What takes all my empathy away though, is that they have decided to ANNOY (*) us into purchasing, and that's when my loyalty goes out the window.
So my question is: who has experience with the BMW Traffic Camera Information service, and how good is it when compared to Flitsmeister? Any experiences?

Last week we had a phone call from the company we bought the kitchen from saying that the fitter they recommended us to has been unreliable as of late (not turning up for jobs, leaving them half done, running over etc). They are now recommending we don't use him but essentially leaving the choice to us as he is freelance and they can't dictate to him. We gave this fitter a deposit for nearly £1500 in March (materials + 10% labour).
We have attempted to contact the fitter but he hasn't answered phone calls, emails or letters sent to his home address.
We have now found an alternative fitter, but from a legal perspective is there any way that we can get that money back?
My head is saying if we say to him that we don't want him to do the work any more, then we will be in breach of contract and will surrender the deposit which is sickening.
There is no written contract, just the quote which we accepted, so not really sure where I stand.
England and Wales and it's a private limited company - if that makes any difference.

- Boyfriend was trying to call support for a service after they messed up. He was already angry about that and she was crying, so he angrily kicked her moses basket into the kitchen and slammed the kitchen doors. I came out of bedroom (was about to dry hair) to ask what was happening bc I heard slamming doors, to find her in the kitchen by herself in her moses basket screaming. I took her out and cuddled her and she instantly stopped crying.
- Again wouldn't stop crying (she's a bit of a velcro baby), and he grabbed her infront of his face, his grip was initially a squeeze, for about a second, and shouted at her to 'SHUT UP'.
- I called him out for doing this and he then just proceeded to not shout at her to shut up infront of me. He thought I was napping, and I heard it from the bedroom.
- I told him she was restless at night, and it was the weekend (I cover her weekday night times and he normally sleeps through her cries on weekends), but he wanted to try and help me. She was again restless, amd he got frustrated thinking it was milk she wanted even though she was refusing to drink. I can't get the image out of my head of him frustratedly and aggressively pushing her onto his leg and forcing her little chin down to take the bottle. Multiple times. I wanted to cry, it felt wrong. Turns out she was hot. We were warned about sleeping with the window open so tried to avoid it - but its British summer time, and really hot and we have to have the door closed because of the cat at night. I googled and opened the window and she's slept so well ever since.
- Whenever he does a nappy change he gets frustrated, especially if she does her party trick. I never get angry at her, she's just a baby, but he actively gets angry at her. It sets off my anxiety and I offer to take over every time.
Am I being dramatic..? :/.

I am looking for a smartwatch to get. I ahve looked into the waters of Garmin Vivoactive 5 but I got disappointed it does not have barometer and older HR tracking sensor.
There arent many more, that are on the smallish size, I do not want pixel watch and galaxy watch. Huawei, Amazfit all have big sizes most are 47mm and too big for my wrist. I loved 40mm apple watch I used to have (cant anymore because android).

Ultraseedbox had pretty decent documentation to get me to this point, however now I'm not sure how to search for the specific files I want. Say for example I like downloading TV show episodes that are 400mb or less that have the text "x264-Torrentgalaxy" at the end. I've looked at the settings in Prowlarr, and have added Torrentgalaxy as an indexer, but I'm not sure how to specify file size, x264, text in the name, etc.
And I heard that even if I set things up correctly, sometimes it doesn't get the right stuff, and that's why the Trash guide was created. Not sure how bad it actually is, but I don't have money to pay for trash guide info, and in any case my requirements are very simple.

wanted to buy a camera and the seller wanted to do it via bank transfer but I requested if I can do Paypal but they didn’t want to because Paypal holds the money for 21 days. I still said no bc I was scared of getting scammed but the seller then offered for me to pay £100 then the rest when I receive the product. They showed videos of the camera to show it’s still working and everything. Should I bank transfer? This camera is usually so expensive but the seller used it once and doesn’t need it anymore.

I healed. 2 and half years after Dday we no longer have issues related to the affair. I healed and new issues arrised. He's so messy. I hate how I have to wake up into a messy apartment every day. He want to one therapy session and then never followed up even though he promised me he would. He promises things and then doesn't fulfill them. I think I healed enough to function and now I want balance. I want to get off antidepressants. I want to lose the weight I gained. I want to live in a nice and clean apartment. I want to eat good. I want to save up money. In each and every aspect of this, he is dead weight. I love him so much, I went through so much for him but he is slowing me down. I don't think I can ultimtely stay with him. And after all that. We'll very likely break up even though he did an amazing job during R and I don't regret this journey. I've grown so much as a person and I am so very well aware now of what I am capable of.
I just needed to get it off my chest because even though we are very much in love and happy I am considering breaking off our engagement. We are happy because I take on myself so much more than I should have to and I don't complain. I should start respecting myself.

Everyone involved in this story is between 25 - 30 and living in different countries.
Me and a close friend lets call her Megan made this a clan with the aim to play on a high skill level. The clan has been around for 5 or so years and we managed to reach a professional level. We were also close with the group of people that joined over the years and even met them multiple times irl.
Over time naturally people would leave and new people join, but a year or so ago the friend I started the journey with retired. It was only me left to manage the clan. Even tho we managed to move on it just isn't what it once was. From our original first group barely anyone is left. We are about to lose our professional status and if I'm being honest Im burned out too.
Now with all that I decided to retire aswell and with that close the clan. We are around 40 players currently with maybe 20 being "active" (at least online sometimes). Here starts the drama.
A hand full of the active players are saying I should have just given the clan to one of them, while yes it is just some clan it still has a history and image, the name has a status and I feel like I owe it to everyone that was in on the journey to close the clan on a high note.
There is also a wedding in a few months, 2 of our clan members are getting married, they invited around 7 of our online group and they just so happen to be part of the hand full of people that wanted to continue the clan.
One of them lets call her Jenny joined us a year ago, her soon to be husband Kenny was with us for a year, then left for half a year or so and rejoined when Jenny joined us.
From their POV I "risked" ruining their wedding and should have just let them have the clan or dragged it out 2 more months. But I already know that they realistically dont have the time (or standards) to keep the clan as is. Jenny is working all day and has maybe 3~ free hours per day, which she has to spend with wedding preparations too. Kenny is never hanging around with the clan and not really adding much to the community. We maybe see him every few days when Jenny, him and one more person, Alex, play a different game.
Right after I let them know of my decision, I have been disinvited from the wedding and got a whole bunch of accusations thrown at me, that our friendship was always onesided, that I never did anything for them, that I have failed as a friend, that I didnt care about them.
I know that this was a selfish decision but every decision I made on this journey was for the "greater good" of the clan, even when I continued after Megan quit.
Everyonelse, even if they disagreed with my decision, were polite with me still. Almost all of the longterm clan members agree with my decision.

Is it okay for the person running a pool to take a percentage of the betting money? I've been part of many online betting pools for big sports events like March Madness and the Masters Golf tournament. Some of these pools have been running for years and have grown a lot.
I've noticed that sometimes the payouts don't match the total money in the pool. Normally, I'd expect that if you win, you get a share of all the money everyone put in.
But if the person running the pool is taking a cut for themselves, is that against the law? Or is it okay if the state allows gambling, as long as they pay taxes on it?
I think everyone in the pool should know if the organizer is taking a percentage. It shouldn't be left up to interpretation.

Are there, or has there been anything like that with wine , red or white, rose or sparkling, any wine?
That the wine is ok or so , not the best, but has an insane bottle and other packaging if there are any, and has an insane price?
Doesn't have to like the BS i found, that the price is in the millions,
but something crazy only rich people could or would drop on a bottle of wine,
not from a top winyard,
from a good or better year,
a rare bottle of one of the best ever vintages of that wine,
or something else spectacular,
so if an event big enough to open such a special bottle doesn't happen,
it's gone up in value if you sell it years later,

They tend to become way to long, i haven't learned any ways to stop myself yet , new to the whole diagnose thing,
I have been struggling with it since like the end of kindergarten ,beginning of school, without knowing what it was.
And when I was to old for non stop hyper all waking second of the day,
I was so scared of being weird and fit in even less than I did, and scared to do something at home, so they would start thinking i was weird and not like me either..
So I hid it as best i could, i took everything that came with that and pushed it as far down and hid it as i just could managed , had some small outlets when I was alone at home, and the times i cracked at home, it was either against my Brothers, and because of lack of selfregulation, it was either exploding with anger, crying hystericly, screaming as loud and as long my lungs and voice would let me from irritation or frustration, or having the same extremes with positive feelings, they most likely thought i was a normal part bipolar, part psychopath, part spoilt rotten daddys little Princess who gets everything she wants, never gets in trouble, and can get us in trouble with just one cry or one word, and part sweet, happy , Nice littlesister, you know the kind of babysister every big Brother, most of the time, have? And it's normal for a kid to be a hyper sometimes, but I had a childhood being scared to be me, tummyaches all the time for the stress and work, physical and mental symptoms getting slowly worse with time, and buhu, i had it so bad, millon kids had it a millon times worse, but it still wasn't plesant and 10/10 would not recomend! It's been about 20 years since I had the lightbulb moment what might be going on with me, had no idea how to move forward, thought it cost a lot of money to get it checked out, didn't have any money, now, at the end of my 30's i get it, so not learned how to stopp the long rants, but it get here some day, maybe when I get on the medication, start testing soon, which I look very much forward too. The moment i went from wondering if I had it, to knowing without knowing, if you get it, was one night after way to much alcohol, and a supersurge in inpulsivity, have it all the time, but it usually just make me online shop to much or buy something unhealty stuff to eat , and waaay to much of it, I want chips, candy, chocolate, some cookies or baked goods, and some full fat soda, and eat everything today? Sure go ahead, no worries,
But that night i did that one illegal thing, that if someone with adhd do it, their reaction to it is almost polar oposite of normal people?
It was the best few hours of my life, I hade peace and quiet , and a lot of the unvolentairy movements took a little break for the first time that I could remember,
It was the best thing I ever did, and that scared the shit out of me, and I kept away after,
that peace and quiet could had me addicted if I got to have it one to many times,
could most done a few times before stopping, but it was better to be safe than sorry,
and I have not felt peace since, that is what 18 years ago,
so even if I know the medication wont be the same, anything resembling something less than now will be 1 millon times better..

And that is a bottle of champagne, where the bottle has 3000 diamonds set in gold prongs all over the bottle,
a gold lable with the letters in the name that has a dot over it, has a swarovski crystal applied by hand,
how the hell did they get the small delicate prongs, and the diamonds on then? Is there a machine that can do that?
And why is he bosting and making so much hubbubb like 2-4 small manmade glass "crystals", almost more than the diamonds that there are like 3000 of and not labgrown?
The people who has tasted the champagne inside,
which the maker was talking up as one of the best ever, like he had filled the bottle with some vintage, extra good year, of some Dom or something,
the people tastings's verdict of "the best champagne ever " , didn't taste the greatest,
is that Nice wineexpert talk for: shittiest champagne I ever tasted? 🤣
And what kind of cash you would have to own this bottle?
Just the small sum of 2,75 millon USD.
Then the guy has a vodka in the same line,

But since the dude making this is russian, making some good russian vodka,

Easy Background Information I am a 24 y/o guy who has struggled with mental health my entire life. I've experienced passive suicidal ideation (SI) since I was 8 years old. My fiancée is a 25 year old woman who has also struggled with mental health most of her life due to an early trauma at the age of 3. She manages her schizophrenia and bipolar disorder with medication, but she is not currently in therapy.
The two of us are on waiting lists for sliding scale options in our area (US) and I am currently unemployed. I'll call my fiancée Eleanor (fake name) for the purposes of this post and will not be sharing detailed information about our history of trauma aside from giving the basic idea around those traumas when relevant to ensure anonymity.
The Complex Stuff - I edited this down... Four years ago I was kicked out of my mother's house during a depressive episode because I was not looking for work. During this time, I couch surfed between friends who had the space to house me for a few days at a time. One of those people was my boyfriend (Zack, 24) at the time, he had a girlfriend he wanted to introduce me to and I was interested in meeting Eleanor at the time, so I agreed. He set up the meeting and made sure that the two of us had one anothers Snapchats.
We began messaging every day and quickly became emotionally involved. As Zack, Eleanor, and myself are all polyamorous, we spoke about boundaries that everyone wanted to set and we were off to the races. Out first meeting was life changing for me. I had just been informed that my mother had let my 3 pets starve (they had all the supplies they needed for multiple months) and she had sent me a text on the day of our meeting to tell me they had died.
Needless to say that I was not doing well that day, but the meeting went fantastic. Our conversations flowed as well in person as they had over Snapchat and I know that I have a tendency to fall fast, so I tend to wait to reveal the intensity of my feelings of at all. After just a few weeks, it was early 2020 and lockdown began.
Eleanor was living in a college dorm at the time and offered her extra space to me. This extra space was a place in her bed and permission to share her private one bedroom dorm. I was adamant that it was a bad idea but the alternative was that I sleep in my car and not see her because she is immunocompromised and she said would have had to distance herself from me for safety. This decision was complicated by the fact that we were already in love with one another by this point, but we hadn't said it.
She insisted that it was the best option because she is considered a ward of the state and they couldn't kick her out of her dorm the way they were doing to everyone else. Her trauma at age 3 resulted in some odd privileges while in college and that was one of them. So, while many people were scrambling to find a place to go when the school told everyone they had to leave, Eleanor was cool, calm, and collected.
I moved in and she and I have been together since. I've even proposed. Now, here's the rub.
During this early stage in our relationship, I was homeless, severely mentally ill (unmedicated without therapy), and I was grieving both my pets and my relationship with my parents. I was experiencing SI every day without fail and I was confiding in Eleanor at her request. Our conversations got heavy and I expressed thoughts and feelings I hadn't shared with anyone else and she did the same. It was the start of a trauma bond.
The conversation that this whole situation pivots on is that Eleanor was asking about what it would take for us to become official. I told her that I didn't think it'd be a good idea since I would have to find somewhere to go once the school year ended and she would go to her dad's house in a different state. She said that she'd ask her dad if I could come with her and if he said no, she'd stay with me.
At 20, I thought this was insane (I still do.) but incredibly romantic and when her dad said no, she stayed with me. She was then (rightfully) devastated when I said that we couldn't officially date and asked me why. This conversation happened in the early morning and I should have slept instead of running my stupid fucking mouth.
I told her that I have desired to take my own life since I was 12, that I believe that that is how my life will end and I don't want to add another person that will be affected when it happens. I told her that my best friend took his own life when I was 16 and while I experienced the devastation first hand and watched our shared friends and his family grieve, I don't want to live until I naturally pass.
I told her that I think she's fantastic and she had lost her sister to a heroine overdose less than 8 months before this conversation, so I didn't want what I know I'm going to do, to be a part of her future history of trauma. She listened intently, leaning forward the whole time, I remember the image because it felt like she should've run away and her closeness was so comforting.
I didn't say it to simply hurt her, we had just told each other so many harsh truths that we hadn't shared with others that I trusted her with this deeply fucked up truth of mine. She said that was okay and that she understood while crying and kissed me. I knew the whole thing was bad when it happened, but with 4 years under our belt and a ring on her finger, I'm seeing the effects.
I'm currently suicidal and have been actively planning for nearly a year, I hid it for 9 months and finally told her about 3 months ago. She was devastated, but not for the reasons I thought. Today we had a longer conversation and she said that she wanted to fix it (which I expected) and then she said that she wished I hadn't hid it for so long. She said that she knows that I'll take my life at some point but she doesn't want to be surprised by it.
She revealed to me that she doesn't regret my telling her that I will take my own life someday, because it let her know that she needs to cherish every moment with me because she may not have a long time with me. I asked if she thought 4 years was a long time. She said yes, but that it also "feels like I met you yesterday." She broke down crying and said that thinking about losing me breaks her heart.
She said she doesn't think about that conversation every day or even very often, but she expressed feeling that when I take my life that no one will love her. That she'll never move on or "get over me". That she didn't feel cared for before me. That she feels like I'm the only person who knows her.
I realize now that she was already in love with me during that fateful conversation 4 years ago, we were both 20 and mentally ill. I feel I have inflicted a deep trauma on her and will in the future as well. I feel that becoming her first real love (her words) has forever tainted how she will experience and see love. I feel that I've ruined her ability to be happy when I'm gone.
She disabled and I'm her caregiver and medical advocate during appointments. I realize now that I took on all of these roles and she didn't learn how to fill them herself and while she says that her "life was going nowhere fast" and she "didn't know how to be happy, I think those are the thoughts of someone experiencing cognitive dissonance and my role in her life likely has done more damage than I ever realized before today.
Is there any way to undo the damage I've done and keep our future marriage intact? I'm currently seeking help for my SI and mental health issues to properly heal and hopefully manage the SI and mood swings I've been experiencing that have made things harder recently.
We plan to go to marriage counseling, focusing on the Gottman method and do not have a date set for our wedding because of my admission of suicidal ideation. I don't feel at all comfortable vowing to love them forever, feeling so confident in this belief that I will take my own life someday.
TLDR; I told my partner 4 years ago that I plan to take my own life someday and that I would not date her unless she understood and accepted that. I think it was traumatic, deeply messed up, and unintentionally coercive since she already had feelings for me during the conversation.
I want to undo the damage to their possible image of relationships, trust in themselves, and have active steps to move forward and support them as a healthy partner instead of perpetuating any of the beliefs that they have about themselves or their possible future aftewithout me. Whether that future is triggered by my death or the natural end of our relationship.

And unfortunately I don’t drive either :( I constantly feel like a burden to my parents and I really just want to get out of their hair and let them be but considering my situation it’s been hard :/

I've read about narcissists and I started thinking that my partner may be one, but now I am so confused and I am starting to believe that maybe I am the narcissist, maybe I am the problem and I can't think straight.
I nag a lot about things that he refused to do, even if I asked him multiple times. And I'm referring to basic things for an functional adult - taking out the trash, cleaning after himself, washing his clothes. If I don't tell him to do it, he doesn't do it, if I tell him maybe he will do it but afterwards he would complain that I am always so negative (because I told him again to wipe off his piss from the bathroom floor), that I am always giving him chores (I do my part of household chores, I often do his part too). When I'm asking for help and I complain that I'm always taking care of the house on my own, and I'm so tired of repeating everyday the same things, I become this vile person -his words- who only wants to control him, who is always negative and upset, who is always nagging, who wants to destroy his mental health. He starts screaming, yelling, cursing me and my family, he tells me that he can't stand me anymore, that I should find another man, that he doesn't want me anymore and so on.
The next day he acts like nothing happened, like he did not verbally abuse me, like it is my fault and he is entitled to be mad at me. He expects me to say that I'm sorry and apologize profusely, even if he would not apologize for the things he says.
When we are in public after a fight -with friends or family, he acts very kindly towards me, and when we get home, his behavior shifts and he is giving me the silent treatment, or he is stonewalling me. It's like he is an entirely another person in public.
He often says mean things to me, and after 5-10 minutes he says no that's not the truth, I never said that. He denies all the things he does or tells and he is lying about what I do and tell. He would say that I sent him messages and called him names, and when I show him the conversations and ask him to show me when and where did I do that (because he lies), he shifts the conversation to another accusation, and he returns to the first accusation after a while (the name calling one), and then bounces back to another false accusation previously discussed, and he does that, throws false accusations at me, over and over again, until I am literally dizzy and too tired to defend myself and I give up.
He started a fight in front of his parents (after I told him that his behavior indicates that he is a narc) telling them that I am not normal, that I abuse him by saying that he is a narc, that I want to manipulate him by making kim think that he is a narc. He basically told them that I said that he is manipulative and abusing, without telling them that he doesn't allow me to speak, that he starts to yell at the slightest inconvenience, that he is cursing me and my family over the smallest things, that he sometimes wouldn't let me work, he would stay next to me and yell at me during my working hours (we both work from home), he wouldn't do anything for me, for our home, for our relationship, if I don't ask for it, and when I ask him, there's a big chance that he wouldn't do it and start a fight.
We unfortunately share a home and a mortgage. He threats me that he will leave, I says ok please do, and he doesn't do it. I want to break up with him, sell the house, pay the mortgage and split the remaining money, but he doesn't want it, even if when he is arguing to me he says ok let's sell it. When it comes to a serious discussion, he backs down. I feel stuck in this home with him, he doesn't want to leave/sell his part to me/sell the whole house. He only threats me with this because he thinks that this way I will shut up my mouth.

I feel like everyday I'm running on a hamster wheel, everyday the same loops, nothing changes, nothing gets better. We fight, he hurts me, I cry and overthink about the fight, he acts normal, he would maaaybe buy me flowers and cook dinner, and the next time I bring up something that hurts me we start all over again. And so I began asking myself if I'm the problem, maybe all of it is in my head, I started doubting my actions and my words, I started thinking that maybe I'm mentally ill, but in the middle of the fights, when I hear how he speaks, how he curses me, how he makes fun of my parents I am convinced that this is not a normal response to my "please do the laundry". But after the fight he would deny that he said or spoke those words He would tell me that I have the blame for the way he is acting, and if I want him to be nice to me and not curse me, I shouldn't tell him negative stuff such as reminding him about house chores. After a fight I am so drained I cannot think straight, I cannot work, I cannot eat, I cannot do anything besides stare at the walls and cry.

Ok, while thinking over the events, and reading Feast for Crows, I found a specific line in a Cersei chapter that had me thinking.
I know most of us are aware that Blood was a former gold cloak brute who was hired by Daemon to carry out the murder of one of Aegon's sons, while Cheese was hired to help navigate the secret passages of the Red Keep, as a ratcatcher he knew them like the back of his hand. After the murder takes place, we know Blood is captured two days later at the Gate of the Gods with a bloody bag. He was severely tortured for 13 days, revealing that he was going to bring the head to Daemon at Harrenhal.
Now we know all the people involved were Daemon, Mysaria, Blood and Cheese. Daemon dies from splattering on the surface of the Gods Eye lake and becoming fish food most likely. Mysaria gets whipped to death and dies naked on the cobblestones, Blood is tortured for 13 days then dies, but Cheese is the odd one out that goes missing completely and never is mentioned again.
So it had me thinking, all of these people die but one of them just happens to get away scott free, never seen again conveniently. I at first thought it was just a simple plot hole that George forgot to go back to, but when reading over a Cersei chapter in Feast where it is describing Jaime's findings when searching for Tyrion in the walls, this excerpt is mentioned,
A passage to the black cells had been found, and a stone well that seemed to have no bottom. They had found a chamber full of skulls and yellowed bones, and four sacks of tarnished silver coins from the reign of the first King Viserys. They had found a thousand rats as well... but neither Tyrion nor Varys had been amongst them,
The basis of the theory I'm getting at, is that these yellowed bones are Cheese's, the sacks of coin are the payment he was given by Daemon through Mysaria most likely. Now how Cheese died is the big question. I think what happened is after the events of B&C took place, they fled back into the walls, into the deeper parts of the castle, Cheese led him to where he stashed the bags of silver before they went up to commit the murder. Cheese was in this for the money, not so much because of loyalty for Daemon. Blood was though, he was a brute and an idiot, I think he fatally wounded Cheese, didn't care about the money, he considered Cheese a loose end and may have been told to do it by Mysaria. He then left him there where he was found later by rats and consumed till nothing was left but rotten bones. Blood was alone because he had already disposed of Cheese. The thousand rats are a giveaway to this ratcatcher's fate also, most likely drawn to the remains.
Also fun extra detail but the chamber full of skulls was probably all the people who helped build the red keep in Maegor's era, who he killed, probably sealed them away deep in the castle, out of sight, out of mind.

My lease on my current place ends in July. I asked my current landlord over a month ago if myself and my kids (single mom and two teens), can sign another 1 year lease. We have kept his place immaculate and he has seen it several times over the past year. My rent is always paid on time and bills are up to date. His response to signing was that he needed to check what the current market value is and he will get back to me. I’m my area it has gone up $300-$500 per month. I still haven’t heard back from him. I need to either give a month notice or re-sign with him for June 1st so I am running out of time. I have looked at current prices around Edmonton for a 3 bedroom place and the majority are $2000 and up. The max I can afford is $1900 and that’s at the top of my budget. It means I’m working over full time. Both my kids are special needs and while I do get some funding for them it’s only a couple hundred a month. It mostly pays for medical supplies. No one will want to be a roommate with a person who has two medical kids. I also don’t want the stress of getting a 4+ bedroom place and then the roommate takes off and I’m left paying for everything myself. I had it happen several years ago. I make decent money ( I am a pediatric LPN) but it’s not enough to survive on with the way things are going. I don’t want to have to move into a dangerous neighbourhood or a very run down and dangerous accommodation, just to make ends meet. Rent in Alberta is getting beyond ridiculous. I also have to compete against a lot of other people in this city for any accommodation. I’ve started looking at small towns for cheaper places but then that means my kids will be pulled from their special schools and I will either have to home school them, they go to regular schools and fail high school or they just drop out of school. 🤷🏻♀️ 😔small towns are almost just as expensive and then I will have to find a new job. Just frustrated at where housing in Alberta is at.

Well, no. Because if you want to do that, there’s still Ghost of Tsushima, Nioh 2, Way of the Samurai 1, Way of the Samurai 2, Way of the Samurai 3, Way of the Samurai 4, Way of the Samurai 5, Samurai Warriors 1, Samurai Warriors 2, Samurai Warriors 3, Onimusha, Genji, Shadow Tactics, Total War Shogun, Muramasa, Sengoku Basara 1, Sengoku Basara 2, Sengoku Basara 3, Sengoku Basara 4, Nobunaga’s ambition, Sekiro, Tenchu, Tenchu 2, Toukiden, Toukiden 2. And many MORE!
My point is, there’s a lot of games set in the Sengoku period. You’re not missing out on Japanese protagonists. GO PLAY THEM. You don’t need a shitty franchise like Assassin’s Creed to get immersed in feudal Japan.
Yasuke though… he is something new though, isn’t he? I don’t think he’s ever been a main character before. We haven’t really been able to play as a character like him before. Don’t you like a fresh experience?
And Yasuke has a fascinating story. Perfect for assassin’s creed’s grand historical epics. He was brought to Japan as a slave and became a samurai. Everybody loves a rags to riches story. He was given a stipend (made a samurai) by Nobunaga, one of the three unifiers of Japan. THIS IS NOT UP FOR DEBATE. GO TO AskHistorians IF YOU DON’T BELIEVE ME. So Yasuke is IN THERE in the historical drama. He’s in the thick of some really interesting historical developments. And then when his master dies, he disappears from the historical record, shrouded in mystery. That’s a perfect character for this kind of game, especially in AssCreed where they hand-wave historical inaccuracies as being misinformation from the templars. Plus… he’s actually MORE historical than Altair, Ezio, or Connor. That doesn’t even matter, though. AssCreed has animal stand battles with King George Washington. It’s never been afraid to distort history for a good time.
If you are tired of games feeding you the same old tired plotlines, then this dude is perfect for you. There’s great drama just built into his historical backstory.
Now personally I still think the game is going to be trash because it’s Ubisoft and they are probably going to put in $10 microtransactions for sword guard skins or something.
But THIS DUDE Yasuke checks all of your boxes if you want games to have interesting and fresh stories. If you actually GENUINELY care about compelling narratives in video games, put your money where your goddamn mouth is and prove to me that you’re not just reflexively shitting on the game because it’s got a black dude.
