I spilled water on my computer

2024.05.21 15:15 DISHSOAP4270 I spilled water on my computer

Hello, I’m not sure if this is the correct subreddit so I apologize if it isn’t but I have a few questions that I hope this subreddit would be able to answer.
When I was coming back from refilling my water bottle to my desk, I spilled water on my computer. It was uncapped and the water was freshly boiled tap water as I was planning to drink it as soon as I sat down but instead, my computer was the one who drank it.
I immediately got a towel and wiped the computer, by then, the computer screen was purple and so, I forcefully shut it down by pressing down on the power button until it turned off. After I wiped it dry of any water on the exterior of my laptop, I turned it on again but it wouldn’t turn on, in hindsight, this was a mistake as it could lead to a short circuit.
After watching a video, I took off the back panel of my computer and wiped off any water I could see, I then unplugged the power supply and tried to unscrew my secondary SSD but couldn’t as the screws were stripped.
Right now, my computer is sitting on a towel rack with a fan blowing air directly underneath it, I’m planning to go to a HP service center tomorrow morning but was wondering if I can do anything else to increase the chances of my computer being operable again.
If possible, not anything to technical as I’m just a normal person with not a lot of experience with hardware, the only experience I have is adding a new SSD and upgrading my ram.
Thank you.

2024.05.21 15:11 greythunder72 Sell my MBP for MCA?

So long story short - I got my MBP 2023 M2 PRO 16’ with 16 ram and 512 SSD
The specs are an overkill for me and I mainly just got it for the screen size + it was on sale for cheap.
My uses are minimal it’s just web browsing and pdf content / studying and mainly using apps like good notes or notability. I even mostly have it in clamshell mode on my desk
Should I sell it and get a MacBook Air M3 15’? That way I’ll have some extra money and perhaps get a Mac mini to use with my monitor instead of the clamshell thing too?
What do you guys think? Because right now it’s only purpose is being hooked up to my monitor in clamshell and for the uses I said. Should I basically exchange it for a Mac mini and a MacBook Air?

2024.05.21 14:45 EldonAXe Extremely Itchy skin after showers!

I'm at a loss here. I'm trying to figure out what to do about my itchy skin following showers. First off, I have sensitive skin. I used to breakout very easily and had a skin allergy, over the years that allergy has lessened and in some cases doesn't bother me at all. I continue to use gentler products on my skin, I lotion everyday especially after showers or baths. But lately, nothing works when it comes to the itchiness my skin experiences after a shower or bath. The itching could last for an hour to all day.
I recently moved to the Tacoma area in Washington and I'm 32 weeks pregnant with my first child. Ever since moving here I have experience extreme itching all over my legs and some parts of my upper body. First, I tried Cera Ve Extreme Itch Relief and even put it in the fridge for a cooking affect on my skin. That didn't help. I'd even put ice packs on my skin to stop myself from itching. It was only a temporary relief solution. I looked up at home solutions and if my pregnancy could be a factor. Online suggested it could be the humidity in the air (or lack thereof) so I got a humidifer that I run every night. It also said pregnancy could trigger eczema. At my OB, appointment, I spoke to my physician who thought it could be an allergy and gave me medicine. She also suggested using Aveeno's Oatmeal bath packets followed by their lotion. Despite having taken those pills for several weeks and using the Aveeno products, I'm still severely itchy. I looked again online and saw that the hard water from my home could be a factor. The landlord will not allow me to add a water softener system to the home so I purchased a shower head filter which I installed. However, after showering again, I was still itchy all over and it feels like bugs biting me. It's not a type of itch that I can simply ignore. It's almost painful and I'm forced to scratch.
Does anyone have any help? Any other ideas?
Products I use: ALL Free and Clear washing detergent, Dove Shea butter soap bar, Aveeno Oatmeal Lotion, Passion and Beyond Deep Clean Cooling Shampoo and Conditioner, and Palmers Cocoa Butter lotion and oil for my growing belly.
TIA!

2024.05.21 14:42 very_kul people tried to copy off me and the inviligators did nothing.

The center in Hyderabad was quite well known, offering exams for both JEE and UGEE. While I was focused on my exam, the person next to me tried to copy from my screen. The person beside him also made gestures asking for help. The invigilator stood by and did nothing to address the situation. I even made annoyed noises to signal my discomfort, but the attempts to cheat continued.
It's astonishing how many cheaters there are this year. Nearly everyone seems ready to cheat to get good marks. Even though I may not be AIR 1, it saddens me to see so many people resorting to dishonesty.

2024.05.21 14:40 Maxiee298 Not Recommend Buying an air conditioner with USIN

I wouldn't recommend buying an air conditioner from USIN. They promise a one-year warranty for support, but when I encountered a problem with my unit, they didn't provide the assistance they had promised. It's frustrating when a company doesn't stand by their warranty commitments. Good customer service is essential, especially when dealing with appliances that may need maintenance or repairs. In my experience, USIN did not live up to their after-sales support promises, and I felt let down as a customer. It's important to consider these factors before making a purchase decision, as you may encounter similar issues if you choose

2024.05.21 14:12 priya_dogra Commercial Heat Pump Water Heater Upgrade in Victoria

Commercial Heat Pump Water Heater Upgrade in Victoria
While the governments across the globe seem to be focused on rapid adoption of zero-emission vehicles and solar panels to cut carbon emission, a new climate-tech hero has emerged on the scene — the heat pump.
Though the first heat pump was created in the mid 19th century, the technology found its place in the spotlight only in the early 21st century.
Why are heat pumps tech heroes?
Unlike conventional technologies — which use gas or electricity for space heating/cooling and water heating — a heat pump pulls warmth from surrounding air (even if it is snowing outside), amplifies it, and pumps it inside to warm a space or water inside the water tank.
The heat pumps are powered by electricity, but their energy output — in the form of water heating or space heating/cooling — is 3-5 times greater than the energy consumed.
Since, we are currently offering upgrades under Victoria government commercial hot water rebates program, the rest sections of this blog will be focused on the commercial heat pump powered hot water systems and rebate application process.
Commercial Heat pumps offered under Victoria government programs
The Victoria government has set an ambitious target of 45-50 percent emission reduction — to 2005 emission levels — and net-zero emissions by 2050.
To achieve this target, reducing emissions in the electricity sector — which accounted for 51.8% of Victoria's total net emissions in 2021 — becomes all important.
About a quarter of the total electricity produced is consumed by commercial buildings in Australia, and appliances like water heaters, air conditioners and freezers are responsible for the highest energy use.
Energy-efficient appliances can reduce the energy consumption and decarbonise commercial buildings by a large margin.
The reduction achieved by achieving higher energy efficiency will in turn result in more energy and money savings for businesses and reduce their carbon footprints.
If you run a business in Victoria state, achieving energy efficiency in your office/workplace building has never been so doable and budget friendly.
The Victorian government —under the Victorian Energy Upgrades Program — is offering free replacement of your commercial electric boilers/water heaters with air-sourced heat pump powered commercial water heaters. The rebates are also on offer for replacement of gas-fired water heaters with heat pump units.
The 3 to 5X energy efficiency achieved by heat pumps offer a great advantage for businesses who are looking to reduce their operating cost and carbon footprints.
However, to achieve this, there are the following variables you need to factor in to achieve the maximum quantum of reduction in energy demand at your business:

  • COP (Coefficient Of Performance) of heat pump unit.
  • Quality of installation.
  • Size of heat pump system
  • Energy star rating
  • Compressor efficiency
  • Type of compressor
  • Insulation of pipes and water tank
  • Warranty
Application of heat pump technology in Industrial & Commercial sector
Heat pump technology is used in a range of industrial and commercial applications, such as:
  • Product heating and cooling in agro-based industries.
  • Space heating and cooling in agriculture and industries
  • Water heating and steam generation in industrial applications
  • Pool water heating and cooling in swimming pools
  • Air heating in agribusinesses and industries
  • Drying, cooling, boiling, distillation, and blanching in food & beverages industries.
  • Drying, melting and preheating in food processing applications
Upsides of commercial heat pump water heater
Employing Heat pumps in commercial and industrial applications offers the following advantages:
High energy-efficiency
Commercial heat pumps offer 3–5 times COP (Coefficient of Performance) than their gas or resistance counterparts. This makes them suitable for reducing energy demand and energy bills of the various commercial and industrial processes.
Low operating cost
The cost of running heat pumps is always lower than gas-fired or electric boilers. Here is a comparison of the operating cost of various commercial heating technologies
Comparing the operating cost of various commercial heating technologies.
As we can see in this chart, a commercial air-source heat pump can deliver 1 GJ (gigajoules) of heat (when electricity is charged u/120/MWh) for $12.92. The resistive water heater delivers the same heat for $33.33 and gas-fired steam boilers deliver the same amount of heat for $30.60 (when electricity is priced @ $24/GJ) and for $15.65 (when electricity is priced @ $12/GJ).
Low maintenance cost
Rightly sized and installed heat pumps need less maintenance than their electric and gas counterparts. Maintenance is only required if the manufacturer has recommended replacing air filters and cleaning evaporator and condenser coils after a certain period of time. One can find the coils and filters replacement schedule in the product document supplied with the heat pump system.
Lower emissions
Due to higher energy-efficiency, heat pumps produce lower emissions even if the electricity grid is powered by the coal-fired power plants. As the Australian electricity grid is getting decarbonised every year and its emission factor (amount of CO2 per MWh of generated power) is expected to reduce to less than 0.3–0.45 t CO2/MWh by 2030, replacing resistive and gas-fired boilers/water heaters with heat pumps will deliver a substantial reduction in businesses and industrials sites.
Pairing with solar panels
Powering heat pumps with solar panels can further reduce operating cost of heat pumps and achieve the holy grail of climate conscious businesses — net-zero emissions.
Integrating with thermal storage systems
Integrating heat pumps with thermal storage units (such as insulated water tanks) offers several advantages, such as:
  • Reduced heat loss from the stored water.
  • More efficiency
  • More savings: thermal storage systems can be programmed to store thermal energy during off-peak hours and utilize it during peak hours. It saves money and reduces dependence on the electricity grid.
Safety benefits
Heat pumps reduce fire hazards in commercial and industrial processes as they are fully electric and handling of combustible fuels/gasses (as in the case of gas-fired boilers) is not required.
Downsides of heat pump water heaters
Despite the above advantages that heat pump hot water systems offer, they are associated with the following drawbacks:
Limited efficiency in colder climate
As the heat pump systems are primed for sourcing warmth of outdoor or ambient air and transferring it to the sink (which may be a water tank or a space inside a building), the efficiency of heat pumps drops significantly when the outdoor air temperature falls below zero degree celsius.
The sub-zero temperature conditions (during the winter months of June, July, and August) in Victoria state are not a concern, as the average temperatures range from 6.5 C to 14.2 C during these months.
Limited output temperature
Most commercial heat pump water heating units can achieve maximum output temperature in the 60 to 80 degree celsius range. Some heat pumps use auxiliary resistive heating (called booster) to increase the max output temperature range, but it makes them less efficient.
Cost
Heat pump technology based commercial water heaters are more expensive — than gas and electric — upfront. Businesses in Victoria can utilize the government rebates/incentives to reduce the upfront cost.
Refrigerant consideration in commercial heat pumps
Refrigerant’s global warming potential (GWP) and toxicity level are two key considerations that one needs to consider while choosing earth-friendly and safe commercial water heating systems. GWP is the heat trapping potential (relative to carbon dioxide) of a substance.
A heat pump with carbon dioxide refrigerant has a GWP of 1. All natural refrigerants like CO2 (R744), propane (R290) and ammonia (R717) have low global warming potential.
Among these natural refrigerants, carbon dioxide has a low toxicity level and ammonia — which is a flammable and corrosive gas — has a high toxicity level.
Let us walk you through the upgrade process.
Defrosting heat pump
During normal operating conditions, air source heat pumps sources the warmth from ambient outdoor air and transfers it to a heat sink such as indoor space or water storage unit.
However, in cold winter days when outdoor air temperature dips below freezing (0 °C) and wind speed is below 16 km/h, moisture in the air condenses into ice crystals, frost starts forming on the fins of evaporator coils of the heat pump.
When the air temperature continues falling several notches below the zero degree Celsius, a thick layer of frost can form on the fins. At this stage, removing the frost is the only way to resume the heat transfer from outdoor air to a water tank or an indoor space.
Commercial heat pump water heaters automatically defrost the evaporator fins by reversing the refrigeration flow. It is achieved by a four-way reversing valve (a solenoid coil operated valve) and heat pump sensors monitoring the air temperature and accumulation of frost on fins of evaporator coils.
The reversing valve directs the passage of hot refrigerant from the compressor to the evaporator coils to melt the build-up of frost and ice.
Some commercial air source heat pump water heating systems also have an auxiliary water tank to prevent heat loss in the main water tank during the defrost cycle.
Most commercial heat pump water heaters employ a hot gas defrost method to defrost the evaporator coils.

I created a Google doc called "Gettir Done". ( Ronny is my cat 😽) I can access it from anywhere and keep it on my phone so I can update and customize as needed.
Every morning I get up and start to do my thing. Then I get coffee, sit by the river (my lil' morning meditation spot) and organize my day. I check the "tasks" off this list. If I do things out of order, or simply forget, I just go back to the list and make sure I've covered everything.
I'm always glued to my phone anyway, so this is the perfect trick to keep me motivated and my brain on point. Hoping this helps anyone who's been looking for methods to get through their day too! 💙

2024.05.21 13:52 No_Magazine257 Garda Raided Our House to Look for a Cannabis Farm (Innocent)

I'm currently living with my spouse in their parents' house. My spouse and I were both on our computers with headsets on. Apparently the Garda knocked on the front door, but neither of us heard anything. My spouse's parents were away at the time. Then the Garda bashed the front door open with a battering ram! We both heard the loud noise (I thought someone fell down the stairs).
I was about to get up, but one of the officials opened my bedroom door. He was in civilian clothes, so I didn't know if it was extended family or someone breaking in. He asked several questions like: "Why didn't you answer the door?" and "Is there anyone else in the house?". At some point during the confusion they mentioned they had a search warrant and to inspect the house.
They asked my spouse and I to go down stairs and we complied. There were a total of 4 officers. Only two of them were in uniforms. My spouse and I were both shooken up by the ordeal. One of the uniformed officers read the search warrant to us, which was when I learned they were searching for a cannabis farm. I was baffled at the prospect, but also relieved since I knew we had nothing to hide. No one in our house does drugs or has broken the law.
The officers without uniforms began searching every room. They quickly learned that there wasn't a cannabis farm in our house, but they started searching for drugs and other contraband (there wasn't any). They saw a potassium salt powder that I take for personal health; it seemed like one officer was hoping it was drugs. They asked us a few questions about our personal life. In the end they found nothing incriminating and left. Luckily our house didn't sustain damage, but we had to reorganize a few things they ruffled through.
One of the officers without a uniform looked like he was on a stimulating drug (maybe it was just adrenaline); all the other officers were a lot more chill and professional. In hind sight, we forgot to ask to get a copy of the search warrant. I defiantly want to get a copy to have on file.
I'm not sure what was the original cause of the raid, but it looks like the evidence was that: I have curtains covering my entire bedroom window and a portable air conditioner blowing hot air out that window. I have this set up to keep my room below 25C (we've had several warm days recently). This is speculation, but we suspect that we may have been swatted (one of our next door neighbors holds a grudge against us).

2024.05.21 13:35 Reasonable_Tea6015 Bleached hair

Hi! I have naturally curly/wavy, dry hair. Well I went to a stylist last year and she bleached the shit out of my hair and it is soooo dry now.
Years ago I dyed my hair brown with permanent dye and its almost like it completely relaxed it. Got rid of the frizz, air-dried almost straight, seemed so healthy.
About 2-3 months ago I spoke to my new stylist about it and she recommended I go dark but with a demi-permanent dye. It worked well as far as making my hair feel healthier (not like the permanent dye), but now I think it’s worn off because my hair is feeling so so dry and unmanageable again.
Should I stick to demi-permanent or dye it permanently brown? Or neither. Any advice would be welcomed!
I use Amika shampoo and hydrating hair masque, Oribe hair masques, redken shampoo and conditioner and bonding treatment, etc.
Thank you so much!

2024.05.21 13:30 Ishika2337 The 10 Best Movies Coming to Apple TV+ in May 2024

Apple TV+ is one of the strangest streamers out there, with almost no licensed TV or film content and a small number of originals. That makes the best movies on Apple TV+ easy to find. There simply aren’t that many! Apple is clearly taking a “quality over quantity” approach, with its money spread across genres and targeted at making its subscribers (many roped in with a deal that came with one of the company’s tech products) treat it like a real contender. It also helps that it’s only $4.99 a month, or free for a year if you’ve just purchased a new (and eligible) device.
With films from up-and-comers like Minhal Baig, arthouse favorites like Sofia Coppola and Werner Herzog, some A-list music docs, one of the best animated movies of the 2020s and Martin Scorsese’s latest, Apple TV+ is actually making the case that it belongs in the conversation alongside the more established services. As long as it keeps adding good movies to its roster, that is. It recently snagged a few critical darlings like Killers of the Flower Moon and Wolfwalkers.

10. The Pigeon Tunnel

For a documentary about one of the most celebrated writers of spy fiction, The Pigeon Tunnel can seem—at first glance—deceptively placid. Clocking in at just over 90 minutes, the film features an extended conversation between David Cornwell, AKA John le Carre, and Oscar-winning docmaker Errol Morris. It’s just that. Two people talking, with Morris off-screen, their parrying question-and-answers broken up with archival images and re-enactments of Cornwell’s past, as well as snippets from the classic movies or TV adaptations based on his spy universe: The Spy Who Came in from the Cold, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and A Perfect Spy.

9. Hala

Writedirector Minhal Baig’s Hala is an intimate coming-of-age drama held up by its personal writerly touches and a star-making turn from Geraldine Viswanathan as the title character. Hala’s struggling with the same kinds of things we normally see high school characters struggle with: What to do after graduation, how to manage a relationship with her parents that’s not quite adult and not quite childish, and (of course) boys. Viswanathan’s understated quiet and the warmth in which the situations are shot (almost always centered on her face)—be they at a family dinner or a walk in a Chicago park or a reading of a high school English assignment—make the dramatic ricochet of Hala’s minor rebellion rattle us all the harder.

8. Boys State

The tendency to read too much into Boys State as a representative of American politics—contemporary, functional, broken and otherwise—doesn’t quite line up with the event itself, in which every year the American Legion sponsors a sort of mock government sleepaway camp in Texas for high school boys (girls get a similar program of their own), where attendees join parties, run for office, craft platforms, run campaigns, hold debates, then ultimately exercise their right to vote.

7. On the Rocks

Sofia Coppola’s new movie On the Rocks starts out as a story of possessive fatherhood, with Felix (Bill Murray) narrating to his teenage daughter, Laura: “And remember, don’t give your heart to any boys. You are mine until you get married. Then you’re still mine.” The girl laughs off the declaration as a jape, which turns out to be a catastrophic tactical mistake. In her womanhood, Laura (Rashida Jones), does indeed get married to a man, Dean (Marlon Wayans), and they have two beautiful daughters of their own, eldest Maya (Liyanna Muscat) and youngest Theo (Alexandra Mary Reimer).

6. Bruce Springsteen’s Letter to You

The black-and-white behind-the-scenes documentary accompaniment to Bruce Springsteen’s album of the same name, Bruce Springsteen’s Letter to You is a beautiful and companionable tour through the music and its making from an American master. Director Thom Zimny buys into the album’s concept, which focuses on just how long Springsteen’s been at this thing. Poignant juxtaposition with archival footage and pictures emphasizes just how long the E Streeters have been at this—and reminds us of who and what was lost along the way.

5. Fireball: Visitors from Darker Worlds

Werner Herzog will show you multiple clips from Mimi Leader’s Deep Impact for no other reason than because he likes them, he finds them well-done and evocative—he says as much in that even-keeled, oddly accented voice over—then soon after chastise “film school doctrine” when complimenting a field video shot by a South Korean meteor specialist in Antarctica. Like Nomad: In the Footsteps of Bruce Chatwin, his documentary from earlier in the year, Fireball (co-directed with Clive Oppenheimer, with whom he made 2016’s Into the Inferno) is less about what it’s about (meteorites, shooting stars, cosmic debris—and the people who love them) than it is about Werner Herzog’s life, which is his filmography, which is a heavily manipulated search for ultimate truth.

4. CODA

Sometimes a movie so successfully plunges you into its world that it completely engulfs you in a lived-in experience. From the gorgeous, scenic opening moments of CODA, you can almost smell the Atlantic salt air and pungent scent of the daily catch. The movie transports you to Gloucester, Massachusetts and lovingly drops you into the life of one family. Seventeen-year-old Ruby Rossi (Emilia Jones) is what the title of the movie refers to—a child of deaf adults.

3. A Charlie Brown Christmas

We could get into plenty of arguments over which Charlie Brown animated special is best, but A Charlie Brown Christmas is my favorite pull of the bunch. Charlie Brown’s confrontation with the Christmas season’s commercialism (back in 1965 no less) and a sad little fir tree make this a cartoon classic, as the ultimate funny-pages shlimazel suffers endless social indignities (no Christmas cards) and the holiday blues.

2. Wolfwalkers

Wolfwalkers is filmmaker and animator Tomm Moore’s latest project out of Cartoon Saloon, the animation studio he co-founded in 1999 with Paul Young, and the capper to his loosely bound Irish folklore trilogy (begun with 2009’s The Secret of Kells and continued with 2014’s Song of the Sea). At first blush, the film appears burdened with too much in mind—chiefly thoughts on everything from English colonialism to earnest portraiture of Irish myths, the keystones of Moore’s storytelling for the last decade.

1. Killers of the Flower Moon

Martin Scorsese has made a career telling stories that tackle issues of justice, retribution and betrayal. From his overt and poetic crime films, through to his dark comedies, religious parables and character pieces, he has long been drawn to stories where the ambiguities of life collide with the complexities of survival, and where day-to-day choices result in consequences sometimes obvious, and sometimes far more subtle and insidious.

2024.05.21 13:29 vito666 Comfortable car, Europe

Hmm, where to start? For a long time, I've wanted to buy my first car with my own money. My budget is around €20,000, and I'm looking for a car in Europe, specifically in Romania. I've been considering the BMW F01 730d, Lexus LS600h(200k km), and Mercedes W221. However, the BMW and Mercedes models are primarily diesel cars, with 300k in odometer. As far as I know, diesel cars need to be driven long distances, such as on the autobahn, which does not fit my usage. I work remotely and plan to use the car for trips to the grocery store or nearby lakes/parks for walks. I anticipate driving about 5,000 to 7,000 km per year.
Recently, a 2009 Lexus RX450h (with Mark Levinson music, air suspension, side camera, and HUD) caught my attention. However, I'm hesitant due to its age and the 230,000 km on the odometer.
I once rented a BMW X6 G06 B58, my dream car, which is sadly out of my budget. I loved its technology, including the 360-degree cameras, large screen, and CarPlay. I also rented a Mercedes GLB 220d and was disappointed. The car had around 25,000 km and already had gearbox issues.
To summarize, I don’t need a sports car; I just want the most comfortable car possible, equipped with lots of technology (like Distronic, pre-crash safety systems, a 360-degree camera, and CarPlay) and reasonable reliability. I am okay with spending €2,000 to €3,000 per year on repairs.
P.S.: In Romania, there aren't many Toyota, Lexus, Kia, or Hyundai cars, and I’m unsure how their maintenance costs here compare to those of German cars.

2024.05.21 13:08 Famous-Isopod-6983 Two questions about Vira

Hi everyone!
This is my very first fighting game and little by little I’m trying to learn how to improve my gameplay, so I’m sorry if my questions can sounds kinda noobish.
My main is Vira for ….Waifu reasons. At the moment I’m hard stuck in rank A and after praticing spacing, frame traps and some mid-screen and corner combos, I would like to ask two things that I still fail to get a grip on:
1- 22X : I’m getting used to always do it after a knockdown but I can’t really find any good way to make it worth. If I go in for a throw it generally miss because of blockstun, while if I try to 66L or some other meaty, I get beaten by reversals. What could be a good approach after summoning Luminera?
2- Anti-air: Can you suggest me a good combo after CH a jump of the opponent? After the natural 2H, the only way I found to hit the opponent is fM followed by 214H, but even that tend to miss/not link a lot.
Thanks in advance for all the advices!

2024.05.21 13:08 pippoz26 Color Calibration for Mac

Hi everyone,
I recently switched to Mac, buying a MacBook Air M3. Since it's a new operating system for me, I'd like to understand if I need to calibrate my external monitor ASUS ProArt Display PA278QV once connected to the Mac.
If I go to the display settings, I see that the color profile of the external monitor is correctly set to PA278QV, but I have never done any calibration or downloaded any color profile (which I had to do on Windows). Is this an automatic operation performed by the Mac?
The built-in Mac screen, on the other hand, is set to ADOBE RGB (1998).
Considering that I primarily use the computer for photo editing, I've noticed a substantial color difference between the two screens. The Asus monitor with its color profile seems a bit warmer in tones, with more orange color present.
Is it really like that, or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks

2024.05.21 13:07 Fridgefrog Who's liking the cool wet weather?

Rain! Finally after a decade of drought everything is green! My lawn is lush and I've mowed it twice already, prob as much as I did all last summer. Farmers are digging it, the province is 85% adequate, way higher than the last several years.
And I don't mind the cool, I can dress for it and my raincoat is awesome. If I don't have to install my air conditioner for another week or two that's fine too. An added plus...it keeps the bad guys away. No garbage pickers making a mess or thieves rooting through my stuff when it's pouring rain.

2024.05.21 13:06 No_Magazine257 Garda Raided Our House to Look for a Cannabis Farm (Innocent)

I'm currently living with my spouse in their parents' house. We both were on our computers with headsets on.
He asked several questions: "Why didn't you answer the door?" and "Is there anyone else in the house?". At some point during the confusion they mentioned they had a search warrant and they were to inspect the house.
One of the officers without a uniform looked like he was on drugs (maybe it was just adrenaline); all the other officers were a lot more chill and professional. In hind sight we forgot to ask to get a copy of the search warrant.
This is speculation, but we suspect that we may have been swatted; one of our next door neighbors holds a grudge against us.
Is there anything that we should do in response to this?

Hello, I have a Tesla air conditioner (not the car manufacturer, see here: https://tesla.info/en/ac-series/standard/). It works with the AC Freedom app, but I want to control it through Home Assistant (I’m new to it) and can’t find any integration method. Does anyone know how to do it?
It works with Google Home, but I want to add it to Home Assistant too, and I can't find a way to do it.
