I've been really curious how other people experience this dilemma. The game currently offers a huge variety in terms of classes and specializations. There's classes that require a lot of skill and there's classes that require less skill to be efficient in Player vs. Player content.
The classes I currently play are generally quite difficult to master. And it's safe to say I've not mastered them. I follow the rotation, but it'll take me a long time to really master that rotation. So I'm investing time in playing this specialization, to master it and make it my own.
On the flipside, you have classes that do a huge amount of damage with very little skill. Have, for example, no rotation or simply consist of roughly 4-5 offensive cooldown. They will even outdamage my class/spec if I did my rotation perfectly.
What makes it so that people don't just drop their difficult, hard to master classes and swap over to something much easier, because it outperforms the class 9 times out of 10 anyway?
(P.S. You may have noticed that I've not mentioned which classes are classified as easy or hard. That's because the WoW community can be ticklish and I really have no intention of stepping on anyone's toes).

The first thing I found strange in my first SC day years ago was the top speed limits. I never got it, even when I understand how important numbers and certain limits are for game balance. The only speed factor to matter should be acceleration; the human body marks the limit and, even when various sci-fi universes took different paths to break those limits in a certain level, that's where the roof should be settled, but nowhere else.
Human beings are theoretically capable of reaching a close to light speed as long as the movement is constant enough and the only true problem would be space dust and debris tearing ships apart. If we are taking care of that with shields or quantum bubbles, I don't see why we can't be doing slingshots or larger travels just with our thrusters, limited only by acceleration. It would be slower than quantum travel as it's exponential but doable in times of need for certain distances or for the sake of fun and glory.
Except for the gaming limits, we don't want people to become the ultimate space deadly bullets at untraceable speeds and other sorts of crazy scenarios.
So don't worry, I'm not here to beg for all that to be changed, even when I would love to be able to travel just by inertia with dosed little bursts, same as I'd love objects not stopping just because of distance, ballistics ceasing to exist after a few km or how much I'd love to be able to truly orbit around celestial bodies to leave my ship going around by itself while I contemplate a sunset and a sunrise every 60 seconds through my windshields like living a dream.
We all know how harmful those scenarios could be for a multiplayer environment and a few arguments can be made up with a tolerable but stretched logic just for the sake of keeping the fun going safely without breaking the entire game and a few GPU.
But now Master Modes has come to stay to balance certain aspects of the game and collaterally so many snubs are locked down to ridiculous speeds while their $ prices are still the same, prices often higher than some regular fully useful and rewarding ships with quantum capabilities. These snubs had their value raised due to their performance, their utility and their small size for versatility, they weren't meant to quantum jump but neither to be capped like this.
Now you'll have to struggle to make a place for ships like the Fury LX, heavily marketed to be close to useless in less than 1 year of existence, breaking so many promises to become nothing but a LTI token for some people.
I know it has been discussed even by the developers about giving them some sort of short quantum limited capabilities, I'm not getting there as I don't even know where those components could be stocked in most of them tiny vessels without remaking the whole game again out of work pain.
I bet you'll find something to equilibrate everything, because you always do it so amazingly, but the whole point of this free detour is why in this universe have finally manifested the midichlorians to, instead of giving power to certain hooded figures with light sticks to bring order to the galaxy, they've decided to use their time braking ships out of sorcery?! I can get that you don't want us flying in EVA as fast as the Silver Surfer just using inertia, but why would I reach the limited speed with my ship's thrusters to then be dangerously stopped close to death, stopped by the same g-forces you refuse to give us in other axis, stopped by an invisible force out in space without any matter in my way just because I've released the boost button?!
If we are not in any atmosphere, let the ship keep going while losing maneuverability. There is not a single reasonable gist you can make there to justify that utterly illogical braking out of nowhere.
For ships combat, going above SCM should just penalize with a lack of ship control, up to their skills and strategy. Anybody going that fast will be out of the ideal speeds, useful just to try an escape right before jumping into NAV mode but exposed to enemy fire in a more predictable trajectory. That would require some control and calm to master combat as well as other game loops like racing, lovely. Then at least it won't be a magic brake, non quantum ships would be able to have some margin while you decide their future, not needing more than 1 hour to travel from ground to station orbit, sticking the boost button to the max every minute to see how the ship brakes by divine forces every time it's released to then start it all again in an infinite loop.
I love that science meets fun in the midway to find some equilibrium getting the best of both worlds but lately it is hard to cope with the levels of fantasy being added to an originally meant to be hardcore sci-fi game just to make it good enough for everyone, but this one has me laughing so hard every time I use SCM. Bring more science back.

Planned dates weeks ahead of time, kept notes about all my likes/dislikes for food, flowers, etc., always opened my door and carried my bags, and was almost frustratingly uncomfortable with me spending money on him. I think the most I was able to spend was $40 on his Christmas gift. Otherwise an easy dinner once in a while, and handmade gifts from me for other important days. Flowers, dinner, and thoughtful (purchased) gifts were common from him.
He was also incredibly sensitive and—well, once I would have said sincere. I think of times that he cried just from missing me when I had to head home after a weekend together, or from telling me he loves me. Or him calming me down when I was stressed with finals (I'm getting my master's and work full time). I admit it took me a while to let my guard down, but I felt truly loved and supported in a way no other man has ever made me feel.
Except when he was angry. I saw his anger early on, directed to things like traffic or coworkers (though he was never confrontational there), and made a mental note that it could eventually be directed at me. By the end we were having huge fights roughly once a week, about major things like money or how I didn't feel heard, or how he didn't feel appreciated. He would mock me and often threw in my face the discrepancy in our spending on each other, despite making almost double my salary, not letting me spend on him for special occasions, and knowing from the jump that I support my mom. He spoke to me with contempt in anger, but when the anger passed he would go right back to being the thoughtful, sweet man I loved.
And I don't get it. I can't make sense of it. Does that mean he didn't actually love me? If money were no object, would that contempt reveal itself in something else? Did he feel too much pressure to keep up an act that wasn't authentic to him? Or lose interest? Was this abuse? He was intentional about being a good partner till the very end, unless he was angry. Even in our amicable parting words a couple of days after the breakup fight, he said he was sure we could work through anything but there's no use because money and a mutual unwillingness to compromise (about where to live together and how expenses are split) would always be a thorn on our side. He said he wished he made more money for me, but I feel like he actually wished I made more for him? But then why present himself as a provider?
I wish I had identified the Jekyll and Hyde act while we were together so I could at least ask about it. I just want to know which version was the real him. There's more to it all but this post is long enough. I just want to know what happened. :(
TLDR: boyfriend was thoughtful, attentive, and generous but would speak with contempt for me when he was angry, and almost always about money—that he wouldn't let me spend or knew I couldn't spend.

A few weeks ago, I felt dejected upon seeing my results for the USTET and ACET, both were my dream schools but unfortunately I didn't get in. I hoarded the past posts of people in Tomasino and the ateneo sub especially in the megathread in hopes I may be able to get myself reconsidered, from getting details such as the formatting to understanding the purpose, contents, and such of the reconsideration letter which I was able to make at least a week after the results were released. There was this one particular comment though which set me interacting with people of prestige and that involved the letter of endorsement.
The comment detailed how his friend was able to get into UST after talking to a Dominican Priest whom she was able to show her masterful works. That drove me into actively looking for priests to talk to myself. I didn't know anyone, nor did I know the process, but I was ready, I was ready to be interviewed, ready to show my works, ready to endorse myself to whomever was willing to help me in my endeavor, which also involved helping my friend attain a letter of his own. I asked my church friends if they knew any, and even joined religious groups on facebook to see if I could get into contact with anyone and after a while in passivity, a church leader friend messaged me. Apparently, he knew a Dominican friar and so, I pleaded with him which I really didn't have to given we were close and he was really willing to help. After detailing my situation, he set us up with the said friar in the Sto. Domingo church.
Fast forward to a week later, we were able to have an insightful conversation with him, but unfortunately he said he couldn't help our situation but recommended me to go into UST to talk to the priests there, or as an alternative which my aforementioned church leader friend and a priest from the church endorsed, approach the bishop of Cubao himself. I do admit that the meeting demoralized me, and I went home rather broken but a good sleep, short conversation with a friend whom I was also helping get into UST, and Miki Matsubara's Mayonaka No Door later, and I'm back in the game. I wrote a letter to the bishop for the both of us and asked his hand in endorsing us, especially that we were alumni in the school that housed the seat of the Diocese with weights to carry. Honestly, I wasn't really able to pour my heart and soul into that letter, unlike my reconsideration letters for ADMU and UST which I worked on in a computer shop for better focus, and I thought it wasn't written that well, but I gave what I could give, and was ready to face the uphill process I thought it was going to face. It helped that we had a late mother's day dinner to seal the day too.
A day later, I went to the obispado and gave the letter to the guard with whom I conversed with again after an errand in school regarding my DLSU grades form. He told me to come back yesterday and I did, unfortunately, still nothing but this time the different person on the desk asked me for my contact details. I was optimistic, and was willing to wait even more, but I didn't think it would be as quick as one day later. This morning, at least hours after I had once again checked my emails for updates, they called and told me to return. I was excited, and rushed to leave. "This is it" I thought. "We finally got an endorsement letter!" The guard enthusiastically gave them to me and the sister, whom I assume was Bishop's secretary, asked me to check if it was alright to avoid any issues and after reading the short but meaningful contents, I was happy.
My happiness was fanned further by seeing the K-Wave canned coke finally arrive in the Philippines after having it in Osaka.
Although right now time and slots are our enemy, being endorsed by the bishop is a good thing, a relatively big milestone, and a good impression I suppose to both universities run by Catholic orders. I didn't get any letters from either the Jesuits or Dominicans, but I am happy I got to meet with the latter in the quest for España and Katipunan. Thank you so much bishop!!!!

~Opening: Lead writer~
We at Honor Games (based in Pacific standard time (GMT-8) are searching for a competent lead writer to take on the hands-on details of implementing world building and character backstories of the IP we create. As of now, we have 1 project in active development (vultures), 1 project in preproduction (charge!), and 1 project waiting for proper personnel support (Equation of Humanity).
As a writer myself, I’ve come to understand that I’m more interested and able to do the big picture writing and act as a “show runner.” I’m less interested in IMPLEMENTING the nitty gritty details myself. I’D SAY I’M GOOD AT DOING “THE BROAD BRUSH”, and I’d like to find a writing candidate to train into lead writer, and eventually narrative director for the company.
I have a psychology background, and I act as CEO an executive producer for the company and projects in question. I’ve also acted as lead writer and PR lead in the past. I’m specifically searching for narrative candidates who are able to run with an existing direction, stay within the limits of said direction, yet also synthesize concepts into a holistic picture in potentially novel ways.
We’re looking for a passionate and strong minded individual, a person who can articulate their position and work alongside other department leads. They will be able to act as a core leadership member and back up their perspective logically. They will be able to hold their ground, and lead a writing department that has yet to be staffed. ~PROJECT OVERVIEWS:~
~Vultures~ is a game that combines the elements of an economic and manufacturing simulator such as Factorio and Production Line. The game takes place in real time, with players put in charge of a manufacturing corporate empire. Players are responsible for buying plants and equipment, hiring labor, and buying and selling raw materials and finished goods.
Vultures aims to satirize corporate culture and the manufacturing process. Vultures will keep players engaged, switching between the two simulations to keep either one from becoming stale too quickly.
~Charge!~ is a first-person shooter (FPS) set in the future where there is peace on earth, and this sport is how most people entertain and advance themselves. All weapons are light based. and players will be able to choose different color classes, each with their own unique set of features.
The game is effectively laser tag with mirrors, prisms, and lenses. It can also be thought of as Portal with light-based puzzles.
To advance the first-person shooter (FPS) genre, by adding novel mechanics and unconventional weapons. Returning to the halcyon days of FPS, focusing on deathmatch and the multiplayer experience.
~Equation of Humanity (EoH)~ Is a concept for a real-time strategy (RTS) game in a science fiction setting. Players will take control of one of two armies, building bases, managing resources, and producing and commanding units in order to destroy other players and AI controlled factions on the battlefield. EoH started out as a mod for another RTS game (Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars) named Tiberium Secrets. The mod aimed to add three new armies, each with unique aesthetics and mechanics that separated them both from existing elements within the base game and from each other. Tiberium Secrets had a partial release to good reception, especially considering how old the base game was at the time. However, the limitations of the base game and its license eventually proved insurmountable, and the mod was canceled before a full release. The ASI faction was finalized and shipped, along with minor but fundamental changes to the original factions.
EoH seeks to pick up where Tiberium Secrets left off. Like its predecessor, EoH has plans for three armies with radically different designs. Using the power of the Unreal Engine, EoH will be free of the constraints of a mod and will be commercially available as a standalone product.
The factions come complete with diverse units, structures, mechanics, and lore. Players will take command of a global government faction intent on ensuring the survival of humanity without concern for red tape or ideologies or an artificial intelligence believing itself to be the next evolution of humanity.
This Game’s aim is to create an aesthetically pleasing, diverse and intriguing play-style for each faction, incorporating inspiration from many other works and real-world subjects. We also strive to recreate and surpass the original draw and impact of “Tiberium Secrets”. Striving to present theories of how the world/ universe works and operates.

Hello, posting this here (after posting on gradschool), I still don’t know if this is the exact right place to ask this. Nonetheless, after recently being rejected from my dream school as a transfer, I have sought to attend there or somewhere comparable for graduate school, most likely seeking a masters.
For some context, I was recently accepted to UVA as an undergraduate sophomore transfer. My HS GPA was very low (3.4) and I didn’t really try as hard as I could’ve throughout most of high school. But, by senior year, I really started to care about everything and ended up self-studying my way to a 1540 SAT. While I am very excited to have gotten into UVA as a sophomore transfer, after going through this whole process twice now, I don’t want to stop. Call it prestige whoring, call it a bad reason, but my dream is to attend an Ivy League university. I love to learn and after going through the whole admissions process again, having done so much research into the faculty, programs, and opportunities at the ivys, I am determined to grow my profile and keep applying.
If any of you are free to answer, I do have some general questions about graduate school.

1. If any of y’all could start undergraduate over completely, coming in with the intention of going to graduate school, what would you change about your life and how would you go about your application? Would there be anything in particular you would try to do more of/make sure you did?
   
2. For anyone that has studied CS or pure Math as a BA, do you think one or the other is better for grad admissions/general usefulness?
   
3. How does dating/marriage work? I’ve heard that a lot of people find their partner in undergrad. For someone going into graduate school, do you continue to date your partner even when you moved off to graduate school? Is it harder to find a partner there than in undergrad?

TW: references to suicidal thinking, discussions of harm toward others, mental health challenges
When I (23f) was a freshman in college, I had a friend, Amanda (name changed), who was in the same program as me and lived down the hall from me, and we hit it off. She had her quirks, and she made gruesome comments a lot, but mostly it was stuff you could easily take as a joke without thinking twice about her intentions. I considered her a friend.
Towards the end of spring break, she called me and asked if I could take her to pick up her glasses that were being fixed as she couldn’t drive herself without them. I agreed and when I got back to campus that Saturday around noon, we headed out to get her glasses. Turns out it was a trap.
As soon as we got off campus, she went from acting totally normal to practically sobbing. She was over the top emotional, explaining how her partner had just broken up with her and how she was so hurt and broken. I was caught off guard by the sudden mood swing to say the least. But then she kept going. She proceeded to make remarks about driving to the ex’s place of employment to physically confront them, but wouldn’t it be a shame if she were to wreck and off herself intentionally along the way? Her pattern of thinking went off the deep end so fast I felt like I was getting whiplash. She went from laughing and joking to talking about offing herself to make her ex feel bad within literal minutes.
I did my best to calm Amanda. We got her glasses picked up, got her food, and then I told her she could come back to my dorm room when we got back to campus because her words made me scared to leave her alone. When we got back to my dorm I started to unpack from going to visit my parents over the break, and she sat on my floor and started telling me, in graphic detail, how she could off herself that night. I tried my best to calm her down, tried to lighten the mood, and text a mutual friend to come help me because Amanda was spiraling very rapidly.
Before the friend arrived, Amanda started describing how she could kill her ex and how easy it would be to kill me. Amanda was pretty athletic, and she worked out with our campus ROTC, so she was pretty agile. I knew if she had any intention of hurting me, I wouldn’t win in the fight. So when she was not paying as much attention or was looking at her phone, I started hiding anything and everything in my room I could think of that she could use to hurt herself or me: scissors, charging cables, my cutlery. And she kept flipping the conversation to hurting somebody (herself and/or me or her ex) the whole time. This spiral in my dorm lasted about three hours.
Finally my friend arrived and we were able to convince Amanda she needed help and drove her to the hospital around midnight. After waiting for almost 6 hours, Amanda was released and our mutual friend who had gone back with Amanda so she wasn’t alone pulled me aside and said Amanda had lied to the doctors and said we forced her there against her will and she was totally fine. The doctors released her with a prescription for an anxiety medication and a note to my friend to have Amanda give us all her sharp items.
We go back to the dorms, Amanda voluntarily gives us any sharp or weapon-like objects she has in her dorm, and separate to go to sleep. Not even two hours after I fall asleep that morning (it was almost 7 AM when we got back from the hospital), I wake up to noises in my room. I lived alone. Amanda had broken into my dorm room and was scurrying around in the dark. To say it scared the absolute crap out of me would be an understatement. Amanda claimed my door was unlocked, but I know it wasn’t. She also claimed she was only in there to get her leftovers from the day prior, but something didn’t feel right to me.
I distanced myself that next day because she was honesty scaring me and I needed space to sort out my thoughts. When I wouldn’t answer her messages, she started bombarding me with calls and texts. When I let her know I wasn’t answering because I was with other friends on campus, she requested that I let her into their dorm so she wasn’t alone. I said I couldn’t do that and she said she was going to harm herself. I called the RA on duty and informed them of her statements and sent screenshots of the message from Amanda saying she would hurt herself to them. When the RA went to check in on Amanda, they told me she was chilling in her room completely normal. No odd behavior or heightened emotions.
That Sunday night when I returned to my dorm, I had stepped in my room to put down my bag and turn on my light and then walked down the hallway to use the communal restroom. Her dorm room was on a hallway angled to my own and she could see my window from hers. She was watching and saw my light come on and was pounding at my door within minutes. She was knocking and yelling so loud I could hear her in the bathroom. It scared me, and I didn’t know what to do so I messaged another girl on our hallway and asked her to intervene so I could leave without Amanda spotting me.
When the girl went out to see what Amanda was doing and tell her to quit, Amanda told her that she was just going to pick my lock and wait for me to get back from wherever I had gone. My friend managed to distract Amanda enough that I slipped out of the dorm unnoticed.
I slept in another dorm that night with a friend, but went to my schools Title IX the next morning to report the break in and harassment. The school took four days, with around five meetings, including one with a campus counselor and several with the dean of student affairs to finally allow me a no contact order with Amanda, but the damage to me was done. I fell into what was one of the worst depressive episodes of my life. I was scared to leave my dorm room. I was scared to be alone. I woke up panicking thinking somebody was in my room. I didn’t leave my dorm room for almost two weeks unless my friends dragged me to the cafeteria for food but I rarely let them.
My grades plummeted because I wasn’t attending class or doing my homework. Amanda started telling anybody who was in the program with us that I had abandoned her for no reason and even told the dean of student affairs that we had been in a relationship and I didn’t want to break up with her to her face so I went to Title IX and made it all up. She was lying to anybody and everybody who would listen.
I almost lost my scholarships, I lost friends, and I lost myself because of all of this. It’s been five years now, and while I am better, I still have triggers related to what Amanda put me through. I’m slower to trust, more calculated when making plans with friends, and if anybody around me has a negative emotional response (aka anger or frustration or sadness) I panic into a spiral by automatically fearing that they will off themself.
The bright side of the situation ended up being a love of psychology that I discovered while trying to overcome my mental health struggles brought on by this situation. I changed my major to psychology, got my bachelors of science, and am now content working on my masters and looking forward to getting my PH.D. in the near future.
I don’t think I’ll ever fully emotionally recover from the fear and trauma of that weekend, but I forgave Amanda a long time ago because the reality of the situation is that she needed help. And I did all I could to try and get her that help, but if she wasn’t ready to accept it then there was truly nothing more I could have done. I only removed myself when it became harmful to myself. And I hope wherever Amanda ended up today that she is safe and content with her life and her choices.

(M25 and F21) Just a bit of context. My girlfriend and I have been together for 7 months. Fast forward 2 months and I stumbled acroos her messages to an old work colleague where she's been sending him nudes for years, even since the first incident. Again, the same response of tears, letters and she's now saying she's fully matured and just wants me.
The love we have for each other is real and given the context of her previous issues of lying, im desperately trying to find a way forward, a way to trust her again.
She moves home from university in 2 momths and we will be together at weekends, I desperately want to be able to trust her whilst she's at home during the week, but i dont know how.
I've never been the controlling type to have her location etc so ideally trying to avoid that. However she has offered me all of her social media logins.

13 years ago, sitting on a therapist’s couch; sophomore in college. I thought I knew everything. My erratic behaviour was due to my age, drinking, and occasional drug use. The voices I was hearing were due to traumatic experiences from my childhood. I wasn’t sick. I didn’t help. I was just going thru ‘some shit’.
Despite late night extravaganzas, hearing voices, shadows following my every move, and the CIA recording every conversation I was having; I kept up on my studies. Believe it or not I was a 3.0 student during my bachelors.
Now, where were we; yes, I was sitting on Dr. Egger’s couch. His bike against the wall because he rode his bike to work. He was the first to diagnose me. It was the first time the subject of ‘schizophrenia’ was brought up.
“Steven, it is based on my professional experience you are struggling because you are a person living with a serious mental illness.”
My response.
“Shut the fuck up. No way. I just need to stop drinking, going out, and probably need new friends.”
Dr. Eggers continued.
“Steven. You are struggling because you have schizophrenia.”
I was 20 years old when I was told the reason why my life had begun to spin out of control. Looking back at everything; being diagnosed or even just living with schizophrenia seems scarier when in reality it is just another hurdle like most aspects of life.
During my bachelors, I did the impossible. I was diagnosed with schizophrenia, started taking new medications, and still was studying every night. I was a member of the Muslim Student Association because during this period of my life I was Muslim. Now, just imagine being diagnosed with a serious mental disorder and being surrounded by folks who meant well but believed ‘prayer and Qur’an’ is all you need to feel better.
It was a dark time. My illness got to the point I ran away from my problems, from my life, and from those who I considered ‘friends and family’. I fled to Yemen of all places. I taught English overseas.
In summary, I was struggling with psychosis for a large part of my education. During my entire bachelor’s education, I was hospitalized at least once a year (took 5 years to complete my bachelors). The voices were getting out of hand. I was visually hallucinating during times of high stress. I attempted to kill myself on three separate occasions. Drugs, pills, liquor, and cutting. Nothing worked. It was as though God wanted me alive despite my willingness to end things.
I would get married between my bachelors and master’s education. For most folks, marriage is hard enough to sustain. Marriage can succeed if trust, empathy, love, humility, and compassion are being practiced by both parties involved. If I am being honest, I didn’t succeed on this front. My schizophrenia was telling me everyone was after me. No one was safe to trust. I was alone in the world. It was me against the world. My ex-wife I can’t blame for what happened. We had been married for 4 almost 5 years.
During this period of being married I was still completing my master’s education. Guess what? I ended up with a 3.5 GPA. It could be just me but that is one hell of an accomplishment given the fact I was agitated, distrustful, and believed food cooked for me was ‘poisoned’.
My schizophrenia not only crippled several personal romantic relationships, but it severed my relationship with my family. I don’t speak with my mother and father (or at least my adopted parents). Gene and Darcy tried so hard to raise me right. They attempted to teach me the difference between right and wrong. How to treat others and what it means to be ‘responsible’. What they didn’t anticipate was that one of their children would struggle with paranoid schizophrenia.
We had always had a tender relationship. Despite our differences, I was always able to return back to them for support. Everything changed four years ago. I had bought a house in Saint Paul, Minnesota (with their help). My schizophrenia during that time wasn’t as dominant. I had been meeting a therapist weekly but not taking medication at the time.
I am not sure what set me off or why my schizophrenia decided to set off a nuclear bomb; I packed my shit in my car, sold my house, and moved to Alaska without telling them of my intentions. The house they helped me buy (the money they put down towards the down payment) was squandered. I believed my phone was being tapped by the government, my neighbours were spies, my co-workers were listening to my thoughts, and that the voices I heard were correct.
Often the voices I hear say shit like this;
“You are useless. You are a nobody. Nobody loves you. Why don’t you just run away. No one will miss you. No one cares about you.”
“You can’t do anything right. You do everything wrong. Your co-workers talk about you. Everybody talks about you. Why don’t you just make a plan and kill yourself.”
These are just two examples of what my voices will comment on a daily basis.
My adopted parents down-payment was gone. They couldn’t get it back. I moved to Alaska. I believed everything was going to be better. I thought a new state, a new city, a new me. I was wrong. My schizophrenia followed me. It never missed a beat. It kept up.
I know it never left because it led to one of the most hurtful break-ups I have ever had; I still love her with all my heart. I would take a bullet for her. I would give her my heart if she needed a new one. My schizophrenia caused me to push away someone who I felt was ‘the one’. This was the most painful experience I have ever gone thru.
Now, folks after saying all this is it possible to survive schizophrenia. I think it is. I say this knowing that 13 years ago I was sitting on a stiff couch believing that I was just having a bad time that would be over soon. I accomplished going to school. I have a bachelors and a masters. I have lived in Yemen, Thailand, and Indonesia just to name a few countries. I have travelled far and wide and seen the most beautiful sunsets.
I might have schizophrenia, but life hasn’t stopped. I wake up every day and need to decide what am I going to do next; am I going to let schizophrenia CONTROL MY LIFE or am I going to try my best to PUT UP A FIGHT.
