(20M) After spending almost 8 months of IBD and IBS related symptoms such as bloating and flatulence, loose stools (1 - 2 BM per day, rarely 3 - 4), urgency in the morning as soon as I wake up and rarely mucus in stools, I finally had my first colonoscopy done a few days ago and the report says " Mild Inflammation at the Rectum. Apthous Ulcers at the caecum. Diagnosed - Proctitis". Biopsies were not taken.
Now I'm currently on mesalamine suppositories 2g a day as prescribed by the GI. Started 3 days ago and now I feel so much better, with little to no symptoms. The doc assured that I would be fine soon but didn't clarify that whether my Proctitis is ulcerative or not (Most of the docs in India don't clearly discuss the problem with their patients). He advised to me to avoid certain foods and over spicy things, but I pretty much convinced myself that this is ulcerative Proctitis (shouldn't have googled too much). I am planning another visit to the clinic next week to discuss with the GI.
As a part of preparing for the worst, I am trying to learn a lot more about this stuff. I have a few questions like

1. if I am on remission, how can I avoid flare ups in future ?
2. Should I follow any diet and lifestyle changes to maintain the inflammation only in the rectum or is it out of our hands ?
3. Is it okay to follow my workout routine and regular physical activities without any changes ?

All your Answers, suggestionsand related information (and a few words of reassurance 🥺 if possible) are welcome.

While I wait for a response from my clinic, I am looking for info re Lupron 3.75 mg as a treatment for adenomyosis prior to transfer. I was panicked when I saw an approval from my insurance for a period of 6 months of this injection, when my doc originally said we would use three months absolute maximum after my successful egg retrieval (which hasn't happened yet). Is this generally because they want to cover the bases for the time period of 6 months so he doesn't have to get approval again later? I can't imagine this would be safe for anyone to take that long. I also don't want to pay for that many injections if I don't use it. I have adenomyosis (the extent of it is unknown until he analyzes my MRI) but I have no symptoms.
He did not say we would use Lupron during egg retrieval. He only mentioned using it in the months leading up to my transfer, one to three times max.
I've heard this shot is the devil's juice and I definitely don't want to take it any longer than absolutely necessary.

I’m home for the summer, and only need a 3 month membership. I keep finding that annual fees and joining fees are crazy expensive and not worth it for just 3 months. I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in August 2014, so I'm coming up on 10 years. It was stage 2b, located in my transverse colon, and was all removed in an emergency surgery (I'd had a gigantic abscess and was in danger of becoming septic, had surgery to remove the abscess and my surgeon found the tumor, pretty scary to be frank). I saw an oncologist for multiple months before he finally decided that I didn't need to have chemo and was declared free of cancer in December 2014.
I have had routine checkups with an oncologist on at least a twice-a-year basis ever since, colonoscopies every two years, CT scans at least once a year, and blood tests multiple times a year as well. No sign of any further cancer.
But I'm still terrified.
I don't have insurance anymore because I can't afford it now. I make too much money for Medicaid but not enough to afford insurance. So my checkups are over. And recently I've been having symptoms nearly identical to what I had prior to my initial diagnosis--no visible bleeding, but constant gut discomfort, abdominal pain, and general feeling of malaise that just doesn't go away. I wonder if I'm paranoid or if I do have something to worry about.
I don't know what I'm asking for here. Just...empathy, I guess? Do any other survivors always--even after almost a decade--feel like you're just waiting for your number to be called again?

Hi Reddit, I'm hoping to get some advice on my career path in finance.

After graduating, I worked at Morgan Stanley for 3 years. I then decided to pursue an MBA and took a big leap by quitting my job and studying for the GMAT. Unfortunately, my score wasn't great (600), limiting my options for top/decent business schools. Now, I'm facing a 2-year career gap and some uncertainty. I'm currently pursuing CFA Level 1 (attempt 1 next week) and have the University of Luxembourg's Master's in Finance program (2 years) lined up. However, the program is quite expensive (60-75 lakhs). And I haven't been successful with applications outside of this.
I'm feeling torn about the Master's program. It's a big investment. The advice I'm getting about the European job market for finance is mixed. But, the above program, I am told, offers a 6 month paid internship. Assistance will be provided by the school
Here's my question: Given my background (3 years at Morgan Stanley, average/redundant GMAT score, pursuing CFA Level 1), what other options do I need to break back into the finance industry, ideally in a research-oriented role?
Would the cost of the Luxembourg program be a worthwhile investment, or are there alternative paths I should consider?

Currently in a dilemma of pursuing higher pay/more seniority or staying put.
My job is 100 percent remote , compensation is a bit over 6 figures and work/life balance is pretty good ( as long as I get my work done my manager doesn't care what I do ) . One side of me is saying what's the point ? Why add extra stress to my life if I don't need it ? The other side of me really thinks I need to pursue more responsibility and climb the corporate ladder . I wouldn't be as butt hurt if no one gets promoted to the next level but I see all across the organization where people in similar positions get promoted within the time frame I've been here .

So I'm completely new to trading and have absolutely no idea what any of it means. This is the 17th day my dad has been on hospice. Metastatic cancer - he lost the ability to eat solid foods months ago. Just after starting hospice, he lost the ability to even absorb the nutrients from the artificial feeding. A few days after that, he stopped getting water too. It's been about a week since he's spoken.
For four days, it was nothing but the "death rattle"--non-stop, loud gurgling. Yesterday, he barely breathed at all. That is, when he's not screaming in agony from the slightest touch, which makes changing and cleaning him even worse than it already would be.
This morning, screaming with every breath. We have to give him morphine every hour, day and night, on top of the two fentanyl patches. There is not enough medication in this world to free him from pain.
I haven't gone home (I am stuck four hours away with no car) for these 17 days. Sleeping on the couch within earshot of him. And all I can hear is his strained breathing and the roar of the O2 machine. For all this time, he's been "close," but he just doesn't die.
As far as I'm concerned, my dad has been gone for days. Now I just want him to die. I want to go home. I want to go back to work. I want to stop seeing my grandparents and step mom every second of every day for days on end. Whenever he stops breathing for 30 seconds I feel a wave of hope that it's all over, and then a wave of dread when the next breath comes. How many days do I have to do this? Sitting here, turning him, waiting for him to die with people I don't even like? I feel guilty but also I don't - I just want to go.

**This is something that has been shaking in my head that I wanted to bring up this discussion. I have no experience in this field so I am not using this as a declaration. Anyone who is in the know that needs to correct me of my reasons, please do.**
I have seen a lot of animated shows being cancelled, even if the show gets good viewership and reviews. I have seen animated movies that either don't get picked up or get released with no marketing or worse, made "generic". While live action production can have similar problems of mismanagement or getting original content or marketing, it seems animation gets it worse.
I tired to look at it from the perspective of the Studio. Let's see if these are accurate:

• THEY SEE NO GUARANTEE OF PROFIT WITH ORIGINAL CONTENT

This one is the easiest to see from the studio perspective. We all wish studios give us more original content and not cancel the ones that make it. But to the studio's POV, original content is not profitable. It is common for us to veer more towards stuff we have seen, existing IP, than to something we have never seen before. Even when we do make the original content popular, it takes a while for us to come around to it. So instead of waiting for original content to get its audience, they don't advertise it as much, or don't even bother producing it in the first place - Unless it has a well-known actor voicing or even producing it.

• THEY OVERLOOK THE REAL STAR OF THE ANIMATION

In live action, an actor can act their way into a good performance and generate popularity/revenue. With that, the studio would almost always demand a live-action actor to be the star of an animation to generate the same results. But the studio never realize that while a live-action actor can VOICE a good performance, the animators are what gives the actor that good VISUAL performance. This has been a constant fight with studios and their salary. Because they are not roles the studio can show off like a director or the actor, and that there can be many animators, the studio thinks anybody can animate.

• THE TIME SPAN OF THE ANIMATION PROCESS IS MONEY DOWN THE DRAIN

While a live-action shooting can take around 3-4 months, animating can take much longer; even longer than that if it is a movie. Even if the animation is 3D, drawing frame by frame can be time consuming. Sure a TV eam can do more than one episode at a time, but that is still a long time for the studio to wait. And if the studio has notes, a whole scene would have to be drawn again. The amount of FPS to maintain a quality animation can vary, but even if they hire a lot of animators to meet a deadline, they won't pay them that much and expect them to work longer hours a day. No wonder the studios focus on deadline than quality that they let people overseas animate without standards, or use AI to do the animation instead.
So what are ways animation can be worth it to the studios? Much of it involves social media. And most of it takes place BEFORE the animation phase. Here are my solutions:

• USE SOCIAL MEDIA FOR WORLDBUILDING

No matter if it is original content or existing IP, the creative team needs to prove to the studios that the people want to watch what they create. So why not use social media like youtube or even TikTok to share bits and pieces of the project even before the storyboard phase. They can show off the pitch video, the scenery, the people, and if possible, animate stills of characters interacting and using the voice actors to voice them. It would show off their personality, their interactions, and get the people interested in the project. Even sell merch to show the studio that people will buy it. Depending on how much the team can reveal, it at least gets people talking about something they want to see more of. And the studio will listen.

• GET ANIMATORS TO BE AS WELL KNOWN AS THE DIRECTOR AND VOICE ACTORS

We know directors and voice actors, but very few know animators. This one can be tricky, since the Director is usually the one who does the first animation and style, and voice actors have time to voice different projects. But promoting the animators would give them fans. And that would mean they are in high demand and be paid better. So to get them more respected by the studio, they would have to present themselves. Show off their abilities. See how their personalities are shown in the animation they work on. And in return, get more attention in animation projects.

• THE ANIMATION GUILD

This one is the most obvious and the most important one of all. Being in the union makes the statement about how an animator should be treated and paid. Even if the standards the union demands only raise the bar a tiny bit, it is still an important step. Even if the studio uses overseas animators, the union is there for anyone to hire and make a quality animation that can get the best results.
**Like I said, all random thoughts.**

I'm in so much pain right now. My ex broke up with me 3 months ago. Last night, I learned that he started seeing someone while we were still together. So all those times you told me you were asleep already, kinikita mo na pala siya. That time you said you were going hiking with friends, siya na pala kasama mo.
Now it all makes sense why he was treating me so bad on the last 2 months of our relationship. It was so bad that I just simply walked away when he told me he wanted to break up with me because we've been fighting a lot. Hindi na ako nag-protest. I was so tired from the relationship so I just let him go. At that time, I only had my dignity left and what little self-respect I had. You haven't heard from me since. Subclass Themes

With the darkness subclasses being based on mental states, I took the ideology of the id, ego, and super ego to be the darkness elements. I took the ego to be stasis as you are forcing your will into reality and overriding the will of others. I understood the superego to be strand. Understanding the world around you, the complexity and the conections of it all, the restrictions and necessity of reality. That leaves the id. Desires and instinct. Fantasies and dreams. Compulsions.
Another theme that had to be included was that of opposition. Strand is about creation and void is about absence. Solar and stasis, while much more complicated than fire and ice, do oppose each other in more meaningful ways. Arc is all about mobility, energy, adapting, and change. The opposite would be complacency. Sloth. Giving in to your desires.
The last requirements would be to have anti-barrier perks and anti-overload perks. This was the simplest and could be flavored in any which way, with anti barrier having some sort of buff, and anti overload having some sort of debuff.
With this I introduce Soul, a form of darkness that takes the shape of a dark red liquid. Names could all use some work.

Verbs

Seethe (Debuff): Soul seeps into enemies minds revealing their anger. Form of cc that has non-boss units attack nearby enemies. Combatants affected cant discern between friend or foe. Enemy guardians afflicted have friendly fire enabled and increased recoil. Reticles will slowly shift towards allies within ? meters.
Despair (Debuff): Soul clouds your head. Prevents any health gain during affliction. Enemies take damage over time. Ends with a burst of damage. Strong against overloads.
Wrath (Buff): Release your inner fury. Weapons are empowered dealing increased damage based on targets missing health. Capped at 35%. Strong against Barrier champions.
Envy (Buff): Enemy accuracy towards buffed targets is reduced based on distance. Closer enemies are more likely to miss shots. Melee damage received is reduced.
Harrow (Class Pickup): Soul matter coalesces on the floor in large red pools after killing debuffed targets. Enemies standing on Harrow take minor damage. Interacts with aspects and fragments. Armor charge works off time spent on Harrow.

Titan

Menacing Strike(Melee): Summon a massive maw from your hand inflicting Despair in a small aoe. Hits grant Wrath.
Unholy Soul (Aspect): Standing in Harrow puddles slowly provides health and Envy. Kills on Harrow refresh the duration and increase the size of the pool.
Terror (Aspect): Soul kills charge up a meter. When fully charged your next powered melee will deal 3x damage, have much more range, grant damage resistance, and grant Envy for a brief period. Melee charge is separate from the standard (think gunpowder gamble).
Finality (Aspect): Powered melee final blows while Wrathful refresh 90% of melee energy. Using your aerial move will slam down releasing Harrow and refilling active weapons. Costs melee energy.
Sorrow (Super): Whip around chains before tossing them at the target enemy. Enemy erupts in massive damage Despairing all nearby combatants and releasing Harrow. After a delay the target erupts again, taking damage based on the damage taken during the super.

Warlock

Dread (Melee): Shoot forward a cloud, raining and Despairing all enemies hit along the way. At max distance or on large targets the cloud lingers.
Agnosiophobia (Aspect): While grounded; press your air move to vanish, reappearing at a Harrow covered point of your choice. Emerging and departing causes a Despairing and Envious aoe. Large amounts of Harrow are released at the point that you left. Standing on Harrow gives you 100% grenade regen rate.
Mind Flayer (Aspect): Seething lasts longer on enemies. Seething enemies that die near you release parasites that travel to all unaffiliated enemies standing in connected Harrow.
Tides of War (Aspect): Activating melee will release a tsunami of Harrow in an aoe a bit larger than consecration. Enemies hit by the raging wave take massive damage and are Seethed. Wave leaves Harrow in its wake.
Beast Within (Super): Coat yourself in Soul Matter and emerge in a different form. A massive centipede with increased movement speed and trample damage. Light attack stops you, before lunging at enemies. Heavy attack is a massive charged leap. If charged all the way gain distance and release Harrow where you land.

Grenades

Harrow Grenade: Can bounce. On detonation releases Harrow. Enemies hit will leave Harrow in their wake.
Bunkering Grenade: Sticks to surfaces but not enemies. When deployed projects a ring. Allies standing within the ring gain Envy. Enemies within Despair.
Winding Grenade: On hitting an enemy or surface releases 3 bolts, quickly striking the nearest enemies in rage. Enemies hit Seethe.

TLDR

Tried to play with the new "Cue Analysis" feature, does not seem to work for me. How has this new feature worked for you?

Small background

I started DJ'ing a month ago and have gotten used to setting up hot cues and working with them. I'd say I'm pretty confident in how rekordbox works at it's core.
Now, being an AI student, I was curious to see how well the "Cue Analysis" feature works in Rekordbox 7.
I bought Core to try it out, chucked all of my songs into the "CUE analysis playlist", boom done!

How it's been going for me

So it's doing something weird, it's seemingly recognized my "A" cue point correctly, the start of the beat.
But every other cue is either in the wrong place or not something I would set ever
For reference, my normal cues:

B > 64 before first drop
F > 32 before first drop
C > 16 before first drop
G > drop
D > 32 before second drop
H > second drop

What I've tried to 'fix' this

1. Tried a smaller analysis playlist size (reduced it to 10 instead of 180)
2. Made sure that in that smaller sample size, the hot cues were exactly right
3. Tried a different song Exact same result

Question:

So, what I'm wondering is as follows: "How has this feature been working for others?"
Maybe it's just how my cues are set up, or the genre of music I play (Drum and Bass)?
