When I try downloading wifi drivers it says “No suitable drivers.” I tried the newest bios and some older bios. None of them worked. BT and an ethernet cable seems to work, but I don't have a cable. I also tried reinstalling windows 11. Putting in some code like netsh int reset. I also tried downloading wifi drives from Microsoft update catalog. I also turned on the wifi in the bios. No wifi shows up under network adapter.
This is so frustrating since this is my first pc and it been like 10 hours and nothing worked. What should I do? Thanks

Hey all,
I’m new to fedora and Linux in general. Just went all in on my main PC with Linux and it’s been cool so far just a minor issue where I’m not getting the wifi speed I normally got while on windows and while on all my other devices for that matter
I have a gigabit download connection but my system is barely hitting 300 mbps (yes bits not bytes, I already double checked that) and I know 300 is still very good but my windows installation used to hit up to 600mbps.
i originally noticed it when downloading some games on steam. I tried a few fixes that were suggested such as disabling http2 and ipv6 but none of that really helped
It got me thinking that maybe the issue is just the wifi in general which it was. I got 300 mbps on two different speed tests which prompted me to try individual speed tests on 2 laptops I have at home one is a MacBook other an windows laptop and both are also getting about 500/600mbps same with my phones and all my housemates devices as well. Only my fedora system is getting lower download speeds.
My wifi device is an Intel wifi 6 AX 600 and as far as I saw in the internet, drivers for this device should be baked in the kernel and I myself haven’t installed any other kinds of wifi drivers.

Also, there were driver updates, utility updates, etc. do I need to download those to the usb as well or can I download those once I have my new pc built?

heya, i recently bought an old Rift (not rift s) with the two sensors from a family member, started to get it set up and everything went alright till it was time to put the headset on and start downloading games. so the issue: for the life of me and all the trouble shooting ive tried i cant find a fix. my view within the headset while standing still is fine, tracking while looking up/down, and moving forward and back is acceptable, however when i turn my head to look left or right the entire view tilts nearly 30degrees while turning. after 1-3 sec the entire view snaps back to horizontal like one would expect it to look. this is extremely disorienting and isnt something i can just ignore.
Trouble shooting ive already tried: re install meta quest link software reinstall graphics drivers from scratch disable all usb power saving modes verified all necessary usb ports (headset, and two sensors) where indeed 3.0 ports swapped usb ports around ran and re ran device set up and flor calibration and sensor calibration through metaquest link numerous times updated windows rebooted pc many times covered all reflective surfaces tried with lights both on and off re installed USB drivers tried in many games and vr homes to verify its not a specific game/ home issue covered the headset while tracking to try in break tracking in attempt to reset it( some rando forum solve, no luck) tried ovr tool kit floor fix launched through steam vr and metaquest link both removed head gasket in case it was some funny business with the aftermarket replacement
at this rate im at a loss, not sure whats wrong or how to fix.. plz halp

I just upgraded to studio one 4 to 6 and I'm having troubles getting My microphone or midi inputs registered. I'm using a scarlett 2i2 2nd gen and a MPK mini II and have downloaded all the drivers and have everything set up properly as I have done this before but alas I'm getting no sound both in and out.
It tracks that its reading midi but no sound or recording happens once I start to try and record the track, can't even demo sounds but it still shows that midi is being used.
With the microphone I have it set up mono on the correct audio device and channel but still nothing. Idk what to do and it's really starting to frustrate me as I have gotten to work before the upgrade.
I have lost my patience with trying to find a video that explains my exact issue, they are all just set up videos that show all the things I have done already to set up my devices

I tried plenty of games i downloaded from steamunlocked and they all worked on my normal pc, but when after i tried them on my Asus Rog Ally in Elden Ring Sekiro and Dark Souls 3 it keeps giving 0xc0000142 error code. I tried every method i can find online, i fully updated windows and drivers, but they still dont open.

Okay so I'm gonna run down the issues here and everything I've personally tried to remedy the issue.
My house has 1gbps internet speeds. My PC consistently gets around or at the very least 75% of 1gbps on speed tests I get 957mbps. Had a few bad connection spots here or there where I had terrible connection, but they cleared up on their own so I have to assume it was a provider issue. Haven't had connection issues for about 9 months on my end. Same with my Dad's PC no issues he get 700mbps consistently.
This is important as my dad is on wifi and my brother and I are both ethernet. I have a cat8 going into my PC, this connection goes into a wall connection that has cat 5e run throughout the house. So basically my cat 8 is bottlenecked to 5e. Remember I'm still getting max internet speed. My brother on the other hand is down in the basement where our router is. And headlined direct with cat 5e. In essence we have the same ethernet cable. Now for some numbers
I decided to test both speed tests and actuals.
My speed test 957mbps
My brother's 268mbps
Downloading Elden ring. My download finished in sub 10 minutes My download peak and consistent avg. Peak: 750mbps average 656mbps not perfect, but it's nothing to scoff at that's for sure My brother's still on going for the last hour Peak: 567mbps(one time) actual peak 267mbps consistently 168mbps
I think it's important to list the one time peak of 567 it shows that his ethernet can provide him with the high internet speed it's supposed to, but it's not.
Attempted solutions
Swapped ethernet cables
Updated network adapter drivers
Changed duplex from auto to full(1gbps)
Checked ethernet cable network cap. Ie hit properties on his ethernet to see if his cable was limiting him in settings. Nope it supports 1gbps. I'm genuinely at a loss here there's no reason that I can see why he'd be this badly throttled. His download is 1/5 at best of mine. Heck I'd even take 2/5th if I could get it.
The whole reason this comes up is because we both play a game called dark and darker. My launcher game update took all of 5 minutes for it to finish. His was 2 hours in 67% done on 26 GB update. Even at 168mbps it shouldn't have taken 2 hours!? I don't get it

my GPU is an NVIDIA geforce RTX 4060 laptop
I tried - rebooting my machine - running steam as administrator - checking files integrity, multiple times, while opening steam as admin - manually added visual C++ redistributables 2010 2013 and 2015 for my architecture - uninstalling the game completely, removing any DLC and mod and do a fresh download - after the fresh download, check again file integrity after opening steam as admin
the game still does not open properly, it runs for less than a second, then closes as if nothing happened.
From there I
nothing worked, so i followed the clean installation guide, i deleted the whole ARK folder in common/steamapps
i then uninstalled ARK from steam, rebooted my pc, verified nothing was left of the ARK folder and redownloaded the basic ARK again (no mods, no DLCs).
Steam also downloaded the steam common redistributables.
I tried opening the cleanly installed ARK, but it still would not open properly. I again checked for file integrity issues, and i found none.
I get no apparent crash when it does this.
I tried to open it once more today, and i noticed that in steam/dump and steam/dump/reports no new .dmp files are created.
Im unsure if this is a phantom crash or a fails to run problem.
What other info i can give to help investigate the issue?
Any help would be appreciated

2024.06.09 20:00 Medved97 Apps not opening on a brand new pc

So, recently had a new PC built for myself. Windows 11, buncha higher end components. Problem is, I did the log into the pc on my MS account and a bunch of apps just don't want to properly start. I'm talking freeze as soon as the window opens.
This happened with Brave Browser, and both FF7 Ever Crisis and Cyberpunk 2077 on Steam. Haven't tried any other apps in fear of just breaking something. MS Edge and Final Fantasy XIV both work, along with Steam itself and Discord if that helps.
Here's the specs: Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7800 XT, Fractal Design Focus 2 ATX Mid Tower - PCPartPicker
Have already done the checks in Windows, and it says that all components are working properly. Have all the newest drivers, both for bios and gpu/cpu. Downloaded all the updates, did the memory testing, tried running programmes as administrator, unlocked the "true" administrator account and they didn't work on it either. Thanks in advance
Edit: Aditional info, whenever I go into Task Manager, and I try to switch over to the "Performance" tab, or just try to close the application itself, it freezes as well, and stays open untill I force close it

Hi I've got an older PC, Ryzen 5 1600 + GTX 960 and I wanted to use this as a gaming PC for my TV. I have set up the softwares, and are downloading games. I also got a Vega 56 lying around so I swapped it so I can run heavier games but the PC never went through BIOS. The led indicator on the motherboard (Strix B350-F) shows a white LED Indicator (GPU), but i swapped the GPU to my main PC and it works fine. So nothing is wrong with the hardwares, and I'm still currently using the older GTX 960 again. It seems that since I've installed the nvidia driver, when I installed the AMD GPU, it won't recognize it, but I can't install AMD Adrenalin driver while using my nvidia GPU. How should I install the Adrenalin driver then? Or is it possible to just uninstall the nvidia driver, then swap to the AMD gpu?

I recently completed my first pc build. After turning it on, I installed Windows 10 Home from a usb flash drive. I set up windows without wifi.
Afterwards, I went to the MSI support page to download the Lan/ wifi driver to a Flashdrive on another computer. When I opened the file on my new pc to run/install the driver, it said “No suitable drivers available.” I have the MSI B650 Tomahawk Wifi.
in the Msi website, I downloaded the windows 10 version of the wifi driver. I have no idea what to do. Is there a way to fix this issue, or is something wrong with my motherboard? Thanks

Flamma FS21 Drum Looper - Software Issue
It was a great FX pedal until I filled all 40 memory banks with loops. It is another story when trying to wrestle with the Flamma software on Windows. This is the part no one is talking about or demoing in tutorial videos. Maybe they all are DAW savants.
Ok, here's how it works for me: I connect the pedal via USB and power cables to my PC. Downloaded and installed the correct Windows driver software from the Flamma site. Here's the limited options available for it:

Looks simple enough, right? Well, what happened was, Flamma has auto-created a folder 'COMPUTER' in the programs folder for me with only 100 available memory banks. That made 2 problems for me. 1- limited storage banks; I plan on making many loops and saving them w/o using a DAW. 2- limited SSD storage; I don't want to have all of these media files cluttering up my local disk space; I want to save them on another storage drive. So, there is a folder button on the top right where you can browse to a new storage location. Great. Using that method I spent about 2 hours migrating the loops 1-by-1 from the pedal to my external drive. Also, be prepared if you try this: when exporting loops from the pedal, the drum machine settings are not retained. You will have to go in and take note of your settings for each memory bank. Also note, if you rename the .wav file during this process (from the storage device) or alter it in any way, the .wav becomes unusable and you get this nice error:

I looked up the error online and the general consensus is, Windows Media Player is missing the proper codecs to load and play the .wav file. I'm assuming Flamma has baked in protections to make sure you are not able to separate their drum tracks from the device itself.
That's as far as I got. So I have 40 unusable .wav files on my SSD and I want to get these files exported in working order so I can clear the pedal and get back to creating music. Has anyone solved this issue? Please let me know if you got it to work for you and how you did that.

I just got an ace magician mini pc AD08 and upgraded the hard drive with a new install of windows. But when I tried to run it i got a popup on windows saying it didn't recognize it. Ok yall I need some help. So I have tried absolutely everything to fix my crashes on Fortnite but nothing seems to help. I’ve gone through all of epics trouble shooting steps, I’ve redownloaded Fortnite, redownloaded my GPU drivers, I’ve wiped my entire computer and downloaded windows again on a completely new SSD, and I went and got a new power supply since that was the only thing in my pc that was lagging behind. My Fellow Road Warriors!
Just recently back from a 900-mile road trip and, wow, do I have an updated opinion on Google Maps. I still love it obviously; I don't want to go back to a world pre-google maps, but I do think a few more options and settings would be useful.
I was using a Google Pixel 6 Pro with maps pre-downloaded in case cell service wasn't available.
Offline Maps:
I fully concede that maybe these features are available on Google Maps in the browser, but I was not able to figure out how to find these features while driving using Android Auto which means that they aren't discoverable enough enroute when I needed them.

Need some help. So, my gpu rx 6700xt has been crashing for the past 10 to 15 days like get blackscreen the pc is still on just the moniter will show no display the gpu fans stop spinning and i will have to manullay restart the pc . The pc is not overheating when this happens gpu temps are 67 to 69 and hotspot temps are 80 to 85 and cpu temps are 60 to 65 sometimes 70 . I have ddu the drivers multiple times with or without software but I do know that my gpu is not faulty because i gave my gpu to my friend and he gave me his rtx 2070. My gpu wasn't crashing in his rig but his gpu was crashing in my rig. I have also updated my mobo bios and everything else. Now the strange thing is that gpu dosen't crash during benchmarking or stress testing but only in games be it demanding or not. So, far i have used furmark , 3dmark , radeon own stress test and for the cpu which is ryzen 5 5600 I used cinebench and for ram i used TestMem5.
Also another thing whenever i ddu the drivers and install another set of drivers it will work for 2 to 3 hours and then it will start crashing again. Until i ddu the drivers and download another set of drivers so i want to know if it's the drivers or my psu or my motherboard cause this is my first pc and i dont know what to do . Also i have fully restarted the pc two time and it still crashes and the other things that i did include
1.Disabled mpo 2.Set the pcie to gen 3 3.Also disabled PBO( Precision boost overdrive) 4.And CPB(Core performance boost) 5.Also tried with XMP and without it 6. Disabled windows automatic drivers 7. Also disabled and enabled amd smart access memory

My game keeps crashing after trying all troubleshooting steps and even more steps beyond that

Ok yall I need some help. So I have tried absolutely everything to fix my crashes on Fortnite but nothing seems to help. I’ve gone through all of epics trouble shooting steps, I’ve redownloaded Fortnite, redownloaded my GPU drivers, I’ve wiped my entire computer and downloaded windows again on a completely new SSD, and I went and got a new power supply since that was the only thing in my pc that was lagging behind. 2024.06.09 13:56 destinyraids24 My game keeps crashing after trying all troubleshooting steps and even more steps beyond that

Crashing
Ok yall I need some help. So I have tried absolutely everything to fix my crashes on Fortnite but nothing seems to help. I’ve gone through all of epics trouble shooting steps, I’ve redownloaded Fortnite, redownloaded my GPU drivers, I’ve wiped my entire computer and downloaded windows again on a completely new SSD, and I went and got a new power supply since that was the only thing in my pc that was lagging behind. It would run for about half a game now instead of crashing after trying to load into a match, but I still crash. If anyone can help please I’m open to anything. Here is my crash log as well

2024.06.09 13:51 kingmooze First time in forever AMD so did i miss anything?

So it´s been a while since I built a new PC.. Really long and even longer since I used all AMD. I´m not into OC in regards that I now chase numbers even if I at one point did. Now i just wanna make the most of what i have. I have been changing stuff around slowly but since it´s an AMD and im not that up to date I was woundering if i missed something that could be better in terms of settings? Im not sure about the FCLK and feel i can push it more but havent had the time mto test it. I went from 23.8k in Timespy to a bit above 27k. AIDA seems to be as bad at benching as several years ago but its showing latency at 66.6ns wich feels really bad? Linpack at standard 3gig and 4 runs shows 393.046 in average. Not that great it feels like?
I do run all test with torrent, some chrome windows and wallpaper-engine running. Specs are: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D ASUS TUF GAMING RX 7900 XT OC ASUS ROG STRIX B650E-F GAMING WIFI DDR5-6000 KINGSTON CAS 30 (Hynix) 2x16 running at 6200.
