I had a very creepy experience when I was 9 and my oldest brother and a friend decided to use me to play the board while they told me what to say and ask.
I remember bits and pieces of it. Nit the whole entire event. Event is exactly what it was. My brothers friend had be studying demonology at university when his professor had raffled a oujia board off. Not a normal board one bought in a market in the middle east it was old made of wood. He had the best grade at the end of the semester and knew my brother would be down to play and so he brought it to our house. For reference my brother is 10 yrs older than me. Anyway when he won it the professor explained that virgins are ideal to handle the board. Blood also helped virgin blood. He at first took it as a joke and then the more he thought he decided to use yours truly. He knew I would not scare easy and would have fun with it. Even at that age I loved tales from the crypt and nightmare on elm street.
So we go into my brother's bedroom a converted garage. They lite candles and sat it up on a card table. I remember them telling me it was make believe and trying to down play it's seriousness. I am sure the it's a game was incase I told my mother. She would be more concerned then normal as our background is a little bizarre, my grandfather a very Irish man was raised in the mountains and raised to practice druidism. Which he did tell he died.
Anyways "game" was set up I remember starting it out slightly and his friend spoke in I think Latin prior to use starting the board the standard way. I can not recall the whole thing but the entity I spoke with was answering it was easy to tell as I was 9 like barely 9 or almost 9. I am Dyslexic. And that would mean I spelled backwards . At least for me the words I could spell correct were backwards. So when she started to respond it was very clearly not me the only one touching the board. My brother and his friend were reading out loud the stuff she was spelling to use since I couldn't read it. She claimed to also be a little girl age 9. Rebecca. Or so she claimed. But she was trapped in hell and was scared. She could get out but needed my help. She needed my body, but I had to agree. At that point my brother stepped in and said the game was over. He had been saying when she claimed to be a little girl he told me remember it's a game but the game can lie to you she's is not really a kid because kids can't go to hell , right. But once she needed well 'me' he knows longer wanted me to play. He went to take the board from under my hands he seemed angry. The board didn't move and oddly I could hear her now. But she didn't sound right. It was a child like voice but n something was wrong. And I told my brother that she was mad he was stopping us playing. She was trying to push the no one here plays with me tell me you want to co.e here and play,you do don't you? I don't remember much but the feeling like dread it was the.most scared I have been in my life. And it came out of nowhere the second she said to tell her I want to go there. I know he and his friend hot the board away and his friend was on out house phone screaming at the professor asking how to.stop what was happening the I felt frozen. I dont recall all the rest and what i do i have a hard time believing so why would you. but I remember the next day and my brother woke me up, I do not remember going to bed at all. He said what did you dream and when I told him I had a bad dream and it had Rebecca he said he didn't know what I was talking about we had not played a game. I felt stupid most of the day. least until I walked into the back yard just outside my brothers room in the old metal oil drum the drum was normally used as a fire pit . But inside was a partial burned wooden oujia board, and I had dreams/ nightmaresshe wanted me to go back she then would scream at me. Eventually it stopped which was the time we moved out of the house so who's know if it was the "game" so you tell me!

So I have been dating my gf for almost a year now. It’s been good so far, I mean we’ve had our rocky days but we always got past it. Yesterday, I was texting her to tell her about my day at school when she texts me back and says she’s with a friend and sends me a picture of her next to a guy on the bus. I asked who he was, and she ignores completely leaving my text on read. I text and emoji still left on read. I then look at her notes and see that she posted waiting for (the guys name). Hell she doesn’t even post me or my name at all and I text her to ask how long have they known each other, she leaves that on read as well. About an hour later, she sends me a picture wearing a jacket I never saw her in. I asked her where she got it from and she said that he gave it to her. At this point I’m in my “What the fuck” moment and proceed to tell her that this guy likes her, I mean honestly what guy do you know is gonna give a jacket to a girl he doesn’t like? She tells me that it’s from his ex, and that he gave it to her because they went for a run. My whole thing is she would be livid if I took an accessory from another female let alone, she doesn’t like me having female friends to which I only have 1 or 2 that I only talk to every so often. My whole thing is, I’m not there with her and he is and the chances of them getting closer can increase. I don’t know what to do and I’m at a loss.

Hey all - I pulled a 2020 Haliburton Prism Silver Penmanship out of a Walmart tin last night. Card looks like it's pretty nice to me - centered, no marks, good corners and edges, signature is solid. Seems to be selling for $250-$500 with a good grade and I think this is an easy 9, maybe a 10.
I don't really know much about grading since I've never sent a card to be graded before, so a couple questions:
1) Does it even make sense to grade this card or should I sell it raw?
2) Is PSA the default recommendation? They seem like they have a pretty long turnaround time which scares me off a little...but if that's the best then OK.

Hi all .
I'm planning on laying a 12mm laminate flooring on top of my suspended timber ground floor and looking for advice on underlay placement. Should I be laying a DM/vapour control radiant barrier on top of the floorboards before laying a XPS foam underlay then fitting the laminate? I'm reading mixed opinions on the vapour barrier being more detrimental than beneficial due to impacts on breathability. The floor is currently covered with carpet and a what seems to be a foam/rubberised underlay and this seems to have not caused any problems, I'm scared of switching it up might encourage damp/rot of the subfloor in future.
I've checked and there is a significant amount of airflow from the air bricks around the house but the subfloor is very close to the suspended floor 1 or 2 foot at most between them .
Has anyone done anything similar to this ? Any recommendations on underlay for something like this ?

Some context, I'm currently serving NS (won't go into detail but I'm stay out so I have quite a lot of free time) and I just graduated from JC, and I am a very paranoid fella who yes I got 2 years but I know I confirm very fast fall behind if I don't start prepping
Earlier today I looked through some blogs and reddit posts for advice and the gist of what I read was revise some maths and maybe start self-learning Python, but I'm kinda interested in finding out more in depth into what I could do to prepare as those blogs etc were quite outdated and like no explanation at all yk plus it had like absolutely no advice on that Business major too LOL
If anyone's willing to share their experience into this double major nonsense, please do, and if you have any advice for how to prepare myself, maybe in depth into what H2 math subjects to study, or anything at all I can start doing to prep, genuinely anything is appreciated

Hello,
I have setup a policy for device control, using 2 reusable settings a few months ago. It used to work perfectly fine until the "known issue" referenced here in March. Now after updating platform (4.18.24030.9 or 4.18.24040.4), I have a problem where my reusable settings are not correctly copied to the devices registry keys.
In details :

• 1 reusable setting with all removable storage "A"
• 1 reusable setting with specific USB devices identified by SerialNumber, VID, InstancePathID, ... "B"
• Rule 1 blocks and audit all except specific (included ID "A", excluded ID "B"), access mask read/write/execute
• Rule 2 allows and audit specific USB devices (included ID "B"), access mask read/write/execute

On the device side, I can see the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Policy Manager "PolicyGroups" only contains reusable setting "A"
Also, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Policy Manager "PolicyRules" is correct and even refers to a group ID for reusable setting "A".
Any idea why the registry key "PolicyGroups" does not sync correctly ?
At the moment MS support has not been helpful.

My spouse is a US citizen and I am a French citizen (no dual citizenship). We will be living in France soon and wondering about taxes regarding dividends and capital gains, as we have a sizeable portfolio in the US.
After carefully reading the consolidated tax treaty on the French taxes website (https://www.impots.gouv.fsites/default/files/media/10_conventions/etats-unis/etats-unis_convention-avec-les-etats-unis-impot-sur-le-revenu-impot-sur-la-fortune_fd_1835.pdf), I wanted to double check with Reddit (specifically american expats in France) that I understood things correctly.
The first few articles say that outside of US retirement accounts and US real estate, we would be subject to tax in the country of residence (France).
However, Article 24 (b) about "removing double taxation" specifies this:

1. En ce qui concerne la France, les doubles impositions sont éliminées de la manière suivante.

This article seems clear that we would have to file in both countries, but there would be a full tax credit for all FRENCH taxes (the higher ones) due in France for US citizens who are residents of France (my husband), which led us to believe that we would be paying only the US tax and just have to submit the tax return to France along with our french tax form. We would be essentially paying our taxes in the US at 0% LTCG instead of 30% french flat tax.
Is that correct? And if so, how does that work when only one of the spouses is a US citizen (my husband) and the other is not? Does it change anything?
Also, if that is indeed how it works, what about the "cotisations sociales" ? Those are the majority of the flat tax (17.2%). Do these also get cancelled for US citizens?
What about PUMA (6.5%)? Would we have to pay PUMA if we have no employment income in France?
If anyone is a US expat in France with capital gains and dividends from US brokerage accounts, could you enlighten us, please?

I'm in a bit of a reading rut and need some help.
First off, I should have never read ACOTAR because it has forever put my bar standard too high. I wouldn't even call ACOTAR super spicy/steamy, but gosh the writing was a chef's kiss. So, after reading that I tried others and it has been one after the other of just ugh.
Here's what I've read so far and why I didn't keep going or didn't like them or what I've finished, but I could use some recommendations. I want good writing, but also need some spice haha. It seems like whatever I find with spice is absolutely horrible writing or vice-versa.
From Blood & Ash - Made it to the end of book 3 and was about to lose my mind. Armentrout is a good writer, BUT she drags it out because it's like she purposely wants a 6-book series for something that could be done tastefully in three books.
A Shadow in the Ember (the Blood and Ash prequels) - Loved Sera way more than Poppy, but yet again, Armentrout drags it out and I'm like omg. I've read all that's out for it, but still, the fact she's making another book is killing me.
Ever King - I quit about 30% in. Maybe I shouldn't have given up so quickly, but something about it wasn't jiving for me.
Throne of Glass - Okay it's just too tame for me. I like the writing though, but need some spice.
King of Battle and Blood - Read the 1st book and while this definitely had some spice, I was just meh over the story line and the entire story line was a little weird. The audible narration is awful. could the narrator sound anymore bored of her life?
The Plated Prisoner Series - Got 50% through the first book and couldn't go any further without wanting to just cry. Sigh.
Court of Shadows (Shadow Fae) - Not bad, but didn't get super spicy until the third book and the main character was so wish washy all the time.
Court of Ravens and Ruin - Got half way through the first book and it was just weird.
Thorns of Frost - Finished first book and started second, but I mean aside from one hot make out scene in the first book I'm like okay now she's competing for him in Trials and it's marketed as a steamy fantasy, but I dunno how Book 1 is considered "steamy" at all?
Rhapsodic - Read the first book but the back story was getting tiresome and how clothes just magically take themselves off was a little weird haha.
What Lies Beyond the Veil - Very weird book and creeps you out at how he keeps referring her to something like a child while, well, doing what they do.
A Ruin of Roses - Super weird from the start. A Beauty and the Beast trope that is just written so weird. I honestly quit like 20% in -- does it get better?
Never After Series - The one off books are great, a little extreme at times lol, but hey they worked.
Sooooo guess I'm looking for a book that has the spice of Blood & Ash (it was nice, tasteful) and gave you good gulps in between story, but the writing close to ACOTAR (no one can match sigh) without weird story lines, but I mean I just want something I can dive into and really immerse myself in and not spend 700 pages only to realize that it was a waste haha.
I spent all last night reading Thorns of Frost only to get incredibly frustrated at the end and not starting Book 2 since I'm worried the author really doesn't know what steamy means, but want to avoid this slump. I just keep reading books and then I feel like well, what a nice waste of 10+ hours.

Regarding fl's mother there's only two chapters it's say that fl's mother is kind but she ran away with the man she loved and fl said herself she doesn't want to see her parents bcz she didn't even know them that's all which doesn't feel sad bcz her mother is at fault and fl herself said so who are we to question her
2nd think is fl is smart and have her own power she doesn't need anyone she can do most of thinks herself
(Note...I will like that author create orphan fl or have bad mother so we can concentrate/enjoy on main plot sometime it's goes on so much depth of emotion that we forgot story and thinking of fl's mother all week or month(specially me🙂‍↔️)
