I'm not one of these C.AI revolutionaries that overtook the sub yesterday, but I'm upset just like them. I don't even care if anyone sees this, or if the mods get to this post, I'm just fed up with them seemingly doing NOTHING about any of this. Something more than "Oh, we're addressing the issues, submit help ticket pls" would be nice!
I'm so sick of the fucking corporate bootlickers that pop up every once in a while to defend the C.AI team... Saying shit like "Oh, no hobbies? No friends? No bitches? Jobless?" Like, no, motherfucker! I have friends and hobbies that I engage with on a regular basis, but God forbid I feel like sitting down for a while and fucking around with a bot. Maybe I have some free time at work that I wanna piss away on something, and I just decided to use the wacky ai bot to write bullshit storylines! No! It's called holding the fucking dev team accountable for once!
"Oh, poor indie devs!" No! Fuck them, they literally have Google money! This is not a small-time team anymore! They can afford to make a working fucking product that doesn't shit the bed every 5 minutes! This is fucking ridiculous! It should not be this difficult when you have ever resource on God's flat fucking earth (I'm not a flat earther, I just like that phrase) available to you! A lot of people PAY for this product, too! It's not just us "freeloaders," as I saw one person call us (not verbatim). Upgrade the damn servers or something, you HAVE THE MONEY TO DO SO! But no! Just like alot of people here I'm trying to progress to the bosses to receive Agent Smith but...
First of all I missed out on Wonder Womans Graphic T and Summer Superman due to me literally missing a day. So most of the nodes I can't even do. They nerfed one of my mains Velma to the ground and I can't seem to beat the Joker in Crushing Rift. All my gems are level 5. Some rifts are way harder than others. I was having trouble fighting Jason & Wonder Woman and I was stuck for a long time fighting Garnet reflecting my attacks but I have completed that one in Crushing now (with the Payback Armature gem)
There's nothing bugging me more than the characters having balance issues. Buff Tom & Jerry and bring back Velma's longer ranged megaphone attack and give her a little buff too. Velma in the Open Beta was peak. She was so much fun to play and there's nothing more annoying than your main being done dirty. I feel ya Iron Giant fans.
While we're at it. Shaggy and Wonder Woman (and her super armor) are so broken but Shaggy is their poster child so there is no way they'll touch him. Oh and let's not forget about Banana Guard, a joke character that isn't really a joke to fight against. In fact it's the exact opposite.
I think the Joker plays just fine and I consider him one of my new mains but alot of hitboxes feel so weird to me. This rift however I feel like most of the time I'm playing Dodgeball because Jokers Rocket Launcher is deadly af. Messing up once by failing to dodge his Rocket Launcher costed me the whole match. This is basically the weakest fighter against one of the strongest. I'm forced to play Velma too since that's the only fighter I have a Graphic T shirt for... Getting screwed by one of my mains in the video below. Lol.

It's like some characters get priority in their attacks and sometimes my attacks just go right through. Replace the "Bring Another player with you into battle" node because not everyone has friends that play this game or quit playing. I don't really blame them at this point.
I already quit playing PvP altogether for now due to desync issues and connection issues or getting kicked back to the title screen for no reason and I'm not even playing on a console! I play on PC with Epic Games Launcher. It's just as bad as the Playstation and XBOX versions... That and the horrible input delay. Sometimes it takes my character 5 seconds to respond to my button presses. Which is why I mainly do rifts now.
I think they should rerun the daily login events too because it's stupid that there's two deadlines. One for missions and one to claim the skins.
I've felt forced to play until I max out my free premium battle pass at first but now I'm reconsidering. It's scummy too because they knew they were releasing an unfinished product to the point the Open Beta was way better in every way. So they were probably like "Let's give our Beta testers the first battle pass for free to keep them engaged long enough until we can slowly fix the game with small patches"
Don't get me wrong. There's positive stuff about the game too which I feel like should get mentioned too to even out the negativity. It really is alot of fun to me. All the free gleamium (including Twitch drops) and nice rewards. Getting the Batman Who Laughs Joker skin with Prestige points was very rewarding to get. But it could be so much more fun without all this BS. I think the higher ups at WB are definitely to blame. Player First Games genuinely looks like a great company and they addressed our issues quickly on Twitter.
If there's no patch fixing most issues like these in 2 weeks, I think I'm quitting too. Which is a shame because I love the game and wanted it to succeed and I was fairly optimistic over this game but after reading through this Reddit I changed my mind as most of the issues addressed here are also the things that bug me alot. They're all small issues but combining them together it makes the game a huge mess.

Sorry, this is a long one. 3 days ago, I (F24) got a message from a girl saying that my boyfriend (M23) had been messaging her on snapchat (2-5 messages at a time, only 3 total conversations) throughout the last year. The messages read along the lines of “what are you doing… we should f*ck… we never got to chill… etc.” The girl had texted him saying that she knew he had a gf and to not mess his relationship up, to which he replied “why do you say that?” and then she screenshotted it, he unadded her and blocked her. The girl said that they had never met in person, she thinks they got each other’s info from a dating app.
For context, my bf and I have been dating for over a year and a half, we have live together for 6 months, spend most of our time at work (he’s a carpenter in a super strict work environment and isn’t able to use his phone during work much) or together. He has never given me a single reason to think he would cheat on me, I have free access to his phone without him caring ever, we don’t go out to bars, he isn’t very active on social media, he is extremely sweet to me and has never made me feel insecure about another girl.
At the time that this happened (the final interaction with the other girl and me receiving the message from her), he was not at home. I called him and asked him if he knew that girl (they followed each other on instagram, she said he had followed him when they had their first interaction and that’s how she knew he had a girlfriend as there’s several posts with me on there) and he said he didn’t, “must’ve just followed her bc she followed him”. I told him that she told me he was messaging her on snapchat, he was so confused and went to check and said he didn’t even have her on snapchat. I told him I wanted to see his phone when he got home… this is where some red flags started to kinda show up. When I asked to look through his phone he said “i’ll look through yours too then. i’m sure i’ll find something there” (we’ve had one argument before of him thinking i was cheating bc he saw me looking up the contact info of a famous person I hung out with a few times before we started dating but i had only looked it up bc he’s doing a show again in town and i was talking to my friend about him and how cringe he ended up being). Once he got home, every time that i tried to dig into it this whole thing, he would become frustrated and say that he hadn’t done anything.
After I searched for this girl, i realized she had been blocked and found a list of other mainly girls, but some guys too (and his old boss and his sister?) that were blocked too that he said he never blocked. I added the girl back and the texts were all there (keep in mind, they didn’t sound like him, how he types, or thinks he would say but they were short messages so that’s not saying much). He said he had never talked to this girl before or knew who the other people on the blocked list were. He told me about how people have made fake profiles of him before to catfish girls and a story about a girl that i know he used to hang out with and how when they first met, she told him they had been texting and she was sending pics to him for a while but he had never talked to her and it was a fake account (this checked out from what i could find) and that sometimes he would go on his snapchat after not using it for weeks (because he’s really never on his phone or social media like i said before) and it would be logged out (implying someone else had logged into it) but he didn’t think anything of it at the time.
I believed him. For even more context, my bf has never asked me for nudes, our sex life is extremely healthy, he is a very very attractive guy with high standards (i know of most of the girls he’s been with and they are really beautiful) and now to sound hateful but this girl that reached out to me isn’t very attractive. If he somehow found time and energy from his tiring, manual labor, physically demanding job, training at the gym as a body builder (with the very little energy he has leftover from work), and being a sweet life partner to me (cooking 5+ meals a day for himself and sometimes me, keeping the house clean, taking care of our dog and cat), he usually only has enough time and energy for half a tv episode before crashing from exhaustion at the end of the day right next to me in bed, how would he use it texting other girls and why on a girl that isn’t very attractive?
Anyways, yesterday, while i was digging some more, we found his snapchat was tied to a different number than his current one. He said he didn’t know the number so i assumed this was the hacker. Today I looked it up using a website and his name popped up. He told me multiple times yesterday that he would just delete his snapchat if it happened again but that there’s nothing else to do (i figured out today you can download login data from snapchat so i’ll do that when he gets home from work), but am I being dumb and naive?? Is he cheating on me?

2024.06.10 12:58 technics303 My journey through NixOS and flake, an update

2 month ago I posted a question about NixOS VMs / Container management in an attempt to use NixOS and it's various tools to automate the deployment of my homelab. I (naively) thought that i could just replace Terraform / Ansible with NixOS flakes and deploy NixOS LXC container into my proxmox automatically with a CI pipeline whenever i push changes to my nix config, using deploy.rs.
This post is a follow up on how i now plan to use NixOS and flakes, what i've understood trying all of this and what i still don't quite understand.

1. Tool change

As i said earlier i'm used to deploy Debian LXC containers on Proxmox using Terraform and configure them using Ansible, which a very common and well documented practice. I was just planning to replace Debian with nixos, completely avoid Ansible for configuration because i would be useless, and deploy using NixOS' tools which are more adequate than terraform.
I've learn that NixOS is not really well integrated with LXC yet. There are ways to create an LXC template and upload it to Proxmox, but it was not a clean approach.
One of the comments on my other post mentionned (microvm.nix)[https://github.com/astro/microvm.nix\], which is a tool to build NixOS VMs and run them on various hypervisor, notably QEMU / KVM. I tried it extensibly for a month now and i'm very happy with the result. It can build very small VMs, with a small footprint which why i used LXC in the first place so it's a great replacement.
So, if my experiments continues to be successful, i now plan to migrate my whole homelab to MicroVMs and write a Flake for each VM i want to deploy.

2. How i use Flakes

For the past 2 month i read a lot of documentation and articles about NixOS philosophy, Flakes and it's usage... All of it was obscure to me and is now much more clear.
I now have :

A nixos-minimal-config flake, which contains a single module nixosModules.minimalConfig, which is a minimal configuration containing my user, SSH keys, locales, base packages... It is the equivalent of a cloud-init config.
A microvm-
flake, which output is divided in 3 parts :
- A call to minimal-config.nixosModules.minimalConfig, which install my base config (the input is the git repo on which the flake is pushed)
- A configuration part, which enable the desired service and configure it as in a configuration.nix file
- A call to microvm.nixosModules.microvm, which configure my VM (CPU, memory, disk size, network interfaces...)

I wonder if it is the "right way" to use flakes ? Maybe my base config should be a single configuration file i can copy on every new flakes i write ? Or maybe every flake i write for a service should be an independent module, and i should juste call those 3 module onto a fourth flake gluing everything together ? Doing so, i think i reproduce some ansible mechanism i'm used to, and maybe it is not the NixOS way of doing things.
Also, i would like to template those flake so i can input variables on my services' flake and pass them to the minimal_config one. That way i can pass a different username, add an SSH key or anything else. I don't know any way to do this ? I also don't if this is (again) a automatism i have from ansible and if there is another NixOS way to achieve it.
