Let's not get into semantics but please, I'm sick and tired of Afghans always having to tiptoe around this notion that colored eyes in Afghanistan is common or "cherrypicked", " showing white types only". Although I DO agree that some pages especially on Instagram take it a tad too far by only posting light eyes types, this notion that 99% of Afghans are dark eyed is just simply not true. YES Afghans have a much higher rate of colored eyes compared to it's surrounding region. NO, there is nothing superior about this, but it also doesn't mean we shouldn't appreciate the uniqueness of our people. Brown eyed or light eyed, we are all the creation of Allah(swt). However, that doesn't mean we wash down people's uniqueness in phenotype, culture , traditions etc just to please the mass.
For instance, look at this thread. An Afghan gameshow contestants and look how many colored eyes were found. Keep in mind they were just ordinary civilians and I'm sure Afghans can back me up on this.

Study was also done on 761 individuals and the percentage for light eyes ( not including hazel/ dark hazel) was around 20-25%. Keep in mind most of the sample were a mix bunch like tajiks, mixed Tajiks/ hazaras, urban pashtuns etc. In my view pashtuns especially those from the Loya Paktia belt would have it at higher percentage.

There was also anthropological studies done Nuristanis, which I can't find the exact source, so I'll just pass it by, where around 40% were light eyed + mixed eyes.
Before people jump at the idea that 20-25% isn't common, it actually IS. Light /light mixed eyes popping up at 20-25% is quite prevalent among non European populations, especially when some fringe European groups get less than that percentage.
I think I have to make it clear that light eyes is much more common among the Iranic and Nuristani people of Afghanistan, rather than the Turkic and Hazara groups, even though it still occurs quite commonly among the latter especially compared to their Turkic neighbours slightly up north. Why? Well for a number of reasons but possibly due to the fact that Turkic groups like uzbeks have absorbed Indo European people's among other things like recent admixture with eastern Iranic tribes.

Let's say you make it to the case study stage. In my experience, there are three types of case study.
  1. Qualification call: The company wants you to run a mock qualification call. Here is how you do well in these. First, make sure to ask many questions. Companies pick this scenario because they don't expect you to pitch, but they want to see if you can ask many good questions. Use frameworks like SPIN or SPICED to come up with questions. DO NOT PITCH. One way to screw up this type of case study is by pitching too early or by pitching at all. Your goal here qualify and book another appointment where you promise to demo the product with their goals in mind. Side notes: Make sure to prepare a decent introduction so that the call starts off smoothly. Your biggest focus must be on the impact questions. You must understand the business impact and the personal pain of your prospect. Also check for timeline, budget, and decision-making process. Don't worry about asking too many questions. Nobody ever failed a mock qualification call by asking too many questions. EDIT: A common trap that companies set at this stage is asking you a technical question to see if you take the bait and give a technical answer. If you get a technical question, say "We will discuss the details of our solution during our next call, but I will make a note of this, so I remember to address it. Is that OK with you?"
  2. Demo call: The company wants you to do a mock demo. Make sure they don't want you to do any qualification beforehand, because usually, they do. Don't worry about getting all the details of the product right, but be ready to say "I don't know" if you get a detailed question. Companies don't want you to lie about features. If they give you trial access to the product, great. If not, take screenshots of the website and present them in a slide deck. Crucial: Always end the demo on concrete next steps, even if you have to force it. Companies want to see you understand the importance of next steps. Super important: Use case studies from the website in your demo if it makes sense. Companies love it when you do research and when you notice a case studies that fits your mock scenario.
  3. Go to markets plan and / or 30 / 60 / 90 / 180 day plan. The company wants you to prepare a go-to-market plan. After doing your research, you probably have an understanding what industry and persona they sell to. Come up with a mock cold email (rewrite one from your last job) and write a mock cold call script. In your onboarding plan, put a focus on learning the product, understanding the market and targeting an industry for outreach. Do not mention anything about inbound. Companies are looking for hunters, and anyone who relies too much on inbound will be disqualified. Nobody ever lost a sales job by focusing too much on outbound.

It's important to note that since the website was being built after our onboarding only so it was easy for us to structure the website according to the SEO strategy that we prepared.
At every stage we had meetings with the developer to ensure that there are no technical issues that will hinder the SEO growth and future and also we structured the website to be SEO friendly. We built separate pages for all the product categories and after through keyword research we added content to those pages so that the pages itself can rank for commercial keywords.
After the website was ready we audited it for technical issues(Like mobile friendliness, H1 tags, canonical tags, etc) we started focusing on the content. We wanted to establish our website as a trusted authority in the hair extensions and hair care industry in general.
Since the website was completely new, initially we created blogs(2-3 times per week) around informational keywords with low KD purely for increasing our website authority and bringing the initial traffic on the website. We have seen that usually people start stressing about approaching big websites for guest postings since the first day itself but if your keyword research and content is solid, that is not required in the beginning. Initially we focused on profile creations, image submissions, pdf submissions, internal linking in the content, web 2.0 backlinks etc and this was more than enough for us to rank for low difficulty keywords and increase our DA to a decent level so that our category pages can rank for low difficulty keywords.
Here I would like to include a tip, many times people are worried that what if the backlink that they have created doesn't get indexed. In the initial phase we work really hard when it comes to what we call as maturing our backlinks as this is the major factor for ranking on low difficulty keywords. So basically what we do is, we make backlinks of our web 2.0 backlinks itself which helps the primary backlink in getting indexed which ultimately helps with our website DA.
Also many people have been asking us in our previous posts how we structure our blog since I talk a lot about content quality, see it's not as hard and it doesn't involve a lot of research at least in the initial phase when you just have to rank on low difficulty keywords. In this phase usually what we do is study the top 5 ranking blogs on the particular keyword and make sure that we include more content and more subheadings then them. Also we try to find opportunities to include tables or charts wherever possible, we include good quality images(original if possible) and at this stage internal linking is very very important so we focus on that as well. In later stages although the basic strategy for framing the blogs remains same, overall content strategy varies a lot from business to business and requires a lot of strategizing depending on the brand positioning goals.
So after we were able to rank for low difficulty informational keywords and our Website DA reached a decent level due to our backlinking efforts, we started writing content around the fashion advice and common problems which people face related to hair in general. But as discussed earlier, we wanted to keep our brand positioning fashion centric, so even while writing about common problems we applied a positive and solution centric approach. We strategically placed internal links to our product pages in the content and tested popups with offers as well. Apart from this, we started guest posting as well at this stage. For finding websites for guest posting we used SEMrush’s backlink gap analysis tool and created a segregated list of blogs that we can reach out to based on their content quality and DA. By this time the store started generating decent revenue from ads and SEO so the client was completely onboard with reaching out to blogs for guest posting. Guest posting and overall strategic SEO application started generating a good amount of traffic for us and in 3-4 months the revenue generated due to SEO surpassed our Ads revenue as well.

2024.05.16 12:27 Obvious_Camel8924 r/AITAH for calling my boyfriend a 3 year old based off of something I did to my boss..

A few months ago I posted about how I placed a print of a coloring page on my boss's car window.
The principal at my school, my "boss", kept parking over the line into my space. I have arthritis. My boyfriend showed me a coloring page that read "3 year olds often have trouble staying within the lines. Practice first by coloring this turtle!" Yeah, I printed that out and placed it on my boss's window. My boyfriend had sent me this as a joke one day after I had complained for the thousandth time about my boss.
Update on that: I'm toughing this year out and will be transferring next school year. I wish this was all a joke.

Anyways... My boyfriend got a kick out of me doing this on a whim. I assumed he thought that it was a good joke.
So, he parked poorly the other day in front of the house that we rent together. This resulted in me having to park two blocks from our home. So, I decided to print out that same turtle coloring page and stick it under his windshield wipers.
Apparently that was NOT the funny to him. He's currently spending the night at his mother's house and needs time to think about us...
I feel so stupid for potentially ruining my relationship over a children's coloring page...

I went to the apple store to test one yesterday and when i was swiping photos from left to right, the rows of pixels moved sequentially from top to bottom. Which makes the vertical edges of the photos appear slanted when swiping between them. You can also see this when swiping app pages. Also, is it me or is the oled screen very underwhelming in general ? I know that perceived brightness for the eye isn’t linear , a 1000 nits display would only appear 25% brighter compared to a 600 nits one. But i feel like the colors and contrast in general is not improved on the new model, and it only appears slightly better when viewing photos with dark areas and shadows. Went in convinced i would buy one but got out without doing that, i feel my 12.9 inch ipad is like 99% similar to the new ones. Even when comparing screens and speed.

Any Advice is most appreciated.
Our landlord is a complete and total: insert expletive. We have faithfully finished our three years and are moving out. I'm planning right now in order to get our 4K deposit back and would like to have clearer information on return of the apartment as it was received.
Especially this "normal wear and tear" which is nebulous at best.
I'm planning to fill in and repair the walls where we drilled anchor holes for hanging artwork. But painting over these repairs is the BIG question. Even if I repaint, it's unlikely I'm going to match the paint color exactly as the surrounding walls because it's three years after entering a freshly painted apartment.
We've got some water damage on the walls near the floor in one corner which is possibly due to groundwater seepage and the disintegrating plastic sheeting used to encircle the foundation.
We've sent him emails and registered letters concerning all of this and more. We are worried because he is going to be out of the country when we leave and he claims he has given power of attorney to the real estate agent to sign off on our deposit. Can we request proof of this? He has made sport of screwing us every chance he gets and we are moving to CZ so legal action is going to be problematic and avoided at all costs.
He has multiple properties and he's in bed with his expert and repeat business. The expert he used for the move in did a report of 20 pages with 50 photos and still missed stuff. We missed the deadline to refute because we trusted the guy. Big mistake. We'll hire our own expert this time.
I've been to the advocate at the Syndicate des Locataires twice and will have probably go a third time to contest year end charges because he's also in bed with the syndic. In France/UK/US these guys would be in trouble with the law. Here, it's business as usual.

I've been typing out notes on Google Docs for a class. I have a Macbook 16-inch Pro. My numbers were working just fine before, and all of a sudden, the number four key stopped working correctly. The weird part is, I can see the space where the number four is typing, but it's as if it's invisible. It just shows up as a space. I thought it was an issue with my font color being white, but it shows being set as black, so it should be showing. I'll give an example. The next numbers in parentheses are going to count to 5: (1, 2, 3, ,5). It will not show the number whatsoever. I checked my settings and updates, restarted my computer, and reloaded my page. I don't know what else to do. Can anyone help?

Last weekend I favorited an item and got a very nice message from the seller saying she had other items in that category too if I was interested. I straight away told her I liked the item but was looking for a specific color (A), which she said she had, so I was deciding on a second item to bundle with it (B). I described what I wanted and she gave me a great option in 3 colors, which I looked up and told her my favorite. So I said I would buy those two (original item and new one) and then suddenly she tells me she doesn't have that color of A anymore. I was confused and said the one from the post we were chatting under was different, but she had confirmed to have the color I wanted. She apologized and said there was a mess up with a cancelled order or whatever, so I said ok let me look at that color in store Monday or Tuesday to decide.
I did that and realized I still wanted my original color idea, so I messaged her politely explaining and saying no thanks. She didn't message back, but I found another post with the item and put an offer in. Around the same time the person accepted the offer, she replied back saying she was able to get the color for me. Since she was so nice, I let the other person know I wouldn't be buying and told the girl I would buy from her. Before I even replied, she posted my two items on her page. Since we had been talking, I asked her what price she could do in the chat, but she didn't reply for hours. I just checked again and both items I told her I would buy have sold.
I know a seller's priority is to sell, so I understand her posting. But she has many unposted items that she sent me pictures of (like a lot in many colors). If you're negotiating a sale with a buyer that always follows through on what they say, why would you post those exact items up without talking to them first? Even item B, she had many colors (just posted another one). If she just wanted to sell the item, why not post one of the many other colors or other items in the category? Maybe it's a sign I shouldn't buy, but I'm kind of upset as I thought we had an agreement and even told her that I chose to buy from her instead of the other person as she had been so nice, but now I think it was kind of shitty of her to post the exact colors I told her I wanted. Even out of the 3 that she had suggested based on what I was looking for, she just posted my favorite. Not to mention all the other brands and products she has (that I'm not interested in but she could sell for the same price or more). Idk just feels wrong to me
