2024.05.29 10:39 Robipalmi_ I Joined A Health Program That Allows You To Eat all You Want

My mom keeps a scrapbook of photos holding several memories. Every photo that I was in followed the same pattern, at least until I turned 22. In these memories, I would be in the backyard running around with Trevor with my shirt off. Trevor is our family pit bull. Thank you very much. My body devoid of fat or muscles would expose the outline of my ribs. My arms would dangle by my hips, and my grin in need of braces would present no charm.
All the way up till my third semester at community college, I thought I would have this exact physique until I died. Christ, do I now wish I could have still lived out that past insecurity.
My usual school appetite of zero sugar Gatorade and a side of apple slices had ceased a bit later on.
I didn’t suddenly have an epiphany where I looked down at my hollow exterior and realized that I should start putting more food in my system from then on. Nothing like it at all.
My mother had called me. The things she said… her voice. God, it was a cry that sent a shockwave through my body.
At around 2PM, my father had a heart attack. Tragic, but it hadn’t been unexpected. Like what my body would later become, he too was on the heavier side.
He spent most of his last few years on earth breathing through an oxygen mask while he sat in a wheelchair on the backyard deck.
After I had watched the man, my childhood hero, eat himself to death, lowered 6 feet under within a casket as my mom and I cried our souls out, it would have been the best time to use it as motivation to hit the gym. This hadn’t occurred. Weeks after the funeral, I had spent countless checks at nearby fast-food joints.
The passenger seat of my car had filled up with empty food bags, wrappers, and several unfinished cups of vanilla-flavored coffee drinks. Don’t even get me started on the piss bottles underneath my bed. I was considered being a lazy and heavy individual.
After I clocked out from one of my shifts during the late afternoon, I had passed a local burger joint on my way home. For once, a spark of willpower had shined inside me. I drove past the location and had congratulated myself when I pulled up to my childhood home. That hadn’t lasted long.
When night came, I had driven back to the place and feasted down on two double doubles with a side of chili cheese fries. It embarrasses me to admit it, but I spent the next 2 minutes sobbing alone in my car as I finished the second burger. Humiliation over my weight hurt like fire. Unfortunately, comfort food didn’t seem to hurt until it went down my throat.
A few days later, I had received an ad on my laptop about a health program. I had been scratching Trevor’s belly as I spent my time browsing random YouTube videos.
That was when it popped on the right side of the screen. It had been a website that involved a program that specialized in healthier lifestyles. Yet… the company presented a routine where you could eat all you want. You wouldn’t have to cut out all of the good… unhealthy stuff from your diet. You didn’t even have to work out.
As much as I would love to say that my future downfall would be for not reading the entire agreement of the website, that was not the reason. Aside from the no diet nor exercise for weight loss promise, I hadn’t noticed any red flags regarding the program. I typed out my information on the contact form below and didn’t hear anything for two days. That’s when I got the call. A woman with a friendly voice had spoken on the other end. She set up a time and a date for when I could stop by the location.
May 7th…
When I arrived at the building, I had noticed that the parking lot had been entirely filled up. I ended up parking at a local hiking trail on the other side of the street. When I made my way towards the location, a three story bricked building surrounded by spruce tress, I took note of the vehicles. While some of them appeared okay when it came to cleanliness, others had not. They were covered in thick coats of dust, along with the several dried and white droppings of bird shit.
When I entered the building, I filled out a form at the front desk, and a male worker in scrubs wrote me a room number: 213. I found the room after going up to the second floor. I’m surprised I hadn’t taken note of how isolated the place felt. There was also a loud flushing sound from beyond the walls. It was the kind of noise you’d hear behind the door of a public restroom when you walked by.
I found the room and waited inside. The pictures on the walls made me turn away and gag as soon as I realized what they were. There were several photographs of hands holding the removed and gold-like fat from patients. For some, it may have been motivating. For me, I was ready to lose my lunch.
It hadn’t been long until a thin woman with dyed blue hair entered the room and smiled. We talked for a bit about my weight. What was in my usual diet, and if I had always been this particular weight.
She then took a file off a nearby table and pulled out a trio of photos. The first image showed a brown and boxlike metallic belt. There were a pair of large and white tubes sticking out from both sides, and in the middle, was what looked like a clear and round glass casing. The second photo had been of an obese man standing behind a brown backdrop, presumably around 300 pounds. If I didn’t stop eating what I ate, I might have ended up looking like him. The third and final photo had been the same man. This time, he had slimmed down, and was even putting on muscle.
The female worker smiled and told me that the man hadn’t worked out or changed his diet at all. What shocked me even more was when she told me that his eating habits had become worse, and yet he still had what I considered “the ideal male physique.”
The woman told me the machine was a device that helped suppress the weight of the patients in the facility. I didn’t have to hear anything else. It was unintelligent of me to not ask any other questions, yet that fantasy… my old body . . maybe even one that was better than before.
The worker opened the door, and we went down the hall and into a room through a pair of yellow and metallic doors. There was a chair and a metal table off to the right. There, the device sat. I also took notice of a brown door connected to the room. It didn’t matter then. All I wanted was the damn weight to go away.
The woman asked for me to remove my shirt, and she sat me down in the chair and begin to set up the device. She hooked up the belt from the machine around my waist. I closed my eyes and began to cry a little.
Earlier, I had thought about stopping my vehicle, and go back home and forget the entire program. For all I knew, they could have just been a group of scammers that wanted to harvest my organs. No… I needed this. This fantasy had to become true. If I opened my eyes a little quicker, I would have noticed the woman pointing a syringe towards my neck…
I had woken up in a dazed state. The lights had been on in the large room, and yet my surroundings weren’t the first thing I noticed. The aroma stung my nostrils.
It was like I had been thrown into a nonworking trash compactor. No crushing at all… only the smell of waste. I wretched so hard that I felt a migraine coming along. That’s when I saw the other patients.
From all around, there were several men and woman, all of different ages. They were strapped down in metallic chairs. They too had been wearing the same contraption I had around my waist. Their weight had grown far beyond from what a living person could take.
Incisions had been made just above their hips, and those tubes from the machines had been forced within the cuts. A fluid of yellow, red.. and brown was being sucked out of their bodies, and disposed from within the belt-like machine, then down holes imbedded in the ground in front of their seats. There had also been metal buckets placed below their exposed buttocks. That’s when I realized the smell had not been garbage and waste, but excrement.
Some of patient’s bodies hadn’t been heavy at all. Loose skin from their faces and limbs hung below the chairs, and it continued on a bit before stopping at their shoes. On the other end of the room, there was that same brown door.
Nurses came in and out carrying large trays of fast food, desserts, and several packs of soda cans. The first thing I thought would happen was that the patients would knock the food out of the workers hands, and use the remaining energy they had to break out of their prison. Instead, they only looked up at the nurses without saying anything, and began to grab at the food before stuffing it into their mouths and barely chewing.
There had been that vacuum sound, the one that I heard beyond the walls from earlier. The machines had turned on, and the suction of the tubes began. Groans echoed throughout the room. I heard someone to the right throw their head forward and vomit. I looked down at my body. Like everyone else, incisions had been made just above my hips where those tubes had been placed.
These people, the owners of those dust covered vehicles… they didn’t seem like they wanted to leave. Had they been here for months? Stuffing their faces, having these meals and fat pumped out of their body after it hit their stomachs?
I imagined my future, the despair of my mom as she wondered where I had gone. Even if she found my car outside this building in the future, it would be too late for when she came back with a bunch of armed police men. Would she find my body, either heavier than she had ever seen me or any other human, or twig thin with all my excess skin hanging all the way to the floor?
What if I too accepted this life, and decided to enjoy the rubbish these workers would continue to feed me until my heart would give out? It’s sad to note that most of these things later happened. My mom had tracked down the location, and the building had been swarmed to the brim with a swat team and cruisers. They had found my body near death, frail with loose skin that stretched on.
Although all of this happened so long ago, I still can’t think about it without wanting to burst into tears. I’ve been a part of a rehabilitation center for a while now. After everything that I went through, my body will never become the ideal figure that I’ve always wanted to have.
Writing all of this down helped a little thankfully. I might show it all to my psychologist tomorrow morning. If I did indeed present it to them, I’ll probably post this online as well. If anyone on Reddit or face book is reading this right now, I hope that you can all look past the grotesque aspect of my life story. If any of you have been struggling with weight insecurities, I hope that you’ll be kinder to yourselves. Don’t let it drag you down. If you do want to get into better shape, I shall cheer you on.
Also, my mom’s mental health has been improving since then, and if I’m lucky enough, I can come back home and start up community college again. The next thing I’m hoping to work on is letting go of that facility. Despite all the pain I went through, I sometimes have this urge to look up that website and find another location.

2024.05.29 10:25 itsallalittleblurry2 Rememberings

It had transpired like this: a woman who lived next door to us at the time had said some unkind things to young Bud. Her son had hit or tried to hit him, and Bud had shoved him away. No big deal, but the lady took exception to it.
I had my back turned at the moment, doing some yard work, and was far enough away that I had not heard, as well as had not seen.
Our younger daughter raced past me into the house to tell Momma (she correctly surmised that She would want to know).
An unbroken string of shouted curses, the sound of bare feet pounding across the hardwood floor of a house raised on concrete blocks, and I sensed with some alarm that something was amiss.
The screen door flew open as I dropped the rake I was holding, and Momma came charging out. She cleared the steps midcry without touching a single one, and charged across the yard, long black hair flying.
She was wearing nothing but an old plaid shirt of mine, long sleeves rolled, buttoned down the front, and hanging to mid-thigh. The unbuttoned tails of which were flying backward to reveal a little more. I paused for the briefest of moments to enjoy the view. I’m only human. And have I mentioned she’s Pretty?
But then remembered myself and gave chase. From her proclamation of “I’ll kill you, you fucking bitch!!”, I presumed that her intentions were not good, concerning her obvious target.
That poor woman was in a bit of shock, mouth open and eyes round. And was just Standing there. As Gandalf would have advised: “Run, you fool!”
The first thought that ran unbidden through my mind was: “I don’t have money for bail.”
I cut her off at an angle, and snatched her off her feet. From behind, and I made sure to pin her arms to her sides. She wore her nails longer then, and I wanted no part of those.
It wasn’t hard to hoist her high enough that her feet were off the ground. She was only 4’ 9 1/2”, and hovering at the time between 90 and a hundred pounds.
Holding into her as I carried her back toward the house was the problem. She was squirming and twisting and kicking Me, her bare heels beating my shins and the sides of my legs like bongo drums.
And caught me with a good backward head butt. My fault - should’ve anticipated that. I thereafter had the good sense to tuck my face between her neck and shoulder.
And she was cursing like a drunken jarhead having a Good time as he was preventing himself from being ejected from a bar he did not wish to leave. In Spanish And English. She’d spent a lot of time around a lot of Marines at our last duty station - guess it’d rubbed off. They’d all liked her. So did I.
Interspersed with: “Put me Down, OP!!”
“Nope.”
“You better let me go, you motherfucker!!”
“Not a chance.” Pushing the screen door open with my foot.
I stepped inside with her and held onto her that way.
“Put me Down, you sonofabitch!!”
“Not ‘til you calm the hell down! Owe! Stop kicking!”
Her screaming and cursing gradually lessened, until, calmly: “It’s ok. You can out me down now.”
“Promise?”
“I Said it, didn’t I?!”
As soon as her feet touched the floor, she tried to bolt for the door again, the pint-sized liar! Here we go again.
Eventually I was sure I Could trust her, and I set her on her feet again. The object of her affections had surely, by that time, fled the scene and barricaded herself inside her house. Or hidden under the nearest parked car, whichever was closest. I would have.
I had a moment when she headed toward the kitchen, and I remembered the door to the outside there.
She: “Relax. I want a drink of water.”
I was limping the next day. You’ll do that when you have bruises up and down your legs, and said legs had tightened up. Even had some on the outside of my thighs - how had she managed that? Had a nice bruise high on one cheekbone. I’d taken less damage from some men I’d fought.
It reminded me of when I’d first started seeing her a decade or so before. We’d gone to a late movie, and we’re now walking toward the car in a now nearly empty lot. It had been full when we’d earlier arrived, causing us to have to park at the far edge, near a stand of high bushes.
I didn’t mind the walk. She was who I sensed she was even then. Untold beauty in miniature. Back and shoulders straight, he’d head high. A classic Spanish face such as I’d seen in old paintings, her father’s father having emigrated from there. One night, lying in bed together, I’d said: “I’ve met you before, you know.”
“Oh? And how is that?”
“I’ve seen your face looking at me from the walls of art galleries in cities in different parts of the world.”
I’d haunt the galleries in major cities, when we’d put into port, every chance I had - saw some wonderful old originals that way.
She was Perfection, as far as I was concerned, on that night. Long black hair falling loose down the back of the high school band jacket she wore above a pair of softly worn and faded denim jeans that clung to her perfectly. Brushing her hips, and catching highlights from the light on a lamp post we passed under.
Slender, proud, and unmatchable at 22, walking with a dancer’s grace.
And three men stepped out of the bushes as we approached the car. Probably not an issue, but they weren’t looking our way, as people normally would. It’s natural to give at least a glance. A small nod of greeting or acknowledgment. But they hadn’t.
On the streets, in the City where my brothers and I had done most of our growing up, you had to learn to read people and developing situations. Be aware and wary at all times. If a group of men were approaching you on the sidewalk, they and you going to pass each other, a glance and small nod of acknowledgement indicated no ill intent. A brief meeting of the eyes. Especially important if you yourself were alone.
But if they pointedly looked everywhere but At you, and made as if to ostentatiously ignore you, it was time to get ready. And you wanted on your person something with which to defend yourself. They would have their own. A sap or good knife, though illegal, PD would overlook if they found one on you. They understood the character of the place as well as we did.
That had saved me from being beaten, robbed, or worse on at least one occasion; being aware of what was about to happen. With no time or room to run, I’d stepped back into a recessed boarded-over store front. Those often, as did that one, kind of funneled or narrowed slightly the further back they went, until after seven feet or so, you had your back to the door at the narrow end.
Good defensive position. They’d have to come at you head-on - couldn’t do it from your back or sides. And not much room in which to maneuver.
A brief standoff, as they blocked my exit, and considered their options. Eye contact Now, the pricks. But I had something in my band by then, and at least one of them would get hurt, too.
They decided it’d be too much trouble, and went on their way. Easier pickings somewhere else. None of us had said a word.
I’d waited to make Sure they had, and hadn’t just been trying to trick me and draw me out. Then, after making sure the coast was clear, I did the same. I’d ventured alone into a part of town not my own, in which my brothers and I were not known. I’d been foolish to.
The things you had to know in that place.
A handgun, though, was another matter. Stopped and searched and one found on you, you were going to have a very bad day Before you got to the station house. And another bad one after. Too many of them had been killed with one. Just unwritten rules that were understood by all.
But still, there were times and situations when you needed one. They weren’t at all hard to find - didn’t even need to leave the neighborhood. And no paper trail to trace one back to you.
I motioned Momma to fall back a little, and she understood, and did. Three of them, but I knew I could take ‘em if I had to. I had before. And I had her with me to think about.
We both slowed our walk, as they and we drew nearer to each other, our paths about to cross at an angle. Get ready.
But they continued on their way. Just some guys taking a shortcut, maybe.
Paranoia? Not at all. In the inner city ghetto world in which my bros and I had lived, those not paying attention, and oblivious to what was going on around them, were the ones who got hurt. Killed, sometimes.
Momma stepped up beside me then, smiled up at me confidently, and I watched her slip what she’d been holding in her hand back into her purse. And laughed delightedly. The pretty little savage had been prepared to back me up all along.
My little honey badger.
I asked her once, years later, apropos of nothing, just making idle conversation during a long drive: “Would you kill for me?”
“To keep someone from hurting you? Of course I would. You’d do the same for me.”
That simple answer, and the easy confidence in which it was uttered, made me feel warm inside.
Another time, during the years we’d spent in California, when we were both still so unfashionably young, she and I had gone to a club in town for a much-needed night out.
She was looking better than I’d ever seen her that night, and that was saying quite a lot. A white summer dress with lots of lace. Black hair a river of shiny silk down her back. Silver at her throat, and in her hair. Silver hoops dangling from her ears. Silver bangles on her arms. The bright red lipstick she favored then.
I’d left her alone to make a quick head call, and had returned to find another man had taken my place in my absence, doing his best to chat her up. She watching his face in amusement and contempt, not saying a word.
I was used, by then, to other men looking at her. It didn’t bother me. Why should it? She was who and what she was. I’d’ve been looking, too. But this was a little much.
I walked over to where they both were, met his eyes and smiled. He stammered a hurried apology, face turning red, and headed for the door.
She and I looked at each other, and both started laughing at the same time. Worked every time - I never had to say a word.
“Why didn’t you tell ‘I’m to fuck off?” I asked.
“Didn’t need to, Babe - you were here.”
And I’d thought: “I always will be.”
I made a good friend at that our last posting, and she was the impetus of it. A very able and capable Lieutenant in our unit. He’d asked me one day: “Sgt OP, your wife is Latina?”
“Hispanic. South Texas girl by way of California, Sir.”
“I saw the two of you out walking the other day. Man, she has that long black hair! She reminds me of the small village in the mountains I grew up in in Cuba. The women there wore their hair like that. You don’t mind me saying so, she’s quite lovely.”
“That she is, Lt. That she is.”
“I’d say you’re a lucky man, Sgt.”
But I already knew that.
I liked Lt C a great deal, and we worked well together. Our new First Sgt didn’t seem to, though - they butted heads frequently. Top didn’t care for me, either, for that matter, and didn’t try to hide it. But considering C’s many outstanding qualities, I took That as a compliment.
All a long time ago now. Many years have passed. Her hair’s much shorter now, and has some white in it. She’s gotten a little rounder, and frets over it, though I continually reassure her it doesn’t matter - that she still makes me smile just by being in her presence, and is still as beautiful as ever.
She’s doing an aerobic workout every morning, though, along with some women on a U-Tube channel; determined to slim down. Can’t tell her anything - nothing new there.
And I’ve been using a walker today, for the downright humiliation of it. Better than falling on my butt, I guess. Knee’s starting to feel better, though. Doesn’t hurt as much, and starting to bend a little and take a little weight again.
When I was young, I could take just about anything. Fell out of the back of a moving pickup onto pavement when I was 19. Picked myself up, wiped off the blood, and laughed it off. We all thought we were immortal then, The Boys and me, until we learned we weren’t.
Had a surgical procedure performed the year before that with no anesthetic, due to circumstances, and hadn’t made a peep. Ever have an open bone-deep wound afterward flushed out with saline? Stuff Burns, brother.
And now my gimpy self, lol.
Hear here’s gone, though, with a storm blowing in. Thunder and lightning, strong, cool wind picking up. Lots of rain. Gonna sit outside here and enjoy it - love a good storm. There are certain things in life you don’t want to miss.
A buddy and I defied previous orders once, and snuck out on deck as our ship was passing through a typhoon it the Philippine Sea - wanted to experience it up close and personal. Experience of a Lifetime, and didn’t get blown overboard! Standing on deck trying to keep our feet under us as we watched the shrieking wind blow rain and sea- foam completely sideways was a thing to Remember! The high-quality weed we’d smoked only made it better.
The two of us were just surprised we were the only ones out there. Who in their right minds would willingly miss This? Afraid of getting in trouble, the lot of ‘em, the chickenshits. I usually was anyway, so meh.

Mastering Hazard Perception: Your Guide to Success with Get Drivers Ed

Passing the hazard perception test is a crucial step in obtaining your driver's license. This test evaluates your ability to recognize and respond to potential hazards on the road, ensuring you can drive safely and responsibly. At Get Drivers Ed, we understand the importance of this test and are dedicated to helping you succeed. In this blog, we will explore what hazard perception is, why it's important, and provide you with tips and strategies to pass the hazard perception test confidently.

What is Hazard Perception?

Hazard perception refers to a driver's ability to identify and respond to potential dangers on the road. This could include anything from a pedestrian stepping into the street, a car braking suddenly, or an unexpected obstacle appearing in your path. The hazard perception test is designed to assess how quickly and effectively you can spot these hazards and react appropriately to avoid accidents.

Components of Hazard Perception

Visual Recognition: The ability to see and recognize potential hazards in your driving environment.

Why is Hazard Perception Important?

Developing strong hazard perception skills is essential for safe driving. According to road safety statistics, new drivers are more likely to be involved in accidents due to their inexperience in recognizing and responding to hazards. By honing your hazard perception abilities, you can:

Reduce the Risk of Accidents

https://preview.redd.it/0nfziwrarb3d1.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=f8716caab105b000ba5913f92e6668f264f436bc
Early recognition of hazards allows for timely and appropriate reactions, reducing the likelihood of collisions. Quick and accurate hazard perception helps prevent common driving errors that can lead to accidents, such as tailgating, running red lights, and failing to yield.

Enhance Road Safety

As a vigilant driver, you contribute to the overall safety of the roads by preventing accidents and protecting yourself and others. Your ability to anticipate and respond to hazards helps create a safer driving environment for all road users, including pedestrians and cyclists.
Boost Confidence

Strong hazard perception skills give you the confidence to handle various driving situations, making you a more competent and assured driver. Confidence in your ability to recognize and react to hazards reduces anxiety and improves overall driving performance.
Tips for Passing the Hazard Perception Test
At Get Drivers Ed, our comprehensive drivers education program includes specific training for the hazard perception test. Here are some essential tips to help you pass:
  1. Understand the Test Format
Familiarize yourself with the format of the hazard perception test. Typically, the test involves watching a series of video clips showing real-life driving scenarios. Your task is to identify and respond to developing hazards by clicking the mouse. Knowing what to expect can help reduce anxiety and improve your performance.
  1. Practice with Sample Clips
Practice makes perfect. Use sample hazard perception clips to get a feel for the types of hazards you will encounter. Pay attention to the timing of your responses to ensure you're clicking at the right moment. Practice helps you develop the timing and recognition skills necessary for the test.
  1. Stay Focused
During the test, maintain full concentration. Avoid distractions and keep your eyes on the road in the video clips. Look for early signs of potential hazards, such as brake lights, pedestrians near the curb, or vehicles changing lanes. Staying focused ensures you do not miss any developing hazards.
  1. Click Judiciously
While it's important to click when you see a hazard, avoid excessive clicking. Too many clicks can be interpreted as random guessing, which may negatively impact your score. Aim to click once or twice for each hazard you spot. Judicious clicking demonstrates your ability to identify hazards accurately.
  1. Learn from Mistakes
If you have access to practice tests, review your results to understand where you missed hazards or clicked too late. Use this feedback to improve your skills and timing. Learning from mistakes helps you refine your hazard perception abilities and increase your test performance.
  1. Stay Calm
It's natural to feel nervous, but staying calm is crucial. Take deep breaths, focus on the task, and trust in your preparation. Confidence will help you perform better. Staying calm allows you to think clearly and react appropriately during the test.

2024.05.29 10:10 DublinItUp Did all NC's regardless of region come with keyless entry?

Hello all,
I have a 2006 MX5 which was imported from Japan to Ireland in 2008. I think I’m the fourth owner, the previous one being a family member. When I received the car there was a cheap key fob style transmitter included, but it didn’t work. I replaced it with a newer one which should match the car, tried programming it, and it didn’t work (however the cycling of the locks inside the car did work).
I have looked everywhere online to find answers but I just can’t seem to come across anything. I have a feeling that when one of the previous owners changed the sound sytem and head unit in the car, they messed with the alarm system and deactivated it. When I turn the key to the ON position my hazards flash for 15 seconds or so before switching off, almost like the alarm is going off without the noise. I should also mention that there seems to be no alarm system either.
My question is basically: Do you think it’s possible that this version of the NC just didn’t come with an alarm or keyless entry? I have no idea where to find the alarm module, or keyless entry module no matter where I look online. Any advice would be appreciated as I don’t live in the greatest of neighbourhoods and would definitely like to at the minimum have an alarm on my car. Thanks!

2024.05.29 10:04 BenzProductions Mini 1499 GT 136bhp edition?

Mini 1499 GT 136bhp edition?
Hello fellow mini drivers. I've had my Mini 1499gt for a little over a year and 6 months now and I'm looking at getting a remap done, (small little qol mods and airbox mod too) When I bought the car, the dealer told me that I had cooper engine in it (which is 136bhp to 141) and as the base model stated for the 1499gt on the link I've attached it says 101bhp.
I can only find online that the 1499gt is 101bhp everywhere and no info if they had a model with a normal cooper engine so I'm pretty confused if they made an error since it's labelled as the F56 1.5L engine, if anyone has any help it would be a massive hand for me since I'm stuck picking what tune to get.
Of course if this was the case, I'd actually gain more power getting a 1499gt tune instead of a standard 1.5 tune. (see photos)
Mini 1499GT review – It isn’t powerful and it isn’t fast, but is it fun? evo

2024.05.29 10:03 Delicious_Show_3804 The smartest, sweetest puppy I’ve ever met in my life

2 weeks ago I was driving and saw a puppy sitting on the corner of a street hiding behind an electrical box. I pulled over and offered her water and put it in between us but she kind of half barked at me and would back up when I got close. After about 10 mins of sitting with her a nice lady pulled over and gave me a huuuge plate of different meats, it was almost more than I could eat 😂. The puppy carefully ate the food and I slowly scooted to her and eventually was able to grab her and get her in my car. She smelled like urine and was incredibly dirty but seemed healthy. she was so wore out and scared she just layed down on my seat and fought going to sleep the whole car ride home. I could see where she used to have a collar so I knew she was someone’s .I took her to see if she had a micro chip , nothing, I posted her many many places online, nothing.
She has been with me two weeks now and has been the most amazing, smart, sweet and funny puppy I have ever had in my life. She pooped and peed inside the first night I brought her home so I ran her outside instantly and she hasn’t done it since.. well some mornings she pees right in front of the door as I’m putting her leash on because she’s so happy and I’m slow as hell 😂 but that doesn’t count. Ive taught her to sit, stay , lay down, spin around, kennel(we don’t close door unless necessary) . Before today I would just walk her every couple hours so she could do her business and get some exercise, but I hung the leash on the wall somewhat near the door for the first time not even thinking about it and she came up to me pulled on the bottom of my pants leg, walked to the leash, pushed it with her nose , looked at me, then walked to the door , looked at me and sat down.. WHAT. I’m amazed. And she was far from trained the day I brought her home. Would jump on me and bite my fingers (lightly) She sleeps with me and would puppy attack the first 3 or so nights we would lay down. But that’s all I can think of that she’s done. But she’s a puppy and imo the biting is inevitable . Every time she would bite I’d give her something else. She got the point in like 5 days(for the most part 😂) but She’s never broken skin or really even got close to it. When I leave the house she’ll sometimes give 3 or 4 barks. And oh yeah she DOES NOT ever let me leave her sight.
I just don’t understand why someone let this girl go. But I’m glad they did because This dog has saved my life. I haven’t been this happy in a long time.
anyways… to the most likely useless human who never took the time to train her, I’ll have you know it only took me 3 treats to teach her sit and stay. But thanks for the dog of my dreams and my new best friend. And for your sake don’t let me find out who you are. It’s not that hard to take a dog to a safe shelter. Or post for free online somewhere. She definitely has border collie in her and I guarantee a rancher somewhere would’ve loved her. I hope I’m wrong and maybe you don’t have access to the internet or something but I highly doubt that. Again Do Not let me find out who you are. I want to stay out of prison.
I didn’t want to name her until a week has passed so I didn’t get attached if someone claimed her so I was just naturally calling her Baby and she caught on quick (before I did probably 😂)and responded to it so I figured eh that works. Don’t get a dog if you don’t have time or knowledge to train them.
This morning I found my 10 year old bulldog dead on the living room floor and I don’t know what I would’ve done without her comfort . It’s like he was waiting to make sure I’d be ok and baby let him know she has it and he could go.
I Love you Baby and I’m gonna do my absolute best to give you the best life a dog could have.

2024.05.29 09:50 ankitmishra0404 Potential Ola Uber Scam at Pune Airport

Hey everyone,
I wanted to share a recent experience I had at Aeromall Pune and see if anyone else has encountered something similar.
A driver asked me to come outside Aeromall Pune, explaining that there was a long line of cabs waiting to enter. When I found him, he was standing away from his car and asked about my preferred payment method. I insisted on paying online because I needed a receipt for official purposes.
He then directed me to another gate of Aeromall, near Starbucks, and asked me to wait there while he brought the car around. After a few minutes of waiting, he canceled the trip, and I was charged a waiting fee.
I hope this was just an isolated incident and not part of a larger scam happening around Aeromall Pune. Has anyone else experienced this?

2024.05.29 09:30 sruehl Possible fix

This isn’t ideal advice but I figure I would post this just in case it helps anyone lol! I just had an awakening (after a bad panic attack at work) that the best way for me, ( I hope it works for you too but I’m sure this isn’t gonna be the cure for everyone) to help suppress panic attacks is distraction! This usually requires finding the trigger first though. But if you got that down, distraction might help you too? (I hope) here are my examples on things that get my panic attacks going and what I’ve found helps.
Driving- my panic attack stems from the fear of crashing, I got in a bad accident in 2019 and ever since then it’s been BAD > what I did to fix this was blasting loud and distracting music in my car to drown out the fear
Eating or even drinking (the fear here is that I will choke) > I fixed this sort of by never eating out in restaurants. I’ll eat at-home only and have the TV on really loud to distract myself from my fear while I eat.
When someone rambles to me verbally for too long. I don’t think there’s particularly any fear in this one, but it just makes me experience depersonalization and that’ll snowball into a panic attack. > This is rude asf but I usually keep one AirPod in always in social settings, I’ll just kinda smile and nod and only halfway pay attention to the conversation, and put my music up kinda loud to keep me distracted and grounded. Not the ideal fix, but I’ve cut down on panic attacks induced this way significantly. If I’m close to the person, I will explain that too much rambling is gonna mess me up, but this trick has helped me a ton at work.
side note, lectures in college are the WORST for this trigger. This isn’t realistic for everyone but I’ll just teach myself the content at home prior to class and just completely ignore the whole lecture. (Headphones in, doodle in my notebook or online shopping or anything) If attendance isn’t required, I just never go. Or if you go to your school’s accommodations office and explain the situation, sometimes they allow in-person attendance for tests and labs but the lecture portion remote . I did this for two semesters in the past
Sleep deprivation- this one is a vicious cycle because my panic attacks keep me awake too many hours of the day, and I’ve noticed being sleep deprived makes the panic attacks way worse. > But keeping myself busy and distracted during my work or school day (playing on my phone, focusing on studying, listening to music, doing busy work) has cut down on this. I picked up a bunch of 3rd shifts at my job and it’s made the sleep deprivation panic attacks way worse, because there’s not much to do. I’m going to switch back to 1st or 2nd shift.
Socially- I noticed socially induced panic attacks are their worst when it’s lots of noise and too many people talking at once. This can’t always be done but blasting music in AirPods while half-assing the social interaction has helped
Shopping- something about the bright lights seem to f me up. AirPods + sunglasses indoors has fixed it (goofy fix, but I’d rather get weird looks than panic) + online shopping and rather drive up has saved me.
Apologies that some of these fixes aren’t really too realistic for everyone, but I figure I’d post it just in case any of it helps anyone.

2024.05.29 09:20 Technical_Formal72 VX + SavOne + Wyndham Business + Prime Visa + BILT Credit Card Strategy?

What do you think of this credit card strategy?
  1. Venture X (Travel/Catch-All)
  2. SavorOne (Dining/Groceries/Entertainment)
  3. Wyndham Business Earner (Gas/Utilities)
  4. Chase Prime Visa (Online Shopping)
  5. BILT Mastercard (Rent)
Annual Cost
Annual Fees: ($395 + $95) = $490 Annual Credits: $400 (Capital One Travel Portal Credit) + $175 (Wyndham Points) + $50 (UberEats Credit) = $625 Effective Annual Fee: +$135
(This doesn’t even include other benefits such as $100 TSA/Global Entry Credit or 3-5 free nights at the Atlantis Resort annually)
VX + SavOne stay in your wallet, Wyndham can be left in the car, and Prime + BILT are kept at home. The only real effort or maintenance for this strategy would be to meet the 5 non-rent purchases with the BILT card each month.
I believe this is the simplest and lowest-fee credit card strategy to hit the most important spending while also getting some premium perks. Does anyone know a better credit card strategy than this without increasing number of cards, fees, or overall maintenance or effort to maximize rewards?

🔗Wilson Combat Low Profile Base Pad for 1911 Magazines

The Wilson 500BLP45 base pad offers a reliable and dependable fit for Wilson Combat magazines. Made of high-quality matte black steel, it provides a sleek profile that seamlessly blends with any firearm. After using it, I noticed the low-profile design was perfect for my everyday carry gun, allowing for a more comfortable grip.
My only concern was fitting it onto older generation magazines, but with a little adjustment, it worked like a charm. Overall, it's a solid accessory from an American-made brand with a reputation for excellent performance.

🔗Springfield XDS-Series 45ACP Flat Dark Earth Laser Grip Extension

https://preview.redd.it/5p197wlafb3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f74bd6f37d4b40f417c96bd51f5af9ad9185e011
Recently, I gave the Springfield X-tension Mag Extension a whirl while practicing at my local shooting range. What stood out to me right away was the increased grip area it provides, which allowed me better control, even during intense shooting sessions. The polymer construction felt durable, but without adding significant weight to the overall package.
However, there was also a slight drawback. While handling the 9.7-inch Springfield XD-Mod. 2 45ACP, I found that the extension occasionally snagged on clothing or holsters, resulting in some minor annoyances.
Overall, I'd recommend the Springfield X-tension Mag Extension for avid shooters looking for an improved grip and control experience. Just be prepared to deal with a slight increase in clothing snagging.

🔗Increase Hellcat Magazine Capacity with KRISS Mag-Ex Kit

https://preview.redd.it/rwuo6lnafb3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=88d3ebe1219327fd6d0fd5f83888c97d7eb76488
As someone who appreciates precision and durability in their firearm accessories, I was excited to try the Kriss USA Magex2 Extension Kit. The extended baseplate, outer sleeve, and spring all came together flawlessly to provide a boost in capacity for my factory standard Glock magazines.
I must say, the lightweight reinforced composite construction made it a joy to handle, and the 30-round capacity truly made a difference in my shooting experience. However, I noticed that it was incompatible with reduced capacity 10rd magazines, which could be a potential downside for some users. Overall, the Kriss USA Magex2 Extension Kit delivered on its promises, and its long-term reliability is truly something to be admired.

🔗FNx 45 Extended Magazine: Durable and Reliable Precision

https://preview.redd.it/dnaub1yafb3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=73f876ee50d48d67b71025a34ab81bda1605eb9c
I recently came across the FN America, a reliable and durable magazine specifically designed for 45 ACP pistols. To see if it lived up to its reputation, I tested it with my favorite FN 545. The magazine's silver with black base and nickel-coated steel construction felt solid to the touch, promising a high-quality build.
One of my favorite features was its capacity, with 18 rounds ready to be fed into the pistol. Whether for practice or target shooting, this extra ammo capacity allowed for a smoother and more efficient experience. However, on the downside, the magazine's dimensions made it slightly less compact than some of its competitors, which might be a drawback for those who value portability.
Despite this minor issue, I found the FN America's performance to be consistently excellent. Its precision manufacturing and durability earned it a place in my collection as a go-to magazine for my FN 545. This experience with the FN America confirms it as an essential accessory for both beginning shooters and seasoned veterans alike.

🔗8-Round Stainless Steel Kimber 1911 Magazine

https://preview.redd.it/axbeb7bbfb3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eed4644294ced09072ac77770669fe91b266a302
These Ed Brown 848 45 magazines have been a reliable addition to my collection. The stainless steel finish is a nice touch that adds a touch of class to the overall design.
One big positive for me was the fact that the magazine tube has been lengthened to accommodate the 8th round while still maintaining the original ultra-reliable follower design. However, one minor drawback I've noticed is that it can be a bit tricky to load the 8th round, but with a bit more practice, I'm sure I'll get the hang of it.
Overall, I'm quite happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend these magazines to fellow 1911 enthusiasts.

🔗Premium 6-Cavity .45 Caliber Rifle Bullet Mold for Efficient Casting

https://preview.redd.it/vi3glvkbfb3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=89affac551164c385b43060b4d2d808ffb840a6d
As a reviewer who has been using the Lee Precision 6 Cavity Mold. 45 Caliber, I've experienced the advantages of its durable aluminum construction and the versatility of its six cavities. With the ability to produce 200 grain semi wad cutter nose bullets with a 0.452 diameter, this mold has been a game changer in my bullet casting process.
One highlight of this mold is its rapid heating and cooling time, which makes it possible to produce quality bullets in a shorter amount of time compared to other molds. The aluminum construction also makes it lightweight, reducing fatigue during extended casting sessions.
However, there are a couple of downsides to this mold. For instance, I found it challenging to achieve properly filled-in shoulders and bases using a traditional dipper. I eventually had to switch to the Lee 20 lb bottom pour furnace for better results. Another minor issue is the mold requires a short break every 50 bullets to cool down for a minute before continuing use to maintain accuracy and quality.
Despite these minor drawbacks, overall, the Lee Precision 6 Cavity Mold. 45 Caliber has significantly improved my bullet casting process and produced high-quality results, making it a worthwhile investment for anyone looking to take their bullet casting to the next level.

🔗Stylish Monaco Club Heavy Weight Clay Poker Chips Set

In my poker nights, these Monaco Club poker chips really add a touch of sophistication to our gaming experience. With a wide range of twelve denominations from $0.25 to $25,000, I've been able to create a diverse cash game and tournament atmosphere. The 13.5-gram poker chips, pressed in casino-grade clay composite, feel fantastic to stack up. The 3-color chips with colorful two-tone block edge spots make for a visually striking display on the table. The regal Sword & Spade mold combined with the elegant Monaco Club Poker Room inlay is a nod to the Vegas of yesteryear.
These chips are perfect for switching between cash games and tournaments, and the wide range of options available cater to any level of player. They're great for shuffling and stacking due to their heavyweight nature. However, one downside I've noticed is that they can be a bit difficult to break apart during shuffling, which can sometimes disrupt the game flow. Overall, I'd definitely recommend these Monaco Club poker chips for anyone looking to elevate their poker game.

This processor was a powerhouse in the mid-90s, capable of delivering ultra-high performance at great speeds. The Dynamic Execution innovation made it even more impressive, allowing for advanced 3D visualization and interactive capabilities.
Using it in my daily life, I noticed the processor's exceptional speed and reliability, especially for high-end applications like gaming and scientific workloads. Navigating through the system was smooth, and it handled multitasking with ease. However, I did face some minor challenges, like the need for a 3D accelerator card to get the most out of it, and some limitations in running high-resolution games at the time.
Overall, the Intel Pentium Pro 200MHz processor was a beast when it was first introduced, and continues to be a remarkable piece of computer history. While it may not be as efficient as today's processors, it's still a pleasure to use and a reminder of how far technology has come.

🔗Whisper-Quiet Concealed Duct Mini-Split Air Conditioner with 48,000 BTU Cooling Capacity

Several months ago, I was tasked with cooling down an attic conversion we were working on. After researching air conditioning options, I came across the Cooper & Hunter 48,000 BTU ducted mini-split air conditioner. Knowing the size of the area, I thought it would be perfect for the job.
The first thing that stood out was the product's whisper technology, which made it incredibly quiet during operation. Given the location of the attic, noise reduction was crucial. Another impressive feature was its heat pump capability, perfect for the unpredictable weather we have.
However, the installation process was quite a challenge. The ductwork was a bit more complicated than expected, and the installation kit didn't seem to be as comprehensive as I would have hoped. It took a bit of extra legwork to get everything set up correctly.
Overall, I appreciated the heat pump feature and the quiet operation of this Cooper & Hunter ducted mini-split air conditioner. While the installation process could have been smoother, the results were definitely worth the effort.

FAQ

What is 45 Pcc?

45 PCC (Pistol Caliber Cartridge) is a centerfire, semi-rimmed pistol cartridge developed in the United States. It was introduced in 1986 by Speer Bullet Company and gained popularity due to its versatility and compatibility with various firearms.

https://preview.redd.it/rxa6zyrhfb3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0a55afe9fc158d1c8a157790f160bc849a9e1242

What is the difference between 45 ACP and 45 PCC cartridges?

The main difference between 45 ACP (Automatic Colt Pistol) and 45 PCC cartridges is their rim diameter. The 45 ACP has a greater rim diameter, which can lead to issues with feeding in some semi-automatic handguns. The 45 PCC has a smaller rim diameter that allows for more reliable feeding in certain firearms.

Which firearms can use 45 PCC cartridges?

Many firearms, both new and old, can use 45 PCC cartridges. Some examples include Glock G23, Glock G42, M&P R8, CZ-75 SP-01, and the Kahr CM45. The compatibility of a firearm with 45 PCC ammunition depends on the handgun's chamber dimensions and extractor design.

What are the advantages of using 45 PCC ammunition?

  • Reduced felt recoil compared to other full-sized 45 caliber rounds.
  • Improved reliability in some semi-automatic handguns due to its smaller rim diameter.
  • Cost-effective, offering comparable performance to traditional 45 caliber ammunition at a lower price point.
  • Widely available at most gun stores and online retailers.

Are there any downsides to using 45 PCC ammunition?

Some potential drawbacks of using 45 PCC ammunition include:
  • Limited availability of factory loads from major ammunition manufacturers.
  • Lower muzzle velocity and energy compared to full-sized 45 caliber rounds.
  • Less popular among some shooters who prefer traditional 45 caliber ammunition.
  • Possible compatibility issues with older firearms or those not specifically designed for 45 PCC cartridges.

How well do 45 PCC hollow-point bullets perform in self-defense scenarios?

45 PCC hollow-point bullets have shown to be generally reliable and effective in self-defense situations. They expand consistently upon impact, creating a larger wound channel and potentially reducing the likelihood of over-penetration. However, like any ammunition, performance in real-life scenarios can vary, and shooters should test ammunition before relying on it for critical situations.

Can I use 45 PCC ammunition in a 45 ACP chambered firearm?

Technically, 45 PCC ammunition can be fired in a 45 ACP chambered firearm. However, it's generally not recommended due to the difference in rim diameter, which can lead to feeding issues and potentially damage the handgun's extractor.

How do I know if a handgun is compatible with 45 PCC ammunition?

Check the chamber dimensions and extractor design of the firearm. A handgun chambered for 45 PCC cartridges typically has chamber dimensions that can accommodate the smaller rim diameter and an extractor designed to function with the 45 PCC cartridge's rim profile. If you're unsure, consult the handgun's manual, manufacturer, or an experienced gunsmith.

🔗Premium 45 Degree Lock Miter Router Bit Set for Versatile Woodworking

https://preview.redd.it/eih9785zdb3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b841ab1d1a981ddbbdf2720bd9ce5759f2d21c1f
As I used the MNA Lock Miter Router Bit Set in my daily woodworking, I was impressed with how smoothly the bits cut through the various materials I tested, making a perfect joint every time. The 45-degree angle lock was a game-changer, allowing me to create stunning interlocking joints on a variety of wood materials.
While the self-aligning feature made assembly a breeze, I found that using these bits in a router table was the most effective to get the best results and maintain the bit's sharpness. The universal 1/4" shank was definitely an asset in using this set with different router instruments.
However, the 45-degree red dot might not be the best option for beginners, as it can take a big bite out of the wood if not handled carefully. Overall, this MNA set provided me with durable and accurate joints, making it a valuable addition to my woodworking toolbox.

🔗High-Strength Ductile Iron 45-Degree Grooved Elbow Fitting for Wet and Dry Systems

https://preview.redd.it/k92lgimzdb3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5d536b400292857364756c0becde73fb0c2be6bf
I've been using this high-quality 45-degree elbow fitting in my daily life, and I can't be happier with the results. The 6-inch diameter and full flow of this iron fitting make it perfect for handling pipes in wet and dry systems, both for indoor and outdoor use. Made from durable ductile iron conforming to ASTM A536, it's designed not just for its sturdiness, but also to withstand various temperature levels.
But here's the catch- it doesn't play well with all types of materials. While it can fit pipes of various materials, I've noticed that it doesn't work best with just any connection. Its clamp or crimp connection style often causes compatibility issues. And let's not forget about the 500 PSI operating pressure; while it's impressive, it can put some limits on what kind of pipes you can use it with.
Overall, this fitting offers a reliable and sturdy connection to pipes, but just be sure to pay attention to the material you're connecting and the pressure you're working with to make the most out of it.

🔗Formufit 45 Degree PVC Elbow Fitting: Industrial Grade, 1/2" Size, Red, Pack of 10

https://preview.redd.it/2mtw45wzdb3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b4407b414d00d9f96b674e2e1619b926e0b44bcf
Recently, I stumbled upon the Formufit 45 Degree Elbow PVC Fitting, perfect for adding a slight pitch to my PVC structure. This red colored fitting not only added a professional finish to my project, but also proved to be durable and non-toxic, thanks to the non-toxic additive. The Formufit fittings are dimensionally compatible with plumbing-grade PVC fittings, making them easy to use.
Despite the product's solid performance, I did notice the plastic edges can be a bit sharp and might require a bit of caution when handling them. However, the overall experience using the Formufit fittings was a positive one.

🔗High-Quality 45-Degree Silicone Elbow for Engine Applications

https://preview.redd.it/wzigvta0eb3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=71ce1182bea063c13d9376947034065dc683527f
I recently had the chance to try out this 45 degree Silicone Elbow from Red Dot. It's perfect if you're working on customizing your car's intake or building from scratch for your vehicle. The bend is just right and the material is sturdy.
However, some may find it a bit difficult to cut it to fit exactly as desired. But the good news is, it's compatible with antifreezecoolant and has a heat tolerance in the range of -40176 Fahrenheit to 392176 Fahrenheit. It's also built to withstand a burst pressure of 200 PSI and a working pressure of 50 PSI.
It's worth mentioning that it comes in a single unit and the wall size is 4mm to 5mm. This product, while not perfect, really steps up your game when joining various components of your vehicle's intake system, making it a pretty decent addition to your car parts collection.

🔗45 Degree Swivel Elbow for Tubing and Hose Connections

https://preview.redd.it/6hjz2op0eb3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=12cd7d658018433ec5bd377a330d50e5c745bc39
Imagine you're working on an engineering project and you're looking for a reliable, easy-to-install fitting to connect pipes. You've heard about the Male 45 Degree Swivel Elbow 3/8X1/4 Pi x MIP Swvl 45 Dot ELB - 540604S, but you're skeptical about how well it'll perform. Well, let me tell you, this little guy has exceeded my expectations.
First and foremost, the ease of installation is simply impressive. No need for tools, just push the tubing in and you're good to go. It saves you up to 75% of the usual assembly time compared to traditional air compression fittings. Plus, it's reusable, which is a major time saver in the long run.
Not only that, but this fitting is as reliable as they come. When connected properly, it offers a full seal, which is crucial in preventing leaks. And, despite its delicate appearance, it's robust enough to handle working pressures ranging from vacuum to 150 PSI.
What's more, the 45-degree orientation gives the fitting a versatile look, while the brass captive eyelet with extended length is a breeze to install. The included Polytetrafluoroethylene based pipe sealant ensures a leak-proof seal, which is a must in any project.
However, the Male 45 Degree Swivel Elbow does have its drawbacks. It's not the cheapest option on the market and requires specific tubing for proper functioning. But, in my experience, the benefits outweigh the cons. So, if you're after a reliable, user-friendly, and easy-to-install swivel elbow, this one's definitely worth considering.

🔗High-Performance 45 Degree Red Dot Coupler

You know that feeling when you've been struggling with a stubborn connector for hours? That's where the Mishimoto 3.5-inch Red 45-degree coupler comes to the rescue. Constructed entirely from silicone, this durable piece has heat-resistant embedded fibers and high heat and pressure tolerances.
It's like a savior in a sea of bolts and screws, and after using it for a while, I no longer dread the possibility of working with a challenging mechanical problem. The coupler's red hue adds a pop of color to any project, giving it a professional and sleek look.
However, beware, this beauty can be tricky for small hands. Its 3.5-inch length and 4mm thickness may be challenging for those less experienced with handling such tools. But once you get the hang of it, you'll find it to be a reliable and efficient solution to your mechanical challenges.
Overall, this Mishimoto coupler has proved to be a worthy addition to my toolbox, and I'm confident that it will become an essential part of your arsenal too. So, gear up, and let's tackle the mechanical world with confidence!

2024.05.29 08:58 Don_Lenkas Need advice on 2010 S80 T6 AWD (EU market)

I am in the process of purchasing a Volvo V70, XC70 or XC60 with T6. They are fairly rare in my country but a 2010 S80 T6 Summun came online today and Im very tempted. The car has 300k km, 2 owners, imported (NL or DE), very clean otherwise. What are some things I need to be careful with S80s? Engines are pretty bulletproof from what I've read on T6, automatic transmission tends to be the issue at this km's if oil hasn't been changed regularly, is there anything else important? Thank you in advance

Hey, where/how do you go about getting a new drivers side door? Doesn't look like they sell them online lol. Is it just calling around to junk yards or is there more to it?

2024.05.29 08:30 Klutzy_Turnover_400 Transferring assets before filing

My mother-in-law gave us her extra car almost a year ago when she financed a new one, but she never transferred it into my husband’s name. Now she is planning to file for bankruptcy in July and said she’s finally willing to transfer it over to us. However, from what I’ve read online this could be viewed as fraud and then the trustee could come back and take the car from us and sell it to pay her creditors. I don’t want to pay to transfer it and renew the tags if it’s going to be taken from us. Anyone know if this is allowed? Edit to add I have requested she ask her lawyer about this, but I’m not sure she will.
Also for inquiring minds because I know I’d be nosy, she wouldn’t transfer it before now because she basically wanted to hold it over our heads. My husband’s jeep broke down and left him without a vehicle for work. We didn’t have the money to buy anything and still don’t. She had a paid off car she was no longer using and let us take it but still wanted control. So anytime she gets the least bit upset with us she can threaten to take it back. That is neither here nor there though.
