I'm honestly at a loss of what to do. Until half a year ago I was engaged and had everything I never thought I would have until she decided she was no longer happy. It's been more than a few years since I was in the dating market, but things have drastically changed for me due to a horrible incident that occurred a while back. A bit of backstory, and I'll included a TlDr at the end.
Several years back there was a hobby group I used to regularly attend, and one day this woman who had only started showing up recently took an interest in me. I'd just gotten out of a pretty bad relationship a few months before that, so when she made a move on me, I took her up on it to see where things would go. I wasn't use to a woman actually making the first move, so I took it as a good sign. We saw each other for the next few weeks and in that time we had gotten physical a few times, with her making the first move on that as well. Fast forward to the end of our time together when I found out she had a boyfriend the entire time and was cheating on him with me. I broke it off with her because I didn't want to be "the other guy" to some poor sap, and she wasn't pleased with me for finding out. Her boyfriend had nearly caught her cheating, so what did she do? She threw me under the bus and told him I was "just some creep who wouldn't leave her alone". Hilarious, because I had chat logs that showed nothing but positive interactions between us and call logs showing we would spend several hours a week on the phone together. I block her on everything and move on with my life.
Fast forward several years later, I'm engaged and in a happy relationship, and a gal pal of mine DM's me to tell me she saw a post about me in a group on FB. She sent me live updates on the post as well. I guess these groups called "Are We Dating The Same Guy" popped up seemingly everywhere, and our local group had nearly 50,000 local women in it at that time. Considering I live in what's generally called a "small city", this was extremely concerning. The poster was the woman from the hobby shop, and she uploaded my full name and multiple photos of me. In the post she said that I "violently rxped" her, was a "woman beater", and called me a "dangerous predator". I felt sick to my stomach. Worse than that, at least 15 different women were commenting on the post verifying it was "all true". Only 1 woman tried to defend me, a woman I used to work with, and within minutes her comments were deleted and she was banned from the group. As for all the other women commenting, half of them were women I hadn't seen since literally high school and never spoke to because I was a quiet nerdy kid who stuck to his friends. One of them even said she had "first hand experience", but I had never even spoken one word to her in my life. The other women commenting, I didn't recognize their names or faces at all and was certain I'd never met or spoken to any of them. Comments ranged from saying things like I "stalked them home", "assaulted them at a club" (I don't drink or go to bars), and one even said that I "forcefully penetrated her" in her own home, despite not even knowing who she is.
I spent that entire day having a panic attack and was on the phone with the mental health crisis line for a good while. When I went to work the next day, female co-workers who were normally friendly and cheerful towards me looked at me with disgust or walked in the other direction when they saw me coming. I went home early that day after taking another panic attack in the bathroom. Later that night I had a missed phone call from our local police. Called back, hoping it was just a prank call, but it wasn't. An officer actually wanted to speak with me about some grave accusations that were brought to him. It turns out the hobby shop woman and other she knew collectively called in "anonymous tips" about me, but in those tips I wasn't a "violent rxpist". Instead, these tips included where I worked and told the police I was "dangerous to children". I remember nearly passing out on the phone from panicking again. Turns out the officer I was spoking to already suspected it was BS, because these groups were generating hundreds of "anonymous tips" a day for them. The investigation was closed and branded as "malicious gossip" and I never heard from the police again.
Despite that, my reputation was ruined forever. My partner at the time actually had my back and was a huge pillar of support, but I was still a wreck. I became a recluse and started going to therapy every couple of weeks. In our local group, old posts of guys are "bumped" all the time whenever a guy is found on a dating site or women remember he exists. The group has nearly doubled in size since then too. Posts aren't even about dangerous people, but I'll see posts all the time like "This guy just matched with me and hasn't messaged me yet, any tea??" and even random creep shots of guys at the gym saying things like "This guy is super cute, any tea or red flags??" I see nothing to do with "safety" and actual dangerous dudes I've known over the years haven't appeared there at all. Old classmate kidnapped and nearly beat his partner to death? No post. Dude admits to mxlesting his partners toddler? No post. Guy doesn't buy a gal a gift after a date? He's a monster and must be posted about. It was easy enough to get in there with a dummy account to make sure I wasn't caught off guard again.
---Fast forward to today. I unfortunately find myself single when I never thought I would be again. I'm still somewhat of a recluse, don't keep any photos of my name on social media, nor do I use my real name. I've disappeared as much as possible. I'm still terrified that someone there will remember I exist and post about me again, as I see happen to other men daily. Dating websites are just asking for trouble, as most posts in this group are screenshots of guys profiles. If I dare take a photo of myself and put it in a dating website, odds are very good I'd be posted and would have to suffer through the same ordeal yet again. I can't afford (nor could I back then) the several thousands of dollars to take someone to court for slandelibel, and Facebook says these posts aren't against their "community standards". Even then, that's like cutting a single head off of a hydra knowing that more will take it's place. Meeting people IRL just doesn't happen anymore and it's frowned upon to try to meet women in public settings as opposed to online dating where they can screen everyone beforehand. Online dating is no longer safe for me. How am I to ever be with someone again if OLD is off the table and I have a destroyed reputation?
**TlDr: Woman cheated on boyfriend with me several years ago and didn't like me finding out. Woman in question decides to publicly slander me to nearly 50,000 local women several years later. Slander works and my reputation has been destroyed and people think I'm some kind of monster. I delete all presence of my name and face online that I can, but now that I'm single again, I have no idea how to ever date again with OLD being off the table and having a tarnished reputation.**

The descending chord progression makes everything uneasy on the first listen, you don't know what in the fuck is Kdot gonna reveal next.
   
2. euphoria so many good one liners in this beat, so many shots fired, and the three beat switches are such a cherry on top. This song makes you want to be a better hater in the future, this is the type of songs you want to play in the gym in the beggining of your exercise to get the traction starting.
   
3. 6:16 in LA Most underrated track in Kendrick's side, This one is so chill and it's a good track for a fuckkng warning, A WARNING. The Al Green sample and the "V12" in the intro feels like a track from DAMN. I feel like bar wise, lyrical wise, this song is on the top. the flow/delivery of the lines really shows the forgiveness he needs to what he is about to do to Drake.
   
4. Not Like Us I am not a very big fan of Club Music but this one is so catchy and has the most Iconic lines that even people who aren't interested on the beef got then singing A MINORRRRR. Not my type but it grew on me due to how fun the track is. Not that full of bars but the amount of one liners here are so strong.

Hi all. New here. About six weeks out from due date on the first for both my partner and I. We’re having a girl. The terror of the unknown has given way to excitement and anticipation. I’m pumped!
Did a search on this sub and noticed that threads on the subject were a little old. Looking for recommendations on a gliderocker thing that is also a recliner. Trying to make sure it’ll see use beyond the little infant era. What’s been good for you all?
I’d say the budget is $500 or under. Although under $350 would be even better. Willing to hear about higher priced stuff if they’re really the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Hi everyone. I have a question on date formatting.
I have about 1000 lines of data that I need to sort through by date and then convert to a graph. Unfortunately, the data has dates in DD/MM/YY setting and Excel is reading them incorrectly. Is there to en masse transpose the lines so that the dates read MM/DD/YYYY. OR, is there a way to get Excel to read the dates in the DD/MM/YYYY format so that I can filter them by date?

Sorry for any errors and the length, this is my first Reddit post. My bf (mid 20s M) and I (mid 20s F) have been together for 4 years living together for 2. This was an issue for bf from the beginning and I’ve worked my ass off (therapy, a lot of uncomfortable conversations, practice, etc.) to be able to be open and tell him when I’m upset by something he does. Now that I’m able to do so, he seems to shut down whenever I try though. He also wouldn’t apologize for anything if he thought he wasn’t 100% wrong and unjustified for being wrong for the first 3 years. He finally came around and understood that sometimes you need to apologize for things that unintentionally hurt people. Whenever he brings an issue to me, I immediately feel bad and apologize for the sole reason that I hurt or upset him even if completely unintentional. I genuinely feel bad if I have upset him and have worked hard to not do the million things he’s asked me to do (most were valid, I was pretty emotionally roughed up when we first started dating).
So last night I was doing laundry late. I finished a brutal grad school semester a few days ago but work remote and am starting a second job in person in a couple weeks, bf works full time job. I put my clothes from the dryer on the bed then went to put the new load in and switch the current load from washer to dryer. We were finally going to sit down to watch tv after I cooked dinner, cleaned the dishes, and had been working remote (easy work admittedly) all day. (for context this is the first week in a month i haven’t had to be in the library studying for finals for 18 hours per day) Bf asked if I wanted to watch in bed instead of on the couch so I said yes but that I needed to fold my laundry first. After that, bf started walking around doing random tasks and was obviously dilly dallying.
This has happened multiple times before where my clothes have been on the bed and he’s just pushed them over and laid down next to them and I’ve said twice before that it hurts my feelings when he does that bc I’ve obviously had a long day (not this time but in the past) and alwayssss help him with his laundry or fold it when he’s gone (even though i know i’m not expected to) and he has helped me fold my laundry twice ever in the time we’ve been together. And I had to ask both times. I said it would be nice if he offered sometimes and he got mad at be both prior times and said I shouldn’t expect him to do my chores. I’ve said that I truly don’t expect that but when you’re sitting right next to me and i’m folding all my laundry and you don’t move a muscle or offer to help so it’ll go quicker then I feel like it’s rude bc I always offer or just do it for you.
So last night after he didn’t help me again and even asked if that was all i had left (a huge pile lol) he asked if I was upset and I said no but asked if he was purposely stalling so he wouldn’t have to offer (i said this in seriously the calmest tone possible and was even half joking and laughing about it). Then came the predictable argument where he’s yelling at me about how I could’ve done it all day long and that I waited for him to come to bed so he’d help me and how he does all of this stuff for the apartment and that he’s not lazy but that I can’t get mad at him for not wanting to help and that he’s not going to offer bc i shouldn’t expect him to help with my laundry. I apologized and explained that I don’t expect him to but that it would be nice if he at least offered SOMETIMES. It ended with him furious at me, me in tears, and us not having sex again for about 2 weeks now bc I “killed the mood.” After I continuously apologized for even bringing it up and for us not having sex, he responded each time with something sassy to say (e.g., I said I’m sorry for killing the mood and that I’d love to have sex tomorrow if he still wants to and he responded THREE times with something along the lines of how he would’ve loved to tonight but i had to bring up the laundry etc).
I feel frustrated bc I don’t feel like I can communicate openly if he’s going to yell or laugh or roll his eyes at me every time I bring it up but if I don’t tell him when I’m upset then he’s also mad. I don’t want to be a nag but I don’t feel like I’m bringing things up all that often at all. I love him so much and he really is an amazing boyfriend but the defensiveness makes me so upset. So i guess AITAH for wanting him to offer every once in a while to help with my laundry?

Hello everyone! As always, thank you for your upvotes and comments on my last post about the Sussex County Jane Doe- I hope that her identity will be given back to her soon.
Today I'd like to highlight a Doe case from a neighbouring state.
TRIGGER WARNING: This case involves a young child (3-5) whose body was found in a gruesome state. There are no graphic images for this case, but there will be descriptions and speculation, so proceed at your own risk.
DISCOVERY
On the 5th of February, a 47-year old nurse, Cecilia Davis, has been walking her dog with a friend at Rockaway Beach (specifically near Beach 112th Street) in New York City, New York, USA, around 4:55 PM. When she was collecting seashells, she noticed a bedsheet with a pattern of letters and Disney characters Mickey Mouse, Goofy and Donald Duck, which was tangled in seaweed, tattered and mixed in with debris and horseshoe crabs. Intrigued, she came closer, only to discover that a body of a young child was wrapped in the fabric- she called out "This is a child!" to her friend, after which the two women called the authorities. The boy was nicknamed "John Valentine" as the investigators tried to find his identity.
When Davis managed to catch a glimpse of the body from shoulders down when she found the bundle, she assumed that the child was a girl, about a year old, whose skin had the color of "aged yellow foam"- after a proper medical examination, it turned out that it was actually a boy, and aged 3-5 at that. One of the child's knees was bent, with his foot tucked under his body.
The boy was determined to be white and/or Hispanic. He was 3'0" (36 inch / 91 cm), and his weight couldn't be estimated. He had brown, slightly wavy hair, and his eye color was unknown. His foot was size children's 5. Several bones in his torso were broken- I'm not sure, however, if it happened post-mortem or if it could've been a sign of abuse in life (but I have to say, it would be quite likely that he was abused). The body was headless, but it wasn't cut off- it likely detached during the decomposition and got washed away and eaten by marine life. His cause of death is unknown.
The sheet John was found in was called a "blanket", but it would appear that it is actually a crib sheet. The pattern could've been dated back to the 70s, so there's a possibility that it was a hand-me-down or thrifted. It was also mass-produced, so tracking it down was impossible. The body and the sheet were found inside a duffle bag, which was described as "yellow plasticized canvas duffle bag with one side pocket with a snap enclosure. There are multiple grommets for top closure of the duffle bag. No string is present. The bottom of the duffle bag is made of a heavy white canvas. There are 2 approximately 2” wide canvas straps attached to and surrounding the duffle bag. The duffle bag is approximately 30” tall with a top circumference of 34”. The side pocket measures 10 inches wide and 8 inches tall". It was also described as "nautical-style" and was wrapped with duct tape, and might've had a drawstring on top at some point. No known photos of the bag are available, but there are ones of the crib sheet. I'm assuming that the bag must've opened in the water or deteriorated enough to open, revealing the contents.
Due to a lack of leads, police theorized that the boy might've been thrown into the ocean from a boat or overseas and washed up in New York. A local on websleuths theorizes that the child might've been dropped from Atlantic Beach Bridge by Beach 2nd St and taken to Beach 112th St- Apparently, a lot of people drown in the area, and their bodies are taken up to 169th St (Marine Parkway Bridge).
CONCLUSION
Discovering the body of John Valentine has impacted everyone involved. The precinct involved in the investigation collected funds to sponsor the boy's funeral, so that he wouldn't wind up in a Potter's Field. The Children of Hope Foundation also contributed, and now John is resting at the Cemetery of the Holy Rood in Westbury, L.I, in a section called Island of Hope, with (at the time) 80 infants who have been found abandoned or murdered by their mothers at birth. John was one of the older children buried there.
Cecilia Davis, the woman who found John's body at the beach, has passed away from cancer sometime before 2013. According to her sister-in-law, Emilia Arvai, it has impacted Cecilia twice as much, as she wasn't able to have children. She was allegedly never the same after that incident. According to Arvai, Davis would say "How could someone be so cruel to throw a baby away like that when there’s people around the world who can’t have a baby. (...) There’s a million people who would take that baby."
I think that it's pretty much a given that some kind of violence was involved in this case- why else would someone throw away the body of a child? John wasn't an infant or a newborn, he was as old as five, so it wasn't a case of post-partum psychosis or someone giving birth unexpectedly and panicking. The broken bones made my eyebrow raise- if he really was thrown into the water from a high place like a bridge, then I can see bones breaking on impact, but they could've also been a result of physical abuse; We don't really know much about this detail. It's unfortunate that John's head wasn't recovered- it would probably tell us more about him, maybe a bust or a sketch could've been made and circulated and maybe someone would recognize him.
People on websleuths speculated that John might've been Jesus Alvarado Martinez, a four year old who was probably abducted by his father after he killed his mother in Texas in October of 2004. The age and ethnicity fit, as does height, plus Jesus vanished shortly before John was discovered. There is a lot of distance between Texas and New Jersey, but it is technically possible that Jesus' father could get there in the few months between October and February.
There are no dentals available of John (of course), no fingerprints (which might've been erased due to prolonged exposure to water and decomposition) and, suprisingly, no DNA. This case is relatively recent (forensic development-wise)- I'm suprised that no DNA was taken. Perhaps the investigators expected that it will be solved soon? Still, there are good news- thanks to the department's care over the boy, he was buried (and not cremated), and we even know where he is. Digging up the coffin, taking a sample and performing genetic genealogy on it seems to be very possible, and only needing the funds and public interest to re-open the case. I think that if someone like Othram will take the case in, John being identified is a case of "when" and not "if". I have high hopes for young John Valentine getting his name back at some time in the future and, hopefully, that justice will be served to anyone who took his life and discarded his body in the ocean almost 20 years ago.

Th350 that was bought 4 years ago, recently developed an issue where I need to rev up the engine while in Reverse, or Drive to get the vehicle moving. Once it is moving, it shifts perfectly and doesn’t have any issues unless sitting for around 3-4 hours, then I need to repeat the process. I’m not 100% sure what’s going on? So I’m 19f and my bestfriend B is 19f too. Shes visiting me and her family here where I live since she lives about 10hrs away. To give some perspective, B and I have been friends since we were 10. Of course I would give K a few kisses here and there, but we were still talking with everyone or I spent most of my time with B. Before K left we were all tired, B was on my bed on her phone, B’s sister who came was also on my bed but sleeping. So I was on my pull out couch with K and I was laying on his arm before he left. After K left though and I came back into my room, B immediately tells me “by the way no more PDA or else I’m not coming over anymore”. I was honestly speechless and tried to tell her that I wasn’t doing a lot of PDA but she wasn’t having it and I didn’t want to fight. I was honestly upset for the rest of the night and even this morning a bit. I just hate the fact that I now feel bad for kissing my boyfriend or showing affection to him when I’m with B. I’m not a big fan of overreacting, so I was a bit surprised by the criticism towards the recent change. Sure, it is a big change, but I didn’t feel it was the end of the world or something that was going to really affect the experience of using the app.
My first thought was the “opening move” feature is optional so women can choose if they want to use it or stick to the traditional Bumble philosophy and start by themselves the conversations. It is one of the reasons for using Bumble, right?
However, after a week seeing the change in action, I’m starting to think how bad this new feature is and even how it can kill my usage of Bumble. Sure, we need more time to check how it works, but right now I don’t see myself using Bumble if the new feature confirms my concerns.
Why women starting conversations was important
It is true that most women start a conversation with just a “hey” or a silly gif, so you can think the opening move is not a big deal since most of the times men have to bring a topic, question, etc. in order to start a proper conversation.
But this feature wasn’t exactly about women taking initiative for conversations. The feature was interesting for the effects and online dating dynamics that were generated. One issue with online dating for women is the number of matches and conversations they can get, which leads to not pay proper attention to the dating options, dating burnout, many conversations without follow-up, etc. If they have to initiate in order to have a conversation, they can clean more or less their match queue, focusing only on people they really want to talk to. Of course, they can choose to send a “hey” to everyone and there’s still a lot of matches that won’t get a follow-up after replying to that initial “hey”. But at the end of the day, the general feeling for women is that they could have less conversations going on than other dating apps and for men they could feel each match was a bit more valuable than the average dating app.
The only dating app I have ever used beside Bumble is Tinder, which was my only dating app for some time. While these apps still have plenty of things to complain about, Bumble gave me at least the feeling that it was working significantly better. On Tinder I had more matches, but the conversations on Bumble were usually more interesting and I usually found myself more exciting to go on a date with someone from Bumble.
I don’t have the exact data for the number of matches, but since I installed Bumble, I was equally active on Tinder, getting 2x matches. Despite this, the ratio for my dates I went during this period was 65%Bumble-35%Tinder.
Finally, this detail might sound silly. I know openings by women are usually “hey”, but for men, Bumble notifications always have some dopamine attached due to women starting a chat, an event that only occurs in a very small percentage of matches in other apps. Yes, online dating apps suck most of the time. Nonetheless, Bumble could give you some seconds of feeling rewarded for building a nice profile.
What will happen now?
The update needs some time to make a proper evaluation. So far, we can only speculate. After thinking about what made Bumble special over other apps, I feel losing its particular feature will make the experience worse. At the beginning, I thought it wasn’t that bad: not all profiles will have the “opening move” activated or even the new feature is okay because it will give us an idea to start a conversation.
The issue is when we look at the big picture: now women on Bumble can get more easily overwhelmed by the number of messages they receive, increasing the dating burnout. Hinge seems to be doing well thanks to its aggressive politics towards reducing the number of matches and chats you can have. Bumble might have a problem with the number of matches and likes for women but at least it was doing fine regarding the number of conversations opened.
The new feature will generate more chats but looking at the online dating landscape, this usually results in a worse experience for both men and women. Reducing the number of matches and make each match more meaningful should be the goal and right now Bumble is going on the opposite direction.
Bumble is losing users and they don’t know what to do
As many other online services, they were happily seeing how each year the userbase was growing exponentially until suddenly your annual growth is not as big anymore. There is no infinite growing but stake holders cannot understand it. We have seeing already so many stupid decisions by rich companies like Netflix or Microsoft and the match group is not an exception. I also feel like dating apps have peaked in terms of userbase. Then, the apps are trying to make changes to get more users or improve the engagement, while also trying to be even more profitable. The changes seem to increase the engagement for the users and the premium plans are more expensive than ever. So far it looks good for them, until the userbase starts to decrease.
It seems one of the reasons for this new feature is to please user complains. Women said they didn’t know what to do to start a conversation or that they just really do not want to do it. Men also complained that it was impossible to get someone else’s attention and some matches get lost without having a chance to try. One important lesson for design (and it doesn’t matter the field) is that even when the customer complaints, they really don’t know what they want or what is good for them. The “opening move” feature is a great example of this. I don’t think people overreacting to the change and deleting the app will make a big impact, but the new Bumble seems to be more prone for online dating burnout and the users will be deleting the app gradually.
Also, why not implement the “opening move” the other way around (for straight men profiles so women can start a conversation without that allegedly tedious feeling of thinking what to say)? Or why not limit the number of opening moves received/sent to make the matches more valuable? They could have implemented many ideas to escape the “wow this is just Tinder now” critique, but it seems they didn’t even try to keep the Bumble initial identity.
Getting even more subjective, I would like to give my advice regarding the use of the “opening move” feature. For me, it is not a great sign to see a profile with this option activated. If I’m having conversations with different people and I see one profile with this option, this potential date looks less interesting. I know that I don’t speak for all men, and I know women have also plenty of things to complain regarding the dating world, but the lack of initiative by most women is something that turns me off. On the other hand, women starting a conversation, proposing a date, making a plan, opening a conversation with something more than just a “hey”, etc. can make a lot of men really interested. Of course, there are so many things to consider and it is never easy to know why sometimes you are attracted to some people more than others.
My point is that at least Bumble opened a door to see something a bit different in the dating world. As a man, it was interesting to see women starting a chat. It does not happen often but sometimes you get someone starting a conversation with something funny or interesting. These kinds of things also give you the opportunity to decide if you wanted to be more interested or not in the match you were chatting with. If I’m texting with two matches and one of them does not have “opening move” and she started a conversation asking me something she liked about my profile, while the other match the conversation started because of me… Probably I will be more interested on the first woman.

2 years ago someone gave me a John Deere lt150 with a pristine body/frame, deck, and a blown up Kohler CV15S. Got a replacement engine for $400 on Ebay, about 4 hours later, and a new carb, I had a nice running mower with bagger attachment. I use the bagger, 100% of the time. My main reason for cutting the lawn at all is that I want the mulch for the massive compost piles we have going and our 6k sq ft garden + our 50 orchard trees. All total, we have about 5 acres of hobby farm. Some is well maintained / smooth, some is not. I mow most of it / what the animals aren't keeping up with or can't be allowed on.
Grew up using Walkers (Dad owned a lawn business) and aside from my little LT150, that's all I know. Of course I'm not spending $25k on a lawn mower and the last used one I saw had over 100 people in line and it was over priced. What's out there / what will I be happy with? I assume a lot of the newer tech (especially zero turn) will be a huge life change over the 8 hours a week I spend on my lt 150. But, I know mostly nothing. My goal is to mow faster. I spend too much time trying to flip the 150 around, or go around trees/obstacles. Also, the bags fill up a bit quick / lots of time back and forth to the compost piles, garden etc.
