Hi everyone, I've been trying to scour the internet and other institutions on a situation like this but have yet to come across information that communicates what is best practice of using consent forms in this way.
I'm working on a study that has a few other research sites at other hospitals and one not covered entity under HIPAA. Is this normal to have a template consent for the study and for each site to have their own version of the consent with minor changes based on their own institutional requirements?
All sites are relying on a central IRB as per our contracts, but I'm a little confused as to who will be approving the other consent forms given that the participating sites that are covered-entities will also need HIPAA waiver specific language which we somewhat have already included but not in entirety in our "template" consent. Our template consent has been IRB approved and will be used for the site not covered under HIPAA.
Will our central IRB be the one to provide the final stamp of approval for the other local site consents? My sense is their local site changes still needs to be routed through their local IRB then up to our central. I haven't had anyone experience this and no one on my very tiny team has been able to offer some clarity to this. I've only ever worked on a trial that has the same consent being administered to participants across 30+ sites.

So i have this low end laptop from 2011 (Acer Aspire One 722) to use when i'm not home but it's practically unusabe at this point since it only has an AMD C-50 1GHz processor and 2gb DDR3 of RAM. Web browsing is extremely slow and some sites like Youtube aren't even worth trying to acess.
It currently is running on Windows 7 and i need to at least change the OS since even Steam no longer supports it but i don't know which one will be better for this laptop. If there's even hope for this laptop i would appreciate your help.

Hello! I am a rising senior in Massachusetts who's interested in CS (and business to a lesser extent). I have a list of colleges that I'm looking at so far, but I'd like some more input on how to make my list more balanced and what other colleges I should be looking at.
Relevant Stats: - 3.98 UW / 4.47 W - 1530 SAT (750RW, 780M) - 7-8 APs by end of Senior year - Noncompetitive Public HS - Indian Male
Extracurriculars: - Coding Club Co-President: taught others introductory concepts with python, expanded club membership from 3 to 14 members, hosted first club wide hackathon. - Impact Team Co-Lead (on a FIRST robotics team): Ran an FLL scrimmage and taught young kids STEM concepts, presented at the district and state level, allowing our team to win the Engineering Inspiration award and qualify for the FIRST Championship in Houston. - Site Logistics head of our school’s volunteer organization, directly involved in organizing location setups for major school events (for 100+ people). - DECA competitor, won awards at the state and district level and qualified for internationals. - Track and Field: Configured automatic timing system for use in local dual meets and at our school’s invitational meet; competed at district level and am a state championship qualifier for 110m hurdles. - Worked at Dunkin Donuts as a crew member during the summer before my junior year.
Preferences: I'd like a more rural/college town campus (I really liked the environments of UMass Amherst, UT Austin, and WPI when I visited), as I don't really prefer urban environments (disliked NEU when I toured). I would also like to stay in the Northeast to be closer to my family, but I wouldn't mind going beyond the Northeast or into an urban environment if I was able to get better opportunities through co-ops and internships. I also would prefer small class sizes.
Cost: Preferably ~40k, max would probably be 50-60k after aid.

So I 26f and my bf 28m had a fight about somebody he’s following on ig. It’s a girl from his college sports that he bearly knows. Yesterday he told me how she was there and acted like a pick me and he judged her behavior. This girl is 20. So i confronted him about why he follows her on ig when shes such a pick me and why he talks about this to me. I have a past with being very judgy and talking shit about people. I hate this site of me and I worked hard to change this as much as I could before we even met. He unfollowed her since he thought I said this out of jealousy but then I said well you can just follow her again and say it was a mistake. He then proceeded to say that he might get himself in an awkward situation. But in the end he still followed her again on ig. I feel stupid about all of this. He claims to him it’s important to do whatever he feels like on his socials. I feel like an idiot having to argue with an almost 30 year old man why the fuck its so important to him to follow his 20y/o colleague that he bearly knows and talks to.
I would talk about this to my friends but tbh it feels very embarrassing that this is even an issue.

TLDR: when should you sign a representation agreement
Not to long ago, my partner and I on a whim (without have a realtor yet) decided to book a tour of a home for sale. After booking a viewing online, we got a phone call asking if we had a realtor in order to see the place, we said no so a realtor from the site was assigned to work with us. He’s been very helpful and knowledgeable and we’ve now actually seen several homes with him. At the same time that he was assigned to us, my parents passed along the info of the realtor they used to buy 2 properties (who I’ve met 2 years ago and have some knowledge of her professional skills) and a conversation started with that realtor. So we caught ourselves in a pickle with 2 realtors trying to help us out but not knowing who to go with.
The random realtor hasn’t really mentioned anything about signing a representation agreement however the referred realtor used by my parents wanted us to sign an agreement prior to even viewing one home. She has heard our concerns that prior to signing anything we would like to meet her to become better acquainted since this is a major milestone and you want to make sure you have the best representation. (my girlfriend doesn’t know her at all and I only met her once 2 years ago). So with that being said, as a trial run we could sign an agreement to view 1 house with her. If all is good we’d proceed to sign an agreement for a longer duration. She is also aware that we had this random realtor assigned which makes me think that’s why she’s pushing for this? She did bring up the fact that if the randomly assigned realtor hasnt even told us about this agreement is there any other details he’s perhaps forgetting to tell us etc? It’s a valid point but we’re questioning if it’s more a scare tactic to getting us to sign something. She’s been helpful and sending us a bunch of listings and I personally like to use someone who is referred. My gf likes the random realtor who has also been helpful and already taken the time to show us multiple properties.

Hi all! We (3 adults) are planning a half day at HS - 1PM until 8PM. We have been to the Star Wars rides in California many times. I tried to input this plan in TouringPlans, but am getting some errors. I am staying on-site at GF so I think I can start making my LL/LL+ reservations at 7AM. We are going end of October and our half day HS will be on a Saturday and we are flying in that Saturday AM arriving at 10:30AM.
Rides we are aiming for are ROTR (ILL), Slinky, Smuggles, TS Mania, MMRR, and maybe Rock n Rollercoaster if time allows. We are prioritizing waiting in line the least.
7AM - Book LL for Slinky and hope for an afternoon time or keep modifying and ILL for ROTR.
Arrive at MCO at 10:30AM, uber to GF and check in/drop off bags, book 2nd ILL for MMRR
12:30 to 1PM arrive at HS, get Ronto Roasters for lunch, book 3rd LL for TS Mania
1-4PM Ride ILL/LL booked rides, explore the park, book LL for Rock n Rollercoaster (not a must) and single rider Smuggler's
4PM Oga's Cantina for a break and some drinks and snacks
5-7:30 Shop, explore, ride more rides if wait isn't too long or its a late LL return.
7:30 Head out of park for dinner at Flying Fish or Jaleo (do you prefer one or the other?)
Is watching Fantasmic worth it? Is it worth the dining package for VIP seating?

I’ve been physician leader in urgent care, one step below medical director for about four years. My department is probably going to be sold. Upper management has been distant for a long time. We’re staying afloat through grit and determination, but it’s not gonna last forever.
I have an opportunity to transfer to another department as a primary care doc. My immediate boss would be someone who used to be my coequal, whom I helped train. His part of the department was sold, and he stayed on, being offered the same leadership role for primary care. If my part had been sold, I’m confident I would have had that role.
I have multiple other possibilities, but the only one that really excites me is a couple states away, about a 3 hour drive. I’d be working coequal with the person who used to be my medical director. The current medical director of the other site has informed me that they are likely to be promoted soon, and I would be very likely to get that medical director role. My counterpart, who used to be my medical director, has made it known to me that they are not interested in the medical director spot. They’ve had a successful career, and have previously mentored me, and may be looking to retire soon.
If I were to take the local primary care role, I would no longer be “always on call,” my days off would be truly days off. I could just focus on my two daughters, both under two years old. The office is a short drive away. It would be comparatively easy, possibly relaxing.
My former counterpart would be my boss, and although he vehemently insists that he would do everything in his power to help me into an administrative role, I worry I’d just be doing extra work to make him look better. The company has been contracting, eliminating positions left and right. They’re a huge multinational company, but it feels like there’s no one steering the ship. They expanded too fast and they’ve been course correcting. Probably, eventually, there would be an opening for an administrative role, but I’ve seen this company shuffle in and out various administrators, but nothing sticks.

I have an opportunity to transfer to another department as a primary care doc. My immediate boss would be someone who used to be my coequal, whom I helped train. His part of the department was sold, and he stayed on, being offered the same leadership role for primary care. If my part had been sold, I’m confident I would have had that role.
I have multiple other possibilities, but the only one that really excites me is a couple states away, about a 3 hour drive. I’d be working coequal with the person who used to be my medical director. The current medical director of the other site has informed me that they are likely to be promoted soon, and I would be very likely to get that medical director role. My counterpart, who used to be my medical director, has made it known to me that they are not interested in the medical director spot. They’ve had a successful career, and have previously mentored me, and may be looking to retire soon.
If I were to take the local primary care role, I would no longer be “always on call,” my days off would be truly days off. I could just focus on my two daughters, both under two years old. The office is a short drive away. It would be comparatively easy, possibly relaxing.
My former counterpart would be my boss, and although he vehemently insists that he would do everything in his power to help me into an administrative role, I worry I’d just be doing extra work to make him look better. The company has been contracting, eliminating positions left and right. They’re a huge multinational company, but it feels like there’s no one steering the ship. They expanded too fast and they’ve been course correcting. Probably, eventually, there would be an opening for an administrative role, but I’ve seen this company shuffle in and out various administrators, but nothing sticks.

i am in process of going from godaddy to nixi after trying to go from godaddy to hostgator then reading reddit. i saw the error of my way. HG couldnt transfer my domain while both site said they could. i decided after reddit if i need to sadly take a loss i will but signed up with nixi, was able to get everything started. i am getting 3/4 refund bc i added a non refundable service.
moving forward i am hoping reddit can help with best practices/ or what i should do.

Hi all! We (3 adults) are planning a half day at HS - 1PM until 8PM. We have been to the Star Wars rides in California many times. I tried to input this plan in TouringPlans, but am getting some errors. I am staying on-site at GF so I think I can start making my LL/LL+ reservations at 7AM. We are going end of October and our half day HS will be on a Saturday and we are flying in that Saturday AM arriving at 10:30AM.
Rides we are aiming for are ROTR (ILL), Slinky, Smuggles, TS Mania, MMRR, and maybe Rock n Rollercoaster if time allows. We are prioritizing waiting in line the least.
7AM - Book LL for Slinky and hope for an afternoon time or keep modifying and ILL for ROTR.
Arrive at MCO at 10:30AM, uber to GF and check in/drop off bags, book 2nd ILL for MMRR
12:30 to 1PM arrive at HS, get Ronto Roasters for lunch, book 3rd LL for TS Mania
1-4PM Ride ILL/LL booked rides, explore the park, book LL for Rock n Rollercoaster (not a must) and single rider Smuggler's
4PM Oga's Cantina for a break and some drinks and snacks
5-7:30 Shop, explore, ride more rides if wait isn't too long or its a late LL return.

I have no canonical tag mismatches, and I properly use hreflang tags.
My question is when I search my name, whether MyCompany or MyCompany.com, in site links, I see a mix of .com/en-ca and .com/en-au URLs.
If somebody from Canada was searching my business and came across my .com/en-ca site in serps, I wouldn't want the listing to suggest, let's say, .com/en-au content. Is there any way to ensure that the site links listed only relate to the main URL it is indexing?
It just seems like this would create a high bounce rate because people would be going to the incorrect country's specific subfolder store.

I especially enjoyed a site that went to great lengths to debunk dozens of claims made in Oliver Stone's famous JFK movie from 1991. It was a rabbit hole in every sense - unravelling all of Mr. X enigma, who was largely based on Col. L. Fletcher Prouty, took so much time... and it's just one of many fascinating aspects of that story. At that point, I didn't even need to order books or research Warren Commission's / HSCA reports myself, because so much was beautifully laid out by people more qualified for the job.
