I was on Cymbalta as the first line of treatment for my nerve pain and depression, and that shit back fired so hard.
Before starting this medication I had absolutely no cardiovascular issues. I had very average blood pressure. I was active and on my feet a lot despite my chronic pain, but never once had I shown any signs beforehand of something being possibly wrong with my heart.
I was on 30mg for 3 weeks, and I didn’t feel awful, but something just wasn’t correct feeling. I was getting dizzy and my heart rate was more insane than I remembered it being. Once I was upped to 60mg thats where shit went really wrong.
I would full on pass out from just standing, I was sweating buckets, my heart felt like it was constantly trying to implode on itself and no matter what I was doing, I felt like absolute shit. I was convinced lowkey I was dying because my blood pressure and heart rate would do weird shit. My heart rate was rocketing up to the 130+ and my blood pressure was plummeting. I lowered my dose back to 30 hoping maybe it’d go away. It never did. I was off that med by week 6 and I have never felt normal since then.
It’s been two years since then, I was freshly 17 when I started Cymbalta and I am now 19. I am still feeling its lasting effects. Doing anything nowadays feels like i’m gonna drop dead at any moment, and it’s just kinda getting worse. I was told that I would return back to normal after a few weeks of stopping the med, and i’m so devastated that I never returned back to normal.
It’s gotten so bad nowadays that even walking my bus stop 4 minutes away makes my chest feel a bit tight and gets me lightheaded. Walking up my apartment stairs makes me feel like i’m gonna actually die, I end up leaning over my kitchen sink trying to just breathe and get the severe chest and upper back to calm down. I have nearly passed out several times in my kitchen because I climbed 16 steps.
I’m finally just seeing an actual cardiologist after finally snapping from this hell. I had previously expressed to my PCP that I had some sort of issue with my heart after this medication, but it wasn’t a major concern as I am juggling so many different things. Then I was borderline coding in a walmart just trying to get groceries and accepted that I couldn’t just ignore this issue anymore as I really didn’t want to actually drop dead before figuring out what went wrong.
I’m unsure if without this medication i’d have these issues, maybe I had them minor before and the medication turned them up to extreme. Who knows! Hopefully my cardiologist (who is luckily the best one outside of my state biggest city).
So, anyone else stuck in heart issue hell because of this med? Or am I just honest to god a medical ticking time bomb?

2024.05.22 02:19 PuzzleheadedAir6272 Controversial best practices

In the past 6 months I challenged my own code style extensively and came up with new personal guidelines on how to write good PLC code.
Most of these are pretty straightforward programming principles that any experienced PLC engineer would support, like modularity, KISS principle or five rung principle
I also came up with some that are way more controversial, but I just think those are best practices.
I am programming exclusively in TIA portal, I have used Rockwell also once and know it has different capabilities.
1st: avoid structured text at all times, only use it for mathemathical calculations. If you have multiple tags in one command, put all of them into new lines for being able to properly debug.
2nd: Make all sequences in GRAPH. That way you have the sequence diagram always up to date
3rd: do not use InOut tags. I know that has been best practice for speed, but debugging large code without being able to properly cross reference is horrible.
4th: no abbreviations, except the absolutely most common like ERR, ES, i,o
What do you guys think about these? I know they are not considered best practice at the moment, but I also feel that the best PLC engineers are often really bad at writing clean code and its super frustrating at our company.

2024.05.22 02:17 Same-Atmosphere-9250 I’m fucking done

This year my school got a new principal and she has made it her mission to make me miserable. I am a 12 year teacher and I teach special education and I love what I do. But goddamn if this woman doesn’t hate my guts for no reason! Constantly picking and bullying and when she can’t come up with a reason to talk down to me, it seems to fuel her fire. Tomorrow I have to take off for court in the am (I’m a witness not defendant lol) and I’m going to the dermatologist later. I put in for ONE SICK DAY and she immediately emailed me asking me to bring a doctor’s note for Thursday. I live in Virginia and the state code says that after three consecutive days an employer can ask for documentation. But ONE FUCKING DAY?! I looked at my absence balances and this year I have taken 7.8 sick days, including tomorrow’s time. Did I mention that SHE has now been out 17 days since winter break?…INCLUDING TODAY.
Also I got so fed up with her treatment that I recently got a job in a different district. Because of this, I have been slowly packing and removing my items from my classroom to make my life easier. She had the NERVE today to have someone come in my room to do an inventory of the items the school purchased over the last 10 or so years to make sure nothing “walked out of the building….” Ma’am. MA’AM. Jokes on her, it was all there. But this has been the theme of my treatment all year. I have never had a single complaint from an administrator, parent, or coworker. This woman has an issue with me on some deep personal level and it’s as if every time something positive is said about me or happens to me, she tries to knock me down a few pegs. I’m just losing my mind at this point and I cannot wait to never see her again.

No no you don't know what you're doing I do I do and you are stupid for wanting control over the operating system you purchased (lol) and no no you don't know what you're talking about just let Windows do its thiiiing!!! Yep, I'll let it do its thing. I'm sure that React Native within my Start Menu™ is absolutely a neccessary technology to have in an operating system. If you don't know what that is, it's one of the reasons your top range $5000 PC struggles to run a simple blog at 20 FPS. And LinkedIn and Instagram. Yep those too are essential for an operating system. And these stupid little muppets will hit you with a "Pfft, you need a more powerful machine!!" My machine is powerful. Certainly moreso than what your average deck jockey drone or code monkey will be running. I would just like my resources to be used a little more productively. I don't need cunting web content running natively within my OS. You fucking raisin brain.
And there's another excuse-- sorry, answer for this absolutely deviling of my and your important resources: "Unused RAM is wasted RAM!" these fucking (I'm trying to think of an insult to their intellect that won't get me banned) hammerheads like to misinterpret and parrot with a goofy smile and their hands on their hips. Yes, I agree. My RAM at all times should be chocked up to the brim with nonsenseware. CPU cycles, fetching and executing of instructions EXISTS as a physical fucking thing, that takes time. And physical resources. But you don't know that because you took a bootcamp to get yourself up to code monkey standards (no offense to those that did, just the ones that chat shit online.) Thank you for your service in making the world a slower place.

2024.05.22 02:12 Puzzleheaded_Fix7560 How to (safely) find out what I currently owe on an old medical debt?

I'm in a state of rebuilding financially after some serious health issues over these past few years. I had surgery a few years ago (out-of-state and out-of-network) and my post-op surgical bill was massive-- like, $300k massive, despite everything having been approved and green-stamped by my health insurance company beforehand. I got boned by my health insurance in like 8 different ways, but most notably by the Maximum Allowable Fee-- so instead of owing $10,000 (my OON out-of-pocket max) I was billed $300,000 while my insurance only paid a few thousand toward the debt. I was billed $300,000 by my doctors while my insurance's out-of-network out-of-pocket max was not even considered "met" yet. :/ And I did everything I knew to do at the time to make sure everything was cleared with my insurance beforehand (hours on the phone making sure the hospital was in-network, making sure all the surgical codes were approved, getting estimates, etc etc), so now I feel a little ill-equipped in my ability to protect myself against future debt.
Anyway.
After the surgery, I was profoundly disabled for a couple years, stopped paying on any medical bills, totally destroyed my finances, and lost track of the status of the various insurance appeals I had submitted at that time. So I have no idea what I currently owe my former medical providers (vs the $300K I was billed 4 years ago), and I would like to know the best way to find out what I actually owe them without potentially resetting any debt clocks or putting new activity on an account that might otherwise be written off by my doctor-- the debt is nearly 5 years old now, so it's possible it might be getting close to that point.
Has anyone ever dealt with anything like this before, or have any resources they can point me to on how to protect myself? Without knowing how much I actually owe my surgeon and his team, the decision of medical bankruptcy vs negotiating the debt down (settling for less) is kind of an impossible one.

2024.05.22 02:12 Wise_Tumbleweed_1222 Feeling Hopeless 1yr Post-Grad. Should I pivot away from what I studied?

Long read I'm sorry.
I graduated a year ago (class of '23) and have yet to land a job. I got a B.S. in information sciences with a concentration in UX design and a minor in graphic design. I wanted to get a UX/UI/Product design job either local or remote. However, this is proving to be extremely difficult. I probably applied consistently for about 6 months, maybe around 400 applications. Then life stuff happened and I got really depressed between that and the constant rejection. I have only been applying sporadically since.
I currently work a retail job that I actually like quite a bit, but I know it isn't sustainable long-term. I've been doing some serious thinking and I feel like my only option is to pivot at this point. I genuinely don't think I will get a job in UX because of my lack of experience. I wasn't able to do an internship while in school which is really hurting me now (and yes I've looked into them post-grad and 99% of them REQUIRE you to be a student). On top of that the UX market is so saturated with freshers now. I still like UX and want to do it, but quite frankly I'm tired of the fight. I want to give up and move on. Maybe I can come back to UX in the future, but I just don't think it's a viable option for me right now.
One option I've been thinking about is being a data analyst. At least that's related to my degree. I would have to take some online classes as I don't know much about the data side since my concentration was UX. I've found some free or cheap stuff like the "Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate" on Coursera or the "The Data Analyst Course: Complete Data Analyst Bootcamp" from Udemy. Then there are more expensive options provided by various universities (all around 12k). I would prefer the cheaper option obviously but I was wondering if they will give me the same credibility that the more expensive ones would?
Another option is flat-out graphic design. However, I feel like I would have the same struggles as I do currently with my lack of experience. Also thought about web design but then I have to learn code.
Final option is social media marketing. And I'm talking like manage accounts/content creation for a company. It's pretty much the only other thing that doesn't seem crazy insufferable to me. Now this is in a totally different ballpark then my degree so I feel like I'd almost have to go back to school and at least get an associates degree. I do have a teeny tiny bit of work experience with this in my current role, but nothing serious, just taking some pics and making some flyers.
So I guess I'm just wanting some advice on if I should just keep trying for UX or pivot. What people's experiences are relating to my proposed pivots if they were in a similar situation to me. Advice on the free/cheap vs expensive courses. Really any advice is welcome. Thank you.

I couldn't help it but express my dreading feelings here, so pls let me piggyback this post to also share my theory thoughts. But really, Im feeling it really bad rn, the chills, the dread. It has never stopped and it gets worse over time, starting from the beginning, ngl it feels super unlucky to be a Kaeyamain. Anyone here feels similarly if not the same? (And fyi, it's not affecting me in real life scale, I know how to separate irl and fiction so please, just dont; you could say it's another form of entertainment?).

I think you're already getting a clear picture but let me add more "pieces".
The Abyss Order stole a statue of Barbatos and hung it upside down. Doesn't it signifies their hate against this god? Out of all the other statues of 7?
Kaeya was specifically sent to Dawn Winery, with his dad looking back to him with hatred and hope.
These are what I currently have to support this theory (+other Mondstadt ominous signs. Im curious if the Dadaupa battle is related to this). But Im sure I could dig more and Im currently doing that. It's just that this I seriously, seriously, want to share this realization to y'all even if I havent have yet all the pieces:
Haven't you realized it yet? What if Khaenriah were former Mondstadtians! Maybe during in the early ages where Mondstadt is in its lowest point, possibly the slavery period, where their god has immensely disappointed them. Believing that Barbatos has abandoned them. So they branched out, traveled far and formed a new kingdom? In the first Chasm Interlude, a Dain Quest, Dain stated that the ruins there were much more older than their ex-kingdom.hah So how about this, what if these ex-Mondstatians discovered and successfully studied the civilization's technology of this ruins and migrated underground with it?
Or how about these former Mondstatians migrating with the already formed kingdom underground, fully taking it over?
You know, I wonder how did the Crimson Moon Dynasty end?
(Ofc, ex-Mondstatians overtaking the Crimson Moon Dynasty is still just a possibility; it could had started way before!)
Imagine that, Kaeya is a fully Mondstadtian nobility! (Well, half). It's such a game-changing fascinating thought isnt it?
Let me share this tidbit I think is relevant:

Now I think they want get back to their roots and rule it again, and using it for revenge against Celestia.
You know, I dont know why I never thought and realized of this before, Khaenrians being ex-former-Mondstadtians, despite the obvious "pieces" being right there-. I only remember being confused by Kaeya's line “My family has lived in Mondstadt for generations”. But I guess playing through the new update made me "see" it.
Whoever said or thought that Kaeya was involved in a ceremony, and/or that's how he got his "truth-seekinghidden eye ability", I think we nailed it. A possibility of course. A doubt. Just do remind if we take this SQ as an allegory(feels like most SQs I played are), there highly could be littered with red-herrings or that it's not a total representation (I mean, obviously. Im still leaning onto the "opposites in each cycles" theory but Im still trying to prove that).

If we assume that the cycle "Hyperborea" occured in Snezhnaya (the word relates to extreme north, look it up) and "Natlantian" for Natlan, try to think of civilizations that were both destroyed and its people cursed, representing each of our present nations. Outside of the unified civilizations ofc (with Trifecta symbols), post-Primordial One/Celestia rule. ALSO NOTE THAT WE ARE STILL HALF-WAY OF THE KHAUN-ARYA CYCLE (sorry for the caps, I just lately discovered this one). What happened in Khaenriah was only the beginning
Do you know, during the Remuria ruling era, there were two "nations" that were involved to something, and no, Im not talking abt Fontaine for the other one. Cassiodor's former tribe (it's a group of people, it counts right?), was destroyed and its people ‘enslaved’ by Remuria (hmm, doesnt it overlap with ex-mond theory too?). Him defecting to Remuria and being, *ahem*, close friends with Boethius being the reason of escaping that fate. In the end, Remuria still had gotten itself destroyed. Tbh I still need to look deeply more onto this but this is what I currently have.
Okay now, to this final part is an afterthought of the post and I don't have the explanation for it(meaning proof). It was an instantaneous thought. And I quickly forgot what urged me that thought, the reasons why. Sorry, but I have(and want) to write this here for the record: I couldn't help but feel that, in the same way we experience and progress through the storyline in the game, this samsara cycles shenanigans, civilizations being destroyed, first started in Mondstadt. And we are now back in a full circle.

2024.05.22 02:09 Mobydeux I wish they removed factions as part of Cata Classic

I play on a pvp server, and I love pvp but I struggle to see the points of factions anymore.
There is nothing fun or fair about questing in the zone of Cata when your faction is in minority 8 to 1. Not only that but because the server population is so skewed towards one faction, the queue times to find a random dungeon group is silly.
Factions serve absolutely no purpose anymore aside from splitting servers player base into two and creating headache for blizzard to try to balance them out. If there is 1 faction only, there is nothing to balance out. And with 1 faction only, pvp servers could just have world pvp in between everyone flagged for pvp in the open world just...fight.
You could even keep the horde/alliance thing going but make us all speak the same language and group together. It becomes a skin, nothing more.
Am I missing something? Do factions do anything anymore that warrant them? We all kill the same boss in the same dungeons anyway at the end of the day.
Alternatively, as a quick fix, If Classic is running on Retail code, why not mix and match factions like it is on Retail in the group finder? It wouldn't change anything to the open world.

2024.05.22 02:07 tremby A tip for Tangerine users: auto-transferring a fractional percentage of income

TLDR: it's possible to set a fractional percentage to transfer. Instructions below.
Tangerine has a feature called "pay yourself first" (on the "money rules" page) which lets you set up an automatic transfer between your accounts triggered by income matching a certain filter. It lets you set a particular percentage of the income to transfer to another account.
I wanted to use this to set aside portions of my income corresponding to my expected effective tax rate for the year, and also for the GST I need to collect. My GST remittance rate is 3.6% of gross income, so I wanted one of these "pay yourself first" rules to be 3.6%.
However, Tangerine's interface will only let you specify a whole number for the percentage.
This bothered me, since that discrepancy could add up to a fair amount over the year. I emailed Tangerine and they responded with "unfortunately we would not be able to make this change to our Money Rules feature at this time".
But I wasn't so sure -- it jumped out at me that the rules I'd set up showed the configured percentage to 2 decimal places. Why would they show that if it was always an integer?
So I went back to the form to edit the rule, opened up the browser dev tools, made the edit, and looked at the data sent back and forth. I duplicated and tweaked the request which had gone out to send a fractional number rather than a whole number, sent it, and saw that it was accepted.
The UI now showed that fractional amount, and I waited for my next pay to come in to see if it had really worked, and sure enough, it did.
It's frustrating that their system supports it, and so does their display UI, but their data entry UI does not, and it's more frustrating that they don't seem to care.
But in case it would help anybody else, here's how to work around their bad UI.
These instructions are for the Firefox browser. It would presumably be similar in Chrome and Safari.
  1. Add a "pay yourself first" rule. Set any whole number percentage.
  2. Get yourself to its "edit" page, by clicking its "change money rule" link, then the vertical 3-dots, then "edit rule".
  3. Open up the developer tools. Find them at menu -> more tools -> web developer tools, or it's control-shift-i.
  4. Click to the "network" tab of the developer tools panel.
  5. In the main browser window, where you haven't actually changed anything, click the "update rule" button.
  6. You'll see a few rows appear in the network panel. Find the one which has POST in the "method" column and edit-recipes in the "file" column. Right-click it, and choose "edit and resend".
  7. A new panel will open up. At the bottom is a section called "body". In this section, scroll until you find "pay_yourself_first_percentage":3 where 3 is the temporary percentage you'd added. It was very close to the very end for me, so you might want to scroll to the very end, then slowly back until you find it.
  8. Change that number to whatever percentage you'd like, so 3.6 in my case.
  9. Click "send". You can then hide that panel with an icon at its top right.
  10. You'll find another POST edit-recipes row has appeared in the network requests list. If it has a 200 status it should have worked fine. To double check, you could click that row, then change to the "response" tab in the other panel ("headers", "cookies", "request", etc), and expect to see status_code: "SUCCESS". You can close the developer tools with the × at top right.
  11. Go back to your "money rules" page, do a full page refresh, and expect to see your chosen fractional percentage.
YMMV; worked for me.

This is where I was down leveled. The interviewer was bit rude at times saying you work at a small company and Microsoft might be too big for you. Small fish big pond kind of things.
Outcome: After the interviews, I received feedback that while I performed well, the interviewers felt I was more suited for a Software Developer 2 (SDE 2) level rather than the Senior Software Engineer role I applied for. I did exceptional in all technical aspects. Just the fact that my current company is not at same scale as Microsoft did me in. Unfortunately, there were no open positions for SDE 2 at the time, so I didn’t receive an offer.
Advice Needed:
1. Improving My Profile: How can I better position myself for Senior Software Engineer roles in future interviews? 2. Interview Preparation: Any tips on how to improve my performance in system design and coding interviews? 3. Next Steps: Should I reapply to Microsoft in the future, or focus on other companies for now? Any strategies for handling similar feedback in future interviews?

Hello! A lot of time is used daily for received test requisitions for continuing care, molecular studies, consult, and additional testing. I am looking for ideas to reduce the amount of time spend on this every day. As of now we receive our requests via fax and the process begins. Receive fax, confirm 14 days has passed for molecular testing, record ordering physician, reference lab, print patient's insurance information, pull slides with associated case to give to doctor, and a few more steps. Any ideas to make this leaner? I would like to approach leadership with the possibility of using some coding to automate some of these steps, perhaps have the requests emailed and python read the emails and complete many of these steps. Does any of this seem possible? I feel like I am in the stone age.

Antivirus products are known to detect the launcher as a threat and block its execution or delete the launcher. The reason for this is uncertain, but most likely due to a launcher component, PyInstaller, that is commonly flagged as a threat by antivirus software. A sufficient workaround is to add the launcher binary to your antivirus' whitelist, or to select the action to trust this binary when detected. More information can be found from the launcher's FAQ on Github.
If you are paranoid, you can always inspect the source code yourself and build the launcher from the source code. However, you are still likely to get false positives.
If you think the UI isn't set up correctly, make sure to press } to access the UI Settings panel. You will be given a choice of several different styles, with "Labels" being the recommended setting for new players and "Classic" for veteran players.
