2024.05.14 19:07 LopsidedAd7950 Removal despite normal tests

I’m honestly really afraid. I’ve been dealing with all the textbook symptoms of chronic gallbladder dyskinesia for 3.5 years now. I can’t eat anything besides chicken breast and white rice and some cooked kale (and tons of honey) without feeling horribly sick and vomiting. My food sensitive isn’t use to be this bad, but I’m backed into a corner with them. I’ve tried so many different methods of treatment and nothing is working. I have extensive family history of gallbladder issues (all on my maternal side). I really can’t continue my way of life as it currently is, but I’m afraid that I’m making a mistake by pursuing removal when there is no clear proof that I’m dealing with gallbladder issues. My EF was 76.5%. I realize some people consider this abnormal, but it’s not clear-cut enough to give me any confidence. Still, I’m not sure what else to do. I feel like it needs to come out but I would be so devastated if things went wrong or I ended up feeling worse after the fact.
I’m scheduled to meet with specialists and surgeons next month to discuss removal. If anyone has any advice about what I should ask about, I would be very grateful. If anyone has any experience with completely normal tests but really debilitating symptoms who opted for removal as a last resort and had success - I would love to hear about your experience. My older brother recently got married and my grandfather on my mother's side, who has a long history of heart disease, visited from overseas on a 6-month visa. My mother, for some reason, decided not to buy him health insurance.
My father has repeatedly told him to take it easy and just rest, but he refuses to and we've caught him working in the garden. Last night, he started experiencing bad chest pain and congestion, and started having a really bad coughing fit that lasted through the night. He takes medication for his heart disease and it usually helps him, but this time it did nothing and he continued experiencing symptoms.
My parents are stuck on what to do at this point. They're taking him to the hospital today because they don't want to risk anything else, but we would have to pay completely out of pocket. If a procedure is required, we will probably have to pay millions of dollars out of pocket which would guarantee bankruptcy. My father told me it's too late to get him insurance now, because insurance companies usually have policies that prevent last-minute coverage like this.
Is there anything we can do to avoid paying a huge amount of money out of pocket??

2024.05.14 19:02 PoZe7 First night with APAP therapy

Hello everyone, I was diagnosed 3-4 months ago with obstructive sleep apnea. AHI of 25.9 on my back, 10 on my left side and 12.7 on my right side. My symptoms is sleeping 8-10 hours and still feeling tired. Getting hot flashes when I am closer to being tired again. High blood pressure that fluctuates a lot depending on how much sleep I got. I also got anxiety now ever since my apnea go more noticable. I generally do not wake up during night, but I do sometimes wake up an hour after trying to go to bed with some small panic attack or palpations. I also get now more easily stressed out then I used to and it's harder to control whereas say year ago it was fine.
I am 5'10 and 185 pounds, which technically makes me overweight for my BMI. But I know this is not major part of my apnea though as I always had hard time sleeping for < 8-9 hours even as a kid and I was very very skinny with bones showing as a teenager.
Anyway, this post is mainly to celebrate the that I finally was able to start the APAP treatment, got ResMed 11 autoset machine with N20 nasal mask. First night it's working fine, the mask doesn't seem to bother me. I mentally prepared myself to commit to dealing with any issues and potentially have to tweak things and equipment before I will get the right thing for me. So this first night I slept for 4:30 hours with mask on without any leaks. My AHI was 3.9 during it, my settings are the default auto stuff with starting pressure of 5 and ramping up automatically. When I woke up and took off the mask pressure was at 10. I am not sure, I woke up after 4:30 hours and couldn't fall asleep right away (before I kinda woke up couple of times but dozed back. I am usually heavy sleeper and doze off quickly). I took the mask off and tried to lay there for a bit to just take a quick break from it. But I accidentally fell asleep and slept for another 4 hours lol. I assume sleeping that other 4 hours without mask probably undid all the good the other 4:30 with mask did.
But anyway, according to my Samsung smart watch the mask experience helped me a lot. I had almost an hour of deep sleep while wearing it, my oxygen did not dip below 90%. Usually it dips to 87%. I also didn't snore at all as well (my watch records snoring, usually I snore 2-4 hours a night of total snore time). I was worried that I would open mouth at night and this nasal mask won't work and will need a full one. But seems like I don't open mouth if my airways won't get blocked.
My understanding is that it's common for people to not sleep full night with masks on at the beginning of the treatment and 4 hours is a good starting point? I am of course going to try and wear it as much as I can, I accidentally fell asleep without it. I meant to take a break and put it back on

Basically I'm supposed to start tmr but I'm scared asf because all the side effects I saw on Google would ruin my life for various reasons that are too much to elaborate.
But I wanna know if the side effects are bad on 10mg and if I can stop immediately if I don't like it or will there be withdrawal symptoms or whatever? How quick does it work? Does it really make you emotionally numb? Because if I get my favorite food and watch my favorite show I can easily have a good couple of hours. And I like crying to sad tv shows and stuff like that. Idk, I feel like it might just make me feel worse. Worst would be weight gain as well. I wasn't talked to about any side effects by my psychologist, he just have me a prescription after talking twice. I know I'm depressed but I'm doubting if it's bad enough for me to do this.

started taking birth control a month ago, since then my side effects are horrible. im having cramps, lower back pain, extreme emotions, today im mid pack and I feel like im ovulating even tho you cant on bc?? i had some light spotting also today, nothing bad. im terrified because recently i went through an abortion (which i wanted) but i think i developed some trauma and now thinking that im pregnant again because of the symptoms + i have severe health anxiety so this doesn’t help at all, can you please tell me that starting birth control can have these side effects and its not something else? im losing my mind xD THANKU

2024.05.14 18:40 thepurlshq Cisplatin & Radiation Treatment (My Experience)

Update post on my progress and protocols for my treatment with side effects and how I managed it all.
Now that I'm done with treatment, I hope that this can help others who may be starting the same journey and have questions. I attribute my easy time to the premeds and my mental willpower. I focus on the positives and silver linings over the negatives. You can only control one thing -- your reactions. The rest requires you to practice acceptance.
Diagnosis: Stage 2 Endocervical Adenocarcinoma Gastric Type with LVSI
Treatment Plan: Surgery (cervix, uterus, and ovaries) followed by concurrent Chemo with Radiation with a PET Scan scheduled 2 months after treatment to determine if NED or more treatment is required.
I was scheduled for 6 chemo cycles, once a week, and 28 radiation beam therapies. Chemo happened on Monday and Radiation was Monday through Friday. I had to skip Cycle 3 on Chemo only because I was hospitalized with Norovirus and my counts were too low. I still did radiation those days.
Chemo Protocol in order of meds:

Magnesium Sulfate + Potassium Chloride. Cisplatin strips this from your body, supplements.
Emend (Fosaprepitant) - antiemetic. I had to get a port for this, it burned my arm vein and I had to use other arm for Chemo, no fun.
Aloxi (Palonosetron) - antiemetic.
Decadron (Dexamethasone) - steroid. It burns in your nether region, if it burns too much, ask them to push it slower.
Lasix (Furosemide) - diuretic. Cisplatin is hard on kidneys, this is to help purge the chemo faster. Be close to a bathroom and ask nurse if you can just unplug your IV pole and go to bathroom freely vs. pushing call button -- its easier.
Cisplatin (Platinol) 70mg (my dose). Didn't make me feel any different than the other infusions.

Plan for at least 5 hours for the above. I started at 7:30am and ended between 12 and 12:30pm.
Cisplatin Symptoms: This is going to vary person to person and you may get different premeds than me.

Mon (Day 1) - just the cold feeling in your veins from all the fluid infusions. You also gain like 5lbs of water weight that day. I was typically ravenous and ate whatever I wanted, the antiemetics made this possible. Be wary of constipation from chemo, it took me by surprise the first week. The other weeks I ate a few prunes on Sunday and then after chemo on Monday to help. Otherwise you won't poop for a week and be miserable.
Tues (Day 2) - no appetite and I don't eat. Even marijuana does not work to stimulate. I'll force myself if DH forces me, but since I eat everything in sight Day 1 I'm not too hard on myself. Important to have first BM this day, if nothing then you need to start addressing. Of course I BM daily so this may not apply to you.
Wed - Thu (Day 3 - 4) - acid reflux and indigestion. Keep some Tums handy or use pills, it doesn't really help and you get used to it. All in, better than throwing up, so take it as a win if this is the worst for you. Appetite back.
Fri - Sun (Day 5 -7) - less side effects, should be at normal BMs, if you are not you need to address for next cycle. Very important to purge your bowels if you are constipated before your next chemo. I ended up doing Miralax my first week, I had zero BM before Sat and I could feel the pressure. The following weeks I just did a handful of prunes Sunday night after dinner and Monday when I got home from chemo. I happen to like prunes and they worked to keep me regular.

Pelvic Radiation Symptoms: This is going to be different based on what areas are treated. My bladder, vagina, and pelvic nodes were heavily treated. Be sure you understand the side effects before you start treatment - so you can be on top of everything. Below is my experience and I had a fairly easy time of it.

The fatigue sets in slowly. By week 3/4 I needed 12 hours a night to sleep. Don't ignore this important rest. I adjusted my work schedule from day 1 -- from 7a to 1p Tue - Thu. I didn't work Mon due to Chemo and Fri I had to get labs done and radiation so I worked from 7a to 11am. I did this from day 1 to set the tone with my boss and ensure I had the time needed to rest even if I didn't need it. I ended up working Sat and sometimes Sun to make up for things. I am a WFH executive - right hand of CEO and in charge of operations. Helps to have a great boss pick up the slack and an amazing team who supported me every step of the way.
Bowels get softer over time, they do not go from hard to diarrhea overnight. If you have diarrhea fast, don't ignore it or let your doctor's ignore. I thought it was the prunes week 2 that did it, no it was norovirus. They didn't catch it until I had a 102 fever week 3 and had to be hospitalized. The chemo constipation masked it during the week.
AZO is your BEST FRIEND. Take it every day. It is made to as a pain reliever for the bladder. I missed it for a week and paid for it so bad. Do not skip this important drug. I need to keep taking it for a few weeks until the symptoms subside.
When you go in for your initial telemetry setup for the machines, make sure you are comfortable before they start anything. The moment you lay down on the machine bed, you need to make sure you are in a good position. They used a mold on my legs and I was not in a good position so it really hurt my hips every session thereafter.
You have to put your hands on your chest. They give a ring, I hated it. I recommend relaxing your shoulders or you'll have a hard time while they do the treatment.
You get used to the flow. You walk into the treatment room, hop on a bed while two techs adjust you (I had x marks on both hips and belly that they lined up). Then you get a quick CT to ensure your bladder is full and you're in a good position. Adjustments are made as needed. You know when the radiation beam starts because it is the only thing with noise. Don't move until they say you can. Whole thing is 10 mins or less.
Bladder management is the worst part. You need to have a full bladder for this and as the treatment progresses you will have a harder time determining if your bladder is full or not. Your kidneys will also work slower (I attribute to the chemo) as the weeks go on, so you'll need to drink earlier. I recommend drinking what will fill your bladder two hours before your treatment. It is easier to let of some pressure than it is to fill the bladder. Tea is a natural diuretic and is very helpful to giving your kidneys a boost. I usually drank 20+ oz of Powerade two hours before (chugging), then tea when I arrived (they had fancy machines) and this worked 90% of the time.
Be wary of foods you eat. I did great until Week 4 when I had lots of stuff with red sauce and it caused gas. I had to pass this gas before they could do my treatment, it was a riot but you don't want your visits to be like that every day. Stay away from tomato products and anything else that gives you even mild gas outside of treatment. It is nearly impossible to pass gas with an overfull bladder.

Nurses are your best friend. Having cancer and going through treatment sucks, but the nurses are there for you and my experience was all-inclusive resort service. Take advantage of the snacks (yes they have ice cream) when you're getting chemo. Don't be shy about asking them about your meds, they did a good job explaining this to me, but I still had questions now and again. It takes a special person to be an oncology nurse and you feel it. It never felt fake or like they were putting on a show/smile just for me. They truly cared. I never want to see them again either way :)
Edited to add: get a port. You will not regret it. I plan on keeping mine for a year after NED, which will require a monthly flush. It makes things so much easier, especially if you have to be hospitalized. I didn't need the numbing cream, it hurts less than the arm pokes for labs and infusions. I asked for mine before chemo and doctor didn't think it was necessary. First treatment proved it was - I had three IV's that day and I'm still suffering from the Emend infusion (not the chemo surprisingly) on my arm. Yes, its surgery but its easy. I had it in place before my 2nd chemo and it was lifechanging. I'd keep it for life it wasn't for the monthly flushes lol, my arm veins were crap to start and the more they are poked the worse they get.

Background: My brother and I have a very strained relationship dating back to childhood and a traumatic upbringing. Our mom died back in 2015, she had 2 cats - I took the boy and he took the girl (my brother hated the boy). In 2/2023, I went on a cruise with his wife/my SIL and found out just how much of a toxic and abusive person he is. He’s also a functioning alcoholic/drug addict. Anyway, after a particularly loud fight they had in front of me, I lost my shit on him and told him he was a narcissist and undeserving of his wife and he needed therapy. He basically told me to F off and die. Her and I remain close and they are currently separated pending divorce. Him and I gradually started communicating again over the last year.
Situation: FF to 12/2023, he asked if I could take the cat for now since his lease was up and his new place didn’t allow pets. I was ok with that. When she came, she had a few masses and a very bad case of ear mites so I took her to the vet 1/2024. Breast cancer and at 12, she had never been to a vet and was never spayed (which caused her cancer, common in cats if not spayed). I told him, he told me to just put her down, but they told me they could remove the masses so I said I would rather try surgery. He said he wasn’t paying, I told him I would. A month later as they were preparing for surgery, it was noted she had progressed rapidly (more visible masses) and she was deemed terminal but luckily asymptomatic so I took her home on palliative care/hospice. During this entire time, he never came to visit, never brought food or litter, never offered money to care for her, nothing - not even a text. I didn’t consider her a burden though and I had 3 other cats. Last week she started showing symptoms and I told him it was time. I scheduled it for 5/10 and he said he’d be there. He texted me an hour before and told me he couldn’t make it, “sorry, just put her on ice and I’ll get her later”. So, I went. Alone. And I loved her very much despite only have her a short time, she followed me everywhere, slept with me or on me, and just made this place her home. My eldest helped me bury her in our garden. Yesterday, he lost his shit on me and said “it’s not your fcking cat, you fcked up, you’re unhinged, you can’t make the decisions, if you needed supplies then you should’ve asked, I wanted to bury her and you fcked that up…” it went on and on like that until I blocked him. My SIL said she could see both sides but several of my friends told me she became my cat when he showed numerous times he couldn’t be bothered with her. Now I’m feeling so guilty wondering if I should’ve just let him have her; however, I feel like he was fine with me doing the dirty work and now wants to be the martyr so I don’t know.

Hello! I was very incorrectly misdiagnosed with bipolar 1 a few years ago when it turned out to be autism and c-ptsd, and I'm in the process of starting to come off of my medications. Seroquel is the first one to go as the side effects I experience are terrifying and my insurance company has stopped covering it. I do not think that Seroquel is inherently bad or dangerous, it just isn't something that has ever helped me because I didn't need it in the first place.
I'm having to decrease my dosage with the pills I have left. I've been on Seroquel 150 mg for about six months now, and I'm four days into a lower dose of 100 mg. I'm going to do five more days of 100 mg, and then seven days of 50 mg, followed by seven days of 25 mg, and then if I'm struggling with withdrawals 25 mg every other day for a week, and then 25 mg every three days for a week. This is the schedule I was told to follow by my doctor.
I'm feeling alright so far, aside from my stomach being a mess. I'm worried that it's only a matter of time before withdrawal symptoms hit. I usually do pretty well with coming off of medications (in the past I've quickly tapered off of lithium, lamotrigine, and lexapro without any issues), but I know that this one is a really high-powered.
Most of the withdrawal stories I've read have left me feeling extremely nervous about this whole process, especially because I'm having to taper off of the medication a lot faster than I would like to. Really, the bad stories have left me more panicked than anything that's going on in my actual body. For the most part I'm just ready to get off of this medication that has been hell for me.
Does anyone have a withdrawal success story to share, or any sort of reassurance? Did things such as exercise, looking after gut health, etc. help? Thank you!

Hi all, just want to lead off by saying this forum has been extremely helpful and a huge resource to me in my decision so far!
I had 350cc silicone implants 10 years ago with a lift. One of the implants slid down into my abdominal cavity the next day, which was quickly revised with an outpatient procedure and sliding it back up with a whip stitch. Unfortunately, the left implant was just never quite the same after this and always gave me pain and discomfort. In 2019 it officially ruptured after contracture and I received a new one that year.
Recently, I have been experiencing the same symptoms as before the initial implant ruptured and the left has become extremely uncomfortable and hard. It looks fine to the eye but at this point I’ve just about had it and want them both gone (which is sad because the right has always been great and I’ve never had issues. I don’t even notice it’s there…)
I do like the way they make me look and feel which is the hardest thing to grapple with so far. I’m not scared of being flat-chested so much as I am saggy chested, as a lot of my breast tissue was removed (or so I think) during my first augmentation procedure which also happened with a lift. I’m not sure if I will need another lift or if they will have to remove the capsule but I do anticipate a full and very costly procedure as I also had massive weight loss so my skin is already quite saggy (had skin removal surgery on abdomen the same time as initial BA). I have a consultation with the same PS who did the original surgery next week.
Does anyone who has had an explant have any tips or recommendations for debating with the fear of being flat-chested or a deflated looking chest? That right now is my biggest draw back to getting the removal surgery as I want more than anything to stop feeling like this but I’m so scared I will end up with lil trash bags. Ultimately however I still think in the end that will be better than the constant discomfort and pain I feel on my left side when doing literally anything.

Hey all-
I did a quick search on this sub regarding BC as a form of treatment for PMDD and at a glance I don’t think I saw any posts regarding what I’m looking for..
For background I wasn’t diagnosed with PMDD until I got on birth control, before it was suggested I was bipolar.
I started birth control at 19 years old, I’m now 26 and I’ve tried basically all of them besides the depo and the copper IUD (I refuse to do either, they aren’t an option). I didn’t cycle through them because they didn’t help with my PMDD, it was more so side effects and convenience issues and I felt like they all helped with my PMDD for the most part. I have also tried some mental health meds (for the depression and supposed bipolar) prior to getting on birth control that didn’t really do anything for the “feelings” part of PMDD but upon research, some of them that I tried are used for treatment.
I’ve been on the Nuva Ring since I was about 21-22 and I love it so much, it’s been the only birth control to minimize almost all of my period related issues. Recently I’ve noticed that my symptoms relating to PMDD are becoming more noticeable/prevalent and I’m almost panicking about it (I also have a separate diagnosis that is just labeled “panic disorder” yay). I moved states so I have a new doctor, when we went over my history originally I did mention my PMDD and while she wasn’t dismissive we didn’t spend any time talking about it like the rest of my medical history. At that time I wasn’t really needing any additional supports for it.
My question is: for those who have had success using birth control as a treatment, do any of you take two forms of birth control? Is the reason you’re on two types related to your PMDD? Has anyone had something that worked for them for years, just stop working?
My untreated PMDD was very hard to navigate at full force and it honestly derailed my whole life. Granted I was a teenager and was still developing coping skills and things like that but I don’t want to go through those feelings again, I’m currently not a danger to myself but prior to finding birth control, I was. A lot of my personal relationships were very rocky too. I’ve just noticed a pattern my last few cycles and I need to get a handle on it. I was thinking of asking my doctor to add another form of birth control since it originally changed my life drastically for the better.
When googling things, all I found were articles that all seem to say the same things and nothing more, just statistics and generic treatment plans, I don’t know anyone who even knows what PMDD is (let alone seemingly has it) outside of my old doctor.
Advice is welcomed.

To preface, I am 20M, 1.8m and 83kg. No significant existing conditions, currently taking prochlorperazine between 15 to 25mg a day. UK student but live in Romania.
Primary complaint: Nausea and fatigue for a month. Right under ribs abdominal pain for a week. General GI issues (diarrhoea, bloating, gas etc.). Face feels very hot - temperature on the higher end of normal (gets up to 37.5 C in the afternoon).
Hi everyone, please read if you can, worrying myself sick and would love someone to tell me I'm not going insane.
4 weeks ago I had orchiepididymitis which was treated with 5 days of Gentamicin IM and 7 days of levofloxacin (Romanian medical system... my GP did not believe me that they gave me such strong stuff). Since the day I went to the ER and started treatment for this, I haven't felt normal.
During the week I ended up in the ER again with what turned out to be a panic attack. I spent the whole week with horrendous anxiety, depression, paranoia and generally felt horrible (GI issues including yellow/pale stool, nausea, and this horrid 'hot' feeling), among other things which I cannot really remember since I was so out of it. My family doctor said (helpfully enough, after the fact) that I was having some pretty serious side effects from the medication but that they should go away.
Well, I'm posting here because they haven't. After the week of treatment I was given another 24 days of antibiotic but I only took one of the courses given because I felt so awful while on the first one (Cefixime). Nauseous all day, really bad tiredness that wouldn't go away even with proper sleep (although I could not sleep through the night properly). My GP have me the prochlorperazine to curb this, worked for a while while on the Cefixime, stopped it 3-4 days before finishing the antibiotics but it came back with a vengeance this week.
Now I am 1 week+ off that antibiotic and I still feel awful. The hot feeling is back but feels worse than it did in that first week, I've been having diarrhoea (possibly related to new magnesium supplements) but the most worrying symptoms are definitely the nausea and fatigue which are not going away, even though my sleep has been great.
I'm so tired of feeling like this, if anyone has any idea what's going on please help! I've worried myself sick googling and my GP is unconcerned but ordered blood tests to be cautious (next Monday).
Is it possible that the symptoms are unrelated to the antibiotics? Obviously, everything online tells me I have cancer so I can't figure out what it could actually be.
I should add - my blood tests from a week before the infection were (almost) perfect, apart from a barely low neutrophil count (1.97, limit 2), slightly high cholesterol and low vit. D which I have since taken supplements for. During that week I had two CBC, one when I went to the ER with the infection which showed high WBC, protein C etc. indicating infection, and the latter CBC showed perfect values (everything in optimal range).

My Egrandmother (who I love) suffered a stroke last year. My Nmom is her caretaker because they live in the same house. Last time I went there she played the part of an over stressed caretaker (who still claimed my grandmother abused her even though she literally had a fucking stroke). However I recently got a call from my grandmother that made me very concerned. Turns out her memory has gotten worse, and no one told me. Well my mom did, but with a laugh and with glee. I was on the phone with her for fifteen minutes and she was LAUGHING about my grandmother’s decline. Laughing about how she can’t stand up on her own anymore or eat normally. Laughing about how she’s a “whale” for having diabetes on top of stroke symptoms. My mom also tried to “quiz” me about what is wrong with my grandmother’s legs (I used to be a vet tech, and beyond my training not covering humans, I can’t make any type of diagnosis) and got annoyed when I told her it could literally be anything. I’m so tired of this and as bad as it sounds, I wish my mother would just put my grandmother in assisted living. I am genuinely scared for my grandmother since it seems like my mom is using her for Narcissistic supply and a punching bag. (I have a very tenuous relationship with my mom’s side of the family since I am transgender and the black sheep for refusing to move out of state to be with them. If anyone has any advice for me I’m all ears).

I am taking allicin and I know of other drugs that are used for methane sibo. However, no clear effectiveness could be found in the reviews of people who took the drugs.
In the case of allicin, after taking it, I feel uncomfortable and do not notice any improvement in constipation symptoms.
In the case of berberine, there are no particular side effects. However, as far as I know, berberine is mostly effective in hydrogen sibo. If berberine is effective against methane sibo, I am willing to continue taking it.

Throway acct. I (40m) had an encounter with someone on 4/30, kiss and oral sex. 2-3 days ago I started feeling tingling to my lips. It felt pronounced and tender, as well as a bit of a sore throat. I started researching and symptoms match up...started freaking out a but. Still am, anxiety is through the roof. As I looked up treatment I also reached out to Dr to make appt. Soonest is a week out. They also seem lacking knowledge on contraction as what I was advised doesn't line up with most of what I've read. Primarily that you cant contract unless the person had an active OB. They did not. I have access to Famciclovir and dosed 750mg twice that first day and now 500mg twice a day. I'm on day two. The tingling has subsided but I'm pretty sure I see small pimples coming on both sides of my lips although very small. Honestly hard to notice unless you close up and point them out. Hell, I sometimes have a hard time seeing and it only gives me hope.
Ive also been feeling the tingling in the genital/scrotum to anus area. Nothing noted on there but I cant deny that feeling comes and goes. I cant get confirmation for at least another week if not longer. The antivirals surpress possible results and this is fairly early to test no? and this is the first OB I've ever experienced (although pending confirm but symptoms match up). I'm avoiding kissing/sex with my partner and am holding onto dear life that I'm wrong but its seems fairly evident I'm not. I guess Im just waiting for confirmation to break the news? Once I do I know I lose them. No question. my partner and I had sex/oral on 5/2. I don't know what Id do with myself if I passed this on to them, and If I didn't it seems now its inevitable if they were to stay. Besides the extreme level of constant stress, Im scheduled for a surgery tomorrow, minor but involves general anesthesia. I read that triggers and I guess im just waiting to see if that flares and fully confirms for me? Im a mess internally right now. This was the best person to ever happen to me. I know what Im about to lose. Im so ashamed and dissapointed.

A couple of years ago, I went with my now husband to the wedding of his dad's best friend's daughter (sorry for the mouthful).
We were engaged at the time, and a friend of his parents asked why we were taking so long to get married. She proceeded to say that it was probably because I was pushing for the marriage and my now husband was hesitant. I had never met her before.
When I hugged the father of the bride goodbye he ran his hand down the side of my body. A full 12 inches from my waist down past my hip. He didn't say sorry or acknowledge it at all.
Right before we got married my husband's parents gave us some money as a gift and then asked if we could go on a triple date with that man who had hugged me weirdly.
I asked in private with my now husband if I could just fake sick that day because he made me really uncomfortable and my husband said can't you just go for me.
We did a tiny bit of couples therapy and my husband said that these things that felt disrespectful are just how the north shore operates. People put their foots in their mouths. Old people are way too touchy feely. Like his aunt always rubs his knees and calls him handsome and he always is grossed out too.
He didn't really start saying things to his parents about stuff like the above until recently. I think when I told him I would love him forever and i didn't care what they thought I just wanted to know he'll protect me something switched in his brain.
But lately when I look in the mirror I see so much less light in my eyes than I did before all this went down. I don't know how to get over that he took so long to say something and how to get over how his family acted. We are the same religion but from different parts of town. He always says that's just how north shore X operates whenever they act without consideration.

2024.05.14 17:49 possum8616 Adderall XR + antacids (not trying to potentiate!)

I’m so frustrated. I am prescribed both Adderall and more recently an antacid. I pretty much NEED to take them at the same time so staggering them isn’t really an option at the moment. But you guys, those antacids make my ADHD meds hellish for me. They intensify Adderall’s effects so harshly and have caused me to feel side effects I have never experienced in my 15ish years of being on them. It’s getting so bad that I’m literally starting to contemplate what’s worse: gastritis/duodenitis relief or ADHD relief? I view both of my conditions with equal importance.
I spoke with my GI doctor and have tried other antacids, but there’s really nothing I can do. Doesn’t matter if I take them with or without certain foods and beverages. Nothing I have tried helps these side effects. I haven’t talked to my psychiatrist yet, but I’m pretty sure they won’t have a solution. Adderall has always been effective for me and well tolerated. I don’t want to switch ADHD meds, and from what I’ve learned so far is that doing so wouldn’t change my situation.
I can’t believe some people willingly use this combo to potentiate the effects of their ADHD meds, especially without doctor supervision. I can understand MAYBE if it’s a super low dose and the person is unable to get a dosage increase, but even then I’m like wtf based off of my experience. But I do know that every body is different and people will always have varying experiences.
The only thing that kind of helps (BARELY) is propanolol, which I was prescribed before antacids for anxiety. It worked great when it was combined with just Adderall. Didn’t decrease the efficacy of my meds but took away a lot of the physical symptoms of anxiety that Adderall would occasionally exacerbate.
Sorry this post is going nowhere and is kind of ranty. I guess I just need to vent. Obviously, if anyone else is going through this or went through this, please chime in! I’m just really frustrated.

After a great first month, the second month has been tough. Shortly after my second injection I started to feel really tired and achey. And then all my symptoms came back. I've had brain fog, low mood with some outbursts of rage, some tears, hot flushes and no enthusiasm or motivation for anything. It felt exactly like being in luteal, except according to my cycle tracker I shouldn't have been in luteal, and it felt like I was getting ready to bleed. Then the pain started and my period came. It was validating in a way as it confirmed to me that I know my body and I know when these hormones are F'ing me up.
I've been bleeding for about 10 days now. It's a light flow so that's something at least, but I'm not sure what's going on. I don't know if the second injection just didn't work (the nurse injecting said she hadn't done one for a long time and didn't seem to know what she was doing) or if this is to be expected at this stage of the treatment. I do know bleeding in the second month isn't normal so I will probably speak to my doctor about this if it doesn't stop soon. I also wonder if my HRT needs tweaking as I've been aching in places I didn't know it was possible to ache.
I've gained a bit of weight around my hips and thighs, but not around my waist or anywhere else. I assume this pattern is due to the HRT. And also because my diet hasn't been great while I've been so tired.
I started to feel better yesterday and I'm feeling more focused and with it today, so hopefully that's the end of the luteal-ness for a while.
I will say though that, apart from the level of achiness, the side effects have been no worse than the usual luteal phase stuff.
I have my third injection tomorrow. I'll update again at 3 months, which is the point at which my gynae said I should expect to feel the full benefits.

Female 30 150lbs current smoker. I am currently down to 20mg latuda. The plan with my provider is that we slowly go off of it. We think I may not need it anymore because most of my mental health problems may have been pregnancy and postpartum related. I'm doing okay so far at 20mg. My mood is fine. The only thing bringing my mood down is the fear of going off of it and having some kind of episode. So far a few little things have happened. I thought I saw a parked truck out of the corner of my eye. I thought I saw a trashcan out of the corner of my eye. But it was a shadow. And twice my husband was wearing light grey boxers that are kinda nood. And I thought he wasn't wearing pants for a minute. I have heard sirens or like a leaf blowelawn mower in white noise in my room. But usually when I'm laying down to go to sleep. I'm very hyper aware of things like everything I see and hear always looking out for psychotic symptoms. I told my therapist and she thinks I'm fine. Should I tell my psychiatrist? I'm afraid she will say I have psychosis and bump my meds back up unnecessarily. Could this be withdrawing from the medication? Side note I have bad OCD. And my current focus is my mental health and fear of psychosis. I'm am very sensative to medication and withdrawal from medication.

Thought I’d let people know my experience with h.pylori.
So to start with my symptoms…
upper abdominal pain and discomfort -
sometimes I felt some pain under the ribs on both right and left side and sometimes it was just either one, mostly left side, the pain was sometimes towards my belly button but that wasn’t regular. Other times I felt a discomfort, almost like a trapped wind feeling. Never really felt it there before but I know now it’s normal. I guess it was gastritis. This stopped about a month after treatment.
Mentally-
My experience with h.pylori was met with extreme anxiety, never heard of her.pylori so what did I do?! Search it up and i regret that so much. I’m not sure if the anxiety was caused by reading stuff or whether it caused it to be worse I don’t know. I sometimes felt dizzy and couldn’t concentrate, I had to go home from being out shopping, gatherings with friends etc.. could have been from the medication idk, but I felt like that a few times after treatment. Stopped around a month after treatment.
Stool changes-
For me my stool changed massively, I was going to the toilet 2-4 times a day and only passing small amounts of stool. Sometimes it was mucas there too. I’ve been lucky and not had signs of blood etc but I know people have done. Sometimes stool colour changed too.
My advice for anyone that’s struggling-
Stop worrying, there’s no need. Take a probiotic, they work. Rest as much as you can. Stop reading shit online, although I found Reddit very helpful. The pain is most likely gastritis and the stool issues gastritis. If your symptoms don’t go after treatment don’t worry, let your dr know they’ll probably re-test for h.pylori but it’s likely just the gastritis hanging around like mine did.
