I recently started volunteering with KNRegens (a group trying to convert part of the Kanata North Hydro Corridor into a native plant meadow). The leader is affiliated with Wild Pollinator Partners, and their April newsletter lists some native plant/wildlife events in Ottawa as well as several native plant sales.

Gloucester Horticultural Society Annual Plant Sale Saturday, 11 May 2024, 9 a.m. to noon or until sold out Orleans Fruit Farm, 1399 St. Joseph Blvd Lots of good-sized native plants will be for sale, sourced from Connaught Nursery in Cobden, who will once again be bringing in hard to find native seedlings and shrubs, as well as some mature native plants. Payment by cash or e-transfer only.
Friends of the Experimental Farm Plant Sale Sunday, 12 May 2024, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., rain or shine Parking lot beside K.W. Neatby Bldg at 960 Carling & Maple Drive (look for the signs). Ottawa Valley Native Plants (formerly Beaux Arbres Native Plants), Naturaide), and Ferguson Tree Nursery will be selling native plants at this event. Fletcher Wildlife Garden Native Plant Sale Mid-May to mid-June Prince of Wales Drive south of the Arboretum This successful annual sale will be held online again this year. Ferguson Tree Nursery open house weekends Thursday to Saturday, 16-18 May, 23-25 May, and 30, 31 May, and 1 June 2024, 10 a.m to 5 p.m. 275 County Rd. 44, Kemptville Open to the public this spring for 3 weekends. Sells native flowers, shrubs, and trees in various pot sizes/prices.
Gaia Organic Seeds In addition to vegetable seedlings, Gaia will be selling native plants this year (see plant list). You can pre-order in early May or purchase in-store starting mid-May. See their website for details and exact dates.

Ottawa Valley Native Plants (formerly Beaux Arbres Native Plants) Opens mid-May Moved to Eganville, Ontario The nursery will be at The Friends of the Experimental Farm Plant Sale on May 12, and at the Natives & Clay event at Pine Ridge Studio in Carp (details TBD, see the nursery’s “Events” page).
Solidago Farm Wakefield, QC See their website for 2024 dates when Solidago Farm will be at Ottawa markets, including Parkdale Market, Parkdale Night Market, and Beechwood Market.
Dropseed Nursery Prince Edward County This new nursery is scheduled to open in mid-May. Sign up for their newsletter or follow them on social media for details.
Naturaide Winchester The nursery will be at the Eco Market at Re4m (136 Billings Ave) on 20 April, the Sustainability Fair in Kemptville on 5 May, and The Friends of the Experimental Farm Plant Sale on 12 May.
A Cultivated Art Vanier From Sundaura: "This year, the nursery will be offering more plants and new species. Second year plants will be available at the Seedling Saturday sale on 11 May at the Just Food Farm."
A Cultivated Art has slowly been expanding their local native plant nursery over the last few years as they worked out sustainable options for growing containers, soil and packaging and built up their species offerings. This spring they are scaling up again, moving to a full-time format through the growing season with plans to offer over 150 native-to-Ontario species this year and to have sales on alternate weeks through most of the late spring, summer and early fall.
Their online store includes long profiles of many native species. They offer local pickup and will open for orders this year the week of 13 May.
Trinkets and Thyme Embrun This nursery specializes in native plants and food plants. While they grow some of the plants themselves, they also bring in a wide variety of native trees and shrubs of different sizes. You can order on their website for pick-up at the nursery, or visit to browse in person.

Are there any cemeteries in the Ottawa area, preferably west end, that have something similar to Beechwood in that there is a dedicated space or garden for a plot for children/infants?
Thanks in advance, I don't necessarily want to call each site individually if I don't have to.
Edit: adding this for anyone who unfortunately finds themselves in a similar situation and looking for information. We used the services of Pinecrest Remembrance. We decided on cremation and to bring our baby home in an urn. While I don't have information on any other option, if you elect for cremation as well and to bring the urn home, there was zero cost to us in any way. No administrative fees, no cremation fees, and even the urn was free because we chose one of the small ones meant for children. It was a surprising relief to not also have to worry about a large bill on top of all of our other stress. Pinecrest cemetery does also have a baby land garden but we were slightly underwhelmed by it to be honest. Stones can only be flat so it was kind of just an empty looking field with a small single display in the middle.

Was a PF member but had to cancel my membership because there are only 2 Planetfitness in ottawa and both are quite far from my apartment.One is in merivale .
So i tried looking into goodlife,anytime fitness.Goodlife seems fine but it's expensive and will end up putting a dent.Anytime on the other hand just turned me off on first sight.I visited the byward market and beechwood location,and was disappointed to see that the gym was extremely cramped.
As for goodlife,I was quite happy with my tour of the gym at Landsowne,but i have my reservations about the high cost.
I also came across fit4less ,it's near my work place,and would like to know if anyone has been to fit4less.
Bottom line between goodlife and fit4less what's your opinion.Is goodlife worth it's high cost?
