Rockefeller would address this meeting as a necessary goal in deescalating the decades of tension between the U.S. and the Soviets, hoping that stronger diplomatic affairs would have a greater effect against communist forces than meddling in the civil affairs of other countries.

Vietnam War: With high expectations towards an end to the Vietnam War, the president would announce his goal to end U.S. involvement in the war before his term ends. This would first start with threats of advanced bombing campaigns on the North in response to any continuation of the Tet Offense, drawing further ire from anti-war activists. Things would drastically change, however, when on May 14th, 1969, President Rockefeller announced his vision for a peace plan with the U.S. and North Vietnam removing troops from South Vietnam over the next year. This would start with the U.S. removing 25,000 American troops from the active conflict.
A controversial move during the war would come when the U.S. and South Vietnam pulled a surprise bombing on Cambodian lands on March 20th, 1969, with the intent of destroying North Vietnamese strongholds. Many within the Democratic Party would condemn the move as a reckless endeavor that would have potentially escalated the war via Cambodia's involvement. President Rockefeller would retaliate against these remarks by arguing that the Cambodian government was already involved in the war by aiding North Vietnam.
In a diplomatic move, President Rockefeller would fly to the capitol of North Vietnam in September of 1969, one of several trips the president would make to the Vietnamese countries, in order to pay his respects in light of the passing of Ho Chi Minh. This claim would be certified when the Senate passed a near-unanimous decision in June 22nd, 1971 to pull out all U.S. troops from Vietnam by the end of the year.

Civil Rights: President Rockefeller would seek to further support the pursuit of civil rights by creating new regulations towards the desegregation of elementary and secondary schools, as well as working to negotiate new busing policies within the South that would better aid black and Hispanic youths. It would empower the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission to take such enforcement actions against businesses, individuals, employers, and labor unions found to be violating said laws. The amendment would also require employers to make accommodations for the religious practices of employees.
In a major push for equal opportunities, the president would sign the Equal Employment Opportunity Act of 1972 on March 24th of that year. The act, serving as an amendment to the 1964 Civil Rights Act, would authorize the federal and state governments with the power and responsibility of enforcing anti-discrimination within the workforce by cracking down on employment discrimination against minority groups.

Major Accomplishments: On July 20th, 1969, the U.S. would define human history when they successfully landed two astronauts on the moon. Astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin would become the first men to stand on the moon, with each of them eventually being awarded the Medal of Freedom by Rockefeller. During a speech regarding the landing, President Rockefeller would give recognition to Presidents Kennedy and Reuther, as well as the many scientists, engineers, computers, and NASA employees who made the feat possible.
On April 22nd, 1970, President Rockefeller would join with House Speaker Ford, Democratic senator Gaylord Nelson, and Interior Secretary Russell W. Peterson, in celebrating the very first national Earth Day. This event would serve as a massive charity event dedicated to uplifting environmental organizations, as well as a massive public litter-cleaning event across New York City.
On December 31st, 1970, President Rockefeller would sign the Clean Air Bill, authorizing the development of federal and state regulations to limit emissions from both stationary and mobile sources.

Major Controversies: On May 4th, 1970, members of the National Guard would shoot and kill four student protestors at the Kent State University in Ohio, with nine more students being wounded during the conflict. This would cause more than 100,000 protestors to gather around numerous government buildings, including the White House. In response to this, the president would condemn the shooting, as well as announcing that the offending officers would be removed from active duty and that the Department of Justice would begin investigating the shooting.
The New York Times would begin publishing a series of reports known as the Pentagon Papers, starting on June 13th, 1970. These papers would detail the secret history of the Department of Defense's activities and reports during the Vietnam War, as well as revealing that the Dirksen, Humphrey, Kennedy, Reuther, and Rockefeller administrations had misled the public regarding the Vietnam War.

Hey guys my 2008 ford ranger has been idling roughly in neutral. When I go to start it sometimes misfires as well - no check engine light though. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

There are a few cracks and scrapes on the fairings and owner says it rattles a bit when riding is that a big red flag or a easy fix? what do you think?

No problem here is the info about the Mercedes-Benz launched the last evolution of its compact-sized sedan model in 1990, a car that became the legendary 190 E 2.5-16 Evolution II.
The late ’80s was a battle on the race tracks between Audi, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Ford, and Opel in the German Touring Championship, or DTM for short. BMW had its M3 Evo already racing, Audi smashed the tracks with its V8 quattro model, while Ford was in charge with the Sierra Cosworth. Opel, the European arm of GM, also got some help from the same British engineering company that helped the blue-oval brand. Mercedes-Benz already had the 190 in racing trim with an engine fine-tuned by Cosworth, but it was not enough. It needed something more, so the 190 2.5-16 Evolution II was developed and introduced in 1990.
Mercedes-Benz needed the car to be faster, so it hired aerodynamics professor Richard Eppler from the University of Stuttgart to give it a helping hand. The result surprised Wolfgang Reitzle, BMW’s R&D chief, who said that the laws of aerodynamics might work differently between Stuttgart and Munchen, and if that aerodynamic kit could work, BMW should rebuild its aerodynamics tunnel. They rebuilt it. The Evo II’s front apron was lowered and shaped like it was a snowplow. On the sides, the car sported a body kit with enlarged wheel arches both front and rear and skirts that were a few inches above the ground. But the most outrageous element was the wing on the trunk that was tall and extended rearwards. The complete aerodynamic package increased the downforce on the vehicle by nearly 40%.
To get the car homologated, the automaker had to build at least 500 units of the car, so it did and gained the FIA approval to race the car. Unlike those made to run around tracks, the street versions were up to Mercedes-Benz standards in terms of features and amenities. At the front, there was a pair of high-bolstered sports seats covered in leather. The car also benefited from air-conditioning and a premium sound system. Unlike other Mercedes-Benz vehicles from that era, the Evo II featured an adjustable hydraulic suspension that could lower the car to the ground or take it higher to cross speed bumps. As a final touch, the automaker added a sunroof for standard 190 E 2.5-16 Evo II.
But the most essential upgrades were under the skin. The engine was based on the 2.5-liter M102 16V I4 developed in 1989 but had its power improved. Moreover, the red line was around 7,800 rpm, which helped the car get higher speeds. A five-speed Getrack manual gearbox with a dog-leg pattern (first gear was to the left and rearwards) was employed so drivers could gain precious seconds during races. All these efforts paid off in 1992 when the three-pointed star brand finally won the DTM championship, even if the car that won it was no longer in production.

They keep calling me; 150 days on the lot. Wondering how low they’d go to move this poor thing. I’d have to go for the lowest possible monthly payment with all these kids in the house still.

Advise appreciated! I bought this 2005 Mazda3 sport from the original owner, 92k miles, $4100 dollars. Craigslist purchase so I was in a rush to say yes.
I honestly don’t think they were aware of how much maintenance the car needed, but I’ve gotten several quotes back. I don’t think I can justify investing this much into the car even though I love it and the interior and exterior are very clean for its age.
One quote from Mazda for 5 thousand and another from a local totaling 2.5 grand in work on the brakes and suspension and an additional 2.2 in maintenance for transmission fluids, coolant, power steering fluid, headlight restoration, etc.
To top it all off, there’s a small Engine oil leak from the rear main seal.
Any thoughts? Did I buy a lemon or did I simply think I could get away with only spending $4k on a car? 😭

What are everyone’s thoughts on these? Normally I just collect the main lines.
