My mother raised me on her own, as my father left when I was a baby. I suppose that fact alone has always made me try to judge her less harshly for her poor parenting. She'd fly off the handle for no reason and did everything to keep me away from her during the day if I wasn't in school. When covid hit I was in my first year of university, though online, and living with her. This is where our relationship really began to deteriorate and she became unable to even be in the same room as me without becoming aggravated. My mental health was in the gutter and she only heightened the problem, often saying I didn't have a condition which I inhereted from her and am diagnosed with, because of minute things that only someone with a pop culture knowledge of the condition would think, not someone who has it. She would constantly make comments about me, call them "jokes" and make me out to be "moody" or a "killjoy" when I'd react badly to them. Then restrictions lifted and I was able to move away for university I was relieved, though we still kept in contact, because I was constantly guilt tripped and blamed for simply wanting to pursue my education and treated like I didn't care for my family because I had the audacity to move away.
Each time I go home (extremely infrequent due to these issues), I notice her becoming a more and more hateful person. At first it was her treatment of service staff, which I'd never noticed before. I was raised well mannered by her and was shocked at the way she would speak to them sometimes, though I'd picked up a job in retail in between this time so it may have been heightened awareness. Then it became her views I noticed. She had always been somewhat of an anti-establishment person politically, but she started to skew into a dangerous territory. When we'd disagreed politically in the past there'd always be a discussion, she was anti-abortion until I managed to change her mind, but this was different. First it was vaccines, which she decided caused autism and told me she wished I hadn't been vaccinated (FYI, I don't have autism). Then it became a progressively more staunch opposition to immigration, leaning hard into fearmongering dog whistles about transgender people and queer people in general, and opposition to progression of women's rights and a complete dismissal of what's happening in Palestine.
Look, I'm not here to debate any of these issues with you, but they are all connected to me personally. I was raised by her to not feel any prejudice, she is the reason I have the progressive views that I do, so to see her spout talking points created by the people who want the extermination of myself (who is gay) and the people I care for (queer, immigrants, palestinians, women I all call my close friends) makes me disgusted. There's an election coming up here in June in which the far right seem to be gaining steam and I'm horrified to even ask her what way she is voting. If she supports the people who share the ideologies of those who put people like me and those I care about through camps, and famine and torture the I cannot stand to be around her. I'm aware people may do what she does, which is call these views simply a difference of opinion, but I am not overexaggerating when I say with these people in government I would be dead, and so would those I care about. And although there is no chance right now of these people being in government, the idea that she'd support and bolster them to a position where they could be makes me sick and genuinely feel unable to be around her. Would I be wrong to cut her off? Do I owe it to her to stick by her since she raised me on her own? Idk what to do.
TLDR; My single mother is becoming increasingly right wing to the extent where her beliefs are a threat to myself and those I care about. Do I owe it to her not to cut her off?

I bought an old 14 ft flat bottom that I am fixing up for this upcoming duck season. I’m painting the boat this weekend and was wanting to get the new paint and bottom coat done altogether. Everything online is going to be at least 10 day delivery at least. So instead I’m looking for a store bought alternative to Gator Glide/Super Slick. Something to help smooth out the bottom to decrease drag and avoid getting stuck in the mud.

Hey guys
Back in January got rushed to ER and had an endoscopy, which revealed H Pylori and a very inflamed stomach. Did a (brief) round of antibiotics / PPI, then followed up with mastic gum / natural remedies. Been tested twice since then, both negative for H Pylori (yay).
However, have still had other symptoms in the past few months even after all that (bloating [mostly gone now], flatulence [mostly gone now], really bad chronic fatigue / brain fog [current], floating stools [current], darker urine for weeks now [current], pain in flanks that lasted a few weeks, etc). My GI said I should check for SIBO, so doing a test I bought online (lactulose test from Life Extensions).
I take these supplements at the moment
-Multivitamin
-NAC
-Curcuma
-Broccoli Sprouts Extract
-Betaine HCL
-Digestive Enzymes
-Milk Thistle
-Fish Oil
-Ginger capsules
I had been taking a probiotic, oil of oregano, and Allicin capsules, but stopped those a few days ago.
Which of these other should I stop before the test, and about how many days before hand? The instructions on the test only mention the probiotic and antibiotics. Thanks!

I noticed that all the women seem to have at least their upper arms covered, and sometimes much more. I was curious about the dress code and cultural norms, and tried to find info online. It mostly detailed how the northern part of Nigeria was more heavily Muslim, and there some people wear full hijab and other cultural adaptations of hijab style but with looser Nigerian fabrics. Most of the travel advisories I saw said long dresses with flowing material and modest cuts were appropriate for Nigeria. It said that while casual wear may be OK, shorts should be knee length or longer and in Moslum areas and the coast things like shorts and t-shirts would be frowned upon.
At the women in leadership event , I was surprised to see her and what looked like a red evening gown, whereas the other two presenters on the day we're clearly wearing modest dress past the ankles and have their arms mostly covered (past the elbow for both).
At the Nigeria Unconquered event, all the other women in the photos were long sleeves to the wrist, and gowns to the ankle, and aleo covered their hair. MM wore a strapless column gown
Wt the State Govors House visit in Lagos, she again went completely sleeveless in the yellow Carolina Herrera.
At the Lightway Academy event, it also looked like every other woman there had some sort of sleeves, but MM went sleeveless AND backless....
I have never been to Nigeria, but if I was faking an "official visit" I provably would have read the room and tried to observe the standard of modesty for women that is advertised/ suggested.... but as I have never been to Nigeria myself, perhaps someone with more knowledge than I could shed light on whether this was appropriate attire or not?

 | Hi, This is a long shot but I’m not sure what else I can do at this point. submitted by Orange_Ottsel to Feral_Cats [link] [comments] I’ve been feeding a feral cat for about a year and he recently did not come by for four days. When he finally showed up, I noticed his right eye was injured. First two pics are from Saturday while the last two are from today. I’ve caught him in a gravity trap before but he escaped and won’t go near it anymore. I decided to order a drop trap and transfer cage from Tomahawk but just found out my order won’t ship for 2-3 weeks due to production lead times. Right now I’m feeding him near a crate with a string tied to the door and although he’ll eat near it, he won’t put any part of his body inside. I want to take him to the vet asap and am worried he won’t survive long enough for the drop trap to arrive so I’m hoping someone in the San Diego or neighboring areas has a drop trap and transfer cage I could borrow. I’d be more than happy to put down a deposit equal to the cost of a new drop trap and transfer cage if someone is comfortable lending theirs out. Any advice on other things I can try in the meantime would be most welcome. Sorry for the long post but thank you for taking the time to read all of this. |

okay so me(middle schooler trans boy) and my mom (old ahh cis woman) had kind of a "fight"???? if you could even call it that, about my deadname.i love her so much but i genuinely cant understand her views. like i get that she might feel attatched to my deadname like ofc, you fucking named me, but you say you fully support me and my name change (YOU DO!! FULLY!!! - Players will roll 3 dice (in Minecraft's case push a button that will dispense a random number on a flag from 1-6)
- Depending on what numbers are rolled will determine a win, loss, or number of points.
- Rolling 3 numbers of the same is an automatic win (like 3 ones, or 3 fives)
- Rolling a 4,5,6 is an automatic win
- Rolling a 1,2,3 is an automatic loss
- Rolling a set of 2+1 will give points (some examples are 2,2,6; 2,2,5; 3,3,2)
- If you roll neither of these sets, you can roll again (ex: rolling a 1,2,5)
- Winners will most likely receive diamonds. They may also bet on diamonds too (This is also subject to change)

I was never apart of the online community very well. I've always struggled with forums amd such. But I've been following red vs blue and roosterteeth since the beginning finding it here and there before realizing there was a website, then realizing it was a series with a plot and not just a random series of videos I found online.
I bought merch as some of my earliest online purchases and dvds from game stop. Me and my friends even started making our own machinima by recording onto vhs tapes using techniques we figured out in halo 2 combining glitches into a series we called godly halo force, a reference to the white space tou could break into in halo 2 by glitching out of the map. My screen name on every game service I ever use is still based on those memories inspired by RvB.
I named my first car, a black for explorer tex because it felt like I was invincible driving it.
Started watching achievement hunter in college daily with my roommates and friends as a cornerstone of our friend group. We played mods in minecraft based on mods played by the group like skyblock.
When sheila gave out I got a subaru outback I named Carolina.
When I graduated college in 2015 I hiked the Appalachian trail the next year and planning stops to be in town when new episodes of off-topic, RT podcast, and other podcasts would drop so I could download a bunch beofe going back to the woods. I can honestly say I wouldn't have finished all 2000+ miles without those podcasts. Started watching camp camp during that too.
As a teacher I've been able to relate to some of my favorite students through knowing about achievement hunter, rwby, and other RT stuff.
I guess all of this to say in the truest sense, I will miss RT and I'm glad I got to watch it for 21 years of my life. I don't think tomorrow or the next days will be the same. It's truly been an honor to watch RTs content and to be aware of the final moments. Watching this long goodbye has been heartbreaking but it's better than eaking up one day to find its all gone.

okay so this is gonna be a long one sorry in advance! so dec 2022 my ex best friend decided she was done being friends.(so much more happened with her sabotaging my life but that would be better for a different subreddit lol.) i ended up asking for all my belongings and she refused. i kept texting once a day and then she said stop contacting me and stop defaming my character on social media. i made a post about her but never named who it was, and it was all factual so wouldn't even be defamation. So i sent her the definition of defamation and one text saying "no false statements were ever said. so no im not defaming your character. good try though!" and next thing i know i was going to court over electronic harassment. flash forward to aug 2023 and she dropped the charges and it was dismissed. flash forward again to last month april 2024 and she dms me on a burner tik tok account. she basically said you need to get over it and stop posting abt me,(ive actually only made 3 videos and the last one being in november, also never name dropping her.) i never meant for things to go that far yada yada bull shit. I just responded with "You quite literally sabotaged the hell out of my life and made my life a living hell. A good decent person would NEVER do the things you did to someone they ever cared about. Do not ever contact me again." and what do you know, she responded!!! so i filed a police report because i will not take her emotional abuse and feel like she needs to know i am absolutely serious. well the officer called me and said that he talked to her and she wont message again, and that they wont press charges because electronic harassment has to be constant or threatening. so why was my single text enough for charges to be pressed and not hers yk? but i didnt care because i just want it legally documented incase more stuff happens later. So heres where im extremely upset. i work in child care and often use a site online to pick up extra gigs often. In august 2023 they pulled my background check and denied me access!!!! i have tried re-applying so many times and its always no. ive lost out on sooooo many opportunities and money. if electronic harassment needs to be threatening and mine wasnt, are there any grounds that this could completely come off my background check? im just so upset that even with it being dismissed it comes up & makes me look like a potentially crazy person. please help! im also in utah so if that helps with knowing what laws would be accurate. thanks!!

- The Chamber Music Series of the Romanza Festivale presents the 9B Woodwind Quartet on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at noon.
- All four members have performed in several ensembles, many have taught music in the area, and all seek to preserve and promote woodwind chamber music. Founded by Jeff Ackerman, the 9B Woodwind Quartet offers music from multiple genres and across all eras, from early music to modern pop arrangements and stage numbers.
- Jeff Ackerman plays oboe for the quartet. He is the Fine Arts Department Chair and the band, guitar, and piano instructor for Westside High School in Jacksonville. Lee Sellers had a long career working with student bands in Texas and Florida, most recently in St. Johns County. Lee plays flute in the 9B Quartet and has performed as flutist and piccolist with several ensembles, including the Florida Flute Orchestra, the Trade Winds Quintet, Hollingsworth Winds, and the First Coast Flute Choir in Jacksonville. Multi-instrumentalist Robbie Zukauskas plays bassoon in the quartet and plays in several area ensembles and has performed with several military bands. Chamber Music Series: 9B Woodwind Quartet
- The Chamber Music Series of the Romanza Festivale presents the 9B Woodwind Quartet on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at noon.
- All four members have performed in several ensembles, many have taught music in the area, and all seek to preserve and promote woodwind chamber music. Founded by Jeff Ackerman, the 9B Woodwind Quartet offers music from multiple genres and across all eras, from early music to modern pop arrangements and stage numbers.
- Jeff Ackerman plays oboe for the quartet. He is the Fine Arts Department Chair and the band, guitar, and piano instructor for Westside High School in Jacksonville. Lee Sellers had a long career working with student bands in Texas and Florida, most recently in St. Johns County. Lee plays flute in the 9B Quartet and has performed as flutist and piccolist with several ensembles, including the Florida Flute Orchestra, the Trade Winds Quintet, Hollingsworth Winds, and the First Coast Flute Choir in Jacksonville. Multi-instrumentalist Robbie Zukauskas plays bassoon in the quartet and plays in several area ensembles and has performed with several military bands. About a year ago I met someone on ‘Discord’, and we talked quite a lot. He was kind of my friend. Over time, disturbing things began. For example, he said he was in love with someone he had never spoken to and then said she was in his imagination. Then the really disturbing thing started - he started acting very gay and flirty, but in a really, really disturbing way. That's why I cut him off.
About a month or two ago, I received a message on a local version of ‘Reddit’ (where I was an administrator of one of the forums), apparently from the same one. He said disturbing things, that he was interested in me, that I would receive a call from him for a job offer and all kinds of other things like that.
He also said that he had a lot of information about me and that he had been following me for a long time. Of course I contacted my supervisor and he was blocked.
A month ago I was dismissed from the management. I created a new user to appeal; the threads in the forum where you are appealing are only available to the mods and not to anyone. I received a message after uploading the appeal, which is extremely strange since the user did an OP tag. The harassment started again, I contacted the supervisor and he was blocked. Then he opened another user because I asked him what his Discord was, but he was blocked before he could say.
He immediately opened a new user and we continued to talk. Then he again said that he had a lot of information about me and all that. And now for the disturbing thing - he wrote me the ending of my phone number!
The next day I called the online police (yeah, we have it). Of course I sent all the screenshots of our conversations and they said they would take care of it. After a week I received a message on WhatsApp. He introduced himself as a woman and tried to coax me into things. Of course I blocked him and called them again. I sent them that too. There has been no update since then.
Yesterday I called again to check what’s changed, and what turns out? The application was closed the day it was opened! They handed it over to a specific police department, and they probably didn’t do anything with it.
People suggested that he might’ve hacked my Discord; and I also believe he has access of an OP on that website. I also have an idea of how he’s got my phone number.
So, today I’ve changed all my passwords and added security measurements. Is there a chance that he still might have access to my accounts?

Well at vc university he studied the culinary arts. Jerry always wanted to be a famous chef however for some reason he especially took an interest in the most important meal of the day breakfast. Day in day out that's all he would think about " what's the next biggest breakfast item" he thought to himself . However while he was thinking that he burned his hand on the stove leaving no feeling in his left hand as well as not fingerprints on that hand. But this didn't stop Jerry he was constantly making up new recipes all of the time. Although he had yet to make it big he realized he needed to go to the big city in the other side of the country... LOS SANTOS . Yup that's how he's gonna make it as the next biggest breakfast exclusive chef . After a few years he had saved up enough money to start a breakfast only restaurant open from 1 AM to 12 AM however his first business venture into the culinary arts were unsuccessful and widely forgotten . Hey. Sorry if this question has been asked before.
I have been going to download for a while now (since 2013) I have tried a few different sleeping setups (foam matt, self inflating matt, single camping bed, air mattress) but always end up going back to an airbed. It is the easiest and most comfortable for me and my partner. The problem is that I am getting to the point now where waking up to it having deflated and I am just on the floor ruins my back for the rest of the weekend (until I am drunk enough to forget) or the hassle of having to repump it up every night before drunkenly stumbling in to sleep is just annoying. I also often need to use the toilet through the night after a hard day of drinking and I find that crawling up from the floor is getting more and more troublesome so I am looking for some suggestions/solutions for this issue.
I have had a look online for some double height air beds. Hoping that the two layers are separated so if one goes down the other will be ok so I wont be completely on the floor and it will be a little easier to get up off. However the only ones I seem to be able to find are mains powered or ones on amazon that look like they would probably be absolutely rubbish. I have also seen some double camping beds but they look like they would be a hassle to carry, we don't drive and live local so usually get the skylink in and walk the rest of the way. (used to be much better when the drop off car park/entrance was near "the tree"
If any one has anything they could recommend I would be very thankful.

I wanted to make this post because I remember telling myself that I would never be better again. That I would never feel okay again.
A few months ago I posted about how I was getting a new job and how, hopefully, that job would help me get rid of my anxiety. Prior to getting my current job, I did nothing because my anxiety and panic were so so so so so so sooo bad. I’m not one of those people who just had it easier. I’m not one of those people who had a good head about it.
Everyday it felt like I was fighting for my life and toward the end, I decided I should start making plans to end my life because I truly did not think I would ever be okay again. I began to fight with people I love so it would make it easier on them. I stopped texting my friends back and stopped reaching out.
Then one day, while I was laying in bed and staring up at the ceiling as my heart pounded, I asked myself the same question that always popped up when I was having a panic attack. “Why can’t I be like everyone else?”
For some reason, it hit me then. That I could be.
I’ve read like, ten books- watched a hundred YouTube videos and attended therapy online and everything you can possibly think of to get better.
But realizing how much I was feeding my anxiety is what really got me. The reason I couldn’t be like everyone else is because when I had an attack, even when I tried to ignore it, I was still only making it worse for myself.
I decided that I would apply for a job that would be incredibly hard for me bc of my anxiety.
Sales. Talking to people gave me so much anxiety it was insane. Then I thought “what would be the hardest thing to sell?” And for me, that was cars. Because I know literally nothing about cars.
So I applied for a car sales job and you’ll never believe it….
Not only did I sell more cars in my first month than anyone has ever seen at that dealership before, but I also continue to excel. The owner has come and publicly praised my work. I made more money in that first month than I had made in YEARS.
I didn’t even realize my anxiety was gone until today.
Not that it’s gone gone. It’s just that now when I get anxiety, I work. I mean, this place keeps me SO busy. I only get one day a week off because I have thrown myself into my work and I genuinely love it. I do get stressed but not in the way where I feel like I’m dying.
It’s exciting to do what I do. It’s fun talking to people and learning so much. In some ways, it’s more relaxing than your average job because the responsibility is up to you.
I’m still pretty foggy in the head but I’m going to start working on my diet and see if that will help in any way.
My point here is- it absolutely does get better. And when they say to distract yourself, distract yourself with something that’ll really challenge you. Not just please or relax you but something that will make your brain work hard to figure something out. Do the hardest thing you can think of and be great at it.

My point here is- it absolutely does get better. And when they say to distract yourself, distract yourself with something that’ll really challenge you. Not just please or relax you but something that will make your brain work hard to figure something out. Do the hardest thing you can think of and be great at it.
