No money came out of my account. They had that friend send the money back to me which they did when the friend sent the money back to me they had me deposit that money into my bank account. Cash app somebody else money I sent money to my mom, but it was double the amount I did for the first time that came out my mom was the send it back to me however it would not work My mom input some banging information thinking it was my bank. Turns out they sent it to a green dot bank.
They then had her make a transaction on Venmo send it to me. It would not transfer into my bank from Venmo so they had a card on that account and they took money through there. Will Huntington help me get this money back through fraud

At the risk of sounding arrogant, I consider myself to be at least marginally more intelligent (both academically & socially) than the average person. Therefore, if I ever decided to suddenly risk prison time, risk my reputation, and risk enduring the wrath of modern-day “cancel culture” by scamming people out of their money:

• I certainly wouldn’t do it for such paltry amounts of money. (i.e., anything less than $1,000 per victim.)
• I certainly wouldn’t choose high school & college students as my “target audience” to scam, considering that most people without college degrees have abysmally low annual incomes. Why choose low-income victims when it would be much more profitable to target high-income, high-net-worth individuals earning at least six figures a year? I have knowledge in business consulting, and I promise you that a business owner would be a MUCH more lucrative mark than a low-income college student.
• I wouldn’t choose such a time & energy-draining method of scamming people. Also, communicating back and forth with potential clients is an absurdly long time sink since only less than 10% of all potential clients who reach out to me actually become paying clients of mine. This means that 90% of my time communicating with potential clients ultimately proves to be a colossal waste of my irretrievable time & energy.

Hello! Our family will be in Bali for three weeks in June and July. There is a lot of conflicting information out there about cell phones in Bali, SIM cards, import duties etc etc…I wanted to start a post to get everything in one place.

1. If you have an ATT service with international plan, can you just use your Iphone while in Bali or do you have to get the SIM?
2. There’s a lot about getting a SIM card for your phone at the airport. Do you just buy the SIM card or do you have to buy a plan to go along with the SIM card?
3. If you have a new phone that doesn’t use SIM cards, there are posts about getting e-SIM cards, which sound more like apps. How does this work? Is it like a paid phone app that you call from on your phone?
4. Which eSIM app do you recommend?
5. I worry a little about downloading non-US apps and getting tracked or hacked. Should I be worried?
6. I’ve seen posts about import duties on tourists phones. How does that work…do we need to be worried if we are staying less than 30 days?

So a few days ago I saw a post on indiatech, where someone was promoting their own app. App is supposed to be like a app lock with timer for insta and other social media to stop doom scrolling and wasting time. Good concept but app sucks ass. Like I use a Samsung s20 it's not a weak phone by any measures it could probably run gta 5 at 50 fps if possible. But the moment I downloaded the app my ram got sucked dry. Almost after a day of using, my phone crashed twice. Also the app ask too many permission i was afraid my fampay with 50 ruppees would get hacked. Either remove unnecessary code or optimise it. Idk But godham ur app sucks TLDR : downloaded Wallhabit, deleted it within 24hrs cause it sucked

Edit: OTPs were sent to both mobile phone/SMS and email.

TL;DR: Money withdrawn illegally and unknowingly via connectIPS account. How did the hackes get the OTP codes sent to the mobile phone?
Okay someone I know just had a meltdown a couple hours back this evening. Lets call them Raj. He has a Windows 10 laptop and an uptodate Samsung Galaxy S22 ultra or something.
Raj downloaded a sketchy executable batch file kinda thing from somewhere, the link being sent by someone on facebook under the guise of "Data Entry Software". Raj was told to run that file, and that they'd send another software for the actual work. Raj was looking for a job on the side to help with family expenses, etc. He is a devout hard worker and a lovely soul, but he deserved much more than what his job currently offered financially.
This was 1 week back. Today, Raj's phone lights up with notifications for login attempts to their rarely used connectIPS account, as if someone were trying to go through the "forgot password" route. He had his Laxmi Bank account linked to his connectIPS one. And then he gets a lot of OTPs for transaction. Lo and behold, the money is all gone from his Laxmi Bank account!
He asks for my help. I login to his connectIPS. Doesnt seem to show main balance/loaded funds anywhere at first glance, the interface is as unintuitive as it can get. Anyhoo, I find the transactions history - there were 9 made during the past hour. One 1 lakh transfer to a bank account and the remaining 8 to 2 Khalti wallets in batches, 50k at a time, 2 lakh into each. Total - Rs 5,00,000.
We have the names and the numbers of the recipient accounts. But they might not be the real culprits, the hackes might be just bouncing off those acounts to muddle their tracks.
He says that he hadn't logged in to his bank or connectIPS account since he ran the shady trojan batch file. He also said that the connectIPS password wasn't saved in Chrome when he tried logging in to check what the hell was up. He also wonders if his connectIPS password was reset by the hackes, since he either didnt remember the password, or what he remembered no longer worked -- his last use of the platform was so long ago that he doesn't exactly know.
Now I can understand what all could be done if some hacker got such direct access to your Windows computer, but what puzzles me is how they got access to the OTPs sent to his mobile phone!
Could it be that the suspect windows batch file scanned the local WiFi for other devices and injected code into the android phone completely invisibly, without any user input? Or is the central OTP sending server or their crypto/hashing compromised, in that one could generate OTPs at his/her will (like keygens for pirated software)?
Also, I'm not sure, but does connectIPS also concurrently send OTPs to email ID? (which could have been compromised since the hackes had full access to Raj's laptop)
I'm sorta the tech savvy one in our circle, but this is perplexing to me quite a bit. I know its all technically possible to be hacked and defrauded this way -- anyone watching enough movies/tv shows would... but how exactly did they get the OTPs.
And what should Raj do in this case? He already asked Laxmi bank to block his mobile/internet banking. He called up connectIPS guys (interesting that even a sorta government affiliated agency would respond at such hours), one of them forwarded his issue around to many via email. And he has contacted Nepal Police cyber crime division, who have asked him to file a report/send letteemail and some evidence (ex. transaction history).

It’s been a while and I haven’t heard/seen much more of that so I feel like it’s safe to try downloading again. What do you guys think? Do you have any tips on safe ways to do that? So, 2 years ago blackbarnabyjones posted I think I might have found a time-hack. A way to slow time down back to normal for a bit. Need y'all to test it., where he explains that although the days have been shortened to 16 hours, he was still able to prevent time from speeding up further by playing music (in the background). This way, the seconds remain constant whenever it is playing, although they still remain 1/3rd shorter than old world seconds.
But, for people who work @ home and do not necessarily own a cd player, there's still a way to time-hack, with or without music.
This is how you do it:
W/ music: Download your favorite album(s) and play it on repeat, do not stop the music until the day is over and it's time to go to bed. Do not worry about the length of the album, as long as the music is audible it should work.
Without music: Download or bookmark a 60bpm metronome such as this one. Set the volume to 10-15% and loop it (right click->loop), it should be barely audible. This is perfect for people who feel that music is too distracting.

I have a freshly installed wikimedia wiki, to which I would like to add various templates.
Up until now everything is fine, I download some templates using the Export function from Wikipedia, however it keeps throwing up an error message on the Import page of my wiki. I wanted to have a modpack that not only has immersive tech and advanced rocketry but also uses it with some logic. And it should have some progression in it.
Immersive engineering is great but once you have the heavy industry to mine ores and generate power you are already done with the endgame.
Advanced rocketry is great but (disregarding all its bugs) it can have improvements in power generation and material processing.
So I created my own modpack and changed many recipes and the energy system so that you actually need to build the beautiful heavy generators of immersive tech to power your factory and the refined storage system. And you need to use the multiblock machines more often for recipes that can no longer be crafted in a craftingtable.

A Modpack for lovers of Advanced Rocketry and Immersive Tech
With this modpack you can build rockets and travel to other planets or build a space station!
You can use a buildcraft quarry to help you in early game to get some ores while you start to create your little Minecolony. With the ressource production from your colony and the quarry you can build more expensive heavy industry machines to start your rocket production. Of course heavy machinery needs heavy power generation. You can use the diesel generator for the basic machines but you want to upgrade to a steam turbine if you want to get your industry going.
You can dig for oil with the giant pumpjack and refine it into diesel in a large distillation tower, or you go "green energy" and make a solar tower. Last one might produce less energy but does not require any fuel.
Oh and one more thing: If you need water, you need to get it from a river or ocean biome because there is no infinite water in other biomes. if it is a large distance to the next river / ocean you could build a railway with tank carts to collect a ton of water at once and store it at your base. You can also find water deep underground and pump it up like oil. The core sample drill will help you there. You better find a good water supply or there is no steam turbine for you. And you need some water to generate rocket fuel.
Guide on power generation:
1: Early game:
For early game power generation you can use buildcraft engines. Combustion engines can burn oil, diesel, gasoline and lubricant - but the last one does not make much power. You can collect oil with a bucket from oil springs or use a pump to power your combustion engine.
If you do not see any oil you can build stirling engines and burn coal. You might find a dark oak biome where you can get much wood in a short time because of the big trees.
2: Scaling up:
Once you have crafted a distillation tower you can refine oil into diesel, gasoline and lubricant. You can use the diesel in a diesel generator. This will give you some good power for your rocket factory or to power an excavator. The gasoline can be processed in a portable generator or in a buildcraft combustion engine.
Note: The buildcraft engines need a energy bridge to connect with other energy systems. Pipe buildcraft energy into a MJ energy consumer. Place the energy bridge next to the consumer. Place a RF/FE energy producer next to the energy bridge too. You can now use connectors to connect wires to the FE/RF producer. You can reverse this process too if you want a high speed quarry ;)

Build a gas turbine - it can burn gasoline much more efficiently than a portable generator and it makes much power. It also does not require water but it is a very loud process.... Build a boiler to burn diesel or biodiesel and produce steam. pipe the steam into a steam turbine. Of course you could just build a big diesel generator array 4: Power on space stations:
Because there is no infinite water you will need different ways to produce water and energy.
You can mine for gas on gas giants and use oxygen and hydrogen to make steam in a refinery and pipe it into a steam turbine. Collect water from the output of the steam turbine. Note that for the steam turbine to generate power you need a high flow rate of steam. If the flow rate is too low you will not get energy. If you have no water but access to gasoline or rocket fuel, you can use both in a gas turbine or a portable generator to produce energy. Optifine and Shaders
Optifine is recommended to run the included shader. Other shaders except for the included one might have skybox errors.
Optifine and shader installation:
get Optifine from here: OptiFine Downloads (download optifine for 1.12.2) run the jar file click on "extract" move the optifine_MOD.jar to the mods folder when using shader, find "config/advRocketry/advancedRocketry.cfg" and open in editor. Set "overworldSkyOverride" to false. If this is set to true you will get skybox errors
Note that the shader has some difficulties to run on other planets. It uses the end shader now on other planets. you can turn off shaders in the video settings. If you want to play all without shader you can edit the advanced rocketry config and set "overworldSkyOverride" to true. This will enable better sky in the overworld but it is not compatible with shaders.

Specifically in Asia, they think hacking is part of the game. Sometimes maybe the usual ddoss to lag an opponent out, sometimes more.
They seems to think gaining an unfair advantage is part of the game. They often promote people into learning how to hack the game.
While they are at it, they will often leave behind hints that they are hacking. And anyonye that doesn't hack they refer them as "noobs/nooby". My understanding is that they are not good at the game, but they are able to gain an unfair advantage over an opponent using cheats/hack outside of the game and since the game is "free to play", their reason is that there is no reason not to cheat because it is free.
And anyone is able to download and use cheats therefore the people that are not doing it is "noob".
I think these group of people are from the 1.6 era, some of their cheats is very similar to speedhacks in cs1.6. The principle is pretty much the same.
Maybe the player got a bit older and bored of being competitive all the time, but they still wanted to play cs. So they load cheats up and jumps into cs2.

To preface this post, I want to give the disclaimer that like many things, there is not a black and white answer the question. I'm writing this as an experienced tech professional, and the information provided is based on opinion.
To start with. A little bit of history..
The golden age of software engineering(and similar jobs) is over. At least for the next 5 - 10 years. I don't think this is an unpopular opinion. The reason why between the years of 2010 - 2022, these jobs exploded, was because of the boom of the internet for commercial and personal use.
This is different from the dotcom boom of 2000s, where the internet was just starting and most of the products being created were for basic things like: putting banking on the internet, putting videos on the internet, etc.
The boom in the 2010s was related to the widespread popularity of commercial and personal products. Things like Uber, Spotify, and Salesforce. With the sudden increased usage of the digital world, there were MILLIONS of companies rushing to create digital products.
However, we're starting to see the rise and fall of some of these products, millions of startups failings, and less VC funding. In case you don't know, VC stands for Venture Capital, which are basically investment companies that give money to other companies to help them grow and develop, in return for partial ownership of the company.
As the industry began to mature, successful companies started to emerge, and many more started to fail.
The present day..
Software engineering and like jobs will continue to be important, and there will be a high demands for these engineers. Nearly every company will still need a website, a place to manage their data, and people to manage their hardware. BUT.. the basic technologies they need to run their company will become more efficient. AND there will be less research and innovation because the a lot of the trial and error already occurred.
We're in a weird spot where the demand for workers is now decreasing from it's recent peaks, and the supply of workers is now increasing because of how all the benefits of being a software engineer in the past decade.
This has really unfortunate consequences for any recent graduates or others trying to break into the tech field. There are WAY more beginning career people than jobs available. Which is made even worse with the amount of layoffs there are, where mid-level employees are now having to settle for entry level jobs.
What can we do?
I have two pieces of advice for people interested in the topic, or wanting to break into the field but can't. Try breaking in from a adjacent field, where you can get some exposure to tech. Things that data entry, analytics(this can be finance, supply chain etc). Then try to learn as much as you can from the tech people at your company.
The second piece of advice. Go into a different field. Software engineering is not for everyone. You have to learn and understand some relatively complex topics, and it's becoming harder and harder to be competitive in the industry. Healthcare, supply chain, and many other industries are booming right now.
Understanding history, you can see that certain industries will rise and fall. For the near future, technology might be one of the harder careers to break into. Something like healthcare would be that's expected to grow exponentially. The average population of the world is getting older, as less and less people are wanting to have kids. There will be higher demand for healthcare professionals and healthcare technology.
Do your best to review and understand these trends, and hopefully you can create a good life and career. Best of luck!

I have an almost photographic memory of the scenes. Although I may have mixed up the order, it probably won't make this harder to solve. I saw this short ad/film on an Eee laptop running Xandros in Sweden, from ~2008-2010 (wikipedia image of that laptop). Also I can't give a 100% guarantee that this ad wasn't downloaded after 2010, because this laptop was gifted to my mother somewhere in ~2012-2013. And I can't guarantee it isn't from before 2008. It is set in the real world, and uses irl scenes, but does have computer graphics. I don't remember why now, but the scenes looked asian at the time. I have been trying to find it for ages, but with no luck, and I have seen users who vaguely remember it. Based on what goes on, i think it is an antivirus ad, but i don't remember the name of the actual product. And here is the description of all scenes I remember:

• White stairs going down/up, based on context looks like an office building
  
• A room, I don't remember the exact interior, but there is a stationary pc, a desk and a table, a window, and also maybe some drawers. A human walks out and closes the door the camera shows.. one of those small wooden mannequins, which have many joints, standing on the table in the middle of the room
  
• Camera shifts to the pc, and it makes a lot of noise. Suddenly, a large, mechanical fly flies out of it, and with time there are more and more of them
  
• Back to the mannequin, it transforms into a small robot and has an epic battle with the flies. I don't remember the exact colors, but I think it was still wooden, with some green(?) elements, and a glowing.. ring(?) on the chest. Also has a shield I think
  
• As i said, fights the flies, one scene they fight with a fly near a quartz clock
  
• But the flier are too many, so they win and punch the robot into a wall (probably was a table or a drawer). It feels like all hope is lost, but suddenly the robot chest flashes with white, and he becomes super strong. Even has a really cool scene where he slices through a fly in something that looks like stopped time
  
• And in the end he wins, and transforms back right before the human enters the room again
  

I try to find this one once every year, but without any results.
