2013.05.26 02:06 Memphis Rap

Known for its darkness, heavy bass, and fast flows; Memphis Rap originated in the early '90s with the likes of DJ Squeeky, DJ Zirk, DJ Spanish Fly, and early Three 6 Mafia. Perhaps most notably, it was Memphis Rap, along with Miami Bass, that laid the groundwork for Crunk and Trap. Memphis Rap was crucial to the Horrorcore movement, as its grimey and often sinister production complemented its hardcore lyricism. Additionally, it was the first style of rap to feature true tongue twisting.

2024.05.21 20:00 Mobile-Worker-5153 Confused: MS CS or MS IS

My background: Tier 2 B.Tech CSE, 7.96 CGPA, 1.5 yoe business analyst
My interests: Cross functional work between multiple tech and business teams, data analysis, business intelligence
Goal jobs: Businesss Intelligence or Tech Product Management
Personal thoughts on MS CS:
Pros:
Cons: - might have to settle for less ranked uni than MS IS due to work background, work exp not transferable to dev jobs - not keen on software development - might be too math intensive for me, not a fan of math
Thoughts on MS IS:
Pros:
Cons: - degree seems to be less favoured by recruiters compared to MS CS - avg starting salary is less than MS CS
Do you guys agree with this assessment?

2024.05.21 19:53 MikenIkey [3 YoE] Cloud Engineer seeking resume review after edits before continuing applications. Not getting interviews

[3 YoE] Cloud Engineer seeking resume review after edits before continuing applications. Not getting interviews
Background: I have been on a career break for a year and a half now, having quit my job to accomplish a prominent life goal. After re-transitioning back into regular life, I have been applying primarily to Cloud, DevOps, Technical Support, and entry-level Software engineering roles but have not been successful in getting any interviews. Prior to my career break, I was working for a prominent cloud computing platform (I'll let you take a guess as to which one) and have a considerable amount of experience building, supporting, and troubleshooting infrastructure on there. Despite this, I haven't been successful in landing any interviews. I'm applying both to local (Portland, OR) and remote positions, and besides the resume component, I probably haven't been submitting as many resumes as I should regarding numbers game.
Request: I believe my prior resume was not selling myself well, so I've looked at the wiki and made considerable edits to it before starting another round of applications. I'd appreciate some feedback primarily on the experience bullets (including addressing my career break) and projects, but am open to other feedback. After reflecting on job responsibilities, it was challenging to pare down the experience and there are other parts I have not highlighted as much, like focusing on storage solutions and working more with streaming infrastructure. I've also attached a copy of my prior resume for comparison to see if I'm headed in the right direction.
Other notes: I removed my 3 years of part-time support work during college at Company X to make room for more detailed experience during full-time career at company A/B. I've been studying Docker and Terraform during my career break via online courses, wasn't sure how to best capture that so added to skills, will add a bullet when I have a substantial project and/or appropriate certification. Working currently as a part-time barista, didn't seem relevant to include.

2024.05.21 19:52 AICareer YouTube Lessons for Engineers Looking to Diversify Their Income, Beginners

I've been making content on YouTube over the last couple of years, growing my own personal channel to over 4,168 subscribers and another channel to over 12,021 (so far).
With 5.8+ million views and over five figures in revenue, here are my top lessons:
1) Not doing keyword research: This is the biggest mistake I made. Making videos without knowing if there was any demand for them.
The key is to identify what people are looking for and watching, and make that.
2) Not knowing my audience and making "what I wanted": I used to make one video about traveling, then a video about engineering, then another one about mental health. This led to low views and poor engagement. Know who your audience is exactly, and make helpful videos for them.
3) Thinking YouTube Ads are the best way to monetize content: YouTube Ads are a nice bonus, but the biggest way to monetize YouTube content is through services (like 1:1 coaching), courses, affiliate marketing (where you get a commission for recommending products), and sponsorships.
4) Not leveraging bigger YouTube channels to build my own: There is a reason people "react" to other people's videos. This is a great way to get more exposure and views. React to other content as long as it makes sense for your brand and channel. Otherwise, you'll attract the wrong audience (ahem, ask me how I know :)).
5) Overthinking:This held me back for a long time, especially as an engineer with a professional career. I'll say this: as long as the content you make is helpful and brings value to people's lives, it shouldn't affect your career. Practice makes you better and overthink less.
BONUS:
6) Thinking subscribers equal money: This could not be further from the truth. More subscribers don't equal money. I started monetizing my YouTube channel with 1:1 coaching sessions since the time I had 200 subscribers.
Additionally, I recently saw a lady who had 700 subscribers and her business made $275K from her YouTube channel! It's not about subscribers. It's about the value you share and challenges you help people overcome.
I believe every engineer should have a YouTube channel, as every single one of us has something valuable to share not just from a professional standpoint, but also from your personal life. What challenges can you help people overcome? What challenges did YOU overcome?
YouTube is the best place to start sharing your wisdom. You can create content on YouTube, monetize your expertise through 1:1 coaching or consulting, feel fulfilled and make a positive impact in the world (especially if you're not getting this from your job).
If you are an engineer looking to get started with YouTube and leverage their skills, expertise, and life experience to help people, increase your income, make a positive impact in the world, and reach your financial and personal goals faster, message me "YOUTUBE." I'm looking for 5 engineers to help them get started, cohort will start June 10th.

2024.05.21 19:52 AltairRC 1 Year with Xiaomi 12T

I won't say that I am writing a proper review or something. Just sharing my personal experience with my Xiaomi 12T. Excuse my English, it's not my first language. Btw I am from SEA, the weather here is either hot most of the time or just a little bit cold because of heavy rain during rainy season. Some of the most popular games here I would say are ML/Mobile Legends (still playing on my 12T) and PUBGM/PUBG Mobile (stop playing on my 12T cause I play on my iPad).
First of all, why do I bought my current Xiaomi 12T? Because my phone before, Poco X3 Pro, just died while I am PUBG Mobile. When I search through the internet, I figured it out that there're many Poco X3 Pro out there with the same problem as mine. So, I brought it to the closest service center and it is the motherboard burn or something. And, the cost for replacing the motherboard is like >90% of the price I paid for when I bought my Poco X3 Pro. The customer service's staff advice me not to repair it, so I do. At this point, I just use my Poco X3 Pro for almost one year and a half (1.5 year) which is unacceptable because my phone before that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 being my main for 3.5 years at least. Even though, my Redmi Note 5 is just sitting on my desk, it is still alive until today which make it almost 6 years. I just open and charge it once in while. And for it entire lifespan, I just change it's battery and charging port, that's all.
So, even though part of me being "I won't buy Xiaomi any more" because of my not so good experience with my Poco X3 Pro. There's still part of me feel like giving Xiaomi a second chance with 2 reasons.
  1. I have a very good experience with my Redmi Note 5. Even though I tortured it as much as my Poco X3 Pro and try to bent it through the back like JerryRigEverything, it still survive.
  2. Maybe I just being unlucky and got into problem this time around with my Poco X3 Pro. Like, that's why warranty exist because it's not like 100% product manufactured is completely perfect. Unfortunately, mine is out of warranty. And maybe this is why an ex-flagship chip Snapdragon 860 can be put inside such a budget device.
So, while waiting for my Xiaomi 12T, I back to using my Redmi Note 5. Even though it was lagging and "old smartphone problem" everything, it still get the basic job done. Then, my Xiaomi 12T arrived. I can't really remember my whole experience from the beginning to right now with 12T as I don't write on note or something, I will just write this base on my memories.
First few weeks/month, honeymoon phase some will say. Few things that I notice compared to my Poco X3 Pro is that the 120Hz is much smoother and the AMOLED is beautiful. 108mp is an upgrade compared to 48mp on Poco X3 Pro, I keep zooming and testing on the camera and the snap/shutter is much more responsive. 120w is really fast and hot. Under display optical fingerprint scanner is much more convenient than side mounted fingerprint, not sure if it is faster. I can play ML at high graphic and Ultra/120fps frame rate, 90fps smooth on PUBGM. I really enjoy my Xiaomi 12T. So, I will say these is few things that I realized as a significant upgrade compared to Poco X3 Pro.
So here are a few problems or things that I personally don't like with my Xiaomi 12T. 1. PUBGM even though 90fps is enable, it was not that enjoyable. Meshes/Texture was not completely rendered. I am not sure if this is the correct word. Like, I can see the building and structure but the surface of those building and structure take few seconds or never rendered.
  1. I rarely use the ultrawide unless I really need it. Never touch the macro lens, I rather use the main camera and zoom/crop in. Main camera is good with enough light and not-that-good on lowlight situation. The other thing I don't really like is the colour processing on the default camera app as I don't see such problem with third party app. Which is the black colour or dark area being processed quite weird, it look unnatural in my eyes.
  2. Sometime, quite rarely, it didn't detect when I try to charge it. I am sure it was charging but somehow the charging notification or something didn't appear. I can solved it by unplug and re plug again. If that doesn't work, I will try to reboot the device. Then, it detect the charging.
  3. "Power button ghosting" I would say. It rarely happened but the first time it happened it was really frustrating as I can't use my phone as it continue to power off and power on itself for half a day. The next time this almost-same problem happened again, it is not that problematic and frustrating as the first time but still a problem.
  4. ML unstable performance. Sometimes, if it's alright, I can do high graphics 120fps. When it was not alright, no matter what I do even though put the graphic on low, it still lagging/low frame rate. When war, it can drop under 15 fps when not alright. I don't use app or tool to measure, but my eyes know that is definitely under 15 fps. So, I tried to delete some games and heavy stuff and maintain my storage around 200GB/256GB, it was alright for a while. Then, it come back again. I tried to delete some stuff more, it seem to not disappeared. Maybe I should delete more stuffs, but what the points of me buying 256GB if I can't use it all.
All in all, I have a good time with my Xiaomi 12T if the above problem does not occur. Maybe because I become much more tech-nit-picky as my knowledge about smartphone and technology increased and I know how a good phone should act. It's a midrange device after all, I know I can't expect it to perform like a flagship.

2024.05.21 19:50 Fun_Vermicelli_5012 MY Kult haul and review:)

Excited to share my Kult Haul purchased in the last one month. Since, I was in a treat myself mood, might have overdone it but as I have started using them, I wanted to give my reviews that can help this awesome community as they treat themselves! Eyeshadows: 1. Huda Beauty Wild Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette: An absolute steal and a great palette to have on the go since it has a mix of browns, purple, pink, gold and black in matte and glitter. If you have to get only one palette get this one! Great formula and stays for a long time 5/5 2. Huda Beauty Brown Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette: A great pallet if you regularly use eyeshadows with both matte and shimmer shades, really subtle and good for neutral office looks too 5/5 3. Gush Beauty Eye like it stacked- Heavy Metal (Freebie): Choose this freebie and a handy one for travel with a good mix of shades, the shimmer ones are great but the matte shades are okayish. 4/5 Lipstick: Rom&nd Zero Velvet Tint Vintage Filter Series- Fade Red: A very good formula and a great red shade that is not too bright for medium skin tones. Leaves a nice tint without drying the lips. Lasting power is not that great but the tint is cute. 4/5 Huda Beauty Liquid matte Ultra Comfort Transfer proof lipstick mini - Trendsetter: A nude shade for my tone and a subtle lipstick that I can wear to the office. Not really extraordinary but the formula is good and the size too for my on-the-go makeup pouch 3/5 Huda Beauty Power Bullet Matte Lipstick mini-Interview: An okayish shade for my tone, very little quantity, and the colour does not show up really on me, wasn’t too excited with this one 2/5 M.A.C Powder Kiss Lipstick -Brickthrough: A great shade, good formula but not that great of a lasting power. 4/5 Huda Beauty Power Bullet Matte Lipstick- Game Night: An awesome brown shade that goes really well with any kind of makeup, can be worn to work and party, nice shade to invest in with great, comfortable formula. Lasts moderately though! 4/5 Revlon Colorstay Overtime Lip Color- Forever Scarlett (Freebie): Not really a fan since the gloss is too sticky and the lipstick side is shear and not too comfortable on the lips 1/5 Jason Wu Beauty Honey Fluff Lip Cream-Ballerina Nude (Freebie): Surprisingly good formula but not a great shade on me, worth trying other shades though. 3/5 Foundations: Huda Beauty #FauxFilter Mini Luminous Matte Foundation- Butter Peccan: Thick formula and gives good coverage. Would recommend trying it out before you get it since many shades are similar. 5/5 Studio Fix Fluid Spf 15 Foundation Mini- NC37: A good formula that gives a nice, comfortable coverage. Size is travel-friendly but without a pump or applicator, it is difficult to use. 4/5 Maybelline Newyork Superstay Full Coverage Foundation-310 Sun Beige: A good coverage and a natural long-lasting Finish, good for everyday use if you like a light base. 4/5 Maybelline Newyork Superstay Full Coverage Foundation-220 Natural Beige: Got this shade too. 4/5 Blush and Highlighter: Revolution Blush and Highlight Stick-Mauve Glow (Freebie): Nice blush shade and okayish highlighter, good for travel and on-the-go use. 3/5 Others: M.A.C Prep+Prime Fix+Original 13ml: Good product and awesome performance, will buy the full-size next time it's available. 5/5 Revolution Loose Baking Powder-Peach (Freebie): Nice baking powder, but choose the shade wisely since this one is a bit orangish, but its glides well on the skin. 3/5 Jason Wu Tinted Moisturizer Meets CC cream -Shade 5 (Freebie): My best freebie in the entire haul, gives a nice smooth natural finish and the formula is just wow! 5/5

2024.05.21 19:47 Sad-Tonight7940 Customer Support?

Does it exist?! Is there a way to just make a ticket?
My RTK station died and I have been trying to chat with someone for over an hour. Every time I get to the front of the queue in the chat they just disconnect me. I have had this POS for a month and had nothing but issues.
I'm ready to just contact Amazon about a refund, and have a chat about selling $2,700+ products that do not function!

2024.05.21 19:45 mgee6165 Return multiple Values across 2 sheets? IFS? VLOOKUP?

I have a file that i have to pull multiple times a week a week, and compare to the prior file. I feel like this should be very easy, but I'm just not finding the solution.
I've already created a unique identifier (PO #, then the line concatenated), and I feel like a simple VLOOKUP then just drag the formula around would do the trick but it errors out every time.

Here is the new data, but I want to reference the other sheet to fill in the notes, jobs, sew jobs columns that are previously populated, as opposed to copy and pasting manually. the Data is unique for each row.
I did put in a ifs(finumberis - etc etc, and it returned data, but it was incorrect. I appreciate the help, and i'm sure its going to be something super stupid and simple.

Stuck fermentation?
This is my first time making this. I accidentally fucked up and bought 5% smart balance apple juice. I still added sugar, but after about 3 days theres no more foaming/bubbling. Is it stuck? Do i have to throw it out or can i save it? The one on the right is also apple juice (grape flavored) but 100% juice and full sugar so its still going fine. Can i add yeast nutrient to get it going?

2024.05.21 19:43 Tygrisica Packages sitting in warehouse for over 80 days

As said in the title, I've had 2 packages sitting in the warehouse for over 80 days, soon reaching the 90 days limit.
It was my first time using Buyee for ordering pre-orders and in-between that and delivery to the warehouse, I lost access to my email address linked to the Buyee account and never saw the emails about them receiving my products.
I understand it's my mistake for never logging back on Buyee and presuming things about the shipping procedures, but I was certain they would ship it to my default address the moment they received it. They already had all my billing informations to charge me for the delivery fees from their warehouse so I don't understand why they got stored.
I take full responsibility for the mishap on my part, but I don't think my wallet will be able to endure the blow from the extra storage fee. Is there a way to minimize the fees for my mistake? Would consolidating the packages help?
Thank you for your answers!

5 Reasons a Personal Driver is worth hiring in Dubai blogger

Dubai is a city that dazzles with its incredible architecture, luxurious living, and vibrant culture. However, for newcomers and residents alike, it can be overwhelming to navigate. The complex road network, heavy traffic, and scarce parking can make getting around a real hassle. That’s where hiring a personal Best Safe driver comes in. Imagine having a reliable chauffeur ready to take you anywhere, anytime, in comfort and style. Here are five compelling reasons to consider hiring a personal driver in Dubai:
  1. Reclaim Your Time: Life in Dubai moves at a fast pace, which can be both thrilling and exhausting. A personal driver lets you avoid the stress of navigating unfamiliar roads, figuring out confusing signs, or hunting for parking. This frees up your commute time, allowing you to catch up on emails, make work calls, read a book, or simply relax before your next appointment.
  2. Live Like Royalty: Dubai is the epitome of luxury, and having a personal driver lets you experience it firsthand. You can attend business meetings with ease, arrive at social events in style, and let your trained driver handle all the logistics. This gives you more time to focus on building connections and enjoying your time in the city.
  3. Prioritize Safety: While Dubai is generally safe, driving on unfamiliar roads, especially at night, can be intimidating. An experienced personal driver who knows the city’s streets and traffic patterns ensures your safety throughout your journey. This allows tourists to relax and enjoy their sightseeing without worry.
  4. Discover Hidden Gems: Dubai is much more than its towering skyscrapers and shopping malls. With a local guide as your personal driver, you can create an itinerary that takes you off the beaten path. Discover hidden treasures like charming markets or serene desert oases, adding a unique touch to your visit.
  5. Enjoy Personalized Service: While ride-sharing apps offer convenience, a personal driver provides a level of service that apps can't match. Imagine being greeted with a smile, having your luggage handled for you, and receiving personalized tips on local hotspots tailored to your preferences.
By hiring a personal driver, you can make the most of your time in Dubai and enjoy the city in a luxurious and stress-free way.
