| Champion Class: Specialist Mage -> Juggernaut Role: Top/Mid Resource: Backbone Forward Atma, (pronounced like aath-maa and meaning "breath" in Sanskrit) is my take at a courageous coward. What's a courageous coward? Well I think of a courageous coward as someone who is cowardly and easily frightened, but still chooses to fight and confront adversity despite being afraid. They just need some time to gain some backbone before fighting. Atma actually has 2 forms (similar to Gnar). Each form has a different playstyle as Atma is a cowardly mage in his Brittle Form and a resolute juggernaut in his Forged Form. Atma switches from a coward to a brave warrior after gaining max courage (Backbone), at which point he unsheathes his very spine to use in battle. His spine? Yes. His brittle spine was reforged by Ornn himself into the Forgefire Kanabo he wields today. Read the lore to find out more! The idea of Atma's Brittle Form is to be a mobile mage that gains Backbone by dodging skillshots and landing ranged abilities and attacking froma safe distance - Atma is too scared to fight up close but he still fights in his own way aha. Running away and trying to survive is still brave to me - its better than standing still and accepting defeat at least :P Although he himself is brittle in this form, his abilities also apply brittle to enemies, possibly immobilizing them a bit longer (giving him more time to run away!). Eventually he gains enough Backbone to be able to unsheathe his Kanabo from his back and enter his Forged Form. The idea of the Forged Form is to be an aggressive Juggernaut with high amounts of melee damage and healing. This form has great catching potential, especially if the enemy was brittled while Atma was in his Brittle Form. Once a frightful coward who would haphazardly cough up smoke, now Atma is a tenacious berserker who wants all the smoke - and fire too! Appearance Tall, medium build, young man, black charred and scorched skin, long red-orange hair in a ponytail like a wildfire, orange eyes, fireproof black leather pants, blacksmith's apron, Agnisha emblem, Kanabo handle sticking out from his back behind his head. In Brittle form he hunches his spine into a cowardly posture, and his hair is let down in front of his face, turning more and more ashy gray as his backbone drops. In Forge form, he stands up straight and confident and his hais and eyes glow a bright red-orange as his backbone increases. AI Image for reference: Before After Applicable Contest Prompts Contrasting Parts: Make a champion that fulfills two contrasting archetypes Atma is a mage/juggernaut with very different playstyles based on his form. To oversimplify, his kit is basically a "wait/ go" playstyle. While the brittle form can still deal quite a bit of damage, its main function is to survive enemy engages, as well as "set up" by applying brittle, and finally to gain backbone all the while to enter his forged form. His Forged form is where Atma shines, gaining incredible kill and survival potential. A Story Through Action: Make a champion whose kit tells their story and character I tried my best to embed the courageous coward into his kit and playstyle as much as I could. His gernation of Backbone requires him to be in battle to gain Backbone, meaning the player has to be brave enought to attack and dodge abilities to gain backbone. The story of Atma is one of fear and courage. He is scared and yet does his best to survive, he will not give up. And when he finally gains enough courage and backbone he becomes the warrior he knew he always was, attacking aggressively and recklessly without doubt. I tried to add subtle things to make the player understand the change in Atma throughout the game. Like in brittle form his dash ability is actually a short self fear with increased movement speed. And in forged form that ability is a self-berserk with increased movement speed. I'm sure its probably best to make it a dash with animations that communicate this, but this is more fun. Other things that show his story was that in brittle form his abilities use smoke. The smoke is a result of Atma's fear causing him to be unable to breath properly with his new Steelforged Lungs (read the lore!), coughing up smoke. But in Forged form, each breath is calm, deep, and intentional resulting in the accumulation of forgefire in his body instead. Cowardly smoke/ Unextinguishable Forgefire. Tell Me A Story: Connect your champion to other champions already in the universe, and include game mechanics that tie their stories to gameplay Connected to Ornn and his Hearthblood, but not sure if the brittle mechanic apply and proc is sufficient for the second half. Regardless, I had a lot of fun making the lore this time around so thanks for giving this prompt! Lore: An Inextinguishable Flame TLDR: Atma is an Agnisha, a decendent of the last surviving Hearthblood. One day Agnisha village is radied by the Winter's Claw and all Agnisha's are killed, including Atma's master, Marnn, who made Atma's Kanabo. Since Atma just watched in fear as his village was killed he feels guilt and hatred to wards himself for being such a coward. Remembering his master's words he travels to the howling abyss where Ornn and Volibear clashed, and nearby he wishes to go to hearth-home the closest place he has to a home. Instead he is attacked by a Spirit Ram, ends up getting completely scorched and on the brink of death. But his defiance to live unleashes a burst of forgefire, immediately letting Ornn know that Atma is a descendent of his friends the Hearthbloods. Ornn ends up saving Atma's life and replaces his now brittle spine with the Kanabo. Ornn teaches Atma how to wield his Kanabo saying that only a truly courageous person can unsheath it. And so Atma trains with Ornn to one day get his revemge against Sejuani and the Winter's Claw. But he is still a coward at heart, so this journey will be very difficult. Kit: Please assume the numbers are balanced, thank you🙏 Also, reminder that Brittle is a status effect that reduces tenacity by 30%. Shared Kit Innate: Inextinguishable Flame of Agnisha - Atma has 2 Forms (Brittle Form and Forged Form) with their own set of unique abilities with unique cooldowns. Atma spawns and respawns in his Brittle Form.
Innate: Unrelenting Backbone - Atma generates Backbone as his secondary resource, generating 10 Backbone whenever he deals or receives damage (doubled against champions). While at 100 Backbone, Atma's next ability cast will make Atma switch to his Forged Form and cast. While in his Forged Form or upon exiting combat for 5 seconds, Atma loses 20 Backbone per second. Upon reaching 0 backbone he reverts back to Brittle Form.
- Atma gains Tenacity based on his current Backbone, regardless of Form.
Tenacity: 4%/5%/6%/7% per 10 Backbone @ lvls 1/6/11/16 Brittle Form Kit: Innate: Brittle Backbone - Atma is permanently Brittle and his damaging abilities apply Brittle to enemies for 3 seconds. Atma's attack range is 550.
Q: Coughing Fit - Active: Atma enters a fit of coughs, coughing 3 times over 1 second, firing an orb of hot smoke in a line with each cough. Each orb stops upon colliding with the first enemy hit, dealing physical damage.
- Each consecutive cough deals 25% less damage and has less range. Enemies hit by 2 orbs are slowed for 1 second, enemies hit by 3 orbs are rooted for 1 second instead.
Note: Dance of the Frail can be cast during this ability. Physical Damage: 50/75/100/125/150 (+60% AD) Cooldown: 10/9/8/7/6 seconds Range: 900 (reduced by 300 range for each consecutive cough) W: Choke n' Smoke - Active: Atma gasps, quickly inhaling over the cast time. Afterwards, Atma suddenly coughs spewing a cone of hot smoke dealing physical damage to enemies it passes through.
- The smoke remains for 2 seconds, covering a circular area over time and granting Atma stealth while within it. Enemy champions have obscured vision of Atma while they are also within the smoke.
Physical Damage: 80/120/160/200/240 Cooldown: 18/16/14/12/10 Radius: 300 E: Dance of the Frail This ability's active effect will only be successfully cast if an enemy unit or enemy ability-projectile is within Atma's proximity range at the time of the cast. Otherwise this ability will fail and go on cooldown. - Passive: Atma gains 20 Backbone whenever he dodges an enemy ability-projectile within his proximity range.
- Active: Atma fears himself for 0.5 seconds moving in the target direction, setting his movement speed to 1200 during the fear duration.
- Atma's fear will end prematurely if he would walk into another enemy unit during the fear duration. When this occurs, this ability's cooldown is reset.
Note: Since Atma has decreased Tenacity in this form (brittle), the fear duration will actually be a bit longer than 0.5 seconds while his Backbone is low. Cooldown: 10 Seconds Proximity Range: 220/240/260/280/300 R: Coward's Hesitation No active in this form. Forged Form Kit: Innate: Reforged Backbone - When Atma or a nearby ally immobilize a Brittled enemy champion, the immobilizer steals a % of their armor and magic resist. - Atma's Kanabo Swing and basic attacks against Brittled enemies pull them slightly towards Atma (like Ornn mini-knockback but mini-pull instead).

- Recast: Kanabo spins in place exhaling a torrent of Forgefire in a small circle around him which deals physical damage. Afterwards, Kanabo heals himself for a % of the stored Inner Flame.

- Active: Atma berserks himself for 0.5 seconds moving towards a target enemy unit, setting his movement speed to 1200 during the berserk duration. If Atma would get in proximity range of the target during the berserk duration, this ability can be recast as Kanabo Smash to end the berserk duration.
- Kanabo Smash: Atma slams his Kanabo straight down in front of him dealing physical damage. Brittled or Shattered enemies hit by the Kanabo are also stunned for 1 second.
Note: Since Atma has increased Tenacity in this form, the duration will be even shorter than 0.5 seconds basically making it a very short dash while his Backbone is high, but making it a short dash when his backbone is very low. Physical Damage: 80/110/140/170/200 (+50% AD) Cooldown: 10 seconds Proximity Range: 220/240/260/280/300 R: Horn of the Ram Spirit - Active: Atma inhales over the cast time gaining displacement immunity, focusing Forgefire at the tip of his Kanabo, making it take the shape of a Ram's Horn.
- Atma thrusts forward with his Kanabo applying brittle to the first enemy for 3 seconds and dealing physical damage to them over the brittle duration. The tip of the Kanabo will drag the colliding enemy over the thrust. If the enemy would collide with a wall during the thrust, they are stunned for 1 second.
- If used at 100 Backbone, Atma will dash a short distance during the thrust.
Note: If the enemy would Shatter during the brittle duration, the damage is increased by 30% and is dealt instantly. Afterwards, Atma generates 40 Backbone. 五四运动是如此(这事儿大伙儿应该挺熟悉),文革时期的
四五运动是如此(这事儿大伙儿应该较陌生),89年的“六四运动”亦如此。此规律不仅适用于天朝,老外也一样(不信请看今年中东流行的“茉莉花革命”)。 所以,今天俺要跟大伙儿聊一聊:在1989年的年初,天朝社会所呈现出来的山雨欲来风满楼之势。

★全球政治形势——共产阵营开始瓦解
先说说89年的国际政局。跟天朝关系最密切的大概就是:共产主义阵营开始土崩瓦解。
◇苏联
共产阵营的瓦解,首先开始于苏联。 大伙儿都知道,当时的苏共总书记是戈尔巴乔夫(脑门上有胎记的那哥们)。他面对苏联内外交困的局面,被迫推行政治改革。在1988年夏天的苏共党代会上,戈同学提出了苏联的改革应沿着深入且持续的民主方向前进。同年,戈同学还宣布释放苏联所有的政治犯,并且为斯大林在历次大清洗中的遇难者建立纪念碑(说到大清洗,苏联的斯大林、纳粹的希特勒以及及天朝的毛太祖,并称20世纪三大刽子手)。 到了1989年的3月份,苏联进行了一次具有历史意义的全国大选(类似天朝的人大代表选举)。其重大意义在于:自十月革命以来,第一次允许共产党以外的政党参加选举。那次大选中,苏共的保守派候选人多有落选,反而像叶利钦这种激进改革派以高票(89.4%)当选。另外,很多知名的党外民主人士(比如萨哈罗夫)也高票当选。很明显,苏共作为执政党,已经失去了很多民心。 除了允许党外人士参加人民代表选举,戈同学的另外一个重大举措是:放弃对东欧国家的控制。按照当时苏联外交部发言人的说法:让每个国家决定自己的道路。原先东欧那些个社会主义国家,大都是苏联老大哥的附庸国。好几个东欧小国,都是靠着苏联的武力来维持共产党的统治。一旦苏联放弃干预,东欧的共产党就纷纷垮台。
◇波兰
在东欧剧变中,波兰共产党(全称是波兰统一工人党,以下简称波共)是第一个倒下的多米诺骨牌,它是被波兰的
团结工会击败的。 团结工会成立于1980年,在八十年代的大部分时间,它一直是非法组织,只能在地下活动。到了1988年,由于失去了苏联这个靠山,波共再也无法压制团结工会,只好承认其合法地位。于是团结工会就从地下组织变为公开活动,并迅速壮大。到了1989年,波兰的1200万工人中约有900万人加入团结工会。 顺便说一下,波兰在1989年6月4日举行全国大选,团结工会彻底击败波共。而就在同一天,在地球的另一边,另一个共产政权调动野战部队,开始在自己的首都杀人...
◇匈牙利
在那年2月,匈牙利政府宣布为1956年的
匈牙利事件平反,并称其为“人民起义”。在平反之前,所有的社会主义国家都把匈牙利事件定性为,反革命暴乱(天朝对“六四事件”也是这么定性的)。匈牙利政府的这一声明,着实让天朝政府尴尬。因为当年就是天朝的毛太祖极力怂恿,才让苏联总书记赫鲁晓夫下定决心出兵匈牙利。 顺便扫盲一下1956年10月的匈牙利事件。 此事同“六四事件”有诸多相似之处:都是由大学生最先发动,社会各界都积极响应,都震惊世界,当局都动用正规军(包括坦克)进行镇压。不过,匈牙利的老百姓还是比天朝的屁民牛B一些,他们遭到血腥镇压之后,很多人跑到军火库抢武器,然后跟军方展开巷战。如果不是苏联老大哥在最后关头派出精锐部队,光靠匈牙利本国的军警,还未必能摆平。

★国内政治气氛,民主人士重新活跃
介绍完国际形势,再来说说国内政治形势。
◇知识分子联名上书
大概是受到了苏联改革的鼓舞,天朝的一些民主人士再度活跃起来。俺在《
八六学潮始末》一文提到的方励之,就是其中的代表。这位方校长在“八六学潮”后,已经被罢官并被邓太上皇点名开除党籍。这样一来,他反而更没有顾忌,经常在公开场合批评“四项基本原则”,提倡“全盘西化”。有可能是受到戈尔巴乔夫释放政治犯的启发,1989年元旦刚过没几天,方励之就发表了《
致邓小平的公开信》,呼吁释放朝廷关押的政治犯。 这封公开信引发了连锁反应。到了2月初,著名诗人北岛,联络了33位文学界的知名人士,发了另一封公开信《北京文化界致人大常委及中共中央的公开信》。在上面签名的名人有:吴祖光、冰心、萧乾、李泽厚、包遵信、王若水、陈军等人。然后,在二月底是《北京科教界致中央领导的公开信》,联名签署的有王淦昌、许良英、茅于轼、包遵信、吴祖光等42人。再然后是三月底的《文化界给第七届全国人大二次会议的公开信》,联署人有戴晴、徐友渔、史铁生、严家其、李银河等43人。(上述公开信的内容在"
这里") 这些公开信的共同点,就是希望党国高层推动政治改革,释放在押的政治犯。公开信的联署人,很多都是天朝各界的著名知识分子(有些人名,大伙儿应该常听说),有不小的影响力。
◇大学生心潮未退
虽然“八六学潮”没有掀起太大动静就平息了。但是国内很多高校的学生并未善罢甘休。正所谓学潮退了心潮未退。朝廷官方在1988年搞的一份名叫《当代大学生的思考与选择》的万人问卷调查,很能说明当时大学生的思想状况。以下是俺从问卷调查结果中摘录的部分数据:
对共产主义社会的看法 39.7% 纯粹是一种空想,永远无法实现 25.0% 这个问题说不清楚
对共产党的看法 53.4% 不想入党 45.65% 党风越来越差 15.85% 党风差的根源是“上梁不正下梁歪”
对八六学潮的看法 53.56% 根本起因是国家体制的弊端和不正之风 14.27% 八六学潮,学生根本没有错 42.32% 今后如果出现类似八六年的学潮,参不参加要视情况而定 5.7% 今后如果出现类似八六年的学潮,要积极参加
对改革开放的看法 41.71% 必须坚持走社会主义道路 45.65% 管它什么主义,只要富起来就行 8.77% 应该补资本主义的课并全盘西化
从上述调查结果来看,当时的大学生,不满情绪很明显。而且很多人在问卷中不敢公开自己的真实想法,所以该调查结果或许是偏乐观的——实际的不满情绪会更严重。除了这个问卷,党国官方也搞了其它一些调查:据说在团中央和国家教委1988年下半年提交的相关报告中,都警告了大规模学潮的潜在风险。
◇民间学生组织开始萌芽
说到当时的民间学生组织,最有名的,大概就是北大的“民主沙龙”(创办人是王丹和杨涛)。在“六四学运”之前,民主沙龙就已经很活跃,定期在北大的“塞万提斯草坪”搞讲演活动。所以,王丹从那时候就开始出名了。 除了“民主沙龙”,北大当时还有另一个民间学生组织叫“奥林匹亚科学院”,创办人是沈彤。沈彤在之后的“八九学潮”中,也起了一些作用。本系列的后续博文还会提到他。
◇王丹其人
由于王丹同学在之后的“六四学运”中也算是重要人物,俺在这里先介绍一下此人: 王丹1987年考入北大国际政治系。其父母皆为北大校友。1988年,北大的国政系拆分,王丹选择转入北大的“历史系”——因为历史系的必修课里面没有“高等数学”(据说他的数学很差)。在校期间,他除了主持“民主沙龙”,还策划过一个“当代社会问题研究社”的组织。搞过《新五四》,《燕园风》等民办刊物。 等到“六四学运”兴起之后,他曾任“北大筹委会”(北大民间的学生会,有别于官方的“学生会”)的五人常委之一,也曾任“北高联/高自联”的常委。因为他经常在公开场合(比如记者招待会)亮相,知名度非常高。所以六四之后,朝廷公布的“
高自联21人通缉名单”里面,他荣登榜首。 更多的介绍,参见维基百科“

★国内经济形势——基层屁民意见很大
说完政治层面,再来说说经济层面。
◇物价飞涨
1988年,天朝经济出现的主要问题就是物价飞涨。物价猛涨的同时,也就意味着人民币贬值。于是屁民们纷纷去银行取钱抢购商品。很多地方因此出现挤兑(银行挤兑这种事情,在天朝是很罕见滴)。仅在第三季度,居民储蓄存款额就降低了300亿(当时全国居民存款额是4000亿)。对1988年的抢购潮,年纪大一些的网友,应该都有印象。80年之后出生的网友,可以问问你的父母。 朝廷官方为了稳定人心,赶紧让国有银行开办保值储蓄的业务。保值储蓄的意思,就是确保长期存款利息能够略高于通胀率。否则的话,以当时那么高的通胀水平,存在银行里的钱会快速缩水。 被物价问题这么一闹腾,很多老百姓手头的钞票都贬值了,心里非常不爽。
◇腐败严重
另一个让屁民很不爽的事情,就是党国的腐败问题——这已经是天朝的老问题了。自从经济改革之后,腐败之风日渐盛行。有权有势的官员,想尽办法玩权钱交易的把戏,以此来大捞一把。 说到八十年代的官员腐败,其特色现象之一是“官倒”。可能80后、90后的同学,不太明白“官倒”是咋回事,俺大概解释一下。 那会儿,天朝正在从计划经济向市场经济转型。市面上的一些重要的商品实行双规制。双规制就是说商品有两种价格:“官价”和“市价”。市价大家比较好理解,就跟现在的市场价格一样,是由供求关系决定的;而官价则是官方硬性制定的。当时的一些国有企业实行计划供应,根据官价来采购商品。 由于市价通常远远高于官价,某些具有物资调拨权力的官员,就可以把某些商品(比如钢材)以官价调拨给自己的亲属,然后其亲属再拿到市面上以市价出售。这一转手就可以赚取2到3倍甚至更多的差价。
◇屁民很生气,后果很严重
在天朝的屁民中,虽然不乏热血青年及理想主义者,但是大多数的屁民,都是很实在、很功利的。只要他们的切身利益不受到明显伤害,通常是不会闹事滴。关于这一点,在上次推荐的《中国人的性格》一书,有详尽的分析(俺的书评在“
这里”)。 然而,1988年的通胀以及日益严重的腐败问题,终于让这些屁民感觉到自身利益受损。这也就是为什么89年的学潮,有如此深厚的群众基础,社会的各个阶层都参与进来。 顺便插一句题外话。 眼下的天朝:通涨水平,貌似也不低;高房价貌似也让很多人不爽;至于腐败问题,显然比八十年代还要严重得多。这一切的不爽,都会在屁民的心中累积。没准哪天就爆发了。肯定有人会问:何时会爆发?抱歉,俺不是算命的,说不上来。或许现在的天朝,就差某个导火线而已。

五四运动是如此(这事儿大伙儿应该挺熟悉),文革时期的
四五运动是如此(这事儿大伙儿应该较陌生),89年的“六四运动”亦如此。此规律不仅适用于天朝,老外也一样(不信请看今年中东流行的“茉莉花革命”)。 所以,今天俺要跟大伙儿聊一聊:在1989年的年初,天朝社会所呈现出来的山雨欲来风满楼之势。

★全球政治形势——共产阵营开始瓦解
先说说89年的国际政局。跟天朝关系最密切的大概就是:共产主义阵营开始土崩瓦解。
◇苏联
共产阵营的瓦解,首先开始于苏联。 大伙儿都知道,当时的苏共总书记是戈尔巴乔夫(脑门上有胎记的那哥们)。他面对苏联内外交困的局面,被迫推行政治改革。在1988年夏天的苏共党代会上,戈同学提出了苏联的改革应沿着深入且持续的民主方向前进。同年,戈同学还宣布释放苏联所有的政治犯,并且为斯大林在历次大清洗中的遇难者建立纪念碑(说到大清洗,苏联的斯大林、纳粹的希特勒以及及天朝的毛太祖,并称20世纪三大刽子手)。 到了1989年的3月份,苏联进行了一次具有历史意义的全国大选(类似天朝的人大代表选举)。其重大意义在于:自十月革命以来,第一次允许共产党以外的政党参加选举。那次大选中,苏共的保守派候选人多有落选,反而像叶利钦这种激进改革派以高票(89.4%)当选。另外,很多知名的党外民主人士(比如萨哈罗夫)也高票当选。很明显,苏共作为执政党,已经失去了很多民心。 除了允许党外人士参加人民代表选举,戈同学的另外一个重大举措是:放弃对东欧国家的控制。按照当时苏联外交部发言人的说法:让每个国家决定自己的道路。原先东欧那些个社会主义国家,大都是苏联老大哥的附庸国。好几个东欧小国,都是靠着苏联的武力来维持共产党的统治。一旦苏联放弃干预,东欧的共产党就纷纷垮台。
◇波兰
在东欧剧变中,波兰共产党(全称是波兰统一工人党,以下简称波共)是第一个倒下的多米诺骨牌,它是被波兰的
团结工会击败的。 团结工会成立于1980年,在八十年代的大部分时间,它一直是非法组织,只能在地下活动。到了1988年,由于失去了苏联这个靠山,波共再也无法压制团结工会,只好承认其合法地位。于是团结工会就从地下组织变为公开活动,并迅速壮大。到了1989年,波兰的1200万工人中约有900万人加入团结工会。 顺便说一下,波兰在1989年6月4日举行全国大选,团结工会彻底击败波共。而就在同一天,在地球的另一边,另一个共产政权调动野战部队,开始在自己的首都杀人...
◇匈牙利
在那年2月,匈牙利政府宣布为1956年的
匈牙利事件平反,并称其为“人民起义”。在平反之前,所有的社会主义国家都把匈牙利事件定性为,反革命暴乱(天朝对“六四事件”也是这么定性的)。匈牙利政府的这一声明,着实让天朝政府尴尬。因为当年就是天朝的毛太祖极力怂恿,才让苏联总书记赫鲁晓夫下定决心出兵匈牙利。 顺便扫盲一下1956年10月的匈牙利事件。 此事同“六四事件”有诸多相似之处:都是由大学生最先发动,社会各界都积极响应,都震惊世界,当局都动用正规军(包括坦克)进行镇压。不过,匈牙利的老百姓还是比天朝的屁民牛B一些,他们遭到血腥镇压之后,很多人跑到军火库抢武器,然后跟军方展开巷战。如果不是苏联老大哥在最后关头派出精锐部队,光靠匈牙利本国的军警,还未必能摆平。

★国内政治气氛,民主人士重新活跃
介绍完国际形势,再来说说国内政治形势。
◇知识分子联名上书
大概是受到了苏联改革的鼓舞,天朝的一些民主人士再度活跃起来。俺在《
八六学潮始末》一文提到的方励之,就是其中的代表。这位方校长在“八六学潮”后,已经被罢官并被邓太上皇点名开除党籍。这样一来,他反而更没有顾忌,经常在公开场合批评“四项基本原则”,提倡“全盘西化”。有可能是受到戈尔巴乔夫释放政治犯的启发,1989年元旦刚过没几天,方励之就发表了《
致邓小平的公开信》,呼吁释放朝廷关押的政治犯。 这封公开信引发了连锁反应。到了2月初,著名诗人北岛,联络了33位文学界的知名人士,发了另一封公开信《北京文化界致人大常委及中共中央的公开信》。在上面签名的名人有:吴祖光、冰心、萧乾、李泽厚、包遵信、王若水、陈军等人。然后,在二月底是《北京科教界致中央领导的公开信》,联名签署的有王淦昌、许良英、茅于轼、包遵信、吴祖光等42人。再然后是三月底的《文化界给第七届全国人大二次会议的公开信》,联署人有戴晴、徐友渔、史铁生、严家其、李银河等43人。(上述公开信的内容在"
这里") 这些公开信的共同点,就是希望党国高层推动政治改革,释放在押的政治犯。公开信的联署人,很多都是天朝各界的著名知识分子(有些人名,大伙儿应该常听说),有不小的影响力。
◇大学生心潮未退
虽然“八六学潮”没有掀起太大动静就平息了。但是国内很多高校的学生并未善罢甘休。正所谓学潮退了心潮未退。朝廷官方在1988年搞的一份名叫《当代大学生的思考与选择》的万人问卷调查,很能说明当时大学生的思想状况。以下是俺从问卷调查结果中摘录的部分数据:
对共产主义社会的看法 39.7% 纯粹是一种空想,永远无法实现 25.0% 这个问题说不清楚
对共产党的看法 53.4% 不想入党 45.65% 党风越来越差 15.85% 党风差的根源是“上梁不正下梁歪”
对八六学潮的看法 53.56% 根本起因是国家体制的弊端和不正之风 14.27% 八六学潮,学生根本没有错 42.32% 今后如果出现类似八六年的学潮,参不参加要视情况而定 5.7% 今后如果出现类似八六年的学潮,要积极参加
对改革开放的看法 41.71% 必须坚持走社会主义道路 45.65% 管它什么主义,只要富起来就行 8.77% 应该补资本主义的课并全盘西化
从上述调查结果来看,当时的大学生,不满情绪很明显。而且很多人在问卷中不敢公开自己的真实想法,所以该调查结果或许是偏乐观的——实际的不满情绪会更严重。除了这个问卷,党国官方也搞了其它一些调查:据说在团中央和国家教委1988年下半年提交的相关报告中,都警告了大规模学潮的潜在风险。
◇民间学生组织开始萌芽
说到当时的民间学生组织,最有名的,大概就是北大的“民主沙龙”(创办人是王丹和杨涛)。在“六四学运”之前,民主沙龙就已经很活跃,定期在北大的“塞万提斯草坪”搞讲演活动。所以,王丹从那时候就开始出名了。 除了“民主沙龙”,北大当时还有另一个民间学生组织叫“奥林匹亚科学院”,创办人是沈彤。沈彤在之后的“八九学潮”中,也起了一些作用。本系列的后续博文还会提到他。
◇王丹其人
由于王丹同学在之后的“六四学运”中也算是重要人物,俺在这里先介绍一下此人: 王丹1987年考入北大国际政治系。其父母皆为北大校友。1988年,北大的国政系拆分,王丹选择转入北大的“历史系”——因为历史系的必修课里面没有“高等数学”(据说他的数学很差)。在校期间,他除了主持“民主沙龙”,还策划过一个“当代社会问题研究社”的组织。搞过《新五四》,《燕园风》等民办刊物。 等到“六四学运”兴起之后,他曾任“北大筹委会”(北大民间的学生会,有别于官方的“学生会”)的五人常委之一,也曾任“北高联/高自联”的常委。因为他经常在公开场合(比如记者招待会)亮相,知名度非常高。所以六四之后,朝廷公布的“
高自联21人通缉名单”里面,他荣登榜首。 更多的介绍,参见维基百科“

★国内经济形势——基层屁民意见很大
说完政治层面,再来说说经济层面。
◇物价飞涨
1988年,天朝经济出现的主要问题就是物价飞涨。物价猛涨的同时,也就意味着人民币贬值。于是屁民们纷纷去银行取钱抢购商品。很多地方因此出现挤兑(银行挤兑这种事情,在天朝是很罕见滴)。仅在第三季度,居民储蓄存款额就降低了300亿(当时全国居民存款额是4000亿)。对1988年的抢购潮,年纪大一些的网友,应该都有印象。80年之后出生的网友,可以问问你的父母。 朝廷官方为了稳定人心,赶紧让国有银行开办保值储蓄的业务。保值储蓄的意思,就是确保长期存款利息能够略高于通胀率。否则的话,以当时那么高的通胀水平,存在银行里的钱会快速缩水。 被物价问题这么一闹腾,很多老百姓手头的钞票都贬值了,心里非常不爽。
◇腐败严重

TLDR - Shiny Weapon Drop Rate is
3.85% (1/26~) base, from any source.
probably. With the '
Drop Rate Buff' added on May 21, 2024, that is likely doubled, to a
7.7% (1/13~) chance.
I tracked 1k drops for drop, attunement, shiny, and perks (just to quantify how unlucky i am)

As the sample size builds up, there is some fluctuation until it stabilizes between 3.5% - 4.0% Sample is obviously not large enough to be certain. But based on Bungie's historical enthusiasm for using the number 7 literally everywhere, I am drawing the conclusion they tested the initial drop rate as either 7, 7.7, or 7.77%, and found it a bit too high, so sliced it in half. With today's 'BRAVE drop buff', it appears to be a drop rate buff specifically for shiny drops, which is likely doubling it, to restore the drop rate to 7.7% (ish) (probably)

Attunement Rate for Mountaintop, Luna, are a bit off, but the sample size is small enough to attribute it to luck. You may have noticed an oddity though - 0 drops of Falling Guillotine, or Forbearance. So lets also get into some drop mechanics / Onslaught Tips
Weapon Drop Pool
Your initial drop pool, is only the first 4 weapons available - Recluse, Hung Jury, Succession, and Edge Transit. The remaining 8 weapons cannot drop, until you FULLY complete the associated weapon quest. Specifically, when the quest makes you Attune to the weapon on step 2, for the first time, that adds the drop into your loot pool. If you just don't do the quest, don't attune, etc - you can remove guns you don't want, from your loot pool. Between the weapon unlock mechanics, the layout of the map, and the initial plan of '6 extra weapons unlock 1 per week', I believe the initial plan was 8 weeks of Onslaught, with 1 unlock per week, and that was 'buffed' before the announcement to 6 + 6 over weeks, and finally into 6 + 6 over 3 weeks.
Shiny Drop Sources
All weapon drops are equal - wave 10 boss, opening the chest w/ 10 tokens, claiming a vendor engram from Shaxx, or turning in a weekly Arcite bounty - Every drop has a chance to be shiny.
finally, if you only take one piece of information away -
Heavy Ammo Crates in Onslaught only despawn when a build phase ends, or a player enters the boss portal.
NOT the Spark / Round 6 Portal. If you have a heavy crate sitting on the ground when the Spark/Rift portal opens, Don't open it, leave it outside, burn your heavy clearing the Sparkbearers inside, then refill after.

I was searching for what is the best way to gather chitin.
In wiki.gg it says that megatherium, sabertooth and therizino are the best gatherers (5) and the metal hatchet is 4. In dododex it says that the best is the megatherium (4.7) followed by metal hatchet (4.4) and the sabertooth and therizino are so much worse than the metal hatchet (4.0 and 3.7) which doesnt make sense.
Which one is lying? Wiki.gg or dododex?
Chitin was just an example, I have seen a lot of weird disagreements like these in both sites.

2024.05.22 00:14 patentablyobvious Relationship between the Cetra and the Gi - would love to hear your thoughts on my theory
I decided to play OG FF7 after finishing my playthrough of Rebirth, and some dialogue from the original game caught my eye. This occurs in the Nibelheim flashback while speaking to Sephiroth in Shinra Manor library, and also here's a link for the transcript that is readily searchable -
Final Fantasy VII script Final Fantasy Wiki Fandom. I'm not sure how this theory relates to the parallel worlds aspect of the remake trilogy which may be a good indication that it is incorrect, but I wanted to share and get everyone's thoughts regardless.
Sephiroth: You ignorant traitor. I'll tell you. This Planet originally belonged to the Cetra. Cetra was a itinerant race. They would migrate in, settle the Planet, then move on... At the end of their harsh, hard journey, they would find the Promised Land and supreme happiness.
Sephiroth: But, those that disliked the journey appeared. Those who stopped their migrations built shelters and elected to lead an easier life. They took that which the Cetra and the planet had made without giving back one whit in return! Those are your ancestors.
Despite playing OG FF7 many times I had never interpreted this part as suggesting that the Cetra migrate between planets, but after playing Rebirth and seeing the expanded Gi backstory it really stood out. A google search indicates that people generally agree that the Cetra are native to Gaia, and that the above dialogue from Sephiroth is just a poor translation... but it would be very cheeky of Square to build on this dialogue now in the remake trilogy and give it new meaning. I also didn't see anything definitive in the FF7 script or elsewhere that disproved the possibility that the Cetra are not native to Gaia.
The more I thought about it, the more it seems like they are setting the Cetra and Gi up as opposites. Under this theory, the Cetra migrate to a planet and cultivate its lifestream, then eventually move on. Each time the Cetra leave a planet, some abandon the migration and choose to stay on the planet. The Gi on the other hand arrive on Gaia in desperation after fleeing their homeworld, and immediately see the Cetra (maybe those that stayed behind?) as a threat to their continued presence on Gaia.
The Gi are unable to pass onto the lifestream upon death, and they assume the reason for that is because they are aliens that were not born of the lifestream, and so they cannot return to it. But its very believable that the Gi are just wrong, and that the Cetra have discovered a way to at least partially pass into the lifestream of a planet upon death. This would seem like the more likely long-term fix for the Gi's problem, rather than having Red XIII return the black materia to the Gi. This could also explain why Aerith, Sephiroth, Jenova, etc., seem to have some special connection with or mastery over the lifestream.
Then there is the Black Materia provided by the Gi, and the White Materia provided by the Cetra. The end-game scene where Cloud melds the Black Materia into his sword had a very "technological" look to it,. This got me thinking that the Black Materia might actually be super advanced technology that resembles materia, rather than ordinary materia that is formed from the lifestream.
Specifically - what if the Black and White Materia are the physical embodiment of, or controller for, extremely advanced terraforming technology? This would allow the Cetra to migrate to a planet, terraform it using the white materia to cultivate abundant life on the planet thereby growing the planets lifestream until it is self sufficient, and then most of the Cetra move on to the next planet. Maybe they leave a White Materia on each planet for those stay behind, in case of an emergency. The Black Materia was created by the Gi to do the opposite - to strip a planet of all life and destroy it, presumably also destroying the Gi and giving them peace.
So - could the Cetra be aliens, and could the White Materia be a planet-scale terraforming device?

2024.05.21 23:03 Formidable_Beast Repair time calculations with Hyperfocus + Deadline + Bardic Inspiration + Stakeout
I wrote code to calculate the total amount of time it takes to repair a generator with the four generator perks. This is a simulated estimation this means, it is worth no value if my environment is wrong. I used values provided by the official wiki and findings by the community.
Here are the numbers relevant to this finding:
- Skillcheck Chance
- Default: 8% per second
- Deadline: +10% per second
- Hyperfocus: +4% per stack
- Bonus Progression
- Default: +1% charge
- Hyperfocus: +0.30% per token
- Stakeout: +1% charge with minimum 1 token
- Bardic Inspiration: d20 [2-10 = +1%, 11-19 = +2%, 20 = +3%]
Assuming that the player is injured, inspired(+3), have atleast one Stakeout token, hitting every skillcheck with Greats...
it should only take 31 seconds to repair a generator. Considering this is 4 perks... This will be insanely overpowered in a SWF, if your friends can protect you and make sure you repair undisturbed. You'll fuck over the killer if there are two players with this build.
If you need to remove perks:
- God-Level: NO Stakeout
- Intermediate: NO Hyperfocus
- Two Perks: USE Deadline + Bardic

The builds:
My partner and I are both looking to upgrade our PCs in the near future. We will both purchase the parts in Germany.
Hers PCPartPicker Part List Her budget is 1000€ but obviously any savings would be appreciated. When I configured her system (see above) I didn't really see a good way to spend the extra ~90€ though. I am looking for someone more experienced to tell me if I am leaving some obvious performance gains on the table.
Her system is currently an i5-4460 and a GTX 1050 Ti, so realistically any somewhat modern system is going to be a major upgrade. The impetus for her wanting to upgrade is her systems extremely poor performance on Helldivers 2 (literal single digit FPS at 1080p).
Her system is going to be mostly used for fairly light games (2D games or games like Coral Island), but occasionally she will play more demanding titles such as Monster Hunter: World or Helldivers 2, where her current setup really struggles. We're also both really looking forward to Monster Hunter: Wilds, so ideally her system will manage that, too, though obviously nobody knows for certain at the moment.
Her current display is a 1080p 60Hz display, so I'd state that as the goal for this build, but the option to upgrade to 1440p and/or a higher refresh rate would of course be nice.
I am a little worried about using last gen parts with little to no upgrade path down the line, but realistically she isn't the type of person to regularly upgrade her PC. If her last system is any indication she probably won't upgrade anything for the next 4 to 6 years, at which point she'll have to buy a wholly new system anyway.
With her build I was mostly focused on getting a good bang for the buck, but I am unsure if I achieved that goal. Perhaps there is a better way for her to spend her money?
His PCPartPicker Part List My budget is 2000€-ish. If it ends up a little more expensive for noticeable performance gains I'd be willing to pay more.
This build is very close to
/buildapcforme's $2000 recommendation, with a few changes:
- Replaced GPU (PNY VERTO) and memory (Teamgroup) made by relatively unknown manufacturers with equivalent hardware made by more well known brands (Gigabyte, Corsair). I am unsure how much this matters, but I have literally never heard of the first two manufacturers.
- Removed storage because I intend to continue using my current storage (2TB Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus and 2TB Sabrent Rocket Q).
- Replaced recommended air cooler with Liquid Freezer III because I could get it for a very good price and because I want to try liquid cooling after using air cooled PCs for all my life.
- Added case fans because I decided I want to max out the number of case fans and I'd like for them to all be the same, so I will replace the fans that come with the case.
I am looking to play modern 3D games (Cyberpunk 2077, Doom Eternal, Helldivers 2, God of War: Ragnarok, perhaps replay The Witcher 3 etc.) at ultrawide 1440p, 165 Hz and ideally max settings. If this isn't possible I'd compromise on settings, because I certainly won't buy a 4090.
With my build the goal was "close to top of the line, while staying at a somewhat reasonable price point". I am fairly confident with my choices here, but I would still like a more experienced builder too look over the planned build in case I made any mistakes.

So I was thinking of doing another campaign, but using OP builds is boring so I did some research. Basically, this strategy utilizes party members to buff a main character and max out Stealth.
Even tho we're maxing stealth, i think the damage output of this build is still strong ( in normal battle )
You can do this multiple ways, and here's some choices I came up with. All of this info I got from
bg3.wiki and my memory from build tutorials I read/watched before, so special thanks to all of them.
TLDKeypoint:
Lightfoot Halfling character with 24 Dex + Greater Invisibility (from someone) + Expertise Stealth + Advantage in stealth check + ton bonus stealth check via gear, guidance and pass without a trace + Lucky from Halfling
Not enough? go for 11 rogue to get reliable talent
**Character Creation**:
* Race Selection : any or Lightfoot Halfling for an advantage and a reroll on a 1 on stealth checks
* Background (if Tav): any or Urchin / Criminal for Stealth Proficiency
* Class: Explained on later section ( Multiple ways to do this ), but you could choose Rogue/FighteRanger for now
* Main Ability: Go for 17 dex, the rest, up to you, personally I then max Constitution, and then Charisma (if Party Face) or Wisdom and dump the rest
* Skill Proficiency: Maxing Stealth for proficiency and expertise, rest up to you
**Class Selection**
Overview:
Your character should have access to:
- Maximum dexterity of 24
- Stealth skill - Expertise level
- Pass without a Trace spell ( For easier setup, else someone else cast it )
- Disguise Self (if you are not a gnome and no other party member able to cast seeming)
* How to get 24 Dexterity:
17 initial dex + 1 Hag HaiAthlete Feat + 2 ASI + 2 Mirror of Loss + 2 Nimblefinger Gloves
* The build:
If you use hag hair
Go for classic 5 Gloomstalker (disguise self + pass without a trace) / 4 Champion / 3 Assassin / 2 of your feat being +2 ASI DEX and Sharpshooter and picking stealth expertise.
Fighting style: Archery and Defense
If not:
Go for 8 Champion Fighter (Athlete/ASI, ASI, Sharpshooter) / 1 rogue (Stealth Proficiency & Expertise) / 3 trickery cleric (disguise self+pass without a trace)
Fighting style: Archery
The order of taking level is up to you, but if you want to stealthing as soon as possible, prioritize getting pass without a trace and upgrading your dex/stealth skill, once a party member has access to greater invisibility, go nuts!

**Stealth Gear Choices**
This list of gear will give stealth check bonus, if you think you have enough stealth bonus, feel free to change it, my goal is to make the enemy can’t see me,
- Glove: Nimblefinger Glove (+2 Dex as gnome, work if disguised as gnome)
- Shield: Gloomstrand Shield (+2 AC, Guarantee +1 Stealth)
- Armor: Leather Armour +2 (13 AC, Guarantee +1 Stealth) or Penumbral Armour (+3 stealth while obscured [i hate this, cause obscured is so situational, but if u want go for it]) or The Graceful Cloth (advantage in dexterity check, if you are not lightfoot halfling, or no one able to cast Enhance Ability / Blessing of the Trickster on you )
- Main Hand (optional in case you somehow still don't have advantage on stealth check): Assassin's Shortsword.
With your 24 dex, shield, and armor alone, you are able to get up to 13+7+2=22 AC, If you want more you could do via gear or spell, but I don’t think you need high AC cause you will be attacking while invisible, do a high AC never hurt :D.
- Ring 1: Shapeshifter ring ( +1d4 to all skill check while disguised, synergized with nimblefinger )
- Ring 2: Smuggler ring (Guarantee +2 stealth)
*Rest of the slot: up to you, none of it can improve stealth so this is what i like/generally good item
- Head: Saverok Helmet for guarantee -1 Critical threshold or Soul Perception (+2 to atk roll, init, perception)
- Cloak: Cloak of Protection (+1 AC) or Cloak of Displacement
- Boot: Evasive Shoes (+1 AC) or Disintegrating Night Walkers (misty step) or Boots of Persistence (longstrider + freedom of movement)
- Amulet: Amulet of Greater Health (23 Con) or Amulet of Bhaal (bleeding) or Amulet of Misty Step
- MainHand: Knife of undermountain king or club of hill giant strength ( if titanstringBow and no str elixir ), there is
- Ranged Weapon: Deadshot or Titanstring bow
- Elixir: STR elixir (if titanstring bow) or collosal elixir (extra 1d4 damage ) or bloodlust (nerfed in honour mode)

So with all of that setup, your character on level 12 in Act 3 with the best condition should have:
- Advantage on Stealth Check, reroll if got a 1
- Flat bonus +7 (24 dex) + 4(prof)+ 4 (expert) + 10 (pass) + 1 (shield) + 1 (armor) + 2(smuggler)= 29
- dice bonus: 1d4 ( guidance ) + 1d4 (shapeshifter ) + 1d6 (rupture)
- Greater Invisibility ( double the duration with sorcerer, so 20 turn :D)
You are gone, the enemy can’t see you, you will only fail if you roll at least 4 nat 1 in a row ( if my understanding of advantage + lucky is correct ), 0.000625% chance of failing.
- Your roll should be at minimum 2 (dice) + 1 + 1 + 1 ( dice bonuses) + 29 = 34 and maximum of 19+4+4+6+29 = 62, Holy hell.
It may not be the strongest build, but I feel like it will be super fun just being invisible for 20 turns and having the enemy search for you.

My fellow gamers, for too long has our community suffered the indignation of an intolerable culture that has denigrated, besmirched, exploited, and has outright demonized our culture of unique individuals with a genuine love of a hobby that they see as profitable and progressive. They have taken beloved IP’s (Intellectual Properties) and twisted them into their own personal ideological crusade of undermining and humiliating the core aspects of characters they deemed as “Toxic” or “White Supremacy”. Through the guise and protection of DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity) & ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) they have used our influence in the entertainment industry to push their narratives and agendas that have stigmatized our culture with numerous anti-consumer practices that they call “being progressive”. But the truth of the matter is they were never really looking to be a part of our community, they simply wanted to use our community as a tool of activism and propaganda in the entertainment industry as it was extremely profitable, and they wanted inclusion in that division. Ever since GamerGate & Female Frequency, we have had to endure the incursion of forced ideologies, xenophobic behaviors and inferior overpriced products that have never been in our best interest and have been flat out disgraceful towards foreign media.
Before Gaming had become a major source of entertainment, we were often categorized as anti-social or societies rejects where because we found more enjoyment in playing fictional characters and not spending as much time out and about, we never fully assimilated in society (which is a good thing if you ask me). From 1998 to 2007, at the height of innovation, creativity and production, Gaming had reached a golden age in which it had revolutionized society. Hollywood Execs who had ruined the movie industry turned their attention to video games as a source of income since video games had outperformed movies in terms of profit. No one was concerned about gaming, much less diversity or inclusivity until it became profitable. This makes people like SBI look extremely disingenuous as they were not interested in gamers as a community with its own culture. They simply wanted to use it as another weapon in identity politics.
Microtransactions; the hidden enemy to gamer progress and inducer to mental laziness of our community. Microtransactions have been around for a long time; however, it has never been more potent and apparent than in recent years. It has aided in the dismantling and segregation of players on the ideology of
FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) and has created another sub-culture of gamers who have no real drive to be better outside of how much money they put into the game. This has degraded our culture as well as we have become “fat” off transactional gaming but at the same time we have been “starved” of purposeful gaming where our achievements were our sustenance. I am not saying that microtransactions are bad, but when they are exploitative and predatorial like they have been and don’t give gamers room to grow, we become lethargic and unwilling to improve ourselves as gamers. Oversaturated microtransactional games are one of the many reasons why we have become complacent and unwilling to fight against the exploitative tactics used by big brand game companies such EA, Ubisoft, ActivisionBlizzard, NaughtyDog and so many other western business model companies. Western style games were not like this in the past, they had much more depth and actual effort put into them with the gamer in mind. This has not been the case for over a decade and our connection to western developers has been whittled down to just being transactional. That is one of the reasons why you see so many remasters and remakes in today’s gamer community. They have lost their willingness to improve as developers of games and simply accept corporate/share holder rules.
Game journalists also do not have any real integrity or purpose outside of being funded for their involvement in promoting IPG (Identity Political Games) in a positive light to the public whether it’s positively received or not. They are not interested in what we have to say, they all support the same agenda and that is why they are a dying breed. Within the next couple of years, they will be out of the job and more than likely they will not be able to stay in the industry giving how they have responded to past articles that have clearly been scripted on the premise of diversity and racism. Not only that, but most of them are also extremely hostile to the community as they stereotype and defame the individuals that are a part of the community they are supposed to serve. We have been mentally liberated from their lies and coercive tactics as we tend to laugh at their obvious attempt at virtue signaling while hiding their misdoings so that they can play the victim.
My gamer brothers & sisters, I would not suggest the following action that we must take now without good cause. I have weighed our options and the best option for us now is this…...
CULTURAL SECESSION. Naturally this is a form of segregation where they would more than likely claim they are being segregated by the dominant culture of the gaming community but that is incorrect. For years now we have been the ones who are often marginalized and ostracized for the smaller portion of our community. And when we aren’t, we’re exploited for more funds so that these companies can stay in business only to subject us to low quality products that coincide with the “WOKE Agenda” that are often huge expenses to these big brands i.e. AAA/AAAA games that will eventually flop for its obvious forced diversity and bug infested product which will undoubtedly piss off the consumer to the point of wanting a refund. Losing copious amounts of capital and stock in the process, not to mention their reputation is permanently marred.
We must separate on every cultural level in terms of entertainment and ideology. We must reject everything from the west that promotes toxic western beliefs, practices, and exclusion from other cultures (i.e. Southeastern Countries such as Japan and Korea). Japan & Korea have been the targets of unjust discrimination from Western Developers, Western Journalists, Western Localizers (The Wokelizers) and Western Society Prejudice regarding their sense of aesthetics as Westerners hate the aesthetic sense of these countries. The reason why they resort to such base tactics isn’t just because it weaponizes the ideal female form but it’s also because they have deep-seated insecurities about their own looks so when they see attractive female characters, they use terms such as “unrealistic” or “hypersexualized” to establish the moral high ground. But the truth is, they want to feel superior to that which is ideal, so they insult and dehumanize this figure that portrays natural female beauty because they see it as an insult to their own social superiority in what they believe is a hierarchy of them being at the top of all other women. Because of this and so many contributing factors, their movies flop harder than the
Fat Chocobo landing on a group of enemies and their games seismically fail just as much if not more. We must sever our connection to Western Developers, Publishers, and ALL Western-Centric Entertainment for they seek to mentally enslave us to their Xenophobic ideology.
Let’s define Western Culture and its traits. Western Culture/Society is composed of more than several different ideologies that work in unison with one another to facilitate dominance over multiple aspects of society. Business, Social, Political, Technological, and sometimes even Global Affairs are affected by these ideologies that portray a specific mindset of Western beliefs. What are those ideologies you ask?
- Perpetual Victimhood: By weaponizing the fact that they are marginalized and of a small portion of western society, they can push their agenda to absurd standards that ultimately ostracize the main demographic. And when companies don’t capitulate, they are labeled as anti-progressive/misogynist’s or cohorts of White Supremacy. They use this to cancel their targets and silence them through societal defamation to keep the public on their side. They also use this mindset to justify their own lack of self-agency as they tend to throw companies who do adhere to their demands but miserably fail to turn a profit under the bus so that they can maintain face in front of the public while denying their actual involvement. They will never accept “Sense of Agency” when it’s negative but will gladly accept it when a positive outcome shines on them as if they are entitled to it.

- Societal Terrorism: This is another form of ideology weaponization that they use in order to make companies “toe-the-line” with their agenda. By weaponizing cancel culture, they exert dominance over these companies but in exchange they also reimburse those companies with DEI & ESG funds that raise their credit score as well as having social status with the marginalized demographic. However; cancel culture has not succeeded in years and developers and publishers probably only want the money and the DEI ESG rating. But they have to maintain the image of having social economic power so that they can continue to strong-arm other developers into compliance and promoting financial benefits of DEI & ESG. They often look down upon gamers who are not in the industry to hide their obvious lack of knowledge on game development thinking that their job title grants them special status that they believe gives them the right to be condescending. But the truth they never wanted revealed has already strangled their careers of all credibility. They were never GAMERS, they were INVADERS. - Double-standard Enforcement: By labeling something as “unrealistic” or “hypersexualized”, they can claim this is morally wrong if it promotes traditional dynamics between men and women. Heterosexual relationships are condemned while at the same time Same-sex relationships are praised. Additionally, heterosexual relationships with main white male characters turn antagonistic and spotlight stealing. This is deliberate as to promote the “Girl Boss” ideology to indoctrinate women into the Feminazi state of mind. While at the same time, should a male character also adopt the “I don’t need male/female” ideology its seen as Toxic Masculinity which isn’t even a real thing. - Dehumanization/Demonization: This is something that most military branches use in order to remove conscious inhibitions such as mass slaughter is wrong or categorization. By enforcing ideologies to denounce humanity in certain targets, it deactivates your conscience by saying this is not human therefore its ethically okay to treat this target without compassion and deny the fact it has sentience. We gamers fall under this category for journalists, developers, companies and society at large. This is a tactic we are familiar with to an extent as it implies that we are not normal when we do not do what everybody else is doing. “Geeks are the worse” or “Nerds need to fall into a pit of lava” are verbal dehumanization forms that most people in society say and we as Gamers tend to be relegated to those categories. This is their way of imposing the social hierarchy on us by establishing superiority. - Deflection/Projection: This is basic psychology 101. By redirecting the conversation away from their mistakes and back on to the opposing view to avert blame and justify their innocence they can avoid criticism. However; deflection is a CONSCIOUS decision, meaning they have no real argument to justify their incompetence. If you can consciously process the situation, you have self-agency which means you don’t have a legitimate excuse. Projection is something else entirely. Most times, Projection doesn’t work on conscious decisions rather it is automatically deployed when feeling threatened, anxious or both. Instead of accepting accountability for feelings or actions that are deemed socially unacceptable they accuse others of committing that unacceptable behavior thereby exonerating themselves and proving that those feelings and/or actions are not their own.

Dragon's Gifts: A set of buffs are randomly chosen, once per run. Between pathways, players can purchase buffs from Riven via Wishing Glass. Buffs are separated into three price point tiers. Rewards: After each pathway, players will return to Riven for their rewards. Subsequent pathways pay out better rewards. Breaking through score thresholds unlock secret chests. Finishing The Coil with a platinum score rewards players with access to the lustrous and lucrative Chamber of Wishes.

Onslaught: Playlist
- Onslaught Rules: Defend and repair the ADU against waves of combatants. There are 10 waves to a set. ADU: If the ADU is destroyed, the activity ends. Scraps: An in-activity currency. They are earned by scoring and used to purchase and upgrade defenses at the start of every set and after waves 3 and 6. Rewards: Paid out after every set upon defeating the boss wave. - Strand Surge: 25% bonus to outgoing Strand damage.
- Solar Surge: 25% bonus to outgoing Solar damage.
The Coil
- The Coil Rules: Successfully complete four pathways inside Riven's Lair. Escalating Difficulty: Player's Power levels are fixed. Starting at 0 each subsequent pathway increases all combatants' Power level over the player's by 5. Wishing Glass: Wishing Glass is an in-activity currency. They drop from combatants, Glass Collectors, and pots. Wishing Glass comes in multiple rarities equating to their worth. Wishing Glass is used to purchase Dragon's Gifts from Riven. Dragon's Gifts: A set of buffs are randomly chosen, once per run. Between pathways, players can purchase buffs from Riven via Wishing Glass. Buffs are separated into three price point tiers. Rewards: After each pathway, players will return to Riven for their rewards. Subsequent pathways pay out better rewards. Breaking through score thresholds unlock secret chests. Finishing The Coil with a platinum score rewards players with access to the lustrous and lucrative Chamber of Wishes.
- Multiplicity: Combatant difficulty scales with fireteam size.
- Limited Revives: Limited fireteam revives. Purchase additional revives from Riven with Wishing Glass. Small chance to drop from destroying pots.
- Full Extinguish: If all your fireteam members fall with 0 Revive Tokens, everyone is returned to orbit.
- Attrition: Regeneration is greatly impaired. Defeating enemies may create wells of Light.
- Galvanized: Combatants have more health and are more difficult to stun.
