2024.05.23 07:39 kendallspepsi 2-Month SE Asia Itinerary Feedback
Hi everyone! I (26M) am going to SE Asia for July and August this year! I'm so excited. Can you please give me feedback on my itinerary?
My Travel Philosophy & Preferences
- Budget: $4k for two months after flights booked, possible to stretch to $5k
- Slow is better
- Touristy areas aren't bad, but off-the-beaten-path is preferred
- Experiences and forming meaningful relationships often trump classical "sightseeing"
- I'd like to keep the itinerary loose and flexible where reasonable
Itinerary
- July 1-4: Bangkok, with a day trip to either Phetchaburi or Kanchanaburi
- July 4: Fly to Da Nang, Vietnam
- July 5: Train to Hoi An. Spend a 5-7 days here.
- Mid-to-Late July: Northern Vietnam (Hanoi, Sapa, Ha Long Bay, and others)
- Late July: Fly from Hanoi to Siam Reap, Cambodia. Spend 7 days with the Angkor Temples.
- All of August: Open-Ended Thailand Trip (Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Pai, Kanchanaburi if not already visited, Ko Tao, Ko Pha Ngan, among others)
- September 1st: Fly back home (California) from Bangkok
Questions I Have
- What would it look like to fit Laos into my itinerary, for a minimum of 5 days and a maximum of 14 days? Is that do-able given both the rainy season (a big worry is landslides) and my travel preferences?

Anreise mit Aufenthalt in Dubai (City) Andamanensee (Südthailand, Krabi / Ao Nang, Phi Phi, Lanta) (Baden) Flug nach Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Nordthailand (KultuGeschichte) Zug Richtung Bangkok, Lopburi, Ayutthaya (Landschaft, Kultur) Bangkok (City) Siem Reap, Angkot Wat (KultuGeschichte) (Vielleicht) Phnom Penh (City) Kuala Lumpur (City) Perhentian Besar (Baden) Borneo: Kuching, Taman Bako, Semenggoh (Natur) Singapur (City).
- Andere Richtung: Sri Lanka / Malediven?

2024.05.08 15:24 sqjam 21 days in Thailand
Hi guys!
So I have been in Thailand in the Febuary this year and it was superb! Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Chang Rai, Pattaya, Koh Chang and everything in between.
I'm already planning to come again next year in January for around 21 days. This time I'm planning around 3-4 nights in BKK and then fyling to Krabi province in Ao Nang down south. So this is more like sea vacation and not so much travel around like crazy. We will visit all the "usual" activities on kayak and visiting nearby islands and beaches with boats. There is elephant sanctuary also etc...
Is there any "MUST SEE" place nearby? I am flexible and willing to adjust if there is any other place worth of my time.

2024.05.05 23:20 Constant-Biscotti List of Kitchener Verified Celebrities (WIP)
I’ve been working on a list of all the celebrities verified by John Kitchener. I’ve mainly sourced this information from Kitchener’s YouTube channel, Facebook page, and Pinterest.
Some of these celebrities I have heard about their essences, but I couldn’t find a direct source. For example, I’ve heard Angelina Jolie is 70% Romantic and that Audrey Hepburn is a Classic, but I haven’t found sources that confirm this yet.
Also, as you can see, most celebrities do not have a full percentage breakdown of their essences. For a lot of celebrities, I could only find their primary essences or a few of their essences without a percentage breakdown. For example, for Gwyneth Paltrow, he says she is, “gentle looking, ethereal, with some youthfulness, classic, and casual influences.” I took this to mean she is primary Angelic, with some Youthful, Classic, and Natural, but I couldn’t find the exact percentages.
Please let me know if there are more celebrities that are verified (with sources) that I can add to the list. Also, please let me know if any of the celebrities I have listed are incorrect. Like I said, I tried to exclusively stick to sources directly from Kitchener, but if I made a mistake, let me know and I’ll correct it.

So below is my itinerary of my trip to Thailand in July, However I only want to have 2 nights in Chang Rai and 1 night in Bangkok on my return home so stay 20th-21st rather than the 19th-21st so this allows me to have 2 nights extra elsewhere in the other places I mentioned, where do you guys recommend?
Bangkok - 5th-7th 2 nights. Chang Mai 7th-10th 3 nights Chang Rai 10th - 13th - 3 nights Phuket - 13th - 16th - 3 nights Krabi Ao Nang Beach 16th - 19th Bangkok 19th - 21st - 2 nights

2024.04.28 10:27 Clothingkid21 My Itinerary for Thailand Help
So here is my Itinerary for Thailand when I go in July
Arrive Bangkok 5th July - 7th July 2 nights Chang Mai - 7th - 10th for 3 nights Chang Rai - 10th - 13th 3 nights Phuket - 13th - 16th 3 nights Krabi Ao Nang Beach - 16th-19th - 3 nights Bangkok 19th - 21st 2 nights as I fly home on 21st of July
Im wondering if this is a good time in each location, I dont drink I prefer exploring and sightseeing. Any help is appreciated!

2024.04.24 00:24 MuriloScarpa Where to stay in Southwest Asia for a month
I'm looking forward to stay a month (probably mid-November) in one single place in Southwest Asia. Although I intend to stay in just one place, I'd like to explore nearby cities and regions.
I'll be able to enjoy a chunk of the day, as I'll work mostly during the night, + the weekends + some 7-10 vacation days.
Ideally, I'd like to stay in a small/medium-size city with lots of nature around. I'm not going to party or whatever.
My options thus far:
- Hanoi: I'd love to explore north Vietnam (Ha Long Bay, Sa Pa, Ha Giang Loop, Ninh Binh...) but I'm afraid I'm going to get tired of the city because, as I said, I don't like big cities (specially the hectic, chaotic, polluted ones);
- Da Nang: Being next to the beach it's a plus, but other than that - the city looked kinda meh to me;
- Chiang Mai: have heard that the city is incredibly Westernized now and the nearby attractions (Pai, Chiang Rai, Sukhothai...) didn't caught my attention to justify a whole month in the region (don't get me wrong: I'd love to stay there, but fell that a month would be too much);
- Thai islands: aren't they very very very touristy - in the bad way? I've heard that the most famous spots aren't easily accessible by foot, for some we have go in a boat tour while for others we must rent a motorcycle. Are there any that have a good amount of things to do other than partying and just laying back in the beach?
- I have an OW diving certification, there's any island with several diving so I won't be bored after the first 5 divings?
I'm considering Bali or other place in Indonesia, but haven't started researching.

2024.03.21 15:49 throwawaytacos67 Southeast Asia Backpacking
Hi everyone, currently planning a 6 week southeast Asia solo backpacking trip. Below is my tentative itinerary and I would like some thoughts on the amount of time, places I should skip/add, etc.
- Bangkok (3 days)
- Chiang Mai (3 days)
- Pai (3 days)
- Chiang Rai (1 day)
- Slow boat (2 days)
- Luang Prabang (2 days)
- Vang Vieng (3 days)
- Vientane (1 day)
- Siem Reap (3 days)
- Phnom Penh (2 days)
- Ho Chi Minh City (3 days)
- Da Nang (2 days)
- Hoi An (2 days)
- Halong Bay (2 days)
- Hanoi (3 days)
Outside of allocated travel days, I have about 4 days open as of now. Debating between the Thai islands, Palawan Philippines or taking it slower and adding a few days to the above itinerary/adding some non-tourist destinations, or just leaving it open entirely. Would love some insight, thanks.

2024.03.20 23:11 praying_yantis 16 day itinerary
Bangkok 1 night Chiang Mai 3 nights Pai 4 nights OR Pai 2 nights Chiang Rai 2 nights Ao Nang or Railay 4 nights Koh Tao 4 nights
Mainly looking for guidance for northern Thailand. Conflicted on Pai vs CR. I’m interested in the temples in CR but I’ve heard a lot about Pai and really want to check it out. I could take a few days out of my islands itinerary since I’ll be making my way to the Philippines as well.
Also, Ao Nang or Railay? I’m considering staying in Ao Nang and taking a day trip or two to Railay if I really like it.
For context this is a graduation trip, I’m young and enjoy being social and partying, but also want to experience the nature Thailand has to offer. Don’t want to spread myself too thin but also want to make good use of my time!

2024.03.17 19:31 Extension-Ad-1862 1 month itinerary help
Hi everyone,
My partner and I, both in our 30s, are gearing up for a month-long adventure in Thailand, tentatively aiming for November or December. We're all about soaking up culture, checking out museums, admiring architecture, and getting close to nature. We'd love your input to fine-tune our itinerary for an epic trip.
Here's what we've got so far:
- Day 1: Fly to Bangkok
- Day 2-3: 2 nights in Bangkok
- Day 4-5: Bus to Kanchanaburi, 2 nights
- Day 6-7: Bus back to Bangkok, 2 nights
- Day 8: Train to Ayutthaya, overnight train to Chiang Mai
- Day 9-12: 4 nights in Chiang Mai, including 2 days at Karen homestay
- Day 13-14: Bus to Pai, 2 nights
- Day 15-17: Bus back to Chiang Mai, 3 nights, including a day trip to Doi Inthanon
- Day 18-19: Flight to Phuket, 2 nights, Old town + Day trip to Koh Phi Phi
- Day 20-21: Bus to Khao Sok, 2 nights
- Day 22-24: Taxi to Koh Lanta, 3 nights
- Day 25-27: Taxi to Ao Nang, 3 nights, including a day trip to Hong islands
- Day 28: Fly home from Krabi Airport
We're not big on nightlife or partying, we're thinking about Pai for its chill vibe and natural beauty, but we're a bit wary of its party scene. We decided skipping Chiang Rai. We're also considering other spots like Petchaburi, Ratchaburi, Lampang, or Hua Hin—any thoughts?
We're used to a fast-paced travel style and love cramming lots into our days. Any tips, suggestions, shortening, or different destinations, order of traveling, you think we should consider?
Thanks a bunch!
