I post here on and off, I’m way more interested in the actual history. I’ve read so much about his life in the past 3 years, honestly like 30 books in all and some further research on the web. I have never come across a historical person anywhere near as fascinating. For a guy that could never keep his mouth shut he’s something of an enigma (So many people argue about his various relationships. ) I’m just going give a few of my conclusions cause they’re different than a lot here. Hamilton and Angelica had an affair. That one I have no doubt in my mind about that one. The apartment he rented in secret and the stuff they said to each other in their letters when she was on her way back to England is a smoking gun. Hamilton and Laurens were together. It definitely wasn’t one sided on Hamilton’s part. It’s really easy to read between the lines even before you know Hamilton’s family cut out sections of Laurens’ letters and apparently withheld a few entirely. I read a thorough dissection of the cold in my professions letter on Tumblr a while ago and it is dirty. One thing for sure on the first draft of that letter to the final Hamilton changed a line describing himself as your friend, he changes that to “the lover.” Hamilton was mentally ill, I don’t know how anyone who reads the blow by blow of how he acted both during the Reynolds scandal and the Election of 1800 and come to any other conclusion. He had issues when he was in his 20’s and they got way worse over time. Plus there is a whole lot of mental illness in his family, including some descendants that were committed. A lot of people agree, including his psychiatrist grandson and the guy who who wrote The Hypomanic Edge. My guess has always been bipolar. Hamilton and Burr are very similar. Hamilton apologists try to paint him as some moral paragon ( his morality act is a complete facade) Burr apologists paint him as a total innocent and the greatest guy ever ( he wasn’t). I have a theory about what Hamilton’s issues were with Burr but this post is already too long. It’s ok if you did a tl/dr. ***Sorry, I did write this in paragraphs 😭

Part 2: Character Arcs

It’s really hard to think through character arcs since new villains and themes have popped up between the two seasons (esp for our characters who weren’t constantly on the run from BPO and still had their own lives), so I’m sure the writers would have had the creative licensing to do that for our cluster.
I’ll start with the three characters who seemed to have the most to do with the “main” Sense8 storyline, Riley, Will, and Nomi.
Riley
I think out of all the planned character arcs, Riley’s potential was cut short the most. She had the least amount of practical skills in the group to stay alive (yes - she had her club perks in hiding Will, getting the dr*gs for him, connections with the Archipelago, Yrsa, Bodhi), and a large amount of traumatic and depressing flashback scenes that were setting us up for the future. As the show ended, we knew she wasn’t “useless” to the cluster (none of them are), but for the amount of trouble she went through in season 1, she didn’t return her skills enough to the cluster to make sense for a full character arc.
The first few seasons in a large scale planned dramatic sci-fi type show like this would lend itself to being more action heavy as our main characters get into pickles and need to fight their way out, but the later lore building and connections part is less well served by the fighter types, and more by a character like Riley.
In season 1 we saw her witness all of her own cluster’s birth, so I think she births her first new cluster in season 3, she needs to deal with the narcissism comment Yrsa made on love within a cluster. If she births more, maybe there could be a Todd-like character or an episode of clustercide (albeit on a smaller scale than whispers).
I can’t cover her revolution in this post, or what that would look like- it’s heavily speculative creative writing both for season 5 and the sensate universe- debating doing another post just for Riley’s births, season 5 and human/sensate world discussion!
Will

• Season 3 would be him dealing with the loss of his father, potential relapse and addiction issues
  • I don’t love most TV shows’ portrayal of addiction; it’s been getting better and more nuanced over the past decade, but seeing him relapse in episode 10 of season 2, recovering enough to help Sun in the next episode, and then being a great chief planner in the season 2 finale was a bit too rushed to deal with his grief plus addiction.
  • His father was prone to addiction, so during the first few episodes of season 3 when the team is trying to extract Wolfgang, he could simultaneously be wrestling with whether or not he’s up to the challenge of planning the Sans Jour operation.
• Sara Petrell closure!
• Connecting with other clusters with Riley
  • They could be like Angelica and Jonas, sensate headhunter parents who are deeply in love, but in the opposite direction- hunting for new growth and connection instead of at the helm of a corrupt organization.
• A potential death, or severance from the group
  • If this happens, I think his montage in the series 2 finale would need to be epic, him solo taking down the leaders while his cluster is physically away, to cement him as a hero cop of sorts (I don’t love the show’s lean towards copaganda TBH, saw a great Youtube essay from Ladyknightthebrave on this)

Nomi

• Pay back “the guy” for a favor
• By the end of season 3, she gets married to Amanita- I personally think their wedding could still be a core part part of the season finale for season 3!
  • Mom’s transphobia: The special brownie fairy scene was indeed funny, I’m not sure how Nomi’s mother’s transphobia would be dealt with but by the end of season 5, her mother will have accepted her. Sense8 has never wanted to be a “bury your gays” show, with the knowledge that killing off queer characters or giving them an unhappy ending is an incredibly overdone trope. (not really rebuilding a relationship, you can’t undo or fix the trauma she went through even if her mom and dad stop being as transphobic)
• Nomi’s “narcissism”
  • I personally don’t think she's a narcissist- in order to live her authentic truth as a trans woman, she had to be selfish enough (in a good and necessary way) to prioritize her self-actualization over what her family would have thought of her.
  • But I do think moments, like her abandoning Teagan for the Cabin, her speech at the reception, convos with Amanita on constantly being focused on their cluster- do warrant wrestling with finding ways to build a life with Amanita
• Navigating inter-subspecies marriage
  • In whispers words, no “Labrador B**ch” dynamic- showing that it’s not a pet and owner relationship. River was right that it was a momentous marriage, showing how sapiens and sensorium can coexist and truly love each other in their relationships
• Amanita’s novel?
  • Nomi has been the focus of their relationship for so long, and since their relationship is symbolic of human-sensate overall, she can’t just be thesidekick
  • Since both of them were on the run in the US, but there were no active warrants, maybe they could have that flat in Paris they wanted, with Amanita working on her novel. Just throwing it out there!
• Other tidbits
  • Bug finds love, or friends- he deserves it!
  • Amanita’s mom and dads maybe tapping into their previous Black Panther connections in season 5 when Sensorium is revealed to the world

The 5 characters with side plots (that become integrated over time)
Def struggling to come up with new smaller villains in each of the subplots so I won’t try (esp for the five who haven’t been as involved in the BPO plot as the three above), as that’s almost into the realm of fan fiction and there’s not much canon to base this expansion off of in comparison to the season lore expansion which thematically makes sense for what the show runners were trying to do.
Capheus

• season 3 is his continued campaign and election as political leader, Mandiba always a threat, then 4 is him trying to lead his people, 5 spreading the sensate message in Nairobi/Kenya
  • Maybe ppl try to get him to run for higher office but he abdicates and does charity or something instead
  • Superpower’s leader- maybe they try to blackmail him in office, but it’s a batman-joker type relationship where both need each other for the plot
  • Silas kabaka causing both trouble and helping, with his relationship w Capheus’ mother - will Silas try to corrupt Capheus in certain ways?
• The ppl from the rally- As sensorium is revealed to the world, human-sensate relationship conceptualization would be localized dependent on culture and location. The sensate connection could be explained as ancestors, spirits, peoples’ increased willingness to believe in sensorium - especially since the Spirit of Jean Claude was accepted as a believable story in Nairobi in comparison to the derision and connection with mental illness in Western/global North nations.
• Agenda connection with the outside world
  • Connect his agenda w Rajan and the pills from India
  • Talk more on colonialism and the Nakia line, resource inequality as sapiens and sensate work together in a new world in season 5

Wolfgang

• Wolfie deserves his own article. Love this guy. Wish I could write more!
• Rione conflict with Lila, Fuchs could be a villain? Or he leaves Berlin actually and post rescue season 3 they figure out their polyamory thing more.
  • This would be heavily dependent on how Lila’s Rione plays out, she wanted it in Berlin originally and it wasn’t going to be in Naples until the finale. It could go either way- her still trying to establish herself in Berlin during a turf/succession o-crime war, or returning home to Naples.
• There’s still 1 more king unaccounted for, Volker Bohm is dead, Fuchs’ storyline was ambiguous- he could have been an antagonist and ally instead of just ally against Wolfgang
  • the fourth - Khalil Dogan in the south- war with Fuchs, as two territories are under regime change with Bohm’s death and Bogdanow gone

Kala

• Season 3 is recovering Wolfgang, connecting w him, struggling with his past and the “this is why you must marry rajan” aspect of him being a stone cold killer
  • I do think her internal struggle was dragged out a lot in season 2 and the finale, so she has to be temporarily taken out of the equation for W&R to meditate on their relationships with her.
• She gets shot early season 3, Wolfgang and Rajan bond while she’s unconscious
  • Don’t think she should die, Rajan’s story is too in-depth to lose, and Lila has to be the one to shoot her in early season 3 symbolically as a semi-love rival to Wolfie
• Husbands corruption scandal with Ajay, glass elephant Ganesha meaning - be careful of that creepy man…
  • The loss of this story arc was so sad. Rajan was rushed into his “good man, kind husband” role that would have organically unfolded, or it could have also gone the opposite direction with Kala finally leaving him for Wolfgang (though I don’t prefer that, it kind of emasculates the non-white non-Western man as unlovable and corrupt, for the well-hung German bad boy)
  • He was subpoenaed, so I could see the directors toggling between a courtroom in Mumbai and Seoul as a creative juxtaposition.
• Political corruption scandal involving Rajan’s father? Parallel speeches w Capheus’ reforms on ineffective medications- need to tie the two storylines together; it just makes sense.

Lito

• I see him as Jordi season 3, big break in Hollywood season 4 and stalker, season 5 using his platform to speak up
• has never had life threatening issues in the show, but great social commentary - he deserves to not have too life threatening things to continue being a semi comedic relief from the over melodramatic and intense moments of the show
  • Hollywood dynamic, the lead actor he was supposed to fall in love with was an interesting white-washed Hispanic character, Kit wrangler being himself
  • Cultural differences- it was very LA gay, and dealing with Lito’s internalized homophobia, struggling to transition from a “cheesy” action hero movie actor to a more poetic one, Hernando helping him with that
    • Dani gets a new love interest?
• Sensate stalker- meets many at premieres and a fan stalks him
• Maybe a Hernando Lito marriage too

Sun

• Season 3 process of bringing her brother to justice, and the politician Tae
  • We aren’t meant to trust the legal system, so I think a big and difficult battle would still ensue there- add courtroom drama to the list of subgenres Sense8 managed to hit!
  • Bak company maybe connected with organized crime and illegal money in Berlin, maybe Berlin is responsible for laundering and Seoul was the storing of the money
• Falling in love with mun
  • Opening up her vulnerable side again, she’s been through so much as a character and deserves to have happy moments with him, her teacher, and her dog
• Visiting the prisoners who kept her company
• We saw SO MUCH of her story in the end of season 2, pre-finale, that she could be a contender for a wrapped up storyline and then death, complete with sobbing montage of her joining her loving mother and her last-min healed relationship with her father
  • I do think they were planning to wrap up her story in season 3 so her character could die with a completed story arc if Doona were to leave, but have enough story that Sun could live and continue

I hit Reddit’s character limit before writing this all and needing to split it into two posts, but I figured its better to post in quick succession and add on later. There’s lots I’ve left out- would be very grateful for you alls’ thoughts and continuation of this discussion!

We know naman na hindi na priority sa casting ang maging kamukha or kahit konting resemblance ang artists na magiging family nila sa movie/teleserye. Sino ang mga artista na nagportray ng roles na magkapamilya na convincing based on looks?
For me, convincing yung Four Sisters and a Wedding. Bea and Shaina passed as sisters na nagmana kay Coney. Tapos si Toni, Angel, and Enchong naman yung magkapatid na siguro mana sa tatay with smaller eyes.
Convincing din for me yung sa Pangako Sa’yo. Anak ni Angelica Panganiban at Alex Medina si Daniel Padilla.
