I listened to an audiobook on Everand last year and it has disappeared from my search history completely.
It was about a girl who had at least two older sisters, plus a set of twin girls who were younger than her. I believe they lived on a farm and were raised by the maternal grandmother whom the village thought was a witch. Their father was kind of an abusive jerk who wanted a son. He was about to marry off his oldest daughter to a creepy man in the village for money and before this could happen, the three oldest girls went to see the travelling circus. The oldest sister loved to dance and wanted to join the circus to run away from her arranged marriage, so she does that night once everyone gets back. Months go by and the sister doesn't return. The narrator gets into a heated argument with her father over him getting ready to marry the NEXT oldest sister off, steals the family horse and leaves to track down the eldest who has been missing for months. She gets some kind of virus from a mosquito and passes out with her horse out in a swampish area. She is taken in by a middle aged brother and sister who nurse her back to health. Once better, she wants to go out looking for her sister again but they try to sway her not to. She does anyway, and on her journey in the dark, she hears her abusive fathers voice and the voice of the creepy man who wanted to marry the eldest daughter. They are looking for her in the heavy fog and darkness. She ends up escaping them and finding the traveling circus. The boy who's father owns the circus tells her she never came to them to join. The narrator then starts the travel back home, back through the treacherous fog swamp/lake and discovers her sisters dead body in the water among thousands of other dead bodies....Luckily I read it not that long ago so I remember a fair bit about it still, but none of my key words are producing good results in google.

100 Awesome Flash Fiction Prompts - Plus Bonus Prompts!
We’ve put together 100 flash fiction prompts, each one designed for a very short story. These prompts will probably be best suited to a story of between 300-1,000 words. If you want to write a longer story using these prompts, you can easily expand these ideas to fit a story of any length.
What is flash fiction?
Flash Fiction is defined as a very short story that can be anywhere from just a couple of words to about a thousand in length. The beauty (and difficulty) of writing flash fiction lies in trying to tell a complete story in so few words. Great flash fiction is succinct, emotive, thought-provoking, and impactful.
What’s the difference between flash fiction and a short story?
The only difference between flash fiction and a typical short story is the word count. However, this scarcity of words means that writing flash fiction can feel like a completely new skill. Just like the short story is a different animal to the novel or novella; flash fiction is kind of unique.
When writing flash, you’ll need to use fewer characters, a simpler plot, and you’ll have to make each word count. This is why editing is so important. You have to be brutal. Cut out everything superfluous and really make sure each and every word is performing an important function in the story. If you’re interested in writing very short fiction, why not check out drabbles? Drabbles are stories of exactly 100 words in length, and they can be a great way to practice keeping your stories very, very short.
How to plot a flash fiction story
When you sit down to write flash fiction, you must begin by choosing an appropriate plot. You cannot simply use a short story plot and tell it using fewer words. A typical flash fiction plot is like looking at one part of a story under a microscope.
For example, let’s look at prompt #21 in our list of 100 Flash Fiction Prompts:

1. Two people on a sinking ship must decide who should take the last seat in the last lifeboat. If you were writing a novel about a sinking ship, you’d probably want the actual sinking to be the climax of the story. Of course, there are infinite ways to write a novel about a sinking ship, but this would structurally be the most obvious. You’d use the first part of the novel to introduce your characters and describe the voyage leading up to the sinking and the sinking of the ship would be the dramatic climax, leaving the last part of the book as the resolution.

The golden rule of writing short stories is to begin as close to end as you can. So, to turn the same story from novel to short story, you’d probably want to begin with the ship sinking. You haven’t got time to introduce the characters before the action begins, so you’d need to feed in exposition and backstory here and there during the events.
All stories need a good climax. So, you would find the most dramatic moment in the story and build up to it. Perhaps your climax would be the two main characters having to decide who will take the remaining seat on the last lifeboat.
Finally, you need a resolution. In a longer short story you do have time to bring in some kind of satisfying resolution at the end.
But, if you’re writing flash fiction and your story is only a few hundred words, you really need to zoom in on one tiny moment in that story.
You don’t have time to tell the entire story of a sinking ship, but you can turn one moment into a story.
We’ve chosen the lifeboat situation as the key moment in this hypothetical story. Two characters must decide which one of them will take the last seat on the last lifeboat. This is an appropriate plot for flash fiction because it’s simple, high-stakes, dramatic, and thought provoking.
Not all flash fiction will have a plot quite this dramatic, but all great flash fiction will have a plot that can be expressed in just one or two sentences.
If you have a plot in mind, but it seems more suitable for a longer story, you can sometimes find several flash fiction plots hidden within it. Just look for little stories within the story, like the lifeboat moment in our hypothetical tale of the sinking ship.
This brings us to our top tip for coming up with ideas for flash fiction stories:
if you’re ever stuck for ideas, you can find little stories within the story in books, movies, and TV shows. A full length feature film might have as many as 20 little incidents in it that could easily be flash fiction.
Don’t directly write a story based on the film, though. Just carefully pick out those little moments, write down what’s happening as a one or two sentence plot, and then use it to inspire your own, completely original flash fiction story.

How to write very short flash fiction
There are several reasons writers might start writing flash fiction. Of course, it could be that they just love and enjoy the form, but sometimes they’ll be a more strategic and practical reason at play.
Perhaps they want to practise the process of writing stories within the confines of a certain word limit. Maybe they are trying to develop a daily writing routine and they don’t have a lot of free time. It could be that they’re trying to break a habit of not finishing writing projects, or perhaps they are entering a flash fiction competition.
Whatever the reason, very often when we sit down to write flash, we must work under an imposed or self-imposed word restraint. We’ve set ourselves (or been set) the task of keeping the story under a particular number of words.
So, how do you plot a flash fiction story when you have to keep your story very, very short.
We’re not going to discuss stories of 100 words or fewer here. Technically, those stories are still flash, however, we prefer to categorise 100 word stories as drabbles and anything under 100 words as micro fiction.
But what if you have to keep your flash fiction story under, let’s say, 300 words? How do you write a flash fiction story that short?
The answer is: get your microscope out again. Remember earlier when we said writing flash fiction is like looking at part of a story under a microscope? If you have to write very short flash fiction, you’ll need to zoom in even further.
Let’s look at a couple of examples from our 100 Flash Fiction Prompts:

1. During a match, a young boxer must decide whether to throw the fight.

If you had 1,000 words to devote to the story, you could have time to tell the story of the entire fight. With only 300 words, it might be better to zoom in on the very moment when the boxer must choose whether or not to go down.
In a longer flash fiction story you might have time to go into detail about why he’s in this situation and why he’s so conflicted. In a 300 word story, you might only devote one or two sentences to his gambling debt and the large sum of money waiting for him if he goes down in the third round, as instructed.

1. A family must decide what to take and what to leave behind as a wildfire approaches their home.

If you had 1,000 words to devote to this story, you might be able to write about the whole process of choosing what to take and what to leave behind. You might be able to mention many different choices and have the whole family participate in the story. You’d be able to go into some details about certain choices and the stories behind individual objects or mementos, as well as the implications of choosing certain things over others.
With only 300 words, it would be advisable to zoom in on one member of the family and to focus on one profound and important choice.
How to write a flash fiction story
Now you have your mini plot, you still need to make sure your flash fiction feels like a complete story. It should still have a beginning, middle, and an end.
Just like a short story, you may need to bring in a little exposition here and there to give texture, context, backstory, and to bring some depth to the characters. But, unlike a short story, you won’t necessarily need to end with a full, detailed resolution. It’s quite common for a flash fiction story to end with a quick twist or plenty of ambiguity.
Flash Fiction is much more about eliciting emotions and provoking thought, than setting up and resolving a complex story.

Hey everyone, I need some help!! I’m trying to find a book I read a while ago that I loved and I don’t remember the title or authors name.
The FMC(I don’t remember her name) was dating a guy named Colton I believe. She also has a best friend named either Maddie or Madeline that she lives with. In the beginning she goes to some dinner party her boyfriend is throwing and they have an argument and break up and she ends up leaving the party on the back of his half-brothers motorcycle. I’m pretty sure the half brothers name starts with an R (Royal? Something along those lines maybe). She also joins her ex and the MMC(the half brother) at dinner at their parents house at one point. Anyways the MMC owns a bar that has a tattoo shop in it and he works alongside two other guys (one of which is named Jax) and they all ride motorcycles. The MMC tries to push the FMC away because he isn’t good enough for her. She goes to him for a tattoo which he does at his house. The MMC in the book is a widow, his wife and child had been murdered in their house while he was on his way home one day. But it turns out at the end of the book that his daughter was alive the whole time. He doesn’t find this out until the end because he leaves town to get his crap together for a while. The FMC ended up adopting his daughter because she found out that the sheriff she is somehow related to was visiting a young girl at a foster home which turned out to be the MMC’s daughter, and they became a family at the end of the book.
Does this ring a bell for anyone? It’s an interconnected standalone series. Any ideas would be helpful!

I female 22, have been in a relationship with my parter m(20) since August of 22. I was living with my mom when we got together. He moved in for 22 days then had to start college n I saw him every weekend. Come November, I miscarried, I was 8 weeks, periods were always spot on, have a 2 year old, so when my period was late n late n late, I put it together, by end of December, we were pregnant again, she is now 9 months. My boyfriend is an alcoholic. I've kinda wondered if he was only with me for the perks of I can buy his alcohol but I always just threw it over my shoulder.. yk oh no he's with me bc he loves me.... he turns 21 the exact day our lease ends... I'm torn to pieces. My oldest daughter's father, I pissed him off one night, was straight forward with him, he didn't like it, told me to pack my shit. Verity was only 2 months old. Evalyns 9 months.. and here I go... having to raise children by myself... AGAIN. I feel so betrayed.. my boyfriends mom, bought a house n we were supposed to rent it together. I've put 15 hours of MY time to paint the entire place. After work 8-5 everyday whilst taking care of kids between paint coats.. I know that I can take care of them both. I have the funds for it but.. it hurts like he'll. N he was gonna make me move back in with my mom knowing damn well she physically abuses me as well as emotionally and mentally. He's seen her physically abuse me... his mom is beyond upset n hurt, I went to her bc I can't tell my mom anything. She bad mouths me, she was tryna dcf me when I got dropped on my ass with my oldest.. so.. idk this brings up a whole buttload of emotions but I wanted to get it out and I can't really tell a whole Lotta people right now, so... if you've read and left me a comment. I failed my family. Not once not twice but over and over again. I’ve contemplated this for years. I’ve tried meds, I’ve tried therapy, I’ve tried excercise and recently I’ve tried to reach out to God. I’ve lost faith and the longer I stick around the more damage I do. My kids are starting to be older now and my actions affect them more now then when they were too young to know better. I don’t know how to change. I swear I try. I think about ways to be better every single day and when it comes to actually putting it into practice I crumble. Today my daughter had a tummy ache and didn’t want to go to school, I didn’t believe her and was so cold about it. My harshness put her into a panic and I just got more mad. I wasn’t there for her like a hood father would be. I told her to quit faking it and knock it the f off. I got so mad at her. I don’t blame her for distancing herself from me for the last year. I was a fun dad when all they needed from me was play but now that they need emotional support I don’t know how to be there for them. I am emotionally immature and I don’t think I have the capacity to reason or understand what anybody but myself is going through. I am a selfish piece of shit.
This is numerous incidents over the years and st this point I believe I am doing more damage to my kids by sticking around than if I was gone. Suicide/ accidental death has been on my mind ever since I can remember being conscious. It has always been a fantasy of being on the verge of death and having my family worry for me. It’s like I really want to know what my life means to them. How stupid does that sound? We’ll it’s the truth. The most selfish act a human can do. My wife was right. I am a selfish piece of shit. Maybe if I had a father of my own I would be a different person. I am a nobody. I was born with no name and no father. In my early years I would use this as motivation to create my own family and be everything I never had. I failed tremendously and I don’t see any other way out.

When we learned about communication, I didn't realize how vital certain parts are like relational words comparative and superlative descriptive words, and strategies for comparing, differentiating or contrasting, and classifying data. Over time, I found that learning more about this stuff will make me a better person and a better communicator.
I shall begin with relational words or the Prepositions of Place. These small words like "in" "on" "at" "over" "under" and "between" are more capable than they look like. They give us assistance to know which or where stuff or places are. For Example, saying "the cat is on the table" is direct, but "the cat is under the table" gives a clearer picture to where exactly the cat is. This kind of accuracy is important, whether you're giving directions or telling a story.
Another one is comparative and superlative descriptive words. These are words we always use or utilize to compare things and show who’s more superior. Comparatives, like "bigger" or "more interesting," compares two things, while superlatives, like "biggest" or "most interesting," show who’s or what’s more interesting or highly rated among three or more things. like for example, if I say, "This Festival is more exciting than the last one" you get a sense of improvement like there seems to be an improvement from before and now. But if I say, "This is the most exciting Festival I've ever been," it takes it to a higher level like something in game like before its just 10 then it became 50 and you take it to the next level and said its 100x better. These adjectives helps us convey details about our experiences and preferences and stuff.
Comparing is another basic ability in communication. It gives us the ability to find similarities and difference. When we compare, we always use structures like "as...as" to compare similarities (e.g., "He is as strong as his brother") or comparatives to compare the difference (e.g., "He is stronger than his father"). This ability to compare makes our points clearer and our arguments stronger.
Differentiating, on the other hand, focuses on differences. For example, " He loves reading, unlike his brother" clearly shows how they’re different. This is really helpful when you are a debate or when you want to emphasize a specific point. It helps us understand what makes something unique or different.
Classifying is just about organizing information or stuff and things into categories to make it more easily accessible. For example, when talking about natural products, you can classify them into citrus, berries, and tropical natural products. By organizing it, it makes it easy to find and keep in mind. By collecting the same things together, you help people to see the connections between them, which helps in comprehension and retention.
Well in the end I learned that getting better at communication will help you make your ideas and thoughts clearer to others. And you’ll be able to share ideas, express feelings, and build relationships more effectively. And as you keep working on your communication skills, you’ll be more capable of handling the hard parts of talking to people, leading to deeper and more productive and meaning full conversations. Whether you’re talking with friends or presenting to colleagues, these skills are valuable. They make interactions smoother and more enjoyable for everyone.

The next day finds the military part of the Bridger family waiting in one of the larger cargo bays. Paladin company and Shark Platoon are on hand, all in full power armor except for Makula, with the exception of Jaruna who's standing next to Jerry in a family uniform with her shotgun and sword slung over her back. Jerry had also elected for a dress uniform today, though he'd paired it with a 'ceremonial' curaiss that could still take a hit from a plasma cannon or two... and concealed a small shield generator. Mixed with his cloak and the Crimsonhewer war ax on his belt, Jerry thought he looked every bit the barbarian warlord... if a bit too clean cut for a Hollywood depiction of such.
The situation reminded Jerry of a similar reception back on Serbow... but this one was a bit less ceremonial and a bit more... dynamic. They didn't have any formal bonds with Clan Karchara, or their Khan, Komugai. So as a meeting of two new to each other factions, things could get... exciting. Which considering they were talking about Cannidor meant that things could potentially get very violent, very quickly.
They usually didn't. Not any more. Yet... it never helped to play it safe, even with a clan that had a decent reputation like the Karchara. More cut throat clans had been heard to disguise themselves for meetings like this for meetings so they could ambush their targets after all. Plus as always, there was tradition to observe and satisfy. Tradition which could be best summarized as 'Offer one hand, but arm the other.'. The Cannidor were ready to fight a war naked among any people but their own. They were beyond dangerous. So an armed society wasn't so much a polite society as the unarmed were likely mentally infirm, and to be politely left to their own devices.
A sharp whistle from the 1MC draws Jerry from his thoughts.
"Now hear this! The Clan Karchara envoy is arriving!"
The Karchara drop ship slides into view out of the black and makes it's way towards the docking day with all the leisurely grace of a terrestrial shark swimming towards a coral reef. Whoever's piloting it is clearly a hot hand on the stick because the ship moves as smooth as anything Jerry had ever seen out of Cruel Space, extending it's landing gear and coming to a halt with nary a hint of a bounce in it's suspension and shock absorbing gear.
"Hmmm. The Karchara..." Jaruna rumbles. "An interesting contact in Cannidor space to be sure. So to recap what we talked about, they're somewhat on and off again allies of my old clan. Decent types for the most part. No idea who the Khan is now, and a little searching online didn't turn anything up. Don't think the intelligence weasels had anything either. Save that they've been having some internal structural changes. Seized a new planet too, lighting raid, unconventional tactics, whatever that means. Gives them complete control of... ten decently populated and industrialized star systems I think. They're firmly in the middle of the power band for the Khans by that measurement, exact position depends on the number of warriors under arms they can bring to the Golden Khan's muster."
"Right. Well. Guess we'll have to see what Khan Karchara wants to chat about, and hear about this plan of hers."
The Karchara drop ship settles onto it's landing gear, and it's flight crew leaves the engines running. Tradition. You never knew if a reception was actually friendly after all, and it was also a mark of respect for the hosts. You might be asked to fuck off after all.
The forward assault ramp drops, and the honor guard warriors of the Khan march out, in power armor, but with their helmets off, fanning out to cover their leader. The lack of helmets was very much a declaration of intent, the human equivalent of open palms for a Cannidor in power armor.
Jaruna's brow instantly furrows as she scans the faces of the honor guard.
"...Wait. I know some of those girls. One of my aunts, Norkath is there on the left, and that's... but that."
Jerry can hear Jaruna's brain crunching that information.
"...Komugai. You said the Khan's name was Komugai? Not Jelvuna?"
"Definently Komugai."
"...Unless she changed her name... but then would Aunt Norkath join the Karchara proper without her...?"
Jaruna mutters to herself, clearly trying to puzzle whatever's eating at her out, when the sound of heavy boots on the assault ramp sound, and an utterly massive Cannidor woman starts to come into view. She cuts an imposing presence. Her uniform not too far off from Jerry's, a mix of barbarian warlord and modern dress uniform. The massive war ax over her shoulder tipping the scales on the barbarian - modern officer scale towards barbarian. It was easy to miss her other various weapons in the sheer scale of her. Her stark white fur, the three brutal scars across her muzzle, and another two over her left eye, which had a cybernetic replacement.
Khan Karchara stands for a moment, surveying the room silently... and before anyone can say anything, Jaruna breaks the silence;
"...Mom?"
Khan Karchara cuts loose with a booming laugh that reminds Jerry of Khan Isuras, and if this is indeed Jaruna's mother, he can immediately see exactly why the two women cut palms and swore sisterhood. He wouldn't be hard pressed to believe they were actual sisters.
"Heh. Glad to see all that time on Centris hasn't dulled your powers of observation! Always said you were a sharp one."
There's no sarcasm there, a little maternal teasing perhaps, but she's not mocking Jaruna. Anyone with eyes can tell Khan Karchara is damn proud of her child.
"And this'd be my son in law... bit small but hell just from your first date with my little girl I know you're a first class head kicker, plus you already gave me four grandbabies to spoil! Hahah. I suppose these bigguns here are the older girls? I... say. I thought there was three of you."
Karchara points at Makula.
"You're a bit old to be Hippolyta considering she was born a couple weeks ago. Who are you, girl?"
"Makula Sa'Bridger, I was adopted a few days ago. Honored Matron."
Karchara grins, her numerous teeth gleaming in the light of the hangar.
"Matron? Not Khan?"
"You are my mother's mother, standing in my family's clan hold. To refer to your title by right of blood is most appropriate."
Another bark of laughter.
"Well drilled and whip smart I see. You know the ways of our kind well, granddaughter." Karchara smirks, looking smug before turning to her honor guard.
"See girls? Five now! Haha! What a stud of a bull!"
Khan Karchara turns back to Jerry and Jaruna.
"Ah but I'm getting ahead of myself. Let's get the formal bit done so we can go jaw a bit and then hopefully I can visit with my eldest daughter, my son in law and these fine young ladies."
She quickly shifts her body a bit, drawing herself up to her full, imposing twelve foot height.
"I am Komugai, Khan of Karchara. I come to broker peace and fellowship between our clans, to join them in a bond of steel that will stand the sword storm for all time."
Jerry nods slowly. More than they'd expected actually. That was laying out intent to conduct some very, very serious negotiations.
"I, Jeremiah, Khan of Bridger, Admiral of this fleet, lord of these proud warriors before you, bid you welcome, Komugai of Karchara, bring your banner among ours, that they might rest together while we discuss the business of peace, and of wars yet to come."
"Well spoken indeed... and the steel in your eyes." Komugai nods slowly. "Yes, I see what you see in him, Jaruna, well past his considerable combat skills. All the better my dear son-in-law that you have already begun working on my grand design... but come, let us dismiss our warriors that they might go and eat, drink and enjoy themselves. We need only you, Jaruna, and perhaps my granddaughters for this business, so that they might learn the ways of leadership."
"I think we can accommodate that." Jerry says before turning and pulling the ax off of his belt and raising it high, an ancient Cannidor signal for attention from the leader of a warband to their warriors.
"Warriors, we walk with friends, show them to the promenade, that they might share our table while we discuss business."
Jerry and Jaruna guide Komugai to the conference room they'd prepared, while Joan and the girls quickly hustle to get their armor stowed and get their tails to the same spot. None of them wanted to miss a minute of this!
Still, the tension in the room's fairly heavy when the door closes, and Jaruna turns on her mother.
"Alright. We got a couple minutes till the girls get up here. What the hell, mom? You changed your name? Took over the Karchara? What the heck is going on?"
Komugai settles herself in a Cannidor scale chair, grinning all the while.
"You should be happier, daughter. This was inspired by you after all. When you left our band. Left the old clan... I knew you were right. We won't speak of that business, but we were obligated... and I should have been brave enough to refuse, but I lacked the standing... and perhaps the courage. So I did what any good Khan worth her blades would do and crammed it down their throats. Broke that clan, took them in, then subsumed the Karchara with my new band. They've got the older name, so I became Khan Karchara instead of remaining Khan Jormuntide. Your Aunt's got the title now. I'd offer it to you, but you've got your own clan now."
"So Jormuntide remains at least." Jaruna shuts her eyes for a second and lets out a slow breath. "You really did all this because of my idealistic and childish temper tantrum nearly a century ago?"
"Hardly childish. Idealistic? Absolutely. There's something to be said for actually trying to live up to our own ideals though. Especially as warriors. However, that is personal business, and we have business to discuss for the Undaunted first."
Komugai turns to face Jerry square on.
"Admiral Bridger, I'm prepared to offer two things to the Undaunted. One. I want to ally myself and my clan formally with the Undaunted. Second, I prepared to gift an entire star system to the same from my holdings. It is populated, but sparsely across three habitable worlds. Ripe for ongoing colonization and industrialization. To keep things fair, people within my clans will be given a chance to move to or from as they please if for some reason they don't wish for Undaunted citizenship. The Undaunted will then have the standing to select a Khan for your Cannidor population, both in Cannidor space, and Undaunted wide. A non voting position at first, but as the clan grows you will achieve that status quickly I believe."
Jerry stops dead. "...Did you just offer us a star system with three habitable worlds?"
"Yes."
"...Okay, I'm on board, but why?"
"Simply put, the worlds are marginal. They need investment. They need settlers. You need worlds. A strong alliance with humanity... and being the first Cannidor clan to extend that hand formally, even having your realm within my space... only benefits me. As I grow my own territory I might even cede another system to the Undaunted. If the Undaunted Khan helps me in those battles I damn sure will." Komugai chuckles. "We'll see how many Khans are stupid enough to try to fight me in the next few decades of course. The other thing I'm trading on is Undaunted naval power. As you just learned, we don't really do navies. I want a professional navy, the Undaunted have agreed to help me get it... and help secure my space once we secure them my end of the bargain, that, Admiral, is where you come in."
Jerry arches an eyebrow and gestures for Komugai to continue.
"Simply put, you need to do what you just did with that border bandit Khan Irgalas, but across Cannidor space. This isn't a done deal. It's up to the Grand Council and I'm but one vote. You already have an in with some of the other Khans, and the Undaunted are doing business with Cannid Solutions. That's an excellent start, and you just made a stellar formal introduction of yourself to Cannidor space. A flawless orbital and ground fight like that'll make sure word gets around that the Undaunted are here... and as dangerous as their rep says they are. I got a little list of the other movers and shakers you need to press the flesh with to win over key parts of the council. You make the rounds, and I'll be doing the same on my end. We meet on Canis Prime for the council meeting, and then we either have a huge brawl to make our point or toast victory with some top quality booze."
"You make it sound pretty simple." Jerry says, clearly not believing there's all there is to it.
Komugai shrugs. "It is simple in its concept. Pressing the flesh and winning the various Khans over won't be. They'll all have their little tests and challenges for you to get the measure of both humans and the Undaunted. We've seen a lot on the trivid as a species. A lot of us have heard stuff in the news or from kin. This is your chance to just straight up show people who you are and what you're about. Because now you're here, and therefore 'real'. If that makes any sense. Cannidor don't really care much about shit happening on the other half of the galactic disk. Undaunted, Humans, being here? Now? Now people will really start paying attention besides idly seeing if there's some interesting amateur porn or more combat footage available."
The Khan points over at Joan, Boudicca, Khutulun and Makula. "These four will likely be very critical to the warrior house's opinion of you... your next generation of warriors, your daughters. How are they treated? How are they trained? What's their mettle like? If they're strong, and worthy, you will impress the khans in a very good way. If my granddaughters are found wanting, they'd question a great many things... and could cause trouble when the Grand Council meets to discuss my little proposal, among other orders of business."
Jerry looks over at Joan and the girls, all four of them are suddenly looking very tense, especially Makula. "I have every confidence in all of my daughters to deal with anything the Khans can throw at them. Even Hippolyta if a trial suited for an infant is on hand."
That gets a chuckle from the girls, relaxing them a hair.
"Still. We'll burn that bridge when we get there. No sense borrowing trouble that hasn't come yet."
Komugai nods. "Wise words. Your diplomats have already approved this plan on their end, they'll send you the itinerary and all the fussy details shortly. Unless you have other questions for me?"
"I've heard there's a grand council of patriarchs too. Would getting in good with them help?"
That gets a full on shrug from the massive warrior woman. "Yes? I mean. Probably. No good way to arrange that though beyond asking my hubby, and I have. He said their council will handle things if it's deemed appropriate, and I don't need to fuss about it too much, and I know a polite way to be asked to fuck off when I hear one... so keep your head on a swivel on that one Jerry, I'm sure the patriarchs are well aware of the Undaunted... and are looking at a possible way to make warriors out of their sons without making their wives piss their frilly panties."
The khan's brilliant white teeth glitter in the room. "Back when we were the more traditional kind of savages back on our homeworld, the bulls did a lot of the leading and the fighting on an individual basis. Women however have always fought the wars. As we grew as a species, developed power armor, space travel, had our population bloom, a bull fighting another in single combat became less practical, and the other traditional male roles of shaman, guide, and brain trust came to the forefront. The council of patriarchs is an old body Jerry. Pre space flight. One of our first forms of international diplomacy between the khans. The matriarchs hold all the power... but when the council of patriarchs speaks, people know to shut up and pay attention."
Jerry nods slowly. Seemed like he'd just have to wait and see... and make sure he made a good impression when the opportunity presented itself.
"Well. I think that concludes everything we need to talk about professionally. Unless you have something else Khan Karchara?"
"Aww, just call me Mama like my big fuzz ball over here used to when we're not working! I've heard a bit about this little fortress of yours, could you all give me the tour? I'd like a chance to talk to all my new granddaughters after all."
Jerry shrugs. "Sure, we'll head up to the Den for a bit, then head down to the promenade to join the girls for some drinks and skewers. Our Cannidor eatery's got the best skewers in wild space whenever we're there."
"Don't I believe it, get to try some more Earth meats too! Bought a little sampler pack from a friend and good goddess, if you start exporting that bacon stuff in bulk, I'm going to invest in a chain of gyms, because there's going to be a lot of girls fighting to keep their girlish figures!"

my parents were always very dismissive about my emotions and i was ashamed of having them. nothing ever counted as good enough to cry for and whenever i was sad or felt love towards a friend or a partner, i got made fun of. my father was never a nice person to me, he was never physically absuive though. i got constantly told throughout my childhood that nobody will love me if im not pretty and always got made fun of for my weight. my father wanted for me to be perfect for the boys, while at the same time not giving a single f about my life. he would often work and we would have good times about once a week. sometimes he would not be home for months because he had a job and we barely had any contact during these times. i was raised by my grandmother and mother. layer i found out that my father was married to another woman a month before she had me, they then married a year later. i would often live with my grandparents during the summer where the local children taught me about sex, we would practice on different items and watch porn together. when i was 8, we had a big love to the states where i was almost always happy, but felt dissociated from my parents because i constantly read pornographic material and constantly bullied at school for my weight . we moved many times after that and my father became distant and secretive again. he would constantly say insults to my mother, which hurt me. i have been self harming since i was a teen, but my parents didn’t believe in depression so said i was doing it for attention. but recently i rememebered an event from my younger years, my mother was friends with a woman who she would leave me with whenever she needed to go soemwhere, the woman had a daughter about two years older than me. (i was seven she would be nine) and her father was an alcoholic. the girl constantly did things that i didn’t like such as cutting my hair or coloring my face with markers. she would take me to a dark spot in my room and make fun of of me saying that im her doll. i would reel my mom but she would brush it away. one time when we were there her dad was drinking and she grabbed me and turned the light off in the room and grabbed me by my waist and i said no i don’t want and she was lying on me and kept saying that in her teddy bear and and that she would squeeze me to death. she would then ask me if i knew about sex, i was uncomfortable but i w was a child and couldn’t say anything. i then remebwr she kissed me on the lips. i don’t remember anybting after hardy i think she just let me go and we went our own ways and i never thought anything of it at the time., but now it makes me a bit uncomfortable.

My daughter (almost 6) had been obsessed with cats forever. She really wants one. My husband grew up with cats but never “took” care of them. His mom did.
I have always had big dogs. (Same with my hubs). I have been taking my daughter to the humane society about once a month to play with the cats, “help” clean and care for them and generally expose her to the different cat personalities.
I’m allergic but am willing to get shots and I hear you get used to your own cat.
Here are my fears… I have met cats I LOVE and cats I did not like. For example I like most dogs I meet but cats that I like are like 1 in 5. But the cats I like, I’m crazy about.
I have heard absolute horror stories of my friends or family whose cat decided to be a dick and pees on the bed, pillows, clothes when they don’t like that their food changed, they went out town etc. (yes they were checked and cleared of diabetes, uti or other health concerns, cat was just an asshole). I do not think I could tolerate an intentional repeated offense like this. Obviously, I can tolerate an animal who is sick or had an accident but these cases were long term asshole cats.
I like social cats. I have personally watched my friends’ cats grow up for the last 13 years. They went from social cats to never leaving from under the bed. Years and years of the cats being terrified to leave a room. They did move in that time buts it’s been 4 years and they still never come out.
How do I prevent that “cat” smell? You know, you go over to a friends house and it absolutely reeks but they have no idea because they are used to it? I have other friends who have cats but their house doesn’t smell. They didn’t really have advice when I asked.
Anything special I should know? How do you pick your cat? What kind should I look for?

Hi, I’m 23 and i’m currently in a 7 & a half month long relationship with my partner also 23. For some context, growing up as a child and in my teens I had no one to trust, not even my parents. I had an absent father and an abusive mother. I’ve never been someone’s top priority.
Now onto the relationship. I just want to point out that we are in an LDR. At the beginning, everything was great. We met on a social media platform that we had known each other for years on as they were in a popular group that made music in a close community that has now separated. They “talked” to a LOT of people in that community, most of them are mutuals of mine. Im talking nudes, lewds, flirting, commenting on each others posts constantly, the lot. I also did “speak” to people in that community, but hardly ever shared nudes or lewds out of insecurity and fear of them being spread around.
When we first started talking, I had no idea they were also talking to another girl that was actually one of their longest friends. They made me feel like it was only me they talked to. When we made it official, I asked if they were talking to someone else whilst talking to me and they told me no. A couple months later I found out that they were also talking to this person. I woke them up crying feeling betrayed that they had lied to me. I never thought that it was considered cheating cause it was before we got together, but i felt betrayed that they had lied to me when i asked.
He told me that it was because he was scared, and he didn’t want to cut them off, I told him how uncomfortable it made me feel and asked them to remove the girl. They did. I’ve been trying to regain my trust since then. It’s been hard but i feel like i’ve made some progress. Until recently, i’ve been insanely paranoid and feel like he is going to do something, even though he reassures me that he wont, I just cant get over the lies and I really cant get over the fact that he’s seen the private parts of maybe a 1/4 of the people on his friends list. When i bring this up he tells me that they’re just mutuals, but i’ve seen convos, and they aren’t just mutuals..
I do want to add that those things happened before our relationship, he hasn’t done anything except like a couple of girls’ insta photos when he was “drunk”. I love him so fucking much but I cant take this emotional pain and paranoia and distrust anymore. I want this to work so much. But I don’t want to hurt him or myself, he’s one of the only reasons i’m still here.

I'm trying to decide between a few different character concepts for the next 5e D&D game my partner is running. One of the character concepts I'm considering is already pretty fleshed out, and I'll probably still talk about her because I love her, but the other two, I'm struggling with.
(For context, the campaign starts because the gods are pretty much all dead except for a select few, and the idea is to either restore or replace the gods by the end of the campaign. The absence of Mystra specifically is making magic go haywire in a variety of ways, including making it that most spells require a roll on a magic table until enough fragments of The Weave can be brought back together. We are also using gestalt rules, so I'm basically taking 2 classes at the same time, and homebrew is allowed so long as I get DM approval first. And we're starting at level 4.)

1. A changeling who functions as a "daughter", protector and errand girl of a coven of hags. I'm loosely basing this backstory on Pathfinder changeling lore where changelings are drawn to their hag mother when they reach a certain age. In this case, though, when this changeling got to her "mothers", she made a deal with them that, in exchange for letting her remain the way she is, she'd act as their assistant and the first line of defense against adventurers who may seek to harm them so they don't have to expend energy on trivial things. That did seem to be a deal that worked for them, but the moment the gods died and the hags magic was no longer a reliable means to keep her there, she left as fast as she could. She knows the hags will be searching for her, though, so she stays in the form of a half-elf and joins the quest to bring the gods back for the sole purpose of giving her an excuse to stay far away from the hags. I imagine they're either actively searching for her or pushing her to bring godly power back to them so they can become goddesses. (Currently playing around with the idea of Archfey Warlock in addition to either a Fighter, Rogue or Bard subclass, but I'm open to anything.)
   
2. This construct was made to serve a wealthy family, specifically their young daughter. She only knowing two things about her purpose when she first awoke: teach the young girl to dance, and love her like she was an older sister. Unfortunately, despite genuinely loving the little girl, years passed and she never was good enough to be loved and accepted by her. She only grew more distant and resentful over the years, only to one day snap and tell the construct "You can't replace her!!" As it turns out, the construct was made in an effort to take the place of the family's eldest daughter, who was both the best friend and dance instructor of her younger sister. The knowledge of all of this weighs on the construct's mind for some time, but that's nothing compared to the horror she experiences when the gods die, the weave is fractured, and the magic that makes her function breaks, causing her to short circuit and injure her charge. She brings her to the family healer and runs away before she can be thrown away, feeling like a failure and not knowing what to do with herself. That's when she gets the call to help bring the gods back. Before her is an opportunity to perhaps fix her malfunctioning problems. Or, maybe even better, perhaps she can ask the goddess of magic, be it Mystra or someone else by the end of it, to change her into a flesh and blood person so maybe her charge, her student, her "sister" can finally love her back. (I'm feeling like Bard could be one of her classes, but I don't know for sure. Also, can you tell I was inspired by Pinocchio for this one?)
   

That's all that's really necessary to read for the sake of this post! I'm gonna go ahead and include my final character that I'm thinking about because I just enjoy her, but I'm more concerned about the first two right now.
[Bonus: Nitala Opalseeker was always more feisty and brash than the average deep gnome, and her family knew that she would get into trouble rather easily if they didn't encourage her to keep out of business that wasn't hers. They did what they could to curb her natural roguish tendencies and encourage her to be a Bard or maybe even a Cleric like her father. None of this becomes relevant until the day they decide to leave the Underdark, mostly due to drow oppression, but also partly due to Nita's mild allergy to mushrooms (which she still occasionally eats anyway). During the trip, a few deep gnomes are caught and kidnapped by drow and duergar slavers, including Nita's father. Once on the surface, the deep gnome refugee group takes a ship to get to another gnome settlement, but a storm wrecks the ship, leaving very few of the deep gnomes alive. Among those are Nita's mother, another deep gnome she views as an older brother, and Nita herself, all thanks to a kraken with a beef with the ocean goddess and a draw to the fire and spite in this deep gnome's heart, telling her telepathically that she'd "owe her a favor when the right time comes" before saving her. That experience alone curbed Nitala's rebellious spirit for a while, and she actually spent time trying to be a Bard in an effort to make her mother happy after everything they went through. That only lasted for a little while before she decided to study magic as in depth as she could, both because she didn't want uppity scholarly mages claiming she didn't know what she was talking about when it came to magic and because it kept her awake so nightmares featuring the ship wreck and the kraken didn't plague her sleep. That eventually wasn't even enough to satisfy her, though, and she finally decided to follow her brother figure out of town one night without telling her mother where she was going. Fast forward to now where she's had her own adventures with her "brother", but now, the gods have died, and her patron as called in her favor. Nita is to find Umberlee's godly power and bring it to the kraken, but Nita, who really doesn't like her patron very much, plans to take the petty route and claim godhood for herself just for the sole purpose of taking her patron's dream away from her. (I know she'd be a Fathomless Warlock and some kind of Bard, obviously. Just need to choose a Bard subclass.)]

Okay, so at the beginning of this year I was in the process of leaving a bad living situation, and my son went to stay with my father-in-law for what was supposed to be a week. I remained in contact and whenever I would express that I was ready to come get my son, he would delay because of (xyz - they had plans for the weekend, my son wasn't feeling well, etc.). Then he asked me if I would send him nudes, said his wife wouldn't find out, just a naked Skype call or few pictures to "make him feel like a man again". I wasn't okay with the idea, and was extremely distressed by the situation, but I sent him a faceless nude anyway because I was worried father in law would stop talking to me if I didnt.. he never said that explicitly but a mother worries... A month passed by and I was very anxious to see my son. Father-in-law wouldn't let me talk on the phone with my son, and I was beyond frustrated with his attempts to get more nudes from me. I finally convinced father in law to let me take my son for a night at my new place, and I never took him back.
Can I possibly sue my father in law? Is it illegal to threaten to tell his wife? What the hell do I do with all of these screenshots?!?

Hi, y’all! I am taking my (almost) 8 year old daughter on a trip for her birthday. Among other things, we’re going to a zoo, aquarium, butterfly pavilion/insectarium, and on a hike. We have a 3 year old coming on the trip as well. I was hoping someone had resources they could point me to for lessons built around any of those activities, or any ideas/suggestions. Both girls absolutely love learning and are very visual learners. I would appreciate it a ton!

Recently my sister (F32) confessed something to me and I haven't been able to sleep properly ever since.
We live in a small town. Four years ago, she had unprotected sex with some guy, let's call him Mike. I believe he was only 18 or 19 at the time. Her and Mike were a one night stand, and she took the Plan B pill after being with him.
A few weeks passed, and she met this other guy, let's call him Kevin (M30). They also had unprotected sex, but this time she wasn't really into it, or into him for that matter. They hooked up a few times, but she "got the ick" after some time and they cut ties. But she didn't take any medication then, because they were drunk and she couldn't remember the act properly.
Some time passed by, and she found out about her pregnancy. She was devastated and went through a really hard time to come to terms with it. She told me she and her best friend made "calculations" to figure out who the father was. Keep in mind she's always been extremely independent and was willing to go through it all alone, and take care of the child on her own.
She was 100% sure Kevin was the father, because in her timeline, it was the only thing that made sense. About 4 months into her pregnancy (where she didn't get physically sick at the thought of him) she told him about it, as it was the right thing to do, and he was willing to be a present father. They started to have a friendly relationship.
The baby was born, let's call him Luke. For the first year of his life, she lived with me and my mom, I'm the youngest of the family so I still lived with mom at the time. We helped her take care of Luke, and Kevin wasn't really present. However, he was becoming more and more involved in our family, and they started dating again. My sister moved out, and went to live with him and Luke in his house.
They became a happy family and I can see my sister really loves him, despite everything and all the issues she had with him at the beginning. However, as I said, we live in a small town. A year ago at my brother's wedding, a "friend" came by and showed him a picture of a baby boy. She said that baby was Mike at the age of 3, and he looked exactly like my sister's toddler, Luke. My brother was drunk and showed that picture to my sister. She said her night was ruined after that.
Yesterday, she told me all about this. That up until now, she spent the entire year having second thoughts, that she was having panic attacks and was essentially hiding this from everyone. That she has thought about taking her own life many times, because of this huge mistake she made. That she loves Kevin now, and can't fathom the idea that he is not the father of Luke. He is a very good father to him. She said that up until that wedding night, she forgot entirely about the existence of Mike. And now it's the only thing she can think about.
And after a year of thinking about it, she has finally revealed that to Kevin and said that if he wants, he can ask for the DNA test. I was shocked to hear this, and even more shocked to see the picture of young Mike. He looks exactly like my nephew, and everything I believed in was shattered at that moment. I don't really know what to do, or how to give her advice. Kevin and her are both uncertain, and Kevin is such a nice guy, he really doesn't deserve this. He hasn't spoken to her at all since they had the talk.
I know this is something huge, and I am biased because she fucked up, but she is my sister. That's why I came to ask for general advice on how best to talk to her during this time. Because she has been very sensitive and is really depressed. And I know for a fact she wouldn't have been with Kevin at all if he wasn't Luke's father, because she wasn't in love with him at first, she only did it because it was the "right thing". hi! im pretty new to enneagram and so far i think i might be a 9w8. i filled out the questions in the intro. im hoping to get some help or closure on typing myself. im sorry for the long text in advance lol.
• How old are you? What's your gender? Give us a general description of yourself. Im 15 and a girl, ive doubted my gender few times though i dont really "feel" like a girl or anything and i like it when people mistake me for a man, i mostly identify as i girl cause its the easiest for me. im a pretty average student. i used to be "gifted" or something like that but now im just average (im ok with that). i have a few friends and thats pretty much it.
• Is there a medical diagnosis that may impact your mental stability somehow? no i did visit a psychologist a few times. i stopped because it didnt really help me and i saw no point in it.
• Describe your upbringing. Did it have any kind of religious or structured influence? How did you respond to it? My biological father was mostly absent from my early childhood (since i was 3) and doesnt live with me. pretty soon my mom got a boyfriend and they got married so ive had a step dad since i was 3. im not very close to either of my parents. we dont really show affection much to each other and so on. both of my parents are atheist and my grandparents on my moms side are also atheist. my grandma is a jehovas witness and used to bring me to "church" with her when i was little. i was always very curious about it and i used to think a lot about whether or not god was real and if i should convert. i always came to the conclusion thats hes not real and im atheist. i vividly remember that when i was little my grandpa asked me if he should be christian or not and i asked him if he had time to go to church to which he replied no so i came to the conclusion that he should be atheist too.
• If you had to spend an entire weekend by yourself, how would you feel? Would you feel lonely or refreshed? if i could send my friends videos and texts sometimes then yes. i dont really mind being alone and i can take care of myself. i can entertain myself on my own. i wouldnt feel lonely or refreshed really since being alone is sort of the norm for me. i spend most of my free time in my room alone.
• What kinds of activities do you prefer? Do you like, and are you good at sports? Do you enjoy any other outdoor or indoor activities? i like crafty activities like knitting, crochet, sewing and embroidery. i also like reading, learning about stuff im interested in. this can be pretty much anything, music, film, fashion, philosophy, religion and so on. im not really good at sports. i can still enjoy them though if its with friends and its not too serious or competitive. im not a very competitive person and i dont like the pressure people can create in team sports. i enjoy cycling because its more individual and i can go at my own pace, i dont have to rely on anyone and no one has to rely on me.
• How curious are you? Do you have more ideas then you can execute? What are your curiosities about? What are your ideas about - is it environmental or conceptual, and can you please elaborate? im curious but i usually dont ask people many questions, i can satisfy myself with the answer they give. especially if its something personal, if they dont want to answer or are vague theres probably a reason and i dont want to bother them and make them uncomfortable. i have a lot of things i want to do, such as getting better at playing guitar reading and so on. i usually dont really act on this. not for any particular reason i just cant bring myself to do it. im mainly curious about thing like art and fashion history, philosophy and theology, i also find drugs and their side effects and such interesting. i dont really have many ideas. if they are they are usually conceptual such as songs and paintings.
• Would you enjoy taking on a leadership position? Do you think you would be good at it? What would your leadership style be? i dont really like leadership. i cant imagine myself doing it long term, i wouldnt be able to put up with people that long. i dont like when people complain or ask many follow up questions so that would drive me crazy. although if theres a project or something and no one else wants to lead im willing to do it since stuff still needs to get done. if i was a leader my leadership style would probably be pretty permissive, as long as stuff gets done im okay with pretty much anything.
• Are you coordinated? Why do you feel as if you are or are not? Do you enjoy working with your hands in some form? Describe your activity? id like to think in somewhat coordinated. although i can be clumsy at times. i like working with my hands. i play guitar and i like to knit and crochet.
• Are you artistic? If yes, describe your art? If you are not particular artistic but can appreciate art please likewise describe what forums of art you enjoy. Please explain your answer. I like music a lot, i listen to it a lot and it means a lot to me. ive always found comfort in it. when i was younger i really liked melanie martinez and it was basically all i listened to. now i listen to and im open to many different genres. my favourite genre is probably emo and rock though. i also play guitar and enjoy it a lot. sometimes i write lyrics to song too. i used to draw since i was 6 but when i was 13 i stopped because i started comparing myself too much and it didnt make me happy anymore.
• What's your opinion about the past, present, and future? How do you deal with them? i dont really care much about the past. whats done is done and i cant do anything to change it. its a waste of time to dwell on it too much. of course it is good to reflect and think about your actions once in a while. i dont really care much about the future either. well not mine specifically. i dont have a specific plan or goal for myself. im just gonna see what life brings me mostly. although i do think it is important to think about the future as a society in terms of climate change and similar issues. i care the most about the present since its what i have the most direct impact on. as cheesy as it might sound i sort of just "live in the moment".
• How do you act when others request your help to do something (anything)? If you would decide to help them, why would you do so? depends on if i can do it and if i like the person. if its something like giving them a napkin or something else thats simple then sure why not. if its something like explaining i usually say no because im not really good at explaining and i often dont understand things myself. if i would help someone its usually because i dont have a reason not to. i think its better to be nice if tou can even you don't necessarily like the person cause you can avoid unnecessary conflict that way.
• Do you need logical consistency in your life? not really. i dont care for things being logical and i dont think everything needs a reasoning or to be logical.
• How important is efficiency and productivity to you?im not really efficient or productive myself, so i guess not really. of course if something is urgent ill do it as fast as i can. but otherwise i think there are more important things than that. i think the actual of process of doing something can be enjoyable not just what comes out of it.
• Do you control others, even if indirectly? How and why do you do that? i dont if i control others, im not aware of it at least. i dont think i have that big of an influence on someone else.
• What are your hobbies? Why do you like them? I like to play guitar because i like music and the feeling of being to engage with it more deeply. i also like to sing. i like reading because i think there are many interesting stories to tell.
• What is your learning style? What kind of learning environments do you struggle with most? Why do you like/struggle with these learning styles? Do you prefer classes involving memorization, logic, creativity, or your physical senses? my learning style is mainly verbal. i like to write things down and say then out loud. i usually explain things to myself or i pretend im presenting or explaining what im learning to someone else. i sometimes have trouble with things involving a lot of math and sometimes even logical thinking. i often times cant grasp these concepts cause i cant imagine it in my head. i struggle with learning environments that have a lot of distractions. but i cant focus if its completely quiet i like to play some kind of background noise such as white or brown noise. i like classes involving creativity the most since i can just do anything i want. i dont have trouble with coming up with new things and creative things to do.
• How good are you at strategizing? Do you easily break up projects into manageable tasks? Or do you have a tendency to wing projects and improvise as you go? I usually put off things till the last minute so i dont really have time to strategize most of the time. i just do and think of things as i go. usually this works for me and it doesn't stress me out. i do tend to make plans to be "productive" and break up my work into smaller parts this doesnt really work out for me most of the time though.
• What are your aspirations in life, professionally and personally? i dont have many aspirations or goals. just standard things like to get into college and stuff i dont really know what i want to do yet. im leaving it up for myself in the future to decide what i should do that will fulfill me. my main goal is just to be happy with myself and where i am in life, nothing really specific.
• What are your fears? What makes you uncomfortable? What do you hate? Why? my fear is being completely alone for the rest of my life. and not being happy with myself. although i dont really seek out people and their presence i still like affection and fitting in. i really value my friends and i want to have them along my side. i want to accept myself and who i am. i want to be a version of myself that i like. physical touch makes me uncomfortable, and also verbal affection such as compliments too. i often dont know how to respond. when people hug me i often just stand there and if someone touches me i often immediately try to get away. i dont know how to respond to compliments and verbal affection well, partially because i dont really believe it. i hate dishonest people who cant be themselves and try to be someone else to please others. its very sad for me to watch and i just dont like it in general, it can also get annoying.
• What do the "highs" in your life look like? to be honest i dont think ive ever had a "high". most of the time i just feel mostly neutral. the only "high" i have when im laughing with friends or something.
• What do the "lows" in your life look like? i usually lay in bed all day and dont do anything. i cant even bring myself to shower, eat or brush my teeth. if i eat its usually just plain bread or something that requires no effort. i do have some phases where i cry very often, almost every day. i try to hide either usually and cry when im alone but sometimes its too much and i just cry in front of people. when they ask me if im ok i say yes and i try to deny anything being wrong.
• How attached are you to reality? Do you daydream often, or do you pay attention to what's around you? If you do daydream, are you aware of your surroundings while you do so? i daydream very often. almost every day. if im bored and have nothing to do (i dont have my phone) ill daydream. im aware of my surroundings to some extent. usually im also listening to music while doing this. when i daydream i tend to walk around my room in back and forth. even when im reading a book, watching a film or a tv show i often envisipn myself there and stop watching/reading to imagine myself there and insert myself into the story.
• Imagine you are alone in a blank, empty room. There is nothing for you to do and no one to talk to. What do you think about? i would probably sing to myself and daydream. i dont think i would think about many things to be honest.
• How long do you take to make an important decision? And do you change your mind once you've made it? i havent made many important decisions, but i usually take some time to think it through. i might change my mind afterwards but not do anything about since i already decides and dont want to complicate things. i would probably tell myself its meant to be that way.
• How long do you take to process your emotions? How important are emotions in your life? i usually dont really let my emotions out unless its happiness. emotions are quite important to me. i often base my decisions around them. because i want to be comfortable.
• Do you ever catch yourself agreeing with others just to appease them and keep the conversation going? How often? Why? usually if i disagree i just dont say anything. i dont agree or disagree. if i dont agree and dpnt want to talk to that person then ill just try to politely exit the conversation. i dont feel the need to please others with what i have to say. people have different opinions and thats ok. if im talking about something friends and i disagree im not afraid to say it though. i do try to be polite about it though to avoid conflict.
• Do you break rules often? Do you think authority should be challenged, or that they know better? If you do break rules, why? I dont really break rules. i dont feel the need to. at least i dont do it deliberately. i think authorities should be challenged if theyre unfair and oppressive. if i break rules its because ultimately i can do anything i want. i try to be smart about it and not get in trouble though. if breaking the rules would hurt someone i wouldnt do it.

TD;DR Newer relationship. Military boyfriend with a pattern of having a dog shit attitude but doesn't think he has a bad attitude. It's become exhausting trying to comfort him and calm him down when he doesn't want to help himself. Gets defensive when I try to shut down his shit talking spiral of negativity. I don't want to be the overly critical nagging girlfriend, so I want to leave while I still don't resent him. He's away for school and I want to wait until he gets back in a couple weeks. We've already talked about this issue a bunch. How to stay kind and compassionate while I wait for him to get back.
I've been with my boyfriend for only 7 months. Overall, it's pretty decent. We treat each other well, laugh a lot, have similar views on children and marriage, he's supportive, the sex is satisfying, and have had some pretty fun times together. It's been pretty drama free. He's active duty military. I am a veteran but have gone on to get my pilots license, work in aviation for a couple years, and now I'm a full time student studying software engineering. With the help of long term therapy, hobbies, and good friends, I would say I'm pretty happy in life right now. In the past though, I've suffered from not being able to regulate my emotions and having severe episodes of depression. Unfortunately, my boyfriend is not very happy in life. I try very hard to be validating, supportive, loving, and try to model healthy coping mechanisms but it's wearing on me. He has no friends. No hobbies. He hates his job. He talks poorly about other people. Everyone suck except for him. Everyone is a pussy except for him. Everything is stupid. The negativity spiral is a constant presence. And I don't like speaking poorly about other people how he does. I've gently encouraged seeking professional help because he has admitted that he might be depressed because his reactions to thing are disproportionate to whatever is triggering him. He has access to both medical and non medical mental health care. I'm exhausted from constantly validating him and trying to calm him down from the far reaching things he will start saying. He's very sensitive to criticism and gets defensive easily. I have to be very gentle with how I phrase things and avoid accusatory statements. It's really the only issue I have with him.
I did a lot of thinking and talk with my therapist and have decided that the negativity is a deal breaker for me. This negativity is exclusively work related. He doesn't treat me poorly, but I am baring the burden of his loneliness by myself. We live close to each other but He's away for a school right now.
First, I communicated that the negativity has become a constant presence, it dominates our conversations, and it's affecting my mood. I suggested that we try to find some balance together. He was cool about it.
A few days later, after he started talking poorly about other people, I set a boundary. I said that I would shut down the conversation once the it reached a certain intensity of negativity or once he started talking needlessly ill about other people. I said that if this seems like it's going to be a recurring thing, I'm going to have to assess if the relationship is healthy for me. He was cool about it.
Next, he talks about how he may have to a take a couple college classes (paid for by the military) to reach a certain goal he has. and then starts saying, "I HATE SCHOOL I HATE SCHOOL I HATE SCHOOL. IM NEVER GOING TO USE COLLEGE ALGEBRA". I said that if he goes into classes with that idea it will become a self-fulfilling prophecy. We do stuff we don't want to do to reach the goal we want. I said that he is capable, and even though general education courses aren't the most fun, it's still an opportunity to learn and develop new skills. He got defensive and said that I don't need to lecture him and that he doesn't have a shit attitude just because he said "college algebra isn't useful". The selective hearing is a recurring issue.
There's been a couple other times where he was able to self correct or apologized for getting upset with me when I would ask to change the subject. Most recently, he started calling a group of people cowards and that they shouldn't be in the Army. I tried to shut down the conversation twice but he kept going. I ended up playing into it more and shared my opinion and said that what he is saying is hypocritical because he may also be a part of the group hes talking about. He didn't see what he said as talking shit about other people. I said, "You can have that opinion. Im asking you to not voice it to me anymore". He got very defensive, saying that he isn't allowed to say anything with out having the opposite opinion. That we must disagree on everything.
I explained that I actually do agree with him a lot of the time, I just don't let the shit talking spiral out od control. He went to bed without FaceTiming me that night or saying goodnight. He did say good morning to me today.
I don't want to see myself turn into the overly critical, nagging girlfriend. I realize I am trying to change him. I am trying to fix him and that's not my job. I thought If I modeled better behavior and helped me breathe and relax when he got worked up, I could love him into being a more positive person. I can't. It's exhausting. I may just have to accept that we have different outlooks on the world. As much as I love him, this completely overwhelms his positive qualities. I can't see myself problem solving or raising children with this type of person (he already has one daughter that hes missed out on raising because of the military. He's basically just a fun uncle even though he tries to go home often to see her several time a year.) Sadly, he has no one else except me here and often tells me that he loves spending time with me and I make him so happy.
How can I practice being kind and compassionate towards him while still protecting my own mental well being while I wait for him to get back so I can end the relationship? I don't think he would be responsive to me saying that im thinking of ending the relationship.

Many apes are asking if DFV is going to start live streaming again because of the Fight Club speech.
I don’t think he will, and here’s why. Our image of the Kitty/DFV right now is exactly what we needed and he knows that. That’s what he’s trying to convey. I think giving us more insight to Keith and his thoughts and theories take away from the power of the mysteriousness. Roaring Kitty (his YouTube stream) was the perfect set up to become DFV.
What I want to do is think about this from his perspective. Forget the fact that he’s a time traveling god (true). Forget that he knows what’s going on (also obviously true) and just think about the ride he’s been on. It’s a classic coming of age story for a hero.
Keith Gill was once just a young husband and dad, trading stocks by day, live streaming by night to his four followers. It was life as an every day man in Boston. He was Roaring Kitty. He was incredibly kind, intelligent, and positive. An absolute gem of a human. He was what any of us could have considered to be a good person and friend. He was also wicked smart and most importantly, right.
But then, like many classic heroes (Luke Skywalker, Katniss Everdeen, Frodo Baggins, Harry Potter) he accidentally found himself centered in this midst of chaos caused by other forces (hedge funds) at a time with lots of unrest (COVID/Politics/Wagrowing income inequality). He did something that the masses saw as bigger than he meant.
The people took Roaring Kitty and we turned him into DFV, this larger than life, always had the answer, could save us type of archetype hero.
Imagine you were in his shoes. Husband, father to a young child, newly a huge millionaire, but the face of a revolution, which you don’t ask for. Movies being made about you, people setting up camp in front of your house, everyone knows who you are. You were just trading stocks.
Now, in Feb 2021, you have a choice. You have become rich and the power holders are after you. You see all the DD about how rigged the game is and how the rich continue to get richer - do you ride off into the sunset and leave the regular apes that you now know are getting screwed, or do you do something about it?
I think with several of these tweets, he’s been basically saying “I chose to stay”. Specifically, with the Fight Club tweet, Edward Norton’s character is going around town and average people are saying that they inspired him, just like what almost certainly had happened with Roaring Kitty. He’s the perfect example of what we want our heroes to be, and we took Roaring Kitty and turned him into DFV.
And now he’s accepting that. He sees what’s going on, he understands he has the power to change things, he’s willing to put himself at great personal risk to stand with us.
Honestly, when we win, I hope this is the story that’s told and that people understand. Keith didn’t ask for this, we asked for DFV. The masses need a leader, and after 3 years, he’s now saying “look, I’m not doing any of this shit, but I understand why I matter to you. I am here, and answering the call the way I know best. Memes and hype”.
Kitty isn’t a god, he isn’t a time traveler, he isn’t omnipotent, but he is a normal person that has stepped up and that’s why we should admire him. He probably has the same fear that any of us would have, more so than we would have, but he’s telling us he’s with us anyway. I do think He’s very smart and has most importantly, put in the work. I do think he has more info than we do. But honestly, it’s better for us if we don’t get to be part of his brainstorming. He’s gonna get things wrong, and it’s better for us if we don’t see that. The image of DFV is more important than the thoughts of roaring Kitty (at the moment).
One of my favorite moments in a story to illustrate the idea of a reluctant hero, forced into action for the good of the people is when Frodo says to Gandalf “I wish the Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.”
And Gandalf responds: “So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”
And Keith has decided to be DFV, the ring bearer, the mocking jay, the chosen one, the one who brings balance to the force. I see you and thank you , Keith, Kitty, DFV.

My husband has recently revived his interest in collecting MLB cards. I know nothing at all about this. I’m probably even saying the wrong thing to be honest. My daughter and I would love to help him add to his collection for Father’s Day. Where should we start looking and what should we buy? I mean I know I’m not looking to invest in a single card or anything but all advice would be appreciated.
