2024.05.21 17:35 FerrymanOfNight [Re-Intro] Micah Di Santis - Never challenge Death to a pillow fight!
The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.
― Mark Twain
general information | additional information |
---|---|
name: Micah Di Santis | preferred name: Myka, Mike |
d.o.b.: 10 June 20XX | age: 16 |
nationality: Sicilian | hometown: Sicily, Italy |
gender identity: cis-male | gender expression: male |
sexual orientation: Undecided | preferred pronouns: he / him / his |
relation | name/s | age | relationship |
---|---|---|---|
divine parent | Charon, The Ferryman | old | Micah still has no idea what to think about his dad. Speaking with him during the visit to Olympus did nothing to clear things up. The man, or was it immortal, was blunt and yet, his son's opinion of him was still up in the air, though leaning more to the positive side. At least Micah has the connections to get himself an admittedly fantastic tailored suit. |
mortal parent | ??? | ??? | Micah has no idea who his biological mother is. The only reason he knew who his father was before he came to camp was because the spirits told him. |
mortal adoptive parent | Maria Di Santis | 32 years old | If Marco was a saint then Maria was a saintess through and through. Everything she did, she did with someone else in mind. From the day she adopted Micah to the moment Marco died, Micah did not see her cry for herself at all. She'd cry when a little boy got hurt and would offer help or cry when she saw a cat get kicked by some drunk douchebag. |
mortal adoptive parent | Vincino (Vinny) Bertelli | 37 years old | Vincino is an absurdly rich man who was born and raised in Sicily. He found Maira through her singing on the side of the road to raise money for Micah's trip to the US. He offered to take her in because he liked her and sponsored Micah's trip by giving him some money and a ticket onto a transatlantic cruise ship headed to New York City. All things considered, he's a kind and considerate man who loves Maria. |
adoptive brother | Marco Di Santis | Marco Di Santis was a saint. Ever since he learned the word 'kindness', he was absorbed and defined by it. He loved seeing the smiles bloom on people's faces when he shared some bread or helped them with something but what he truly loved more than anything else was sailing and playing the piano. He was handsome beyond reason, having pale blonde hair and clear blue eyes, though he never had a chance to grow into it fully. | |
dead guy | Chris | Like Marco, Chris is one big ball of sunshine. The only difference is he's a ghost. Micah met Chris on the cruise he stowed away on to get to the US and the ghost promptly joined him, though reluctantly because he was watching over his parents and little brother, due to finding him interesting. Like Marco, Chris is handsome though he had more time to grow into his looks. Framed by golden hair and chocolate brown eyes, Micah wouldn't have doubted it if the boy was very popular during his living days. | |
friend | Willow 'Will' Crest | 16 years old | One of the more laid-back campers Micah had met, Willow became something of a friend to the son of Charon, though they started off more as discussion partners than anything else. And besides, being chill-buddies is pretty fun on its own. Who knows where things can go from there? |
friend | Rachel 'Rocky' Williams | 17 years old | Rocky was one of the first people Micah met upon arriving at camp and her enthusiasm, uncharacteristic for a child of a chthonic god, immediately made her stand out. Though he genuinely has no idea what goes through Rocky's head, Micah considers them close, and okay, maybe he has a minuscule crush on her. |
friend/former cabin-mate | Ramona Herrera | 16 years old | Being another camper who met Micah's criteria for friendship (i.e. Be chill and relax), Ramona is someone who Micah doesn't know too much about. Much like Kit, who Micah has seen around camp and the Hermes Cabin, she is a mystery to him. Though he does enjoy trying to spot which corner she's hiding in at any given camp gathering. |
acquaintance (?) | Mathew Knight | 15 years old | Matt is, as far as friendship is concerned, a work-in-progress. Micah's father had recommended getting to know the son of Hades and though he'd lost himself in school shortly after, Micah had made introductions. |

godrent domain powers:a) Dead Communication; Ever since his close brush with death, Micah's powers surged. His father's connection to spirits and those who have died became his and as such he can now see and communicate with the spirits of the dead. They have been his only source of information on his father. He likes to build a network of spirits whenever he goes somewhere new so he can gather information as fast as possible.
godrent minor powers:a) River Step\;* The connection with the River Styx flows through Micah's veins as much as it does through his father's. The ability this connection granted him was the ability to walk on water, as long as there is no significant shift to the water, such as large waves.
godrent major powers:a) Major Watercraft Manipulation\;* Being known as the Ferryman of the Dead, it only makes sense for Charon, and Micah by extension, to have dominion over watercraft. Micah's control over watercraft was one of the first powers he discovered and the power that is most intertwined with him in his entirety. He has inherited the ability to gain absolute control over any and all watercraft down to the rigging and ropes.
skillsetOver the years, Micah has picked up a good variety of skills, including fishing and rope work. Still, there have been a great many learning experiences for the boy on the streets of Sicily. Free running came as a given to any child of below-average means in Sicily but Micah was significantly worse than most thanks to a leg injury he got at the age of thirteen. Drawing was the only real luxury he had during his time when he wasn't working. A young lady from a carnival that was passing through taught him how to use throwing knives after he helped her find her way around the city. He learned ballet by watching, sitting for hours outside a studio every day for weeks until he'd gotten good enough to practice independently, which led to his interest in gymnastics. One of the older neighborhood boys took to teaching Micah, his brother, and the other kids how to read and write in English. Micah's adoptive mother insisted on teaching him how to speak English from a young age. Now, he can speak English with a barely noticeable Sicilian accent.
2024.05.21 17:34 ilovassndtits Hot take (but it's factual): Yuji isn't even top 17 in verse (yes even awakened Yuji)
Yujis one of those extremely wanked characters. He can't use BM and his cleave is literally shit (even tho he had it for sometime after his awakening) he still hasn't used it cuz it's so shit. Secondly he doesn't have a domain expansion and his simple domain is so bad it broke against MS and he almost died against MS. He only survived fuuga because of choso (asspull). His physicals are overrated too seeing how's he's slower than the likes of hakari maki or base kashimo. His rct is trash and choso had to babysit him mid battle by teaching him rct and giving convergence. submitted by ilovassndtits to JujutsuPowerScaling [link] [comments] The only reason he performs good against sukuna is because he's resistant to sukunas ce and CT because they have same technique. And also because sukuna doesn't want to kill Yuji nd gives Yuji more leeway than other sorcerers. His black flashes are also based on luck and he's only hitting them consistently when he's in the zone seeing how he didn't do a black flash for the past 3 chapters after the domain. And his black flashes aren't that strong either they didn't do much damage to sukuna. He doesn't really have any other redeeming qualities either that makes him stand out. His durability is pretty mediocore (he almost died from a punch from 15f meguna). Almost died from 10 percent output dismantles. He even needed ino to babysit him in 257 to have a chance against a massively nerfed sukuna. Overall I don't understand how people compare him to the likes of kashimo hakari maki yuta. Everyone here speed blitzes him. Maki and yuta cuts his head off before he can react. He doesn't have enough ap to do damage to hakari and hakari will just kill him easily with his punches. Base kashimo will one shot Yuji with lightning and Yuji physically cant touch him. Yuji is more comparable to grade 1s than actual top tiers like hakari maki kashimo or yuta. The strongest character I can see him have a chance against is hanami (since we haven't seen her domain) and dagon. But the again he lowkey loses to them cuz of his Walmart simple domain. |

2024.05.21 17:01 WhiteHawkeReborn "What is your Headcanon about this?" Day 49: Jo'on Yorigami
Day guide submitted by WhiteHawkeReborn to touhou [link] [comments] Welcome to Day 49 of WiyHat?. Today's topic is Jo'on Yorigami, "The Most-Despicable and Disastrous Younger Twin Sister". Jo'on Yorigami as depicted in Touhou 15.5: Antinomy of Common Flowers Jo'on Yorigami is one of the final bosses of Touhou 15.5: Antinomy of Common Flowers (AoCF). Originally, she was actually supposed to be the "only" final boss and would have been assisted with an Urban Legend "made manifest in humanoid form" as part of the "Perfect Possession" gimmick the game had. However, as the game's development progressed, her twin sister Shion was made instead to fill that role (presumably, the Urban Legend was planned to go out of control once Jo'on was beaten for "real" by Yukari, prompting the "Berserk Shion" segment that was probably meant to happen from the very beginning. Also, would have probably been used as an excuse for Jo'on's behavior beforehand, making her much nicer after having lost said Urban Legend.). ...actually, speaking of Urban Legends, Jo'on was technically given a preview presence in TH14.5: Urban Legend in Limbo. Specifically, she was referenced through Reisen's story mode...which was exclusive to the PS4 version of the game. Oops. Well, besides introducing us to an early preview of the next game's "plot", a lot of people deem Reisen's story to be half-canon at best (although I imagine this is because of the exclusivity issue). Regardless, Jo'on's ability differs a bit from her sister's: instead of forcing misfortune and poverty unto others, she forces people to constantly "consume financial assets". Much like Shion, Jo'on's actually subject to her own ability, and constantly spends her money too. The difference between her and Shion is that she actually keeps making money back despite spending it, because her ability ensures she can always spend money. Think of it as if you went to a casino, and played for an hour in the slots. You lost big in the first 30 minutes, then won it all back in the second, making you break even. Jo'on's ability is like that, except you can't stop playing until you're outside of her sphere of influence (better do so after getting your money back...). Anyway. this ability of Jo'on is basically her and Shion's entire lifestyle up until 15.5 where their plan was to...well, it was just to rob a bunch of people. It had the inadvertent effect of releasing "Dream Souls" though, which the sisters did not plan for. After successfully tricking numerous duos, eventually Yukari foils their plan, forces them to deal with the remnant Dream Souls, and then Jo'on is sent to Myouren Temple for "rehabilitation". Without her twin sister, no less. What did Byakuren do with Jo'on...? Honestly, it's not clear. She ended up nicer, I suppose, but both sisters are back together and at it again in 17.5: Sunken Fossil World. There, they try to strike it rich by getting the black watepetroleum for themselves...until they find out what it's made of, then they call it quits and do a tourism "scam" during Yuuma's route. Details about that are for when I get to Yuuma...eventually. And that's all for Jo'on's game appearances, much like Shion. And again much like Shion, she gets one appearance in the printworks!...it's not quite as notable as Shion's though. Essentially, in Curiosities of Lotus Asia Chapter 32, Jo'on possesses Sumireko, forces her to spend more than needed...and then makes Rinnosuke and Reimu buy things they don't need. That's it. Jo'on's arc is...kind of confusing, to say the least. Unlike Shion, who's shown some growth and has a new friend to look up to, she's seemingly stuck in a "Dick Dastardly"-state where she always goes back to her shtick of making money to spend money. This isn't to say she has no growth (she only robs the rich and is nicer to her sister now), but a lot of people don't care much for her style, although some are big fans, either because she's entertaining, or something else that escapes me. Ah, right, the fans. What do they think of Jo'on? Well, not nearly as much as they do for Shion I'm afraid. She's 76th in 2023, which is drastically lower than Shion's 32nd. It's not too bad, but...well, I've gone over my reasons why I believe that is the case yesterday. Still, to sum it up again, Shion's a moeblob with a defeatist attitude that makes people want to help her, while Jo'on feels like an incorrigible selfish villain with very unorthodox looks (that don't make her look as pretty as most characters, to some people)...and fans mostly prefer the former. Some diehard fans of Jo'on will claim to high heaven that she's much better and more fascinating than Shion though...maybe some of them are just being contrarians and hating on Shion... Anyway, what about you? Do you have a headcanon about Jo'on? If so, vote or comment below all about it. Jo'on Yorigami is... View Poll |
