2024.05.21 07:56 Hot_Bandicoot_3839 How to Retrieve Data from Encrypted Apple APFS Volume

How to Retrieve Data from Encrypted Apple APFS Volume
https://preview.redd.it/b1wcu1pmxp1d1.jpg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a1adeed597b6d88347e8606da572f4993a3611db
Unlike HFS+, the modern Apple APFS file system—used in macOS 10.13 High Sierra and later—supports disc encryption by default. It can therefore protect critical user data at the file system level without providing the extra abstraction that Core Storage does. Its state-of-the-art security features notwithstanding, the technology is unable to guarantee against data loss. A power outage or human mistake are two of the many possible causes. Fortunately, files erased from an encrypted APFS volume on an internal or external drive can be recovered with the correct password or recovery key. After that, it can be restored to any secure location, barring catastrophic damage that has destroyed the disk's component parts that contain the metadata and encryption key file, among other things, that are necessary to decrypt the data. To decrypt your Apple storage and recover the encrypted data in BLR BitLocker Data Recovery, RAID, or Network RAID editions, simply follow the instructions that are provided. See the second instruction if you plan to use BLR Professional Data Recovery.

Regarding the Standard, RAID, or Network RAID editions of BLR Tools

1. Connect your Apple APFS-locked device to the PC.
Attach the portable hard drive encrypted to your Mac. If it's internal storage, you'll need to take it out of the computer and use it as a secondary drive on another computer, or you can use the BLR BitLocker Recovery tool for the recovery to start your Mac in a secure environment. It is also possible to work on the same Mac, but in order to do so, System Integrity Protection must be disabled, as detailed in Unblocking access to macOS drives. However, the latter choice is not recommended because there is a high likelihood of overwriting the data. Moreover, as the linked article goes on to explain, data cannot be recovered from the system drives of Mac models that depend on Apple's M1 (Apple Silicon) or T2 security chips.
2. Run BLR BitLocker Data Recovery Tool Standard Recovery after installation.
Enter the correct username and password to open the software with elevated privileges. In the left pane, the programme will list every drive that is connected. Each physical device's logical volumes will appear beneath it.
3. Locate the necessary encrypted APFS volume from the list that appears.
Check if an APFS partition—designated by a yellow padlock icon—is present in the list.
4. To access the application's content, decrypt the storage.
Even if the file system is marked as accessible, until it is decoded, no valid data can be obtained from it. To do this, select the "Decrypt encrypted APFS volume" option from the volume's context menu by opening it. Enter the correct user password in the dialogue that appears, or copy and paste the recovery key into the appropriate field.
5. In order to recover lost or deleted files, perform a scan on the decrypted volume.
The volume will unlock and its contents will be available within the programme following a successful decryption. You can also use the storage to scan for lost or deleted files. Select only APFS from the list of file systems when using the "Scan this storage" tool from the toolbar, then click the "Start scan" button.
6. Once the required recovered elements have been verified, save them to a different location.
Once the scanning process is complete, use the application's reconstruction of the file system to locate the necessary folders and files. Next, select "Define selection", check the boxes that correspond to them, and click "Save selection." Next, designate a secure location for the copy to be stored.

Regarding BLR Tools

  1. Link the computer to the encrypted Apple APFS device.
Connect the external drive that is encrypted to the Mac. You can either use the BLR Data recovery software to boot your Mac in a safe environment or extract the system disc from the machine and attach it to another computer as secondary storage if you need to work with it. If you disable System Integrity Protection as outlined in Unblocking access to macOS drives, you can still work on the same Mac, but it is not advised due to the high risk of data overwriting. Furthermore, on Mac models that use Apple's M1 (Apple Silicon) or T2 security chips, data recovery from internal drives is not possible. For further details, please see the provided article.
  1. Run BLR BitLocker Data Recovery after installing it.
Once the correct user and password have been entered in the pop-up window, launch the programme with administrative privileges. In the left pane's list of connected storage devices, the application will show all of the attached drives. Logical volumes will be arranged beneath each physical device.
3. Select the required encrypted APFS volume from the storage list.
Search the list for the required encrypted APFS partition, which will be indicated by a yellow padlock icon.
4. To open the data, use the decryption tool that the software has provided.
The partition is marked as accessible, but until it is decoded, the data inside cannot be read. Select the "Decrypt encrypted storage" option from the volume context menu, then opt for the "APFS volume decryption" technique. Enter the recovery key, complete with dashes, or enter the correct user password in the designated field.
5. Look through the decrypted storage to recover lost or deleted files.
The available files will be viewable in the software interface once decryption is finished. By scanning the storage, you can also locate the ones that were lost or erased. Select the appropriate tool from the toolbar, deselect all other file systems, save APFS, and then click "Start scan" to begin the scan.
6. After selecting the necessary recovered items, copy them to a different disc.
Once the process is complete, you can locate the necessary folders and files by browsing the file system that the programme has restored. Click "Define selection", check the ones you want to save, then click "Save selection." Next, decide which safe destination folder to put the saved items in.

2024.05.21 06:05 Lost_Soul_22 IPAD PRO ISSUE

Got the app all setup, folders and everything. Got some GBA and ps1 .bios roms. When I scan content from directory it automatically creates the rom folders in retroarch.
The problem is that not all the Ps1 games are showing up. GBA is all good. All the games appear. The problem is the ps1.
However, when I change directory to the download folders, the missing games are there and I can load them normally. But they do not appear in the roms folder I created.
I deleted and tried many times. Same thing keeps happening.
Help!

2024.05.21 03:14 AveryFreeman Does anyone using Rye have a way to use its `init --virtual` environment for libraries?

I've been working with Python using rye in a Linux environment every day for the last 3 months. My OS (Arch Linux) uses Python for a lot of system resources, so I've been isolating my development environments from the system using rye init --virtual, which creates a .venv folder I can source in the conventional way.
rye has been super convenient, but from what I understand it doesn't support virtual environments for developing libraries, only apps. Official docs: Virtual projects are projects which are themselves not installable Python packages, but that will sync their dependencies. I need to package some stuff for PyPi, so I am hoping to get some feedback on the solution I've come up with:
I set up different shells (bash and zsh) where I have environments set up for pyenv + virtualenv and rye respectively, and can switch between fairly easily. In the bash shell, I've layered pyenv with the built-in python -m venv command to create virtual environments with different versions of Python, since python -m venv .venv would otherwise create a venv using my system version of Python (e.g. I need to invoke python -m venv $VENV_FOLDER with the version of python I want to use with it - correct me if I'm wrong about that).
I think I might be able to use the virtualenv package to specify Python version, but after scanning the docs briefly I didn't see how, so I went with layering the built-in venv command over pyenv, since I already had a pyenv setup I was using before I switched to rye (glad I commented the shell variables out instead of deleting them!)
Anyway, that's my dual-shell package manager work-around. rye is unmistakeably more convenient, so I'd rather be using rye than venv + pip for libraries, but I'm unsure of how. Do any more experienced developers out there have any suggestions or critique for my setup? Thanks :D
PS: Dear Python developers, I read (legitimate) complaints about dealing with dependency management, and sure, they are a bit of PITA, but after working with npm/nodejs(bun/deno/pnpm/whateverisnexttomorrow) for a few years, don't forget it could be a LOT worse...

Movie duplication issue because of Dash
So I have had this ongoing issue for quite a long time where occasionally i will end up with duplicate movies...the commonality that I've noticed is that the movies have a colon in them and i will end up with a duplication ( I believe this happens with TV shows too, but not as often).
I have looked at both Radarr and TMM and chased in both directions and to be honest i can't be totally sure which is the causation of the duplication, but I've found an error in the logs that suggest that TMM may be running into an issue that doesn't allow the renaming process to complete when it finds a duplicate movie (or at least that's the latest theory I'm going with) I've chased this with Radarr support and they can't quite pinpoint it from their side either.
This issue seems to be with exclusively the folder, not the movie file...all the files and artwork look fine...just the folder.
Example: Movie R.I.P.D. 2: Rise of the Damned (2022)
Configured in Radarr to replace with [space]-[space] If a colon is found.
Configured in TMM to replace colons with \"-\"
they seem to be configured in a way that would produce the same result....the example file path looks ok in TMM
However, at a later point in time ( always when I'm not watching...I've watched these processes from end-to-end and they work just fine...seems to be when my automation is doing it, that i get these results). I will get movie duplication that has the movie with the dash with no space...I feel that this is the causation of when a movie gets upgraded or replaced.
https://preview.redd.it/mraxkidkeo1d1.png?width=517&format=png&auto=webp&s=80fabe7f350231f88e59fb2b4a85b777cc9568e1
I looked in the TMM logs and i see these messages "\Movies\Movies 4\R.I.P.D. 2- Rise of the Damned (2022)\.actors\Richard_Brake.jpg"
This indicates to me that the folder exists as "R.I.P.D. 2-" after a scan has completed and files are being moved...
Then finally i see this error message in the logs that says
2024-05-20 01:58:59,926 INFO [tmmpool-rename-T1] o.t.core.movie.MovieRenamer:261 - Renaming movie: R.I.P.D. 2: Rise of the Damned

So i guess because it's already been properly named once that it is not able to do it again? I'm really at a loss on how to solve scenarios like this. I have looked at Radarr Trace logs and an error message does not exist for this movie. I would almost consider this a bug or a missed setting...but i would need to know what setting to adjust to navigate this. Please help.

FX3100 gateway status monitoring
I used REST API to pull status from FX3100 gateway and incorporate it within Home Assistant.

But seems the gateway does not provide values for RSRP and RSRQ.

2024.05.21 00:22 dongzhongli Trouble with mods.

Hi - first time posting on here so I apologize if it's not up to standard. Lmk if any formatting issues.
I've been having problems with installing mods. Basically when I download a mod and put it into the mods folder it doesn't show up in the actual Minecraft directory - but I found the issue was deeper than I thought.
I'm using Fabric and playing on version 1.20.1. I've made sure that all mods that I've downloaded are for Fabric and are the correct version, as well as seeing if they are compatible with other mods.
I think I sort of know what the issue is, but I'm not very tech-savvy and this is my first ever sort-of PC (playing on laptop) after being used to playing on my phone and using Bedrock - so I'm not quite acquainted with Java Edition.
I've managed to sort of "solve" the problem with the Farmer's Delight mod which is the first mod that I started having this problem with. Basically the pack.mcmeta file had a formatting issue which didn't allow it to be scanned by Minecraft and as such would not appear in the Minecraft resource pack directory in the actual game. It took me absolutely FOREVER to find the pack.mcmeta file as when I opened the Farmer's Delight file it just wouldn't show up. I would get assets and a whole bunch of other stuff but after using win.rar and doing a whole bunch of extracting (I don't fully understand myself - I followed multiple tutorials) the pack.mcmeta file finally showed up. There was a formatting issue and I edited it (with the help of a tutorial) and manually put the pack.mcmeta file into the Farmer's Delight folder. I finally got it to show up in Minecraft, albeit with a default cobblestone icon with "Farmer's Delight Resources" as the description instead of the actual mod (I assume). Better than nothing.
Now I'm trying to install Croptopia and having the exact same issue. My idiot self doesn't know what the heck I did to get Farmer's Delight to work. I think the issue stems from .jar files? But I'm using Mizuno's 16 Craft which worked just fine and I'm fairly sure that was a .jar file at first.
When I open the file for Mizuno's I get 4 things in the folder: assets (file folder), pack (PNG file), pack.mcmeta, and readme (text document). When I open the Croptopia file I get: .cache (file folder), assets (file folder), com (file folder), data (file folder), META-INF (file folder), resource packs (file folder), croptopia.accesswidener (accesswidener file), Croptopia.mixins.json, croptopia_v3.conf, Croptopia-refmap.json, fabric.mod.json.
When I try to install practically any other mod, it's basically the same file types, just with different names according to the mod (e.g sodium.accesswidener). I've been having this problem with the following mods: Farmer's Delight (works, as previously mentioned in this post, but I'm not sure if it's solved correctly), Sodium, Croptopia, and EpheroLib (needed for Croptopia to even work).
Am I installing mods correctly? I'm doing it the same way I did for Mizuno's 16 Craft and the Mizuno's CIT. Is it a file issue? I'm downloading from either CurseForge (making sure that I select the version for Fabric and 1.20.1) or if the mod has its own site I'm downloading it from there.

2024.05.20 20:09 Live-Swordfish-2207 How long to process my collection ?

Edit : solved
Hey ! I installed Kometa recently in Docker. Before that I used PMM. Now, everything seems fine, but the process to scan my librairies, apply overlays and update collections took a lot of time : 14 hours.
I removed the old overlays/collection folders I had from PMM, removed my "config.cache" file from Kometa and launched Kometa again. This time, it took 3 hours to finish.
It seems to me that it's a lot more time than before. I have 4 libraries :
Every library has custom overlays and collections. While I realise it's not a small collection, I saw bigger on this thread before. And the process was way more quick with PMM.
Any thoughts on that ?
Thanks !

2024.05.20 19:36 rhf323 Jellyfin on Ubuntu server help

Hey everyone. I’ve been trying to set up a Ubuntu server with jellyfin and ftp service for my home network and I am struggling. I’m fairly rusty when it comes to linux. My current set up is with is the server with 1os drive, 1 4tb media drive , and 2 1tb hard drives for general storage. Now I’ve gotten vsftpd working and I have managed to add files to the media drive with FileZilla but I can’t get jellyfin to scan the /media drive. I’m able to do the basic set up process on the browser and select the correct folders to scan but that’s about it. I feel like it might be a permissions issue but i am out of ideas at this point.

2024.05.20 17:47 BoffinBrain Suspicious "Chang Pian" folder added to Android after running DJI App

Suspicious
I downloaded the DJI Mimo app version 1.12.0 (227503) from DJI's own website. Using Android 14.
I've complained about their terrible software before (forcing you to make an account, forcing you to turn location on just to use the Pocket camera...) but now I've noticed that when I run the app, this folder called "Chang Pian" is added to the DCIM folder.
It's empty, but it will be recreated along with the DJI Export and DJI Album folders whenever I reopen the app. Specifically, the DJI Export and DJI Album folders are created as soon as you agree to the TOS, and Chang Pian is created as soon as the package file is unpacked and loaded.
Searching for the name "Chang Pian" online turns up nothing helpful, even when combining with search terms like DJI and Android. What's going on here?
I only use it to update the Pocket's internal clock, so I basically treat this app as hostile and prevent it from ever getting network access. Perhaps other users can check their device to see if they have anything in this folder.

2024.05.20 16:26 Humble_Percentage701 I passed. NI/AT/AT/AT

I passed. Passing on some lessons learned throughout the preparation.
Before I decided to take the CAPM, I obtained PSM1 a month ago, and before that, I took the CSM training. After PSM1, I explored more of my options, as it was already in my plan at the start of this year to add some skills to my profile. I was originally going into product management and bought a Udemy course months before familiarizing myself with the basics, but Scrum itself has fascinated me. That led me to discover the CAPM. The studying took me about 4 weeks.
I started studying a few days after I passed my PSM1. The studying took me about 4 weeks.
Here are the resources I’ve used:
FIRST WEEK
1: I printed the PMBOK Guide 7th Edition - I got this for free through a random search on Google. I didn’t much read all throughout it, just scanned it.
2: I Bought Joshua Phillips’ CAPM Prep Exam via Udemy, which I wasn’t able to maintain attention, his teaching style wasn’t sticking out to me. I got the course on sale at 12 USD
SECOND WEEK
I started memorizing the formulas during this time, as I’m not the best buddies with any sort of calculations. During work breaks, I searched some EVM quizzes and solved them but I think my maximum every day was 5 questions and my brain was done. I fell into a habit of writing the formulas twice or thrice a day on my small whiteboard and erasing them again to only write them again for three weeks and that made me memorize them in no time.
3: Decided to buy Andrew Ramayal’s CAPM Prep course and finished it, that’s how I got the hours needed to qualify for the CAPM exam. This dude is amazing, he’s engaging, however, I skipped some Agile sections as I was already solid in that area. I got the course on sale at 12 USD
4: Installed PocketPrep, in which the free version was the only one I utilized. I scored 81% on my last quick quiz.
THIRD WEEK
5: I purchased Peter Landini’s CAPM Mock Exams Kindle version via Amazon for 10 USD. Contrary to what most say, I wouldn’t say it’s the closest to the exam, but its style of delivering the question is somewhat similar. I started taking its Kindle version and practicing my mock exams there. First, I take 50 questions from Set 1, Set 2, Set 3. By the end of the third 5week, I started doing the 150 mock exams per day. The last exam I recorded was 123/150 82%
FOURTH WEEK
6: I read a lot of things here about the exam that were heavy on Business analysis, and I was genuinely at a loss in this area. I bought The BA Guide Business Analysis Modeling Skills & Techniques via Udemy, which Jeremy Aschenbrenner did a great foundation on the topic. I would like to note though that it’s not as comprehensive as I thought it would be, but it was a great addition to my learning materials.
I created a Google Slide where I put most of the diagrams expected from the BA section.
I’ve utilized YouTube for most off-course reviews:
EVM Formula
Critical Path Method
Critical Path Method and Dependencies
Ricardo Vargas PMBOK Guide 7th Edition in 10 Minutes
David Mclachlan’s 150 PMP Questions
For the record, I didn’t get ITTO’s questions, I didn’t get much BA questions. My exam was heavy on PM Fundamentals and Core Concepts. EVM formulas are 6-9 questions but some you can calculate mentally. I got questions I didn’t originally study, like DDSM stuff. Read the 7th Guide! I also personally think that AR TIA Exams are closest to the exam. A mixture of Landini and AR TIA.
I took it to a testing center. Arrived there an hour early, they did a rigorous check-up on me, making sure I didn’t have mobile devices attached, a watch, earphones. They’ll give you a folder white board and a marker, and the calculator is within the computer. I got 70 minutes left when I finished the exam, I flagged almost 20 questions combined from set 1 and set 2.
I was surprised I got Above Target with BA, because that’s the part where I was really missing a lot, and I was even more surprised I got Needs Improvement with Fundamentals and Core Concepts. The Predictive and Agile Frameworks were also Above Target.
I was hungry by the time I got out of the exam room, and now I’m suffering from a headache writing this down, but I’m glad it’s over!
I think I’ll do more reading with the fundamentals, man, the questions are tricky as hell. I’m planning to take the PMP a few months later, I’m going to rest my brain out from these months studying for CSM to PSM to CAPM.
I hope we all make it!

2024.05.20 15:48 IntelligentInsect773 Multi store setup: one big XML site map or individual ones?

I have a multi store set up that uses subfolders where I have individual stores for different regions. All of the sub folders use robots.txt from the root level.
Currently, I have separate XML site not files for each store. Each individual site map file contains URLs unique to that store.
Other stores that have a multiple store set up, it seems that they have one XML file that list all the URLs for all of their sub stores.
My first instinct is that this would create a url heavy sitemap file, and there would be too many URLs for the bots to sort through. But at the same time, does it forces the crawl bot to see every URL when crawling every store and I wasn't sure if this helps or if it doesn't really make any difference because since it's a subfolder set up, the crawl bot would scan any URL associated with any folder?

2024.05.20 11:41 New-Recognition-9414 How to Safely Recover WD External Hard Drive Data

How to Safely Recover WD External Hard Drive Data
Recover WD External Hard Drive Data
External hard drives are commonly used for storing private and confidential corporate data as well as backup files. Problems arise as a result of its widespread use. Many customers want to purchase good software to complete a WD external hard disk data recovery. BLR Tools introduces a fantastic piece of software.
Western Digital external hard drives are popular among consumers because of their ease, big data storage capacity, and fast data transfer speed. Despite all of the portable capabilities of external hard drives, you may be frustrated by the potential problems that can occur with WD hard drives, such as a WD external hard drive not working or a WD passport not recognizing Windows 10. As a result, the most pressing problem is how to perform a WD external hard drive data recovery.

Possible causes of data loss on external hard drives

In summary, your data may be lost from a WD external hard disk for the following reasons:
  • Unintentional file deletion or disk formatting.
  • Virus attack or invasion.
  • Corrupted file system
  • Broken computesystem
  • The partition table was damaged.
  • Unexpected power failure or surge.

True Example of Western Digital External Hard Drive Recovery

Is it possible to retrieve data from such a WD external hard drive? The answer is yes. If you choose the correct aid, recovering a WD external hard disk is simple.

WD External Hard Drive Data Recovery

BLR Data Recovery is one of the best WD data recovery software options for recovering data from an external hard drive safely. It is widely used and has a positive reputation.

What is BLR Data Recovery?

BLR Data Recovery can restore files from a variety of sources, including external hard disks. You can use this software to restore files in the following situations:
  • Important files are deleted accidentally from a WD external hard drive;
  • Crucial files are not visible on a WD external hard drive;
  • On your computer, a WD external hard drive shows as unknown.
  • A WD external hard disk does not show up on your PC.
  • A WD external hard drive stops operating,
This free file recovery program offers you a clean and secure data recovery environment. Your original data will be undamaged, so you can utilize it with confidence. In the following content, I'll walk you through the process of recovering data from a WD external hard drive.

How To Recover Data From A WD External Hard Drive

Step 1: Download and install BLR NAS Data Recovery on your PC.
Step 2: Connect your WD external hard drive to your computer and start the software. If you can't find the hard drive on the main interface, click the Refresh button to bring it up or reconnect the device.
Step 3: This step is optional. To maximize performance, go to the Scan Settings interface and choose specific categories of files or file systems before scanning. After making your changes, click OK to save them, and then return to the main interface.
Step 4: On this PC screen, you have two options:
Logical Drives: This section lists all of your computer's recognized partitions, including lost partitions, unallocated partitions, RAW partitions, and others. To scan and recover data, you can select a single partition.
Devices: The Devices tab displays a list of all devices that are connected to your computer. You can select to scan the entire device at once. Consequently, the scan time will be longer than scanning a partition.
Step 5: Wait for the scan to complete. On the result page, you'll see three folders: deleted files, lost files, and existing files. You can extend different paths to find the files you want.
Step 6: Checkmark the boxes in front of the files you require. After that, click the Save button and choose a suitable path to save these files.
Step 7: Click OK to start the recovery procedure.
When the process is finished, you can navigate to the specified location to check your files. If you need to recover data from a WD external hard drive on a Mac, Stellar Data Recovery for Mac is an excellent option.

Here are several ways you can fix the problem:

Method 1: Change the Drive Letter.
If your external hard drive lacks a drive letter, it will not be detected by the computer. You can assign it a new drive letter using Disk Management.
Step 1: Press Win + X to open the WinX menu and select Disk Management.
Step 2: Right-click the external hard disk.
Step 3: Select Change Drive Letter and Paths from the context menu.
Step 4: To assign a drive letter to the drive, click the Add button, then click OK to save the changes.
Then, check to see if the drive displays in File Explorer.
Method 2: Update or Reinstall the Driver
The problem could be caused by an incompatible driver. You can try updating the related driver to see if that solves the issue.
Step 1: To open Device Manager, press Win + S and type it into the search box.
Step 2: Press Enter to bring up the window.
Step 3: Expand the Disk Drives section and right-click the external hard drive.
Step 4: Select Update Driver and Automatically Search for Drivers.
Method 3: Run the Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter.
You can also use the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter to diagnose and resolve hardware issues on your computer. This utility can help you fix the WD external hard drive not showing up.
Step 1: To open the Run window, press Win + R.
Step 2: Type cmd and press Enter to launch Command Prompt.
Step 3: To access the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter, run msdt.exe -id Device Diagnostic and press Enter.

Last Words

External hard drives are widely acknowledged to be portable in numerous ways. You may also choose to store big volumes of vital data on the WD external hard drive without regard for data loss. Errors may arise for a variety of causes, with no indication on your external hard disk. If you don't have backups, you should use professional data recovery software, such as BLR Tools Power Data Recovery.

2024.05.20 07:33 trikats Bitdefender is frustrating. Regret purchasing this garbage.

Had BitDefender for 3 weeks...
Today BitDefender randomly decided y-cruncher exe was malware when I ran a manual quick scan. There is no way to set the program to ask what the user wants to do... It just auto deletes, quarantine, etc. Other AVs allow user choices...
Had to manually jump thru multiple menus to find the restore button and it auto set the file to the exclusion list.
However BitDefender locks the file and prevents the user from deleting it. So I ran BitDefender file shredder on the folder and BitDefender says it cannot remove the y-cruncher exe file. So I removed the exclusion and BitDefender detect the threat again. Then I had to jump thru multiple menus to find the delete button.
Absolutely stupid that restoring the file locks the file and prevents anybody from deleting it, even file shredder. Only way to delete is via the delete file button in BitDefender's terrible software.
I severely regret purchasing this piece of garbage AV.
Odd design choices, frustrating user experience, and default settings that allow pop up ads / annoying notifications... Should've stayed with Malwarebytes.

2024.05.20 07:17 Saved_by_Grac3 Questions from a Brookshires/walgreens conversion-ee(?)

Hi y’all! I want to say thank you and sorry in advance! Thank you for any responses and sorry because I’m a rambler 😭. Like the title says I’m one of the brookshires/walgreens conversion-ees and a recent cashier turned tech-trainee. I’m doing a lot of stuff I wasn’t able to before and I have a million questions. But I’ll just bother y’all with some that are a bit more pressing.
• How do I do a refund? I know this one is a little more nuanced. I’ve read I can either do a SDL or Retro Billing. And I’ve also read I only have 7 days from the date sold to do this, please let me know if that’s true, high key stressin’. In this particular situation there was a miscommunication between the person at the register and patient, who then got a notification from their bank that they were charged a larger amount a couple hours later. I was looking at the medication and price and turns out it was not even run on insurance. If the med was a C2 does it make a difference on whether we can refund or anything? I’ve also read that post void isn’t an option if the transaction was earlier in the day before three? But it’s already been a day since so I don’t think we could post void.
•How to scan in the POD receipts? I didn’t get a chance to scan one in when the trainers were there. And I haven’t had to do that yet but I see the folder where we file them and get a little light bulb to ask when a chance arises. And then I forget to because of the chaos T.T
•What is the usual procedure for deliveries? Is it different depending on service? Like UbeDoorDash? I have not done one of these either but we’ve had a total of 2 deliveries and I was only there for one. I think it was DoorDash? And they scanned the bag and we printed a receipt? I was tending drive thru so I only got bits and pieces. I heard the second was Uber and they didn’t need to scan anything and no receipt.
•Any advice, tips or tricks about anything in the pharmacy would be much appreciated! Or anything you think a tech-in-training should know or would help to know!
TIA 🕺🤙
