[RANT] The Absolute Disastrous State of Telcos in SG.
Let me preface this by saying that I hugely appreciate how well-connected Singapore is as a whole. We have one of the fastest Internet speeds (according to Ookla) and also one of the highest smartphone adoption rates in the world, so it’s easy to take a lot of this infrastructure for granted.
YET, the event that begets this post is my not-so-pleasant experience with 2 telcos (out of the big 3).
Firstly, SingTel. SingTel has been one of my most trouble-free lines since a very long time ago… when it comes to connectivity. Their customer portal, on the other hand, has a long way to go. I often find that bills will suddenly be higher by a few dollars with no itemisation whatsoever to explain it. I also find OnePass to be highly redundant and clunky - the website would not even load on FireFox and I had to open the portal on a new tab in Safari just to stop it from self-destruct via endless refreshing.
Next, M1. The main reason for this post. How am I supposed to use M1’s services if it will not even let me pay my bill? The issues with its lacklustre customer portal became apparent most when M1 introduced the “Bespoke” plans with its own application (My M1+). For starters, why is there even a need to segregate your own services as such? I could understand it if it was part of a transition to a newer model of services, but the current implementation of it is simply dumb and counter-intuitive. The first screenshot is myself trying to log into the My M1+ app, which tells me I’m not one of the cool kids and to head to the My M1 app instead. Dumb, but fine. The next screenshot is myself following instructions and landing myself in this limbo. I guess M1 wants to play Ask Your MotheFather? I am literally trying to give them money and M1 won’t take it 😭
P.S: my billing account won’t even show up on the desktop portal… so

2024.05.29 06:13 Adraksz Is my behavior normal and people lie to themselves or this is weird?

I am honest with my closed ones because Not being is really harder and troublesome , and I think to have a girlfriend and be a liar tô her misses the point of even dating, but...
In other scenarios I pretend to be what they assume I should be, like pretending really hard .
Example: Job Interview last week, that truth is Not what they want anyway, and the least thing they want less tô hear.
Everyone sane knows HR Interview is like an exam of How much bullshit you can speak and hear without laughing. Convince someone you need this Job to save the world using the secret Power of an Excel sheet or whatever .
Lie that the project you did in college made your mindset Flip and Flop and say something inspiring about your previous experiences in workfields that are the same as this Will be If you pass the bullshit test :
Work, get money , pretend to Care about the Company (read any sideline of old news of the history of this shit and say something to make the interviewer think you know more than your occupation hás tô know) , make It seems because of this 5 min google you ARE really interested because you know something about the past dead owners that with honor destroyed a Lot of the climate.
After that, flush this information post interview because even the HR dont know this shit and If It knows It, was because it checked It at the time and for sure will forget It later.
Don't say you finish before the deadline to not be overworked and not overpayed, lie to your Boss everytime It is possible and fake a surprise If you get caught and overreact with fake apologies and fake sincerity assuming your mistake and own the mistake to pretend to be honest and say that Will never do It again.
Then he can feel the dopamine rush of having authority out of someone and Will like you as a pet subordinate, than keep procrastinating and be proactive only in the act of faking How much time and effort you took tô do something and say with conviction everytime and make pain faces to show How hard you ARE as a worker
If possible, shit on the office to have more time at home too
And while your mind is thinking this in the interview your mouth is saying shit like carbon footprint Control is the future and How you Will automate Random flux that you Will say Random numbers of % efficience knowing they dont know shit and you can look that shit after , at the same time, you can see in the corner of the window the Company cool and moderno with pingpong firing tóxic gas like brbrbrbrbr and you Will for sure make that shit Góes brrrrrrrrrrrrr
Say that you Will go to work in a bycicle and read Tolstoy as a hobbie to show them you are a good Nature protector and cult Man, never say that you watch Peep show.
After being rejected for Not having any experience sometime ago I lied really hard to have my First one, It worked.
This is my Third Job( was Not fired once) that I don't even know I say anything true other than my name , I thought LinkedIn was a circlejerk but saying bullshit doing the minimun got me offers one better than the other.
And I don't usually add those people to my circle of friends because I leave work at work because I don't Care for my colleagues , for me they are respected as human beings and shittalkers and I Hope they think of me the same way , I don't want to talk about work outside of work , I Just want money working the less I can and lying is the norm there anyway, people Just believe Their own lies and are chocked tô see someone saying It out loudly what they do and justify with a hidden Noble and inspirational motivation, I Just own It and say this tô my closed ones to laugh at this shit.
But this seems like a "wrong " thing tô do(homie girl Heard and was pissed) . If being honest is being unemployed why the fuck you would he honest ?
Lying like that makes the Boss like you so much that you dont even have tô be on tiktok dance of the company? How the fuck is this morally wrong?

2024.05.29 06:06 DJThedragonSin777 Evolution Series: Isagi Yoichi

I'm starting a series, where I discuss where characters can go from where they currently are in the story in the context of their football gameplay. Since this is the first entry in this series of mine, I'll start with the protagonist: Isagi Yoichi.
Contextualizing Isagi:
Isagi playstyle is fairly straight forward. He runs up field evading and juking defenders when necessary and places himself in the most dangerous position not only for the defensive line but also for the goalkeeper. His goal scent/Metavision allow him to pinpoint said area. If he were to get the ball before being in said area he usually trades short passes with any allies as he makes with way through the enemy team using his off the ball. And once left unmarked, he waits for his pass so they can repeat the process until he can get in range to use his signature direct shot. This weapon can be fired from both of his feet, with the stipulation that his left foot is 60% less accurate/powerful (not sure which maybe it's both) then his right. When the opposing team has the ball he routinely uses his incredible stamina to fall back and help the defensive line or if the opposing team haven't reached the attacking third yet, he usually goes for interceptions. With his incredible vision, information gathering skills and general field IQ he can lead a match, without even having the majority of his team backing him up. With all of this taken into consideration, on top of the fact that his IQ on the human psyche (egocentrism and ego types: World-type/Self-type) and it's effects on players during matches, Isagi Yoichi can essentially see into the future.
Basic Improvements:
For how Isagi can improve his base play style as it is now, It's fairly simple.
Maintenance on defence
As is illustrated here
And the problem with such a play style
Given the length of NEL matches presumably shorter than geniune 90 min. matches. Going from end of the pitch to the other would require pace and stamina that allows him to complete both his offensive duties and his defensive ones. He would have increase his speed so he can get to his "Meta Burst Points" more successfully as the competition keeps ramping up. And he'd also have increase his stamina so he doesn't tire out during the full 90 minutes. But he seems to have remedied this problem in the NEL, so his current endurance regiment should be enough as long as he keeps breaking his limits during training.
As for the rest of his physicals he should be pretty good when it comes to being physically pressed even by larger opponents.
Karasu, larger opponent who gave him trouble in the past...
...He manages to hold his own agaisnt long enough to keep the ball safe from him and begin a tiktaka sequence his Kurona. Good chop pass as well
So when it comes to getting physically pressed Isagi's not as powerless as he was before and with the addition of his Two-Gun Volley to his arsenal he should be fine when it comes time to score.
Moving forward when comes to shooting, there's only two things he really needs to do.
MASTER IT
Mastering the Two-Gun Volley can entail so many things. Increased shot accuracy with his weaker foot, the ability to perform longer feint sequences, (more than one feint) or maybe increasing his shooting speed so he can still shoot with foot he feinted. There's a plethora of improvement that can be made this fundamentally dangerous weapon.
That's where I'll wrap it up for this section because frankly Isagi's base play style is already dangerous as is. And as your about to see in the next section there's very little overt or drastic additions or changes you can make to it, that won't fundamentally change Isagi as player.
Additions going forward/Story relevant changes:
Isagi is own to add weapons to his arsenal that aren't necessarily viewed as conventional: Metavision, Egocentrism and now his Egocentrism is evolving to take into account player's ego types so he can better predict their top performances. I'm sure that Isagi will continue to gather these brand of weapons, let's just call them mental weapons for simplicities sake. As for what they will be I have ZERO clue. I expected Metavision or something to the effect of it be introduced of course I didn't expect it to be depicted in the way it is. I did see Egocentrism coming especially considering how simple it is in nature. But Isagi's been characterized as some one who takes mental aspect of the game into account far more than other's do, so I can't be surprised at this development. Especially since having a protagonist who thinks in such a way helps us see how he makes these crazy decisions. And our protagonist behaving in such a way also helps us delve deeper into the psychology of the other players on the pitch, especially from outside view like Isagi's. Take for example is employment of verbal abuse towards Kaiser, to further deepen his adversary's obsession with him. Isagi taking the pride and joy's of his opponent's into account will always be part of his game. And how this evolves I cannot tell you. I for sure did not even think about ego-types when reading. But in hindsight, it's par for the course considering this is manga about "Ego" as a concept first and foremost. Holistically the football and it's logistics take a backseat to this central theme. It's more accurate say that football is simply medium in which this theme of "Egoism" is expressed in the story. But I digress. TL;DR I can't tell what Isagi's next mental weapon is going to be.
But I will attempt to make an estimation on what PHYSICAL weapon he might acquire. And this theory is going to be based on not only story implications or events that have previously happened in the story, but also on taking into account what his arsenal and play style already look like. So what's this weapon?
A Rainbow FLICK!
Yes I know Isagi sucks at dribbling (for the most part) but he's gotten drastically better as seen here:
Impressive lift
Not necessarily dribbling but still an impressively perfomed feint that lend credence not only for my theory on whether or not Isagi can learn the move. But also on why the Isagi will learn the move.
Even complimented by Yuki
Well executed evasion of a slide tackle
But with that aside, how would he even learn this? Simple the same way he acquired his left shot. His friends. It is perfectly within Isagi's character to reach out or take from those whom he needs help from. I predict that he'll go to Chigiri the same way he went to Kunigami. Of course not for the matter at hand, that being the rainbow flick but rather with help on his physicals, since Chigiri has great stamina, speed and probably everything else since he was a part of manshine. While, like I aforementioned, Isagi could use some of that. As for the rainbow flick I think he'll go to Hiori and/or Bachira for help on how to develop the ball control and skill to execute it.
Now as for WHY Isagi would want the rainbow flick. It's fairly simple, It's to aid his Two-Gun Volley.
My Idea for it's utilization in Isagi's bag is in the scenario he gets pressed from behind or even from the front he can use it to start using his off the ball (which is way better than his dribbling) to catch up to the ball while getting pass the defenders. From there the ball will still be in the air and he can use his two Volley from there.
I mainly got this Idea from rereading Ubers. (And watching football stuff on instagram) But I saw this sequence from Hiori in Ubers and I thought that if Isagi could do that but instead finish with a Two-Gun Volley in front of the goal he'd be a monster.
https://preview.redd.it/nxlahe2lca3d1.jpg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=aaa1961ec910ca57fc77c4dcbcaf63b66254f150
https://preview.redd.it/sc17sugmca3d1.jpg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3a2b083b0e17ee99b834c98c18272ef524bcdc78
https://preview.redd.it/acpoj0onca3d1.jpg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b2ac49dcc6e71043e47106a04c9abf42ee6e5ed5
And another reason why I think this is in character for Isagi is that it follows (almost) the same principle as the lefty shot.
Simple weapon to help in tight spots
He doesn't need to be the next Bachira, Sae or Hiori but also doesn't need to be next Noa or Kunigami. He didn't seek to become completely ambidextrous after Kuni's warning, so he simplified his goal. He can't play completely ambidextrous like Kuni and Noa but he doesn't have to he simply needs to be able to shoot with left leg not play the entire game with it like it's his right. I believe this follows the same pattern, he doesn't need to perform 20 elasticos and nutmegs in a row but just being able to get the ball over his head, like how Hiori has done for him in the past with the no look assist and no look goal. But this time his Two-Gun Volley is waiting for the keeper on arrival, that's just what he needs to get pass the hurdle of a demon press from someone like Aiku when he has the ball.
Case in point
And even from that position he can get caught lacking from behind (no Diddy) while having do deal with defender in front of him if he can't pass
So i'll leave you with this sequence i've stitched together along with a in-motion I found to open up to better visualize it.
https://preview.redd.it/whb21mvgia3d1.jpg?width=1492&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c527ee48ace4a4a115af758c2203ca7a69ce53d0
https://i.redd.it/c1jajgx3fa3d1.gif
But yeah... Other than that I don't know how else Isagi can evolve. I mean there's always drive shots and more curved shots but I've seen that suggested so many times that I think I just wanted some different. But anyway, what's your Idea for an Isagi evolution. Please let me know and also let me know what you think of my theory.

2024.05.29 06:01 ominaex25 Need a Fire Sorceress build

Anyone have a build? My wife wants to play a strictly fire sorcerer (I convinced her to at least have ice armor). Asking for a lot, but needs to be easy to play and is restricted to only fire skills. She's capping out around high 20s pit and can't handle pits with me because I'm rolling with golem necro
She likes incinerate and hydras the most. Doesn't really care about fire wall and fireball. But she's starting to understand that there's a limit to incinerate, so she's willing to branch to other fire skills.

2024.05.29 05:58 lizatethecigarettes [Christians only] Genuine question: Why is marriage so difficult and just plain bad so much of the time, if God created it to be good?

I've been married 5 years. No we don't want to divorce. I'm in counseling and we are currently looking for christian marriage counseling that's low cost or free (we are at poverty line). We are both believers.
We recently went to a Christian marriage conference. It was really good. Learned a lot but having trouble actually implementing anything.
But one of the things they said was that we can't look to our spouse to be Jesus for us. So I can't look to my husband to provide for every single need I have because he's an imperfect human. I need to look to the Lord as the One who fulfills me.
So that made sense to me. I get it. But then who should my husband be to me? And why get married at all? I know Paul said it was better not to. I agree with that. But God designed marriage so... I don't know how to put it any better... why does it suck so much?
I mean, it can't just be for procreation. Otherwise, He could've designed us differently. The only things I can think of is (because im not doubting that His design is wrong): 1. I'm definitely not having the marriage He has intended, like my husband and i are not doing a good job, which i guess is obvious but we dont know how to do better, or 2. It's a result of the Fall
Its just that it makes daily life 100% harder. It's constantly putting out fires of misunderstanding and anger on both sides.
We both really felt like God drew us together and wanted us to marry. I don't fully doubt that, but I'm starting to. But to be honest, I was afraid to stay single, for lots of reasons. I'm a complete coward and maybe I just should've worked on my fears and issues with singleness instead.
I love my husband but I know I make his life harder too. Sometimes I wonder if we were better off staying single. It's too late for that now. So I just wonder, what is this marriage that God has designed? Because I don't think I have that. This marriage is cutting years off my life I'm pretty sure. All these panic attacks, and heart palpitations. And for him too.
I'm seriously considering separation to help the marriage but I have no idea how we would do that or if it's what the Lord wants.
Why am I not seeing? What am I not understanding?

2024.05.29 05:56 Metropunk2033 [fo4] My fallout 4 game appears to be reloading all my mods when loading a save

[fo4] My fallout 4 game appears to be reloading all my mods when loading a save
When I boot up and try loading a save, almost all my modded gear is gone. I get a ton of notifications of "_____ level list injection added" and other similar "you've just installed a new mod"-esque notifications.
My only problem with this sort of "mod reload" is the fact my gear, including unique and heavily upgraded weapons are just gone.
Notes include that this started after I installed a couple mods with Vortex (which did hit the plugin limit after deploying, but I disabled enough mods to go under the limit before booting up the game. Also this still kept happening even after disabling the new mods). The only modded gear that didn't disappear are the M84 Flashbangs and (I think) all the modded aid/misc items.
Images:
This one shows four armor pieces exhibiting the same glitch (they don't show up anywhere but trading and the full looting menu for containers, and have the (0) next to them. The metal helmet and ppm gas mask were from an earlier glitch that apparently did the same thing, which I ignored)
This image shows an item missing parts of it's model (my best guess is that it's the weapon's upgrades that came from mods)
This image shows how the little Vault Boy is still wearing (almost) the full armor set I had, while most of it isn't showing up in my inventory. I say almost because the little guy is missing three things, an under-clothing from Grease Rat Garbs, a helmet from Ellie's Armor Compendium, and a gas mask from the Metro Gas Masks mod (different kind than the one that's glitched out in one of the other images). I think the other pieces of armor (unlisted but on the Vault Boy) were just pieces from the vanilla game (maybe with modded upgrades but I don't think so).
I can post my full mod/plugin list if needed (it is rather long though). Obviously responses from anybody who knows how to (or might be able to) help me would be appreciated. Thanks for reading this far.

🔗High-Quality 9mm Snap Caps for Firearm Training

As a gun enthusiast, I've found these Deluxe Snap Caps to be an invaluable addition to my training routine. The product's bright colors and distinct feel make it easy to differentiate from live ammunition, keeping my live rounds safely stored and helping me avoid any mix-ups during practice. The spring-loaded "primers" of these dummy rounds provide a soft landing for the firing pin, reducing the risk of damage to essential components.
While they may not perfectly mimic the weight and balance of live rounds, they're still a reliable choice for function testing and dry fire practice. Overall, I highly recommend these Deluxe Snap Caps for firearm enthusiasts looking to train safely and efficiently.

🔗Gold Standard Snap Cap Kit for Vehicles

I recently had the chance to try out the Standard Snap Cap in gold for a DIY project. This hardware kit comes with all the necessary stainless steel screws that made my vehicle upgrade a breeze.
The snap caps, in particular, were a game-changer in keeping my new frame or plate looking pristine. Overall, it's a convenient and reliable addition to any home improvement toolbox.
Even though there might be some minor drawbacks, overall it's a worthwhile investment.

🔗4-Pellet Box Roll Caps: 1000 Action Shots for Cap Guns

https://preview.redd.it/lfibhampfa3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6d3db0fc46837a7cd9a215d797a64dd83d0a7a39
I recently came across Parris Roll Caps, the ultimate action shots for your cap gun enthusiasts! With a pack of 4 boxes, totaling 1000 caps, the excitement never stops. These Roll Caps fit perfectly with other cap gun accessories such as the Double Holster Set or Western Girl Revolver.
In my experience with the Roll Caps, I appreciate their ability to produce a decent pop, unlike some of the disappointing duds I've encountered in the past. Additionally, the compact packaging is handy when you need to restock on caps.
However, the only downside I encountered with the Roll Caps is that the paper thickness and dimensions are slightly different from the old school caps of my childhood. This resulted in compatibility issues with my cap gun. Nonetheless, my grandchildren were still thrilled to use these Roll Caps, experiencing a blast from the past in their cap gun adventures. All in all, they have been a great addition to our cap gun collection, providing hours of fun for the young and old alike.

🔗Nickel Military Star Line 24 Snap Caps

I recently tried this Stecksstore Military Star Line snap cap, and I must say, it's an impressive piece of accessory. It's perfect for adding a touch of military-inspired style to any outfit or accessory.
The nickel finish is a highlight, giving it a classy and antique look. However, it's a bit smaller than I expected, measuring at 7/8 inches in diameter, but that's no deal breaker.
To my delight, the packaging came complete with a size 24 eyelet, socket, and stud, making it versatile for use on a variety of clothing and gear items. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase, and it'll surely add a unique look to my outfit when I wear it - or for that matter, any outfit.

🔗Police Support Police Mourning Snap Cap in Nickel

I recently had the pleasure of using Stecksstore's Police Support Pin Line 24 Snap Cap, and let me tell you, it was a game-changer. The nickel finish added a touch of sophistication, and the size was perfect for my needs. However, one downside was that I didn't receive exactly the same number of pins as advertised in the package.

A few weeks ago, I had the chance to give the Marpac Snap Caps a try in my daily life. The 6 and 8 black snap caps fit perfectly on the screws of a project I was working on.
The first thing that stood out to me was how smoothly the Snap Caps clicked into place. It felt like a satisfying click every time I inserted them, which gave me a sense of security knowing they were fully secured. After a couple of attempts, I found it quite easy to remove the Snap Caps as well – just a simple twist and they popped right off.
One downside I found was that the Snap Caps sometimes got a bit stubborn, especially when it came to inserting them. It took a bit more force than I would have liked, which caused the screws to slip slightly. However, once they were in, they stayed there no problem.
Overall, I found the Marpac Snap Caps to be a solid addition to any toolkit. It might not have been perfect, but the pros definitely outweighed the cons, making it a worthwhile investment.

🔗Killer Instinct Lumix Speedring Crossbow Scope: Improved Targeting for Hunting

https://preview.redd.it/pejxzkurea3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=39d69d95ea8bc434d5a7c66d99ba114b2ae59a45
Using the Killer Instinct MSCKI-1020 Lumix Speedring 1.5 to 5 x 32 IR-E Crossbow Scope has been quite an experience. The scope has made hunting much more enjoyable for me, thanks to its amazing abilities to lock onto and track moving targets from vast distances.
One of the features that really stood out is the durability of the metal case. This thing has a real tank-like feel to it, resisting impacts and harsh weather as if it was made for it. The spring-loaded covers on the lenses also proved to be quite reliable, keeping the lenses safe and scratchless until I was ready to hunt.
The built-in Speed Ring is another aspect of the scope that has impressed me. Making adjustments for my crossbow's speed has been a breeze, and the illuminated reticle is a big help when it comes to sighting in low-light conditions. I particularly appreciate the contrast the red/blue illumination provides.
However, there was one downside that I found a little disturbing. The scope came in a condition that made it apparent that someone had used it before. I was not happy with this fact, especially considering I had paid for a brand new product.
Overall, the MSCKI-1020 Lumix Speedring 1.5 to 5 x 32 IR-E Crossbow Scope is a product that I would recommend, even with its minor fault. It certainly helped me become a better hunter, and it would do the same for anyone looking to enhance their hunting experience.

🔗Killer Instinct Lumix 4x32 Black Ir-E Crossbow Scope with LED Illumination

https://preview.redd.it/xo2p4cbsea3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7dc8d4a6f97ab8271097530a44fb938137854f3f

I recently had the opportunity to try out the Killer Instinct Lumix 4x32 Ir-E Crossbow Scope. This black 1021 model was a great addition to my hunting gear, providing exceptional clarity thanks to its multicoated optics and 1-inch mono tube construction. The fast focus eyepiece is a game-changer, allowing me to quickly adjust my sight even when on the move.
One feature that stood out was the illuminated cross-hair reticle, which came in both blue and red. It was perfect for low-light situations, making it easier for me to spot my target. I appreciated the adjustment click value of 0.5 inches at 100 yards, as it gave me accurate and consistent shot adjustments.
However, there were a few downsides to this otherwise great scope. The exit pupil was smaller than I would have liked, making it a bit more challenging to see the cross-hair reticle at times. Additionally, the scope's weight was lighter than expected, which might not have been ideal for everyone.
Overall, I'm happy with my experience using the Killer Instinct Lumix 4x32 Ir-E Crossbow Scope. It's a quality product with some small drawbacks, but its pros certainly outweigh the cons. If you're in the market for a reliable crossbow scope, this one is definitely worth considering.

🔗High-Quality 25-75x70 Spotting Scope with Phone Adapter

In my pursuit of a new spotting scope that could enhance my wildlife viewing and target shooting experiences, I stumbled upon the SVBONY SV28 Spotting Scopes. From the moment I opened the package, I was impressed by its sleek exterior and sturdy construction.
One feature that stood out to me was its range of magnification capabilities - the SV28 allowed me to adjust the magnification according to my target distance, providing crystal clear image quality. The lens was exceptionally sharp, making it perfect for both target shooting and observing nature. Another aspect I appreciated was the ease of focus adjustment, ensuring that every detail was visible no matter the distance.
However, I have to say that the tripod that came with the unit seemed a bit lackluster compared to my usual tripod. I ended up using my own sturdier tripod, but it was still nice to have the option included in the package. Additionally, while the phone adapter was a nice addition, I felt it could have been more user-friendly.
Overall, the SVBONY SV28 Spotting Scopes exceeded my expectations, offering outstanding clarity and exceptional value for its price. Though there were a few minor quibbles, I would definitely recommend it to others in search of a reliable, affordable spotting scope for their outdoor adventures.

In the world of optics, the Athlon Optics Ares G2 UHD 20-60x85 Straight Spotting Scope has made a name for itself. Its ESP Dielectric Coating gives you an advantage in viewing with an image that has little or no chromatic fringe for the clearest and sharpest image. The UHD Glass in the lens helps in converging refracting colors into one focus point, producing greater contrast, sharpness, and color definition.

And when it comes to durability, the scope doesn't disappoint. It comes with an extra protective layer coating that keeps the exterior of the lens free from dirt and scratches. It's also Argon Purged and Waterproof, ensuring weatherproof performance even in harsh conditions. Purging allows for better waterproofing/fogging, making sure your scope doesn't fog up when you switch environments.
Overall, it's a joy to use this spotting scope. It's not just about viewing in high detail but also the ease it offers in using it. You won't be disappointed with its performance and features.

However, one aspect that could have been improved was the tripod, which felt a bit flimsy. But thankfully, I was able to replace it with a more robust one as per my preference.
Despite its minor drawbacks, the Athlon Talos Spotting Scope has been a reliable companion on my hunting expeditions. As someone who's enjoyed using the Barska 8x22 Waterproof Blueline Golf Scope, I can say it has been a handy tool on the golf course. With its crystal clear perspective, I've appreciated the ease of gauging distance between the ball and the pin. However, I must note that accuracy can be a bit challenging if the flagstaff is partially obstructed, often requiring some strategic alignment and calculation.

I've received compliments from fellow golf enthusiasts for the neat leatherette pouch that accompanies it. It's been a compact yet practical companion on the course, slipping easily into my golf bag.

I recently had the chance to use the Celestron TrailSeeker 100 spotting scope, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations. As a birdwatcher, I was looking for a reliable and affordable option to enhance my viewing experience, and the TrailSeeker provided just that.
One of the standout features of this spotting scope is the versatile 22-67x zoom eyepiece. It allowed me to explore everything from wide landscapes to the tiniest details, giving me a full range of possibilities. The image quality was exceptional, with the Celestron's proprietary XLT fully multi-coated optics delivering crisp, high-contrast images.
The rotating tripod mount was another highlight, as it enabled me to adjust the scope's position effortlessly and catch the perfect shot. Its 360-degree rotation provided unparalleled flexibility, allowing me to enjoy the view from any angle.
However, there were a couple of aspects that could have been improved. The focus mechanism, while functional, could have been smoother, and the carrying case could have been more durable.
Overall, the Celestron TrailSeeker 100 spotting scope was a great addition to my birdwatching kit, offering an impressive range of features without breaking the bank.

🔗Sky-Watcher Maksutov-Cassegrain 102mm Telescope - Ideal for Planetary Observation

https://preview.redd.it/irfik4wxea3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3c0f73a49a7b9f75035728e5d3d4fdc985e87bef
I recently had the chance to use the Sky-Watcher Maksutov-Cassegrain 102mm Telescope, and I must say, it did not disappoint. This telescope was a breeze to set up and use, thanks to its lightweight design and user-friendly features.
One of the standout features of this telescope is its fully multi-coated optics, which made for some truly stunning views of the night sky. The 102mm aperture size allowed me to observe celestial objects like stars, galaxies, and clusters with remarkable clarity and detail.
While setting up the telescope, I found the Vixen-style dovetail plate to be a nice touch, making it easy to attach the scope to a variety of mounts. The included 1.25" visual back also came in handy when swapping out eyepieces for different levels of magnification.
However, there were a couple of drawbacks I encountered during my experience with the Maksutov-Cassegrain 102mm Telescope. Firstly, the narrower field of view when compared to similar Schmidt models took some getting used to. Additionally, the telescope required regular collimation, which could be a minor inconvenience for some users.
In conclusion, the Sky-Watcher Maksutov-Cassegrain 102mm Telescope is an excellent choice for those looking to explore the night sky in detail. Its portable design and exceptional optical quality make it an ideal grab-and-go option for stargazers of all skill levels. Though the narrower field of view and occasional collimation may be minor drawbacks, the overall experience was undeniably rewarding.

Buyer's Guide

The 22 Scope is a popular choice for shooters, hunters, and target enthusiasts due to its accuracy, reliability, and versatility. Before making a purchase, it's essential to consider various factors, such as caliber, barrel length, and cost. This buyer's guide will help you make an informed decision and get the most out of your 22 Scope.

Caliber

https://preview.redd.it/n7ccc48yea3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=937243e0940e3e26c4fea42099a615b67042b9c9
The most common caliber for 22 Scope is the. 22 Long Rifle (LR). However, there are other options like the. 22 Magnum (Maj) and. 22 WMR (Winchester Rimfire). When choosing a caliber, consider factors such as recoil, velocity, and bullet type. The. 22 LR has the least recoil and is suitable for beginners or those who prefer a more gentle firing experience. The. 22 Magnum offers greater velocity and energy, making it ideal for hunting or long-range shooting.

Barrel Length

The 22 Scope barrel length can range from 16 inches to 26 inches. The shorter barrels offer more maneuverability, especially in tight spaces or for use in a defensive setting. Longer barrels provide increased accuracy and velocity. For hunting or target shooting, a 20-22 inches barrel is generally recommended, providing a good balance between accuracy, velocity, and maneuverability.

Action

The action of a 22 Scope can be bolt-action, semi-automatic, or pump-action. Bolt-action rifles offer a reliable, easy-to-use mechanism and are suitable for hunting or target shooting. Semi-automatic rifles provide faster follow-up shots, making them a popular choice for competitive shooting or hunting where a rapid shot sequence is desired. Pump-action rifles are also known for their reliability and quick follow-up shots, often preferred for self-defense purposes.

Other Features to Consider

  • Stock material and design
  • Sight options (such as iron sights, open sights, or scopes)
  • Trigger pull weight
  • Safety features
  • Finish and overall build quality

Maintenance and Storage

Regularly maintaining and storing your 22 Scope can extend its lifespan and ensure reliable performance. After each shooting session, clean the rifle thoroughly, checking for any damage or wear. Store the rifle in a secure, dry place away from extreme temperature or humidity fluctuations. Regular cleaning and proper storage help maintain accuracy and prevent corrosion.
The 22 Scope is a versatile and reliable choice for various shooting activities. By considering factors such as caliber, barrel length, and action, you can select the best 22 Scope for your specific needs. Always prioritize safety and accuracy, and with proper maintenance, your 22 Scope will provide reliable and enjoyable shooting experiences for years to come.

FAQ

What is a 22 scope and how does it differ from other scopes?

A 22 scope is a type of rifle scope designed specifically for use with. 22 rimfire rifles. It offers a more compact and lightweight design compared to traditional scopes, making it ideal for hunters and target shooters who prefer a lighter rifle setup. Its smaller size and weight also make it a popular choice for beginners and recreational shooters.

What are the key features of a 22 scope?

  • Adjustable objective lens for focus and clarity
  • Variable or fixed magnification options
  • Rugged construction for durability and weather resistance
  • Parallax correction for accurate long-range shooting
  • Low-power options for close-range shooting and hunting

https://preview.redd.it/tqqgohf0fa3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7bac65cd2aa7803b7bdb66c241155a8fb984845f

What is the best 22 scope for hunting?

The best 22 scope for hunting will depend on your specific needs and preferences. Factors to consider include the scope's magnification range, reticle type, and overall durability and weather resistance. In general, a 22 scope with variable magnification and a reliable reticle such as the Mil-Dot or Duplex is a popular choice among hunters.

What is the best 22 scope for target shooting?

When it comes to target shooting, a fixed-power 22 scope with a higher magnification range (such as 4X or 6X) can be a great choice. This allows for increased accuracy and precision at extended distances. Additionally, a scope with a mil-dot or BDC reticle can be helpful for making accurate distance calculations.

How much does a good 22 scope cost?

The cost of a 22 scope can vary depending on the brand, features, and quality of the scope. On average, a good quality 22 scope can range from $200 to $500. However, there are affordable options available for those on a budget, as well as more expensive models for serious hunters and shooters.

Can I use a 22 scope with other types of rifles?

While a 22 scope is designed for use with. 22 rimfire rifles, it can potentially be adapted for use with other rifle types by changing the mounting system or installing an appropriate adapter. However, this may not always provide the best performance or accuracy, so it is generally recommended to use a scope specifically designed for the rifle you are using.

What are the most popular brands of 22 scopes?

  • Leupold
  • Nikon
  • Vortex Optics
  • Bushnell
  • Burris

2024.05.29 05:38 saladbar479 Slowly but steadily beginning to grasp how I feel while enduring the discomfort

I have no formal diagnosis yet, but considering how the subject of OCD-like symptoms have been popping up more and more in conversations with my therapist, maybe me checking that out would be on the horizon. This has been a part of my life for six years now, starting with me making sure the faucets and lights would be off before leaving a room. Very subtle, no danger attached to the impulses if they were unchecked or anything. It was a conscious alteration to my standard routine, but I did not mind it.
Now I'm 18 with many other stressors in my life with big changes coming after this summer. Physically losing touch with my friends as we go to different colleges, gaining independence away from home. My symptoms have been at an all-time high the last few months, and this last week has been particularly bad. I check outlets and light switches, ensuring that the latter are always in the off position, as I actively fear house fires consuming everything while I'm at school. Before going to bed I must check that the front door is locked.
That front door is the death of me. I check if both the top and bottom locks are locked, will go back upstairs to my room, only to repeat the process minutes later. What if I was somehow wrong and seeing things? It could definitely be unlocked. What if I had actually *un*locked it, despite that going against my whole prerogative of checking? Someone could break into my house, and that danger I've associated with the impulse has made it so difficult to beat.
The silver lining to all this is that I'm actually identifying how it makes me feel. I've had times where I ignore the impulses, but at the same time the stress associated with all this is higher than it's ever been before. I find it so hard to just step away, but that's what I'm doing right now while writing all this. It comes and goes in waves, I guess.

2024.05.29 05:29 platniumblondecouyon Senville Mini Split Broke Immediately

Here’s the backstory: New construction house with two bedroom mini-splits one one unit (maybe 5 days old) both not blowing cold air. When first installed both units were CRANKING. I mean coils were reading 45-50 degrees when they were set on 75. Spare bedroom unit tapped out next day and come to find out had a leak in coolant. So the outside unit was shut off and the line was fixed - everything was going fine. About a day later both units stopped blowing cold air. And the outside unit compressor won’t turn on.
Per Senville we tried the “turn off and back on” to try and see if it was a safety cut off. Then we tried to turn it off and back on to read the code but guess what? No error code showed up.
We are running window units and about 30 seconds from just buying new splits and dealing with senville disputes later. So literally open to any suggestions or explanations. Are we totally screwed or are we going to laugh at how easy the fix is?

2024.05.29 05:27 realwolfpack Do I legally own the fence included in my Property Agreement? (UT)

Utah. I recently bought a parcel of land. The land that I bought and the land next to it do not have a fence separating them. HOWEVER, there is a fence that runs around the perimeter of both of our properties (so it looks like it is one property from the onlooker). When I purchased my land, the seller said that I could have the fence that runs the perimeter(they originally bought the fencing and installed it around the perimeter) and put it down the property line, separating the two properties.
In the contract of the sale, it is stated that with buying the land I am also buying the fence that runs around the perimeter of the neighboring land (stating the specific parcel number).
Now that the sale is final, I would like to collect the fence and run it down my property line and separate the two pieces. It is my belief that the fence is now legally mine, even though it is not on my property, am I correct? What do I need to do to collect the fence?
Again, the seller of the land I bought, paid for and installed the fence that runs the perimeter, HOWEVER, he does not own the neighboring land.

2024.05.29 05:26 Adventurous-Arm9817 Need Advice: Horrid living conditions, just had a baby, want to withhold rent to save to move asap.

Okay, so I’ll start by saying- DO NOT view an apartment at night while the unit is only half way renovated, unless you’re in desperate times like me (24) and my bf (27)were back in November. (We have since added our daughter to our family as of late march)
We fell for a scam rental unit that is the has some of the most hazardous, dangerous and disgusting living conditions I have seen/ heard of for a legal rental unit (i say legal lightly). My partner and I have bad credit after using all credit cards and lines of credit possible to get his grandma into a home after I could not longer meet her needs as her psw. Our credit scores are around 589-600 right now. We payed 3 months in advance to get approval for this unit (1450+ utilities) which is less then 300 sq ft in London ont.
This is embarrassing but urgent I find a way out of here for my babies health.
When I came on move in day to collect the keys, it looked like a bunch of crack heads broke in and spent a few nights in the unit. There was no bedroom door (had a hole kicked in it apparently), no fridge and no stove(was a grease fire apparently) huge punched holes in the walls, throwing knife holes, a leaking ceiling (it was raining) no breaker box panel, no toilet handle or seat, a broken window and crazy crack head jibberish written on the walls. I asked the property manager what the heck is going on and if he’s going to fix anything- he said no, and left down the stairs. We have since fixed up the place out of pocket to make it livable because we spent over 4K in the application process to get approved. They refused to fix anything, and we had no money to move. We had made the unit livable and as I got closer to my due date I had complications and my bf needed to stop working to be here for me and our baby- eating into our savings.
Since the weather has changed, the building absolutely smells of horrid mold and mildew, we’ve seen rats the size of small dogs. In the hallway out side of our unit and by the buildings garbage, our outlets spark when it rains bc of water leaks, we hear the rats scratching in all our walls, the AC doesn’t work and the landlord gave us a black mold infested unit. That made us all very sick. I have allergies to mold and have a rash all over my body all of us have respiratory issues from the rat smell and mold( we see the doc on thurs) I could go on and on- but I just need to know-
If I withhold rent to quickly save what we need to move- what kind of long term consequences will I have. I think it’ll be worth it. Two three months tops and we are out of here and safe. We’ve tried everything we can to get the property manager and landlord to address these issues and they won’t. We’ve documented everything, we don’t want to go through the LtB and would rather move asap.
Is this the best plan I can have for this situation??

KLR story time! This is lengthy war story so TLDR months ago I posted having found something in oil screen, soon after engine blew , I replaced the motor and have just now opened the old one and have confirmed that it was a piston circlip from previous owners big bore kit
As title says, This isnt a cautionary tale so much as a war story for the sake of it and to add to the wealth of knowledge on these bikes a story of… a curious thing that happened. XD That’s to say this isn’t a thing many will ever encounter, nor something one should ever worry about, but something that might make you say “hmm… neat” 😂
That being said this is a story of how I killed the unkillable, or I guess at least gave a KLR a heart transplant after complete cardiac arrest. The interesting journey of what happened, but I do not truly know how. So maybe some more seasoned KLR surgeons can offer additional insight into the how. I had considered breaking this up into the story and just the mechanical aspects for those not interested in the story, but the motivation here is the story and so that’s the read, enjoy 😀
About 8 months ago I bought a ‘09 KLR as my first bike. I’m an over the road truck driver and have always dreamed of putting a motorcycle on my rig, and decided at a fork in my life that it was time. It had 28k miles on it, amazing shape, very few mods, all ones that I considered valuable as I would have done them myself. Crash bars, metal skid plate, panniers with very nice Givi cases, Sargent seat, etc. The curious bit was a big bore up to 683. I did not ask what mileage it had been bored at or if it was done for maintenance reasons or just performance. In retrospect I would have asked these questions but that’s out of curiosity not because I believe to any degree the seller was misleading me. I do not believe they had any idea the events that followed would conspire and I accept them as just bad luck. What did follow is in the first 3 weeks I put nearly 900 miles on it and had only encountered a single issue which was the clutch slipping too easily under heavy acceleration. As one does with a KLR I had already ordered and done a slew of other personalization so I added new clutch plates and heavier springs to the list. Job went smoothly, the old clutch plates were worn but not to any degree that alone would warrant the slipping so the weak springs were the culprit as my research had strongly suggested. But new “performance” clutch plates sounded fun so I installed them as well 😀
This is where things get interesting. As some may know, on the right side of the engine there is an oil screen, a fine metal mesh that acts as a filter to catch larger particles. Definitely something to clean if you’re ever in there, as it’ll tend to have any gasket material and other manufacturing run off in it that over time could choke oil flow. In mine I found the expected gasket gunk, suggesting it had not been cleaned since birth but frighteningly I also found 2 mysterious metal pieces that appeared to be the greater part of a metal ring. Reference the 1st photo. They had been chewed up slightly suggesting they made their way through the engine less than smoothly but not catastrophically obviously as the motor ran fine with no signs of any problems. I spent the better part of the day digging through any and every resource I could find for an answer on what this ring could be and the further I dug the more and more confident I grew in my initial suspicions that it was a piston circlip… but this just didn’t make sense, how did it get there? How was it not more destroyed? How was the engine still running with zero indication of damage? The sun was setting and I had to be on the road in the morning so after weighing all the possibilities I decided to button it back up, hope for the best, and tell myself if it was fine before it’s fine now. As the alternative was tearing apart the engine which meant going back out on the road with no bike, and no idea where to even start weeks later when I returned. Of the many theories the one I convinced myself of was that this was indeed a piston circlip but not one from the current piston but from the original one. That the mechanic that had done the big bore had either snapped it when removing the original piston and it fell down in the engine to never be fished out, or maybe it had been the reason for the bore. 2 days later I get it out for the first time since the quick 5 mile test ride after putting it back together and my theory is proven wrong, violently. About 80 miles later I was enjoying the bite of the new clutch, accelerating hard through 50mph and bam instantly the rear wheel locks up. At this point I had just under 1000 miles under my belt on two wheels, no MSF completely self taught…. Holy shiet that was a bad thing nearly gone horrible. I don’t know how I had the muscle memory at that point to instinctively grab the clutch but I did fractions of a second before I went down, hard. As I coasted to a stop on what little shoulder there was my thoughts were “holyshitholyshitholyshitholyshit….Ohhhhhhhhh it was a piston circlip” before I even stopped 😂😂😂 Sure enough I look back to a trail of oil behind me, dismount and out of the front of the block I see a very displeased connnecting rod peeking out. Well, there’s your problem. I took a gamble and initially I was feeling like I had lost, but after not getting taken out with the engine, I was pretty okay with the situation. I rolled the bike into a church parking lot a couple blocks down the road and helplessly called for ride after ride on Uber to no avail. I was states away from anyone I knew and too far from any civilization to find luck with any ride share or cab service. As it started to get dark the 6 mile hike back to my truck in Mx Boots was not a great outlook but I was out of options. Just as I had buttoned up what I could on the bike getting ready to start walking I noticed an older couple sit down on their porch enjoying what was, to anyone else, admittedly a very pleasant evening. I’m shy as hell and absolutely terrified of being imposing, especially when it’s a true need… but these boots were brand new, zero flex, damn near knee high… just from standing there I was on the fence of what would be worse, boots or socks. So I mustered up the will power to make my way to their front yard and explain that my motorcycle had broken down and that I had no way to get back to my truck to come back and get it, if they’d be willing to give me a ride I’d happily pay for the trouble. They happily obliged and were the nicest folks you could have met, asked me about my travels and wished me luck in getting it back together, wouldn’t even accept my money. They drop me off, I get my rig back over there and load up the bike. They waved me off from their porch and that was that. I know that bit doesn’t pertain to the mechanical endeavor but I wanted to share it as well as an appreciation of just how much generosity can change the outlook in things. I had bought this bike at a critical moment in my life, during a separation, unsure what direction I was going, and it by all means was my coping mechanism. Sitting there stranded, the adrenaline started to wear off and the dread and hopelessness started to develop… the 6 mile walk back, nothing by my thoughts torturing myself for the dumb decisions I made would have left me feeling defeated and lost. But instead I got to share a tiny bit of my story, that it was still chaos but I was… proud of myself for chasing after my dreams not letting it consume me. And it was because of that moment of pride that I had the fuel to tuck tail and accept my circumstance, that I had indeed known this was a possibility and that it was not the end of my journey, just a different path. I believe without that I would have easily accepted the loss and dropped the bike off at home to gather dust and that would have been the end of my motorcycling experience. But I was determined. So I spent every minute of free time I had researching what I needed to rebuild it, what it’d cost, how hard it’d be, and if it was even something I could do over the road. As I added things up it was indeed doable but it’d leave the bike out of commission at best for well over a month… and I had a fire under me to get back on it… so I started digging through marketplace, eBay, Craigslist, etc searching for doner bikes or full engines. Scrounging up every penny I had, I booked a load and made my way all the way to Kansas City where I had found a salvager with a 2009 with just 1300 miles on it that was willing to take $1300 for the whole engine if I’d help him pull it. My determination was unwavering. I showed up at his house as early as I could after my delivery, about noon. My semi truck left on the street where it clearly did not belong 😂 It was a two lane and the right lane was conveniently closed, so I moved some cones and it worked out perfectly but was still a funny sight. He gathered bikes from auctions and had them scattered around his yard, and so while he gathered some stuff he pointed me to two other KLRs to see if there was anything I wanted from them. Ended up pulling a full yoshimura exhaust from one that he tossed in for cheap. Before I had gotten there he had already stripped the most of the bike with the doner engine down so it took us a little under an hour to pull it. Yet another really positive experience that I’ll never forget, really nice older guy who genuinely enjoyed wrenching on the bike with me, not just trying to get it done and get paid. Offered me any small bits like the rubber tank picks that would easily get lost for no charge. And even gave me an old Milwaukee battery charger he had laying around as I had lost my charger at some point and my last battery died while we were working on it. We had it out by 2pm and I heaved the enormous hunk of steel into my chest high passenger floor board of my semi truck to be on my way. And by on my way I mean 7 miles away to a Walmart parking lot where I then unloaded my bike and started the transplant. I gathered my tools while waiting for a Milwaukee battery to charge, caught my breath, and started the operation around 3pm. I was definitely a bit of a spectacle. Not everyday you see someone doing an engine swap in a Walmart parking lot. The semi truck parked alongside definitely added a layer that invoked enough curiosity for people to inquire about what they were looking at as they passed by. I enjoyed the conversation and that sense of pride grew ever stronger as I worked through it. Early on in the process another rider had briefly stopped by and asked if I needed help, I declined understanding he was inquiring if it was an emergency not if I needed a wrenching buddy haha. Over the course of the next 4 hours he passed by another 2 times, giving a nod of approval at my progress. I was fired up. So excited to get it all done, feeling like I’d be too tired to do anything else but driven just to know it was ready to ride whenever I was. All and all it took about 5 hours to get done, a few stuck bolts there, a few how the hell does this come out there, and a good bit of how does one finagle this thing back in here by themselves(ps lay it on its side right side and just set the engine down into the frame, stand up and then align it) and it was done. I had done some mechanical work on cars and what not in the past but honestly changing the clutch on the previous motor was the most invasive thing I had done prior to this. But my confidence was in the clouds, and rightfully so, because while it took some convincing with the starter this stagnant motor awoke with not a cough or a sputter, but with an immediate healthy growl! My excitement was immeasurable and my little KLR, now much more aggressively singing through the Yoshimura exhaust, seemed just as excited as me. The sun had set, I was exhausted and against my recommendation they had already booked me a load picking up early the next morning. But I couldn’t not sing through the streets with joy, so a quick ride I told myself…. I was gone for hours, returning well past midnight. Ripping around Kansas City, sobbing with joy, with what felt like the loudest exhaust I’d ever heard 😂😂😂 A true menace, she was alive and god damnit I was too.
Exhaustion catching up with me I loaded my precious back on to the truck and realized I still had an entire engine to deal with. So I opened one of my side bins, at chest height just as the floor board was earlier in the day loading the new engine. If I didn’t look like a maniac riding around I certainly did trying to get that motor up and into the truck 😂 I was too happy to be upset or anything but it was just about all I could muster to get it up to that height after the day I had had. 2am and I’m screaming, crying, and laughing simultaneously as I blew out every single part of my body trying to get this absolute brick of an engine into the side bin. While I know at that point I was significantly more worn out I still find it very funny that my sheer will power made that new engine effortless to lift into the truck, but the old one was an inch shy of being impossible 😂 Over 7000 miles later and that new motor is still singing happily ❤️
So… the old motor… it rode around in my side bin for 7 months till last week I was at home and finally had the free time to unload it and crack it open. Motivated by the interest of pulling the new clutch plates and springs I had put in it that’d only have about 80 miles on them, and the curiosity of figuring out if the seemingly obvious cause for its demise was indeed due to the piston circlip… breaking? This is where any KLR surgeons may be able to chime in, if they made it this far xD Because I pulled the motor down to just about as many pieces as one could so I could take the bits that may be useful to have on the road with me and have the less likely to fail ones ready to go if I needed them at home, and all of the evidence seems to suggest that one of the circlips did indeed get ingested. The piston is definitely missing one of the circlips, and… the entire part that would house it lol. The broken pieces found in the oil screen visually match the remaining circlip, and I never found any parts of the circlip if those pieces in the oil screen were not it. So… I have full confidence the circlip did indeed end up in the oil screen. The fact that I found it was complete coincidence and had I not changed the clutch out it likely would have failed just as it did, meaning that circlip could have been there for… lord knows how long… which raises the questions, how did that happen? How long could it have feasibly been there? And was this just a ticking time bomb bound to happen without warning at any time or did maybe the stress of a more aggressive clutch bite upset it? And also just… how does this happen in the first place? Improper install or weak components? I know the kit they used is from Schnitz Racing and I was told 683 but I’ve never seen a 683 kit, only 685 so I would assume maybe that, regardless not cheap parts so, just a curiosity.
Final notes, the new engine with 27k less miles absolutely feels more powerful than the bored out one did, that’s seat of the pants and inexperienced rider mixed with intense emotions but I still to this day think it’s more peppy. Have not installed the new clutch on the new motor yet but I’m curious as hell as I don’t think I had enough experience to really appreciate the difference for the 80 miles I got to use it lol.
Oh and as a trinket to remember this entire experience and to show my KLR is on its second heart I polished up the blown piston and hung it on the tail ❤️
Thank you for coming to my TED talk, stay safe out there!

2024.05.29 05:24 Free_Advantage_8595 Vision language model quantization and performance with LMDeploy

Vision language model quantization and performance with LMDeploy
Starting from version v0.4.2, LMDeploy supports 4-bit quantization and deployment of VL models, including:
  • llava
  • internvl
  • internlm-xcomposer2
  • qwen-vl
  • deepseek-vl
  • minigemini
  • yi-vl
These models use the llama structure as the language module except internlm-xcomposer2, while each has a different visual module. LMDeploy uses the AWQ algorithm to quantize the language module and accelerates it with the TurboMind engine, while the visual part still uses the original transformers to encode images. The language module of the internlm-xcomposer2 model has been fine-tuned with Plora on the original llama model. When quantizing, LMDeploy skips the weights of the Plora part, and Plora remains w16a16 calculation during inference. We selected 3 models and compared their accuracy before and after quantization on the MMBench dataset. As shown in the table below, the accuracy of LLaVA and InternVL-Chat is almost unaffected by quantization. InternLM-XComposer2 has a slight loss.
model llava-v1.6-vicuna-7b InternVL-Chat-V1-5 xcomposer2-vl-7b
Average score 55.8 78.8 77.3
Average score (AWQ) 55.3 79.2 74.7
In addition to supporting w4a16 computation, LMDeploy also supports online quantization of the key-value cache. We conducted accuracy tests on different quantization methods of the Mini-InternVL-Chat-2B-V1-5 model using the MMBench dataset.
model w16a16 w4a16 w4a16 kv8 w4a16 kv4
Average score 64.1 62.9 63.1 61.6
It can be observed that even with the most aggressive w4a16 kv4 quantization scheme, the drop in accuracy is still within an acceptable range. Of course, users can choose the necessary quantization configuration based on their actual situation to achieve a balance between GPU memory, throughput, and accuracy. Next, we will use the Mini-InternVL-Chat-2B-V1-5 model as an example to introduce how to deploy VL models smoothly with LMDeploy.

Set env

Install lmdeploy with pip (python 3.8+) or from source.
conda create -n lmdeploy python==3.10 pip install lmdeploy
The default prebuilt package is compiled on CUDA 12. However, if CUDA 11+ is required, you can install lmdeploy by:
export LMDEPLOY_VERSION=0.4.2 export PYTHON_VERSION=310 pip install https://github.com/InternLM/lmdeploy/releases/download/v${LMDEPLOY_VERSION}/lmdeploy-${LMDEPLOY_VERSION}+cu118-cp${PYTHON_VERSION}-cp${PYTHON_VERSION}-manylinux2014_x86_64.whl --extra-index-url https://download.pytorch.org/whl/cu118

Quantization

LMDeploy adopts AWQ algorithm for 4bit weight-only quantization. By developed the high-performance cuda kernel, the 4bit quantized model inference achieves up to 2.4x faster than FP16. LMDeploy supports the following NVIDIA GPU for W4A16 inference:
  • Turing(sm75): 20 series, T4
  • Ampere(sm80,sm86): 30 series, A10, A16, A30, A100
  • Ada Lovelace(sm90): 40 series
Users can quantize a VL model with a single command, taking Mini-InternVL-Chat-2B-V1-5 as an example.
export HF_MODEL=OpenGVLab/Mini-InternVL-Chat-2B-V1-5 export WORK_DIR=Mini-InternVL-Chat-2B-V1-5-4bit lmdeploy lite auto_awq \ $HF_MODEL \ --calib-dataset 'ptb' \ --calib-samples 128 \ --calib-seqlen 2048 \ --w-bits 4 \ --w-group-size 128 \ --batch-size 1 \ --search-scale False \ --work-dir $WORK_DIR
Please note that LMDeploy’s quantization process involves quantizing the Llama model layer by layer, with each layer being loaded from the CPU to the GPU before quantization and then unloaded back to the CPU after quantization. This approach reduces the GPU memory pressure during the quantization process. Additionally, each layer is quantized in batches of --batch-size, which further decreases GPU memory usage. However, this also means that the quantization process will take longer. If the GPU memory is sufficient, you can set a larger --batch-size to speed up the process. Finally, if the accuracy of the quantized model does not meet expectations, you can enable --search-scale for further refinement. If this option is not enabled, the quantization process will default to a smooth quantization approach.

Pipeline

LMDeploy abstracts the complex inference process of Visual-Language Models (VLMs) into a simple and user-friendly pipeline. Its usage is similar to the inference pipeline of Large Language Models (LLMs).
from lmdeploy import pipeline from lmdeploy.messages import TurbomindEngineConfig from lmdeploy.vl import load_image model = 'Mini-InternVL-Chat-2B-V1-5-4bit' image = load_image('https://raw.githubusercontent.com/open-mmlab/mmdeploy/main/tests/data/tiger.jpeg') backend_config = TurbomindEngineConfig(model_format='awq') pipe = pipeline(model, backend_config=backend_config, log_level='INFO') response = pipe(('describe this image', image)) print(response)
In the example above, using our quantized Mini-InternVL-Chat-2B-V1-5-4bit model, you can see that the model successfully recognized the tiger in the image and provided a description. For users with multi-GPU machines who wish to make more efficient use of their hardware resources, they can refer to the following example to utilize tensor parallelism.
from lmdeploy import pipeline from lmdeploy.messages import TurbomindEngineConfig from lmdeploy.vl import load_image model = 'Mini-InternVL-Chat-2B-V1-5-4bit' image = load_image('https://raw.githubusercontent.com/open-mmlab/mmdeploy/main/tests/data/tiger.jpeg') backend_config = TurbomindEngineConfig(model_format='awq', tp=2) pipe = pipeline(model, backend_config=backend_config, log_level='INFO') response = pipe(('describe this image', image)) print(response)
Both the language model and the visual model will be evenly distributed across the two GPUs for inference. For more usage examples of the pipeline, you can refer to the LMDeploy documentation.

Serving

Use the LMDeploy CLI tool to start the VL model service with a single command:
lmdeploy serve api_server Mini-InternVL-Chat-2B-V1-5-4bit --max-batch-size 256 --vision-max-batch-size 16
Here, --max-batch-size represents the maximum concurrency for the LLM part on the server side, while --vision-max-batch-size is the maximum concurrency for the vision part on the server side. This means that if each client request includes an image, the actual maximum concurrency on the server side will be determined by --vision-max-batch-size. For more tips on deploying services, you can refer to the service documentation provided by LMDeploy.

Benchmark

The following figure illustrates the actual token generation rate per second for a deployed Mini-InternVL-Chat-2B-V1-5 quantized model on an A100-SMX4-80G graphics card. Each request in the graph includes an image with a resolution of 512*512.
https://preview.redd.it/xrdrrnvw9a3d1.png?width=1852&format=png&auto=webp&s=9965e08c1bc2dad5534f1ce4e5f0ceccf39c1860
The graph above shows that after a concurrency level of 16, the throughput (out tokens/s) of the model increases at a slower rate. Additionally, as the concurrency continues to rise, the latency for the first token increases sharply. This is because the batch size for the vision model inference is set to 16 when the service starts. When the number of concurrent requests exceeds this number, subsequent requests have to wait for the earlier requests to be processed before they can be handled. Therefore, users need to allocate appropriate values for the --max-batch-size and --vision-max-batch-size parameters based on their actual usage scenarios. Moreover, we used the same method to test the throughput of the model before and after quantization. The comparison results are illustrated in the following graph:
https://preview.redd.it/j8v13t3u9a3d1.png?width=2143&format=png&auto=webp&s=3f840cf2515ab471f813a7cc7a8f72997e0bc4b1
The line graph above shows that the quantized model has a higher throughput. Considering the data presented, users might want to consider quantizing their models using the quantization tool before deployment, as this will result in better inference performance for the service.

2024.05.29 05:23 howtodomakeup Deaf tenant here. Who is responsible for paying for the visual fire alarms?

It was an uphill battle but I finally got visual fire alarms installed in my condo unit. But here's the problem. Who is responsible to cover the fees?
before I moved into the condo, I informed both the realtors and landlords that I need strobes (aka visual fire alarms) installed in the condo unit as I don't wear hearing aids to sleep. They are all aware.
When I moved in, it wasn't even installed. I had to take it upon myself to call different people and finally got the property manager involved. She found someone who was able to install the strobes. This took FOUR months. I was afraid of going to sleep, not knowing if I would be able to survive a fire.
Then I got the invoice. I emailed it to the landlord as I was told that they are responsible for paying. I got an email from the landlord that I should have spoken with them first. They said that they needed to approve and authorize "physical changes" to the unit. As far as I''m concerned, getting visual fire alarms is an accommodation, not just a physical change.
I have email documentation that the landlord was already aware in the beginning. So who is responsible to cover the fees?

2024.05.29 05:22 joe151904 How to fit out datapoints

How to fit out datapoints
Hi all, Im going to ask a dumb question
I’ve posted a few times on this thread now and am tidying up the tail end of my build, so first timing it all!
My builder fired their designated sparky and before he left, he forgot to fit out the data points of the home located in the garage.
Whilst my builder is going through a dispute with the sparky, I’m scratching my head of how to have internet connected at my new home ASAP as I can’t wait.
I’ve already request a service transfer of internet from Optus. However they said that I don’t need a technician as there’s apparently already a line available.
However, I feel like there has to be some sort of NBN utility or connection box installed either on the property or inside the home somewhere (I’m assuming that’s what the data points are for?).
Do I contact a sparky for this, NBN, Optus, my builder? My builder said I need to contact my ISP but they’re not helpful either and currently am going around in circles.

2024.05.29 05:21 ExerciseClassAtTheY Screenshots from S2E01 showing Apokalips and implying Darkseid

I didn't realize no one noticed this until I saw the thread asking about Darkseid and Doomsday. But during the first episode when Jor-el is explaining to Superman about the Kryptonians, and how they conquered their way across the universe like a disease, until they "found an enemy we could not defeat." Which first shows Apokalips, notable primarily for its fire pits. But then it shows the Brainiac bots being destroyed.
It happens -very- fast but I only know of one "cosmic" thing that works like that, because it did not just shoot the bots, it annihilated them, leaving nothing behind. And so I paused and screenshotted a few times and you can clearly see that the androids were destroyed by Omega Beams, and in case you think it is perhaps a pair of purple flying speedsters, when they destroy the bots, the beams leave Kirby dots behind, which was a real nice touch.
https://imgur.com/a/adventures-with-superman-s2e01-more-things-heaven-earth-MkAUoWK
I don't think he's going to pop up in this season but it is at least worth noting what caused the fall of the Kryptonian Empire.
