Love his relationship with Lily. Love how he’s always warm and welcoming to all the kids. Love how he is always so ready to openly show his love for Mitch and for his passions and isn’t afraid to be his eccentric self.
Not a fan of how manipulative he is. The Cake-topper episode was where he really annoys me. Acting like this cake topper meant so much to him. Emphasized that it was a symbol of his father’s acceptance of their relationship.
When his plan all along was to make sure Mitch hated it so much that he would pretend to give Mitch a veto if it meant Cam got a veto as well. Mitch accepts and right away Cam says he vetos the DJ that Mitch really liked.

Hi, I’m cross shopping v6 Camaros and Mustangs and I’m interested in the 3.7l v6 model of Mustang. Priority #1 for me is reliability, so would I be ok going with the mustang or is the Chevy 3.6 more reliable?

Help needed identifying this truck who stole our trailer and most all of our stuff
This guys stole our UHaul trailer with most of our stuff in it in Aurora Colorado last week. It looks like it's a Chevy truck to me but I'm not sure. Can anyone tell us more about this truck so we can give the data to the police so they can try to track it down better? The police doesn't have the resources I guess and aren't doing anything so we are hoping that if we provide them with data, that they will may be try to track it down.
It looks greenish or greyish to us. Stolen at 05:30AM with low/little sun light so that may affect the color on screen. 4 doors, topper, roof rack. What is special/unique-ish about this truck? It looks like he has a grey/silver plastic looking trim around his front wheel well. Also something is around his driver side door handle?
Color, year, make, model etc. etc. etc.
I think I was able to attach the video but I'm not sure. I can figure it out later I hope.
Any and all help will be much appreciated.

2024.05.21 12:28 spiirel “Men are useless” mentality caused issues at my wedding

For months leading up to our wedding my mom made comments like “we’ll send the men to the bar during wedding prep so they’ll be out of the women’s hair” and “I hope the venue bar opens early so the guys can drink during the setup hour”. I told her each time that my husband (and other male family and friends) would not be excused to go drink while women were made to do all the work.
Cut to this weekend - my mom immediately asks where my useless male in-laws are going during the wedding prep… while being introduced to them. A few jaws were on the floor and I said “every man with two hands is required to help. There’s a lot to get done and the venue only allows an hour to set up decorations.” This almost became a meme with a couple of the guys scrubbing glass frames as loudly as possible, offering to clean our apartment, and when there was (truly) nothing left to do they were taking coffee orders and running to get them. I seriously don’t know what I would’ve done without my husband’s help either, I can’t imagine sending him away.
On the other hand, my boomer parents either showed up an hour late or extremely early to everything and then complained about how nothing was starting on time. Including my dad taking the only vehicle to go have long-winded boomer-style conversations with the employees at an audio store which held up the next event by an hour.
I had a document with all the timing, decor tutorials, and checklists that went completely ignored. They continued to brag about how useless the men in my family were - but my brother was single-handedly solving last minute issues. My parents have always been a self-fulfilling prophecy of thinking the lowest of all of our abilities. Then my mom gets frustrated when my brother and dad meet her expectations.
As a bonus boomerism - my mom kept sneaking decor, “family traditions”, and other things into the wedding without asking throughout the weekend. I told her point-blank when she started confronting me with these “surprises” I would’ve preferred she bring this up months ago instead of springing it on me. During the wedding I noticed she put a cake topper next to the cake (mercifully not on it) my sisters-in-law pulled me aside and said my mom had called my mother-in-law weeks ago and asked her to locate her own cake topper. My sisters-in-law noticed these toppers were not mentioned in any of the decor checklists and asked their mom to lie about not being able to find the cake topper. My in-laws truly prove boomerism is a mentality because they are the same age as my parents but drastically different.
Luckily the wedding was beautiful and I’m so happy with the outcome. I’m trying not to let these small details get me down (but that’s a job for my therapist).

2024.05.21 01:05 0lx__xl0 Birthday cake

Rarely dream now, but strangely did last night... Dreamt that it was my birthday, and for the first time ever, a friend (not too close now) sent me a beautiful customised cake from one of my favourite baker.. However, when trying to take some photos of it, the toppers blocking eachother, wanted to make all visible... Three "friends" (they seemed to be friends of mine, was the only people attending the party, but I have no clue who they are, don't recognise their faces, and they don't seem to be nice.) tried to help, for some reasons they ended up cutting up the cake into small pieces, destroying the cake. I was so very sad, and angry... Because I didn't have a photo as memory of the only time someone gave me something thoughtful on my birthday... Fiercely told the three "friends" I'd never wanna see them again... Dream ended with a walk along side the friend that gave me the cake, and another friend of ours, while telling them what happened to the cake..

Should I have a cank ground or buy a reman?
I bought an engine, and the crank got rusty sitting in my garage, should I have it ground or buy a reman for $300ish.
It had rod knock and fairly bad rust. A shop said they can polish or grind it, and basicly do the whole bottom end for $850. Is this reasonable, or should I just buy a reman and go from there?

2024.05.20 22:12 Vivid-Bed8453 Worst Warranty Experience of my life

Worst Warranty Experience of my life
It all started about two months ago. My Camaro blew its starter, but since I have an extended warranty I towed it to a Chevy dealer.
First issue, the finance manager who sold me the warranty messed up the paperwork. I had to go back and forth between both dealers to get the actual coverage I signed up for, pure negligence.
Second issue, once I got my warranty reinstated, the warranty company then said my issue was pre-existing to the upgrade (NO SHXT). Thankfully after another week of back and forth, the dealer who sold me the warranty said they’ll just pay for my repair because of their negligence.
Third issue, they started on my car a week after they got the OK to repair. THEN, they stripped my exhaust manifold bolts that bolt right into the motors head. The vehicle got sent to a machine shop and sat there for another week and a half.
Fourth issue, once they got my vehicle back they blew my fuse box which delayed repairs for quite literally another week.
No joke I just got my car back after two months, for a 3-4 hour repair. What the fxck did I just go through. Here’s my 2SS though!!

2024.05.20 21:41 888888888888888887 Trading cars on fb marketplace

Okay, I’ve had my car since 2019. It is a 2020 Toyota Corolla with 104,000 miles on it (I like to road trip)
I found a car I reallllly love on Facebook marketplace, he said he’s wanting to trade. I haven’t told him yet what I have and if he’s even willing to trade because I wanted advice first.
The reason I want to trade my car is because of the amount of flat tires I’ve been getting. I’ve been with my boyfriend for 1 1/2 and for that year and a half that we’ve known each other I’ve literally had 7 entire flat tires. (Potholes are terrible in SC)
I am spending 115$ every single time I get a flat (which is more often than not) and I just want a car that I actually enjoy. I was 18 when I got the Corolla and it’s a cute car and it’s reliable and Toyotas will go forever, but I’m just not happy with it. I’m very grateful to even have a choice in the matter but I am wanting your advice on what you would do in my shoes.
The car I want to trade with is on fb marketplace. It’s a 1992 Chevy Camaro RS 25th anniversary edition and it’s a beautiful blue. It’s got 150,000 miles
My car is a 2020 Toyota Corolla SE with 104,000 miles and it’s in the shade black sand pearl. The only issues with my car are the dented rims and just cosmetic stuff that can be corrected with paint pens (which I have)
If you were in my boat would you trade with the guy? Or is that car considered “too old”

2024.05.20 18:30 velociraptorfarmer It's time to dispel some myths about trucks and towing/hauling that need to die

There are a number of blindly parroted statements that keep getting posted here over and over via circle jerks that need to stop considering they're patently false and can be disproven by anyone capable of taking 10 seconds to run a google search.
I know that's a high bar to clear for many people, so I went ahead and ran the numbers for you. I chose to use Fords since they're the most common model out there, and have the widest range in available sizes (full size, modern midsize, old compact, new trucklet).
Full size trucks have not grown appreciably in decades. Everyone always parrots that a midsize today is the same size as a full size from 20 years ago. This is flat-out false when accounting for like-configuration.
Truck 1997 F-150 4x4 2004 F-150 4x4 2024 F-150 4x4 2024 F-150 4x4
Cab Config Extended/6.5' Extended/6.5' Extended/6.5' Crew/5.5'
Length 226.3" 227.8" 231.7" 231.7"
Curb Weight 4478lbs 5265lbs 4895lbs 4941lbs
Width 79.5" 78.9" 79.9" 79.9"
Height 75" 75.6" 77.2" 77.2"
GVWR 6200lbs 6950lbs 6550lbs 6550lbs
For starters, truck lengths in the 80's and 90's (even early 2000's) didn't include the rear bumper in the length calculation. Once this length is added in (I added 4" if they weren't included, which was for the 97 and 04 F-150s and the 08 Ranger), they're nearly the same when accounting for like-configuration (cab size and bed length). The additional length is due to cabs being extended slightly in the mid 00's to add additional legroom for passengers. This is why the rear seats of a modern crew cab truck are arguably the most comfortable rear passenger seats of any vehicle available outside of something like a Maybach or Rolls Royce. Note that I also included a popular modern crew cab in this comparison, noting that it isn't appreciably different than the most common spec of yesteryear, the extended cab/short bed configuration.
Additionally, widths have been the same 79.X" forever. This is due to anything over 80" requiring clearance lights and being subject to additional regulations, which manufacturers want to avoid.
As for height, and this one is a surprise to me: I was ready to concede, but the height of newer half tons has grown less than 2" for a truck in like-configuration (usually meaning 4x4 in this case) over the last 27 years. Hood heights have grown tremendously as cooling requirements have grown for the increase in towing and payload ratings, but overall is relatively unchanged. EDIT: Since soooo many people got pissed about this, let me touch on hood heights a bit more. I tried looking for concrete information on hood height comparisons across various generations, but there is nothing out there except anecdotal evidence or ancient forum posts of people holding tape measures up to every type of vehicle imaginable (there was one comparing to a late model Camaro in that thread). After going through 4 pages, the only notable one I was able to find was an OBS 2WD Chevy 2500 having a hood height of 48". Additionally, I found this image of a 7th gen F-150 from the 80's. The stock tires would be 235/75R15s with a diameter of 29", for reference. Edit 2: Thanks to RelativeMotion1 for this comment that gives us a data point of 50" for the hood height of a 2022 F-150 .
Going even further, with another shocker, when accounting for like-configuration, the length of the Ranger hasn't grown appreciably in length either. A 2008 model and a 2023 model in extended cab/6' bed configuration are nearly the same at 209" long. The newer one is indeed wider and taller, however. Unless you go to a regular cab/6' bed Ranger, an old model Ranger is going to be identical in every way to a Maverick except being slightly longer (209" vs 199").
Truck 2008 Ranger 4x4 2023 Ranger 4x4 2008 Ranger 4x4 2024 Maverick AWD
Cab Config Extended/6' Extended/6' Regula6' Crew/4.5'
Length 209.6" 210.8" 192.9" 199.7"
Curb Weight 3668lbs 4354lbs 3444lbs 3693lbs
Width 71.3" 75.5" 71.3" 72.6"
Height 67.7" 71.1" 67.7" 68.7"
GVWR 5140lbs 6050lbs 4780lbs 5180lbs
Another common thing that comes up is towing capacities. Vehicles in Europe have much higher tow ratings than equivalent models sold in the US. This is for tongue weight: trailers in the us are set up for 10-15% of the weight of the trailer being tongue weight, vs 5-7% in Europe. This is for stability, particularly at high speeds. In most of the US (yes Californians, I know trailers in your state are limited to 55mph, but you're the exception, not the norm), there is no separate speed limit for vehicles towing trailers. If you want to tow your trailer at 80mph across west Texas, you are more than welcome to, assuming the trailer tires are rated for it. That extra tongue weight ensures that the trailer remains stable and doesn't develop sway.
This added tongue weight leads to another common misconception: curb weight vs gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR).
Curb weight is what most people think of when they think of weight: how much does the vehicle weigh when sitting static and not running or loaded. GVWR is the maximum weight the vehicle can be loaded to legally while hauling a load (total weight on both of the vehicle axles combined). Maximum payload capacity is the difference between these two values.
One particular thing to note is that tongue weight of a trailer counts as payload on the vehicle and eats into your available payload. For example (completely made up numbers, not any particular vehicle), many people will see that their vehicle is rated to tow 5000lbs and has a payload capacity of 1000lbs or so. What they don't realize is that when you hook up that 5000lb trailer, you immediately lose 500lbs of your available payload capacity to the tongue weight of the trailer. If that 5000lb trailer is a camper, you can now only haul yourself, and maybe 1 other person and a small amount of gear, at best. You have a total of 500lbs of gear you can load in the vehicle rather than a full 1000lbs. No simply "hooking up a 5000lb trailer, loading up 4 people, 4 bags of gear, a couple coolers, and a dog" and going camping for a weekend. You'll be well over your vehicle's GVWR.
If you exceed this rating and were to get into an accident, it wouldn't be uncommon for your insurance to proceed to drop you post-incident at best, or outright refuse to cover you due to operator negligence, at worst.
Additionally, the climate and topography of the continental US, particularly the central and western areas, is much harsher than mainland Europe. This is exemplified in the standard that all US vehicles are tested to to determine max tow rating: SAE J2807.
This standard specifies a number of grueling tests to ensure a vehicle is more than capable of hauling its rated load:
If your vehicle passes all of those tests at a given trailer weight, it is now certified to tow that weight. Every possible engine and axle configuration is tested independently.
Now please, for the love of god, can we stop with asinine comments we've seen such as "a Ford Maverick is the same size as a full size truck from 20 years ago", because newsflash, it's not:
Truck 1997 F-150 4x4 2024 Maverick AWD
Cab Config Regula6.5' Crew/4.5'
Length 206.2" 199.7"
Curb Weight 3850lbs 3693lbs
Width 79.5" 72.6"
Height 75" 68.7"

I’m going on a road trip soon from Texas to Florida but I want to know would a 2018 chevy Camaro with 72k miles make it? It’s a salvaged vehicle but it was fixed and had it since 62k miles and hadn’t had any engine or transmission problems but still have some worry that something might happen. Do you guys think it’ll make it?

2024.05.20 14:58 Hopeful-Strength-834 Can you still feel my love 5 years without you?

Can you still feel my love 5 years without you?
When I was 20 years you walked into my life. You worked hard and played hard at 26. You loved to race the street stock division at many different tracks. I can still hear that race car coming down them country roads. You loved to ride atv, snowmobile, and motorcycle. How you loved it all so much. Our first date was at Pizza Hut. That became one of our favorite places throughout the years. You were the first man I truly loved. We shared so many amazing memories from dating to getting married to having our son. I remember how you use to talk to my belly when I was pregnant. You always called him critters until we found out what we were having and then you still called him critters 😊. I remember your face when he moved his foot across my stomach and you felt it and saw it for the first time how amazed you were. After 26 hours of intense labor with no medication and an emergency c section where I was completely put under our son arrived. I was a little jealous you got to see him before me. The smile on your face said it all. I could see how much you loved him already. I still remember the photo you had me take of you and our son standing by my room number. 327 if you know you know. He was a hardcore chevy man. I remember coming home from the hospital and you had hired someone to clean the apartment because you knew I needed it rest. How sweet you were. We were so happy. When our son was 5 weeks old we found out he needed to have surgery. He had pyloric stenosis. It was extremely hard for me. He was transferred to a bigger hospital. I was there alone during the days and you would drive there at night after work. One night my mother in law came up and said you guys go get something to eat. That was the first time I left our son. I was in the car eating a late supper from a drive thru with my husband. I was completely exhausted stressed out ready to cry and then the song hero came on by Enrique Iglesias. My husband started to sing that song to me. He had an amazing voice. He said he would take away my pain and be my hero. At that moment I knew no matter what we went through I would love that man forever and I did. We spent 18 years together of course we had some trying times like most relationships do but our love we had for each other was so strong it couldn’t be broken. Fast forward my husband started to get bad bloody noses. I started to get worried about him. They were getting harder to stop. Then his chest on the right side. As we were sitting on our bed I told him husband you need to go in. I always called him husband. I will never forget his words. I don’t want to go in and find out I’m dying. He hated going to the doctor because his real dad passed away in his 30s. I convinced him to go into the er by reassuring him that if you go in and find out something is wrong they can usually treat it if caught early. We were thinking maybe blood pressure issues or possibly something with his heart a clot something like that. So he took himself into the er. He didn’t have me go either because I had to take some family members to appts that day. As I was driving I got a call and it was a number I didn’t know which I usually don’t answer but I did. It was a nurse from the hospital. She asked me if I was driving I said yes she told me to pull over and I knew whatever it was it was going to be bad. I could feel myself panic. My mom my son and my brother were all with me at the time. I’m so thankful they were. She told me he had a lot of tests done and that he had cancer. I said how bad is it and she said I can’t really say much over the phone but is aggressive. I canceled everything and we went up there. How could this be. I wander to this day if sub consciously he knew when he made that comment before going in. After I got to the hospital I called all his family members. Different doctors had come in and they ended up admitting him to the hospital. The next day they did procedures to see what kind of cancer he specifically had. He got released after 2 days and we got referred to oncology. We got the phone call the doctor himself called us with the results again I was driving and he asked me to pull over. Stage 4 small cell lung carcinoma I heard it but yet I didn’t. He said aggressive and no cure. We were completely devastated. We had our first appt with oncology where again we were told there was no cure and that he would have weeks to 2 months without treatment and 9-12 months with aggressive treatment. My husband decided to do treatment and pray for a miracle. The treatment was hard 9 hour days they were so long but we did it together as a family. We took our son out of school and he online schooling so he could be part of the process. After my husband diagnosis I took time off of work to be his main caregiver and he tried to work but he couldn’t. My husband had so many friends and they had a benefit for him and let me tell you it was huge. They raised the amount of money he made in a year in one day I couldn’t believe it. My husband was a man who helped many without asking for anything in return and when needed help the most they came through for our family. After my husband started treatment he developed pneumonia then diabetes and finally kidney stones. It was a very trying time for our family. As his main caregiver I felt overwhelmed a lot of times. My husband ended up getting the stomach virus so badly he was hospitalized. Yes he couldn’t take staying home 24/7 he was very social. What do you do. I had to let him go. He ended up being transferred to as bigger hospital and at the time I was back to work and couldn’t do the 2 hour drive there and 2 hour drive back. I got to the local hospital 30 minutes away to him with our son before they transferred him. See I worked in the town I lived as a caregiver for my job so if my husband needed me I could get to him and our son was there. I would call my husband several times a day and the doctors would talk to me on the phone. I was planning to go there on the weekend but the last conversation I had with my husband and doctor they said there was nothing they could do anymore. So my husband decided to come home. He asked me to make his favorite meal. Homemade sloppy joes not from a can fried potatoes baked beans and homemade from scratch hot milk cake with whipped topping and blueberries. My brother and his brother went to go pick him up and I had his meal waiting for him. He ate it when he got home. After that his appetite really went down hill. I told my work place I needed time off from work to care for my husband which they gave me. We called hospice they came and showed me everything I needed to do. We made a post for family and friends to come see him. So I opened our home up and people came at all different times even after 10pm. Eventually my husband stopped eating stopped going to the bathroom completely no he didn’t have accidents he wasn’t producing anything. Then he couldn’t get out of bed and began sleeping. He developed a rash all over his body from his organ’s shutting down. He also developed a fever. Myself and our son would take cool cloths to his body to help comfort him. I had an Apple Watch and I put in on my husband’s wrist and took ekg on it so I would have his heartbeat forever. I was so exhausted from staying up and caring for him. I didn’t want him to pass in the night. I could barely function anymore. His breathing changed his blood pressure dropped. I gave him his last doses of medication like morphine etc and at 7:58pm he opened his eyes for the very last time as he was passing a single tear fell from his left eye. He went surrounded by his family. Our son cried and held his dad for an hour. I had called hospice so they came but they let our son grief. Which I am forever grateful for. My husband lived 10 months from his diagnosis. He was only 44 when he passed our son was 16 and I was 38. We shared 18 years together and I know that is more than some people get with their loved ones but it wasn’t long enough for us. My heart breaks for all of you who have listed your loved ones especially without any notice. I couldn’t imagine loosing my husband unexpectedly. I had so many emotions I went through. I was angry mad hurt sad and numb. I was exhausted. I had support but a lot of times I didn’t want it because I couldn’t feel at the time. I was completely broken. I loved that man with all of my heart. It has been 5 years now and I have not moved on at 43. I have not had any desire to find another partner. I still love my husband very much. In fact I hope he can feel my love I have for him at this very moment. I have recently decided that if fate decides to bring someone into my life I will be open to sharing my heart with someone again. I know this is a long post and if you’ve read it thank you for allowing me to share my life my grief and the love I still have for my husband. I want you to all know as a fellow widow I see you and I feel your pain and I am sincerely sorry for your loss.
Side note: my husband drew this heart for me many years ago and after he passed I took the ekg I had taken and blended it with this photo. This is his heartbeat a couple days before he passed.

2024.05.20 14:29 Dymaseus Gr86 or camaro SS?

I’m in an adult dilemma. I’m gonna buy a new car either way. Do I go with cheap payments(gr86) that I can hand tune later? Or do I go with the SS(last year of Camaro production). Every fiber is torn. As an adult I say gr86. It’s economical till it’s paid off. But my inner child and Chevy fan says SS because it’s the last year of current production and I can afford the 10k difference…
Help me!

My first weddingish cake
I enjoy baking as a hobby and creating cakes (also flavor wise). This was the first time I’d do something for grown ups.
I’m nowhere near pro and don’t want to be, those are just meant to be gift for my friends.
I have no credit on the outside beside icing it since I bought artificial flowers and the topper, obviously.
But still they were happy !
