Well, this is me leaving this community but not before leaving a few thought that might help one or two of you.
I joined this community to find out the gossip about Kyra and Oscar as I used to watch their vlog. First of all let me make it clear, I’ve never been a massive fan of Kyra or Oscar for that matter, they both were a bit weird to me but funny sometimes, it was just one of them families you’ve watched for a while and every now and then I’d watch their most recent vlogs to see what they’ve been up to.
They’ve posted lots of things I haven’t agreed with, from the very early ones where Kyra was pregnant with Levy and all she seemed to do was sleep when she used to live with her grandma Katie to what they used to feed the kids etc. not judging but just not things I’d personally do.
Now with that being said, I never understood hating someone based on something you think or even know that they’ve done when you don’t know them personally.
I haven’t followed exactly what’s happened between her and Preston, Hannah, Oscar but the reality is, even if everything is true, even if she cheated and isn’t the best mother, even if she’s a narcissist, for a bunch of women to be sat on their phones and waste their lives subscribing (basically paying her) to her instagram, literally spying her every move just to post on here and spread hate is just a bit disgusting. You people pick on everything this woman does. Also, what about redemption? Has any of you thought she might’ve regretted her life decisions but it’s too late? She’s not gonna come on here and start saying how much she hates her life, no one would so why are you wasting your time spreading all this hate?
The words used in here to refer to someone who you don’t know personally shows how you all speak in your day to day life and your language says a lot about yourselves.
Now please ladies, take my example and remove yourselves from this community as all of this hate only brings negativity and bad vibes in your life.
I’m sure you all have so much potential to do much more with your life than this. Hating is so easy, being productive and working on yourselves instead of hating on others is the hard bit so I invite you to make this small change and use the time you spend spying on her and posting on here to spend with your kids or your families and friends or working on bettering yourself.
Goodbye now and please remember, you become who you surround yourself with! Stay in a negative and hateful environment and that’s who you’ll become.

Je m’explique.
Cela fait un an et demi que j’entretiens (F22) une relation relativement floue avec un homme de 28 ans, à la vie professionnelle plutôt instable (pas de CDI, pas très diplômé).
Cela ne me dérange pas vraiment étant donné qu’il n’est pas du genre à se laisser aller et qu’il reste chercheur d’opportunités pros. En revanche, il s’agit d’un facteur qui entretient notre instabilité générale, étant donné que je suis étudiante alternante, et donc souvent en déplacement.
Comme je l’ai dit, notre relation est floue dans la mesure où nous ne sommes pas en couple officiellement, bien que nous nous sommes explicitement mis d’accord pour être exclusifs depuis 6 mois environ. Dès le début, j’ai été la partie chercheuse de relation sérieuse tandis que lui préférait prendre son temps (ses raisons sont l’écart d’âge, mes déplacements/distance, et un manque admis de confiance en moi).
Bien que j’accepte ses raisons, et suis en partie d’accord, j’ai l’impression d’être quémandeuse d’affection, surtout lorsqu’il semble parfois calmer mes ardeurs en disant « n’oublie pas que nous ne sommes pas en couple ».
Néanmoins, nous nous sommes avoué des sentiments amoureux depuis plusieurs mois déjà, et il m’a avoué vouloir poursuivre une relation très sérieuse avec moi si nos situations respectives montrent des signes de stabilisation.
Hier soir, nous étions au téléphone et je lui ai dit que j’étais inquiète parce que mes règles tardaient à arriver et j’ai admis avoir eu un oubli de pilule plus tôt dans le mois. Voyant qu’il devenait nerveux et un peu énervé, j’ai moi même cédé à la panique et lui ai demandé ce qu’il ferait si je tombais réellement enceinte, bien que je pense pas vraiment l’être et que je lui demandais cela de façon un peu sournoise pour connaître ses véritables sentiments (Assumerait-il l’enfant, me marierait-il ?)
Il a répondu qu’il assumerait effectivement l’enfant et l’aimerait mais il a montré des signes d’hésitation quant au mariage. Je n’ai absolument pas compris cette hésitation qui va à l’encontre de tout ce qui a été dit jusqu’à maintenant. Bien sûr, c’est une décision à ne pas prendre à la légère mais je m’attendais à plus d’amour et de dévotion venant de sa part. Il semblait plus inquiet à l’idée de laisser notre potentiel enfant seul avec moi, plutôt que devienne une mère seule et affronte l’humiliation de ma famille et autre.
Je me suis mis en colère et lui ai dit, sous le coup de l’émotion, que c’était soit la femme et l’enfant, soit c’était rien, qu’on ne pouvait pas assumer la moitié de ses responsabilités. Je lui ai aussi reproché de ne pas m’aimer réellement.
Je ne pensais pas tout ce que je lui ai dit mais ma frustration et ma colère envers lui sont réels et tenaces. Est-ce que je manque de maturité ? Manque t-il de clarté envers moi ?
Je m’excuse pour le pavé. Je me sens très perdue et triste…

I can’t seem to find a clear answer. I was hired at a school in Guatemala, so I’d be working in person there. The school is registered as a nonprofit in the US, and I’m also American.
They say it’s legal for me to work there on a tourist visa, and that they’d take my passport and get my tourist visa renewed every 3 months.
Is that legal?

Education: Bachelors and Masters in Business Management from well ranked UK universities.
Work Experience - All in South Asia

• Fresh out of uni, I worked in marketing for an advertising agency.
• 3 years, as co-founder, at my manufacturing start up. Had to shut it down late 2019.
• Post covid - Part time work, on and off, for my parents company, managing a small team. Analyzing reports, creating short term strategies, lead generation, performance evaluation etc.

Hurdles:

• Due to my mental health issues, I feel like I’m rusty, don’t have any transferable skills and starting from scratch.
• I’m unsure if my ’ancient’ work experience, counts at this point. I never worked in corporate. I don’t have ‘modern’ work experience.
• I’ll be in France and my french is at beginner B1 level at best. I’m taking regular classes though, would make a lot more progress in a year.

What I’m looking for:

• 100% Remote work, however I am open to office work, as long as it’s not a corporate environment.
• Jobs with scope for career advancement/transferable skills. (I came across VA/Data Entry jobs but I worry if I can leverage this experience to something bigger or long term)
• My ideal job is somewhere I’d have to be a jack of all trades. I love variety in my work. Working with cross functional teams, different stakeholders would make me want to work 14 hours a day. However, I won’t be picky at this point. I’ll take whatever I can get.

My ideas so far:

• I thought of getting a part time job in retail/restaurants/hospitality etc to build confidence and gain people skills. Is this a crazy idea given my circumstances?
• I’ve looked into online training courses on Coursera and Udemy and certifications from Salesforce to become an admin or getting into project management. I’m aware the competition for entry level jobs in these fields is brutal, but I can’t think of any other options.
• I’m also interested in the healthcare industry. Is there a degree or course I could finish in a year or so that would get me an admin role in this sector? I’m fine with a caregiver role too but I’m deathly afraid of bodily fluids. Is there some sort of counseling, training, therapy roles I could get without a degree in science?

I’m open to suggestions for other career paths as well. I really appreciate any responses. Thank you.
Additional info - Personal struggles have made me severely anxious, introverted, and without confidence. I wasn’t like this 5 years ago. During Covid, I developed some mental and physical health issues. Let’s just say I’ve spent the last few years as a recluse, in a self imposed lock down. I stopped socializing with friends, rarely left the house and couldn’t even get out of bed most days. I did some remote part time work for my parents company on and off, rather they pushed me to do it as they were afraid I might never get out of this rut. However, I don’t want to live like this anymore. I want to be financially independent and need to build a career.

This sub is full of kind and compassionate people and so I was wondering if I could ask a question. I’m a child and adolescent therapist and I created an ADHD parenting class last year.
It’s been super helpful for parents and caregivers who either have ADHD themselves or their child might have it, but I’m always looking for ways to improve it.

I’m planning to get a Steam Deck soon and still trying to decide which one to get.
Since performance is same on both devices, only major differences are screen and battery. I can get used to LCD screen but battery is important for me. I’d like to get at least 3 hours(preferable much more) of playtime on not too demanding games without having to find a charger. Is LCD SD capable of doing this or is the battery life really as bad as some people say?
Also, for those who switched from LCD to OLED or have both, do you think it’s worth $300 more? I already have the budget allocated for OLED SD, but the amount of games i can buy on price difference making me reconsider. I’m interested on your thoughts. Thanks!

Hello All!
I am 30 weeks and have been fortunate to keep my my general fitness routine throughout the entirety of my pregnancy.
Up until a few weeks ago, this typically included a focus on compound lifts with usually 4-5 accessory movements to follow around 4-5 days per week. Afterward, I usually follow with 20-30 minutes of moderate intensity cardio, do daily walks, and over the last few weeks have been dabbling some Pilates videos on YouTube.
I’ve found that as my pregnancy has progressed I have had to reduce intensity on a lot of usual lifts like squats, deadlifts, bench, etc. And I cannot tolerate any single leg movements anymore such as lunges, steps ups, step downs, etc due to the horrible SI pain I have gotten after these work outs.
I’m at a point where I feel quite limited in which exercises I can tolerate for my legs which at this point are: squats, deadlifts, hip thrusts, and leg machines. And my training feels like a far cry from what used to be my normal. Other than just trying to maintain some level of strength knowing that after baby is here I won’t be able to do much of anything for 6 weeks I’m not sure how best to structure my routine moving forward.
I’ve seen some suggestions that as due date approaches the focus should shift to exercises and movements that help improve baby position for birth and improve hip mobility and pelvic floor stretches. But also feel like this could be accomplished doing a few specific stretches throughout the week.
I was curious to crowd source from you all —especially the mamas 30 weeks and beyond — if anyone is following a specific program or has switched their routines as they approach D-Day and what this looked like.
My major goals at this point: Maintain strength Maintain cardiovascular fitness Prepare for an unmedicated birth (hopefully)

La question parait bête mais voilà, le problème se pose : ça fait 30 ans que je suis sur terre, bientôt 31, et je n'ai jamais réussi a regarder un film en entier. Soit je m'endors avant la moitié du film, soit je finis par aller faire autre chose. Par exemple le premier film que j'ai souhaité voir c'est SpiderMan de Sam Raimi et je me suis littéralement endormi avant de le voir dans le costume officiel de Spiderman. Je ne parlerais pas du Seigneur des Anneaux (que j'ai adoré en livre) ou autre film qui s'approche du culte ici (Star wars, etc ..) car ceux la je tiens a peine le générique de début.
Il se passe a peu près la même chose pour les séries, les animés ou autre format vidéoludique.
J'ai aucun problème pourtant à lire un livre toute une soirée ou jouer un jeux vidéo plus de 2h d'affilé mais pour le reste c'est au dessus de mes forces.
Alors voila je voulais savoir comment vous faites ? J'ai vraiment l'impression de passer à coté de quelque chose quand j'entend mon entourage.
Et si d'autre son dans mon cas, est ce que vous jugez ça handicapant ? Perso je ne trouve pas car ayant lu pas mal de bouquin souvent je connais l'histoire aussi sur laquelle le film a été basé, mais bien souvent on me dit que c'est pas pareil et j'ai du mal a m'intégrer dans les conversations de groupe lié a ces phénomène la (je pense a Dune recemment, Game of Throne a l'époque où c'était diffusé, etc ...)

Bonus exercise: Radical acceptance

“What you resist not only persists, but grows in size.” Carl Jung
All major recovery frameworks incorporate some form of “acceptance” as a significant component of their programs. In the 12 steps, it’s embedded in the Serenity Prayer (the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, the wisdom to know the difference). In SMART Recovery it’s conceived as “Unconditional Self, Life and Other Acceptance”. In dialectical behaviour therapy (which is what is used in many ED treatment programs), it’s called “radical acceptance”.
These are all basically different expressions of the same concept, i.e. not letting things that we can’t control take over our moods and derail us from our recoveries.
On Tuesday of this week we made a list of things that are not in our control. Those things include the past, our current circumstances, and other people’s behaviour. Today will be a brief summary of radical acceptance, with apologies in advance to anyone who’s more educated about this than me, I hope to not completely butcher the topic! 🙂
Radical acceptance IS:

• a neutral acknowledgment of the reality of a situation that is either temporarily or permanently unchangeable
• an acceptance that life is imperfect, we are imperfect, others are imperfect
• a shift in focus from what we cannot control (the situation) to what we can control (our response)
• a way to seek peace and reduce suffering even in the face of real or perceived adversity
• a belief that life is worth living even though it is imperfect and there is pain and disappointment sometimes

Radical acceptance is NOT:

• approval or “liking” a situation
• “giving up” or the absence of a desire for change
  • quite the opposite, in fact accepting reality is often the first step to change
• appropriate for every situation
  • if someone is in danger or being abused, that is not a time for acceptance!
• going to eliminate grief, sadness or pain
  • grief and sadness are normal and inevitable human emotions
  • some things are going to be very painful no matter how much acceptance we bring to the situation, for example death, abuse, serious illness or injury
  • radical acceptance can however lessen feelings of frustration, resentment, bitterness and unhappiness

Signs that we’re not accepting a reality:

• Use of phrases like “why me”, “it shouldn’t be this way”, “I wish it was different”, “it’s not fair”
• Needing to numb to escape a reality
• Labeling people or situations as good or bad, right or wrong

In the context of an eating disorder, the obvious thing that many of us struggle to accept is our current body size! And yet as we have all experienced, that constant internal struggle with body acceptance and trying to force ourselves into smaller bodies as soon as possible quite often keeps us trapped in a binge cycle.
Body size is not however the only area in which acceptance can affect our recoveries. Other things we might need to accept in recovery could include: how much work it might take to achieve recovery from our eating disorders / how long that process might take, other people’s inability to understand our struggles or be supportive, an inability to completely control our environments, the fact that recovery will have ups and downs and there may be symptoms along the way, and the discomfort we may experience when learning new coping mechanisms and letting go of old ones. And I’m sure there are many other examples!!
Why does this matter? When we spend our mental energy resisting or fighting against things we cannot control or change, we create emotional suffering for ourselves that we then often turn to our unhealthy coping mechanisms to soothe, and we potentially rob ourselves of the opportunity to focus on what we have and what is actually available to us, and to make progress where possible!
I try not to put my own personal experiences into the posts but I have a recent personal example of what a difference acceptance made in my own life recently, so I’ll share that in my check in! 😀
Tips for Practicing Radical Acceptance

• Think of a reality that you are fighting against (“this shouldn’t be happening”)
• Acknowledge the reality (“this has happened”)
• Remind yourself that you are not in control of changing it right now
• Think about what your behaviour would look like if you did accept the facts
• Try a body scan to see what feelings and sensations that evokes
• Embrace any feelings of sadness or grief
• Acknowledge that life has meaning and is worth living even when there is some pain

The bonus exercise is: can you think of 1 small, 1 medium, and 1 large acceptance goal related to your recovery?
Here are some non-recovery examples in case they’re helpful in thinking about small, medium and large acceptance goals 🙂

• small: someone cut in front of me for the bus
• medium: I burned my dinner
• large: I didn’t get a job I applied for

Buyer filed INR case AFTER FOUR DAYS. What does this tell you? To me, this tells me he has all intention on wanting the item but wants the money back….. never had someone file this fast when an item is clearly ON ITS WAY. What’s anyone’s advice? I’d so quickly refund him and just relist the item but I’m not sure what happens when that is the case and I also do not believe they should be allowed a negative review…

Firstly, I’m not sure if this is the right place to post this so if not please let me know and I’ll remove it. Equally if anyone has advice for more suitable sub-Reddit to ask this then it’d be greatly appreciated.
I’m an advisor with Connells Group, haven’t been employed by them for too long and I am still in their “Initial Funding” clawback period. There are many reasons (culture, extortionate broker fees, conditional selling to name a few) that have left me disillusioned with being employed here.
I know that as per my contract there would be a clawback for this, however others I trained with employed across the country have only received an empty threat via letter when leaving within the clawback period. I’m intrigued to know, has anyone in this sub-Reddit actually faced further action from them?

Hi all! I haven’t used reddit in around 10 years but I figured I’d bring this situation here(suggested by my younger sister) I’m F55 and I have a daughter F18. My daughter got pregnant for the first time when she was 14, it was a shock to everyone but I supported her every step of the way. Her boyfriend, (who is also the father of her son) moved in with us so he could help raise my grandchild. A few months ago my daughter asked me if it would be ok for her to try for another child. I told her that she’s still young and that another child in our house being as cramped as it is just wasn’t going to work. (Me, my husband, daughter, daughters bf, and grandson all live in a 2 bedroom house) 2 weeks ago my daughter told me her and her bf tried for another kid and that she’s pregnant. I was shocked and didn’t know what to do so I made an offer, she could stay here in our house until she gave birth but after that we didn’t have room for another child. She started screaming at me saying that we will make it work. I told her she does not disrespect her mother like that and that she needs to leave for a few weeks while we figure everything out. I offered to let my grandson stay with me and my husband until she finds a place. She stormed out of the house calling me all sorts of names and took her son with her. She hasn’t contacted me since this all happened and I’m starting to worry. My husband thinks I overreacted and that it his could have been avoided. I’m not sure what I think, when I asked my sister for her opinion she told me this is the place she goes to find out if she’s the problem or not, I thought I’d give it a go, thanks for reading y’all.

I have some old cattle panels I’d like to use as a trellis for my pole beans - just straight and vertical, not in an arch.
However, most of the cattle panels have varying levels of rust with some being mild and some being severe.
Would any of these be safe to use with my beans? I keep finding polar opposite information when I try to research this. I’m trying to use what I have on hand!

I’m in a bit of creative slump and I thought it’d be so fun to try patterns without knowing what it’s gonna be. I can’t really do that in my own but if anyone can post pictures of free patterns/patterns already on the internet (without saying what the finished product will be), that’d be awesome!
It can be anything from a granny square to a blanket to amigurumi. Nothing crazy advanced (I’d say I’m intermediate)

So I don’t know if this is a thing yet, but for those of you that are competitive and have friends that you beatbox with I have an idea.
If you have the Google app you can use voice to text and they have the option to “Search a Song” by humming, making sounds, singing, etc. Based on your input you can see what percentage match your singing, humming, BEATBOXING is.
If you’re really good at beatboxing you’ll be able to get a match in the high 90s. I’m not sure how good the technology is yet, but if I could beatbox a song with 90-100% accuracy I’d want to share that with my friends. I hope that this idea is helpful and brings more fun to the beatboxing community!

I’m going to try to make this brief but as clear as possible. I really just want to know that I have a good chance and what else to expect and do. I’m hoping to read some success stories with people with a similar background. Copium basically haha…
I passed my asvab with a 70. I have gone through meps (Got DQ’d for the self harm scars which are quite severe) but passed on everything else
Army is now currently having me retrieve records for prescriptions (I took Zoloft for 2 months after a messy break up that was nearly 2 years ago now) and my records for my psychiatric visits (2 in total both not lasting longer then a week or two). My pharmacy records are currently being reviewed and I’m sort of battling to get my records from the psychiatric hospital. They only want the records from the first hospital.
My recruiter keeps telling me I need a good “Why” and that it’s the most important part of all of this. Since my self harm scars are deemed really severe as there are multiple. It happened when I was 14-15. I have a rough background but he insists that we write something saying it happened when I was 11-12 which won’t add up with my psychiatric visits as they definitely recorded that I came in with self harm scars and I was 14-15 at the time. I’m 23 now. The way he wants me to phrase everything feels dishonest and he won’t really accept the real reasons I give him. Which I can go into depth in the comments if it matters for this. What should I do for maximum success?? My past is my past and I don’t carry any burdens nor have any problems currently other then my past interrupting my enlistment process. Any advice would be helpful.

On Easter Sunday at church we watched the new Easter Movie during second hour. All the primary, youth and adults were together for this. (As many of you on here I have been deconstructing Christianity) I found myself horrified that we're in a church with children watching a movie of a man being tortured and murdered!! 😵 It was the first time I was able to look at it in a different way. It's just so strange that we really are a religion of human sacrifice. But dOnT wAtCh RaTeD R mOvIeS!!
