So i did previously mention that i love Katey Sagal, but as I finally got all caught up, i DO NOT care for Louise. I get that she just wants to live her life with Dan and spend every moment together, but to complain every single time the kids need him or to get mad and expect him to choose her every time… it’s very annoying. Her and Becky I feel are the most selfish characters and sometimes i just can’t stand to watch them. Dan had his family waaayyyy before they even got together. Part of why he’s so loved in the show and as a tv dad is because he’s done everything for his family. Why would he stop now ? Especially with their mom(Roseanne) dead. He’s all they have. Is it me ? Or is Louise actually annoying ?
ETA: have to word vomit this lol….i freakin hate how Becky has everyone else raising her kid but then complains about how she’s too busy and need a break but literally everyone caters to her. It really pisses me off. I enjoyed when Neville told her how selfish she was basically. But nothing changed. She takes advantage of Darlene and Ben. I can’t stand her or Louise. Rant over 😜😂

I'm trying to think of the direction they could take a spinoff of The Conners.
I can see one for Jackie, married to Neville, but they would have to bring Andy in.
You could have Becky, with Beverly Rose...but you would need someone else in there as well. I still reckon it would be a little "Grace Under Fire", but I would actually enjoy that.
Louise, aka the superstar that is Katey Sagal; can more than carry her own show, so if say Dan were to die and she was a widow on the road with her band, then a series based on "Louise Conner" could be GREAT fun.
I suppose you could have Harris and Mark sharing an apartment.
Rogue elements you could introduce would be Andy, Jerry, Mary even...maybe something where all the cousins unite and share a place together.
It would be have to set somewhere other than Lanford though, otherwise you'd need to explain The Conners characters not being in every episode. It could be Chicago, it could be anywhere in the country.

Whether the show gets cancelled or not (renewal is still possible and negotiations are apparently ongoing)…
I’d be disappointed not to get another season but all in all, I’d be grateful for six additional years with these characters.
I wasn’t around for original Roseanne but I watched season 10 in first-run and I was glad to hear we’d be getting the spinoff.
I’m grateful I got to see 6 seasons of new content based on one of my personal favorite shows of all time. I’m grateful we got to have the spinoff with the entire original cast including Michael Fishman. I’m grateful we got to see 90+ year-old Estelle Parsons who is as sharp as ever. I’m grateful we got to see original side characters like Crystal and Chuck.
I’m grateful we got to see sitcom veterans like Katey Sagal and Candice Bergen. I’m grateful we got a chance to see both Beckys on screen again (it warms my heart to see that Sarah Chalke evidently still gets along with everyone).
The show may not always necessarily get it right. They may retcon characters and play fast and loose with continuity. It’s not perfect with plotlines. But at the end of the day, it’s still more or less fundamentally the same at its core, and it’s absolutely a better representation than whatever season 9 of the original was.
I’m simply grateful.

Does anyone else think that the show missed a huge opportunity by not casting Katey Sagal as Jay's ex-wife Didi? It would have been a fantastic meta-joke, as well as a great semi-reunion for half the Bundy's! And it shouldn't have been cost-prohibitive, since Didi only appeared in a small handful of episodes throughout the series.

Actresses can give characters comedy, love, development, personalities in their roles. These are what makes their characters so hilarious and memorable by fans of the sitcoms. I've already said Nick and Diego should've been 21 and 22 respectively but I had even more thoughts about them and how you could salvage a few of DR3's plot elements. Starting with the orphan retcons, you can keep the "orphans are from santa cabeza" plot line if you maybe just keep it to the names we know for sure are hispanic that way it's not the entire list and actually has some believability that a few soldiers took advantage of some women instead of the same thing happening around 50 times before the incident. But to follow up on that, how about for Nick and Diego specifically we have it be their moms were friends and, since Nick is more important, you can make it so his mother was related to Carlito and Isabela. And, me personally, I'd probably make it so Nick's father was that one soldier who served under Brock from the Road To Fortune comic. Depending on which way you wanna go you can rewrite the Carlito plot point as "He specifically made Nick immune because he was part of his family" or if you want to keep Carlito antagonistic you can do "Carlito tried to infect him but Nick had some natural immunity." Either way it's better than "He wanted to destroy the usa, but also put the cure in one orphan so it could be stopped" which makes no sense for a few reasons.

Moving on, The Illegals group needs some reworking. Imo instead of Red being the leader it should be that blonde guy from Angel's dlc, and he should be corrupt in that the military agreed not to raid their main base and kill them all as long as he gave them the location of some of their safe houses to kidnap a few of their members for experiments. He agrees, Angel always going against him starts investigating getting suspicious from what she hears about the safehouse survivors she saves and after finding where the military is keeping them and freeing them he orders angel to meet up at the mansion to talk only for it to be an ambush where she dies more accurately to how we see her body in game.
On that note, instead of Red being a total rat and selling Nick out for money after he finds out about the illegals leaders corruption agents instead offer him a deal to bring in Nick as once they have the orphan they'll leave the illegals alone. He agrees, tries to act like he did it to be selfish and not put any blame on the group, but after Nick beats him and Katey questions him he admits the truth. He can still die, a bit more noteworthy this way instead of a lamer TK, and maybe since he doesn't have to be the "leader" type in the main story he can have more scenes with Katey just showing them both as actual friends and being a bit uneasy about Nick for his own reasons but not a total dick. In fact if we want to give their relationship more focus I have an idea for that too with notes on how to fix Katey.

So for Katey I kinda generally wanna tone down her sudden changes as Annie, instead of her leaving Chuck because he became a mob boss criminal to afford her zombrex she simply starts seeing herself more as a burden after some military track chuck down wherever he settled down and inform him he has to get Katey chipped by the new laws. He sees it as inhuman, and he doesn't trust the government as he knows Phenotrans had a cure right under their nose and destroyed it, and he knows people like sullivan could be in their ranks corrupting them. So after acting like he's going to get her and bring her out he sneaks away and rides off with her on his bike, thus being on the run and needing to get involved in crime for more than just money reasons. As Katey gets older and chuck is made to do worse stuff for his boss she eventually leaves saying she doesn't want her dad to live like this and that he'd be better off without her.
And as for her joining the illegals this is where she later encounters red, and after taking a look at her he asks if she's infected and when she admits she is he lets her know there's a whole group of them fighting and caring for each other and that he thinks she should join. She's hesitant to agree, not wanting to be a burden to anyone else but he reassures her and even shows his bite and says that he got bit at fortune city and after his parents died he joined up with the group cuz it was like his new family. She then accepts and tries to pull her weight around the group, eventually when the outbreak happens they get more desperate and start raiding the military more getting whatever supplies they can which puts them on the military's radar knowing they're unchipped and interfering with their plans. Then like usual Nick can get involved somehow and all the other tweaks to the narrative I mentioned can unfold.
Anyway that's all the tweaks to DR3's story that I think could make it a lot better and more interesting, feel free to leave any feedback. I don't like this game honestly but it gives me plenty to think about for how it had potential and some remake could actually still salvage the story and strengthen it's connection to previous entries without badly retconning stuff or misusing characters.

So I initially refused to watch the show after they canceled Roseanne(new). I was like no way ! She was a huge part of the show. But since Netflix has recently added it, i figured I’d give it a chance. I must say, watching it without comparing, I actually enjoy it very much. I’m not a fan of any new sitcoms from like the last 5 years or so, but I like this one. I feel it’s relatable in so many ways. Glad David is not a regular though. I couldn’t stand him. But I absolutely love Ben(Darlene’s Bf). On season 3 and not sure how long he’ll be around, but he’s such an amazing addition to the cast. Harris is a bit much for me because she’s so irritating. Not even bitxhy funny, Jackie is as nuts as always but it’s hilarious, I looove Katey Sagal and man she looks great at 70. I wish I looked as good as her at my almost 40 yrs of age Lola And Dan has always had a special place in my heart for tv dads. But I think it’s worth the watch. I do miss Roseanne and I remember being so happy for the reboot then being so sad they canceled it. But here I am…binge watching with no regrets other than maybe I should have been cleaning my room instead of being lazy.
