Electrified looking hair products/ advices?đŸ„Ž
My hair is completely straight (These pics were taken after unbraiding my hair hence the wavy look) I’ve been struggling with frizz for a long time now. It’s been a while since my last shedding period. And I have no clue how to manage it. I just wanna stop looking messy no matter how I wear them. I check for split ends every once in a while and trim them. Braid it when I sleep and let it air dry after wash. Please help me

2024.05.21 21:47 CryptographerOld6569 IM DONE YAYYY

So finally after a year im finishedddd. I started on 30mg, had to drop to 10 and build back up to 30 because of some bad blood tests and then was on 40mg from october until late april. Then started lowering from 30 to 10 again and now im done!!!!! First 2 pics are the day i started, the rest were during the purging period and after that calmed down a bit and last 4 are last month and today. Im so happy like I genuinely feel so confident, only thing left is scaring and im talking with my derm abt doing some treatment about that. My side effects werent severe, i had the typical dry lips and scalp, hair breakage, rash on my hands, sore back and body aches. My weirdest side effects would be that my boobs got smaller and my pms symptoms were and still are completely different since i started taking 40mg. It really is worth it though, the best decision i ever made so just keep going even if you get discouraged.

2024.05.21 21:33 LyriumFlower Please Help!

Please Help!
I got this baby monstera about 3 weeks ago.
I have never really kept plants. And I don't know what I'm doing at all. I need advice from experts about what I can to make sure she's growing well and I'm not missing any problems.
So far, I moved her out of a plastic pot into this clay one, it has a hole at bottom. Her roots looked all right to me (but I'm not an expert). There wasn't any stink which I read is a symptom of root rot but I didn't pay a lot of attention and wouldn't have really known what to look for.
The medium is the same as the seller provided. I amended it with a few pieces of gravel to keep around her stem since it was wobbly. I sterilised it. I added some pumice, diatomaceous earth, neem cake and about 10 grains of osmocote. I've been watering her with diluted hydrogen peroxide solution every 2nd time. The soil medium has some Coco coir, many pieces of coco chips and bark, pumice and perlite. Her roots take up about half or a third of the pot volume.
I wait until the soil is dry as far down below as I can reach and then I flood with water, wait till it drains out in my sink and put her back in front of my east facing window. She gets direct sun about 2 hours a day and bright indirect light rest of the time.
I think her leaves are droopy and also curled downwards, and are developing brown tips. Pics 2, 8, 9.
Humidity is very low in my city and temperatures are high (15%, 40c today). My house stays at about 28c, which is comfortable for me and my cats but I don't know if it works for her. I've been taking her into the bathroom when I shower for steam for 2 days.
Should I mist? I read its not really helpful but there's very little chance of water sitting on her leaves if I do (high temps, low humidity, evaporates in minutes).
The very tips of some of her leaves have browned since I got her and her newest leaf (light green in the pics) has a few brown edges and tips. (There's some brown spots and holes too but they're from before I got her and she currently has no pests).
Should I increase watering? I usually water every 4th day currently. Should I decrease watering? The soil is pretty dry on the surface and I watered her 24 hours ago.

2024.05.21 21:04 mynamesnotlucy New growth damage on my neon?

New growth damage on my neon?
I’ve had this neon pothos for about 3 months now. Since bringing her home, she’s been growing absolutely beautifully, put out some stunning bright new growth, and has proven to be one of my easiest plants to maintain.
She had some damage to a few leaves when I bought her. I inspected for pests and ultimately just chalked it up to the Big Box store being too rough on the poor girl. I’m growing a bit concerned, however, as I’m noticing some of the new growth is coming in with similar damages.
I inspect for pests daily and as far as I can tell my only issue currently is some pesky fungus gnats. She’s in a bottom-drainage pot with chunky organic houseplant soil mixed with some pumice stones (done before I knew about perlite lol) and I only water her with tap water when the pot is light and soil is dry. She lives in an East (slightly NE) facing window about 2.5 feet from a humidifier.
I included pics of some of the new growth concerns as well as some of the similar damage in her older growth, in case it’s a disease or some other related cause.
Any idea what could be causing this? I know pothos aren’t meant to be perfect - that’s one of the things I love about them - but I definitely want to make sure there isn’t a bigger issue at play here!

2024.05.21 20:40 Geeeesh Advice needed: Yellow Spots on Orchid Leaves

Advice needed: Yellow Spots on Orchid Leaves
BACKGROUND: So let me start by saying this is the first orchid that has ever liked me back and I’ve kept for longer than a few months. I’ve had her over a year, got her at a grocery store, and in that time she’s bloomed twice. This is the second time and she grew two flower spikes, and there’s a baby spike forming on one of the branches. So proud.
PROBLEM: Recently she developed some yellow spots on the leaves. However, the bloom has continued and the flowers are gorgeous. Attaching pics here of the bloom, leaves, and window position.
CARE: I’ve had the orchid in front of a south facing window the entire time I’ve had it (I live in SoCal area), and when I see it’s dry, I hose it down with tap water and let it drain out completely. When the blooms fall off I prune from the point after the first flower.
IDK how, but it’s been working so I’m going with it.
I gave it distilled water a few weeks ago thinking she would like it, and then I noticed some spots.
TLDR: Does anyone recognize what these yellow spots on the leaves could be from, so I can avoid moving forward? Over watering, sunburn, natural aging, or something else? (Maybe the disco ball reflection? đŸ˜”â€đŸ’«)
GOAL: I know the yellow won’t go away but hope I can nip any further problems in the bud ASAP, so to speak.
I am definitely an orchid noob, so any advice from any of you who have dealt with this before would be very appreciated!! Thank you!

2024.05.21 19:52 1testaccount1 Does anyone use this Woolwax Permanent coating in their undercarriage?

https://www.woolwaxusa.com/Hard-On%E2%84%A2-Permanent-hard-coating-for-truck-frames-and-equipment_p_137.html
-Woolwax Hard-On is a high performance, permanent 1-time hard shell coating. NOT rubber. -This coating is not intended to be removed (be certain that you want a permanent coating). -This coating dries to a pure black. This is NOT a rubber coating.
-Hard-On by woolwaxℱ is NOT high-heat resistant. It will burn off at 140° F and should not be applied to tailpipes, mufflers, engine blocks, etc. A typical heat resistant coating will tolerate 800 - 1000°F. -Expected life expectancy is 5-10 years depending on use. -Acts as a sound and vibration deadener.
I'm interested in some pics or review especially if you've applied this for over a year.
I know/have applied the regular woolwax / fluid film before to prevent rust, but I'm specifically curious how this permanent hard coating worked out for anyone that applied it.

2024.05.21 19:11 cheridontllosethatno Hiking in dirt, old books and paperwork, the dust under my bed, my sinuses close up and I'm sick for days.

I quit two jobs in 8 years, the owners kept old papers piled up and in file cabinets that were opened regularly. My last employer used my office to store all documents from the early 80's. Same symptoms severe headache pressure fatigue light sensitivity for months. Luckily unemployment granted my claim, I took pics and documented Dr. visits .
I get the exact same symptoms hiking out doors in dry fine dust and some of the hiking trails here have ground up cement type products on them, instantly I feel my sinuses close and next several days I suffer severely.
Two days ago I grabbed something I stored under the bed and yesterday was hell with headache severe pressure and I can often taste the dust in my face. So weird. I have 3 air purifiers 2 in my bedroom and wash our sheets on hot every Sunday. Dust and vacuum often etc.
I honestly don't think I'm allergic to dust mites specifically it feels like anything airborne small enough to breathe in. Is that possible that the actual dust is what is making me sick? Dust mites aren't in outside dirt are they?
Sorry if it's a stupid question but is anyone else the same as me? People I used to hike with suggested I was making it up. (A holes) i had to stop hiking in those conditions, when I wore dust masks on hikes they made fun of me, pre-pandemic many were in Medicine too.
I have never met anyone with a similar problem.

2024.05.21 18:27 hagridstoast dentist put something into my empty socket before suturing?

i had a really weird experience;; went in for a consultation, & the dentist just started numbing me and took a tooth out with no communication.
After the tooth was removed, he put a small bullet shaped item (i assumed it was cotton?) where the tooth was taken from. then he sewed it up & put gauze in my mouth for me to bite down on.
I didnt get any take home care info or anything :( the bleeding has mostly stopped i believe, ive been really careful about avoiding dry socket.
but, now day 2 after the procedure, i have this terrible taste in my mouth, so i tried to look and see if there was blood or any discoloration. Everything looked fine but there is definitely a white little piece of something down really deep where the tooth was / up against my cheek. do i need to try to take this out??? i think it might be causing the bad taste but i really dont know. my follow up isnt until a week from today and its not super close by so i cant just run over and ask them to fix it.

30F, fine hair has become wispy and thin, worried about miniaturization. No bald spots afaik.
Hello, everyone, let me share my troubles! Hopefully my post is not out of place but it felt better to post here right away rather than in /finehair.
Long story short: 30F, mostly vegeterian diet, used to have a lot of fine hair but it's become both finer and thin over the past five years. Blamed aging but very worried about miniaturization now.
My hair has curl potential but I prefer to wear it straight (only blow dried) most of the time.
My hair was never something I was proud of. Still, as a teen and in my early 20s I could and would grow it long (I by no means expect it to stay the same forever). I've been unhappy with it for a while but it wasn't until a friend recently asked what's happened to the volume of my hair that I really started looking at old photos and panicking. 2015-2016 was it's absolute heyday but up until 2018, my hair looked and felt full and I actually remember feeling somewhat happy with it.
I first noticed a change in my hair texture after turning 25 five years ago. Hair that was always fine became even finer and wispy, but I assumed it was just a matter of getting older, my hair had never been that strong anyway. Products I loved suddenly didn't work as well anymore and I couldn't find anything that did. When I was younger and got a shorter cut, my hair would feel voluminous. The past couple of years I kept cutting, although I didn't really want to, hoping I could start over, but the short cut still looked flat and wispy and the ends would break sooner rather than later. I've been growing it out for the last two years but it just doesn't look good because I get breakage, the hair on the sides of my hair doesn't grow long anymore and so the ends are visibly thin. I am still in the process of growing out my bangs but the ends are already much thinner and I don't expect much from them at this point.
I haven't found any bald spots, my scalp actually appears to be full of hair but the density of the lengths doesn't reflect it and I absolutely hate what's become of my ponytail. I think I've gradually lost a good chunk of my hair density over the years. Where I live we go for a regular check-up bloodwork every two years, so I had bloodwork done in 2020 and 2022 and no issue with iron levels or thyroid has ever been detected (no idea how extensive check-up testing is for an otherwise healthy 20s woman, though).
I like to eat and cook, though I have to admit that my protein intake may be insufficient and I want to work on that. I eat mostly vegeterian, meat is extremely rare in my diet. I've never been a big fan of meat, fish or dairy, so it's not like I made a sudden change in my eating habits but I started consciously focusing on eating veggie and vegan in 2016-2017. No major stressful events in the past few years but I've suffered from anxiety my whole life.
I regularly supplement vitamin D + a hair multi containing B vitamins, zinc, selenium and methionin but I've always done that. My mom and dad are both in their mid-60s and still have heads as full of hair as ever. No history of female hair loss in the fam. I had COVID in early 2021and possibly also in Feb 2020 before it hit Europe, so no test. I don't think I was ever shedding an excessive amount of hair. I do usually shed some when I run my hand through my hair + while brushing + quite a lot in the shower but that's always been the norm for me. At some point I did think well, if this goes on what am I going to be left with? I guess I used to have so much hair it didn't make a difference for a long time.
I am not taking any medication and I haven't lost weight. If anything, I was a bit underweight when my hair was at its best. Plus I was dying it at the time!! My nails have always been rock hard, no changes there.
I've gone through a lot of posts the past couple of days, hoping maybe upping my protein intake and checking out my ferritin and hormone levels might help. Then I came across miniaturization and it feels like that could be the answer and so I'm freaking out. My whole head is baby fine at this point. Some hairs I shed are long, some are short and both usually have the white root at one end.
I have an appointment with my GP for next Tuesday and I'm gonna ask for bloodwork but in the meantime.. anyone with the same experience or any words of wisdom? It makes me so stressed and sad.
P.S. Also etting a haircut this Thursday
I've picked quite a lot of pics because pics always help!
Have a nice day everybody.

2024.05.21 18:04 Gazooonga Wayward II

Im glad y'all liked the last chapter. I'm going to continue this story and see where it goes. As usual, if you like this then make sure to like and comment: I really value your feedback. I'm also thinking of going back and editing some things, as I thought of some cool ideas that might make the story more interesting, mainly some Meta ideas to increase the depth of this litRPG. So make sure to go back and read the last chapter in a bit: some things may be different.
First
I gripped the rough leather hilt of my new sword tightly as I walked down the newly lit hall within this strange labyrinth. The air was dank and musty, and cobwebs hung from every corner. The dented blade glowed in the firelight, as did the breastplate, and I was just starting to warm up.
I didn't like this place: it made me feel uneasy. The loneliness was also crushing, but for some reason I was used to it. The weight of all my gear was also heavy, with all the weapons and rations causing my shoulders to ache, but I pressed forward. Something inside me insisted that this was familiar, and if I could do it before then I could do it now.
At first, the hall seemed unending, but after what felt like hours I finally reached a large, open room with a humble wooden throne in the center. The edges of the vaulted ceilings held great tapestries that had faded over time, the once magnificent artistry lost forever. Candelabras, urns, and braziers all forged from bronze and inlaid with different gems and precious metals were strewn about, and there was a gigantic bronze brazier at the center of the room, just in front of the throne.
On the throne sat a withered corpse wearing a crown of twisted branches, as well as rusted armor that had fused with flesh long ago. Simple wooden coffins lined the walls, six in total, each likely containing another corpse.
Then I noticed the brazier in the middle: it had long gone cold, the coals dead and waiting to be given life again by flame. But what worried me more was the burnt remains of the skeleton in the center: it was a reptilian thing, tall and robust judging by the size of the femurs, and it gripped a sword much like mine

Okay, I didn't like this place at all, not one bit. Whoever was here before me obviously met some horrible fate, maybe even burnt alive within the brazier, which was a fate I had no desire to experience.
Next to the throne was a chest, and anyone with common sense knew that opening the chest would probably be a bad idea. So I looked for something far more valuable: an exit. At the far end of the room we're a pair of double doors made from polished slate, and soni approached them. I ran my scaly hands across it and admiring the beautiful masonwork: engraved with elegant images of all sorts of events, such as men slaying giants, terrifying dragons burning down villages, great treasures hidden away, and a large mead hall with a boat as it's roof nestled on a hill, it was something out of legend. But that didn't matter, I just needed them to open so I could leave. They didn't budge from me pushing them, nor did they possess any handles or bars, so something else has to activate them.
I decided to see if I could get some answers out of the magic note turned journal. I pulled it out and began writing with the quill, the tip seemingly possessing an endless supply of ink. How do I open the doors?
Once again, my good hand began moving if it had a mind of its own, scribbling out a minimalist sentence that would probably be of no use to me. Open the chest.
I grumbled and wrote down another response. Will bad things happen if I open the chest?
More furious scribbling against my will. Bad things will happen either way.
Well, that was reassuring.
What will happen when I open the chest?
Bad things. I wanted to punt the book across the room. I just stuffed it back into my bag and growled again, the depth of my reptilian voice startling me. I was sure I wasn't supposed to sound like that, but I did. Maybe I was just overthinking this, and it was just a side effect of some kind of amnesia, but I really felt like I was in the wrong body.
I turned back to the throne and the chest next to it. It was a simple wooden thing with no lock, so it wouldn't be challenging to open at all. I walked towards it, sword in hand, anxiety shooting through me like electricity, and as I bent down to open it up I couldn't help but look behind me as I did so.
Then, with one simple motion, I opened it. There was more than I expected, but still not much, just a small pile of rough gold coins and a few assorted gems. I dipped my hand into the gold and pulled out a handful, the coins each easily the width of a golf ball and decently hefty too. Then I looked for a place to put them: if I was going to be put in danger for opening this damn chest, then I was going to get something out of it.
As I stuffed the gold into my pack, I heard creaking next to me, and I instinctively dropped my pack onto the ground and kicked it to the side before rolling away. The withered corpse lifted itself up from the wooden throne, a faint hissing escaping its lips as if its vocal chords no longer worked. Then it turned to me, eyes glowing red with hatred and jaw clenched. It balled its fists and deeper its hateful gaze before pointing at me and unleashing an ear-splitting hiss like that of copper pipes coming apart. I lifted up my longsword and held it in a defensive stance, backing away slowly as my ears rang. Then I felt a bony hand on my shoulder.
I spun around and swung the blade, vivisecting another corpse halfway. All the other coffins were bursting open, and the angered dead were hobbling out, some holding rusted and chipped weapons, others simply meandering towards me with the same hatred in their eyes as the first. I was surrounded.
I swung my sword and cut one’s head off, the otherwise dry and leathery flesh of its neck giving way to my old longsword. Then I sliced through the knee of another, sending it sprawling to the ground before I stomped its head into pieces. That left four, including the one on the throne. That one stood back, glaring at me and waving its hands as if conducting an orchestra, its armored robes flowing despite the lack of ventilation. It must be the one controlling the undead.
I matched forward, sword lifted again and swung at the leader of the undead. It blocked the strike with its armored bracer and swiped at me, bony hands scraping against my breastplate but also imbuing me with an overwhelming weakness to the touch, as if I hadn't slept for days. With a grunt, I kicked him back and onto the floor, but the rest of the dead seemed to fall into a frenzy, charging at me as if they were rabid ghouls. I needed to end this, and I needed to end it now.
I impaled the first undead and kicked him off alongside their ringleader, then slammed the pommel of by sword into the forehead of the next with a spiteful roar that seemed to charge the air with static, crushing the undead’s skull inward and releasing the energy trapped within as if crumbled to the floor. The third swiped at my arm, causing an intense cold to run through me and a horrible pain to erupt from the deceptively small laceration, as if maggots were chewing on my flesh. I roared again and swung diagonally, vivisecting the decrepit thing all at once.
That left the composer. It stood back up and seemed even angrier than before, as if it had actually cared for those skeletons. Then I heard a voice behind its bestial whispers, a voice that almost sounded
pained. “Hadvar, Bþrge, Aegilief, Gunhild, Halfdan, Ivar! Do not fall, not to this dragon’s bastard!” It seemed to exclaim, but its cries seemed to fall on deaf ears as the corpses were no more, what remained of the flesh disintegrating into nothing more than ash, leaving only dirty bones behind.
“You shouldn't have attacked me.” I said behind grit fangs, my body still recovering from the effects of their icy touch. But no matter how much I tried to justify it to myself, it always felt like a weak response: I was probably plundering some poor guy's tomb, and then proceeded to kill all his friends to boot. I was in the wrong here, but I wasn't just going to be trapped in this shit hole of a tomb forever.
Then I looked at the brazier, which was now lit and burning, the otherwise bleached white bones of the reptile thing within coated in fresh soot. They would've killed me, or I would've starved. And they were already dead, anyway: for all I knew the undead here were held together by nothing more than old memories and whatever terrible magic possessed this place. I wasn't going to die yet, I at least wanted to see the sun one last time.
“Sorry about you and your friends, but I'm not going to die here today,” I said, trying to seem apologetic, “I've only got one shot, or so I've been told.” I matched forward again, unwavering, and busted him in the head with my pommel before slicing off his arm at the joint when he tried to reach out for me again, hissing with anger. Then, as I bullied him backwards to put some length between us, I finally kicked him one last time and jammed the end of my sword into his empty eye socket, sending the blade through his rotting head and out the back. He let out one last hiss before going limp, whatever magical nonsense holding him together dissipating as his body crumpled and his bones unknitted themselves.
I dropped the sword with a grunt and sank to my knees. My head felt like it was stuffed with cotton, and my stomach was churning. The horrible sickness the undead gave me when it swiped at me seemed to be winding down, the pain in my arm dull and more distracting than painful, but the unbearable cold and discomfort was still coursing through me. I needed to get out of this wretched place. This was a tomb, right? Maybe that door led to some kind of exit to the outdoors, or at least a pathway to it.
I forced myself back up on my feet, retrieved my bag and filled it with the rest of the treasure from the chest, and strapped everything on my back once again. I would probably want to find some kind of civilization, maybe a place where this gold would hold some value, because then maybe I could use it to find some answers.
Behind me, the doors began to crumble with a glowing purple light, as if the magic that has sealed it had been broken with the death of the undead on the throne, and I could see some semblance of light. I rushed towards it, only to find myself in an even colder area than before. The air was frigid and filled with a thick, looking fog that seemed to sap the strength out of me. It felt like an early spring morning, when it would go just above freezing and the rain had come in droves overnight, leaving behind the mist. Spruces, pines and other evergreen trees towered around me, and the forest floor was coated in thick roots, mossy rocks, vines, and dead evergreen needles. A dirt path that had long been overtaken by the forest stretched away from the tomb I had emerged from, leading me away from this place.

2024.05.21 17:38 Resident_Buddy8587 Heavy Scabbing and “Wet” Look?

Heavy Scabbing and “Wet” Look?
Hi, this is my first time posting on Reddit ever, but I tried to find answers from other people’s posts with no luck. Please bear with me, as this is a looong post (can you tell I’m scared??)
I got this tattoo about 5 days ago while traveling. I am very nervous about how this tattoo is healing, and looking for opinions. This healing process feels like everything that could go wrong, has
Pics were taken today, about 30 minutes after washing & lotion— one with flash one without. Wish I took pics from previous days to show progress, but oh well.
Here is some context on my nightmare:
  1. This is my third and smallest tattoo, but is the only tattoo I’ve ever gotten that has an area completely “filled in” and the only color tattoo I’ve gotten (not sure if this is somehow relevant). Both of my other tattoos went through the peeling/flaking phase but never actual scabbing like this. The line work on this tattoo is totally fine, but the actual cherries basically completely scabbed up.
  2. When I got the tattoo I wore the saniderm for about 24 hours and when I took it off it came off super easily because the inside was full of weeping ink, plasma, and I think a good amount of sweat from walking around (I was on vacation in Europe). This is part of why I am nervous, because I suspect the tattoo was too wet for its first 24 hours of life. When I took off the saniderm the tattoo had a gooey slimy feeling and pieces of this slime came off in the shower. I did some reading and it looks like people said it was plasma or maybe bubbling. I lotioned it as I normally would with a tattoo, because in the moment I didn’t know any better.
  3. Next day I did some reading on the gooey situation and decided to not moisturize for a day to try to get it to dry out a little bit. This is around when the scabs formed. Not sure if the scabs formed from the plasma or how that works.
  4. After the heavy scabbing (you can still see some of it in the darker area of the cherry). I started to do lotion again. Follow the wash with Dial, pat dry, unscented lotion. Thought the issues would end here— nope!
  5. One of the times after washing I grabbed some paper towel to pat dry and a chunk of scab came off. Underneath is still red color (so thankfully the tattoo hasn’t just fallen off) but that part of the tattoo looked really wet and shiny. I figure that’s because it’s new skin and also maybe is leaking/weeping?? Not sure, but I tried to continue with the normal process.
  6. This morning I wake up to find that my clothing was stuck to the tattoo. Well fuck. I got the clothing wet to remove it as gently as possible. Took some scab with it. Same outcome as last time (wet, shiny). Scab “removal” didn’t hurt either time, but I’m still concerned. Also, where the scabs fell off looks “deeper” than the rest of the skin there, as if multiple layers came off.
  7. Tried to read a lot online and in this thread. Determined that the cherries probably were overworked, but I don’t think the first 24 hours of having the tattoo helped the situation. Since having taken those photos, I have tried to pat it dry again and will probably try to not lotion for a few days, as that was the advice given under other posts. I am also air drying right now before I put clothing back on it (unfortunately can’t walk around without pants today).
  8. Tattoo isn’t hot and doesn’t hurt except for lotion this morning which was accompanied by a light stinging feeling. There’s not a significant amount of redness around the tattoo and it’s not raised. So, I do t think it’s infected currently, but I’m worried it’s high risk.
I have already accepted that I will need to get this touched up, so that’s fine. Irritated because this is my smallest and easiest tattoo ever, and I don’t understand how it went so so wrong. Feel like it had a bad start and I probably did the wrong thing at every turn. Neither of my other tattoos ever had issues (both large and on my ribs), but of course the tiny one on my ASS is a disaster lol.
Not even sure what advice I am looking for here. The pictures look very scary, as you can see. Is there any way this can be mostly salvaged? I keep having an irrational fear that I am going to lose a chunk of skin here and be horribly scarred. What do I do moving forward??
Luckily, I have an existing appointment with my dermatologist in 3 days, so I can get her to take a look at the skin and determine the damage. :( Please send good vibes to me and my disaster tattoo. Thank you!

How to get Albion sword handle dye to dry?
I received my first albion about 2 weeks ago (Vigil). The sword came in with the dye still not dry. It caused the dye to smudge a bit near the wrap “line”. Can’t really tell in these pics.
This is a not a huge deal and i’m very happy with the sword. However, it’s been about 2 weeks of me mostly not touching the handle at all and it’s still not totally dry. I have a small fan on it in an air conditioned room. Does anyone have similar a experience or know approximately how long the drying process usually takes?

2024.05.21 17:01 miastorage My experience and analysis of smoking Pilosella officinarum (Commonly know as Hawkweed)

My experience and analysis of smoking Pilosella officinarum (Commonly know as Hawkweed)
Whenever I find a new plant in my area, I always do my best to identify it. I thought this one was specifically interesting because I kept seeing (rather vague and unreliable) references to it being a substitute for cannabis.
WikiHealing
ShamanAustalis
To prepare it, I took mostly the leaves, but also included some of the unbloomed flowers (See pic 1), as well as a singular bloomed yellow flower and one of the roots. I washed them by spraying warm water on them through a colander. I then baked at 177 C (350F) for a few minutes, no specific amount of time, just until slightly crunchy from being dried out. There was total about a gram or two of dried herb.
I smoked the dryest parts first, then the medium wetness, and then some of the fresh herb. The dry parts were pleasant to smoke, and even had a nice flowery taste. The medium wetness stuff had a slight taste of paint, and would occasionally make me gag on exhale. I couldn’t finish the wet bowl, it made me gag so much, not from the taste or an upset stomach or anything - it just did it on exhale.
After coming inside to go into a slightly sensory deprived area (a cool room with the only light coming through curtains) to observe the effect, I can understand why it is often compared to weed. I could feel a surprisingly strong “buzzing/pulsing” sensation. It is pretty mild compared to cannabis but it is definitely more than just placebo. It made me very relaxed. I had more vivid imaginations when my eyes are closed, as well as slight auditory hallucinations - also mild compared to when using THC - but still prominent.
It left a very thick tar inside of the bowl (see pic 4).
Conclusion: I think this could be a substitute for marijuana if someone didn’t enjoy the more intense effects of it, and just want a small relaxant. I would not operate a motor vehicle after use. Pilosella off. is something I’d definitely try again and I’m going to harvest a larger batch and dry it for later use.
I’d love to hear any of your experiences or any questions!

Help! Mushroom Hair
Help! Mushroom Hair
Hey everyone! I went to the salon yesterday with medium brown hair and showed several pictures of what I was going for. I wanted to add some dimension and wanted “mushroom brown”. I said several times that I wanted COOL tones, vs warm. She did foils and said I lifted really well and then she toned me. While she was drying me, we both noticed I was looking very brassy, so she re-toned me. The second time looked a lot better but I didn’t have the time or patience to tell her it still wasn’t what I wanted. The first pic is what I’m going for and the second is what I have right now. Is there anything I could pick up at Sally’s or Ulta that could get rid of the warm tones?

2024.05.21 15:25 Don-tMention Distance

Hii im not sure which flair to use and I’m not sure what to do in this situation, but I’d love some advice.
I’m (22f) currently engaged (23m) , but we’re doing long distance, at the beginning of next year we plan on getting married and moving in together. We have a 7hour time zone difference but we’re always in contact, he calls me every night after work and we text during the day. But for the last 2 weeks he won’t even send me a message back. I tried multiple times to ask if something was wrong, asked if there was something going on since he had been extremely distant, and his excuse is that he goes to work and sleeps. Which is okay I understand that work can be tiring, but there’s nothing new about his schedule, he still works the same hours, same days, same everything, nothing new.
I tried giving him his space because I didn’t want to pressure him into talking to me if that wasn’t something he wanted. But yesterday I messaged him telling him I missed him and that he hasn’t spoken much and all he replied with “yeah we gotta change that” and a series of very random emojis, I asked if he was okay, he used the same excuse, then when I started being a bit shorter with my responses he asked if I was ok, I told him I was but I really missed talking to him, he then processed to go “why haven’t you called then” - each and every single time I call him he doesn’t pick up because he’s either tired and asleep or out with his mates, so I don’t bother calling anymore BUT I have been staying up until the time he gets off work (like 4am my time zone) and msging him, kinda hoping he’d call. He doesn’t even respond to me. I told him this (the staying up to talk to him but him not replying so what the point of calling) this response was that he sees me msging him he just doesn’t want to talk to me. “Have I done something?” “No”.
The most talking we’ve done the last two weeks is that^ and he sent me a tt that was like “may 19 is send your bf explicit pics day” (along those lines not exactly like that) which I didn’t because I wasn’t in the mood. Other than those two actual convos it’s just me looking desperate and spamming him whilst getting left on seen or really dry responses.
My issue is, I’m not asking for much. In fact I’m not really asking for anything, texting back isn’t even the bare minimum, All he does now is like the reels I send him on insta and send me blank snaps. I don’t know how to go on with this because it’s literally driving me insane lol. I don’t want to talk to his mother or sisters about it because I feel like it’s weird and unnecessary, so idk anymore, what’s am I meant to do lol.

2024.05.21 14:26 Kermaboy Help a non wine person store some bottles

Help and hello, i tried to make this post before with pictures but the automod told me include the "original tasting notes" and i dont know what the hell that is, so no pics lol.
I'm not exactly a wine lover but its good to have around incase of friends so i need your help. The problem is I live in an European city where AC isn't exactly common. So during summer days the temperatures is between 25-30°C inside the apartment. But I have heard that you shouldn't store the bottles in the fridge either.
I don't really care if I don't get to experience the "full flavour profile" I just don't want them to go bad or sour or whatever the hell happens to wine if it's stored improperly lol.
I tried goggling but that wasn't very helpful as I was unsure what was actually good advice and what was just wine snobbery.
I have stored the bottles on my kitchen counter top for about a month so have I already ruined them? And what should I do moving forward? Options are 25°C kitchen cupboard and 5-7 °C fridge.
Here are the bottles if that matters, also they all are unopened if that makes a difference:
Red wine: Antario Barolo 2019 (a gift)
White wine: Waimea Sauvignon blanc 2021 and Deep roots Riesling dry 2023 (recommendations from friends)
TLDR. Room too hot, fridge to cold, what do?
Thank you for reading this long ass post and I appreciate any advice. Also sorry for formating, it's impossible on mobile to get it right.

2024.05.21 11:07 lanter67 Ludwig’s ball guide

After Luds comment on his last stream I did a quick Reddit search and found this post from 9yrs ago in sex by U/LudwigAhgren
Note: It was a funny read and definitely in his charming grammar style.
Note 2: Some of links do not work anymore but, a few still do.
“The Ultimate Guide to Shaving Your Pubes for Beginners (Men)
If you have a bush like Brillo© , or just want to trim up the forrest so others can pass safely, you're in the right place.
I split groin hair into 5 different groups. Below I have listed the difficulty of each area as well as what kind of shave each area shall receive.
This is what we want the end product to look like. (His pubes look like the mustache of almighty Zeus himself!)
Pubic Hair Ball Hair Taint/Gooch Hair High Thigh Hair Shaft Hair
Easiest to shave. Needs to be trimmed down (No new-born baby penis look) Scariest/Most Difficult to shave. This will be a clean shave. Moderate difficulty. Up to shaver, but I prefer a clean shave. Easy to shave. This will be a clean shave. Nicks can happen here easily. This will be a clean shave.
Tools Needed: Shaving cream (MUST - Practice before which shaving cream works best! Sometimes Conditioner can work better),
electric razor (The side that pops out I will refer to as buzzer and the side with the guard I will refer to as electric razor from here on out)
A Women’s! shaving razor (women’s razors have a much higher guard and will protect better than one for men.

*PLEASE BE PREPARED!* I mean it’s your balls we’re talking about here

Step 1: The first step will be to shave the pubic hair. Depending on how much hair is down there, you have the option to go at it with scissors like a harbor before throwing the buzzer down there. If you have an average amount (2”>x) then go at it with the buzzer. Hover your family jewels over the toilet, you may even choose to sit like a cool substitute teacher. Brush the square side of the buzzer backwards across your pubes vertically. It may seem as if it isn’t doing anything but trust me you’re losing hair faster than LeBraun James. Continue this until you deem it short enough, I like my pubes around 1/2”.
Note Make sure the pubes length is even throughout, focusing on areas that with longer hair to insure optimum symmetry, bitches love symmetry. Use a mirror!

Step 2: Now you’ll want to ‘square’ out your hair and completely shave off any outliers around your pubes. Perhaps you have a leaky happy trail? Or maybe your pubes are ‘fading’ in. Either way you’ll want this instead of this (not penis don’t fret) Use a mirror to make sure it’s not lopsided.

Step 3: Here we are going to tackle that upper thigh hair that encompasses the whole male crotch area. Now get all nakey if you aren’t already and hop in that shower. Make sure the water is warm because you’re going to be in there for a while. Whip out you’re shaving cream of choice, I use this because it makes the blade glide across my nuts (phrase of the day!). To be fair I am more metrosexual than most gay men. Anyway(!) lather that shaving cream on to you’re upper thigh, above the pubes and right around the taint (make sure the water isn’t washing it all away) and start shaving those areas. The shaving razor will insure that these areas are hair-free.
Note Make sure the blade follows the surface of the skin. You want max blade to skin contact.

Step 4: Here’s my favorite part. Shaving the shaft. Why is it my favorite? It adds an inch to your perceived dick length (now your dick will look like it’s an inch longrekt. Extend your dick by pulling out your head. It will give a similar surface on the base of the dick to an erect penis. Now with the shaving cream and razor, shave the front part of the base, while always making sure the base is flat. Then do each side, trying your best to make the area being shaved flat. A flat area not only allows the razor to get more hair, it also prevents little nicks that can occur. I’ll refer back to Davidfor how far down the base you should shave.
Note If you look at the pic of David, you’ll notice he shaved the area to the right and left of his penis. That is totally you’re call, I have no opinion I find both to by stylish in their own penis way.

Step 5: The balls. AKA Holyshitiamsoscarediamgoingtochopmynutsoff. You may be tempted to skip this part, but trust me, hairy balls do not look good when the rest has been shaved. If you start this, you must to finish it. You are the chosen one. You are supposed to bring balance to your pubes, not leave them in darkness! Do it for the (potential) children.
Back to the balls. We’re going to first start with the outside balls. To do this get in your best captain stance which creates a nice U shape between your thigh and outer left/right ball. This is the kind of U Brett Farve has been talking about. Now, using that handy shaving cream and razor, this should be quite easy. Gently go up that are and always going along the grain. Don’t switch up directions here, that’s too ballsy.
After that’s done we’re going to drift away from the pubes for just a bit. Throw some shaving cream on the taint (this is the area that prevents you from shitting on your balls) and you’ll want to shave from your asshole to the base of your balls. Always going in that direction. IMPORTANT If you touch your taint (ew you’re gross) you’ll notice there is a line. Kind of feels like hair running from your asshole to your balls. It’s actually a vein that controls your orgasms. DO NOT SHAVE ON THIS VEIN Shave to the left and right of it. Don’t go directly on it. I don’t think anything will happen if you do
 but better safe than orgasmless.

Step 6: Back to the balls and the last part of the shaving in the shower. This part is difficult and to be honest I’m not sure of the best way to approach this. Balls are weird and that they have no fucking shape and 2 million wrinkles. I like to first take my electric razor and use the buzzer part of it. Then I just air swipe my balls getting all the hair about 1/4” short. Then I take the shaving cream and focus on specific parts squeezing my balls to get maximum surface area. This seems to work out for me, but keeping it 1/4 of an inch isn’t that big of a deal. Hair that short is difficult to notice and ladies/men will still suck your nuts.
Note Loosen up before shaving your balls. Take deep breaths and relax. Make sure your asshole isn’t clenched because that raises your balls. And if you’re down there shaving with a clenched asshole, and for any reason your asshole unclenches, you’re balls will drop (again) and hell will break loose. It is better to shave them while they are low and have them clench upwards.

Step 7: Clean up all the pubes off of your body. This is no simple task. Water is an adhesive so you’ll have to detach the shower head and put that all up in your business. I like to turn on the bath and use that heavy rush of water to cleanse my body of those clingy cutoff pubes. Hop out the shower, dry off and look at your masterpiece Michelangelo. But you are not done yet!

Step 8: Similar to barbers, you will have missed a few hair and you’ll probably have a few 2 inch hairs amongst you’re gently coiffed pubes. Grab a pair of nail scissors or whatever tool you prefer and chop those suckers off. The majority will be on your balls. A fun thing I like to do that is totally fucking weird, is pulling long pubes on my balls and plucking them off. It is surprisingly easy to do so because of the loose ball skin. Don’t yank it out like a band-aid though or you’ll need a band-aid (Ha Ha.. I’m not funny)

Voila, you’re done. Get some aftershave on those freshly shaven balls to disinfect your nicks and make those meaty knockers smell like a man. Congratulations and I hope I was of some help!

Edit 1: Let't talk about asshole hair, (what a great conversation startfuriouslyjotsdown) that area can be shaved and it can look/feel good! But personally, I like to keep my Brown Eye of Sauron to myself. No traveller has dared venture down so I feel no need to shave.
Edit 2: One of my ball shaving colleagues has alerted me that the 'taint vein' is actually, "[A] scar, from where the skin fuses before birth and is called the perineal raphe." (Google it for some nice visuals)

Thank you all for the great response! Being on the front page of sex is something all my future employers will be impressed by. I recently shaved and I seriously mistook my junk for King David's jewels (obviously he is miles bigger) and I thought I'd right down exactly what I did.”

2024.05.21 10:38 thatmfchicken Why do my springtails keep dying ?

Why do my springtails keep dying ?
I Set up this vivarium for a gecko im getting soon, I gave it plenty of space to establish (3-4 Weeks) and I don't ever see any springtails. My isopods were doing fine for a while but their numbers have definitely decreased by like halfas well. I have leaf litter and plenty of other natural elements like sticks and Bark they could much on. The materials I used for the terrarium were collected from my local forest and I think they are okay since I also used them in my Master colony wich is thriving, so I don't think its the materials. The terrarium has a humidity of 45-68% at all times. I mist it daily. Temperature vary from 25°C (during the day) to 19°C (at night). I already re introduced more springtails twice in hopes that they just needed a bigger starting number but nothing helped
Some things I think could lead to them dying but im not sure is that: -I have an issue with fungus knats atm (I'm dealing with it just waiting for mosquitobits to arrive in mail)
-I haven't fed them anything yet because there was a molding stage in the terrarium wich I thought was enough for them to munch on.(but after that initial mold went away they weren't fed for like 2weeks)
-too good circulation? I have a fan at the top of the terrarium that basically runs on low all day long to help with circulation and prevention of more mold. But it makes the soil at the top layer dry out relatively fast and I'm afraid they're dying from dehydration or something.
-fume residue from silicone. I heard springtails are very vulnerable to pollution so maybe they're getting sick from the silicone I used? I used aquarium grade silicone but I didn't air out the terrarium fullyy before putting in the soil. It still had a faint vinegary smell to it when I put the soil, isopods and springtails in it. The smell is gone by now and the terrarium smells fresh like the forest but im still worried.
If anyone has any idea what it could be please let me know I'm starting to get worried that I have to dismantle everything and change the soil (I have legit no money left to do that)
(First pic is terrarium set up the it herself are of the master colony that I fed for the first time in 2 weeks yesterday)
