I’ve spent a lot of time on the phone with Express Scripts last week and this week. Last week (5/16) I called on a whim and they said that they had the 5 mg in stock so I placed an order for a three month supply. The representative I talked to on the 16th said that they would express ship it because I’ve been out of the prescription for two weeks and that I should receive it Tuesday, 5/21 (today). I did not receive it, so I called Express Scripts again. I talked to one representative who said that it should be here on the 25th but didn’t give me any more information. Then I talked to another representative who seemed very concerned at first because she hadn’t seen any of it in stock for months and was worried someone lied to me. After being on hold for about 10 minutes, she comes back and says that I got lucky and had put my order in right before they ran out. Apparently, they ran out on Friday morning 5/17, and I placed my order around 4 PM on 5/16. If you ordered around the same time as me, you may be able to actually get your prescription. The representative was able to give me a tracking number that doesn’t even show on the Express Scripts website yet but is on the UPS website and is apparently going to be delivered tomorrow. Whew!

I've been posting a lot on this sub lately, sorry for that. I was on 10 mg for eight weeks with barely any side effects. I was quite a happy person on it, but it didn't diminish my anxiety enough. I'm now 2 weeks in on 20 mg, first week majorly depressed and since day 7 just heightened anxiety and not showing any signs of slowing down. I really need to this med to work. My psychiatrist put me on prozac because my mom reacted very well to this medication and he said there is a big genetic component in how people respond to antidepressants so according to him it would be very likely to work well for me too.
I guess I just feel a little discouraged because on the 10 mg I definitely noticed some positive changes, but now I just feel like shit and scared this is only going to help my depression and not my anxiety. I know I takes weeks before you can see the full effect but I expected that after two weeks the heightened anxiety should have gone down a bit by now..

So I’ve been on lexapro for around 5 years and I have never missed a dose. I was on 10 mg for most of that time but I January of this year I went to 20 mg.
I missed a dose yesterday, but I took it today but I’ve been so irritable and anxious today… did I set my treatment back? Why am I anxious and irritable if I took lexapro today?
I only ask because I tried going off of 10 mg before and when I tried going back on it didn’t work and I had to move up to 20 mg.

My visit with psychiatrist yesterday has helped me reach comfort in my mind with a constant anxiety of something I’m sure many are worried about and it is not right (if you can relate to this): the anxiety of your doc cutting, not changing dose and pharmacy rejecting and giving problems with controlled meds.
Both pharmacy and psychiatrist reassured me: allowed me to use 75 + 90 tabs about 1 week after 75 Valium 5mg to dose an extra tab if needed: explained I was on Valium 10mg x3 daily. So I let him know if I can try going daily with Valium 10mg twice daily I think it would be a good start with years of therapy, tapered down, and 4 years in Army as medic now out for about 1 year with fully honorable for medical retirement - I’m happy my discharge is the same as finishing my 4 year contract and did 4 years retired a few days shy of ETS (last day) date.
He gave me Valium 5mg x4 a day and said I can take it as I see fit in my day but not recommended to take all 4 at once like I’m at the dentist or something lol. Can take 3 in morning if I want, 1 at night; 2 and 2, etc.
Started me on Prazosin 1mg and stopped clonidine ER 0.1mg twice daily and took first dose at bed having the morning clonidine in me… ouch lol side effects of weakness had me miss worth and head to urgent care, but got better with time. I felt like I had an ear ache but got better on Zyrtec. So far side effects there, but the daytime effects I can see my trigger response isn’t as overdriven, so med good for daytime symptoms with PTSD too not only good for nightmares which I’ve been lacking a lot regardless. Did not wake up same time of 2:50 - 3:00am as I do like 5/7 nights in a week - great sign for me on its benefit of sleeping being me! I’m on Zoloft 50mg and plan to taper down off of because last VA psych. was only focusing on tapering me off of Valium.
Doctors who taper long term daily benzo’s with compliance AND especially patients who already tapered like myself twice with horrible quality of life: you aren’t even following WHO guidelines if that’s even a concern
Sorry to patients being hassled being on benzos long term. There’s no Suboxone of benzos as they have for opioid users choosing to quit and switch. Klonopin maybe is a similar concept with long duration; maybe Valium too with long half life understood by doctors.
Lastly, the switch from Adderall XR and IR to Zenzedi (dextroamphetamine sulfate) it’s a brand name similar to Dexedrine tablets, more dose options similar to Adderall IR. I am seeing a better amount of benefits with this: no rush sensation, no cold extremities regardless of fluid intake and running 20 - 40 miles/week. Sleeping is easier because the med wears off without the Levoamphetamine continuing to produce nasty PNS (peripheral nervous system) effects.
The pharmacy telling me the doctor choosing whatever he wants to send in, he will fill it. Even mentioning Desoxyn the pharmacist was okay with this.
I’m not used to having a doctor and pharmacy there to be there for me and do their job title. I was always in fear and seeing this 10-11 years later: it’s all fear surrounded around the system that the doctor (now influx of NP/PA especially) follow and limitations unspoken on stop them from helping; seemingly they believe the anti-med information and push stuff like gabapentin - now not so much in several states with controlled status or reporting to PDMP. System nonsense right there.
My post is long but I want anyone to know chat/message for help/support: I’ve played the game and fought for myself been on benzo/stimulant since 13-14 no problems with meds until new docs began taper-happy, extended release happy anti-fast tablet mindset: pressure lead to abuse thinking I was f-worded, but better docs helped my mind slow down abuse knowing stability with each good doc.
I’m here to help if needed: 3 year medic army clinic time helped too.

Started at 5 mg IR twice a day, no difference, 10 mg, no difference, 15 mg, no difference. I have an appointment soon where I assume we’ll probably try 20 but if that doesn’t work, is that like the limit?
What’s weird is that I was on 36 mg Concerta for years and that worked just fine, but my doc wants me to try Adderall (I think because my insurance wants me to use that since it’s cheaper). Adderall is supposedly stronger, so you’d think even if it wasn’t the perfect dose I’d be feeling SOME benefits after taking 15 mg and I’m just not.
I even quit my Wellbutrin because I was convinced that was making it less effective, but it’s still just not working. So I guess my question is, is 40 mg a pretty strict limit or will they go higher if I’m tolerating it well? I haven’t lost any weight and I’m sleeping 8-10 hours a night and can fall asleep in less than 10 min, so I don’t think the side effects will be an issue.
The only other difference I can think of is that I quit smoking a couple months ago, but surely the nicotine wasn’t helping THAT much was it? I don’t want to start smoking again, it took me forever to kick the habit.

I have been on Hydrocodone Jan2024-March2024 and then Oxycodone since March 7th of this year. It was given because the MRI showed my shoulder was ruined. Since the surgery my surgeon has refilled the 56 oxys every 7/10 days. She hasn’t said anything about the pain meds but I’m wondering since the pain is a little better now, should I talk to her about a taper? Would this 5 month period cause withdrawals if I stop on my own? I know everyone’s different, I was just wondering what you all think.

I apologize bc I'm still new to reddit so I'm probably gonna make zero sense. I'm looking for advice because I have extreme anxiety and emetophobia.
I finally started seeking help for the first time in 10 years because my anxiety attacks/ptsd episodes are getting unbearable. My doctor wants me to start 10mg prozac. I've been unmedicated for so long because of my fear of throwing up. My fear is so intense that I'm very underweight because I fear simply eating.
I want to take my first dose tonight before my overnight shift. Does anyone know when nausea starts after taking the medication and when the nausea subsides? If I have another panic attack and leave work I fear I'll be fired. They gave me Zofran as well. Does this work well in anyone's experience to curb nausea caused by prozac?
Any advice on how to help nausea this medication can cause would be immensely appreciated.
I feel nauseated often from simply anxiety so I fear having a solid, real reason to be nauseous that I can't fight. I'm so scared. I'm really mentally unwell and I don't have a support system.

I'm starting new medication for my anxiety/PTSD after being unmedicated for almost 10 yrs. The panic episodes are getting worse and compulsive. I wake up in the middle of the night and within 5 minutes convince myself that I'm awake cause I'm going to v*- then sob and shake all night. I'm about to lose my job because of it. I'm extremely underweight because I'm scared of eating.
My new psychiatrist thinks prozac (10mg) will help me but I know it causes n. She prescribed me ondansetron 4mg with it. I need to start meds because I cannot handle this constant anxiety but I'm scared to take it. I don't know when n from taking prozac kicks in. I need to go to work in 4 hrs and if I feel n* at work I'll freak out again and get fired. But I also want to take advantage of taking it while my boyfriend is home... I just don't know what to do. I need help. I can't handle this anymore.

I was prescribed 10 mg in Aug 2023. I'm down at 2.5mg now, I've noticed I've gained 10 kgs of weight since Aug. I was severely underweight before starting hence the weight gain gave me confidence and decreased a lot of anxiety. I'm supposed come off this week but I'm worried I might lose all the weight that I gained and go back to being my depressed/anxious self

F38, 140lbs. Diagnosed with high cholesterol in my 20s and was on simvastatin for several years until another Dr took me off. Main issue was high triglycerides and LDL. I have a family history of high cholesterol in my father’s side.
Fast forward to today I’ve been on lipitor 10 mg for about six months. My LDL and total cholesterol went down but triglycerides went up as did my fasting glucose (109), which has never been high. My A1c is ok though. I asked my dr if Lipitor could cause this spike in glucose but she doesn’t think it’s to blame. How can I tell if it is or isn’t? Are there other tests to run, or should I switch to another medicine? I have no family history of diabetes but i am being treated for hypothyroidism ( levels ok). no major weight gain, and i work out 3-5 days per week.

I have an Allo prescription which I have been slacking off on taking and the box of 300 MG pills is still full.
Did my shoulder in over the weekend (old injury) and could not sleep due to the bad pain.
Started popping “Ibuprofen” 200 MG during the night just to try and dull the pain and continued throughout the day. I was getting a bit nervous about my shoulder because it was getting worse the whole time.
I popped 10 pills over a period of 12 hours or so, jus to realize that the whole time I was taking the 300 MG allo pills instead of the ibuprofen. (Boxes were both white with similar design) so I had 3000 MG.
Anyway, it has been a few hours since I found out. Weird (kind of hot and slightly burning sensation in my knees and some other joints) but other than that, stomach and rest of body feels ok.

So I take 20 mg adderall XR in the morning and a 10 mg ‘booster’ in the afternoon. The bottle with the booster is normally labeled “Amphetamine salts.” Recently I got my prescription refilled and the bottle says “dextroamphetanine.” The pill looks different but I assumed it’s the same thing. Now when I take the new booster at noon my heart literally feels like it’s going to pump out of my chest. I had one pill left of the old “amphetamine salts” prescription and took it, and i was fine. Why am I reacting to the new prescription differently even though it’s supposedly the same thing? Should I stop taking it?

Hey all I've been taking prozac for a week now, my doctor started me on 5mg. I was feeling great the first 5 days then a couple days ago anxiety crept her way back in, like it's to the point where I'm worried about bumping up my dose to 10 MG lol so yeah I probably should. I have several friends/family taking it with nothing but good things to say and no real side effects. When should I start taking 10mg because I think I probably need it but dont know if the 5mg just needs more time. I am thankful for this thread and really appreciate all the posts. Makes me feel better. I was so worried about starting Prozac.

When is someone considered a non responder on trizeptide? Family member started on 5mg for 2 weeks. Titrate to 6mg and then 7.5mg, started 10mg yesterday. Not moving much at all though focused on protein and water. This person had no reaction to a high dose epidural and no reaction to codeine. She feels this actually might not work. When should she throw in the towel? She is 71F, 5'0", SW 236.2 on 4/22/24. CW 226.2 I know it's still 10 lbs but outside of first 2 weeks, not much is happening and she's even gone back up. Thanks!

For those of you on Concerta doing boost dosages with generic Ritalin, how often do you do it, and how late in the day would you dare to do it without it messing up with your sleep schedule? Ps.: I'm taking my 36 mg pill quite early in the day... Let's say at 6:00 AM, by 2:00 or 3:00 PM, I can feel it slipping away. I have some generic 10 mg tablets that I've kept, however I'm afraid that taking them can get me insomnia or hurt my sleep.

I have been on citalopram (20 mgs daily) for 7 years, and I wanted to quit taking it. I have been tapering it off (15 mg for 4 weeks, 10 mg since 4 weeks) but I have been crying and unable to deal with everyday stress. My psychiatrist prescribed me busperone to deal with these discontinuation syndromes, but I am very very reluctant to start another medication that I haven't tried before as I am afraid of I would not be able to quit that one too. What are your experiences with busperone?

Hey guys After a meeting w my dr yesterday, I’m swapping from Wellbutrin XL to Lexapro after over a year because it wasn’t getting me where I need to be I was prescribed 10 MG to start. I’m wondering what the more common side effects are and what to look out for. I’m also pretty active, like to walk and hike but I also go to the gym three times a week. 6 foot tall male 198 lbs and in shape Keep seeing a lot of people post about major weight gain which is turning me off wanting to start tomorrow. Also, will it affect my love life? I like to be active. Very nervous to start these based off the horror stories here that I’m reading. Looking to manage my PTSD while I start therapy with these but am reallllly not wanting to start these meds now. I literally asked my dr if it would cause weight gain and she told me no so now I’m being told different things.

I’ve been out of office since 15th May cos of migraine. Thankfully my peers are very supportive.
But I’m getting worried as to how long will this go on for. Been taking Rizatriptan 10 mg whenever I feel a major attack is gonna come or SOS situation as suggested by my doctor. After it kicks in, everything feels better, but for when I’m not on the medicine, I have this lingering pain that doesn’t go away, no matter what I do. I can see bulged veins on both sides of my forehead.
1 week of staying inside, trying to sort my eating and sleeping habits, I feel so lost. Feels like there’s no hope.
I don’t even know why I’m posting this tbh. Just so tired.
