Hey y'all, long time lurker, first time poster. I'm currently 3 weeks into a planned 3 month no alcohol period prior to my 35th. I did Dry January earlier (as I do annually) and posted in a different sub of how much better I felt at the end of the month and how little I missed alcohol this time around.
Unfortunately, some old bad habits reared their head in the following months and I've had too many days in a row of drinking up to 3/4 of a liter of tequila alone a day than I'd care to admit. A few friends commented on me showing up to events a bit buzzed. I was (and continue to be) stretched at work.
Yearning for a change, and hangover free weekends, I made an intention (promise?) of no alcohol for three months in the lead up to my birthday. 3 weeks in, I feel great! Sincerely no desire to drink alcohol and disappoint myself. Loving the better sleep, savings, and full recollection of conversations and evenings.
So all this said, I'm going to an all inclusive resort in Mexico with a few friends for a week of diving. That's the main purpose of the trip -- lots and lots of diving. I'll be 2/3 through my original 3 month goal.
My question is: how would some of y'all handle this situation? I'll see how I'm feeling in the lead up to the trip and when I'm there, but I'm currently open to setting a firm rule towards drinking that I discuss with my friends beforehand to help keep me accountable. Perhaps something like up to two drinks after one dive that week with my friends.
Not sure. I'm feeling really good about my sober journey so far, and currently feel very motivated to finish it out, but I also want to be realistic that I'll probably be the most tempted than I'll ever at the beach for a week with open bars everywhere. I don't want to set myself up for disappointment / backtrack too much on progress.

I let it pass kaso ngayon, mukhang mauulit na naman.
Our plan was to meet ng 1pm today since birthday n'ya bukas kaso today s'ya free kaya ngayon na lang sana kami lalabas. I told him last night, if ever he'd ghost me again, ibo-block ko na s'ya.
Ok naman s'ya as a friend, nalilibang din ako barahin s'ya sa mga katangahan n'ya sa buhay kaso I know na di ko deserve ng ganitong treatment even as a friend. S'ya yung may kailangan pero gusto ako pa yung mag-e-effort? I guess, once is enough. Too bad for him, maghihiwalay na sila ng jowa n'ya, mawawalan pa s'ya ng kaibigan pag di pa s'ya nagparamdam today.
It's bullsht that I moved my sched para sa kanya, di ko alam kung maghahakot na ba ako ng gamit sa dorm o hihintayin ko s'ya.

Hello friends!
I am searching for a DM that would be interested in running a long term, weekly campaign for three to four players. I had some previous success with one that I met through lfg/ and they were amazing, lots of fun was had and truthfully it's an experience I miss and thoroughly enjoyed, sadly due to their personal commitments things naturally came to an end, but I'm still very much interested, as is the rest of the group I am with, in finding a new DM.
I would love if there's somebody available with a little experience with online systems, but it is not entirely a necessity. While I like that people are able to make a job out of being a DM, I'm really looking for somebody that's willing to do it for free who's wanting to find a group of friends they're more than welcome to hang out with.
Our group consists of people that are avid enjoyers of roleplay and voice acting, we all like getting into character and immersing ourselves. I've recently created a character sheet and backstory on D&D Beyond, but I'm also happy to create another which fits any given D&D campaign (Homebrew campaigns included). We have some experience with Roll20 and Fantasy Grounds, though might need a refresher with some of the interface since we haven't played as a group for around four years now. I also hear Foundry VTT is great and would be happy to try that as well.
The three of us currently confirmed are from the ranges of 29 - 36 years old. We're a multinational group, with my partner and I currently living in the UK while others are living in the States. We run on fairly similar schedules which can be discussed if there's interest.

My friend Jess (19F) threw a birthday party for her boyfriend Jake (20M) on Friday evening. She invited around 8 of us on a group chat after working out the date, saying:
“Alrighty! Let’s do 6:30 tonight. Be there or be square. Jake’s house, ordering pizza so plan accordingly (ie eat before if you can’t eat pizza/don’t want any). Text me if you questions. Thank you.”
We (all 19-20) turned up, Jess put out chips and water, everyone ate the snacks and we talked. Jess went to pick up the pizza she’d ordered. Everyone had a few slices. The rest of the evening was great, we played some games and had snacks.
The next day, Jess texted the group chat:
“Hey everyone! For food and drinks and such from last night, I spent around $60. Can everyone etransfer me $7?”
I was surprised, as I have never been to a birthday party where food was provided, and then charged for said provisions. Yesterday (Saturday) I texted the group chat:
“Hey, is it common practice at parties for the host to ask for money/compensation after? If the host wants to split the cost of the party, I think that should be discussed first.”
Jake said he was sure we’d discussed this at the party but I disagreed. Then he added:
“I would suggest checking beforehand in that case. Respectfully, and I am not trying to have tone, it seems unreasonable to me to assume free food without confirming it and then take issue later when your assumption doesn't hold.”

I have a YT channel w/socials to help promote new and indie sci-fi authors. I've been doing it for a month so far and currently four authors have been featured.
My pitch is that you take a chapter from your book or a section that could be read in about 10 minutes and send it over. I will intro the book, then narrate that section in an audiobook fashion, and then at the end of the video let people know where to buy it or preorder it, as well as what all your socials are for them to follow you as an author.
The section you send should be what you consider to be the selling point of your book - what will get people hooked enough once they hear it to go out and buy your book. To clarify, this isn't a review, this is an exposure move.
