Recently I have been doing poorly to say the least. In the past week I made some discoveries about why I behave in certain ways and how it stem from my childhood. I am normally very good at regulating my emotions but this week has been terrible. I've been annoyed way easier than I should be and for the past few days I've struggled to get out of bed. I pushed myself to go out and hangout with people but I feel absolutely miserable. Partially because in my friend groups I'm always the mediator and the one who takes lead and makes plans. But right now it's all too much. Staying inside sucks, going outside sucks, being with friends sucks. A big reason for this is partially due to my parents. I currently live with my parents and, my dad was and is still very verbally abusive and demeaning. He previously was physically abusive but he doesn't do that anymore. He is blatantly homophobic and well I'm gay. He says he does these things out of love and the thing that sucks is he wholeheartedly believes it. Living my life knowing that I'm not good enough for him to change hurts. He's said that he doesn't support gay marriage and wouldn't attend my wedding if i get married. And the kids would not be part of the family. I'm not even sure what to do here. I've discussed things with him once or twice but i feel the conversation leaning in a bad direction (He starts quoting bible quotes or talks badly about the current generation). I don't think there i anything i can do. And that's the worst part of all. I really want to have a relationship with my father and when I look at other happy families It makes me jealous that they have something I might never be able to achieve. Is there something, anything I can do to make this work?

I’ve loved every second of all the other books but for some reason this one is hard for me to get into, despite some of my favorites such as Cosca, Shivers, and Lamb (I know who you are fucker) making appearances. There’s great quotes and lots of really great chapters so far that I’ve enjoyed reading. Currently I’m at “New Lives” and I don’t know what it is but it’s become a struggle to get excited to read. I feel like it may have to do with the perspectives being a little less unique or exciting. Temple is without a doubt growing on me and I like Shy but her pov just seems super generic and almost very similar to Monza. I’m definitely gonna keep reading and will probably eat my words but was wondering if anyone else also struggled through the early chapters

Hello! Hoping to get some feedback on my floor refinishing timeline with a future remodel.
We have narrow plank red oak floors throughout our house except in the kitchen where there’s tile. The floors are in good shape - definitely livable, but they’re that old orangey color with signs of wear, light scratches, tape marks, etc.
I want to refinish the floors now, but unfortunately we’re not able to remodel the kitchen for another couple years. When we do remodel I want to put in wood floors in the kitchen to match the rest of the house. Given the floors outside the kitchen will still be pretty new, I don’t want to have to refinish everything again during the kitchen remodel.
Do you think it’s possible to match new narrow plank red oak floors - refinished the same as the rest of the house - two years after the refinish everywhere else? When I ask this during quotes I’m told it’ll take a couple years for them to look the same, but no one has had pics to show me how different they’ll look during that time.
I’m really itching to refinish the floors but I can be patient if this is a terrible idea. I’d love feedback! Thank you.

I’m officially 6 months into my pre-op braces today (yay!!) and my bite/teeth are moving along nicely. I’ve heard both here and from my ortho that pre-op braces put the teeth into the optimal position, and “cosmetic tweaks” can be done after.

This story isn’t very sad I guess more so just to me but I thought I’d share anyways. When I was in my first year of middle school I was in a new district where I didn’t know anyone. I was fairly smart for that age and I found all of my work to be fairly easy. I started strongly disliking school do to how lonely I was and just stopped trying in class. Grades dropped down to D’s and F’s and my dad (who’s a “you must have perfect grades” kind of guy) was furious. Last trimester I decided to lock down and get my work done. I managed to surpass everybody in my grade getting straight A’s nothing under a 97%. At the end of the year I was presented with A honor roll and a bumper sticker to give my dad. I was so damn happy and proud of myself and was just so excited to show my dad I did it. But when I got home and handed him the bumper sticker he looked at it and just said and I quote, “No this isn’t correct, your school must have gave you this by mistake you don’t deserve this” and threw it away in the trash. It honestly broke me, I worked so damn hard (as hard as a 6th grader could) and just wanted him to put that sticker on his car and say he’s proud of me. I brought it up to him a little bit ago and he just acted like he didn’t remember. As I said not that sad but it stings a little.

Long story short - we have a 2016 Hyundai Tucson that has had multiple problems since we bought it. The car broke down while driving a couple hours... we were on the freeway and suddenly it felt like the gas pedal wasn't giving the car power. Pulled over to the shoulder, boom, car wouldn't start back up, battery and oil pressure and various other lights flashed.
We got it towed to a mechanic and they said the cat convertor was cracked or otherwise compromised in some way. They quoted $850 to cut and weld a new one in, or $1100 for a direct fit replacement. Is this reasonable? Any advice here is much appreciated!

Trying to unravel this one and am hoping that some gurus can point me in the right direction.
Exchange 2019
Server 2019 for AD
Domain Functional Level at 2016
A company before us did a "migration" to M365. In quotes because I am not sure how they did it.
Exchange is not configured for hybrid and the VM is powered off. I can power it on and get to ECP / OWA without issue so I am sure that I can get it to uninstall cleanly.
However, while Entra Connect is installed on the domain controller it doesn't look like it was ever actually configured and the M365 Identity dashboard shows that it is not configured and a sync has never run. This seems accurate as changing password on prem does not update M365 (and the other way around).
The goal is to get Entra Connect running so that we do have sync between environments so users are not maintaining two sets of credentials. We also want to uninstall Exchange and remove that VM.
I think that they exported on prem mailboxes to .pst, reconfigured DNS records to point to M365, created a new Outlook profile connecting to the M365 mailbox and then imported the .pst.
Is there a way to verify that M365 is fully isolated from the on Prem Exchange before I uninstall Exchange and then enable Entra Connect. My concern is that I am wrong and there was some sort of Hybrid environment and there are Exchange attributes on the cloud accounts that would get removed.
If it is isolated I believe that uninstalling on prem Exchange and then configuring Entra would be the way to go.
Any insights would be appreciated!

I wanted to see if I could figure this out along with her I'm 33 minutes in, but I started back at the beginning of the puzzle to work my way through because I don't want to see the answer before I've tried to work my way through the problem. Here's my logic.

I'm not sure if the answer to why she's there is revealed by the end of the episode, but I haven't finished it yet.) is the result of neurons firing in a specific order. Much like how they have to find the clues in a specific order. Just like how to get out of a maze, you have to make decisions in a certain order. (David Ajala has me cracking up! also I just realized their necklace is an open book.)

"Book" states over and over the the library represents her mindscape. Well, if the library is her mind, what is it full of? Books! But book is also there working as her guide. Helping her navigate the maze and figure everything out. What she wants is children with Book. I'm assuming the lights shutting down represents the fact that she is missing the window of opportunity to have children with Book. A literal biological clock.

If you keep crying like that God will make that happen, do you want mummy or daddy dead? Then stop crying like that for losing a football match" MAN MY HEART FUCKING SANK. She saw my reaction and tried to explain that this is the only way to make him stop crying like that over stupid things. I unleashed my wrath quite gently by saying he's 10 and Autistic and this is how you decide to soothe him. Also making God a heinous asshole in the process. She's well educated, talks a big game on how she's empathic and has done neurolinguistics on communication and shit. I pointed all her shit out and said this is your response. I understand it's hard being a single mother with special needs kid, the kid himself has a very high IQ but has difficulties with social situations. It truly makes me laugh ever time I remember that the boss at ABC is now going to be using Grey's as a way to build viewers for the local news. It feels a bit insulting for it to basically be reduced down to that. Them using it as a rating grab for local news honestly low key shows that the local news is more of a priority to the network than greys isat this point
