2024.05.19 06:34 SwoleFlex_MuscleNeck There's rants about "incompetent" players and then there's what I dealt with the other night

Aussie, from the sound of it. I feel bad for anyone in your life who has to deal with your gaslighting bullshit outside the context of a video game. you're a pizza burn on the roof of the world's mouth. You're a stubbed toe before a walk to work. You're a missing earbud that ran out of battery 5 seconds before it was realized missing. You're the $4 in change rattling around in the dryer 2 minutes after laying in bed. You're the pet hair caught on the back of someone's tongue. You're the last bit of speed stick falling out of the tube when you didn't get another at the store because "I still have some left." You're the bottom eyelash bent so that it hooks with the top like velcro every time you blink. You're the shoes that make the left pinky-toe fall asleep after 3 hours. The sock without a mate. The password that's "incorrect" and when you go to change it, "new password can't be the same as old password." You're the ice stuck to the bottom of the glass that hits you in the face when you turn it upwards. You're the splash-back at the dive bar urinal that gets on your pants and you have to act like they ran out of paper towels and it's just water from when you definitely washed your hands.
We were on a bug mission. I was running around kiting some enemies, and you started firing at them with a grenade launcher. Or so I thought. You hit me, and I typed, "well...you tried."
You responded on the mic, laughing, "Tried?! haha yes, I was TRYING to kill YOU!...Silly"
I let it slide...maybe I misheard you. Maybe it was just a one-time goof. A gaff. A prank bro, if you will.
Then we get to the objective, and you start mag-dumping teammate 3 while he was using the terminal at the objective. "Oh. This guy is a size 48 clown-shoe masquerading as a human," I thought. While I reloaded, you killed Teammate 3, so I popped you in the face. To my surprise, you groaned about it as if you didn't literally beg me to put you down by acting like someone with a toilet where their brain should be.
Then we were extracting, you and teammate 3 were away from exfil, me and teammate 4, who wasn't privy to your juvenile bullshit, were waiting. Now, I'm already watching the map. Because I know exactly what's about to happen. You turn toward teammate 3, and he dies. He exclaims in the chat about the TK.
Bet. Against my usual behavior but feeling warranted in this case, the way a farmer might feel about putting down a cow that keeps trying to chew off the other cows' hooves for no reason, I thought, "well if he thinks killing teammates is fun, he's gonna LOVE this!" and force-fed you an eruptor round as soon as you peaked your narrow head over the berm.
And how did you respond? "WHOAAA!! Bro! What the hell man?? You killed us!" to which teammate 4 admirably responded by killing me in return. Not his fault, he didn't know what was going on.
It's the audacity for me. You spend the entire match TKing us on purpose, not even denying it, not in a way that was funny or clever or reciprocated, presumably due to the fact that we were down to 3 reinforcements, and yours, the smoothest of brains I've encountered in months, SOMEHOW managed to generate the synaptic activity to play victim when someone does it right back to you? Get fucked, ******_****.
And just in case, I have this whole thing recorded. I was already recording, so I have it from before you even joined the game. Why I didn't report you, I'm not sure.

2024.05.19 06:15 campground_ (Update) 10 years ago, Jenique Dalcourt died after being bludgeoned to death on a bike path. A man was just arrested and charged for her murder.

This case was very big here in Quebec (Canada) but I don't think it has ever been discussed on this sub before. I'm glad there was an arrest. Lots of women felt uncomfortable walking/biking by themselves in the months after the crime - and probably even longer than that.
\Obligatory "English is not my first language" disclaimer, sorry for any formulation that could accidentally be weird or insensitive.*
The crime
On October 21st 2014, Jenique Dalcourt, a 23 year-old woman, was found badly beaten on a bike path in a park in the heart of Longueuil, a city generally considered as a suburb of Montreal. She was walking back from work in the dark when the attack happened.
Shortly after the attack, a man called 911 to report that he found her, and performed CPR on her while talking to the agent.
She died of her injuries.
The investigation concluded that she had been beaten with a steel bar and was sexually assaulted.
In the days following the murder, tree branches were cut and new lighting was installed to improve security on the bike path.
Two days before the crime, another woman was sexually assaulted about half a mile from there, also walking alone at night, by a man that brought her by force in his car. The police was publicly criticised because they did not seem to take her deposition seriously and did not broadcast the information to the population.
The main suspect
Four days after the murder, the police arrested a man and tried to bring him to court, but they didn't have enough evidence to get him charged.
A year later, in October 2015, they tried and failed again to get him charged.
At that time, the suspect wasn't named, and we didn't heard much about the case afterwards.
The recent development
This week, on May 14th 2024, almost 10 years after the murder, the police arrested once again the same man, and this time, they successfully got him charged for first degree murder.
Michael McDuff Jalbert, now 35 (26 at the time of the murder), was the man who called 911 that night.
We don't know exactly what allowed the police to make progress in building the case. They simply said it was linked to forensic science.
Jenique's family is relieved that a suspect is finally brought to justice. Both her parents were in court to see him get charged.
Michael McDuff Jalbert denies that he killed Jenique Dalcourt and says he now «regrets» stopping to help her.
He will stay in prison awaiting his next appearance in court, scheduled for July 19th.
Other information
Since Michael McDuff Jalbert was charged, additional information surfaced about him, but not from police sources (this info all comes from media outlets, sources below).
The trial will continue during the summer, so I will try to update this post.

2024.05.19 06:05 Shamooraps Looking for remote work transferring from Hospitality

I’m 27 years old, and currently am a Front Office Manager at an independently owned mid size hotel making 55K per year. I was working at the hotel at the front desk as I was finishing college and once I got my degree I began to move up and I’m at the position I am now.
Hospitality was never my intention and my degree is in International Business, however, I was lucky to have a very good mentor who taught me so much in hospitality and general business, accounting etc. I currently handle all cash reconciliation, email correspondence, balancing the entire hotel guest ledger, drafting and submitting disputes for chargebacks, scheduling, interviewing-hiring-onboarding-training, analyzing credit limit reports, dealing with guest complaints, maintaining vendor relations, maintaining and ordering inventory for the department, handle billing issues, drafting SOPs and a lot more.
I’m happy I’ve learned a lot but I really want out of this industry. Even as a manager I’m not guaranteed weekends, I manage a whole team of young unresponsible or unreliable people, I often work way more than 40 hours a week, always dealing with low staffing (as per usual with a front desk), I deal with customer complaints, I have to be on the look out for crime and scammers on the property, and other things. I just came off a 20 day stretch where I couldn’t take a single day off and some of those days I had to work doubles due to the super low staffing due to 2 people being fired and one quitting unannounced.
I have a degree in international business (I know it’s a very general degree) but my intention was to move somewhere in Europe at some point for work. I am currently getting a TEFL certificate (English teaching Certificate - doesn’t pay well) which will hopefully allow me to get my foot in the door but I’m really hoping there’s a chance at getting a remote job and going on a digital nomad visa. I know moving to Europe is extremely difficult but I hopefully with my credentials there’s some field and starting point I can work towards.
P.S. I speak English, Spanish and some low level German.

2024.05.19 05:56 FinalPin3 Advice needed on my first $1200-1400 build. Parts list attached.

I feel pretty good about what I've put together so far but I want to see if I'm on the right track.
The main reason I'm upgrading from my 8 year old laptop is for casual game development with Unity. I'll also use it for streaming, gaming, and might try out blender or similar programs. I've never really been into gaming but games like Forza, Baldurs Gate, The Witcher, and Red Dead Redemption sound interesting. Also not worried about ray tracing.
Requirements: - 1440p (preferred) - 60 fps - Easy upgradability. I don't want to be replacing everything if I upgrade my gpu or cpu.
GPU is the biggest part I'm questioning

2024.05.19 05:52 HarrowingOfTheNorth July vs September/October - Ευτυχισμένη γυναίκα, ευτυχισμένη ζωή

Γειά σε όλους
Please forgive English; I speak a little Greek but cannot type on a Greek keyboard without a lot of effort.
My family are planning another trip to Greece in 2025. We will hit three places: Chania/western Crete, Thessaloniki, and Athens. 3 weeks total - 10 days Crete, 5 Thessaloniki, rest Athens.
We have three possible timeframes: end of June/early July, most of July, or end of Septembeearly October.
I prefer hot weather, my wife - less so. I have read probably 50 articles saying why it is OK to travel in late September (the sea is still warm, the restaurants are still open), so I am coming here to get Η σοφία των Ελλήνων for why I might be wrong and my wife might be right. At least here I know the content isn't generated by ChatGPT. And also I pray someone here can tell me why 40 degrees is better than 27 :)
For me, what is important is every day, I don't have to worry about rain or cold swimming; the restaurants are all open; and there are plenty of buses, flights, and ferries. According to those articles, sea temperatures in Chania drop from 26-27 in mid July to 24-25 in late September. Is that still pleasant? KTEL Chania-Rethmyno shows timetables for May but it's not clear when the frequency reduces.
Please, either help me convince my wife, or convince me I am a fool :)

2024.05.19 05:47 Anedgyusername_ 21F Looking for female friends

Hiya! I’m Mel. I’m 21F from the UK and I wanted to find some female friends. I promise I’m not a creepy old dude lol
A little about me:
I like to game, write, listen to music and play my guitar in my spare time. I mainly listen to goth and metal but I pretty much listen to anything lol. I love collecting plushies and dolls and I’m a huge Splatoon fan. I love Halloween and ghost videos! I have dyed hair, piercings and tattoos. I did all of my tattoos by myself by doing the stick and poke method. I don’t smoke or drink but I don’t have a problem with other people doing it. I do like make up and skin care, I’m not really into fashion and outfits tbh. I can be a bit shy but once I get comfortable I’ll open up more!
Idm voice calls but I don’t really like video calls lol.

2024.05.19 05:45 Friendly_Fries_444 29 [F4M] #Alberta #Canada##Online- Seeking an online connection and spark

Let's first get this part out of the way: I'm 29 years old (30 in July), and in a long term relationship that has been fizzled out for a long time. I've done my part in trying to revive it, but it takes two.
So here I am looking for a connection ☺️
Consistent communication is very important to me (but I'm also aware that we have jobs and can't message at certain times lol), but having effort in our communication means a lot.
I'd love to feel that spark again, those butterflies in my stomach when we flirt and make eachother smile at our phones. The excitement of seeing a notification from you. Talking about everything from our days, to likes and dislikes, hopes, fears, whay makes you you. Really getting to know eachother ☺️
Physically I'm 5'1", average body, dark hair and eyes and a pretty face. Tan skin, lots of tattoos.
I'd describe my personality as being kind, friendly, thoughtful.
Looking for someone within the age range of 29-35, someone close in age. Physically attractive (I'd like to be able to exchange a selfie with you sooner rather than later to see if we have a mutual attraction), and mentally/emotionally mature.
If this sounds good to you, send me a chat ☺️
(Ignore the flair, had to choose one lol)

2024.05.19 05:44 foreverandalways21 The perfect 13 track TTPD album

I tried to think of how I would construct the perfect 13 track TTPD album - what songs would I cut or keep and how I would order them and this is what I came up with:
  1. Fortnight - I would keep fortnight at track 1 because of the big collab it automatically generates interest and it also sort of sets the stage for the album sonically and theme wise that it’s a low tempo pop breakup album
  2. I Can Do It With A Broken Heart - track 2s of Taylor’s album tend to be the biggest hits and fan favourites - blank space, cruel summer, maroon, champagne problems, cardigan, etc. I also like how the production starts off - it’s attention grabbing and fun after the slower tempo of Fortnight
  3. How Did It End? - switch it up for track 3 to a quill writing song after the BOP that is ICDIWABH. This song also addresses what everyone wanted answered with this album but while criticizing people’s nosiness disguised as empathy
  4. Down Bad - another fan favourite and pleaser.
  5. So Long, London - I wouldn’t change the track 5 because even if loml has sadder lyrics, this one is stronger sonically and her voice sounds devastated. I cried the first dozen times I played SLL, she just sounded so exasperated and sad. It’s also a nice continuation from How Did It End?
  6. Florida!!! - leaving London, her home for several years, and escaping to Florida. I like how this transition thematically fits. The heavy drums on Florida!!! also brings something different sonically
  7. My Boy Breaks His Favourite Toys - production change to something upbeat and fun but while thematically still being about a heartbreak.
Female Rage Section:
  1. The Black Dog - kick off Female Rage portion of the album. The yell singing makes a nice change sonically. Lyrically also such a strong song. You go from dancing to MBBHFT to crying to the black dog. The rollercoaster of emotions is what I wanted to portray with my choices because going through a breakup is very much a rollercoaster of emotions
  2. Who’s Afraid Of Little Old Me? - she’s getting angrier. Angry at the public treatment. Thematically this is a bit different as it’s not related to a break up but still fits the album well which is both a break up album & critique of the public. I think of TTPD as an album that showcases going through a heartbreak and also being judged and scrutinized by the public how you’re going through a heartbreak. It sucks from all ends.
  3. But Daddy I Love Him - a continuation from WAOLOM answering why is she so mad. This is also a very upbeat song and sonically different - sounds more country.
  4. The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived - perfect continuation after BDILH, she realizes she was in denial and she’s mad MAD.
  5. loml - the aftermath after all that anger. She’s still mad but now depressed :( feels like she’s acted like a fool but she’s accepted it’s time to let this relationship go.
  6. The Prophecy - I would end the album with the procephy because it’s sonically and lyrically a strong closer and it heartbreakingly brings up anyone’s anxiety in the aftermath of a break up - will I ever find the one? after all the heartbreak dug into on this album, it hurts even more to leave it at this question and her begging for a forever love.
The cuts I made were strategically to thematically keep this album as a break up album that also criticizes the unhealthy obsession the public has with her personal life. I think especially for casuals they had a hard time following this album because it jumps around a lot thematically depending on who the song is about. Unless you know the lore it’s hard to follow, this 13 track album makes it easier to follow a storyline and sonically these song choices have major differences from one another and there’s variation of quill to fountain songwriting.
How would you do it?

2024.05.19 05:44 sciguy11 Despite our plan to raise our kids bilingual, my immigrant wife has started speaking to them in (improper) English due to insecurities. Help?

My family immigrated to the US when my parents were in grade school. They grew up bilingual (Urdu and English).
I was born in the US and was bilingual until grade school started and then I completely lost (like, down to a few words) my ancestral language.
I am sure this sounds like I am whining, but hear me out. In my area there were many other Indian and Pakistani immigrants. Some kids were born in the US like me, others immigrated when they were young. I was the only one who didn't speak my mother tongue at that time.
At school everyone communicated in English, but the taunting, being accused of being "too Americanized", and "lacking culture" from my peers had a profound impact on me. At the time, my parents were taught by the school that if they spoke my home language to me, my English would suffer. So they said "you won't need it anyways". Obviously they don't know what negative affects would be, and to this day they still disagree with me on this. Heck, if you go on ABCDesis, one of the biggest complaints is when immigrant families don't teach their kids their home language.
I did end up learning Urdu at a later time in life, but I speak with a heavy accent and make grammatical mistakes. However, it gets the job done, and I am happy I was able to do this much. It was not easy, though, and it didn't have to be this hard.
This sounds crude, but ONE of the reasons I married my wife (who is not from the US) is because she was a native Urdu speaker. Yes, there were plenty of reasons I married her, and this was one of them. We planned to raise our kids speaking Urdu at home.
Since my childhood, things have changed in the world of linguistics. Now linguists say we should speak our home language at home, and that speaking improper English at home can be more damaging than not speaking English at all. It is counterintuitive but it seems to work. Despite all the haters saying my kids will have accents, they don't. Their English sounds like a native English speaker. They also know our home language fairly well considering the limited vocabular (basically just from the home).
Now here is where the issue begins. My wife seems to believe her friends (also immigrants, who are insecure about their English accents). They told her to speak English to the kids so "they won't suffer like us". So...she has started speaking English to our kids when I am not home. I work like 60 hour weeks, so that's a lot of time. My wife has an accent, but she also makes grammatical mistakes. This isn't an issue on its own, but it is relevant.
In a matter of a few months, our 9 year old has started responding in English. Our 5 year old already struggled and only understood our home language, and this is making it worse.
My wife and I have had brief discussions about this. My wife says "how can they learn English if we don't speak English" and "look at you, your English is good because your parents spoke English to you". The difference in my case is that I had a parent that was fluent, and even then this all did come at a cost (self esteem, identify issues).
I have a strong desire for our children to grow up knowing our home language. Besides us (the parents) there is nobody else for them to really learn it from. My parents speak to them in English. My wife's family is overseas and the kids only speak to them via phone/whatsapp a few hours a month. I work long hours, and I am not even the best person to teach them the language properly. How can I convince my wife to resume what we originally planned?

2024.05.19 05:39 entropyposting The babyproofing of the internet

Web 3.0 isn't blockchains and NFTs, it's the fact that a taco place in my neighborhood has its own mobile ordering app. I haven't downloaded it, but I walk by the sign sometimes and I can see a little preview of its sans serif font and its flat UI colored white and teal. If I want to go into the restaurant and order a taco, the only limits on my behavior are those I impose on myself out of a desire to be normal and not be a dick. But if I access the taco place's public API through the iOS app (gross, what the fuck), my message is restricted to the specific form the API requires.
The new web is characterized by a client-server model backed by infrastructure giants like AWS and Google Cloud. For the vast majority of internet users, all economic and social activity passes through one of a few platforms, a sort of digital kindergarten where your life is totally owned by whoever built the sandbox. This model brought the disappearance of free-form communication and an increasingly restricted online life circumscribed by the very same tech giants. The simple fact that most of these companies have "trust and safety" divisions implies that they feel a paternalistic responsibility to care for us and protect us on the computer. Like babies. Naturally, much like a real baby, the main things people like to do on the new internet are babble and ask other people to bring them food.
The trend toward flat, colorful minimalist interfaces built on React Native also reflects the move towards a baby-friendly internet. Even the buttons have rounded corners to protect your soft little skull in case you trip and hit your head.
This might be explained by inclusiveness. In the pursuit of maximum growth aka maximum inclusion, maybe we had to make interfaces so simple a toddler could use them. I remember years ago watching my 2-year-old cousin find apps on her mom's iPad with unnerving fluency. But I think the real reason is simpler. Wittingly or unwittingly, this structural mode of the internet creates owners with the authority of parents and users with the agency of children.

2024.05.19 05:35 Careless_Car9838 Best source for reference material when building a Lovecraft-inspired world?

Hello! I've been a Lovecraftian fan for quite a while now. Read quite some stories and some of my favourites were Call of Cthulhu, Shadow over Innsmouth, Haunter and The Hound.
I've been playing an old SNES classic, Earthbound, where they fight this cosmic horror thing called Giygas... and I cannot stop thinking about writing a little story inspired by Lovecrafts myths, Great Elders and supernatural events. But before I get lost in various Google searches, Wikipedia aside.... which has the best source for "official" artwork? I'm aware theres no such thing as the one definitive design. But I don't want to copy/paste a design of an artist either.
And are there explanations why Lovecraft chose certain names for places he mentioned in his stories? Like Dunwich or Innsmouth? I suck at geography and couldn't get behind the meaning. English isn't my first language, so please apologise my weird syntax.
Thank you in advance!

2024.05.19 05:34 1Mr_Mom I apologize if this is a common question, but the posts I found about it were years old. Do we know when Part 7 will get an English hardcover release?

I've read nearly through the entirety of SBR in an online colored english scan. But I'd love to be able to have all of it in my hands to read. I was hoping to be able to read Parts 7 and 8 through physical copies when I finished the Part 6 anime but was disapointed to find out that they seem to be on something of a slow release schedule.

2024.05.19 05:33 ToxicFriendsOriginal I saw a man with no head

So last year, during new years, when i was 11, i was in greece. and while i was there, i went in the subway for the first time with my mom (cuz i live in romania) and a friend of my mom tagged along. She also had children. One was 16, One was 14 and they only speaked english and greek. But this is not important. I was walking along with the rest, getting our tickets. When we entered the subway, we went trough a tunnel and right in front of us were the ticket machines. When we were at the atm machine, i looked back in the tunnel, just to see it pitch black. But when the lights came back in the tunnel, i saw a man with no head. He was facing towards me. I knew what i saw. That was no magician. That was no homeless man with a big coat. Anyways, when the creature looked at me, It started walking towards me. Now, because adrenaline hit me, i walked towards the creature, with fists made and i was walking at it with killer eyes. But not even 10 steps in amd my mom stopped me. Then she asked:
-What are you doing honey?
Of course, i had to tell her about the man. But she just shook it off and didn't look in the tunnel. So i did too. When we arrived back in the same subway with the same tunnel, we had to walk trough it to exit. When that happened, i was more cautious. The adrenaline helped a bit even adter i left the tunnel. Cuz when i left the tunnel, we went to a park and the girls were playing tag. And guess what. They made me the tagger first. So of course, with the adrenaline, i started ZOOMING to the 14 year old. When i tagged her, i was staright up gone. Nowhere to be seen. I was just behind her and feeling the adrenaline in me. Skip to the end, we went to our hotel room, i played some vr and went to bed. If anyone makes this a fears of phantom episode or even a youtube scary animated video or EVEN A REALISTIC HORROR VIDEO, please send it to my discord. It's ToxicFriends653 and you just have to say that "you watched my post and i made a video/game about it" and send me the video. That was it to be honest. Goodbye and adios

Introduction

The land of kings, Rajasthan, is popular all over the world due to its varieties of folk dances, tribes, miracles of the desert, magnificent forts, and palaces. Being one of the most famous state for its heirloom, its traditional attires are the most attractive and eye-catchy particularly the Lehenga Choli of Rajasthani outfits. This quintessential attire which gives us an idea of Rajasthan’s sheer artistry as well as rich cultural heritage is one that stands the test of time in the form of its excellently wrought designs, vibrant colors and the elegance of patterns – an emblematic dress that is a timeless epitome of the Rajasthan cultural treasury. Shall we dazzle in the royal elegance and timeless beauty of the Saree? With its magnificent embroidery on the bodice accentuating the waist, the vibrant colors and lehenga will make you the center of attention at any function.

The Lehenga Choli Design in Rajasthan's Royal Heritage

The rich history and heritage of the Rajasthani Lehenga Choli can be traced unearth as deep as its roots. Traditionally worn by women in Rajasthan, this ensemble consists of three pieces: the skirt (which is long), the blouse (readymade garment), and the scarf (which is long). These clothes are incredibly intricate and beautifully executed, and showcase the skills of local craftsmen and craftswomen.
Before things got changed, it could easily be noticed, that the Lehenga Choli was not only usual clothing, but also an inherent part of the royal apparel during festivals. The backdrop were the decorated designs on the royal families and nobility's lehengas with even more intricate embroidery, mirror work, and precious gemstones than we see today. These clothes are the depiction of either prosperity or of a simple ruler. They show the grandeur and royalty of the Rajasthan.

Craftsmanship and Artistry

From the handcrafted threadwork to the elaborate mirrorwork adornments, the Rajasthani Lehenga Choli epitomizes the best of traditional craftsmanship. Rajasthan's artisans, who are trained through generations, produce garments of various designs thus providing works of art to the world. Lachha, zari, zardozi, and gota work are some of the various embellishments to traditional outfits' appeal.

Embroidery

The most striking characteristics of a Rajasthani Lehenga Choli embellished with detailed workmanship occupy one of the highest positions. A wide range of edgy techniques such as zardozi, gota patti and mirror work get implemented for the most part. In Farsi, the word Zhardozi means weaving the gold and silver threads through the fabric to create stunning patterns which looks like shimmering with royal wealth. Gota patti, other widely used skill, this technique combines ribbon/lace and motifs coming into different forms of art and is more elegant and fashionable. Embellishment with adornments through the insertion of tiny mirrors sewed on the fabric is particularly appropriate in the case of ceremonies and other festive occasions.

Fabrics

The lehnenga is incomplete without the perfect selection of a fabric which will contribute to its overall personality. Commonly traditional Rajasthani lehengas are crafted on a variety of fabrics including silk, brocade and velvet, which not only add to their beauty but also make them elegant. Cotton and georgette on the other side may be used as well and this material are usually used in casual and semi-formal wear and offer the impression of comfort without losing style. It is usually dyed by the colors extracted from plant dz and minerals which make it fas to see the colours and be long-lasting as well.

Patterns and Motifs

The designs of Lehenga Choli Rajasthani are derived from the noble cultural inheritance and the abundant exquisite natural beauty of the stateMany themes both small and big appear, for example the peacocks, elephants, flowers, and complex geometric designs. The patterns have a multiple purpose: already the use of folklore motifs and natural elements, but also of the mythology meant to represent different aspects of existence. The extreme precision of their craft shown in every motif showcases the passion and experience of the artisan to make every piece exclusive.

Vibrant Colors

Rajasthan can be identified with saying that it paintings anything that is bright and bold. The colors are an outlet of a expressive culture. Bringing no less vibrancy and diversity color to the Rajasthani Lehenga Choli is not a surprise to anyone because of its spectrum full of colors that stun. This traditional color palette can be quite rich with shades such as regal blues, sunny yellows and summery greens. Every color is meaningful for people with cultural basis. Red stands for prosperity and marriage while yellow means joy and happiness. The essence of Rajasthan celebrates the spirit of life so the designers use such rich colors that the lehenga choli do not only stand out but they represent the exuberant palette of the state.

Contemporary Trends

Although the Rajasthani Lehenga Choli stays the life source of the traditional history, it is tremendously adaptable to the current fashion style. Designers of modern times have redesigned this timeless creation in order to provide the old-style tunics with the new, international styles that bring exotic feelings and looks.

Fusion Styles

Fusion styles are gaining more and more popularity in which traditional Rajsthani motifs are adapted to western outlines, but with modern prints over them. Take for example a lehenga that can be coupled with crop tops or be blouses, a boom that will bring a modern touch on the traditional outfit. The mixture of styles which are midwifed form the Lehenga Choli the chameleon-like that is fitting for a number of occasions from weddings to cocktail parties.

Minimalist Designs

whereas the elaborately decorated Lehenga Choli style of Rajasthan is the most common, simpler designs are also gaining quite popularity. These new interpretations shy away from heavily embellished and elaborate patterns, targeting those individuals with LARVES fashion choice. The main goal of this strategy is not to damage the beauty of the clothing, but it becomes a new interpretation of a classic one.

Sustainable Fashion

To my mind, the past few years have been greatly about sustainable fashion. The artisans and designers to some extent rely on organically sourced material/ dyed stuff, and companies choose to work with fair trade. This evolution toward the sustainability saves the age-old traditions of Rajasthani crafts happening as well as it appreciates the environmentally friendly consumers.

Conclusion

The Rajasthani lehenga choli remains times out of mind as an evidence to the dazzling cultural legacy and artistic prowess of Rajasthan. This involves thread and bead embroidery, applique, kitschy prints and intricate lace features that still engages the love of fashion world fans worldwide. It is not only the festivals, but the hengas and the lehengas that become the statement pieces in weddings, which are the carriers of the subtle charm during contemporary fashion shows, or are just worn during festive seasons, that embody the regal elegance and timeless charm that is all about Rajasthan. With this exhibition, not only we raise the flag for this unique artwork, but we take leave to pay tribute to the craftsmen who, by virtue of their devotion and skill, sustain this tradition for the following generations.

2024.05.19 05:21 pHallus_biggus Do you think From's next game will utilize a new engine and will be current gen exclusive?

We're halfway into the current console generation. But as of right now, Fromsoft is still working with the engine they had made back before 2015. All their games since Bloodborne have been using the same engine. They also have been using the 8th gen consoles as a baseline i.e. the game's are pretty much made with PS4/XB1 kept in mind.
I'm not saying that this is a negative to the quality of their games. Elden Ring is my personal favorite game of all time and ACVI is in my top 15, and they were released on both current and 8th gen consoles. But ngl I really want to see what fromsoft can do with a new engine, more effectively using the modern day hardware. Can possibly have an uncapped framerate too.
But what do yall think? Will they switch to a new one and make current gen exclusive games or keep using the old one?
