Editing your registry only disables it. I really dislike having to "disable" features when I can uninstall them because Windows has a tendency to re-enable features I don't like.

I have a current build that needs the core parts upgrading.
I've currently an intel i7-6700k Asus max formula 7 corsair rm850 Tuf 4070 Samsung 990 LG 4k 48" monitotv
I'm a team blue fan although I'm not against a AMD system. I've had my eyes sat on a i5-13600kf but every motherboard I come across when wanting support for ddr5 and PCIE 5, hit the £400+ range.
I'm wanting to add a Lian-Li o11d evo rgb case into the mix. As I think their cases are gorgeous. So I'll be keeping the 4070, P Supply unless a new one is needed.
What would you recommend for gaming / light video editing. The PC will mainly be for gaming.
My budget Is about £1000 maybe £1300.

Hello, reddit. I'm going for a 4K PC gaming build and I have a doubt. I would like to buy a 2Tb SSD, for example the WD SN850X. At this moment, I could buy it at 163€ the one without heatsink and 177€ the one with heatsink. A difference of 14€ is nothing, but... do I need the heatsink?
The MOBO is a MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk WiFi, the GPU a 4080 Super, Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU, Thermalright PS 120 SE the CPU cooler, Fractal Design Torrent the case.
I'm not an expert of those topics so you help and explainations mean a lot.

I was looking at why gen alpha seems to be even worse than kids in general. I want to work in animation and I was thinking about what they watch but then it got concearning that they weren’t so much watching TV or scripted shows but on social media and watching content farms. At first I was concerned about the fact that they barely even have the attention span for tv shows like Big City Greens and Bluey instead being dumped in front of horrifying content farms and even addictive stuff like c—melon.
Then it went a little deeper when I saw videos of teachers talking about how their regular kids(like kids without disabilities) are struggling below grade level and this is like 6th grade students having almost no attention spans and having reading levels and learning levels far below like 3rd grade levels, and not knowing certain basics There was even a video that mentioned how even sped kids despite their disadvantage had higher reading levels than normal kids. And the normal kids seemed not to even be trying to better themselves.
Then I learned about the Sephora girls and how they are straight up menaces to other people and demand skincare that isn’t designed for their age group and can damage them(instead of getting age appropriate skincare). I learned about the horrible Sephora moms enabling this with instagrams
Then I learned about young boys(like 6-9 year olds) accessing extremely sexist streamers and a pretty notorious rapist and trafficker named “quagmire” Tate who was just arrested for sex trafficking influencing young minds to regress regarding equality and no means no etc. I then saw more teachers saying how toxic kids are becoming and they seem to have no real life goals other than being influencers. And then quitting because of such flagrant behavior.
I was confused by all of this like it seemed like the parents weren’t even trying to teach the kids basics like how letters are pronounced, how to tie shoes, not to steal the cookie, etc. this continued to be hard to understand like it didn’t make sense. Like these problems used to be a very small minority like not everyone is like this but now it seemed that not “everyones kids are bad” while still a fair amount seemed even smaller compared to to it seems like the kids who were never taught seemed to increase.
Then when I saw one video which talked about the Sephora kids she brought up a TikTok talking about why gen alpha ended up so bad and the video brought up the accessory baby trend of the 2010s that really blew up around that time. I then watched the TikTok and that’s when it clicked. The kids who were born then are the same that are gen alpha. I remembered that on YouTube and other sites was filled with teens who were excited about having a baby and belly progressions etc.
it made total sense why gen alpha is horribly underprepared because many of these kids were(and are) the accessory babies born in the 2010s that were born to a large minority of(a lot of) teenagers who wanted to showcase their cute baby as if they were a furby accessory trying to copy the celebrity (spesficially the kardashians and Kyle Jenner) accessory baby trend which resulted in the aesthetic of parenting and having a cute baby without any of the actual work needed to raise a baby to a functioning human being with good literacy skills, a reasonable education and basically becoming a functioning person.
Oh and teen mom the tv show(which despite showing some of the darker sides and contributing to a decline in teen pregnancy’s some dumb kids still took inspiration) . It’s made even worse because now TikTok and instagram reels glorifying pregnancy at young(like teenage) ages for aesthetics even if said person was not ready or willing to handle responsibly raising a future adult and showing none of the true consequences and sorrow that comes with ruining your and a future humans life, instead being filled with instagram photos of cute mommy and baby in matching outfits on highly staged photos with no hint on how difficult it is to raise a human being.
Anyway The baby was never supposed to grow up as a person and become a functioning human being but to be a silent being with no thoughts of it’s own to dress up and show off to instagram and Pinterest. Essentially a doll. However when that baby started to grow up into their own person and becoming a human being because as it turns out baby’s grow up to be a functioning adult. The parents has no desire to be a parent and does not know how to raise a functioning human so they dumped them in front of iPads in order to get them out of the way and basically negelect them. The consequence is that now we have an entire generation of kids who have not been taught basic lessons and how to be a functioning person.
It even affects the kids who weren’t accessory babies and are being raised by people who actually want to see their child succeed in life , because the peer pressure to act more mature than before has ramped up significantly as the moms of the accessory babies shunned kid appropriate outfits and acting their age and stuff because they wanted the babies to be dressed up in adult fashions for instagram photo ops and have engrained that acting like a kid is stupid and that they go from accessory Baby to hot young adult with no inbetween in their minds which warps them to act like an “adult” when way too young. It’s essentially the traditional 10 year old wants to act older but warped far beyond what it used to be and if a kid simply acts like their age group they are often picked on by accessory baby bullies which means that a lot of kids are now under peer pressure to grow up way too fast because the accessory kids that dominate the school and act like monsters towards everyone else.
It’s because they were never taught how to be a good Person. And it’s because of the parents who wanted accessory babies for instagram rather than raising a human. Like it’s the 30 year mellenials who take their kids only to instagramamble play areas, dressing them up for photo shoots every week in new clothes, going on instagramamble vacations and even having another baby only for clicks.
This is the reality of the situation we are seeing the consequences of this in real time. The kids were never taught how to be a person and because of that they have almost no manners and learned all their lessons from toxic influencers and or consumerist influencers. It’s because the parents neglect them instead of providing moral lessons on how to be a good person, teaching them right from wrong, or even providing them good tv shows like BCG, and bluey instead dumping them in front of iPad content farms that rot their attention spans without any moderation causing them to have no imagination and tech addictions and then for the boys watching toxic influencers like Andrew quagmire tate and his merry band of Herbert the perverts(it’s a family guy reference). And for the girls being brainwashed into acting like adults and buying skincare that burns their skin instead of age appropate skin care.
This is scary because they are our next doctors, artists, writers, musicians, librarians, mechanic, firefighters, plumbers, etc. and they end up with social media addicitions and have shockingly short attention spans thanks to overstimulating YouTube shorts and they were never taught how to be a successful person who thrives in society all because they were treated as disposable photo props to get more IG likes.
To be clear not every parent is like this and there are many parents trying to raise their kids good and teaching them to be a good person but it is concearning how the accessory babies are now being turned into monsters at shockingly young ages. I really hope people wake up and realize that this is a problem and how we need to educate kids and prevent toxic Tate influences on boys And toxic trends on girls. We need to let kids learn positive values and teach the, about diversity and how to be a good person and helping other people and doing good things and working hard to achieve whatever goals they want.
We need to fix this and help prepare kids to be a functioning good adults so that they can succeed. It’s a whole mess that we need to do better with our next generation of people because we need to stop treating kids like they are just instagram photos and they aren’t babies with on and off switches but babies that grow to toddler then kid tween teen until they become an adult who should be able to do basic functions in society.
I am legit concerned about the next generation and them being addicted to content farms rather than quality shows with educational and entertainment value and not being taught basic morals like don’t steal the cookie, everyone is equal, clean up after yourself, don’t rudely interrupt other people. or even helping them get to grade level reading and stuff(and I’m not counting kids with disabilities, like autistic and adhd kids) to function in society. like I literally heard that sped kids with disabilities and autism etc are literally doing higher reading levels than regular kids because a lot of the regular kids were never taught. It’s legit concerning.
*it should also be mentioned that this seems to mostly happen with really really young parents 9/10 times as most kids who were conceived by parents at older ages(30 something when they had kids) don’t seem to have this problem(or very rarely)
*we also need to have a village to help raise these kids to become better people. Like social society helps them because kids still need to be taken care of even if it’s overworked parents. I think we need actual free regulated child care and school is something that needs to be encouraged. We need to have people who actively help the kids grow with social time and we need to actually help kids grow and become good people. Maybe more social systems can help too.

I have been using my current PC for about 4 years, and I have been setting money aside for an upgrade for about a year, my budget is 4K, but there's always some wiggle room. I mostly use my PC for video games, but I do video editing work with it as well. My only main concern is my CPU, I was considering the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D, instead of the Ryzen 7 7800X3D that I am using.
Should I stick with the Ryzen 7? Go for the 9? Something else, or other ideas? Please lmk!

Hi there, I’ll try to keep it short but informative.. (sorry for formatting, on mobile)
I am looking to buy a new keyboard, I currently have the Corsair K100, but it’s quite large and I’m looking for something a little smaller. I’ve settled on 75% and I really like the ones with the knob.
Needs: - 75% (or arrow keys and an F row) - Knob - Hot swappable (I’m indecisive) - Gaming latency
Wants: - Metal frame - All black keycaps that have light passthrough for the letters or readily available keycaps that aren’t ugly gray - LED software (I use white most of the time but I occasionally change it and I want specific colors)

• I don’t care about wireless, I’ll run wired 98% of the time, but it is a nice bonus.

Hello folks,
Please bear with me as I go into depth. Would appreciate any advise you have for me and any directions I should take. So initially my PC had a 1TB HDD which also included the OS. Recently, I had been experiencing instances where my PC would freeze and then resume after a few seconds and then things would load slowly. Then came a point where the PC froze and did not resume. I tried restarting and then it would load until the windows loading screen and would keep loading and never go past that. I was told that the HDD was likely busted so today I got a new HDD 500 GB (I cant afford much an SSD at this point) and I'm using that as the HDD for my windows only.
I installed everything and then I plugged in my old HDD with the new one still plugged in. When it was just the new HDD that I had, boot time was pretty fast but once I added the old HDD it took at least 10 minutes to boot (if not more time). The PC just kept loading in bios and then after 10-15 mins it booted to the home screen (after the usual windows lock screen and all).
I'm guessing my old HDD is dying as they say. I was wondering if there is anything I can do to prevent that and see if I could give my old HDD more life.
Edit: Forgot to mention, once the PC booted with the new and old HDDs, things are working smooth although it does take a while for the files to load once a folder is opened. Like a few seconds.

I submitted my applications in March with an LSAT score of 157 and only got accepted by Southwestern University and Roger Williams with scholarship offers from both. From what I’ve heard about these two schools, going to either sounds like a huge waste of time and money. I’m currently waitlisted on UC Davis and Sturm College, but judging from other posts on here it seems unlikely that I’ll get off the waitlist for either.
What should I do? I put in a lot of effort raising my LSAT score from a 148 to a 157 but clearly that was never going to be enough if I want to get into a serious law school. I don’t know by how many points I could realistically expect to raise my score by if I took the test a third time, so the thought of losing another year to retake/reapply is disheartening. Should I retake even if it means only raising my score by 1 or 2 points? Should I go to one of these low ranking schools and try to focus on getting high grades? Or should I be looking for a different career path? I’m not what you would call passionate about law, but I don’t know what else I would be good at since I have no other skills or connections to start a different career path.

Those are my current specs + a 980ti which isn't on the list for some reason. I can still get ultra settings at 1440p for most games I've played recently but anything released in recent years struggles. I mostly play older games to put off the upgrade but the time has come
I upgraded the RAM from 8gb which the PC came with to 24gb which it has now and I installed another SSD, that's the extent of my PC building experience but I'm confident with it
Not looking for the absolute best but something that will run Warhammer 3 at 4k with at least decent specs would be nice, what should I change ?
I'd like to get it done for no more than around £800 if that's possible but maybe it isn't

Hey there SSFPC,
I made a post earlier last week about converting my ATX PC to a smaller form factor, whilst I would love to keep most of my PC in something like the N-ATX V2, it seems like I cannot acquire one for love or money.
Instead I think I will bite the cost bullet and convert my build to ITX, and I am looking at two cases. Either the budget build (~£200 to convert) in the SilverStone SG13, or splash out and build in the beautiful Fractal Terra (~£500 to convert).
The question I need answered though is has anyone built with an ATX power supply in the SG13? This only really works as a budget build if I can keep my original power supply (Otherwise replacement SFF PSUs seem to run around £150!)

All advice appreciated, or if you see any obvious flaws with either of these builds, please let me know!

I'm new to Minecraft and need some help with buying/playing this on different platforms.
I just bought the Deluxe PC version (bedrock + java). I want to get a license for Nintendo Switch too to sometimes play multiplayer across the two platforms, and sometimes just to be able to play singleplayer on the go. Is there any point to buying the Deluxe version on Switch too or just the Standard?
I guess what I'm unsure about is if the bonuses like the minecoins and skins etc from the Switch version will get lumped in on the same Minecraft/Microsoft account (where I already bought Deluxe), or can I re-register the Switch version to another MS account later and carry those with me?
I think my main use case will be to play solo across platforms using my main Minecraft/MS account, but occasionally will look to play with a buddy too with the two licenses. I understand only one Minecraft/MS account can be logged in at a time, but am unsure if I sign in on the Switch as a different Minecraft account, if the Deluxe edition bonuses would somehow transfer there, or will they be a waste?
(I'm sorry if this sounds like a rambly confusing mess, but I'm pretty confused rn! I've searched here and Google but couldn't really find a good answer.)
Edit: In the end, I guess I'm wondering if I'm way off base here, and/or if it's worth the $5 to buy the Deluxe edition on Switch instead of Standard.

I'm preparing to start running a CoS: Reloaded campaign within the next few weeks and I have a few logistical questions about the module. For context my DMing experience so far is only Lost Mine of Phandelver and a one shot I ran to try to get more of my friends into D&D.
First is character creation. Is there any guidance for how to have players create their characters outside of just the flaws, bonds, and motivations? Anything to be aware of with PC races and classes? I know the module as written advises to keep races mostly human, but that feels needless to me. Right now I have 3 players who can commit the time to a regular campaign, with an additional one who might join after the summer. Is 3 enough? I know there are balance notes that go down to 3 players but in terms of party composition I'm afraid they won't have a good spread, especially since a lot of loot in the module is tailored to certain classes.
Should I read the entire guide before starting the campaign? It's still a work in progress so I don't know if there's value in reading the whole thing but I do always find myself missing context as a DM and I'm afraid I might misplay something for my players and worsen their experience. I did read the whole vanilla module already but I can't imagine trying to run it out of the book alone.
Are earlier parts of the campaign going to be rewritten much? I'm a little afraid to start it because in most of DragnaCarta's updates he usually says he plans on going back and editing earlier arcs in the next update and he also advises not to modify the guide much as you never know which details might be load bearing.
How do I even prepare this? Am I mostly expected to run the game by reading along with the website or do people have different methods to run it?
As a DM I feel like I need a lot more guidance with logistics and game mechanics than with in-game storytelling stuff, but that's usually the stuff that's left out of DM guides.
Anyway, I know it's a lot of questions but I would appreciate any advice. I'm getting really excited to run the campaign but have been a bit overwhelmed by the amount that is on me to prepare for.

Im looking to get a new laptop and have been thinking of getting a Mac.
I’m in need of a laptop for primarily business work online. This includes editing videos like reels for social media, editing images for thumbnails, setting up e commerce stores, possibly using AI to help and AI tools, editing my website.
I have never owned a Mac before, and I’ve done some research into the PC vs Mac debate.
The biggest problem I’m seeing that everyone says is the 8GB RAM problem with some of the Mac’s.
I’ve taken a look at some MacBook Air’s and MacBook Pro’s.
Is there a Mac that has more than 8GB RAM at base level (not needing to pay extra to bump it up)? Such as one starting with 16GB RAM?
And what Mac’s would you recommend for me in general based on what I’ve said? If you have any more questions feel free to ask. Like I’m hoping to spend around £1,000 or if there is a better laptop that’s not a Mac what would you recommend and why?
