2024.05.21 19:13 Slow_Balance270 Starting to collect the TMNT classics figures, would like some advice.

(Originally posted over in toys, was told I may have better luck here)
Last Monday I walked in to my local Walmart and they had a selection of the Playmates reproduction line of the classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figures from the late 80s and early 90s. I picked up the ones I wanted and was thrilled with my find. These toys were a huge part of my childhood.
Since then I have went back twice during my lunch break to see if they restocked any and so far they have not.
My Sister used to work as a toys department manager and I asked her about it, she said there was no specific day that they restocked toys but if I called I could talk to someone and they would be able to tell me when their next restock was and even what they'd be getting.
She told me there used to be a website you could go to and look it up yourself, that she had a customer who collected hot wheels who knew what was coming on the truck before she did but she couldn't remember the web address.
I called Walmart but I couldn't get anyone who worked in toys, I talked to the operator, who claims they are only sold online even though I literally bought some last week in store. I have a feeling they were just using the regular Walmart website to check their inventory instead of what my Sister described, which sounds like a slightly deeper dive in their actual inventory system and not the website.
I really don't wanna encourage scalpers, these figures retail for roughly $10 USD each and the online prices are insane. Does anyone have any tricks or tips for collecting? Maybe someone here knows what website my Sister is talking about?
Also, Walmart is my only retailer close enough for me to visit or I'd check out other stores. The closest Target is over 3 hours away.
I appreciate it.

2024.05.21 19:12 athenafreed Best recruitment route for 2 STEM degrees?

Hi all! 26-year-old female with a STEM undergraduate and graduate degree looking to do intelligence specialist work in the CG. I'm working with a recruiter right now who's telling me my chances of getting into OCS are better if I enlist and then apply vs. applying as a direct commissioned officer. From my understanding OCS can take up to a year to get in so she's suggesting I apply for both but enlist now, go off to boot camp, pursue the IS route, and then I'd find out about my OCS results a year from now. My recruiter is saying my chances of OCS acceptance are 80% higher as enlisted vs. civilian too...
Any thoughts or suggestions on the best approach here? My degrees are in Human Systems Engineering and I have about 5 years of professional experience working with big companies/government contracts. I have a well-paying contract job now that I can work for the next year, so I'm not sure if enlsiting and going to boot camp is worth it or if I should take my chances with OCS acceptance as a civilian.
Thanks in advance for any insights!

2024.05.21 18:59 AverageRedditEnjoyr M-21: My Crush incidents which I still remember and love

This is not any kind of complete love story with any complete ending it's just collection of few incidents. I am just writing it on the run. I am using dummy name for her let's call her Shree.
So story starts in 7th standard I guess. Once day an aunty approached me while I was going for tution class that she wants to talk to my tuition teacher regarding admission of her daughter because their family recently got shifted to our near by society and while I go for tuition probably she might have seen me.
So from here story starts, next day Aunty was with her daughter "Shree" she introduced me with her and we went to tution as usual she was walking a little far behind us ( me and bro ) and following us to the tution because she didn't know the path but Idk what I had no feeling for her with first sight. Like for a month or two she was attending tution with us we almost never talked to each other because I am very shy person and same with her.
After that vacation started and I went to Mama ke ghar and idk what happened I stated to see her in my dreams like playing badminton in our society compound and talking with her so much and she was always cheering and happy in my dream I slightly thought about it that I might like her and eventually started falling for her.
Incident - 1 I started developing very little little feeling for her and one fine day I she came to me with some project work/ model she wanted to create a solar system with toys 😂 idk what was she expecting and she described the project so so un realistic with those material. I brutally told her that it's not possible like this ( I had no communication skills but I really liked her ).
Incident - 2 We used to play games in compound we have a common society compound ( very complex to understand ) and it was her bday she gifted me and all other kinds "Kaccha Mango" it was very special for me I exactly remember she gave me 3 and I kept in hidden pocket of my school bag and never ever ate it after like 1.5 years Chitiya ( Ant ) aa gai bag mai and I had to throw them I was very upset because like after 1 year of this "gift"(kaccha mango) her family shifted somewhere else it was her first and last gift to me.
Incident - 3 Once we were playing Hide and Seek ( Dabba is Spice idk what it's translation in english ) "Shree" , I and one small kid hide at same place. I saw her so very closely ( not in creepy manner ) her brown eyes was like coconut 😂. I was feeling that time should stop and I can see her indefinitely. If I try to describe more about her I have to make another post so leave it and back to the story. We exchange few words about our study nothing more and I tried to peek and see the status of the compound for the guy who was after us to find us and she told don't take a peek to me and as an obedient friend I instantly pulled back my head and it hit so hard in the corner of the wall that it instantly started to bleed. She started to get panic but I was very calm and said nothing happened to me ( I knew I was bleeding but still I wanted to spend more time with her đŸ« ). After that neighborhood of that building came and my parents and took me to hospital and I got stitches. While on my way and getting stitches all I was thinking was about her that she must be very scared because of this incident. After this incident Shree never came to compound to play with us.
Incident - 4 We totally lost each other's contact after she shifted another where then I saw in same complex where I was going to tution ( new tution not the older where we were together we changed in 9th standard and she before 9th ) and saw her in the stairs of the tution and I asked her "Do You remember me ?" Shree "No I don't" *Traumatic Background music player inside my heart - "Chann se jo toote sapna ...." * After like 5 seconds she laughed ( her smile was so so so much cute đŸ« đŸ˜ ) and said " Obviously I remember you " and we exchanged our last smile with each other.
I was scared of proposing her because I had literally 0.1 female interaction with anyone in my entire life and she was "Jain" so I thought she might tell her parents 😭 and never dared to purpose her. I still Miss her a lot and currently don't have any idea or contacts where can I find her but if "Shree" is reading this just i wanted to talk to you ( not going to propose you 😭😂💀 ) just " How are you? "😭
That's it guys that you for reading this I know it's not any well structured story but just my feelings. Thank you all for reading this much lots of love.

2024.05.21 18:55 Zerone06 Chinese Taoism holds a presence in Altaic mythology in the form of gender-based duality and creation

The famous symbol of Taoist cosmology, Yin and Yang, represents dualism in the principles of universal existence. But it also reflects the harmony within these two, that is, it also has a monistic side.
The Altaic creation saga is a cosmogonic "beginning of everything" text of the Turks and it contains elements influenced by Taoist principles.
Here is how it goes:
When there was nothing, there was only water. Ulgen was flying above the water, forever adrift, since there was no place to land. But one time, Ulgen heard a voice from within him, "Hold from below, grasp what lies before you!" With that, he reached out his hand. From the depths of the water, a piece of rock emerged. Ulgen alighted upon the land, but then he just rested on, for he knew not what to reach further. Then, Goddess Agine rose to the surface and adressed him: "Create, then! Say 'I did, it's done', or else, do not say 'I did, it's not done.'" And then, she disappeared. Leaving Ulgen alone with the deed of creation.
If we were talking about Greek mythology, this would probably end up in sex. But Agine enters the water and disappears, and the story continues in another way. Because Agine has fulfilled her role. Agine is the goddess who triggered Ulgen into creating. By saying "Say 'It's done,' or else, do not say 'It's not done,'" she teaches Ulgen to believe that something that is desired to happen will happen, in other words, affirmation, because cosmogonic texts (since everything is created for the first time) have an aspect of suggesting how the world should be. One other side is the power of logos But that's a whole another matter.
In short creation first comes from Agine here. Now, the connection of nature-related feminine energy and creation is not a first in mythology as it exists in almost every mythology, but here it's a bit different because Agine inspires the creator instead of, you know, taking from him and causing creation by herself. She inspires the act itself, now we can talk about the manifestation of a dual system of thought without relying on gender and birth as it usually happens in myths, but rather in a cosmological sense.
The heaven/earth concept is another concept of Turks which is also a part of this dual system of thought. In Chinese historical literature, we can see the term Tianxia (怩䞋), which means everything under the sky. So there is sky, and then there is what's under it. This is highly related to the Mandate of Heaven so it's a concept of mythology as well. Again, the usual translation of Tian in Chinese is Heaven so it's a divine thing. And from the Turks they usually refer to sky as Tengri. Dots are already connecting.
Anyways, let's continue with the saga:
An entity named Erlik emerged. Ulgen asked him who he was. Erlik declared his desire to gather soil and fashion it into an earth of his own, but this intention of him angered Ulgen. Erlik said that he would bring the soil to him if he kept his anger, Ulgen calmed down. Erlik then brought the soil. Ulgen took the soil and shouted: "What I have done will be!" and a piece of land was formed before him. Then he sent Erlik back to the bottom of the water again. This time Erlik only delivered some of the soil, but kept a piece in his mouth. However, the soil that Erlik kept in his mouth also grew larger and got stuck in his throat. When Ulgen asked why he hid the soil, Erlik answered that he wanted to create a place for himself. Ulgen got furious at his yet again attempt to rival his divine self. With fury, he banished Erlik, declaring he will never be able come to the surface again. Thus, Erlik remained underground forever, spreading diseases, torturing dead souls, and unleashing his curse.
Now here it resembles Greek mythology indeed. Erlik is similar to Hades as his role is ruling the underworld as the god of evil. But still, is the concept here really the one and the same as the clash between Zeus and Hades?
The distinction between good and bad is existent here that is obvious. But hear this: Although Erlik and Ulgen seem to be enemies in principle, they are actually complementary to each other. They are the two faces of creation, two faces of the same coin, just like how it was with Agine. The conflict between them is essentially conflict of territorial dominance of creation. While Ulgen represented the sky, Erlik wanted to take the earth, but when he couldn't, he was sent underground. Erlik is a complementary element of the creation since without under what there is cosmos can't fully shape.
Here is the explanation of Yin and Yang from Encyclopedia Britannica: Yin is a symbol of earth, femaleness, darkness, passivity, and absorption. Yang is conceived of as heaven, maleness, light, activity, and penetration.
As you can see, Yin and Yang contain not one, but all what is opposite. Therefore, we can clearly see Erlik's position on the opposite side of Ulgen, who, as heaven, represents Yang's properties. Now there are strong theories that Tengrism is a pantheistic religion. In the believed cosmological model of the Tengrism, all shapes from a tree and all what existence reaches is essentially bucketed in one. The elements of the universe are all connected to each other. So, while the model is like this, factors like the creation being formed from great contrasts and the universe's being still representing those opposite powers inevitably reflects the Taoist principles here. After all, Yin and Yang stand for Earth and Sky as well. Which is a clear core in Turkic belief as it could be understood from Orkhon inscriptions.
The saga ends as it follows:
Before getting imprisoned in the depths of the world, Erlik yearned for the most little piece of soil. Ulgen initially hesitated, yet Erlik pleaded so much, eventually he granted him the soil. But when Ulgen asked him what was his intention with the soil, Erlik plunged into the water, vanishing from sight.
As you can see, Erlik is indeed holds a part of creation in himself. It can be understood from here that the duality used by the Turks in their conception of the universe and creation is not dichotomous, but rather a form of harmony, and that it is probably related to Yin and Yang.

2024.05.21 18:55 Ayden1245 Is this discrimination based on NOT having children and is it legal?

Hi
I'll lay out a situation that I personally believe is a bit messed up, unsure on if it is illegal or not.
My workplace is in a betting shop with 6 staff, all female with the exception of myself who are all aged 45+ again with the exception of me (M,20).
I recently had a dispute with my manager about holiday allocation where the system is as follows
A form with every Week in the year is released and you just put up your name where you want it. I had a discussion with my direct manager who had said this was just a request form (which is true) and that people with kids would be prioritised over myself due to me being not having kids. Upon pushback my manager stated that we won't see eye to eye on this because I don't have kids myself. It is important to note that he is the one with the final say on who gets what holidays in my shop and directly makes every rota for the shop.
Other relevant information: I've worked here for 2 years come June. This is based in Scotland.
What I want to know is: is this legal to prioritise people with kids for benefits like holidays and if not what course of action would be possible?

2024.05.21 18:30 yelpvinegar The 7 Types of Startup Founders: Why It Matters To You

What’s the #1 thing every founder needs to know?

I’ll give you a few minutes to make a list — top of mind might include sales, marketing, technology, product management (especially product-market fit), technical skills, fundraising, team building, leadership, management, finance, and planning/executing strategic growth and scaling.
Sure
but, sorry, none of that is the correct answer. Because, of course, you know that founders typically are expected to be jacks of all trades. So yes, to all of the above, but that’s not the secret sauce.
The #1 thing every founder needs to know is
 themself.
Here’s the truth: founders start companies, and entrepreneurs build them. While not every entrepreneur is a founder (think franchise owners), every founder is an entrepreneur (at least initially).
If you’re like me, you are a forward-obsessed founder. That means where you are now is always building toward where you want to go. That person is always an entrepreneur. Once the company is started, you’ll do what it takes — including relinquishing control — to keep it growing.
Does that sting? We founders think of our companies as our babies, but statistics say we’re likely to be the ones kicked out of the nest. Also, research shows that in the US, only 14 out of the top selling 500 companies still have the original founder running the company. And the Harvard Business Review reports that most founders relinquish control long before their companies go public — and that four out of five are forced to step down as CEO.
It doesn’t have to be that way if you have one critical attribute: self-awareness. That way, you can decide as your company grows how you want to evolve your role in the overall day-to-day running of the company (i.e., learn, delegate, hire, move on). And ultimately, you can make better choices at critical growth junctures in your business progression.
So, to help you become more self-aware, it’s helpful to understand the different types of founders. Let’s dive in.

The Types of Founders

A couple of notes before we get into specifics:
The bottom line: knowing your strongest/weakest points is a critical piece of the self-awareness pie. That way, you can conduct your business in what I call the Green Zone — aka the Genius Zone, where you have both high passion and high competence — and make the best choices for you and your company.

1. The Solo Founder

Traits:
Benefits:
Pitfalls:
Example: Sara Blakely, Spanx Founder
Ten years ago, in 2012, when she was just 38, Sara Blakely became the world’s youngest self-made female billionaire. Her business, built on a significant industry gap (the lack of comfortable, effective shapewear) and her incredible sales hustle, also benefited greatly from Blakely’s abundant self-awareness. Here’s her advice to solo founders at a 2020 business conference:
“I tell people as soon as you can afford to hire your weaknesses, do it
As soon as I could afford to hire someone to do more of the operations side of the business, I did. As an entrepreneur, one of the biggest gifts you can give yourself is to stay in your lane.”
In other words, know what your Green Zone is and play there.
If you’re like Blakely, it’s usually big ideas and sales ability (she could easily qualify as a Visionary Founder, too) or operations and execution (what Blakely realized she needed help with).
Pro tip: If you’re a solo founder, you’ll likely want to lean into an entrepreneurial framework like the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) to help you define and settle into which side you skew toward.

2. The Visionary Founder (or Co-founders)

Traits:
Benefits:
Pitfalls:
Example: Steve Jobs & Steve Wozniak
Considering that Steve Jobs’ name is pretty much synonymous with “visionary,” I don’t think I need to list more than the products and industries Jobs’ revolutionized at Apple and beyond — Apple Computers, iPod (iTunes), iPad, iPhone, Pixar, iCloud — with many products and points in between. George Lucas, from whom Jobs bought the Graphics Group at Lucasfilm and renamed it “Pixar,” perfectly summarizes his superpower:
“The magic of Steve was that while others simply accepted the status quo, he saw the true potential in everything he touched and never compromised on that vision.”
Steve Wozniak was the technological yin to Jobs’ sales and marketing yang, bringing the vision of a computer with a graphic interface to life. From the visionary files, “Woz” also invented the first programmable universal remote and was an early innovator of wireless GPS (thanks to his clever dogs who routinely evaded electronic fences).

3. The Serial Disruptor

Traits:
Benefits:
Pitfalls:
Example: Elon Musk
Like him or loathe him, Elon Musk is perhaps the most prolific (and successful) serial founder of all time with startups including Tesla, SpaceX, The Boring Company, and Neuralink, among others. His drive to design opportunities to evolve humanity has redefined both hustle culture and the art of serial entrepreneurship.
For serial founders, having a set of principles is key to their success. In Musk’s case, his use of “first principles” — reducing a process to its essential parts — has served him well, from helping him figure out how to make rockets cheaper and reusable (SpaceX) to shifting the narrative of electric vehicles (Tesla).

4. The Engineer

Traits:
Benefits:
Pitfalls:
Example: Mark Zuckerberg
Much like the other examples I’m sharing, Mark Zuckerberg’s story has been widely told, so you probably know about his development of Facebook. But at his core, Zuckerberg is an engineering prodigy and geek. At just 13 in 1997, he built “ZuckNet,” which enabled the family’s home computers to communicate via Ping (a precursor of AOL’s Instant Messenger) with his father’s dental office computers. He was using AI in his senior year in high school, so the roots of his Meta(verse) focus today are apparent.
A common weakness for engineers is they tend to have a lower EQ, which has been well-researched. As a former engineer, I understand how logic and technology come easier than understanding human behavior. This is why tech founders should seek out mentors early and bring in competent leaders with high EQ and leadership skills — for example, Zuckerberg credits his former COO of 14 years, Sheryl Sandberg, for turning the company into a multi-billion dollar company.

5. The Personality Founder

Traits:
Benefits:
Pitfalls:
Example: Oprah
I’m using Oprah as an example, as her products are an outgrowth of her — her eponymous talk show, which ran for 25 years, the OWN network, O Magazine, her book club, and a variety of charitable endeavors comprise her vast empire. But of course, we know plenty of other personality brands that have racked up billions in sales and even transformed, from the Kardashians/Jenners, to Bethany Frankel and Ryan Reynolds (just watch Deadpool 3 to see his brands — coming in 2023).
In today’s age of influence, we’ve seen a surge of personality brands and founders who leverage built-in audiences and communities to scale quickly. All these names are business mavericks in their own right, but many didn’t start out this way — they deftly utilize their charisma and ability to entertain to shape their brands and pave the way to success.

6. The Accidental Founder

Traits:
Benefits:
Pitfalls:
Example: Yvon Chouinard
Patagonia founder Yvon Chouinard has been in the news lately for giving away his company to fight climate change. He’s an OG accidental entrepreneur whose passion for rock climbing led him to develop reusable pitons (rock climbing spikes) and, later, heavy-duty shirts. Famously Chouinard called himself a “dirtbag climber” and didn’t want to become a business mogul. Sixty-five years later, this accidental founder’s company is valued at $3 billion, and his latest innovation is a way of giving away the profits of a company to continue his contribution to society — protecting and preserving the natural world.
As I always say, there are riches in the niches, and accidental entrepreneurs are the leading type of founders to discover a marketplace with little or no competition.

7. The Intentional Founder

Traits:
Benefits:
Pitfalls:
Example: Jessica Alba
While Jessica Alba does have some touches of a Personality Founder (she is an actor) and an Accidental Founder (an allergic reaction to detergent made her worry about her new baby’s sensitive skin), she is an excellent example of an intentional founder. Back in 2008, when Alba had that allergic reaction, influencer marketing wasn’t what it is today — plus, she had some success but was by no means a household name. Ditto for eco-conscious consumer packaged goods — a plus, sure, but didn’t have the same urgency and importance it does today. Alba then spent years researching ingredients in everyday products and even went to DC to lobby for updates to the 1976 Toxic Substances Control Act. Convinced that consumers need safe, affordable, environmentally friendly products for kids and home, Alba launched The Honest Company in 2011.
Now, she did have seasoned co-founders, her own wealth to use out the gates, and VC support shortly after that, but it has always been Alba’s commitment to and alignment with the brand’s core principles that have kept the brand growing and thriving — today, as a publicly traded company with a 2021 $412.8 IPO.
What type of founder are you? Definitely feel free to share in the comments.

2024.05.21 18:23 Mobaster Should I adopt a second cat?

Should I adopt a second cat?
I am sure this has been asked countless times but I have some additional details specific to my situation that I think are important.
Should I adopt another cat?
Current cat brief description:
So, I rescued a 3-year-old void almost 3 months ago now. He is the sweetest boy with a great personality and he is getting used to and comfortable in his new home. he slowly transitioned from a wallflower cat to a mojito cat. Last time I had guests over he spent the evening roaming around demanding pets from anyone.
Reasons to adopt:
I live in a studio apartment with a somewhat big bathroom. I work part-time and I study at uni, hence I spend a good part of the day outside, usually from 10 am to 6 pm. I come home for lunch. He gets a good amount of daily pets and attention.
Pro to adopt:
  1. More cats.
  2. Ideally, my buddy would have someone to hang out with during the day while he is alone.
  3. More cats.
  4. My buddy does not currently play, like at all. I hope that maybe if the new cat does he will copycat.
  5. More cats.
Cons to adopt:
  1. My boy had some health issues that are not fortunately over. He has been diagnosed with a not-infective herpes variant that mainly causes eye ulcers when the immune system weakens for whatever reasons. He is FIV/FeLV negative. Maybe the stressed caused by a new cat could cause the problems to show up again.
  2. When I picked him up at the shelter I saw that other cats used to bully him around, I believe due to his chill nature. Since cat personalities are kinda of a gamble if my new cat, preferably a female, turns out to be a napolean she could attack my big boy (he is big but a pacifist).
  3. Additional costs (food, litter, vet, one-time purchase to buy individual equipment like carrier and litterbox). Currently, I can afford but who can tell in the long run?
  4. Maybe a studio apartment is too small for two cats? I did however build a big cat parkour trail on a wall, so I think this is the least of the issues.

MAGICKAL INFLUENCES AND PRINCIPLES OF HERMETICISM #Astrology #HermeticMagick #HermeticQabalah #Kabbalah #Qabalah
Hermeticism means religious and spiritual movement that took place after the Greek victory of Egypt lead by Alexander the Great in 332 BCE. Hermeticism is a term that frequents historical, occult and scholarly texts of all sorts.
In a nutshell, the Hermetic movement was a culturally mixed rejoinder to the syncretism of spiritual practices of the day, particularly the ancient Greco-Roman as well as the Egyptian religious systems. Cosmologies, philosophies and magickal practices from the mentioned systems and other blended and mingled, finally forming a unique drift of thought and practice. Actually, Hermeticism is not a “religion” by general definition but is better known as a spiritual and philosophical movement.
It is improbable to study the development of mysticism and magic in the Western world without some knowledge of Hermeticism. That is exactly why Pagans, Witches, magicians and occultists can hugely benefit from understanding a bit of the history. Ultimately, it is part of our own holy lineage!
The hermetic element includes astrology, alchemy, astronomy, spellcraft, natural magick, mystical philosophy, planetary magick, elemental magick as well as the metaphysical correspondences of incenses, herbs, gemstones, animals, days of the week, and body parts. Many occult and religious movements came up and kept growing, from Hermetic soil and practically all magickal ways have been affected to some extent by Hermeticism.

The Hermetic Threads

  • The Cosmic Egg
There are various curious odd crossovers and relationships between Greco-Roman culture, the traditional Jewish Kabbalah and the ancient Egyptian culture. For beginners, the symbolism of the Cosmic Egg exists in Greek mythology just like the Orphic Egg. The Greek myth is that the entire universe was birthed just from a silver egg. The egg is always portrayed with a serpent well coiled around it. Due to Egypt’s enormous impact on the Western world, it is quite probable that the Greeks borrowed this symbolism from the Egyptian story of creation.
In case the yolk of the Cosmic Egg is completely Positive (evident) Presence, its white or albumen, is similar to the Areas of negative being in the Kabbalistic sense.
The Tarot
Most occultists hold that the tarot has made its route to Europe from India as they came from Egypt. The studious consent is that the tarot was founded in Italy early 15th Century by the secretary to Filippo Maria Visconti (Marziano da Tortona). Nevertheless, a likely early Egyptian model for the cards, or at least some of their thoughts, has been proposed.
The Caduceus
Both Hermes and the Hermes Trismegistus are described as having the caduceus wand. Basically, the caduceus is a symbol that was used in ancient Greco-Roman advancement. It is described as a wand bearing a Ketheric light, wings at its top, as well as two snakes, are well curled around the rod. This snake imagery is comparable to the Vedic idea of the kundalini, which is a force of the human energy system expressed as serpents rising around the spine right from the base chakra and to the crown chakra. It is known that the esoteric education of kundalini is most widespread in Shakta Tantric schools of Hinduism.
Seven Principles of Hermeticism.
The seven principles of Hermeticism as known in new Hermetic thought are of critical concern to the spiritual practitioner due to their weight on the mind, body and spirit relationship.
Readers used to the contemporary witchcraft and other magickal practices are likely to appreciate esoteric crossovers in their own philosophical structure. The principles discussed, are quite fit for magickal lives and anyone adopting an emotionally inspired spiritual system.

1. The Principle of Mentalism
All things in actuality and physical being originate from the mental plane. Usually, the mind of humans is a representation of the supreme mind and is the root of all psychic and rational power. The only important thing, in actuality, is the mind- from which everything in existence derives.
With time, try actively changing your state of mind to understand how much your personal experience improves. This existential practice needs a lot of perseverance and a lot of practice; however, it can surely help us appreciate the power of thought.
2. The Principle of Correspondence
The principle states that as above, so below; as below, so above. This implies that existence is sustained through similar forces, being the source of spiritual mystery. The principles of one thing match with the principles of a different thing meaning that reality works just like a mirror.
How should you put this into practice?
Get to YouTube and try to watch some videos regarding the cosmos. Have a great time examining the universe, leaving to instill that natural sense of surprise we usually feel like kids. Later, study videos regarding quantum and atoms mechanics. Take into account how the Great above compares with the Great Below. With this, the incredible accomplishments might amaze you!
3. The Principle of Vibration
In reality, nothing is physically constant. Everything is vibrating or is a pattern of energy. Since nothing is fixed or static, the only constant changes. Everything is a sign of the Great Mind and the vibration is the basis that anything can live as its “own” separate thing (a river, a book, a thought, etc.) rather than remaining one.
To actualize this, get an old chipped cup, vase or plate that is no longer used. With the use of paint or a permanent marker, take the object and outline some of the magickal figures listed here. When you are set, go somewhere that you can release the object, enabling it to shatter. Once it is shattered, do some divination by checking the pieces to find out whether they form any symbol that is psychologically significant to you individually. In addition, think of the reality of transformation as the only constant in existence.

4. The Principle of Polarity
In this context, it is known that reality is duality. Just like the principle yin and yang (Taoist principle), this states that everything has its corresponding opposite though is a section of the same unity. Due to the fact that all of existence is polarized, both antithesis and thesis (one thing and its absolute opposite) are concurrently true and untrue— this is a global paradox that levels thoughts of absolutes in any sphere of life.
To put this into practice, you should study with a local college or school concerning public debates you may be capable of attending. Contrarily, check some debates online that you may personally feel an unbiased emotional response. Regardless of the type of debate, try to understand each party’s conflicting viewpoints. Is it likely that each party can be both wrong and right concurrently?
5. The Principle of Rhythm
Some occurrences like action and reaction, the ascent and descent of the tide of the sea as well as the life cycle of birth and the ultimate death account for the principle of rhythm. It insists that nothing ever lives as one of its polarities though it is always varying. Understanding this, an individual can consciously decide not to fall to one ultimate or another in any field of life.
To put this into practice, you need to test the elements. The responsive souls incarnated in a humans frame, we are just at the grace of the elements surrounding us. We need to always be balanced to keep a footing in life. Think of what it would seem or feel to run your finger fast through a candle flame for the sake of finding a threshold for some amount of pain. Also, imagine the methods we human beings harness electricity and fire to improve our lives, and how we need to keep a balance before it turns out as a force that can catch us. Be creative by rehearsing with your thresholds encompassing the components water, air, and earth—simply be careful!
6. The Principle of Cause and Effect
The principle states that nothing happens by chance; everything takes place because of something else. You can either decide to act as a social chess piece for others’ desires, whims, conditionings and norms or one can decide to both take power over and individualize their own thoughts, bodies, emotions, actions and experiences.
Here, you need to strategically rest in a sacred place and imagine about various seasons in your life where you may have “committed” some energy and could still be connected by an astral string that cuts through space and time. With the use of any suitable magickal tools, sever any hurtful energetic cordages from your body. Imagine them reverting to their individual space-time with a prominent blast of light and supply your body with this universal light as you deal with each connection. Go easy on yourself and remember that healing is a lifetime path.
7. The Principle of Gender
In reality, everything is a combination of feminine and masculine. The two forces occur separately or as an absolute. Everyone or everything is a blend of feminine and masculine energies instead of being one or the other, and its exhibition on the natural plane is individual’s biological sex- which can always be male, female or something in between.
Put this into practice by researching about typical gender expressions. Examine how various cultures throughout time have recognized non-cis-gendered groups, in both old and recent times. You can even choose to experiment with some cross-dressing to find out how it influences you spiritually and psychologically.

Stirling Engine Magnetic Version: Free Energy Potential
The Stirling Engine, a marvel of 1816, harnessed the principles of thermodynamics to convert heat energy into mechanical work. Traditionally, it utilized a burner to heat a cylinder chamber, causing expansion of the air inside and driving a piston. This cycle was complemented by a cooling phase, where cooler air helped reset the piston, enabling continuous motion. Over the years, this fundamental design has evolved into various sophisticated forms. Among the most intriguing modern adaptations is the magnetic Stirling Engine, which substitutes the thermal dynamics with magnetic forces, thereby offering the promise of a 'free energy' generator.
Stirling Engine magnetic version - Free energy

From Heat to Magnetism: A Paradigm Shift

The magnetic Stirling Engine represents a significant departure from its thermally-driven predecessors. Instead of relying on a temperature gradient to drive the piston, this version utilizes the attraction and repulsion forces between magnets. In essence, the magnetic field creates the push and pull dynamics required to move the piston, mimicking the heating and cooling cycles of the traditional Stirling Engine.
Experts suggest that while the magnetic engine will cease operation once the magnets lose their magnetism, high-quality permanent magnets can sustain their magnetic properties for many years, providing a long-lasting source of energy. This intriguing possibility opens up the debate on whether such an engine could be considered a form of 'free energy', operating without the continuous input of fuel or heat.

The Mechanics of the Magnetic Stirling Engine

To delve deeper into the mechanics, consider a hands-on tutorial that demonstrates the construction of this magnetic engine. The tutorial outlines the creation of a piston-cylinder setup where magnetic forces replace thermal processes. Critical to this setup is the precise alignment of the magnetic phases, typically set 90 degrees apart, to ensure that the push and pull forces alternate seamlessly.
Instructional video: Practical Guide: Free Energy Stirling Generator - Magnetic field version
The video tutorial covers the necessary equipment and tools, including small generators or brushless DC motors, LED lights for demonstration, actuators, and medical-grade cylinders and pistons. These components come together to illustrate how magnetic forces can be harnessed to produce mechanical motion, providing a practical guide to building a magnetic Stirling Engine.

Evaluating the Potential of Free Energy

The concept of free energy, often surrounded by skepticism, finds a potential ally in the magnetic Stirling Engine. If such an engine can operate indefinitely or for an extended period without fuel, it aligns with the ideals of free energy—an inexhaustible, low-cost energy source. However, the term 'free energy' must be critically examined. The initial construction and the quality of magnets are crucial factors that influence the engine's efficiency and longevity.
Moreover, while the magnetic Stirling Engine shows promise, it is essential to consider the physical limits and eventual degradation of magnetic materials. Despite these concerns, the prospect of a low-maintenance, long-lasting engine driven by magnetism is a compelling development in the quest for sustainable energy solutions.
The evolution of the Stirling Engine from a heat-based mechanism to a magnetic-driven system exemplifies the innovative strides in energy generation technologies. By leveraging magnetic forces, the magnetic Stirling Engine offers a fascinating approach to achieving continuous motion without the constant input of heat or fuel. While it may not be the elusive 'perpetual motion machine', its potential to provide a reliable and long-lasting energy source warrants further exploration and development.
For those interested in the broader spectrum of free energy generators, the article "Stirling Engine and Free Energy Generators" on the KINETIC POWER SYSTEM Blog provides a comprehensive overview, highlighting the diverse and creative approaches to harnessing energy sustainably. As technology advances, the magnetic Stirling Engine could play a significant role in the future of energy innovation.
Generating electricity using ancient technology (more than 100 years old) has been suppressed by technology monopolies:
  • Mechanical configurations and circuit diagrams are like a solution to the IQ puzzle of classical physics. It involves thinking beyond the dogma of science and the primitivism of Newtonian billiard ball physics.
  • Electricity is generated from devices as small as rabbits, which then charge multiple batteries and feed into an inverter to produce AC current (60Hz; 220V/110V). Electricity is continuously generated throughout the day and week (24/7) and up to years. This device, with a diagram as small as a rabbit, serves as a solution to an IQ puzzle when considering classical mechanical physics and Overunity electronic circuits.
  • If you understand the nature of the problem from that solution, then you can create a large generator for an entire business! Therefore, the design must be modest; otherwise, it will create a conflict of interest with energy corporations: 👉 Unlimited Power Generator

2024.05.21 17:54 sparkyvision What horse's ass at Maytag / Kitchenaid decided that the "Microfiltration wash system" filter should be buried and inaccessible?

Model: Kitchenaid KDPM604KPS0
Error: E1F9
After cleaning out the tub of some grime, I noticed some food buildup on the water inlet assembly on the side. I dissolved that with some Drain-O, because there was nothing that could fit into the small plastic "water maze". That didn't fix the error, so I finally resorted to taking off the entire drain and sump assembly and removing the microfiltration system. Despite their claims that the water is "continuously filtered", do you suppose the filter might have been gummed up? Oh yes.
https://imgur.com/x01VXKm
https://imgur.com/Ilkt6JF
Dishwashers have a lot of crud that go through them. Their internal testing should have shown that buildup of food was a definite possibility. I had to pull the entire dishwasher out, flip it on its back, and find the service manual to disassemble and remove the entire goddamn sump and drain assembly, then disassembled that to get at the filter, for which there is no manual, or assembly diagram, or any such thing. Hopefully I put it back together the way it was intended.
https://imgur.com/tBdMm86
Fuck you, KitchenAid. Make your shit easier to repair.
For anyone else coming after me, if you're getting the E1F9 error (tub drain error) and no obvious obstruction, it's very possible your microfilter is all gummed up. I found the service manual here.
[Edit: I do indeed regularly run Afresh packets through the dishwasher to clean it out.]

My mom is scared she's pregnant please help (Tw marital Sa)
Hi so i hope some kind stranger can help me with this messed stuation.
she has a history with SA especially because of her own dad my grandpa
To simplify, my mom is 39 anand and she had a IUD put in 2015 and for as long as I remember my mom had very strong periods, strong migraines etc( I genuinely don't know much about the female reproductive system since im Intersex and infertile by default) but shes been getting shots from her gyno and she says she pretty much never bleeds and additionally she had a miscarriage when I was 7 so in 2012. I'm really scared for her since the ,,,insemination" was not really consensual (I don't want to ramble too much about it but it's roug) she's been suffering since the day it happened (4days ago) at what point can she take a pregnancy test? I'm pretty sure the odds are slim considering everything but a pregnancy would mess her up mentally and physically and I feel really lost and I feel so useless as her child just unable to make her feel better... PLEASE ANYBODY any input would help
🔮WHAT HAPPENED AND FAMILIES PERSONALITIES: my mother has ocd and bipolar and she tends to blame herself and internalize whenever something bad happens to her. She needed my dad to do a big task but he refused, she impulsively said she'd let him have seggs with her if he does the task. My mom told me she felt dirty and empty the whole time and she blames herself for offering it but to me the blame is totally on dad since he should know when she's uncomfortable and I don't know how to support her mentally since she feels really embarrassed talking to her child about it. She's the sweetest human on earth no debate and my heart is literally shattered I'm begging to god someone reads this messy essay I write with shasiblessedfd s

2024.05.21 17:41 Sijima Declining Birthrates are not Driven by Economy

Most of the developed world is struggling with declining birth rates, in some societies like South Korea and Japan, it is an existential crisis that threatens the integrity of the economy and military and even national survival.
The usual retort is that this is the consequence of capitalism: stagnating wages, exploding cost of living, limited and expensive housing, poor support for families with expensive healthcare, daycare, no parental leave.
However is this true? The trend of collapsing birth rates is consistent across economies including places like Scandinavia that arguably has the best social support systems in history, there is no obvious difference from strictly capitalistic societies. In fact I am not familiar with any examples where government support significantly spiked the birthrate.
This trend holds within nations as well. If the primary driver is economy you would expect increased fertility with income. In reality fertility is highest in the poorest demographics and declines steadily until a tiny bump in the top 1-2%, the trend only reversed over 500K income and even then just barely.
Most likely the primary driver for low birthrates is not economy. Rather it is simply the consequence of women having access to education and workforce, combined with sex ed, birth control, and abortion successfully divorcing sex from reproduction. In addition there is a general weakening of pro natalist forces in society such as religion, spread of antifamily world views, and modern advents in electronic entertainment and social media that result in more people living a solitary life.
It is unlikely the trend can be reversed by any amount of government incentives to have kids. The only regions resisting the trend are third world nations where kids are needed to support the family, and religious societies where women have little access to birth control, abortion, education, and careers outside the home. Short of developed nation's governments radically suppressing women's rights, there is nothing much they can do about declining birthrates.

Chapter
CHAPTER 1
What's in a name
Some religions are named after it's main prophet. Christianity is named after christ. Buddhism is named after Budda.
I, Zach Harris, dub this religion HARRISy.
Where is it written that a religion can't have a sense of humor?
HARRISy is not a spoof or sarcasm.
But any religion without a sense of humor, absolutely NEEDS to be ridiculed.
I was raised in christianity. So most of my criticism will be aimed at the Abrahamic religions.
I intend to build harrisy on logic and reason. Not the superstition, lies, and, threats that the Abrahamic religions are built on.
As an alternative for conscientious objectors caught in the religious wars (see chapter 6).
Deities are not really necessary for inspiration or religion. An all-powerful creator wouldn't need the help or adulation of puny mortals.
Only cults and human puppet masters need that. So we leave deities to their own devises. They ought to be up to it.
Harrisy is a religion about/for humans, as religions should be.
My leadership skills suck. So I will avoid leading, to avoid becoming a cult.
Chapter 2
A bunch of rules
Everybody hates rules. But let's establish what Harrisy stands for.
10 rules is a nice round number. But when the first four are about loyalty to the cult, You have to question who the rules are meant to benefit.
The christian 'commandments' only benefit the christian cult. The commandments don't even benefit their god.
A true all-powerful, immortal, creator god, would not need human worship or loyalty. The same as humans don't need the worship of ants.
We don't make rules for ants to follow. Just stay out of our way. The Abrahamic god treats us like ants. Either ignores or steps on us. It was his cults that made the 'commandments', not their god.
(more about that in chapter 7)
Harrisy has rules to live by, to benefit HUMANS:
A) Cause no harm.
B) Treat others the way you want to be treated.
Christianity calls this 'The Golden Rule' as if they invented it. But this was part of every culture and religion that humans ever created. (except Is-lame)
C) Do not kill. Do not kill humans.
Self preservation may override this, but killing is still a bad idea.
When killing animals for food, respect their sacrifice. Killing for sport is a bad idea.
D) People are not property.
Do not try to own others, in any sense.
You belong to yourself, do not give yourself away.
E) Do not steal.
You would not want to loose your stuff. (see B) Stealing harms others.
F) Do not lie. Avoid those who lie.
You would want to know the truth. To make better decisions. (see B)
G) Do not rape.
Do not force yourself on others. Your pleasures are not more important than other people's.
This applies to more than just sex. Do not force your religion on others. Do not force harrisy on others.
H) Do not shit wherever you please.
You don't want to slog through other people's shit.
(it's a metaphor.) Leave the world better than you found it.
I) Guard your privacy. Respect the privacy of others.
Beware of others who might use info against you. Or might unduly profit off you.
We have no rules about loyalty. We understand loyalties change. Just be honest (rule E)
We have no rule specifically about Adultery. Adultery might be considered loyalty, which changes.
Or adultery might be considered stealing, stealing affection. (rule D)
Chapter 3
Secrete origins
No one knows how/why it all began. Anyone who says they know, for certain, is lying.
The answer might as well be 42.
Most religions make it a crime to ask questions about their creation myths. This promotes ignorance. Helps the cult, not the people.
We understand the 'scientific method'. Scientists ask questions and are willing to test and adapt to new info.
So, for now, we trust scientific conclusions about the beginnings.
The current best theories from science:
The universe started from what they humorously call 'The Big Bang', about 13.8 Billion years ago.
Many are curious about what came before that. But we find that to be irrelevant to our everyday life.
Some religions say their god did it so they can claim payment/gratitude/worship for it. But we owe them nothing.
The earth was formed about 4.5 Billion years ago.
Humans evolved from other critters over many, many, many Generations (not years).
Some religions claim their god did it so they can claim payment/gratitude/worship for it.
We do not owe Harrisy or any religion for our existence.
Chapter 4
The end
How does it all end?
No one knows. Anyone who says they know, for certain, is lying.
Christinity predicts a bad acid trip. (See Revaluations) Any day now. So buy your ticket to heaven early.
It's an obvious con, You sacrifice this life you already have, for the promise of another life they can't prove.
Science predicts 'Entropy'. Every atom in the universe will drift away from every other till they can't react any more.
But humans will be dead or evolved into something we can't recognize, by then. Too distant, time-wise, to worry about.
Your personal end? What happens when you die?
Most probably nothing.
Seems like every religion has a different 'afterlife'. They can't all be right. (but they can all be wrong)
You can't pick the one you want. If an 'afterlife' exists it is what it is. WE can't control it. No cult can control it.
The cults are telling you what you want to hear. So you give your CURRENT LIFE to their cult. The life that is certain, in exchange for an empty promise.
No guarantees, No refunds, You won't get your old life back if they are wrong (or lying).
Pascal's gamble is a sucker bet. It never pays out.
Harrisy aims to make This Current Life better, worth living for it's own sake. We give priority to This Current Life over any theoretical 'afterlife'.
Chapter 5
Everybody's favorite topic: SEX
What's the point of Sexual Taboos?
Why would an IMORTAL (non-sexual, non-reproducing) being give a damn?
For example in the christian cult:
*Masturbation is sin,
*Spilling your seed outside the womb is sin,
*Marrying outside the church is sin,
*Divorce is sin,
*Birth Control is sin,
*Abortion is sin,
*Marriages without offspring are invalid.
*Brand (circumcise) your males, so your females know who they are allowed to mate with,
And in Is-lame, Women are just sexual slaves.
Taken as a whole,
The only purpose served by sexual taboos, is to help the CULT out-populate rival cults.
A REAL "creator god" wouldn't give a damn. Or Wouldn't need our cooperation. it would just create more of us, as needed.
A REAL creator wouldn't threaten us, it would just change us.
Sexual Taboos are serving a cult, not a god.
Harrisy has only one sexual taboo:
Rule G) Do not rape.
Do not force yourself on others. Your pleasures are not more important than other people's.
Chapter 6
The 2000 year war
The Abrahamic religions have been at war with each other for about 2000 years. Sometimes hot, sometimes cold.
But like some other religions, at all times attempting to be 'the one true religion'. And by their competition, doing more harm than good.
And the Abrahamic religions haven't even shown that the 'good' stuff needs their religion to get done.
They preach that it is somehow noble or their duty to spread their faith. ("Onward Christian Soldiers")
There are dangers associated with proselytism and/or evangelicalism:
(Please note - I had help with the following)
Focus on Conversion over Service:
Proselytism/evangelicalism prioritizes conversion goals over humanitarian or service-oriented activities.
This undermines the credibility and effectiveness of religious organizations engaged in charitable work,
as it is perceived as conditional or insincere.
Dogmatism and Exclusivity:
Evangelicalism/proselytism promotes a rigid, dogmatic interpretation of religious beliefs that excludes other perspectives.
This exclusivity leads to intolerance of differing viewpoints and hinders constructive dialogue and cooperation with people of other faiths or worldviews.
Coercion and Manipulation:
Proselytism/evangelicalism involves coercion, manipulation, or exploitation of vulnerable individuals,
such as offering material incentives or exploiting power differentials to induce conversion.
This raises ethical concerns about respect for autonomy and informed consent.
Political Activism:
Evangelicalism/proselytism has been associated with political movements that prioritize specific social or moral issues, leading to controversy and polarization.
this politicization blurs the lines between religion and politics, compromising the integrity of both.
Interfaith Tensions:
Proselytism/evangelicalism contributes to interfaith tensions and conflicts, especially when it is aggressive or disrespectful to members of other religious communities.
It will undermine efforts to foster mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation among different faith traditions.
Fragmentation of Communities:
Proselytism/evangelicalism leads to the fragmentation or division of communities, particularly in contexts where multiple religious groups coexist.
This creates social tensions and weaken social cohesion, especially when proselytism is conducted in a confrontational or divisive manner.
Proselytization and Missionary Work:
We are concerned about aggressive or coercive methods used in proselytization/evangelicalism efforts,
especially when targeting vulnerable populations or in multicultural contexts.
This leads to cultural imperialism or disrespect for the autonomy of individuals and communities.
Cultural Insensitivity:
Proselytism/evangelicalism disregards or disrespects the cultural and religious traditions of the target community.
This leads to cultural imperialism or colonialism, especially when proselytism/evangelicalism is conducted in contexts where there is a history of exploitation or marginalization.
Misrepresentation or Simplification of Beliefs:
Proselytism/evangelicalism involves oversimplification or misrepresentation of religious beliefs and practices in order to make them more appealing to potential converts.
This leads to misunderstandings or misconceptions about the beliefs and traditions of the proselytizing religion.
For these reasons we conscientious objectors to the religious war, need an uncompetitive religion like Harris-y.
But don't push it.
Chapter 7
Humans and gods
Why do human religions have gods that are all too human?
A creator of everything that needs humans to wright/publish a holy book?
An all powerful god who needs humans to promote him?
An all powerful god with a vindictive human sized ego?
An immortal who is obsessed with human reproduction?
An all powerful god who needs humans more than we need him?
Any actual god wouldn't need human religion.
Harrisy serves humans, not gods.
Chapter 8
Parables
Corn In A Cow Patty.
Finding truth in the Abrahamic holy books,
is like finding corn in a cow patty.
Sure there are some good kernels in there,
but is it really worth digging through the shit to find them?
You can find uncontaminated kernels of truth anywhere.

2024.05.21 17:07 throwaway039474839 Should women go to university young in western nations?

I'm purple pilled for reference.
Sending women to university as the expected route for most women is a mistake by society imo.
Almost all women will want to have children at some point. And this (statistically) will be sometime between 28-40 years old. Mostly around that 30-35 mark.
Almost all women I know who went to uni have done one of these things:
Get a useless degree, and don't work in something relevant to said degree ever in their life. Or get a degree like psychology, but only take it to the bachelor level, making it effectively useless.
Bonus points for the girls who go just for the party vibes and drop out or barely pass their degree while ruining their physical and mental health. Guys are guilty of this too.
OR
Get a valuable STEM degree, (eg doctor) which takes 9 years to finish. Meaning they finish up at 27 at the earliest. Work for a couple years then start popping kids. Which leads to one of 2 situations. The mother quits the workforce entirely, making their degree and the countries investment in it worthless, to raise their child properly, or continues working and raises a fucked up child due to not being available and being burnt out from work.
It would make more sense for women to have their kids young in peak fertile years, between 23-28, then go study once the youngest is 5 (school). This would have a girl having her last child at 28 start studying at 33. A mother of 33 years is so much more mature and disciplined to study than a girl of 19.
So she would finish her degree at 42 if she chooses to be a doctor, with a far better completion rate I would imagine than the equivalent 18 year old, and has over 20 years in the workforce. Girls who get degrees, leave jobs for kids, then try rejoin often find their skills out of date and struggle to rejoin the workforce. Also a part of gendered pay gap is because companies expect women to have kids and possibly leave. If they have already had their kids this is no longer an issue.
A lot of women put reproduction off too late, statistically most women overestimate their fertility, and overestimate the amount of children they will have in their life.
Finally, it makes dating much easier for girls. A lot of girls with degrees price themselves out of the dating market.

How Does PotentStream Work?

One of the factors that causes conditions such as BPH or benign prostatic hyperplasia in men is aging. Changes in testicular cells and uncontrollable growth of these cells can cause prostate enlargement. They are usually common in men over 50. However, the latest reports show that symptoms of BPH began to appear in men who were in the late 1930s and early 1940s.
The reason why HPB appears in young men is due to toxins that enter the body through water or food. It has been observed that water contains microscopic materials, such as minerals such as calcium carbonate, microplastics or medical waste. These materials accumulate deposits in the urinary system and also cause enlargement of the prostate. Common symptoms of BPH include frequent urination, impaired urination, inability to completely empty the bladder, and urinary tract infections.
Potent Stream Drip cleans toxins and residue deposits in the bladder. It helps reduce the inflammation caused by these toxins and restore the normal functioning of the bladder.
The formula also helps keep prostate cells healthy and prevents them from further developing. By eliminating toxins, the supplement blocks any leakage of urine and stops frequent urination. Therefore, the formula supports the healthy functioning of the prostate, kidneys and urinary tract.

2024.05.21 16:43 Sea_Battle_7786 A rough drawing of my visitors

Hey guys 👋 I recently started drinking Passion Flower tea and smoking Blue Lotus in hopes of it help expand my consciousness and connect me to higher realms. After having both here and there for a few days I started having extremely vivid dreams and recollections of humanity and strong knowing feelings of things to come. Intuition and akashic records have been flowing beautifully since I've began and I wanted to share it with you all 💗
I saw this "male" and "female" in my door way a few nights ago and I didn't physically move but internally freaked out in fear (the joys of extreme conditioning still working through the system) 😂 so it lasted only briefly enough for me to understand what I was seeing. They took the form of humans (not solid matter) to help me not freak out but I could tell they were just pure energy and they had little balls of light glowing round them and the most piercing eyes.
Anyways here's my best interpretation of how they looked and this was the position they were stood in.
Love and Light 💚

PVB Overflowing When Irrigation Valve Opens
Hi there, I couldn’t figure out how to add this video to previous post.
Basically my PVB valve that has irrigation valves downstream intermittently overflows when valve initialized. The PVB is mounted 15” above tallest sprinkler when in “up” position.
Only unconventional aspect of this install is that this line is coming off hose bib in backyard (downstream of other house faucets/connections).
I’ve flushed the PVB as well as took it apart to inspect/clean. Nothing fouled/broken from what I saw.
I will post diagram of the system in comments.
Any help appreciated!!!

2024.05.21 16:24 Browncoat101 Tips for Aspiring DevOps/Cloud Engineer

(Thanks to TechnicalMau for the suggestion of making my own post!)
I saw a post recently where OP asked about female DevOps/Cloud Engineers, and I am actually looking to get into that field after working in IT for the past 5 years. My most recent experience is as an IT Systems Admin for two years before getting laid off. I'm currently getting an AWS cert, and will also be working on my Azure cert as well. Any tips for a Jr. DevOps person just starting out? What path would you recommend for finally reaching a DevOps position?

2024.05.21 16:06 damurphy72 Constellation Members and the End Game

Some thoughts occurred to me about the members of Constellation and Unity. This is absolutely going to be filled with massive spoilers. Every member of Constellation plays an important role in the story and has interesting ramifications.
The members of Constellation, ignoring Vasco, include Matteo, Vladimir, Noel, Walter, and the four companions Sarah, Barrett, Sam, and Andreja. Bethesda has given us a deliberate cross-section of the Settled Systems population. You have the former Crimson Fleet pirate, the Akila scion, the Va'ruun agent, the former UC officer, the Freestar industrialist, the Universalist religious guy, the scientist, and the "rogue." Actually, let's not ignore Vasco. The role of AI in this game is VERY ominous in a lot of ways, so Vasco may someday have more of a role than just "companion without strong opinions or personality."
The non-companion members are pretty non-intrusive, though Walter does have a field mission. I suspect that if you're going to have a talent like Armin Shimerman, you want to give him something to work on. Every time I see the interaction between Walter and his wife Issa, I want to find somebody who thinks the writing in this game is bad and hit them with a water balloon filled with maple syrup. Going back to the end-game topic, though, Walter serves as a perfect example of the biggest practical drawback of going through the Unity. He doesn't want to jump because he is rich, and going through means you lose ALL your stuff. It's a pretty sound thing to have somebody call this out explicitly for the player so they don't jump and be like, "wait, where's my customized starship filled with loot?"
Noel and Matteo are interesting in terms of their role. They very much serve as the sounding boards for the scientific and spiritual aspects of the artifacts, temples, and the Unity. Neither of them want to jump because they still have things to do. At first, my impression of them was that they were pretty much pointless once you learn what's really going on with the Starborn. I've reconsidered that, because we very much know what is happening, but not how or why. Ultimately, Noel and Matteo may be the most sensible members of Constellation by knowing what they don't yet know and refusing to leap into the unknown just because an angelic or demonic space dude with super powers tells you to do so.
Vladimir is unfortunately the quest-giver of the group. He's key to sending you along to the artifacts and temples...and the fact that you have to keep going back to him is a common complaint because it gets a little tedious. His role as the quest-giver also tends to overshadow his background with the Crimson Fleet, which I think is a missed opportunity when you're working for SysDef and infiltrating them. Vladimir Sall is the perfect example of an interesting premise that for some reason has largely been relegated to just being one of the mechanics of the game. He has some interesting things to say and a house you can visit, but I can't help but see him as a missed opportunity.
Now we have the four human companions, and it's interesting to me that they divide neatly into two categories. You have Sarah and Barrett on one side and Sam and Andrea on the other. What do I mean by that?
Sarah and Barrett are the most engaged in the Starborn world. Barrett can actually get powers and the Emissary turns out to be a version of Sarah (I did say MAJOR spoilers, didn't I?). What's really interesting, though, is that both of their companion quests are about dealing with the past. Sarah is dealing with the aftermath of her fighting in the war, while Barrett is dealing with the loss of his husband. They're trying to get closure. They have things they need to finish up before going on their next big adventure. They're also both somewhat disconnected from others. Sarah isn't really close with her surviving parent and she doesn't want any of the other members of Constellation at her wedding. Barrett travels alone with a robot and has since the death of his husband. Even the combat in their companion quests involves fighting alien animals rather than other people (because fighting is a form of engagement). The two of them are pretty much setting themselves up to be ready to move on.
Sam and Andreja are in the opposite situation. Sam's companion mission is about dealing with his ex-wife and daughter. Andreja's is about her relationship with her people (and is blatantly left on a cliff-hanger for DLC). In both of their quests, you are fighting other people -- syndicate thugs or zealots -- because both of these characters are still actively involved in this universe. Sure, indications are that both will eventually jump (assuming they survive), but neither of them is ready to move on at this point. Their acceptance of you jumping even seems a little forced to me, like they're agreeing solely for reasons of plot.
What I wonder about is whether or not this dichotomy with the companions was deliberate. You have a male and a female who need closure and are ready to jump and you have another male and female who are very much still actively engaged in life in this universe. Was the idea to give players a romance option with the preferred gender and perspective combination?
I have a sneaking suspicion that a tremendous amount of effort went into crafting the members of Constellation. Even if you find them annoying, I would suggest playing at least a few universes straight with them and seeing what they have to say. It's great that Bethesda gives you the option to ignore them, but there is a lot built up around them and I have to wonder how the eventual "resolution" of the whole Starborn premise may play into what we learn in our first play-through.
