The wife and I feel like sinking some time into a video game and have been considering ESO. However, having been "burned" by MMOs that don't offer what we were looking, I figured I'd ask.
We're mainly interested in questing as a party of two. We like our MMOs dangerous, a lot like Classic WoW (which we're played to death), where walking into a group of mobs like a dumbass is death wish rather than a power fantasy wish fullfilment. Another turn off is questinf that can't be played in multiplayer, solo instanced stuff. Kind of defeats the purpose of playing an MMO for us. Endgame isn't even a consideration for us, we'll likely just do leveling until we grow bored of it, so the leveling has to be at least somewhat engaging.

Alrighty, so I wanna play something generalistic action with weapons. No sneaking and stuff, maybe a bit. But more action oriented. I want to shoot and stuff, but I don't want it to be like Pistol Whip, more like I walk around in locations and stuff.
I'd be happy to play some milisim, but not too hardcore, and not multiplayer.
Games I've tried are TWD and Into the Radius. So, I want something else :) If ITR was more shooting oriented it would be great choice.

I played this game a little bit almost 2 years ago, then i uninstalled it on my pc. Few months back i bought ps5 then I installed it again, i took review from my friend, he said its mind blowing now. Then I started playing then game crashed on very first mission then again i stopped again. Last week I wanted to play something beside online multiplayer games. Then i decided I’ll play cyberpunk 2077 again, after that I started playing. Further I’m playing I’m going dipper into the story and I’m loving every single moment of it. Story is amazing one of best I’ve ever played.

Heyo, I'm the creator of "Death Follows", a Forge modpack centered around a multiplayer experience! This modpack originally started based on the Cursed Walking modpack made by OnMod. I asked him if I could take what he put together and expand on it, making a fork of his modpack, to which he allowed.
A quick rundown of Death Follows for those who are interested ( Here is the link if you dont want spoilers )
Death Follows is based around a multiplayer experience. I HIGHLY recommend using Cursed Walking if you want a much simpler modpack not adding some of the things that Death Follows offers. Cursed Walking feels more alone. It feels more like its just you in the world. WHICH IS A GREAT FEELING, however I like the idea of the threat of other people being around. The real thought you need to put in the game and considering if you want to be secluded, just trying to survive each day without dying, or are you going to make a showcase of a base that shows you want people to just try and defeat you. Also great for a hardcore experience!
Some of the notable things I would say are as follows:

• Create mod
• Point Blank Guns
• Runs shaders on mediocre PCs real well (even w/o shaders its still very well put together, for reference, my build is a 1660 super with an i5 10400f, and I get 75fps consistently with *shaders, but for potato pcs, there is a shaderpack for you too, or just of course the option to opt out)
• Attempting to use the best optimizations out to keep a good system going
• Improved mobs, allowing for a difficulty scale as time goes on, to keep a reason for gathering supplies and resources to survive waves of hordes
• Lost Cities mod, while the official server will not have it on due to the monster spawner lag that creates, the option for singleplayer users is there, and it is a great addition to the experience!
• Custom datapacks (on the discord only) to improve the game for more casual players. While the basics of the game give great progression, it does seem like a bigger learning curve for users trying to play casually to survive the horde (Consider it a level of going from hard difficulty, to medium)

I am just wondering if this game allows multiple save files. I want to keep my multiplayer save but also have my own single player save. is this possible?

I haven't played Factions for years ever since I got the platinum trophy for the original The Last of Us, but after they canceled the new stand-alone multiplayer game I decided to go back to the original and I'm surprised at how good the multiplayer mode still is! I just love the slow-paced, grounded style of these games!
That being said it's honestly a strange occurrence when there isn't at least one person telling me just how bad I am on the voice chat every match, honestly it gives me some classic Call of Duty lobby flashbacks haha, I try to mute and avoid them as much as possible but I'd like to get better at the game and feel like I'm actually contributing to my team so I'd be immensely grateful if you guys could give me a few tips at how to get better at the game.

I know I’m very late to the party with this, but I recently saw Emesis Blue, made by the same people who made Spy’s Disguise, and here are my thoughts on it.
This may be an unpopular opinion, but I don’t really like this video, nor do I understand why so many YouTubers are saying that it’s a masterpiece.
It looks visually stunning, I’ll admit. Fortress Films did an amazing job with the animation and textures, as well as the sound design.
They really capture the essence of the films they reference, which leads into my main issue with the film.
This movie is nothing but a ton of references and scenes from a bunch of horror media (most notably The Shining), with no consistent theme or story.
We have zombies, a Grey team composed of science defect victims, a Mr X/Nemesis clone, super corrupted RED Team members, mad scientists, a drug that causes hallucinations, a kidnapper, a plot to kill the Mann Brothers, a spooky video tape, immortal mercenaries, time loops, limbo, and the horrors of the respawn machine.
FEEL OVERWHELMED YET?
A few of these can make a great story, but elements such as time loops make no sense when the story seemingly revolves around drugs and the suffering of the Mercenaries via respawn.
Heck, by the time of the big reveal where we see the fake label on the pill bottle, which says Emesis, I was completely lost, and I had no idea what the payoff was supposed to be.
I understand that this story is left intentionally vague, and I know people like piecing together stories, but there still have to be enough pieces in the first place.
If I leave a film with more questions than answers, then WHAT WAS THE POINT?
This is what happens when most of the movie is just scenes pulled from other movies, there is no focus in the plot.
I know that a lot of games and movies these days have multiple references to other media, but the referenced scenes don’t build a consistent or cohesive story around them, and instead are just lifted from the original source.
Take a look at the baseline story.

• Someone kidnaps Scout.
  
• A Medic tries to find the missing Scout, while being pursued by a Detective and a War veteran.
  
• Clues lead them to an old base, where Scout has been tortured to death by a Grey team.
  
• Medic meets a reanimated Heavy that was killed earlier, as well as the War veteran and a Demo.
  
• They navigate an underground complex, trying to find a missing Civilian that was also kidnapped, and has a connection to the pills Medic prescribes.
  
• The Detective escapes a Pyro but gets badly burnt.
  
• They encounter zombies and corrupted RED team mercs.
  
• They encounter time loops.
  
• They discover a broken respawn machine, where Scout dies again.
  
• The Civilian gets shot by the Detective.
  
• Medic gets blamed for all the murders.
  
• The War veteran gets shot by the Detective, who falls into a crystal cave with a corpse pit.
  
• Medic reanimates himself a few times.
  
• The Mann Brothers die.
  
• Medic dies while escaping the scene and ends up in limbo with the other dead characters.
  
• There’s a revelation about the Emesis pills.
  

You see what I mean?
I didn’t even mention some of the other scenes, and already this plot feels overly-convoluted.
This movie is a visual treat, but without any substance in its plot as a whole.
It’s just a compilation of random horror scenes and tropes.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s okay to make your audience think, but you need a payoff, some form of answer that ties it all together without leaving any major questions still floating.
For instance, WHY WERE THERE TIME LOOPS?
Even the concept of a horror story about respawn machines was done better in Hoovydundy, since it didn’t try to be smarter than it needed to be, and was still a scary and entertaining story with good visuals.
Sorry if this is too negative for readers or fans of the film, but I guess the constant appraisal that this film is a masterpiece raised my expectations too highly, and I hope having read this that you can understand why.
However, I am open to hearing why you all like it so much, so if you want, please reply why.
I really want to understand why this film gained the praise that it received.

So I’ve seen posts about people having a hard time loading save data, like it’s loading you from a past save. I can’t really find a fix for my situation though. What I’ve realized since it first started happening: -My game loads from an old save point, but my world is completely fine and up to date it’s just my character that isn’t. It’s been happening since the second time I ever loaded in. -It loads fine if I’m not on WiFi, but me and my daughter want to player multiplayer, so, WiFi needed. -When I originally started multiplayer with her I thought it was making me start all the way over with my CHARACTER but the world was where I left it, was trying to find an answer how you load your current character and found that wasn’t the case, that I was just starting back at that last point. I don’t want to lose all my progress. -So when I went to play single the other day I load me and my daughters save, and that character loaded fine and exactly where I left it. Here is what I’ve done to try and fix the issue: Restart console Try loading different saves Making sure I didn’t have too many saves Redownloading grounded
Nothing has worked

As a new player entering the pokémon franchise in 2024, i’ve been looking into the ds/gba titles. But both platinum and black/white both looked amazing.
For Black and White i’ve read it’s more story rich and has more side tasks to do. I have both white and black, as well as white 2 and black 2. But is there any major difference between the colors? What makes White/Black 2 “better” then platinum?
Looking at platinum i like how the game runs, feels, and looks. So far i think it’s grasp my attention the most. I really like sticking to 1 pokémon game, and i heard the shiny hunting in platinum can be fun. Although is there any major features it lacks compared to black/white?
Which games have the most pokémon? which are the hardest? Do any offer online/multiplayer capabilities?
Overall which one is the best?

Idea

Since I've heard about the abilities and the goals of the mangod I've been thinking about a game where one person plays as the mangod.
It might make sense to use the world of MT, but it's not neccessary for this game.

Thoughts

I wasn't sure how it would work. I thought it would have to be a narrative game. Every character and their stories would have to be set up manually. That's a lot of effort, and it the end you would just finish the game once. Or maybe reach all endings once, and that's it. In the end you would just click all paths. It wouldn't really be strategic.
I thought it would be nice if it was more strategic. Similar to Sudoku, or even more like Minesweeper. You have limited knowledge of the world. There are simple rules. Sometimes you might have to guess. And if you make a mistake it's over.
While reading I always thought of it as huge decision trees. Multiple lines going out from each character, depending on their decisions. And most of them lead to the mangod dying. The mangod would always look at all the paths and try to find one which doesn't lead to his death.
So I thought, it would make sense if for each (important) character a huge decision tree will be generated. And all the decision trees will be connected (so a decision of person A might influence the decisions of person B later).
Depending on the setting it might be possible to see the future of all charactres. But I guess being able to track the future of multiple hundreds of characters would be overkill.
It's was never clear to me why the mangod wasn't able to switch desciples all the time. Maybe I missed it somehow. But if it's possible to look at the future of somebody, he would know his future, and so he wouldn't even have to switch back. So in the end he could just see the future of all characters. And that might be overpowerd. So if his restriction is explained somewhere, I would like to know.
However, I think in a game it would make sense if the mangod never sees all possible paths of the furture of some person. And besides that, it's only possible to switch desciples once per step. An step could be a day, month, year...
I have these basic ideas: - see all possible paths of the person, but only the paths which don't require any interference by other persons - see all paths of the person, but only the paths which can be reached by influencing - only see a few steps in advance, and the likelyhood of important outcomes (especially the death of the mangod, maybe also the death of other characters)
So these huge decision trees for each character might be generated in advance. But they might also be only generated partially.
Generating a decision tree for a single character, who only has two options every year, which would lead to more than one quadrillion (1,000,000,000,000,000) paths. That might be difficult to program, and even more difficult to keep track of when playing as the mangod. So it would be more reasonable if there are only around 10 important events a character might take part in, which also influence the lives of other characters. Most other things are likely rather unimportant.
But there might be different paths to reach one of these important points. For example you want to avoid some characters to get children, there are different paths they could end up together. So you would just have to avoid these if most of your deaths rely in this event. So these unimportant decisions usually add up to become important. But in the end, many decisions don't change a lot and just lead to the same or the same few paths (strong fate).
It would be nice if these trees could be generated automatically. It would still be neccessary to fill them with story I guess. It wouldn't need to be complicated story. Just simple events like "Person A dies", "Person A impregnates person B", "Person A becomes king", "Person A moves from place X to Y", etc. So maybe generating these automatically should work, too. Maybe somehow generating mini stories, which could be used to generate huge stories. I guess using modern AI wouldn't make much sense, though.

Gameplay

The basic game loop might look like this: - you play as the mangod - each step (day, month, year) you select your three deciples - you can look through their possible futures (trees containing around 10 important possible events, and maybe hundreds of unimportant events; not everything might be visible from the beginning) - you can tell each charactre some information you know - then the next step begins - the game ends when the mangod dies - the goal of the mangod might be one of these: - survive for a fixed time - kill some enemy (like Orsted) - ensure there are only paths which don't lead to death (maybe by killing Orsted)
It's probably easier as a single player game where all the characters are NPCs. The NPCs might just always go the same path if the mangod doesn't interfere. But there might also be some randomness instead. Maybe the only "randoness" might come from special characters, which cannot be seen (basically Orsted).
But it might also make sense as a multiplayer game. Either online, or if possible even some kind of table top. But since the mangod would always have three deciples, there should be way more other players (but the rules could also be tweaked so the mangod can only have one desciple at a time). So as a realtime online game it would probably make more sense.
If it's a multiplayer game, the main problem is, that the players already know that the mangod doesn't care about them. So it might be difficult to make them trust the mangod. There would have to be some gameplay mechanic, which makes it reasonable for the mangod to tell the truth. Building trust doesn't work. In the end, the players already know that the mangod would only build trust to betray them one day. Maybe the mangod could explain to somebody that they have the same goals, and the other player might believe it, so they would gladly work together.

Similar game ideas

I already had ideas for similar games before. A game about the mangod would be a mix between the two.

Strategy game

A strategy game, where you follow the stories of multiple charactres (similar to Samurai Warriors 3). Each character has their own story, but depending on which battles you win and lose with each character, or which paths you choose, you might have different paths for other characters.

Demon possesion

You are a demon and always posses one character. You can just live inside them and do nothing, but you can also influence them in various ways. You can communicate to them directly, or you can just give them ideas and feelings. You can be honest or you can lie. You can control their bodies by force or you can make them consent to controlling their bodies.
There might be three ways to switch the person you posses: - you are locked into a magic artifact, like a ring, so the possessed person have to give the ring to the other person - just be close enough - be close and the other person needs to be in a vulnerable state of mind (maybe sad, maybe in love, maybe while being intimate)
It would likely be an episodic game. You would probably start on a small island with only 5 people and have to leave this island at first. And in the end you might get your body back or kill the person who banned you.

Implementation

I doubt I'll actually try to program it for real, but it might be helpful that I've already written a performant perti net simulator in C. Perti nets can be used to represent connected decision trees.

Barely remember it. Played it in 2008-2010 i think. It was a car game where u were in like a zombie infected city i think. I remember u could kill zombies. U also could create ur own tracks. One weird thing i remember idk if it was a mod installed by my uncle there was a naked women driver who would moan faster the faster u drove. Maybe it was just a big fever dream

I currently play games such as: Valorant, League (mainly arams), DbD, CS2, OW2, and Minecraft (though I have a ton of other multiplayeco-op games in my library).
I am someone who likes to mess around/banter, and I'm very positive, upbeat, and outgoing (but not abrasive or obnoxious, more on the chill side). I'm quite playful and silly as I like to make jokes, and keep things lighthearted, and [I'm looking for someone similar who can also maintain a positive attitude] (i.e. outgoing, upbeat, etc.).
(Keep in mind, I don't rage or get upset at games, and I don't get along with those who do as it freaks me out and puts me off. Though if we play a competitive game, I'll still try my best and I won't get upset if we lose and I hope you won't either. - But please don't troll on purpose)

Hi! I’m relatively new to playing the game legitimately (not spamming world wars and winning via nuclear holocaust) and would like to try to move to actually standing a chance in multiplayer. What are some of the best early game strategies ? Should I rush wonders or try to boost my science as much as possible or city growth etc?

I got the 100% Achievement on the regular game before 1.4 came out (yup, chased down all the Gold Cards.... fun) so that includes getting all the molars there. But now in NG+ (1, 2, and 3) I have done everything required to get 100% (yup, even the stuff not required to move on to the next NG+ level, like the Mix.Rs, killing the Infected Broodmother and Director Schmector, etc.) and collected all available molars but it keeps saying 99%, find more milk molars. I saw someone else discussing this and they said that the reason is that the game wasn't programmed to acknowledge that NG+ only has 66 molars instead of 78 like in the regular game, so it thinks we are short 12 molars. They tested this by using a mod to give themselves 12 extra molars, and it then gave them 100% on the report card.
Has anyone gotten it to give 100% once on NG+? If not let this be a warning that for now at least, if you don't get 100% BEFORE GOING TO NG+, you will not be able to until the devs fix this, and I have not even seen this in a Known Issues list yet.
EDIT: I definitely have done everything required and have everything for sure including the note, Sca.B and recipes that came with 1.4. The hint it's giving is about molars but I haven't missed one at any point on my way to NG+3. I have befriended, poisoned and infected the queens, even got the gold cards for all the infected ants. I've bought all ASL stuff including all the seasonal stuff, and the re-purchasable stuff at least once. All mutations are unlocked, even the ones from multiplayer, and I have all trinkets including the Deuces thing. Heck I even have the Cupid Arrows and the Lucky Hat, lol.

Today I received a newsletter from GOG which included deals for several Worms games, however I’m not sure which one(s) to buy since some of them seem to not have online multiplayer. For me it’s down to Armageddon, Worms 2, WMD and Mayhem (I don’t think this one has online multiplayer on GOG or Steam, though). Do you own any Worms games on GOG, and if so, which one(s) do you recommend? Thanks very much!

no, mr dev your game will not be able to handle the amount of ppl on release day. having a 5 hour queue definitely does suck but it actually is way better for public perception. they see the long queue as a "wow this game is popping off" rather than "this game is broken and doesn't work". For a paid game this might be more complicated bc ppl want to play as soon they play (even though it's functionally the same if the servers are broken day 1) but this game is free and all free multiplayers need to start doing queues on release imo.
