Exploring the Opportunities of 4 Acres of Agricultural Land
Exploring the Opportunities of 4 Acres of Agricultural Land
Exploring the Prospects of 4 Acres of Farming AcreageIf you're a farmer or landholder who has recently acquired 4 acres of farming land, or if you're thinking of buying such a property, you might be pondering the available opportunities. The great news is that 4 acres of land can offer a wide array of prospects for agricultural production and economic progress. In this piece, we'll delve into the various options for utilizing 4 acres of farming acreage, from traditional farming methods to specialized crops, and from livestock rearing to agricultural tourism endeavors. We'll also talk about the significance of thorough planning, research, and investment to make the most of this land and optimize your potential for success. To comprehend the potential of 4 acres of farming acreage, a comprehensive evaluation of the physical, environmental, and market conditions is essential. The land characteristics, such as soil type, topography, and water accessibility, will significantly impact the types of crops that can be grown and livestock that can be reared. Furthermore, factors such as climate, local regulations, and consumer demand will influence the profitability and feasibility of various farming enterprises. Conducting a thorough analysis of these factors will aid in determining the best approach to utilizing your 4 acres of land. One of the most prevalent uses for farming land is crop production. With 4 acres of land, you have the chance to cultivate a diverse range of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and specialized crops. You may opt to focus on a single crop, such as strawberries or pumpkins, or diversify your production to include several types of produce. By conducting market research and scrutinizing consumer demand, you can pinpoint profitable opportunities for crop production in your area.Another option for utilizing 4 acres of farming acreage is livestock rearing. Depending on your interests and the local market, you may contemplate raising poultry, goats, sheep, or other small ruminants. Livestock can offer a sustainable source of income through the sale of meat, eggs, milk, and other products. Additionally, animals can contribute to the ecological balance of the land through rotational grazing and manure production, which can bolster soil fertility and crop production. In recent years, the demand for locally grown and organic products has triggered an uptick in the popularity of small-scale farming and sustainable agriculture. If you are intrigued by organic farming, 4 acres of land can offer a suitable environment for cultivating certified organic crops and rearing organic livestock. By implementing natural and chemical-free farming practices, you can tap into the burgeoning market for organic products and promote environmental stewardship.Alongside traditional farming methods, 4 acres of farming acreage can be utilized for agroforestry, which amalgamates trees and agriculture in a mutually beneficial manner. Agroforestry systems can encompass orchards, silvopasture, and windbreaks, providing diverse economic, ecological, and social benefits. By strategically integrating trees into your farming land, you can diversify your income streams, enhance soil and water conservation, and boost the overall sustainability of your farming operation. If you're eager to explore alternative crops, such as medicinal herbs, culinary mushrooms, or rare fruits, 4 acres of land can offer the space and flexibility to experiment with unique and high-value crops. Specialized crops often yield higher profit margins than conventional crops, making them an attractive option for small acreage farmers. By identifying niche markets and formulating a niche marketing strategy, you can capitalize on the demand for specialized crops and set yourself apart from larger-scale competitors.Another approach to utilizing 4 acres of farming acreage is through agricultural tourism ventures, which can include pick-your-own operations, farm stays, educational workshops, and agritainment activities. By inviting visitors to your farm, you can generate additional income through entry fees, product sales, and value-added experiences. Agricultural tourism can also provide opportunities for community engagement, education, and fostering customer loyalty. However, it is crucial to carefully consider the additional labor, infrastructure, and liability involved in operating agricultural tourism activities. When planning the development of 4 acres of farming acreage, it is crucial to consider the infrastructure and resources needed to support your chosen enterprise. This may encompass fencing, irrigation systems, greenhouses, barns, and equipment. Investing in the requisite infrastructure will enhance the efficiency and productivity of your farming operation and help ensure the long-term viability of your land.Aside from physical infrastructure, investing in technology and innovation can further enrich the prospects of 4 acres of farming acreage. This may include precision agriculture tools, digital marketing strategies, and sustainable farming practices. By staying abreast of the latest advancements in farming technology and adopting best practices, you can bolster the productivity, profitability, and sustainability of your farm. It's worth noting that launching a farming enterprise on 4 acres of land demands meticulous financial planning and risk management. While small-scale farming can be financially rewarding, it also entails substantial upfront costs and operational expenses. Conducting a realistic financial projection and budgeting for initial investments, ongoing expenses, and potential risks will help you make well-informed decisions and secure necessary funding.Furthermore, it's advisable to seek out educational resources, support networks, and professional advice when exploring the prospects of 4 acres of farming acreage. Local agricultural extension offices, farm organizations, and business development centers can furnish valuable information, workshops, and networking opportunities. Additionally, seeking counsel from experienced farmers, agronomists, and financial advisors can offer practical insights and guidance to aid you in making informed decisions for your farming enterprise. In conclusion, 4 acres of farming acreage present an array of prospects for farming and agricultural entrepreneurship. Whether you're keen on crop production, livestock farming, specialized crops, agroforestry, or agricultural tourism, thorough planning, research, and investment are imperative for successful utilization of this land. By leveraging your resources, exploring innovative markets, and embracing sustainable practices, you can maximize the potential of 4 acres of farming acreage and establish a flourishing and diversified farming operation.

2024.05.15 19:19 x993231 X From Ihub with a few thoughts See some of you next week

Lol now ihub punk is asking “What is the current sales pipeline for Lightwave Logic's polymer modulators and other products? Can you share any details on the size and timing of potential deals with the 20+ major corporations that have viewed the technology demo?"
"When do you anticipate Lightwave Logic will achieve its first $1 million revenue quarter? What milestones need to be hit to reach that level of quarterly sales?"
"What is the company's plan to become cash flow positive and profitable? When do you expect Lightwave Logic to reach profitability?”
Punkin has come a long way, he used to say that it could never be done, now he keeps falling back, apparently trying to hold the line, lol, now he is asking questions about revenue and dang even invoking God to help humanity as his reason for posting in his credentials. Even if one thinks that they are right that is quite a statement, typically something that a reasonable person keeps to themselves a life's effort is something between them and their creator. I have no idea where this technology will lead or what it will solve, my goal is an investment, certainly not divine, I have no clue in the end who it will truly benefit but the medical thing does have potential.
Today I'm happy with thousands of modulators on a foundry produced wafer. And thousands of modulators from a few ounces of Perkinamine. These modulators Triple the speed, reduce the power and are 1/30 the size of today's modulators. Lebby will fill us in on what we need, he is far more intelligent than anyone on this board.
Read on folks.
Oh and do not forget about those that sold early (or didn’t sell early) that purport to be long and like to consistently complain every single time the price drops. Let me try to explain it this way, this is not a sports game, this is a technology, so unlike sports, points can be literally be taken of the scoreboard by simply borrowing and selling shares (shorts). Remember though that those shares must be purchased back and until then the actual score of the game is not known. So the shorts agenda is to sell it down then try and convince folks to sell them shares at that discounted price. Some longs do not understand that they are helping the shorts at their game. That being said, there are currently 17% more shares sold than exist. They have borrowed those shares and pay interest daily and have sold them to us with the hope of buying them back at a reduced price (Some purported longs even try to help them) apparently, they think that if they complain it will force an NVDA, Microsoft, IBM, Amazon to reach an agreement with Lightwave sooner. Well, it will not change the speed of the adoption of the technology, I’m all for doing a tier1 agreement, but a few quick little agreements could force their hand so the Tier1’s do not have to have to honor those agreements should the company be taken over. Some seam to forget that until now Silicon photonics could keep up, but no more and with AI we just entered a new world, where the pace set by Moore's Law for silicon photonics is leisurely compared to this new demand. AI is totally on a sprint, with its computational power doubling not every two years, but approximately every six months.
Let me look at what the shorts have said over the years basically throwing spaghetti at the wall and have been proven wrong. Patents were filed in 2020, 2021, ALD I think was 2022. Patents were not made public, the shorts were babbling meanwhile Lebby had not only solved it but wrote and submitted patents.
Here are the 10 top B.S. short myths, trying to suppress the stock so they could try and cover I also think that there are a few purported longs that sold prematurely that are now helping to push the shorts game forward, meanwhile with the next deal announcement the dam is about to burst.
I’d love to see Punkin hold a conversation with Lebby one on one for 5 minutes, it would be hilarious,
Shorts and those paid by the shorts to act like they “know something” won't even tell you when they are short, they just say, no not short just here to spend my life 7 days a week helping folks that I have never met. Well, here they are, you tell me guys.
1.) The shorts had worked for months to try and convince investors that Lightwave had a problem poling. Then low and behold Lightwave unveiled 2 patents they submitted years prior solving that issue.
2.) The shorts claimed for years Lightwave could not protect the device in anything other than a gold box, then Lightwave unveiled the ALD patent that they had acquired. Basically, hair spray over the finished chip is all that is needed. The foundries are using the same thing over the electronics side of the chip. Understand that even if someone else invents an EO Polymer Lightwave Owns the Patent on ALD over Polymers. Comprende?
3.) The shorts claimed Lightwaves material was not stable, Wham Bam blown out of the water yet again.
4.) Shorts said that Lightwave could never get this under 1 volt, well Lightwave did, in fact Lightwaves polymer is so sensitive that their modulators can function without the aid of driver to boost the voltage. Basically the electrons in the 1's and 0's rolling off the silicon can embed themselves into the laser using Lightwaves polymer. Oh and by the way, Lightwave also owns the patent on a driverless Polymer Modulator. Even if someone perfects a stable sensitive EO polymer when the want to do direct drive, they have to come knocking on Lightwaves door with cash in hand.
5.) For the 6 months leading up to last years annual shareholder meeting the shorts stated Lightwave could not close a commercial deal all the then like now trying to convince us that the sky was falling and once again Lebby delivered.
6.) For months the shorts said Lightwave could not use anything other than gold on their electrodes, well guess the F what, yup, once again (at the shareholders meeting) Lebby put up a slide of successful foundry runs and when asked by me if the contacts labeled AL on the slide stood for Aluminum Lebby said “yes, we use that any many other materials as well”. I asked about aluminum corrosion, the response was, X (you idiot) that is what the ALD will also protect.
7.) The Shorts were trying to convince longs that the foundry had not made progress on PDK’s, Lebby certainly blew them out of the water on that as well. As info PDK’s are process development kits, it is how the foundries make Lightwaves devices available to the public so when an NVDA’s, Amazon (AWS), Cisco or Fujitsu are designing devices they can check that box and add that to their device in the foundry. 2 weeks ago lebby said the foundries have thousands of modulators per wafer. On question that I need to understand is that with thousands of devices on a wafer how many of those thousands of modulators are affected by the kerf when dicing (sawing or scribing?)
8) The shorts used to say that it couldn’t me done now as you see Pumpkin is asking Yes but “What is the current sales pipeline for Lightwave Logic's polymer modulators? Can you share any details on the size and timing of potential deals with the 20+ major corporations that have viewed the technology demo? When do you anticipate Lightwave Logic will achieve its first $1 million revenue quarter? What milestones need to be hit to reach that level of quarterly sales? What is the company's plan to become cash flow positive and profitable? When do you expect Lightwave Logic to reach profitability?” Lol, Lol and again Lol It sounds like Pumpkin is finally being honest, perhaps it is by divine intervention on his posts
9) As info the institutions now own 26% of the shares, The shorts would have us believe that is irrelevant, wait what?
10) I like this, Ted who also has another ID said that he gets his info from the internet because everything on it is true. When asked why he does not use first-hand information he said that he is not good at reading people, lol and yet he watches every video with baited breath.
I know some do not see it but as evidenced by their latest efforts the shorts are worried and it is obvious that whomever they got their info from was consistently years behind making up issues that had in fact already been solved. I would not want to have been an advisor to the shorts.
Lightwave is finally at the stage where they have the patents in place, moved into additional lab space, hired additional lab personnel for making larger quantities of perkinamine, (a few fluid ounces can make thousands of devices) the new lab will be equipped to test larger quantities of chips coming back from foundries, work on new polymers for additional devices (they even have another polymer available for licensing) produce data sheets, standardize bulk testing, they have even hired a dedicated deal maker, oh also a V.P. dedicated just to working with foundries that are actively running wafers. Now they have added a former Intel deal maker to the board of directors.
Soon this thing will in fact snowball because the industry's "go to" good old silicon photonics has hit the wall it simply cannot run faster. Lightwaves material when added applied to Silicon triples the speed and because it is so sensitive it is 30times smaller and uses 1/10 the power all at a time when AI is pushing the amount of data processed by the data centers through the roof.
~Some of us were wondering why the Lightwave employees were still in town (apparently held over) for an extra 2 days over after the OFC San Frisco meeting, now we see that there were no less than 20 companies that apparently requested an unscheduled impromptu demo on a holiday week (good Friday) after the convention was over. Not only did Lightwave employees not go home but it sounds like a bunch of Tier 1’s and such saw it as important enough to see ASAP. And yes while many on here say that NDA’s do not exist, LOL I’ll bet that not only were NDA’s mandatory but I bet that every demo was “private” by scheduled appointment only and also attended by the various expert employees at Lightwave to get the most bang for the buck.~
Lightwave makes the thing that makes the component better anyone communicating using fiber optics needs it, the entire industry needs it. Think if BASF produces a chemical that makes paint last longer. Why would the paint manufacture tell its competitors what makes their paint so durable. Lightwave is going partner with many and they will simply sell devices that are faster and require less energy, those companies are not going to tell the competition what they do to make that happen. Lightwave will quietly market to the tier1's and they will insist on it in their data centers and devices. The one exception that I see is that if the foundry runs were paid for by Lightwave Logic (vs. say an amazon or facebook etc) Lightwave would do joint public PR of where the industry can order chips with Lightwaves Perkinamine on it (It is called checking the box on the PDK).
The shorting situation will be solved by additional Partnerships and look out when those Partnerships are accompanied by a dividend in a new 3rd party company licensing say the ability to develop the Lidar device market or for the biotech crowd a medical sensing partner, wham short situation solved in short order. Remember that currently they are only talking about Telcom 2km to 10km market but there are so many more.
Currently 1k difference between the buys and sells changed it 1 penny. Folks this is just normal trading without any pressure on the price. This time next week we’ll either be in the lab or in the meeting.
Still trying to digest the effects of T+1 on the shorts especially the foreign exchange rate, Fails To Deliver, Naked shorting etc. it is coming the Tuesday after Memorial Day (Holiday in the U.S., which is the weekend after the Shareholders Meeting), Finra Settlement Date 5/31 which then will mean a trade date of 5/30.
Short Game, Market Maker Game, Institution Game, changing technology
Check it out rainy day so I thought I’d look Punkin “I never said any of those things in that context. 7. Changes to the Friend Invite Process

  • In late March, I reported changes potentially come to the "friend invite" system
  • The PSA language reported at the time is now going to appear in the game from May 14th to June 4th
  • Beyond this, we know NOTHING....... when changes will occur is an unknown date .... what changes will actually be made are unknown ..... what rewards may be earned are unknown

bulk chocolate bars canada
Key Considerations When Buying Bulk Chocolate Bars for Resale:
  • Brand Recognition: Canadians have their favorite chocolate brands. Consider popular choices like Kinder, Hershey's, Mars, Kit Kat, Lindt, Snickers, and Cadbury. Offering familiar brands can attract customers and boost sales.
  • Variety is Key: Cater to diverse preferences by offering a variety of chocolate types, such as milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate, and options with nuts, caramel, fruit fillings, or wafers.
  • Seasonal Offerings: Seasonal chocolates like peppermint bark during the holidays or pumpkin spice varieties in fall can add a festive touch to your inventory and attract seasonal shoppers.
  • Portion Control: Consider offering a mix of full-size chocolate bars and smaller, single-serve options to cater to different needs and budgets.
  • Minimum Order Quantities: Be mindful of minimum order quantities (MOQs) set by some wholesalers. Ensure you have the storage space and projected sales to justify the bulk purchase.
  • Storage Requirements: Chocolate requires proper storage to maintain its quality and freshness. Choose wholesalers who ensure proper storage and transportation to guarantee your chocolate arrives in optimal condition.

  • Exceptional Customer Service: Our dedicated customer service team is always happy to answer your questions and assist you in finding the perfect bulk chocolate bars for your needs.
2. Wholesale Clubs:
Wholesale clubs like Costco and Sam's Club offer bulk deals on various products, including chocolate bars. These can be a cost-effective option, especially if you have the storage space and anticipate high sales volume. However, be aware of potential limitations:
  • Limited Selection: Wholesale clubs typically offer a smaller selection of chocolate brands and varieties compared to specialized candy wholesalers.
  • Large Minimum Order Quantities: Minimum order quantities can be high at wholesale clubs, making them less ideal for smaller businesses.
  • Seasonal Availability: Chocolate offerings at wholesale clubs may vary seasonally, so consistency might be an issue.
3. Online Marketplaces:
Online marketplaces like Alibaba or Amazon can connect you with various chocolate bar suppliers. While convenient, thorough research is crucial before buying:
  • Verify Supplier Reputation: Read reviews and check the supplier's track record before placing an order.
  • Minimum Order Quantities: Many online suppliers have minimum order quantities, which can be high.
  • Shipping Costs: Factor in shipping costs when comparing prices, as they can significantly impact your overall cost.
  • Import Regulations: If you're sourcing chocolate from outside Canada, familiarize yourself with import regulations and potential customs fees.
4. Food Distributors:
Food distributors typically cater to restaurants and businesses, and some may offer bulk chocolate bars. Here are some things to consider:
  • Account Requirements: Food distributors often require businesses to have an established account and meet minimum purchase requirements.
  • Focus on Bulk Ingredients: Food distributors might prioritize bulk chocolate in bulk packaging (like baking chocolate) rather than individual chocolate bars.
5. Local Candy Wholesalers:
Many Canadian cities have local candy wholesalers who specialize in supplying candy stores and bakeries. Here are the advantages:
  • Support Local Businesses: Buying from local wholesalers allows you to support your local community.
  • Personalized Service: Local wholesalers often offer personalized service and may be more flexible with order quantities.
  • Fresh Inventory: Local wholesalers typically have a faster turnaround time, ensuring fresher chocolate.
The Final Bite: Choosing the Right Bulk Chocolate Bar Supplier for You
The ideal source for bulk chocolate bars depends on your specific needs and business model. Consider factors like variety, pricing, minimum order quantities, storage capabilities, and desired level of customer service.

2024.05.14 06:26 lokito50 Flashing Asus TUF AX4200

Hi all, I've flashed openwrt on an asus RT N66U and recently a Linksys WRT1200AC and have quite liked Luci. I just got an asus tuf ax4200 and looked up how to flash openwrt on it and there's a couple of ways, one was using the asus wrt web gui and a trx file from the forum but this didn't work. The other is the tftp method. I've never done this and I'm at a loss, been trying to follow all kinds of guides and instructions online but it seems like there's no connection when I turned on the router and tftp64 running. Here's how I did it: Using windows 10 laptop only connected to ax4200, router is not connected to anything else. Disabled windows firewall Changed ipv4 settings to 192.168.1.66 Start tftp64.exe and then plug power into router, nothing happens. I've also tried it with the router in recovery mode but no joy. I've used tftp32 and nothing. Used pumpkin also and nothing. If someone could guide me here I'd greatly appreciate. I feel like I need babysitting for this router or will have to return it and get something that supports easier flashing methods. It was on sale for 120CAD. Thanks in advance

2024.05.14 01:55 lalaen Beginner’s Guide to Taobao

Would love to add more links, search terms and shopping service recs to this post! I am NA-based so anything specific to other countries highly appreciated.
Taobao is a Chinese marketplace-style website. Seeing as it is in Chinese and you need to use Chinese search terms and a shopping service, the learning curve is fairly steep compared to a lot of online shopping. I've been shopping on Taobao for 10 years, so here is my best attempt at helping you learn how. I live in Canada, so for those with experience specific to non-NA countries please let me know and I can add more info on that.
I use Chrome to browse Taobao, because it can automatically translate into English. I'll also have Google Translate open in a tab set to 'Chinese Simplified'. You WILL need to make a Taobao account in order to browse the site (they've gotten worse about this, you may find that you need to log back in if you leave your computer idle for too long). I believe you need your phone to scan a QR code for this. Now, you can go ahead and type your search term into Google Translate, copy and paste into the Taobao search bar, and you're ready to go. Taobao is also great at suggesting search terms (if you paste 'lolita', it'll offer you searches for lolita shoes, headwear, dresses etc)
I personally ctrl+click anything I want to see to open it in a new tab so I can compare as I go!
When you're looking at a listing there's a few things you should look at. - The price is in Chinese yuan. Usually my browser puts my local currency underneath it, but if that's not the case keep that in mind and use a currency converter. - In the top lefthand corner is the shop name and under it is the rating. The rating system is 1-5 hearts, then 1-5 diamonds, then silver crowns, then gold crowns. Diamonds and silver crowns are most common, this part seems largely based on number of sales. Be a little wary of stores with hearts - sometimes they're just new, or small handmade stores, but they're often poor quality/scammy. - Next to that, across the top bar, are 3 numbers that are usually 4.something. This is the rating customers have given the store. Anything under 4.6 is for sure pretty bad. - The right hand side of the bar has an 'enter the shop' button you can use to look at other stuff in the store
Make sure you look at the pictures in the listing. Ideally, they will be high quality and unique pictures, a nice set of them that shows images of all angles and details of the product. If you're searching around comparing different listings, you will notice a lot of them steal photos or use the same photos. These tend to be the listings you get a mass-produced, low quality product from... not always wish/temu quality, but often! Sometimes it's worth the risk, sometimes it isn't. You'll also start to notice a sort of 'floor' to the price/quality of various item types. If something is suspiciously cheap, there's usually a reason. 5$ wigs and 20$ JSKs are not going to be good, but 10-15$ wigs and 50-60$ JSKs are generally going to be nice, and if you spend 30 on a wig or 80-100 on a dress, you'll usually be really impressed with the quality.
A few more tips when picking out items: - You will need to pay domestic shipping to the shopping service, it's about 2$ but adds up if you're buying a lot of small items from different shops. Always check out the shop and see if there's anything else you'd like, especially if you're looking for a generic item. - Some items are preordedownpayment. Check with your shopping service to find out how they want these done if you'd like one, and make sure you find the 'final price' (usually listed near the top of the description) - The easiest way to browse stores is often clicking 'view all baby' which is 'all products'. - Most shopping services won't buy things with magnets, batteries or liquids. Some will, but will only ship them through the most expensive shipping methods, so be aware of that! They're also a bit weird about electronics and wooden items. - In case you're looking at cosplay stuff, prop weapons WILL be seized by customs! - Most clothing items include a measurement chart. It's in cm, and I usually use google translate on my phone to translate the photo (though admittedly I can recognize the character for bust measurement in context, by now lol). Shoe sizes are Chinese sizes, look up a comparison chart to find your size! - Really heavy things will be expensive to ship. - Some items are made to order and will take a lot longer to send to your shopping service. It will usually say it somewhere on the listing.
Once you know what you'd like to buy, it's time for the shopping service. I use Yoybuy, I find it trustworthy and easy to use. There's other good services, but I can't personally vouch for them. With Yoybuy, you simply paste the URL of the item you want into the search bar, and it loads up for you to add to your cart with the same options it had on Taobao. Fill your cart with your items and pay when you're ready. The order will then go through to purchasing, where you can watch and see when each item is successfully bought and shipped. Any issues with the purchasing/items in general will pop up in a chat next to the item, such as clarifying a colour option or telling you a size is out of stock. If you're in NA, all of the action is going to happen overnight. Some things will arrive in 1 or 2 days, some might take up to 2 weeks. Once your items arrive at the service, select them and submit them for shipping. You'll be able to pick from a variety of shipping services with a variety of price points and arrival times.
Shopping service tips: - Shopping services have a service fee. It's usually a percent of what you spend. Back when I started shopping, the ones with the lowest fees were usually difficult to use and/or had bad service, but ymmv. Generally speaking you pay the fee at the time of shipping. - Some services offer photos of items if you need them verified for some reason. They usually charge for this, but it is worth it if you're paranoid about a high ticket item. - Many services allow payment through Paypal, but Paypal is VERY picky about 'sensitive' or 'counterfeit' items. I literally have no idea what flags a lot of these items as sensitive, it seems at complete random to me. I recommend credit card for this reason - though I've heard some of the wire transfer services are preferable in other countries, and I've seen those widely accepted too. - Some shops on Taobao will ship internationally with no shopping service. It's my understanding that this isn't all shops, nor is it all countries they ship to, and they may not have representatives that speak any English, which you may or may not need. You can look into it if you only want things from one shop, but imo it's a lot more trouble than it's worth for people in Canada and the US.
Shipping tips: - It's hard to estimate shipping... freight/SAL used to be approximately 10usd/kg, but I'm pretty sure it's gone up. It will be expensive, but depending on the type of item it isn't that bad. I believe 30$ is the absolute minimum for China to NA. Some of the shipping services also do dimensional weight, so any bulky or long items will throw it off. I presume the shipping services available also depend on country. - Generally speaking, package insurance is optional. I've never lost a package, but I did have one disappear for a bit and I had one water damaged one. Insurance is under 20$ in my experience. - You will need to pick the value you're declaring the package for. I consistently under declare and have never had problems, but I try to keep it reasonable-ish. A 10kg box that's marked as worth 50usd is probably suspicious. - If you want to use SAL it's going to take at least 2 weeks, and it's really inconsistent. So definitely don't use it if you need anything for a certain date. - If you bought anything with liquids, magnets, electronics etc; separate them out and send less items with them. The shipping methods that accept them will be super expensive for anything with significant weight. Some countries may not allow import of these items at all.
Let's get into some fun stuff!

Two Recent Puzzle Hauls...a photo essay. (Includes my 27 library book sale puzzle acquisitions.)
I don't usually post the everyday puzzles that I acquire...you know, a small Amazon purchase here or a Facebook Market Place find there, but since I enjoy browsing what other people are acquiring in their puzzle haul posts, I felt like maybe others might like to hear about some of the puzzles that I recently added to my ever burgeoning collection.
I will begin by sharing a bit about the new puzzles that I ordered from Amazon on their May the 4th Star Wars sale. After completing the Ravensburger Gelini Challenge, I felt empowered to take on another challenge puzzle at some point. Since Amazon had a great deal, The Mandalorian ($10.99) looks like it will be my next foe! I also couldn't pass up the deals on two other Star Wars puzzles, both from Buffalo. The four-pack (Manufactured in China) was just $7.99 and the Comic Book Collage (Manufactured in USA) was $5.99. I enjoy puzzling comic art, so this last one is a puzzle that I'm really looking forward to.
Amazon haul
I realize the vibrantly-coloured Buffalo Aimee Stewart puzzle seems oddly out of place in this collection. I'm sure we have all had that one puzzle that accidentally fell into our Amazon carts at one point or another. Perhaps you needed a few more dollars to get free shipping. You could have added something practical, like a tube of toothpaste, to bring your total up, but then you make the only correct choice there is and add a puzzle instead. Look at it as an investment in your well-being. My "oops!" puzzle was an easy decision to make. After having had such a wonderful time with "Cookies and Cocoa," (I think it was one of my favourite puzzles of the past year!), I just had to get "Tea and Cookies" as well. I anticipate it being equally as enjoyable, and this time, I will do my best to get a photo of it before I dump it all over the floor!
The second part of my haul comes via our town library's spring book sale.
You may remember awhile back when I was given a sneak peek at the puzzles that had accumulated for the book sale. While the pile looked like a lot, I was a little worried that there wouldn't be any good puzzles left by the time the actual sale rolled around, as the Friends of the Library had been carrying some puzzles upstairs to sell ahead of time in one of their pop-up sales.
The puzzle stacks from two months ago
Well, all of that worrying was for nothing, as that was then and this is now! A friend again gave me a sneak peek, just before the sale was set up, and this is what was available to go out on the sale tables. It is a different collection in some respects, but still plenty of puzzles to go around. There is a real treasure lurking in there, which I did not notice AT ALL when I took the photo. See if you can spot it! 👀 (Hint: The answer will be revealed in Group 5 below.)
Puzzle stacks right before being set out for the sale.
My son was volunteering, so I also got to snap a quick photo of the puzzles once they were all placed on tables in anticipation of the Friday/Saturday sale.
Puzzle tables nearly ready for sale.
And now, here we are! The moment you have all been waiting for! The library book sale.
When I attend a book sale like this, I feel both anticipation and dread. I am excited by all of the new puzzle possibilities, but the reality is that I get very overwhelmed when faced with a lot of options in a rush situation. My brain can no longer seem to focus on or process items, so my instincts are to either grab everything I see or nothing at all.
I was feeling particularly anxious when presented with this precarious plethora of puzzles (too much??? 😀), so I used one of my lifelines and cold-called a puzzle-loving friend of mine. We eventually switched to video so that she could help me make my selections. It was a whole lot of me holding a puzzle up to the camera, waiting for a response and then quickly moving on to the next box, while using a flaky internet connection. This person quite literally saved me from making some poor puzzle choices (though I am stubborn and still brought home a few of those) and pointed out some great ones to me as well. She shrieked with me over the wonderful finds and at times questioned my insistence on picking up others. I owe her big time! I should likely give her first pick from the selections we made together. In the end, I came home with 29 puzzles for my collection.
The puzzles you are about to see are not grouped in any particular order. I am simply posting them as they came off my camera roll. Everything was priced at $1 per puzzle.
Group 1
  • Eboo "Swedish Fishing Village." I have never done an Eboo before, can you believe it? Not likely my first choice of images, but it will do.
  • Springbok "It's a Tie!" Only the second round puzzle in my entire collection--both Springboks. Date on the box says 2020 so I'm wondering what I might inadvertently release when I open the lid.
  • White box "Lion Wooden Puzzle." I didn't even show this puzzle to my friend because I would have been able to hear her eyes roll back in her head at my selection. The box was totally crushed. I KNOW it's a "nothing" brand. I should have likely just put it back, but I opened the box and the pieces seemed decently made with some whimsies peeking back at me, so I brought it home for $1. It doesn't have a title, location of manufacture, bar code, piece count, warnings about tiny pieces, or any other identifying features, but it does have a difficulty level of 6A Challenger, whatever that means. I say, "Challenge accepted!"
  • Springbok Majestic "Lakeside." Not my typical choice for subjects, but a 500-piece wooden Springbok? I'm game to try that once!
  • Galison "Joy LaForme Winter Lights 12 Days of Puzzles." I was a little bit torn over this selection, both literally and figuratively. I absolutely love the puzzle images on these. The previous owner had carefully bagged up each puzzle individually, BUT the perforated doors that needed to be opened each day to access the puzzle were shredded. That was not enough to deter me from giving these puzzles a try this upcoming December. This is another selection where I sensed I would have been hit with a heavy eye roll, so I just snuck them into my bag unannounced.
Group 2
  • White Mountain "I Love New England." When I held this puzzle up, my friend told me I HAD to get it! It's New England!
  • Cobble Hill "Mid Mod Season's Greetings." I love Christmas and this just seemed like a great composition to puzzle.
  • Ravensburger "Bizarre Bookshop." I have done one other Colin Thompson puzzle, but it was a "cupboard" puzzle, not a "shop" puzzle.
  • Laurence King "The World of Shakespeare." The copy of "Jane Austen" that I completed was one that was not published in the Netherlands. I would like to give this one a try to see how the two puzzles compare. My friend told me to expect this one to be "intricate."
Group 3
  • Ravensburger "The Craft Cupboard." I previously completed "The Gardener's Cupboard" as A Review in Two Voices alongside u/NoDistrict8179. I loved the little details in that one and I'm not even a gardener, so imagine my excitement when the theme is now colourful crafts!
  • Castorland "Afternoon Tea." I haven't had the opportunity to puzzle a Castorland from Poland yet. I had previously seen this puzzle listed on our town's Facebook page where people can give away puzzles, books, or games they no longer want. I am assuming this may be the same puzzle making the rounds. The original poster commented something along the lines of " Yes, the snow-covered glass is as big a pain in the posterior as you think it will be." (paraphrased) Now I'm a little concerned.
Group 4
  • Buffalo Games "Lars Stewart Swiss Train Ride." I'm not entirely sure why I brought this home??? I have a feeling that I was just like, "Oooh! Colourful Buffalo!" and added it to my pile. I highly doubt I will end up doing this one and think that I will pass it along to someone else.
  • Re-Marks "Vintage Signs." Another brand that I have yet to try. The colours looked bright and it seemed like it would be an easier puzzle to complete.
  • Ceaco "Marjolein Bastin." These watercolour images always remind me of my mom, who had at least a couple of these images framed on her walls. I'm not a big Ceaco fan, but I think I can get through 300 pieces for this colourful, nostalgic puzzle.
  • Buffalo Games "Pine Sanctuary." Not my typical puzzle choice, but the image called to me. At 1000-pieces, I would have left this behind, but at 500-pieces, I am happy to bring it home so we can discuss why it captures my attention so.
  • Colorcraft "Cat on the Shelf." Ever since I found out that Colorcraft is no longer producing puzzles, I have been looking for some of the more eye-catching images to collect. My helpful puzzle friend said, "Do you really like that image???" and I replied, "Yes! Black cat! That's all I need to see." (We don't always have the same taste in puzzles and I tend to buy puzzles now and make decisions about whether I will really puzzle them later.)
  • Ravensburger "Cozy Cabin." Another puzzle that I'm sort of on the fence about image-wise, but will definitely puzzle some day when I am desperate. I have other images that I am more excited about, but I enjoy a good Ravensburger from time to time due to their familiarity and consistency.
Group 5
  • Wentworth "Village Sledging." This is it. This is the moment that I gave an audible gasp, which my puzzle friend mirrored with a gasp of her own the second she saw what I was holding. This moment right here is why I called her. Everyone should have a puzzle partner who understands the excitement of finding a Wentworth or any other "white whale" puzzle and is just as thrilled for you as if they had found it themselves. I never thought that I would see a puzzle like this show up in our small town library.
Group 6
  • Springbok "Six String Symphony." Just look at this behemoth! I have never seen or held a 2000-piece Springbok before and I was shocked at how much this thing weighed when I picked it up. (3 pounds 7.5 ounces for those who are wondering!) The box is 14"x14" and 2-inches deep! I don't do many puzzles over 1000-pieces, but this one will definitely hit the table at some point. Such a fabulous illustration.
Group 7
I hope you have had some time to get over the excitement of the Wentworth, because this is where things started getting exciting for me again, as I came across a handful of Wysocki images. I think that Young Patriots is going to be a real favourite!
  • Buffalo Games "Charles Wysocki Americana Collection: Waterfall Valley."
  • Buffalo Games "Charles Wysocki Proud Lil' Angler." Newer and just 300 large pieces, but still fun for a quick puzzling session.
  • Buffalo Games "Charles Wysocki Americana Collection: Young Patriots."
  • Buffalo Games "Prairie Wind Flowers."
Group 8
  • Mattel "Jane Wooster Scott Boise River Festival." This is just a really fun image. I have admired puzzles by this artist when other people have posted them, but this is the first time I have actually had one of my own to do.
  • Milton Bradley "Charles Wysocki Pumpkin Hollow." Those rows of pumpkins look fun to puzzle, don't they?
Group 9
  • Relish "Lakeside Vacation." This 63-piece puzzle is promoted as a dementia jigsaw. When I first flipped the box lid open, I was impressed with the thickness of the pieces and the fact that the puzzle can be built right in the box if someone really wanted to. What I was most excited about using it for though, was a game of puzzle chess, where instead of starting with the border done, like you would for a larger puzzle, you simply start and build from one random piece (giving each person an equal number of turns). I like this smaller size for playing with kids and was hoping to find a couple of puzzles that might work for this activity.
  • Buffalo Games "Droids." After helping to write the Buffalo Games Star Wars Puzzle list, you would think that I would have had enough of this kind of puzzle, but I couldn't pass up owning the three cutest droids in the galaxy!
Group 10
A couple of late contenders here. I didn't pick them up on my first pass, but when I went back to the table later and they were still there, I decided to bring them home.
  • Ceaco "A Profusion of Posies" + some kind of mystery puzzle. I lifted the lid off the box to see what the puzzle was like, since the box said, "Corkboard Silhouette." When I did that, I saw the cork-backed pieces, but there was another puzzle in a zip top bag in there as well. Now I'm super curious exactly what that one might be. It doesn't look like more than 200 pieces or so, so I think it should be easy to assemble if everything is there.
  • Ravensburger "Skandinavische Idylle Scandinavian." I originally passed this over because I am just not a landscape-type of puzzler. However, seeing this image get passed over by a number of people, I finally went back and picked it up. It's hard for me to refuse the Siren's call of a 500-piece Ravensburger, no matter what the subject matter is.
I'm sure that after all of this puzzle talk, many of you are wondering if I purchased any, you know, actual books at the BOOK sale. Why, how lovely of you to ask! Yes, I did happen to pick up a few bits to keep me entertained in the off chance that I'm not puzzling. Maybe you can figure out one of the other hobbies I enjoy from this selection.
Actual books that I purchased from the sale. (The book that doesn't have a title on the cover is The Flavor Bible.)
That's it. I'm at the bottom of my puzzle haul bag!
Enjoy your weekend, everyone! Thanks for reading!
