2024.05.16 05:30 Caw-zrs6 Came up with a potential support card for Salamangreats. (Don't really know how to make the cards in posts on this subreddit, so sorry for no picture)

So, this just came to me recently regarding the Salamangreat ED (plus main deck), and that's the fact that a large majority of them are mostly comprised of the Links, Miragestallio, along with some generic cards, like almost none of them are using Violet Chimera, Emerald Eagle, Burst Gryphon, or Blaze Dragon.
Now, I get it, of these four monsters, the latter three are a bit slow to get their effects to go off properly. However, I believe I may have come up with a card that can boost their usage, even if by just a little bit.
Now although I don't yet have a name for this card, what I do know is that it's either a Continuous Spell or Trap that says the following:
Once per Chain, you can target 1 "Salamangreat" monster you control: Immediately after this effect resolves, apply 1 of these effects based on the targeted monster's card type. * Ritual: Tribute the targeted monster, and if you do, special summon 1 "Salamangreat" Ritual Monster from your hand with the same name as the tributed monster (this is treated as a Ritual Summon). * Fusion: Fusion Summon 1 "Salamangreat" Fusion Monster with the same name as the targeted monster, using monsters from your hand and/or either field as material, including the targeted monster. * Synchro: Synchro Summon 1 "Salamangreat" Synchro Monster with the same name as the targeted monster. For this Synchro Summon, you can treat the targeted monster as a Tuner. * Xyz: Special summon 1 "Salamangreat" Xyz Monster with the same name as the targeted monster, using it as material. (This is treated as an Xyz Summon. Transfer its materials to the Summoned monster.) * Other: Add 1 "Salamangreat" monster with the same name as the targeted monster from your GY to your hand. If this card is removed from the field by your opponent's card, you can target up to three FIRE Cyberse and/or "Salamangreat" cards that are banished and/or in your GY except this card; shuffle into the deck, then draw 1 card. You can only use each effect of insert Salamangreat card name here once per turn.
So, what do you guys think? I'll be honest here, I wasn't really sure if I should include an effect involving the Link monsters since Salamangreat already has quite a few effects that either support them or are related to them in some capacity. Also that last effect I put in because to my knowledge, there's no in-archetype means of getting their banished cards back.
Anyways, again, let me know what you guys thought of it, and if there's anything that you would add or change regarding this card, please let me know.

2024.05.16 05:30 wren-r-wafflez334 Ideas for analog horror, and what you don't have to do

There are a lot of very "worldwide event" type ideas, similar to vita carnis and the smile tapes, but in my opinion, I think that analog horror having to do with individuals and their stories are a lot more interesting. Think the Mandela catalogue, the walten files, dog nightmares, harmony and horror, fnaf, etc. Those ones always creeped me out far more because they went into more detail and it was more specific. I think even the smile tapes were pretty good until it strayed away from the journal logs.
Analog horror doesn't always have to be existential or grandiose in its story. Some analog horrors, and often the best analog horrors, are just about people in situations. Like the first analog horror on yt! No through road.
Because of things like vita carnis, the smile tapes, the boiled one, and other videos of the like, a lot of the community, including creators who want to start to get into analog horror tend to think "oh, I've gotta make some bug world-wide tragedy" because that's what's blowing up rn. But a lot of one's that have blown up in the past are about characters. Most stories in general are about characters, and you shouldn't put them as second to whatever situation they're in. Put the characters and their traits and personalities first, and whatever they're going through second.
Happy creating!

2024.05.16 05:28 No_Ask161 How should I approach this issue with my boyfriend?

Hey Reddit, I’m just here to get some external perspective on some issues I’m having with my boyfriend. I (20F) have been dating my boyfriend (19M) for a bit over a year now. He’s a complete sweetheart, he has a huge heart and is an emotional guy (not in an aggressive way; he just has big feelings about things and cries easily). These are things I honestly lve about him, but I’m worried things are starting to go downhill. For some background, he has pretty severe OCD and ADHD. He’s been diagnosed and medicated since he was about 8, and had to go through some pretty intense exposure therapy for a while. He’s overall very functional and operates normally. I, on the other hand, also have severe OCD and ADHD, as well as generalized anxiety and depression. (All professionally diagnosed on both sides, don’t worry.) The difference is, I was only diagnosed 2 years ago (ADHD) and this year (OCD). My main issue is this: I feel that he’s progressively gotten too comfortable with me and my family. Obviously I want him to feel comfortable, but it’s to the point where he treats my house as his own (eg. leaving clothes on the floor, not putting things away, leaving old food/drinks out everywhere, etc.) I feel like I am constantly asking for him to do small things, and he always takes it harshly. For example, I’ve nicely asked him several times to not leave trash in my room. My contamination OCD is severe, and I will go into a panicked cleaning spree and not be able to sleep if there are germs/garbage in my room. I also get super irritable, which I try to let leave my system before I say anything about it to him. Essentially, I feel like I’m not asking much, but whenever I ask him to change small things about his lifestyle he gets really emotional and treats it as if I’m attacking his personality. He definitely has made small improvements, but not to the capacity I’ve expected. He sometimes remembers to pick up his garbage from my room, but he’ll still leave stuff all over the rest of the house. It feels as if I have to parent him, sometimes. My main question is, how should I approach this problem in a way that won’t make him defensive? Am I asking for too much? Should I give it more time for change to come into effect? It’s put a strain on our relationship and I’m really not sure where to go from here. I love him and want this to last long-term, but I truly don’t know if it will if these things persist.
Additional things that have happened: - I’ve had to bribe him to brush his teeth at night, and that’s only the nights he spends with me. I don’t think he brushes at night at all when he’s at his house, though I know he does in the morning. - He has really poor eating habits, which comes mostly from his upbringing. My family has always been a home-cooked meal (or at least healthier takeout) family, while he grew mostly on fast food. I’m genuinely concerned about his health moving forward, but he refuses to eat healthy a lot of the time. - His car is a mess, and it’s definitely gotten better. But most days I get in his car, there’s at least one old drink and an old bag of food laying on the ground. - he complains about his stomach issues and headaches often but won’t go to the doctor. I have volunteered to schedule him an appointment but he refuses and says he’ll do it himself. He’s been saying this for a few months now.
Again; he’s a genuinely good person with a good heart. I think he lets his mental illness control him more than it needs to, and his willpower is taken over by his desire to avoid discomfort. Let me know your opinions, and please be kind. Thank you in advance, all I’m seeking is clarity in a situation I don’t know how to navigate.

2024.05.16 05:27 Jonboy_25 The Hebrew Prophets do not prophesy about Jesus, Christianity, or anything still to come in our time.

For thousands of years, and to this day, Christians of various kinds have tried to demonstrate the truth of Christianity by claiming that Jesus was prophesied about specifically in the Hebrew Scriptures. It is argued that Jesus fulfilled these prophecies about the Messiah in the OT and, therefore, is the promised one. Only Jesus could've fulfilled these Messianic prophecies, so they say. Additionally, Christian theology, building off the NT paradigm of quoting the OT, has claimed that the OT looks forward to the founding of Christianity and the formation of the Church.
What this post will argue is that this is anachronistic and that Christians are incorrect in their claims about the OT. The OT prophets do not look forward to a supposed Messiah figure who would arrive hundreds of years later in 1st century Roman Palestine or that this Messiah figure would crucified and raised from the dead. Nor do they prophesy the establishment of the Christian religion. Instead, the OT looks forward to an imminent, glorious, material restoration of ancient Israel meant to happen in their day, not centuries later when Christianity was founded. Nor is the OT looking forward to supposed events that have yet to happen, like the second coming of Jesus or a future restoration of the land of Israel. These were supposed to happen in ancient Israel but did not occur.
Before I begin, I would like to say that this is the consensus of biblical scholars and historians. This is not just my opinion or the opinion of secular skeptics. All critical scholars of the OT, including Jews, Christians, and non-religious ones, agree that OT needs to be understood in its ancient Israelite context. They agree that these texts and oracles are not about Jesus or the Church. If you want to read an excellent scholarly resource, I highly recommend John J. Collins, Introduction to the Hebrew Bible, 2018. He is a leading OT scholar at Yale and a Roman Catholic. The New Oxford Annotated Study Bible is also a beneficial resource, giving a critical scholarly introduction and notes to the Hebrew Bible.
For this post, I will look at some of the principal prophetic literature of the OT. I cannot analyze every single relevant passage.

Isaiah

The Book of Isaiah is among the most popular books in ancient Judaism and Christianity. I could be wrong, but I believe it is the most cited book in the NT after Psalms. This is relevant to this discussion because Christians cite many passages in Isaiah, believing them to be predictions about Jesus. This precedent is set in the NT, for example, in Matthew's or Luke's gospel. However, Jesus/Christianity is not prophesied in the book. Instead, Isaiah predicts the imminent restoration of the Kingdom of Israel and the gathering of the twelve tribes.
Let's examine Isaiah 7:14, a passage often misconstrued as a prophecy about Jesus. In reality, it's not a prophecy about the Messiah at all. The passage states, 'Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Look, the young woman is with child and shall bear a son and shall name him Immanuel.' This is not about a virgin giving a miraculous birth. The word used here is 'almah ', which simply means young woman. If Isaiah intended to convey that this woman was a virgin, there was a word for that, 'betulah '. Matthew's use of the Greek translation of Isaiah 7:14, which is a mistranslation of the Hebrew, as a prophecy about Jesus's virgin birth is a misinterpretation. The context of Isaiah 7 is an oracle of consolation given to King Ahaz, promising him a sign through the birth of a son that Jerusalem will be preserved from the Assyrian crisis.
'For before the child knows how to refuse the evil and choose the good, the land before whose two kings you are in dread will be deserted. The Lord will bring on you and on your people and on your ancestral house such days as have not come since the day that Ephraim departed from Judah—the king of Assyria. On that day the Lord will whistle for the fly that is at the sources of the streams of Egypt and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria. And they will all come and settle in the steep ravines and in the clefts of the rocks and on all the thornbushes and on all the watering holes. On that day the Lord will shave with a razor hired beyond the River—with the king of Assyria—the head and the hair of the feet, and it will take off the beard as well.'
So, Isaiah 7:14 refers to the Assyrian crisis in the 8th century BCE and the preservation of Jerusalem, not events that occurred hundreds of years later. Matthew's misquotation of the OT is a clear example of misinterpretation. It's quite ironic and even amusing that the most famous and well-known prophecy about Jesus's virgin birth, cited every year at Christmas, is quite literally not about that. This highlights the importance of understanding the historical context and the original intent of the texts.
There is a cluster of oracles in Isaiah 9-11 that Christians cite as a prophecy about Jesus. But when we look at the context of Isaiah 7-12, we see that these are about the restoration of Zion and the re-establishment of a Davidic king who would rule in the ancient Near East in Israel, not in 1st-century Judea.
Let's look at some of the famous passages.
'For a child has been born for us, a son given to us; authority rests upon his shoulders, and he is named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Great will be his authority, and there shall be endless peace for the throne of David and his kingdom. He will establish and uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time onward and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.' 9:6-7
This is not a prophecy about Jesus. The text presupposes that this son is already born and will fulfill this vision in Isaiah's day. Again, the passages surrounding this one set the historical context for fulfillment in the ANE. This Davidic King would preside over the physical restoration of a united Kingdom of Israel and the unification of the twelve tribes.
'On that day, the remnant of Israel and the survivors of the house of Jacob will no longer lean on the one who struck them but will lean on the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, in truth. A remnant will return, the remnant of Jacob, to the mighty God. For though your people, O Israel, were like the sand of the sea, only a remnant of them will return.' 10:20-22
'On that day, the root of Jesse shall stand as a signal to the peoples; the nations shall inquire of him, and his dwelling shall be glorious. On that day, the Lord will again raise his hand to recover the remnant that is left of his people from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from Cush, from Elam, from Shinar, from Hamath, and from the coastlands of the sea.' 11:10-11
The King, through Yahweh, on that day will also,
'raise a signal for the nations and will assemble the outcasts of Israel and gather the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth. 13 The jealousy of Ephraim shall depart; the hostility of Judah shall be cut off; Ephraim shall not be jealous of Judah, and Judah shall not be hostile toward Ephraim. 14 But they shall swoop down on the backs of the Philistines in the west; together, they shall plunder the people of the east. They shall put forth their hand against Edom and Moab, and the Ammonites shall obey them.'
So, it's clear what these oracles were intending to describe. Isaiah predicted that after the Assyrian crisis of the 8th century BCE, Yahweh would raise up a Davidic ruler who would preside over a literal Israelite Kingdom that would become the dominant power of the ANE. This was expected to happen in the ancient world, but it did not occur. The historical context of Jesus and the first-century Church is not the fulfillment of these oracles. These oracles are failed. Isaiah's vision of an eternal, glorious Israelite Kingdom did not come to pass.

Jeremiah

There are two passages in Jeremiah I would like to discuss.
Jeremiah 29:10 promises that after 70 years, the Jews will return from the Babylonian exile, and God will restore Israel to its former glory.
'For thus says the Lord: Only when Babylon’s seventy years are completed will I visit you, and I will fulfill to you my promise and bring you back to this place. For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope. Then, when you call upon me and come and pray to me, I will hear you. When you search for me, you will find me; if you seek me with all your heart, I will let you find me, says the Lord, and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and all the places where I have driven you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from which I sent you into exile.'
This never happened historically. Yes, some of the Judeans in exile did return to Israel. Israel was rebuilt with the help of the Persians. But, this was not the glorious restoration predicted by the prophets. Israel would continue to be dominated by foreign powers until the establishment of the secular state of Israel in 1948, which, of course, has no relevance to this ancient oracle. Further, while some Judeans did return, this promise of a gathering of Jews from all the nations did not happen. After the Assyrian and Babylonian conquests, Jews have remained permanently dispersed in the diaspora. This is another failed oracle. It cannot be interpreted exegetically as being fulfilled in the 1st century with Jesus and Christianity.
More famously, however, is Jeremiah's prediction of the establishment of a 'New Covenant.' (31:31) Christians see this New Covenant as being fulfilled in the Church, and indeed, the New Testament frequently refers to the New Covenant being fulfilled in the Christian community and Jesus's work. However, the historical context of this passage is surrounded by a cluster of oracles in chapters 30-31 that were meant to be a consolation to ancient Israel. The passage itself is clear that this is not talking about Christianity or events hundreds of years later, but is a word of consolation to Jews who experienced the Babylonian conquest:

'The days are surely coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah.' 31:31
What is the context?
'At that time, says the Lord, I will be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people.' 31:1
'The days are surely coming, says the Lord, when the city shall be rebuilt for the Lord from the tower of Hananel to the Corner Gate. And the measuring line shall go out farther, straight to the hill Gareb, and shall then turn to Goah. The whole valley of the dead bodies and the ashes and all the fields as far as the Wadi Kidron, to the corner of the Horse Gate toward the east, shall be sacred to the Lord. It shall never again be uprooted or overthrown.' 31:38-40
'For the days are surely coming, says the Lord, when I will restore the fortunes of my people, Israel and Judah, says the Lord, and I will bring them back to the land that I gave to their ancestors, and they shall take possession of it' 30:3
Then, it is clear what prophesy about the New Covenant means. It's about the imminent restoration of the ancient Kingdom of Israel and its ascent into power and glory. Again, these oracles remained unfulfilled and precisely falsified.

Micah

There is one famous passage in Micah 5, quoted in Matthew and frequently cited by Christians as "proof" that Jesus's birth location was prophesied about hundreds of years prior. The idea that Jesus was born in Bethlehem is, of course, historically dubious. Matthew and Luke's accounts are contradictory and rife with historical problems. Mark and John assume Jesus has always been a native of Nazareth (Mk 6:2-3, Jn 1:46, 7:42). It seems then that Matthew and Luke invented their passages about Jesus being born in Bethlehem to give him more Davidic status. But this is beside the point, even if Jesus was born in Bethlehem. It is not a fulfillment of this passage.
'But you, O Bethlehem of Ephrathah, who is one of the little clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to rule in Israel, whose origin is from of old, from ancient days.' 5:2
What is the historical context of this oracle? Again, the context of the chapter and the book is Israel's restoration and the Israelite kingdom's imminent establishment.
'Then, the remnant of Jacob, surrounded by many peoples, shall be like dew from the Lord, like showers on the grass, which do not depend upon people or wait for any mortal. 8 And among the nations the remnant of Jacob, surrounded by many peoples, shall be like a lion among the animals of the forest, like a young lion among the flocks of sheep, which, when it goes through, treads down and tears in pieces, with no one to deliver. 9 Your hand shall be lifted up over your adversaries, and all your enemies shall be cut off.'
On that day, says the Lord, I will cut off your horses from among you and will destroy your chariots; 11 and I will cut off the cities of your land and destroy all your strongholds; 12 and I will cut off sorceries from your hand, and you shall have no more soothsayers; 13 and I will cut off your images and your pillars from among you, and you shall bow down no more to the work of your hands; 14 and I will uproot your sacred poles\)g\) from among you and destroy your towns. 15 And in anger and wrath I will execute vengeance on the nations that did not obey.
What about this future King? Again, I find it amusing that Christians cite this text to show that Jesus fulfilled it. It shows they have not read and understood the historical context of the oracle. The text goes on to say that this King will conquer the land of Assyria, the land of Nimrod.
Micah 5:5–6
'When the Assyrians come into our land and tread upon our soil, we will raise against them seven shepherds and eight rulers. They shall rule the land of Assyria with the sword and the land of Nimrod with the drawn sword; he shall rescue us from the Assyrians if they come into our land or tread within our border.'

Conclusion

I've, of course, been very selective. There are many more examples of this that could've been pulled from. I hope you will see what I've briefly tried to show. The Prophets of the OT predicted that in their own time, they would see the salvation of Yahweh as their God. A Davidic King would be raised, and Israel would be restored to glory after the Assyrian crisis in the case of Isaiah or the Babylonian crisis in the case of Jeremiah and Micah. The same goes for the other prophets. My thesis, then, is that historically understood, not only did these oracles fail in their prediction, but they are demonstrably not about events in 1st century Roman Palestine or the wider Greco-Roman world. They're not about establishing the Church or a dying and rising messiah figure who brings spiritual salvation. Yes, the NT does interpret passages in the OT as being fulfilled in Jesus. But they are taken out of their historical context. The NT and early Christians were not novel in this practice. This was standard Jewish exegesis of the OT. Because Christians and Jews believed that the OT writings were sacred scripture that couldn't be wrong, they reinterpreted them in the light of their situations. The Essenes at Qumran, like the early Christians, also thought that their community and Teacher of Righteousness was the fulfillment of the bible prophecy, and the Rabbis in the Rabbinic literature frequently apply ancient scripture to their community.

2024.05.16 05:27 mandymf24 Coughing fits

Hi all. My mom was diagnosed with Bulbar onset ALS last July and in the last couple of months her respiratory symptoms have worsened noticeably. The main worry at the moment is the coughing fits she'll have. She'll get them while eating but also just seemingly at random as well. The doctor doesn't think she needs a bipap quite yet but she's getting a cough assist in a couple of weeks hopefully. Currently, she just pushes through the fit until she gets past it/gets whatever is down there out. Her only real strategy is using a straw to breath through during bad fits. It's torture watching her push through these fits while not being able to do anything to help her, and I would love to know if anyone else has some ideas on what could help in the meantime until the cough assist comes.

2024.05.16 05:26 w0lfcat_ Is my night shift manager doing something illegal? How do i report my issues?

So I started night shift a few weeks ago and overall I enjoy the consistency. However my best days were when my manager was not there.
I'll start with the smallest issue to my biggest:
-I was not provided a lanyard and a random employee, not the manager, handed me a safety knife and told me what to do on the job. This slows down my pace as I need to stick it in my pocket without ripping anything or putting it on the ground. Still no lanyard.
-I keep being told to go faster despite using proper lifting technique. I stopped paying attention to how i should arrange items anymore to save time, but I still didn't stock everything within the 'acceptable' time frame because i was lifting with my knees instead of bending with my back and making sure i have proper posture. My grandma was also constantly pressured to go faster by the manager and with fear of losing her job she injured her back and struggles to walk now. I do not want the same to happen to me but i dont know if i cant prove anything improper is happening as theyre not directly addressing the way i lift items, just insinuating its on me to find a other way to save time.
-I was not provided lifting training. I see majority of my colleagues not using proper lifting form. It concerns me how normalised it is here. It worries me this place is creating people who will have many future body problems. Everyone seems to act fine rn, but there are a few colleagues here who are older and have been here for a while that have trouble walking. I assume they dont have enough money and know they wont land another job if they leave cos of their condition so they continue to suffer through while the younger people are blissfully unaware that that is their future.
I have no idea how to bring this up to the manager seeing as this is how things have been here for a long time and im still new. Im considering reporting everything so they cant keep pressuring me to overload myself. I already minorly injured my back after constant pressure of being told to go faster.

2024.05.16 05:26 Void-Space-Purgatory Missing a name for a educational short animation film? Saw it in the 90's

Saw this in the 90's, on a vhs. Was a sort of a filler before what ever else was on that vhs. Something educational I'm sure.
Hand painted backgrounds, watercolour and such, hand drawn animation all the way. Characters don't pop out, more like blend with everything.
Not overly cartoony like Disney, more real life like Soviet Union/Czechoslovakia animation style.
Definitely a lot older than 80's or 90's.
No words are spoken, mainly exclamations and murmurs and sorts. Nature sounds and background noises.
The start scene is of a beautiful, vibrant green forest. Long trees, lots of different greens and leaves. Then there is a clearing of sorts. A man walks in from the right, carrying a basket. Full body is shown. Looks like irl person, but more plainly drawn. Possibly gathering berries and mushrooms. Stops by a tree, closer shot of him. Finds an egg from below a tree, looks around but sees no nest. Puts it in his basket. Camera moves back to original position. Walks back where he came.
Next scene is of him driving away from the forest, wiggly road, then more and more cars are around him as he nears the city he lives in. Very noisy. Cars go horizontally on the screen, over bridge and roads. Everything turns more grey and concrete is everywhere. He parks and goes to his apartment. Colors are dull.
He walks towards the camera to a desk with a lamp on it. Gently puts his basket down and takes the egg from it. Places it in a small box with tissues and moves a desk lamp over it, turning it on. Sits down and watches the egg. Elbows on desk and palms on his cheeks. Clock ticks in the background as time moves on.
A close up of the egg. The egg makes shell breaking sounds. He is overjoyed and can't wait for it to hatch. And it does. But not a baby bird is seen. It's a baby snake. The snake has funnily enough more cartoony eyes than him. Seems to be an adder (European Viper). It obviously thinks him as his "mom". So happy to see him. He sighs, not sure about it at first, but decides to take care of it.
Time goes on and the snake grows. They have become a bit close. He chuckles a lot at their shenanigans. His place has a bit more color.
It is spring time again, and we see the man put the snake to his basket. Humming and all. Out he goes to the greyness. Then a cacophony of cars driving horizontally again, until only he is seen driving towards the forest by the wiggly road. It is more silent, nature sounds are back.
In the forest, he arrives at the same spot he found the egg in. He gently places the basket down and ushers the snake to check out their surroundings. Snake leaves in the end, saying goodbyes by flicking it's tail?? and the man smiles, chuckles and leaves the area.
The end.
So a sort of educational short film. Don't pick up random eggs and if you do, nurture them and bring back to forest when ready to live there.
But yeah, this is all I can remember. Not the title, not the creators or even what came after this short cartoon.
Anyone else remember this and whom possibly made it?

2024.05.16 05:25 Nicolecustoms WIBTAH if I don't shake my administrator's hand on graduation for what she did to me.

I'm a 18 F and I'm graduating High School. In my school students have admins based on the first letter of our last names. I and some other students have never liked my admin. Though out my junior and senior year I was apart of science Olympia and I love it. Science Olympia is where each school has a team and compete against different schools in different events. Like code busting, scrambler, bridge, tower and more. The teams with enough points/ 1, 2, and 3 places went to State. Last year we went to State and we were hoping to go to State this year. A week before we were going to regionals, I had a terrible flu and couldn't go to school for a week. And I had already gotten off the D and F list. (The D and F list is when you have a certain amount of D's and 2 F's and you can'tdo any school events until you grt your grades up.) Well I have gotten one of my F's up and was feeling a bit better on Friday and went to school excited to go to regions on Saturday. After school when I was home I had gotten a call from my science teacher who helps run science Olympia at my school, to tell me that I was on the D and F list again. Confused I looked at my grades online and I had gotten an F in this one class for mainly not being there. I couldn't help it since I was sick at home with the FLU! My science teacher told my admin about that but she didn’t allow me to go on Saturday because I'm on the list I can't go. Even though my teacher for the class I'm in is failing me and putting in zeros for the assignments that I had missed for being sick with the FLU. Well I couldn't go and my mom and I had talked with the principal and agreed that what my admin did wasn't right. Present time my admin is still the same as she was even though she allows people being bullied and being a bitch to me and other people. I'm thinking of not shaking her hand as I walk the stage during graduation. What would you guys think? Would I be the Asshole for doing that?

2024.05.16 05:25 Personal_Way6717 Being a gentleman, at what cost?

I, (29M) was traveling alone to banglore on 4th May 2024. Beside me, was a deaf and dumb girl around 20y sat next to me and it was night journey. I was respectful towards her from the start and called her 'amma' whenever I had to interact like when she wanted to buy water bottle or wanted to use washroom.
When lights were turned off, I felt her thigh on my leg. I did not knew what to do. I slowly pushed away her leg and put my hand on my knee which made a triangular shield. This time she pushed her ass on my hand and I was flabbergasted if she has any idea or is at all conscious about the ongoing things. I took my hand away and folded my hands and felt mad angry. I lowered my seat and just wanted to sleep. After a good ten minutes, she layed on my lap and her hand was definitely feeling my thing. This time around I couldn't move. I pushed her to remove her from my lap. No result.
I decided to let her do whatever she wanted and did not bother to interfere. Guys will agree if such a thing happens, we will get hard. I did not want it to happen but, that's how human body works. She kept on feeling it and did what felt like ramming with her head. After an hour or so, she went back to her seat and I immediately ran towards the driver and asked him to change my seat. Fortunately, there was an empty seat in the bus and I moved to that seat.

2024.05.16 05:25 BillybobBarmcake Charging a Day Rate for "Waiting for Feedback days" and "1-2 hours of work days"?

I'm currently on a weird job and have no idea what to charge. I was hired by a good studio to make alterations to a project for a big company (Vertical and Square resizing, and a 30s version) I told them about 3 or 4 days at my day rate. Simple.
But it's now almost 3 weeks later, and it's still not finished. Half of this is because the client keeps changing their mind- mainly reordering sections. But they're also slow to give feedback, so each time I've been waiting around 1/2 days doing absolutely nothing. And when I do get the feedback, it's generally only about 1 or 2 hours of work each day.
Initially, I said that because I'm waiting around for feedback on this job, I'm not taking on other projects, and they suggested paying me 75% of my day rate on the days I'm doing nothing. Great.
But now I've probably only done 4-5 actual days of work, and waiting around for 10+.
There's been no formal booking, it's just implied that I should be free to work on this when feedback comes in. The studio has no idea how long feedback will take. I've asked them if there's other things I can work on for them to keep busy, and they say it's ok to just wait.
Should I be charging to wait around? Does the studio charge the client for days like this? (I normally work direct to client, so I'm unsure about studios)

2024.05.16 05:24 Due-Suggestion1750 [Update] Neighbor P*ssed My Husband Didn't Mow His Grass While Grieving Dead Family Member

Firstly, wow, thank you guys so much for the love, support, and condolences regarding my dilemma from my previous post. My husband and I are recovering and grieving swiftly and moving on with our lives from our ignorant neighbor, Greg [for context, I would look into my previous post]. On behalf of all the support, I wish to update all of you on this situation, for some closure on this, I suppose! My husband and I returned from vacation, and while a handful of you had many thoughtful ideas on how we should’ve responded to Greg’s very awful text messages, we decided to be the bigger people and keep things professional. We essentially decided to tell him we’d cut his grass one final time, but after that, he’d be on his own. We also implied he not contact us ever again, no matter the circumstances. We never got a response back. Anyhoo, upon arriving home, Greg’s lawn appeared to be super-duper neat and freshly cut. So, naturally my husband and I assumed he got ahold of a company for his lawn upkeep, and we went about our business. Well, perhaps I assumed wrong. Today, my husband and I were doing some overdue spring-cleaning, when I overheard heard a mower buzzing somewhere outside the house. I have a few neighbors across from me who cut their grass consistently, but today my curiosity got the best of me. I went to every window of my home, giving a slight peep outside, and sure enough, it was coming from Greg’s lawn. There he was, pushing a mower through his yard, seemingly with ease, not a care in the world. [Now, if you didn’t read my previous post, this man told my husband and I that he had a severe disability not allowing him to do certain tasks, such as mowing the lawn. He’d also borderline harass my husband to do manual labor for free, even while mourning]. So, seeing him cut his own yard came as a big shock. I told my husband, and it was immediately apparent that our suspicions about him milking his disability was evident. It appears he’s more than capable of tending to his lawn, but he’d rather just guilt trip us into getting out of additional labor. We brushed it off our shoulders, and quite frankly, I’m glad we found out what shallow of a person Greg was before our friendship with him progressed. It’s admittedly a little awkward now, but it’s better this way. Anyways, this will likely summarize the tale of my neighbor, Greg. I’ve learned a valuable lesson about neighbors, and perhaps a little bit about entitlement. My husband felt relieved after reading some of your guys’ comments, he was really in his head about being in the wrong, so your guys’ feedback was beyond helpful. Thank you guys again! I wish you all a good day, and happy, care-free neighbors!

2024.05.16 05:23 TidusZero200 The fans took away geko morias powers, so what should he have instead?

i feel like the more i look for the kage kage no mi on the internet the more i see of the fruit being given to fan characters, even myself, so out of curiosity i wanted to know what fruit would come second best for him.
main question: if moria didnt have the shadow shadow fruit, what would be the next best thing?
some small rules since i didn't want to change the character, just the fruit 1. no matter what the fruit it shouldn't affect the story that much outside his regular arc 2. i like the zombie army lets find a way to keep that ;w; 3. moriah is still a lazy bastard and doesn't want to rule the seas by his own hand and still wants others to do the dirty work for him 4. ill let fan fruits exist for this scenario cuz i don't think there's a canon fruit that would fit him properly

2024.05.16 05:23 nothingistrue042 The Red Hand - Jenita Shinde

The Red Hand - Jenita Shinde
I am Jenita Shinde, a child of Ganymede. The following is an account of the Red Hand.
The Red Hand was started by Karriga Animoto (cybernetic philosopher), Felia Sargonaire (bounty hunter) and Robino Wingal (talkative three-eyed wolf) on Europa. They began carrying out heists on the megacorporations in Reldare, the crevice city. They stole to give back to the people. As they grew in number so did their sense of community. They held music concerts, psychedelic rituals, reading groups, general assemblies and protests. With the majority of labourers in the Red Hand, they were able to cease all commodity production in Reldare, replacing corporate AI with their own, sending the corporations out of the city.
They began their own cyberspace network which eventually spanned across all the inhabited moons of Jupiter. This is the so-called Red-Net. With full control of the city government apparatus, the Red Hand, began providing everyone with homes and food and began planning a bottom-up democratic process. The Red-Net is a decentralised network which allows human and posthuman intelligences to vote. Instead of giving machinic intelligence a vote, these intelligences are required to give presentations to voters, pitching ideas whether technological, economic, sociological, political, ethical and so on. The Red-Net is full of polls; it is flooded with activists creating books, movies, music, games, art and so many other things that are possible in cyberspace. With all this activity, directives are carried out by the Middle Finger, agents of the Red Hand, who carry out the will of the people, defending them on the ground and in space.
The Red Hand faces many enemies: the megacorporations and the See Eye Agency (SEA). They all seek to destabilise the community, placing power back in the hands of the few. There is a lot of political conflict on the Red-Net, such that the Red Hand is becoming divided into different factions. Five fingers are taking shape, quickly turning against each other. The Middle Finger is slowly gaining more power over the people instead of being their shield. Some believe the SEA has infiltrated the Red Hand, sowing seeds of chaos. While this has not been confirmed yet, each faction claims the other are all SEA shills. Ultimately, the original dream of the Red Hand is falling apart.
Today, I stand here to bring back the original dream of the Red Hand. Together in a fist, we will bring the enemy down.
Do you know the enemy? We have documented kaledoi among us. Are they the enemy? They are people who do not know they are agents of destruction. There exist paranoiac sociopaths in the back of their mind; masterminds secretly pulling their strings. They need help. It is of utmost importance that we develop both a means to expose them and a means to bring their splintered selves back together. By reintroducing them to themselves, we give them the chance to come back to society, only if they no longer pose a threat to us. The SEA is the real enemy. They have tortured these poor people as children. To fix the kaledoi problem and defeat the SEA, the Red Hand must unite together.
Step 1: First, we must resolve our differences.
Step 2: We must learn to identify and help the kaledoi
Step 3: We must take the fight to the SEA
Vote on this course of action at https://www.reddit.com/theFuckheadBlog/
Let us begin to discuss how we can start on these promlems.

2024.05.16 05:22 JamessFranco Stay in NICU or leave for fertility clinic?

Im currently conflicted and am looking for advice. I’ve worked in a level 3 nicu for the past 8 months and I absolutely love getting to work with the babies and their parents. However night shift had taken such a toll on my life and I know I won’t be able to switch to a day shift position anytime soon at my current job due to a long waitlist. Sometimes it also feels overwhelming to quite literally having patients lives in your hands as well as everything that comes with bedside nursing. I applied to a fertility clinic and got a job interview and it went really well. They want me to come in to shadow before extending me the official offer. I know with the fertility position I’ll be day shift 8 hrs and it’ll help with my work life balance. However the idea of leaving the babies in the nicu makes me sad. So I wanted to see if anyone has left nicu for fertility or other outpatient positions and how it went. I don’t know if I should give myself more time in the nicu to see if maybe I can eventually adjust to nights and working in an icu setting or switch to outpatient where I know it’ll be less stressful (or at least a different kind of stress).

2024.05.16 05:22 Visible_Chair_473 [GBA/DS/DSi][2006-2012~] 2D 32-bit side scrolling game where you interchange between robots/creatures such as a slimmer form having a whip to cross obstacles, another being more blocky and slow, and possibly one more, but all being one playable character (VERY similar to Metal Mutant on Atari)

Platforms: Game Boy Advanced/DS/DSi
Genre: Action, sidescroller, robot/mech/creature(?)
Estimated year of release: 2006-2012 (roughly)
Graphics/art style: 2D/pixelated side scroller. Very grey besides main character. The closest game style I can think of is Mega Man ZX in character size and pixel style, but the character's designs themselves don't look similar. The game felt made for an older audience, as in not a game like Kid Chameleon that has a "cuter" artstyle? Kind of hard to explain but it didn't have that kind of look to it
Screenshot from Mega Man ZX. Very similar looking but the main character from my game isn't as vibrant and the background was much flatter and less dynamic
Notable characters: a main character (almost positive NOT a human or not seeable as one) that has possibly three forms that changes I believe through item pickup maybe? One form that was slimmer in design had a whip/tendril for going over obstacles, another one was clunkier and more square, can't remember the rest (I at least believe there were three). I swear the colors were like light pink, green, and possibly blue? A game called Metal Mutant has a VERY similar character function as to how I remember the character in my game, I had to check and see if there was another in the series on handheld because it fits really close to my description. If Metal Mutant looked a lot more like Mega Man ZX in scale and sprite size and released past 2006 it would be the game I'm thinking of which is very confusing
Character from Metal Mutant. Besides the Dino variation, the other two are incredibly similar to my memory of the character from my game
Notable gameplay mechanics: Character that changes between different types depending on needed situation, such as a whip for obstacles, or a tankier body for needed defense. I can't remember a single enemy which is annoying, but I still believe it was somewhat of an action game like the Mega Man series (don't think its that franchise tho, not from what I could find)
Other details (IMPORTANT): Is not these previously guessed titles: A Boy and his Blob / Metal Mutant (VERY similar tho) / Castlevania III / Monster Tale DS / Shantae series / Kid Chameleon / Gunstar Super Heroes / Robots for GBA / Mega Man ZX or Advent / Act-Fancer: Cybernetick Hyper Weapon / Metroid Fusion
This is game is so fuzzy in my memory and has always been one I've wanted to remember but just can't rack my brain on it man. I can't remember which platform I had it on specifically but it was a handheld Nintendo game for sure. I don't remember either whether the main character was a creature or a robot, just that it would change in design and function between possibly three different iterations. Really wondering if this may be a lost cause...but we'll see lol

2024.05.16 05:20 GodOfSmore Clone (it’s different)

This cloning technique is like many other, similar techniques. It simply allows the user to create an exact copy of themselves. This cloning process appears as if the user is splitting down the middle until there is two identical sorcerers.
Creating a clone is rather time consuming but not particularly taxing. It might take days or weeks to create just one clone based on the users skill and cursed energy manipulation.
Once a clone dies, a same snap shot of their final sight will be transferred to the user, making them excellent for scouting very dangerous areas and situations.
This cloning technique is different from other clone techniques in two main respects; One, created clones are exactly the same as the user. The “copy” of the original goes past just their appearance to include their strength, likes, dislikes, hobbies, etc.
This means, if the user is a grade 2 sorcerer, every clone they make is also a grade 2 with the same speed, durability, attack power, knowledge, cursed energy reserves, cursed energy output, etc. This allows one sorcerer to become a legion of them.
Exact truly means exact. The clone will have all ideas, thought, emotions, preferences, hobbies, etc. as the user with one main difference. A clone will always be subservient to the original. With one main exception.
The second and perhaps the most significant and powerful unique aspect of this technique is its power to create a nearly unkillable user. The user can die of course, but they wouldn’t stay dead. Whenever the original dies, their consciousness is transferred to their most powerful clone.
While the user can die, it’s extremely difficult to get rid of them as there is no limit to how far away a clone can be. Once the user has transferred to a clone, that clone will have their power growth cap removed but their power will not grow to the users level when they died, meaning the user must train their new body up to their former power.
There is one massive draw back however, this technique is the only one the user will ever be able to perform. Meaning they will be unable to learn or perform techniques such as simple domain, falling blossom emotion, domain amplification, domain expansion, maximum techniques, new shadow style, extension techniques, etc.
This only leaves basic cursed energy reinforcement, enhancement, and simple cursed energy blasts. While this leaves much to be desired and many weaknesses for the user to shore up, they’ll have plenty of time to do it. This is because a clone doesn’t age until the user inhabits it.

2024.05.16 05:19 db115651 Redo: dTMS for OCD Treatment Diary

I tried to do this before and found out I was getting dTMS in Brainsway for Depression and not OCD. I spiraled and deleted the last post--which I regret. Follow for updates.
I got in a lot faster than they thought because OCD and Depression have different Diagnosis codes, even if treatment codes are the same. So they can do them pretty close to back to back. I had about a 1 month pause between the two.
Bit of random advice, get your Patient Expense (Detail) report from your pharmacy. It will be handy to show the meds you tried, when, and which doctors. Insurance really liked the detailed notes and my responses to each med and what didn't work for me.
Day 1: Mapping. We did mapping today for OCD they told me a bunch of numbers and I could repeat them but it seems much less intense than the Depression helmet. They make you take your shoes off and they look for movement in your toes instead of your fingers with this one. I washed my feet before hand and wore easily removable shoes as a courtesy. We went right into treatment after we found my numbers. My Motor Threshold seemed higher than this time but they ran it at 60% which was way lower than the depression side. The zaps come a little left of "between the eyes" and a little higher up. They played a meditation today and we will probably continue with those. They will be trying to do Exposure Respinse Therapy and we will focus on the results of the Y-BCOS questionnaire for OCD. We will try to trigger up to a 7/10 distress and then try to calm me down and immediately do the treatment. We will see what happens tomorrow.
I was very very filled with joy today after treatment. Maybe I was just excited to be back. It felt like I could take full breaths again. I didn't have any intrusive thoughts for several hours. I am much more tired than usual for this time of night, though. So much like my experience with depression TMS, I will still have to deal with slight headaches and early bed times. Frankly, I could use the rest.

2024.05.16 05:18 adhdbroughtmehere2 [AL] Can terms of change of custody request be updated prior to final hearing or during?

I posted before in regards to the situation and based off of comments I am getting a bit worried if we made the right choice. I wanted to make another post to see if we screwed up and if we can fix it.
Short Version-
Child's mother has been neglectful for years, lost custody due to it. Regained custody when dad fell ill, but is still being neglectful. Dad is doing better now and has requested to change custody to sole custody. I am wondering if that was a mistake (as judges often side with the mothers) and if it would have been better to just request to keep it as Joint Custody with the residence being changed to the father. If so, is it even possible to do that now? Final hearing has been set for end of August (we had no other hearings prior to this). Can we mail a request to amend (or however it works) or do we just bring it up during the final hearing? Or is it not advisable at all?
Detailed Version-
Backstory: The mother lost custody of the daughter when she was 5 years old because she left her alone overnight with open alcohol and weed within the child's reach. Father gained temporary full custody during this time. She lived with him, myself and her little (half) sister. Two years passed by without the mother attempting to regain custody when the father suddenly fell ill. This allowed the mother an opportunity to request custody of the child citing that the father could not take care of her in his current situation. The father did not contest as he wanted to give his daughter a chance to be with her mother and give the mother another chance. The judge granted them joint custody of their daughter with the mother being the primary residence and dad having her on holidays. The judge put in the order that the mom cannot leave the child alone and that she must provide transportation for all visitations until father is well enough to drive. The mother lives in AL and father in FL. As a note, their situation has always been long distance.
Current situation: The daughter (now 9) has been with the mother since Jan 2023. The mother has been in contempt of two items on the court order. She has on several occasions been left alone overnight. Unfortunately we learned about most of these incidents after the fact and do not have proof other than the daughters word. We do have one proof of her being left home alone though since we found on her ipad a text that her mother sent stating she would be home later. She also has not been compliant in facilitating visits. The father being unable to drive has been left with the choice of not seeing his daughter at all or trying to find family/friends who would be willing to drive the 12 hour round trip. During Spring Break I had to make the full drive to ensure that we could see her. I was unable to return her however due to a flaring back injury. The mother stated she would get her on that Saturday but later changed her mind stating she had to work the weekend and couldnt get out of it. She said she would get her on Monday evening (the daughter was to go back to school on that Tuesday). We later discovered that instead of working she was on Twitch doing a 48 hour live stream for her gaming page. She then didn't arrive until Monday night turning Tuesday at 12:30am. She turned around and did a 6 hour drive to where the daughter had to go to school without any proper sleep.
We have also discovered during the last two holidays that the daughter is being neglected (to the point where she said she doesn't even want to live with her mom anymore and that she wants to live with us). The daughter told us she leaves her by herself and the mom is always in her room playing video games. She won't take the time to wash her clothes or her hair. She had the same hair style for two months when we saw her at Christmas. We got her hair done and when we saw her at Spring Break, again she had the same braids we gave her 3 months prior. We also discovered that the mom isn't getting her dinner and she has been left to fend for herself. Two video chat examples we saw the daughter getting cheez-its and french toast sticks for dinner. The father texted the mother expressing his concern and that he would like to discuss the issue but the mother shut it down saying it wasn't his business. Also her schooling is suffering because the mom is not doing homework with her or helping her study and instead is in her room playing video games. The daughter has also missed at least 15 days of school unexcused. This information was obtained from the school because the mother does not provide this information. He also had to go all the way to AL to the school to get this information because the school said they couldn't prove his identity over the phone. (not sure if that has to do with mother interference or school policy) She also has not taken her to any doctors or dentist. The last time that happened was when she lived with us before he fell ill. We recognized during spring break that her vision is off and were able to get her examined and found out she needed glasses! We got those ordered and mailed to her.
These are some of the main examples of the concerns that we have with the child being in her mothers custody (although there are many more examples). The father has filed for change of custody and asked for full/sole custody of his daughter. With this request he included details of what I mentioned above as well as the additional examples that were not mentioned here. It was 4 pages of concerns- overkill maybe? Not sure, but we thought it better to be safe than sorry. Unfortunately no funds to hire an attorney to have them confirm for us.
The judge has granted a final hearing on the matter in August. I would like to believe that the evidence above (as well as the other examples included in the request) would be enough to show a judge why the father should be granted custody. Also she would be back with me and her little sister again, so she would have a "mother's support" as well as a sibling. When she lived with us she was so happy and thriving and we never left her alone or neglected her health/hygiene or anything. Her grades were excellent and she never missed school.
But with all of that in mind..I am still concerned that the judge could deny the request for full custody. So I am wondering, would it be possible (and if possible, would it be advisable) to amend the request to stay as "joint custody" but with the father as the primary instead of the mother? Not sure if that can be done before the hearing or if we would mention it during the hearing. Of course the father would prefer full custody rather than joint. But I'm concerned that if we go that route that we would get shot down and we will regret not just requesting it to stay as Joint with change in residence. Not sure if I'm just worrying too much or if we really did screw up.
If you made it this far, thank you so much of your time. Looking forward to any feedback/suggestions. Thank you!

I have autism and ADHD and struggle with sensory overload. I’m on disability and looking to try my hand at a job.
I’m interested in jobs that are quiet like data entry, receptionist, book store, library, something along those lines.
Do you have any ideas as to who’s hiring? I’m in new west and something close by would be nice. Part time. Day time shift preferred. Restrictions on lifting.

2024.05.16 05:16 Negative-Rub4326 Speedpaint 2.0 - speeding up drying time? Other general questions.

I've been using Speedpaint 2.0 for a few weeks now just on test models and the like, and I'm slowly getting my head around it after coming back into painting.
Plenty of tutorials around. Plenty of people showing its best and worst traits. What I dont see a lot of, outside of Warhipster's comparison video from a year ago, is people talking about the drying times and working with them.
My experience is that the actual 'work' time on the paints is quite narrow before you run into issues with dragging pigment around if you've loaded up an area and not used any medium, and then the lengthy dry time between that and when its then 'safe' to do another pass.
is it possible to 'speed' the 'safe' dry time up? The Army Painters website states a blow dryer can be used to speed up drying times, but doesnt go into detail. Without putting my hand to it, this just seems like it will lead to issues with cracking etc.
Do people have a recommended ratio of medium to paint to assist with that 'dragging pigment' issue? I'm considering going as much as 1:3 or 1:4 to try and prevent pooling on largeflatter areas like Space Marine shin sections or should I be looking more at technique rather than mixture?

Hi I'm new to modding Skyrim on the Xbox, and feel both overwhelmed and a little underwhelmed. Now there isn't much to be done about the underwhelmed part but the overwhelmed part i wanted to ask some help.
So to start, I've looked before about what other people have said were good mods, but they either use code i dont get, or mod names are changed or something. I'm relatively smart but I can be really stupid at extrapolating sometimes with names as I type the exact name and am shot with abunch of things.
Now this isn't to bad, but again alot of what i saw were old and dont know if they are still good or even named the same.
Sorry got on abit of a tangent, all just to ask,
  1. What are some good NPC and PC character model replacers to pretty them up, I'm not necessarily after every npc being a supermodel or anything, just better looker graphics-wise. This includes Khajiit and Argonians if possible, i've noticed so few people care about them. Also if it is possible to make them digitigrade again, only if possible. I tried to look into being an Alfiq, so sad that doesnt seem to have been made, despite there being mods to add them.
  2. I know there are some good magic mods and i looked for them, but can't seem to locate them in the mod menus, I can locate parts of some, like apocalypse, or Odin, but not like the main mod i need, especially since some seem to imply needing other mods, or creation content i can't afford. I'm looking to play a summoner of sorts.
  3. Then since I'm new any other mods you guys recommend? I know it's a little pervy, but any xbox skimpy armors or such that are good? I'm not too heavy into cheating, but if there are good items, places, or other thing you guys might suggest.
One mod I know for sure that I'm gonna use is Alternate Start, I love the idea of not having to do the prison over and over.
Finally sorry if this is asked alot, but as i said i'm new and so much of what i find from basic google searches leaves me confused.
