clear. I now move forward hoping to stay in XXL or lower, but fearful that without this medication my anxiety will come back, with my impulsive eating right behind. I then come back to the fact that I will continue the meditation practice, exercise routine, and self acceptance tools that I’ve worked on diligently over the years to guide my path. I don’t know where this journey will take me, but I am glad that I was able to share this publicly for the first time here on Reddit

I'm a long-time player who joined before the NG+ update. I had every perk by then and I played till my fifth NG+, cleared out the Orc Horde on Impossible then stopped for about a year before coming back with the new wave of updates - I've obtained every encounter-related achievement now and my achievement completion is at 97%, while my NG+ bonus is +1311% caps and +131,1% all resources.
These are my thoughts on what prestiges (or "legacy perks") are the best.
S Tier:

• Architecture of Titans - This building singlehandedly takes care of your wood and stone needs - including caps! - and also provides a dramatic output of tools, copper and iron. It's completely worth the 60 fame and a satisfying reward for beating one of the lategame bosses.
  
• Ministry of Interior - Like the Titan Work Area, but for gold and research. And it comes with extra population and supplies, as well as crystals indirectly through the extra professors. Only caveat is that it costs materials and supplies to build.
  
• Guild of Craftsmen - A must for the earlygame when the production of tier 2 resources is directly competing with your tier 1. It will fall off for the individual tier 2 buildings later on but it's still the first building you want to go for whenever you unlock the feudal age.
  
• Craftsmen - Tier 2 resources will be one of your main bottlenecks throughout the game, and these perks provide bigger and bigger boosts to them. After Craftsmen III it stops boosting tier 2 to instead boost natronite and saltpeter, which is less crucial to have.
  
• Shopkeepers and Breeders - This boosts tools, cows and horses. While the latter two are nice to have for extra money at the market in a pinch, it's tool production that puts this perk above other resource multipliers like Enhanced Axes and Irrigation Techniques. Tools will be a recurring bottleneck from the early game all the way to the lategame, and it's always a good idea to get more.
  
• Deep Pockets - We're here to remind you about possibly life's greatest joy of all: MONEY!
  

A Tier:

• Machines of Gods - Like a lite version of Titan Workshop focusing exclusively on tools, copper and iron. It's unlocked later and is less cost efficient, but certainly helps.
  
• Powered Weapons - This buffs your units starting from primitive spearmen all the way to artillery and line infantry. The early perks are the most important to get as they make your cheap, easy to spam units all the more effective.
  
• Enhanced Axes, Irrigation Techniques, Renowned Stonemasons - These are the best way to boost your base resources until you can afford deep runs and beat the Sleeping Titan. Worth noting that Enhanced Axes and Renowned Stonemasons lead to Woodworking and Stonemasons, whereas Grain Storage is already unlocked at the start.
  
• Regional Market - MONEY! You can think of these as a second bank. Probably the best use for your first coin.
  
• Resource Caps - These are vital for early afk play. This line starts weak but gets stronger and stronger. It synergizes greatly with the NG+ plus bonus, though said bonus also means you can just take the boosted caps from base buildings and make do without this perk. Though it should remain very relevant in your first few NG+ runs.
  
• Ministry of War, Ministry of Worship - Both of these greatly simplify core aspects of the game, army and magic respectively, with extra army cap, food cap, faith and mana. Ministry of War turns arquebusiers into one of the best units in the game, and Ministry of Worship grants extra lucky stones, and both of them come with extra jobs and population. The reason they aren't S tier is that in the lategame you can get enough army cap to clear every encounter (at least on normal) and enough mana to have all spells turned on even without these ministries, whereas the extra research and gold always stays paramount.
  
• Clever Villagers - The thing with research output is that it's not your main limiter until it is. When you have the other resources' production down, make sure to not neglect this perk.
  
• Library of Theresmore - This provides a nice boost to most ancient era resources. With 5 of these libraries you have a +10% bonus, which would've cost way more in fame if you were getting all the various Enhanced Axes, Deep Pockets, Strengthening Faith, etc. and you can comfortably afford up to 10 libraries.
  
• Monastic Orders - I agree with u/AGDude's description that "all of the boosts it provides make life just a little bit easier". It also has a lenient price scaling.
  
• Strengthening Faith - This lets you produce more mana and faith which lets you unlock spells faster. Affording an extra spell can be as good as affording an extra perk, or better. It's also a must if you like using Battle Angels or rely on Zenix Familiars.
  

B tier:

• Zenix Familiar - These are cheap, immortal scouts who cannot discover new nations and run on mana rather than gold or supplies. And they give you research. The fact they cannot discover civilizations may seem like a drawback at first, but it also means no splash screen will pop up and block your autoclicker if you've left that on the explore button (there's some exceptions, like the Forest of Markanat and the Demoness Castle).
  
• Hall of Wisdom - More or less like an extra school. Handy although Machines of Gods is a better use for your first Tome of Wisdom.
  
• Stock Resources - These are the equivalent of a few houses, farms and lumberjacks for free at start, which is an appreciated boost.
  
• Gift of Nature, Gift of the Creators - Also a small initial boost, this time in direct production. Lets you get a few buildings up faster.
  
• Rampart - Another good use for a coin. It's like a second wall that costs more but gives you extra fame every run.
  
• Enhanced Pickaxes - I find copper to never be a bottleneck and for iron to very rarely be, but it's handy to invest some points into these, especially if your army strategy is to spam warriors and heavy warriors.
  
• Fortune Teller, Soothsayer, etc. (Lucky Stone perks) - Nice to have, particularly if your strategy relies on getting that extra upgrade from luck buildings.
  
• Ancient Vault - A multi-purpose storage which unlike the rest of the category also raises your gold, research, faith and mana cap. Building 14 of them is fairly affordable and equals getting Ancient Treasury I and II + Service to Gods I and II.
  
• Ancient Treasury - Extra gold cap can be hard to come by in the early game. That said you will mainly rely on vaults and natronite buildings to get the cap high enough for the coin.
  
• Grain Storage, Stonemason, Woodworking - Grain Storage is good in the very early game where every bit of extra food counts - whether it's to send out more attacks, or to free up one worker from food production to something else. I find Stonemason and Woodworking to not be worth bothering with, as at my current NG+ level I can reach Architecture of Titans in fewer runs than it takes to unlock them, but they aren't bad per se.
  
• Elysian Field - This helps militarily even if you don't rely on Battle Angels. It's one of the few ways to significantly raise the food cap, and more stockpiled food means you can send the army out to attack more times per sitting. Besides that they have a niche use in getting the achievement for 15 Altars of Sacrifices, but that's very late game.
  
• Titanic Walls - These walls give you extra fame and - surprisingly - tier 2 resources. But due to how costly they are it's less of a "I must get this immediately" and more of a "When I'm already swimming in tier 2 resouces and fame, I can build these to get even more"
  
• Militia Recruitment - Like a second, more cost-efficient barracks with some added settlement defense.
  
• Free Hands - An average pick, not as good as others. You're better off boosting population through the various buildings you unlock progressing the game.
  
• Army of Men - Also average. The late perks are very powerful and they can help squeeze in just enough soldiers for a tough lategame boss on higher difficulties, but most encounters do not come down to ten extra soldiers and even when they do it's usually a problem of recruitment cost and upkeep rather than army caps.
  
• Battle Angel, Seraphim - Some people swear by them but I don't use these much as early game I have other uses for faith and mana and lategame they fall behind other units. It's pretty fun to summon a battle angel just to clear a cellar full of rats, though.
  

C tier:

• Monument, Heirlooms - A basically-free building at start with some minor assorted bonuses. The bonuses aren't very impactful, despite being costlier than Stock Resources and Gift of Nature, but I like to get one every reset because they need to be unlocked one at a time, so I can have the full collection when it's time for the next NG+.
  
• Service to Gods - Extra faith and mana cap doesn't do much besides affording you an extra level of the Fortune Grove (but you can just get the Fortune Teller line). It's pretty satisfying to clear the Mausoleum of Gods in one, two clicks on faith and mana though.
  
• Charism - I haven't done the actual math and whether at some point a boost to fame might be more efficient than getting the other perks to achieve faster runs, but I only grab this perk when I have fame to spare or have already bought the higher tiers.
  
• Hall of the Dead - Extra population would be handy but this building scales terribly, especially in the tool cost. It's worth to build a few, but you get far more value out of ministries, where population isn't even the main selling point.
  
• Undead Herds - Unless you like cavalry or are trying to get the 15 Altars of Sacrifices achievement, this is not that useful besides for freeing up some workers from the breeder job.
  
• Strong Workers - I hardly ever bother with resource clicking beyond my very first run. There may be some strats that involve building up a stockpile of stone, wood and food during the ancient era before researching feudalism (which removes the buttons), but in my experience in Theresmore the best use for an autoclicker is clicking 15 times on the wall button until it's built.
  
• Spikes and Pits - Uuuuh... neat to have? The best way to deal with enemy nations is by taking them out before they can even attack, and building an army strong enough to pass the age bosses is best done through the other perks. The later upgrades cost relics and buff the Juggernaut.
  
• Shieldbearer, Priest, Juggernaut, Ancient Balor - I never use tanks as the unit's purpose seems sorta defeated. They are meant to be low-attack, high defense frontliners but they are weak to shock which is the most damaging unit type and is very common amongst encounters. Shoutout to Ancient Balor for producing steel and helping me clear out the Orc Horde Assault on Deity, and Religious Colony-boosted Priests are hilarious.
  
• Coin Mercenary, White Company- Mercenaries cost only gold and die before the rest of the shock units. Canava Guard are slightly tankier (but still shock) mercenaries, White Company are offense-focused ranged units. They can accrue a respectable amount of boosts if you get all the Mercenary Agreements perks, but there are better uses for your gold, coins and fame. With that said, if you have Coin Mercenary and White Company you unlock the perk to recruit Cpt Gallard (who gives you gold) and after that you get another perk which unlocks a questline with a new building and new encounters.
  

D Tier:

• Mercenary Agreements - I just don't bother with these unless I'm trying to 100% the perk list. Mercenaries are simply too costly for me to consider.

F tier:

• Weapons of the Titan - Compared to the other titans upgrades it's a complete waste of 60 fame points. The units it boosts aren't my cup of tea for the endgame, either, as crossbowmen and heavy infantry outclass arquebusiers and men at arms once you defeat Nikharul and rebuild the fortress.

24 years old, male, white, ~6' 3'' tall, ~383 pounds, in Arizona. Currently using Fluocinonide cream for eczema, and Clotrimazole and Betamethasone Dipropionate cream for a fungal issue (I think the doc called it intertrigo? But I looked it up and can't tell if it's a fungal thing, so maybe that's just another issue, probably not relevant to my question anyway.)
I've previously received three shots of the Pfizer vaccine, twice in 2021 and once in 2022. I experienced some side effects, but nothing I'd call a major problem. Unfortunately I did get covid, I think multiple times if I recall correctly, even after the vaccinations, though I've not noticed any obvious permanent damage. To be clear, I'm not sick with it anymore.
Anyway, I'm going to a concert in October, and figured it best to get another shot sometime beforehand. However, my mother is very against it, because she has an uncle who had a heart attack after getting his vaccination.
I'm wondering, do I have a higher risk of myocarditis or pericarditis with the vaccine, if a family member also had them?
Additionally, I know the risk of heart issues are higher for the second shot than the first, but can someone confirm if they go back down, stay the same, or continue to go up, with more shots?

Hello! I posted this a few months ago, but didn't receive any response, so I thought I would try again. I appreciate any insight you all can offer!
I currently work in F&I at a small independent lot. We have a couple of national lenders (Ally, CAC) plus also a couple of local credit unions as well as one local bank. The local bank will allow us to recourse (endorse) any deal that is in line with left side (JD Power clean trade). I would say about 90% of our business is this type of loan. It is similar to in-house financing, but the loan is through the bank. We are responsible for collections and repos.
I have accepted a position at a smaller dealership in another state. They have mainly been a cash/osf lot, but did get signed up with a credit union a few months ago. They currently average 8-10 units/month. I would like to get us set up with more lenders, but the dealership does not currently move enough units for Ally, as well as, CUDL.
It seems the fastest way to increase volume is to be able to offer these dealer recourse loans. Are there any other lenders that offer this type of loan, or is my situation unique?

Alright, so long time member of reddit since the good old days, first time posting. So this morning, while attempting to unlock a phone linked to my live in girlfriend, ended up in one of what looked like many message threads that involved what most would describe as a honeypot(not sure if this is the correct terminology) essentially what looked to me like ~10 different threads with men going back and forth flirting very sexually, with the first one finding the most explicit of the content, full nudes of her, as well as plenty of non naked pictures sent to these males, most of which I have to assume that she has indeed met in person, due to the fact that she often will disappear with my vehicle to go to the casino(she never tells me this, always excuses that she is actually not at the casino, generally lying pretty badly as I am not stupid and have been in a relationship with a frequent cheater before.) Full disclosure, it is not like I completely made a real stand against this type of thing, and in fact before at one point I was complicit and gave her a picture that I had received from a female that was essentially an ass shot with lace panties on. This fact had made me I guess just assume that the boundary was set that I would most likely not be ok with this type of thing happening with real pictures of her, although that conversation was not really ever had. So now while I am a firm believer of the fact where if you feel the need to go through your significant others phone at all, the two of you should not be together in the first place. Therefore in the multiple years we have been together (admittedly, the relationship was fairly casual at some points, and some people had referred to her as my dog watcher in the past. Even I was someone who made some comments in this vein but this was many years ago now.) Generally it would go in a cycle of becoming more serious, then her doing something such as taking the car to get groceries, but disappearing for days. This fact being a serious red flag and not to mention that I basically have PTSD from my previous ex taking my vehicle to go have sex with and seemingly short(?) relationships with other dudes, which I had most definitely disclosed to her many, many times, which was a fact that was most definitely ignored, and had zero effect on her actions. It would seem a lot of the time that when things would get more serious between us, shortly after there would be something in which I would feel as a betrayal, and once again things would become more casual. That being said, I am certainly guilty of talking to other females, such as my ex, during these times. So, all of these facts, leads me to today, where I am feeling like this should be the much needed end to a series of events filled with a lack of honesty, and a general disregard on her side for my boundaries, that I have made sure to communicate. She is of course taking the stance that since I knew that she got money from guys, that I should have basically known and put two and two together. While I had definitely kept that thought in my mind, I was basically just trying to trust her and thinking that maybe she is just really good at talking, or maybe using other girls pics like the time I gave her the pic to get money from the one guy. Now, as for physical interactions, it is up in the air as I was pretty disgusted by what I saw and didn't feel like reading every word in every thread in order to see if anything physical had actually happened. There had been a recent attempt by an old acquaintance of mine to basically come onto her in I assume his car at the casino and she said she denied him completely, and that was at least corroborated by a mutual friend that I had ask the guy in a way that he wouldn't lie. On top of all of this, she has been without a job for ~6 months now and money is very tight. The money she got from these guys has in no way been disclosed to me or shared with me, while as I am currently a full time student (wasted 7 years of my life homeless and using drugs, currently recovering addict, same as her, except when we started living together she was still using.) . I was wanting to kick her out and move on when she began disappearing with my vehicle, just due to the fact that I communicated so many times what my ex had done, and how this would affect me. Basically to this day I have to more or less physically keep the car keys from her, or else she will disappear to the casino. So, my fellow redditors, is this a dumpster fire that should have ended years ago like I truly believe, or was the fact that she had gotten money from guys in the past and I was "ok" with it (with her definitely knowing that I would never be okay with her doing anything with them, just never specifically talked about the sending of explicit pics that are actually her.) She says the pics are like 5 years old and is taking the stance that that makes it better in some way and that she has never cheated on me. Sorry about the long and complicated backstory, and we have been more or less together for 4 years now.
TL:DR Girlfriend who I knew received money from males, turns out was sending nudes and overall going way further than I know for a fact that she knew I would not be okay with this, at all, this also being proven by the fact that in a similar past situation, I gave her a picture I had received in the past of a different girl, to satiate the guy, to receive money.
Also sorry about the formatting and kind of just vomit of text, my headspace is not great right now as I have also been up all night working on homework, to then now find this all in the early morning. Thanks in advance reddit. As a user of this site since its infancy, I decided that you scholarly gentlemen would be able to diagnose this situation much better than I would. Should this be over, as I truly believe, or have I just been naive and have too high of expectations?

Hello everyone. I am feeling a bit overwhelmed and I have to ask for advice. I started this journey almost 6 years ago, with minimal equipment but with a passion to create music. It's always been what I wanted to do and gradually I've been upgrading my gear and picking up experience along the way. While my productions/arranhements have marginally improved, I always feel my mixes are lackluster. While way better than my first projects, I still see that my mixes aren't up to par with other home studio music creators. I understand that it's really hard to get the professional, surgical sound that audio engineers with years of experience in professional studios get but at the same time I feel my work doesnt compare even with what other people do in their own homes, and that led me to understand that I may be lacking knowledge I didnot even know of in the field of mixing, mastering, etc. I mainly work with electronic sounds and samples. I can't seem to EQ things correctly, my masters feel unpolished and quiet and lacking dynamics. While using things such as Mid/Side processing, automation, filtering, adding other effects for color, panning, reverb and all the stuff you'd expect, I still dont find that my mixes are what I'd describe as "clean." How did you other home producers get to improve in this field? Did you follow courses? Did you read stuff online? What was it that helped you improve in the long run? What would you recommend to somebody in a case such as mine?
Sidenote, I regularly break down my favorite sounding songs and analyze their production and while that has helped with producing, I dont know if it applies to audio engineering as well.

First off, A heartfelt THANK YOU! to this sub and all of its resources (AFOQT, MEPS, interview tips, and more). For context, I'm a non-prior off-the-streets select for USSF this fall/winter (still waiting on class date but should head out between October to December). Please keep in mind this is an evolving situation, and the info may become out of date fairly quickly.
My recruiter notified me back in April that I was selected for the 13S Space Operations Officer. During a subsequent Zoom Q&A about Officer Training Course (OTC) at Peterson SFB, it was revealed that 13S is (potentially?) a place holder designation for Officer Training School (OTS) at Maxwell AFB in FY25. If you are graduating OTS during FY24 your USSF designation will supposedly be honored. Apparently, OTC is a new post OTS training course all new USSF officers will attend. Currently it is 12 months long consisting of 3 sections (4 months each cyber, intel, and space). After which, your class standing, education, needs of the USSF and job list are taken into account and the actual job (SFSC) will be determined towards the end. Important to note, there has yet to be a single OTC class. This is a brand new program to replace OUST at Vandenberg. First OTC class is scheduled to start in September. Additionally, every two months thereafter another OTC class should start. In between OTS and OTC newly commissioned 2nd LTs will be on casual status, shooting for about 45 days post OTS but no promises.

• Any thoughts on OTC being 25% of a USSF officers 4 year active duty service commitment? I personally wouldn't be surprised if ADSC gets extended to 6 years but who knows. For a 20 year career though it would be beneficial to have as a solid foundation. Plus USSF is only 4 yrs old.
• AFAIK from the Q&A the 6X, 13S, 14N, and 17X are the "main" SFSCs. Still not to sure on what that means. Little info on the engineering side and other careers.

In recent years, Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology has experienced significant growth, which has brought about an increased responsibility to prioritize the safety not only of their students but also of the surrounding community. Currently, the security at the college is outsourced to Allied Universal, and it has become evident that this approach is insufficient in effectively managing student behavior.
Over 100 community members have signed a petition (Link: https://www.change.org/p/require-thaddeus-stevens-college-to-establish-its-own-campus-police-force) requesting that Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology establish a campus police department, similar to other Pennsylvania state-owned colleges. The establishment of a campus police force would be a significant step towards addressing the pressing safety concerns and ensuring a better quality of life for all residents in our neighborhood.
Campus police would have the authority to exercise the same powers as the police in the municipalities where the college is located. They would be responsible for maintaining safety and security within the college grounds and within a 500-yard radius. Furthermore, campus police and municipalities can enter into agreements to exercise concurrent powers and duties, as outlined in the Pennsylvania statutes.

So my brother is on day 17 in the hospital. He was seizing a lot which is not normal for him. Just had a shunt revision where at PV Shunt I believe was put in. Since it was put in he’s been having more frequent seizures. He went to the ER where he stopped breathing and thank god my dad was in the room or he would have died. Took 3 minutes to revive him, he was intubated for a week. Went to Baylor Scott and White in Grapevine, TX to do a continuous EEG. 48 hours. No seizure activity. Had an LP that showed proteins in his fluid. He also had pneumonia, the flu, and what we now know is fungal meningitis. He was on trileptal. They then put him on a high does of Fliconazole for the meningitis, and also they were CRUSHING UP extended release Depakote, 500mg at a time 3 times a day. He was comatose. Barely could keep his head up. Drooling. My dad said find something else. So now he’s on a lower dose of Keppra, which he’s been on before, to see if that might still help without the side effects. He has short bowel syndrome. No colon. And 30 percent of his small intestine left, he has an ileostomy that he’s had for about 13 years now. My question is, are there neurologists in West Texas that are worth a damn and can help my brother get back to normal? Because goddamnit this inadequate care where I live, and it’s a city of 175k, is maddening.

I have been having left ovary pain, a mix of 4-10 day long periods, and sometimes late periods despite having an IUD. However my last blood draw all came back within normal ranges (insulin resistance, testosterone, etc).
I have recently been incorporating new habits. My boyfriend and I started to wake up early to go on walks before work and began shopping for healthier foods. We feel a lot better.
I am wondering people's experiences on metformin for PCOS, especially if all of the bloodwork etc was in range. Does it just regulate your periods, or are there other side effects that are lesser known?
I am excited to see how this all plays out. When she weighed me (clothed and after eating) I was already 3 pounds lighter than I was Friday morning and have been incorporating small changes for about 2 weeks now. I have such a good feeling about this.

Hello, my sweet little baby boy is in the NICU he was born at 25 weeks and 5 days they did everything to try to keep him in but unfortunately it didn’t work and I’m very thankful that he’s here. So now I know what it means when they first tell you that he’s going to have some good days and bad days in the NICU. Today I’m not processing it so well he has an open vessel in his heart which is pretty common when they’re born early and they tried to use Tylenol to close it with a 7 day round of it and it closed it from 4mm to 2.8mm but it’s still considered large. Now the next step is they’re going to try indomethacin on him for 3 days starting today every 12 hrs but they said it can cause side effects if gut issues so they’re stopping his feedings starting this evening until Thursday morning which has me in a mood he’s made so much progress with eating. He’s officially 3 weeks and 2 days old and has went from eating 2ccs to now at 24ccs and being born at 1lb and 15oz to now at 2lb and 13oz I’ve noticed that he’s gets really antsy when he doesn’t eat the reason I know this because they had to skip two feedings to give him a blood transfusion just recently but I wasn’t aware of them skipping feedings until we went up there and was told by the NICU nurse. And maybe I’m in my feelings because I don’t want to see him hungry and I know that this medicine could help his vessel close in his heart which afterwards they can finally wean him off the ventilator but it really hurts my feelings that my baby will be starving for a whole day in a half and I’m having a really hard time with this because it almost seems like I can feel his pain and I never want to see him in pain.

So, I am on the 2.5 mil since March 28 and never had serious side effects until this last shot. First, unlike the others, I felt this one be slightly more uncomfortable than a prick. I did my shot Saturday and yesterday Monday, I had cold like symptoms. I was sneezing all day and felt body aches at night. I took an allergy medicine thinking it was probably seasonal allergies. Well, today I have had the runs all day long. This had never happened before. I wonder if anyone taking this medicine has experienced a bad shot? I tell you, it's been great otherwise except this one time. I was curious to see if others have experienced this.

Hi guys, i am currently 15 and have suffered from hyperhydrosis since i was born. A few weeks ago i found out about driclor and purchased it and ill go pick it up tommorow, but i dont know how to use it. I’d say that my HH is severe because there are drops of sweats from my armpits from just sitting. Its kinda the same with my palms because they are moist/sticky 24/7.no matter what I’m doing. So my question is how do i apply it on my armpits and hands and how often and are there any side effects that i may experience in the start?

25F 130lbs Insulin Resistant After going through every loop possible I was finally able to get my hands on Metformin.
The doctor just gave me a week of 250mg and then upped the rest of the trial (3months) to 500mg once a day. I felt great on the 250! Felt light and the initial nausea went away in 2 days with a good protein based breakfast. My dark patches have lightened and i can see the hirsutism go down a bit. I upped to 500mg and the bloating, the dizziness and feeling just heavy has been weird. I started getting non stop cervical mucus. I feel and look like Ive gained weight. It’s been almost a week and it’s making me question whether people had the same side effects.
Should I try cutting the pills and taking 250mg twice a day instead? Will this go away? I see the benefits of metformin but the bloating and weight gain is making me question.

Hi everyone, throwaway account because I want to document this journey without it taking over my main account.
I’m ALMOST 24 hours in… 22 to be exact. I’ve told myself for years that I was going to quit, but yesterday something inside of me switched and I threw my vape out. I’ve been so scared to quit based on all of the negative side effects that I’ve read about, but I’ll be honest… I’m not feeling THAT bad. I’m extremely light headed (comes and goes), I’m a bit more hungry, but otherwise I’m hanging in there…
For the sake of transparency, I have had 2 pieces of 2mg gum in the last 24 hours, so this may be mitigating some of the side effects I was expecting.
If anyone is thinking about quitting, no better time than now. Will provide further updates through this journey.

I have been recently put on anti-depressants and while it did help in the first two months, helping me stay calm at work and not get too agitated. But now 4 months in, I feel like the pills no longer work, maybe even making my mental health worse... If I stop taking them, I have a double whammy of side effects from withdrawal and my ADHD + Depression... It has even got to the point that I do not feel like I am attached to any person in my life... Help?

I thought Iv heard this before, but does doing 12.5, 25, take longer to feel better with bad side effects lasting longer (but less intense) than higher doses? Something regarding the amount in your blood stream is more sensitive to the half life of the pill?
I went from 12.5 for 1 week to 25 for 3 weeks going on 4, and I feel soooooo anxious. But I I'm going back on it immediately after trying to get off of it, I went from 75 to 0 over 3 months, about 3 weeks after being off it my anxiety came back.

I barely have any symptoms. NO said my visual field was “fantastic” but that I have some “thinning” of my optic nerve. I was originally diagnosed at age 13, treated with Diamox and told to lose weight and eventually it was considered resolved. I’m 27 now, got rediagnosed when I got my own health care and my optometrist noticed swelling. My only symptom is pretty much the whooshing noise and it really only happens every now and then. Sure, I get headaches and migraines, but I’ve had them since I was literally 8 years old.
I got put on Diamox again to “prevent vision loss”and the side effects have been so bad. Pins and needles feeling in my feet and hands and face. Then I started feeling exhausted and short of breath. They did blood work and I have low CO2 and slightly elevated chloride. Now the doctor wants me to take potassium bicarbonate too and see if that helps.
I’m so frustrated. I’ve only been on it for less than a week. I’m so tired I can’t focus at work or even like, read a book or play video games. My feet get numb at least once an hour. And how am I supposed to lose weight if I can’t exercise because I can’t breathe doing regular activity???
I guess this is kind of just a vent post. I don’t remember having crazy side effects as a kid but now I’m having more side effects than I even have IIH symptoms. Wtf.

From 2019 through summer of last year I had been taking TRT. I liked certain aspects of it (energy, motivation, etc.) but it came at a price. The price was a hyperactive sex drive and intense urges and preoccupations that had me seeking out potentially dangerous encounters. Luckily virtually all of them fell through. After stopping TRT in the summer of 2023.
In the fall I decided it was time to transition with HRT, so I booked an appointment and got prescriptions for Estrogen and Spiro and started them in October. Within a couple of weeks I was LOVING how I felt. Those (frankly troubling) impulses and urges were gone. Sorry to be crude but my dick was no longer in charge, and that was a very welcome thing. My libido crashed and it was virtually impossible to become erect (and these were/are welcome things to me). It felt a bit like I imagined chemical castration would feel - and it was frankly liberating for me.
Additionally, I felt changes in my moods (more stable, less angry, overall happier), My empathy skyrocketed, I noticed my skin softening, my body hair growth slowed significantly, armpit odor changed (went away IMO) … all of the standard things they tell you. And I loved it all. Then too my delight, in late December I started to feel the tingle in my breasts/nipples that signaled the beginning of growth. My chest circumference (around the breasts) grew 2.5 inches in the first 4-5 months alone. They were painful at times, but I also noticed they were more sensitive to stimulation. Again - loved it all. (except for now I’m pretty self-conscious about having my shirt off, for any reason - but I don’t even mind that I guess).
Some other things I noticed: My sense of smell changed, I would have these phantom smells that were unpleasant at times (came and went - no, not COVID related either). I was also cold all the time (didn’t mind this, just wore warmer clothes). I’m not sure if my body fat was redistributing at that time, I think it might have been but it was subtle.
Then, in March I was feeling that my clothes were feeling a bit tighter (in the wrong spots as well as the right ones), and I hopped on the scale. I almost puked - I had gained 25 lbs since starting HRT. And I was CONSTANTLY exhausted. This is when I decided I had to pump the brakes.
From childhood I always struggled with weight and body image. When I was on TRT, I actually lost over 60 lbs over the course of a few years, and I still didn’t feel like it was enough. I knew that there was a risk of weight gain with M2F HRT, and 5-10 lbs would have been fine with me. But 25 lbs over the course of 5.5 months was a deal breaker, and this brings me to my point/questions…
I backed off the Estrogen and now the benefits I enjoyed are waning. My libido and urges are creeping back and the morning erections have returned (I actually dusted off my old chastity device, and locked myself back up, that’s another long story). My hair is starting to grow quicker, just this morning I noticed a ‘male’ armpit smell again and my moods are up and down again. Ugh!
In your experience/s is there a way to balance all of this out? I really miss/want the benefits of the Estrogen without the weight gain and exhaustion that I experienced.
I have been taking some supplements that seem to help with T levels (or at least side effects), Red Reishi Mushroom is a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor - that seems to be kind of effective for me (not perfect but it has helped), and I also take a high quality white peony supplement that purportedly promotes aromatization of T into E. These things have helped a little and weight gain has stopped - but I really miss the positive benefits of Estrogen injections but gaining more weight is simply a deal breaker. I just can’t.
Any advice? Have any of you had similar responses? How did you cope with (or avoid) the weight gain?
